Essays Terrorism
Writing an essay on the topic of terrorism presents a myriad of challenges. Firstly, delving into
the subject matter requires a delicate balance of sensitivity and objectivity. Terrorism is a deeply
complex and often controversial issue that touches upon political, social, economic, and
psychological dimensions. Navigating through these intricacies while maintaining a clear and
coherent narrative can be daunting.
Furthermore, researching the topic entails wading through a vast sea of information, ranging
from historical accounts of terrorist incidents to academic analyses of terrorist ideologies and
tactics. The sheer volume and diversity of sources can be overwhelming, requiring meticulous
discernment to sift through credible information and discern biased or unreliable narratives.
Crafting an original thesis statement amidst the multitude of existing perspectives on terrorism is
another significant hurdle. It demands critical thinking and creativity to formulate a compelling
argument that contributes meaningfully to the discourse on the subject.
Moreover, addressing the emotional and ethical dimensions of terrorism adds another layer of
complexity. Discussing the human impact of terrorist acts while maintaining academic rigor
requires a nuanced approach that respects the dignity of victims while avoiding sensationalism or
oversimplification.
In summary, writing an essay on terrorism necessitates grappling with multifaceted challenges,
including navigating sensitive subject matter, conducting thorough research, formulating an
original thesis, and addressing emotional and ethical considerations.

Pros And Cons Of Cheeseburger Footprint
What is a vegan , you ask? A vegan is a person who does not eat or use any animal
products. Yes, you heard me right. Vegans live their lives without the use of animal
products (i.e. no In N Out Animal Style cheeseburgers or Ben and Jerry s ice
cream). Although you may feel bad for vegans considering they can t bite into a
greasy In N Out burger, they re actually doing our planet a big favor.
The purpose of my investigation is to compare the pros and cons of becoming a
vegan in order to reduce my ecological footprint. For Part B of my Linking to Life
project, I reviewed the short film Cheeseburger Footprint . After learning that the
methane coming from the cattle used to make cheeseburgers produces 23 units of
CO2, and in the end, 200,000,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After learning that carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide together cause the
vast majority of global warming and that raising animals for food is one of the
largest sources of CO2 and the single largest source of both CH4 and N2O, animal
products don t even sound the appealing to me anymore. Although not eating animal
products could be hard at first, knowing that I m cutting down a small amount of the
18% of greenhouse gas emissions makes it all the worthwhile. By not eating animal
products, we would save an immense amount of energy. We would also be saving
energy without having to feed massive amounts of grain and water to these animals,
kill them, process the meat, transport and then store their flesh. Nonetheless, the most
powerful step that we can take as humans to prevent global warming is to stop eating
meat, eggs, and dairy
The Three Types Of Court Management In The Criminal...
In the criminal justice system, there are three types of important court managers.
Without one of these court managers the court would be working slower than what
it needs to work. The three types of the curt managers are the clerk of court, the
judge, and the court administrator. Each of these managers have a very important
role they have to play to ensure that the court would run smoothly while is in
session. The clerk of court is An elected or appointed court officer responsible for
maintaining the written records of the court and for supervising or performing the
clerical tasks necessary to conduct judicial business (Neubauer Fradella, 2014,
p.535). For example, sometimes people might confuse what a clerk of the court does
with what a law clerkdoes or even a court reporter. The clerk of the court does take
another role while trial is going on, they maintain court calendars and handle and
assemble documents such as subpoenas, judicial orders, writs, injunctions, and
judgments (Krow, 2017). They review law suits and motions that are submitted to the
court. The second important court manager is the judge. Many people put judges as
the highest part of the criminal justice system. This is because of the power that
they have. It all start From arrest to final disposition, the accused face judges
whenever decisions affecting their futures are made (Neubauer Fradella, 2014,
p.199). Some of the things that a judge can do is set bail for you, revoke your bail, and
Viruses, Antibiotics, And Antibiotics Essay
Diseases are humans enemies. There are million kinds of diseases among the world.
Some of them were created by ever changing human activities; some of them cause
infections by microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Those
tiny things are truly annoying to us when we suffer sickness. They could even be
fatal to us. If we want to cure ourselves effectively we will have to kill them and
inhibit their growth using the drugs called antibiotics . Antibiotics are great against
these infections, but they are not perfect. Pathogenic bacteriagradually evolve to
survive in different environments just like the ways all creatures do. Though we can
kill most of them after using antibiotics. A little group of them still live and become
resistant to the antibiotics aimed at killing them. They multiply their population and
create stronger bacteria in order to keep on infecting us. The bacteria s ability of
fighting with antibiotics is named as antibiotic resistance.
Antibiotic resistance does not evolve frequently. However, due to the rapid social
development, more and more bizarre diseases are appearing around us. The diversity
in the standards and perceptions of living has brought us bunch of consequences,
including the illogical treatments toward illness and pharmaceutical production.
Many people don t know how to use drugs correctly or refuse to do so; some
industry owners know how to properly manage their production lines but refuse to do
that. Human s

blistering heat wave of 2015 that killed thousands. The people in Andhra are the
worst sufferers of this calamity. The protagonist, in In High Dudgeon , sees a cat

highly philosophic: Not able to live it s not possible even to die . Friends no longer

The poet has used his keen scalpel satirically to pierce the sensitivity of the
insensitive politicians who rule and have the moral as well as constitutional
responsibility to ameliorate the condition of the suffering populace in the country,
in particular, and in the world, at large. It is often said that wisdom comes with
age. The poems also have good pearls of wisdom for the younger generation to
learn; if, and only if, they want to usher into a country Where the mind is without
fear and the head is held high (Tagore 20). Of course, these poems are the pouring
of a mature mind that has learnt so many lessons from age and experience, and
now wants to advise and guide the generations to follow. It has been very
pertinently said: the price of wisdom is above rubies (Old Testament, Job, xxviii,
18), and Wisdom is of the soul ... is its own proof (Walt Whitman, Song of the
Open Road). However the greatest question is: Is our polity ready to accept it? The
book has material worth several research articles besides jolting the sensibility of our
insensitive people at the helm of affairs. The book exemplifies the truth that age can

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Written And Unwritten...
INTRODUCTION
A constitution is simply a body laid down fundamental principle or guides, in which a
state or organisation is been governed, it defines the duties, regulates the powers and
functions of the various institutions of government. The constitution defines how the
government direct and controls the affairs of a state; the constitution also determines
structure of the relationship between the governing body and its citizens. This laid
down rules called constitution, can either be: Written (codified) or unwritten
(uncodified), unitary or federal.
For example; United Kingdom uses the unwritten constitution while the united state
of America uses the written constitution also Canada.
The purpose of this essay is to show if UK should or should not adopt a written
constitution, by analysing the advantages and disadvantages of written constitution.

way advantageous compared to the rigidity of a written constitution which is more
difficult to amend and takes a longer process to do so including the expensive cost of
doing so.
However, the advantages of an unwritten constitution cannot outweigh the essentials

New York And Paris Comparison
The city that never sleeps and the city of lights
If you ask anyone about their favorite cities in the world, usually they will say
Paris and New York.
The two cities been on every traveler s bucket list for years . their Unique
Atmospheres , their spectacular sights, and their intriguing lifestyles fascinated many
people around the world. Both New York and Parisgot characterized by their
architecture , their attractions , and their population The architecture of the two
cities can be described as a personal style that both cities became known for. New
York is most closely associated with buildings , skyscrapers in particular. The city
has amassed one of the largest and most varied collection of skyscrapers in the
world. It s Architecturally significant buildings in it wide range of styles , portray
different historical and cultural periods , like the Woolworth Building, an early
gothic revival skyscraper with large scale gothic architectural detail. And The
Chrysler building ,which considered by many historians and architects to be one of
New York s finest. While New York is famous for its buildings, Paris however is
famous for it elegant Architecture, its museums and palaces. The typical Haussmann
buildings with black iron railings and hanging baskets are the epitome of Paris. such
as Notre Dame and the mesmerizing Sainte Chapelle, add another dimension to the
architectural beauty of the city. The city architecture is a notable example of
Creating an E. Coli Strain to Produce Antivenom Essay
example
Background Each year snakes envenomate 421,000 people, 20,000 of whom die.
These injuries are especially concentrated in developing countries, where snake bites
are an occupational hazard. (Kasturiratne et al. 2008). The negative impact of this
could be alleviated by the creation and production of a low cost, human compatible
universal antivenom. Lethal Toxin Neutralizing Factor, henceforth LTNF, is a
substance that has been isolated from opossum (Didelphis virginiana) serum, liquid
component of blood. LTNF can neutralize nearly all venoms, by a mechanism not
yet understood, including those never before encountered by the opossum
(Menchaca Perez 1981, Shier 2008). The active site of LTNF has been isolated into a

Currently, antivenoms are produced by injecting non lethal doses of the venom
into other animals, typically large mammals, and collecting the antibodies
produced in response (Domont et al. 1991). In contrast, our project produces LT
15 using genetically manipulated E. coli. There are immense benefits to our
project. Primarily, the benefits derive from the use of LT 15 as a universal
antivenom in medical settings. With LT 15, medical facilities can carry fewer
venom specific antivenoms and more LT 15, reducing storage costs. Additionally,
LT 15 could be used as an initial or booster antivenom, for when the active venom
cannot be immediately identified. Furthermore, use of LT 15 could decrease the
per unit cost of antivenom. Because production of antivenom has high fixed costs
but low variable costs, economies of scale exist and the average cost falls as
production quantity rises. Since LT 15 could be used universally, we anticipate a
large demand for it, leading to a lower cost for per unit of LT 15 than for each
antivenom it replaces (Chen et al. 1995). Finally, the use of an E. coli to produce
antivenom would nearly eliminate the allergic reactions many patients experience
with antivenoms produced in large mammals (Lipps 2000). Current antivenom
production yields a large quantity of animal serum with many antibodies, only some
of which are venom specific. In order to achieve adequate levels of specific
antivenom in the bloodstream, a large
Poultry Littering Research Paper
Animals in factory farms are given disgusting and improper food their entire lives
to fatten them quicker and to increase meat production, which cause detrimental
effects on the animal. For example, cows are often fed what is called poultry litter.
Poultry litter is a lot what it sounds like: a chicken s discretions scooped up off of a
warehouse floor. A typical cup of poultry litter will have feces, feathers, and uneaten
chicken feed. This is disgusting in itself, but to make matters worse, chicken feces
and feed can contain beef protein, which includes ground up meatand bone. So Big
Ag is feeding cows not only chicken poop and feathers, but cow meat too. Cows are
indirectly eating each other. And, just to make things worse once more, in... Show

It is easy to understand how this can seem hard for people to do, but it is a simple
switch, and a beneficial one. Humans do not need animal protein to survive
anymore, it is only a delicacy. Maybe a few hundred years ago, when men had to
go out and hunt so they would not starve and die, giving up meat would be radical,
but, luckily, this is not a few hundred years ago. Go to the grocery store and look at
all the tofu or all of the protein peanut butter and cheese provide. Meat is not
necessary anymore to sustain life, so why eat it?. This would be the meat industry
s wake up call to resolve the serious animal cruelty issues. The primary goal of Big
Ag is to make a profit, so when they find that these profits are decreasing, they
would be forced to make a change. It would also be beneficial to humans, not just
animals. It is scientifically proven that being a vegetarian leads to a longer life.
Vegetarians have a lower risk of diabetes, kidney disease and gallstones, and, of
course, humans will not be ingesting the awful hormones that the animals are force
fed ( 50 Good Reasons... ). If everyone stopped eating meat and throwing money at
the meat industry, Big Ag would have to make a change, so animals would no longer
be subjected to this torture. Humans do not need meat because the sustenance it
provides is found in several other food, and it is healthier, and, most importantly, it
would be helping the animals subjected to this torture. Switching to vegetarianism
also has other benefits. Research also shows, that it takes about ten kilograms of
plant to produce the equivalent of one kilogram of a cow (Archer). This means that
it would be quicker and easier to produce more plant material than animal material.
There would be more food for people in the end, and if more time is invested in
plant production and it produces more, then there is more food to

The Thoracic Ventricle
II MDCT angiography of the thoracic aorta:
At the point when an acute aortic syndrome (AAS) is suspected (owing either to
clinical manifestations or to chest radiographic findings), non enhanced CT is usually
done first to search a high attenuation acute intramural hematoma (IMH). The contrast
enhanced scanning, which take after is the key part of the CT examination. The right
timing of the entry of contrast material in the aorta is basic to picture quality.
Approaches to accomplishing this incorporate a timing bolus or a bolus tracking
technique (Kazerooni et al, 2009).
Technical procedures: Previously, ECG gating has fundamentally been retrospective
gating with which information are gathered over the whole cardiac cycle. This
allows review of aortic valve morphologic features on static images at end systole
and end diastole, measurement of aortic valve surface area and the review of valve
leaflet motion in cine mode. Inadequate coaptation of the valve leaflets relates to
regurgitation, and a confined opening relates to stenosis (Gilkeson et al., 2006).
Additionally, the more up to date prospective triggering technique gathers CT
information just at a specified point or cluster of points in the heart cycle, decreasing
the time the CT beam is on to a fraction of what it was with retrospective gating, thus
considerably decreasing the radiation dose (Shuman et al., 2008).
The development of MSCT with more than 16 detector rows has enabled
Literary Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Literary Analysis The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
by James Thurber is about a man who routinely fantasizes about himself in other
lives. The main character, Walter Mitty, inhabits a world that emasculates him.
During an errand run with his wife, Walter repeatedly imagines himself in
traditionally masculine roles. The characters he inhabits display distinct masculine
qualities such as courage, leadership, aggression, and decisiveness. In direct
contrast to this, Mitty shies away from conflict in reality and is often humiliated by
women and men. For instance, Mitty s car is a symbol of his inability to meet his
own masculine ideals. The man in the parking lot is required to park it for Mitty. His

Dbq Reform Movements From 1825 To 1850
Throughout the years 1825 1850, reformers in America sought change and worked to
get it. Through the formation of new groups, propaganda, and books, American
reformers took to supporting their own cause. America saw many movements that
sought to provide positive reformation in areas such as temperance, slavery,
government, penitentiary, and women s suffrage; and though not all of these
movements were immediately successful, they were able to expand upon democratic
ideals. One reform movementthat sought change during this time period were those
who believed in temperance. Alcohol had become very popular since the
colonization of America, but in the early 1820s, reformers began to attack
drunkenness as a corruption to society. In 1834, Charles... Show more content on

Essay On Post Operative Risk Management
What pre/peri/post operative risk management strategies will you utilize with this
patient and why?
Female patients diagnosed with anxiety, depression and past chronic pain are at
increased risk of developing chronic post surgical pain (1). Studies have shown high
preoperative anxiety and female gender are the two major risk factors of developing
acute postoperative and post chronic surgical pain (1). Several strategies can be used
to reduce the patient s anxiety and the incidence of developing acute post operative
chronic pain. At the consultation appointment, the clinician should address patient s
attitudes and concerns, educate the patient on the dental procedure, and identify the
procedures that are likely to cause severe pain (1).
Studies show chronic post surgical pain is associated with poor surgical technique,
increased time of surgery, and operations with high risk of nerve injury (1). One
may consider the use of cone beam topography to map the inferior alveolar nerve and
its proximity to the tooth in question. This patient should also be treated by an oral

Review on We have No Right to Happiness
By: C.S. Lewis
In class we read three different essays including The Dying family by J.H. Plumb,
Does Fatherhood Make You Happy? By Daniel Gilbert, and We Have No Right to
Happiness by C.S. Lewis. Though the purpose of these essays can be very
controversial to some, after reviewing all three essays I have picked my favorite, or
the one I agree with and disagree with most. We have no Right to Happiness makes a
very good argument on the point the author is trying to make. Some people believe
that happiness is a right and is supposed to be given out, or is required to be
provided by the government, like a right. In all reality that is true, but to an extent,
we do have a right to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But there still is their pursuit of happiness. Guaranteed your parents social status

something to do with where you come from or what you have been provided with
up until this point, in which ever case government is not required to make you
happy as an individual. I believe government already helps out people too much
already, even if there not as deserving or willing to work for it. Though the right to
happiness is chiefly claimed for the sexual impulse, it seems to me impossible that
the matter should stay there Lewis said. Sexual happiness is on a whole different
aspect. It s probably not in your best interest to act on every sexual related impulse
you have to make you happy. Although you are entitled too, sexually fulfilling your

The Errors And Its Effects On The New Way Of View Life
The errors I am most guilty of committing frequently would be, filtering out the
positive, unreal ideal, and labeling. I never know the terminology for these habits
until now. When reading the article, I could picture scenarios when I committed these
errors.
I have tendency of labeling everything! When I first moved to America, labeling
/grouping items, people and so on really helped to simplify this new journey. Over
the years I am realizing that that s a poor way of view life. I tend to label people,
places, and etc. with little or no interacting. The last year there has been a lot in the
media about police brutality and unfair treated for African American and minorities
in general. When watching the news, I would make a state like these police
officers are evil and out of control. , these officers are all racist and so on. Stating
comments like these are completely unfair. Putting all officers in the same category
is small minded and doesn t solve the problem facing us today. On top of that am
implanting those false beliefs onto my little brother.
Filtering out the positive was my second one. It doesn t matter how much I

How would you define determination? Determination is often having the motivation
and willpower to see a goal, a task or an idea through to the end. Throughout our
history, there have been many events that have shaped or had an effect on our
country and the rest of the world. One of the most important World War II. If you

Patton Museum of Leadership and ever since that wonderful experience, I have taken
on a new level of interest for General George S. Patton, one of the most remarkable
leaders in United States history.
Born on November 11, 1885 in San Gabriel, California George Smith Patton Jr s
story begins. His ancestors had fought in the Revolutionary War, the Mexican War
and the Civil War, and he grew up listening to stories of their brave and successful
endeavors. Son of George Smith Patton Sr. a lawyer and eventual district attorney
in Los Angeles and wife, Ruth Wilson Patton spent most of his early years
alongside younger sister, Anne (called Nita) in the state of California and eventually
went on to the Virginia Military Institute, graduating from WestPoint in 1909 and
marrying wife, Beatrice (Bea) Ayer in 1910. While at WestPoint, Patton performed
extremely well and became interested in their Sword Team quickly becoming a
highly regarded Swordsman. Once Patton graduated 46 out of 103, he was appointed
as a second lieutenant in the cavalry. Patton experienced many struggles while
growing up, including suffering from dyslexia and other learning based challenges
while always remaining extremely self conscious. Martin Blumenson tells his story
so effortlessly having served as a historical officer during World War II, Blumenson is
an expert.

Have you ever wondered why states spend roughly one billion dollars a year on
children (20 and under) who are attempting suicide or have attempted suicide (Nami,
2010)? That is due to the thousands of children who live their daily lives with an
undiagnosed mental disorder. What is children s mental health? Children s mental
health is defined as growing emotionally while developing healthful social skills and
learning how to deal with problems (CDC, 2013). Some mental disorders found in
children include: mood and anxiety disorders, behavior disorders, Autism spectrum
disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia, and
substance use disorder. ADHD, a neurodevelopmental disorder, is the most common

They both strive to bring awareness to the problem by offering support, insurance,

is completed in 2018, hopefully lawmakers will come up with some more ideas as to
where patients who are currently suffering can go to receive the adequate help and

Location of this Investigation
South Creek is located in Narrabeen, New South Whales, Australia, within the
Warringah area. The Narrabeen basin is approximately 7km from north to south
and 7km from east to west (Entrance from Narrabean Lakes, Forest Way) (Mona
Vale at Tumbledown Dick to Warringah road ). South Creek flows through Oxford
falls, Beacon Hill, Cromer, Narraweena, Wheeler Heights before flowing into
Narrabeen Lakes. The landscape of the area is dissected sandstone plateau with some
areas of flat land at height, such as Collaroy Plateau with an average height of 42
metres above sea level.

Summary Of The Rise And Fall Of Senator Joseph
Mccarthy
Senator Joseph McCarthy (Rep.) was a very controversial political figure during
the Cold War climate during the early 50 s that used the fear of communism to ruin
the lives of many people in the United States, as part of a campaign to expose
suspected communists by aggressively questioning and investigating them before
government panels which ultimately ruined their lives as well as the people they
associated with. During this era, the American government got rid of the very
democratic freedoms and principles that they were founded on, in the name of
protecting them. The book The Rise and Fall of Senator Joe McCarthy focuses on
how Senator McCarthy was able to gain unstoppable power and how he was brought
down by the government he exploited. Joseph R. McCarthy was born November 14,
1908 in small area in Wisconsin, and died May 2, 1957 at the age of 48. Joe... Show

Essay about A Feminist Analysis of Othello
A Feminist Analysis of Othello
In William Shakespeare s tragic play Othello there are numerous instances of obvious
sexism aimed at the three women in the drama Desdemona, Emilia and Bianca and
aimed at womankind generally. Let us delve into this subject in this paper.
In the essay Wit and Witchcraft: an Approach to OthelloRobert B. Heilman discusses
a scene which occurs late in the play and which is sexist:
When Othello summons Desdemona and dismisses Emilia, Leave procreants alone . .
.; / Cough or cry hem if anybody come. / Your mystery, your mystery! . . . (IV.2.28
30), he not only dismisses Emilia, accuses Desdemona of infidelity, and betrays his
own insane bitterness, but he converts the marriage into a ... Show more content on

Roderigo even calls Desdemona s action a revolt against paternal authority: Your
daughter, if you have not given her leave, / I say again, hath made a gross revolt [. .
.] . Upon verifying the absence of his daughter from the home, Brabantio exhorts all
fathers to trust not their daughters, indicating an alleged predisposition among young
ladies to rebel against authority:
O heaven! How got she out? O treason of the blood!
Fathers, from hence trust not your daughters minds
By what you see them act. (1.1)
Othello, the general and protagonist, seems initially to be totally lacking in sexism.
He loves Desdemona as an equal and accepts her with no preconditions:
As this that I have reach d: for know, Iago,
But that I love the gentle Desdemona,
I would not my unhoused free condition
Put into circumscription and confine
For the sea s worth. (1.2)
With the Turkish campaign against Cyprus in motion, the Duke of Venice scarcely
has time for Brabantio s protestations. And the First Senator encourages the newly
married general: Adieu, brave Moor, use Desdemona well. The word use conveys
the sexist belief of the husband s ownership of the wife. Later, when Roderigo
confesses to Iago his depression and suicidal feelings over the loss of Desdemona,
the ancient seeks to keep him alive by saying that Othello will soon grow tired of his
bride, stating
My Service Learning With Child Protective Services ( Cps )
First Impressions Before taking this class or completing my service learning with
Child Protective Services (CPS), I really had not had any experience with CPS. I
just made the assumption that the agency was biased and flawed based on the
experiences other people had with CPS. I also did not think it would be a place that I
would want to work because I did not want to work with children, although now I
realize that was a really unfair opinion I had of the agency. I also thought a lot of
people abused the service because I had heard a lot of stories of people calling CPS
on each other out of spite. After learning about CPS and being able to observe what
the agency does, I do realize the agency is not what I thought it was. I also realize...

stopped responding to my emails.
From my understanding it was not Ms. Green who was avoiding me, it was the
agency preventing her from communicating with not only me, but with other
families who she could have been working with. I became so frustrated and
disappointed that I was getting gypped from the service learning portion of class. I
also imagine the families she was working with were frustrated as well because
they were stuck in a sort of limbo. Even though I was not able to go back to the
CPS office and complete any more hours there, I did get the opportunity to observe

made everything we learned in class click together for me. In particular there were
some terms that came up in court that I remember discussing in class, such as family

The Great Depression By Franklin D. Roosevelt
The longest, deepest, and most pervasive depression in American history was this
that lasted from 1929 to 1939.This depression was one of the greatest economic
catastrophes in history; in fact, the real per capita gross domestic product was still
below its 1929 level a decade later in comparison of the other depressions who had
adjusted their GDP by then. The Great Depressionwas able to spread its effects and
influence into every aspect of the lives of the people that were unfortunate to
experience the depression, from the economic facet to our social life as well. The
depression was mainly caused by over speculation of the stock market,
overproduction in industry and agriculture, and the stock market crash. Franklin D.
Rooseveltwas a big element of the actions taken to get out of this depression: The
New Deal. The important question is: what did he contribute to the American society?
Before the great depression, mass production problems and World War I in the
economy accumulated with each other and finally caused the depression. These
problems were already existing factors since the roaring twenties. Yes, the roaring
twenties were years of success, however they were built over a thick brick of
glitches. The main problems were that world war I was extremely expensive and
turned out as a setback to the economy of the United States; also people could not
sustain themselves anymore, so they started using what was called credit , very
similar to our credit cards, and most
Advantages Of Prestressed Concrete
1.Prestressed concrete is a combination of high strength concrete and steel which can
readily be used in prefabricated structures.
Prestressed concrete is a procedure where the loadbearing strength of concrete is
increased significantly. Basically, it is a concrete in which suitable internal stresses
of suitable magnitude and distribution are introduced so that the stresses caused from
the external loads are neutralized to an anticipated degree. The benefit of prestressed
concrete is that it can be used for construction of large spans (more than 30m) with
slender members, even on encountering with heavy loads. As enhanced materials
(controlled concrete and high tension steel) are being used, the modulus of elasticity
is higher and ultimate creep strain is smaller resulting in the reduction of cross
section of the structural components. Due to smaller dimensions, there is reduction in
loads causing smaller deflections and lead to saving cost in the supporting members
and foundations.
Further, the pre stressing technique has eradicated the weakness of concrete in
tension obtaining crack free members of structure wherein the tensile zones are
minimized and cracks are limited under permanent loads increasing the structural
durability consequently. To cite an example, in a prefabricated concrete slab on the

On comparing to a reinforced concrete component, an element made of high strength
concrete will have minor deflection, slighter camber change, lower pre stress loss and

higher compressive strength, better tensile strength and improved

Even an advertisement about a universally known brand has the potential to be
interpreted in various ways. In the Heinz example, a consumer may see the sliced
ketchup bottle as an abstract sculpture, and therefore associate the company with
innovation and art. By stating No one grows ketchup like Heinz , they are saying that
their ketchup uses natural and fresh ingredients, unlike other competing brands.
Ketchup is made in a factory and by any means isn t grown . However, the text below
the picture reads otherwise. By this, the marketers transform a sugary condiment into
a wholesome, raw ingredient. This is clearly an attempt by the advertisers to assign a
healthy connotation to ketchup. Not only are the advertisers attaching a nutritional
aspect to ketchup, they are redefining ketchup perhaps in an attempt to promote a

Similarities Between Beowulf And Bilbo
It is not a surprise Tolkien was heavily inspired by Anglo Saxon literature and
language and that it has seeped into a lot of his work. The Hobbit is not exception,
in that it borrows a lot of influence from Beowulf. The Hobbit visits a lot of themes
from Beowulf and Anglo Saxon culture such as greed, catabasis, and musicality and
language, all of which will be explored on this essay. Two of the characters in
particular are reminiscent to Beowulfin his both halves of the text; Bilbo would be
the young Beowulf proving himself to the reader and the people around him. Thorin
would be the old King Beowulf, obsessed with his need for treasure and haunted by
greed. Essentially, The Hobbitis a retelling of the Beowulf text; they both embody
different aspects of Beowulf at different times in his life and follow very similar
themes.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which may be funny because where Beowulf is physically strong, Bilbo is not.
Bilbo s story, like Beowulf s does not start at the beginning. We do not get Bilbo s
back story, just like we do not get Beowulf s back story, but rather their stories start
in the middle. They are both in the middle of their background story trying to prove
themselves, since they are the underdog of their stories. Beowulf goes through two
character tests, whereas Bilbo goes through more than a couple. Beowulf s first
character test turns out to be quite easy, as he mortally wounds Grendel simply
ripping off his arm and Grendel slithers back to his hole to die (Beowulf 750 835).
Although his tests get significantly harder, Young Beowulf finishes off his current
character tests with Grendel s Mother. Beowulf must fight Grendel s Mother after
she has taken one of Hrothgar s friends, Aeschere, as the death price for the death of

I wished the poet was still alive. He would change a lot of things other than

everyone to know that. I like the fact that Ginsberg wasn t a greedy person that

Proposed Bill Legislation For A Reform Of The Current...
PART A
The Succession (Scotland) Bill passed stage 3 of the parliamentary process on 29
January 2016 and will be brought into force at a future date. Critically evaluate the
extent to which the provisions in the bill relating to survivorship and forfeiture
represent an improvement to the current legal position.
The Succession (Scotland) Bill is currently in the process of being processed in order
to alter the current position of Statute in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 and also
Trusts (Scotland) Act 1921. The alterations being made are currently disputed as to
whether they will create improvements for the functionality of the law of trusts and
successions or that they will cause more problems for the courts in passing
judgements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Bill introduces a very drastic change to the aforementioned provisions in
Section 31 as it states that despite the circumstances when the presumption of order
of death is uncertain then neither of the parties are to be presumed to have survived
the other, ergo diminishing the current legal stance relating to the general rule that
the younger of the parties is presumed to have survived the elder. However this
change has the ability to give rights to beneficiaries in both wills rather than vesting
in the younger of the two deceased persons. For example if an unmarried couple die
and leave wills to each other whom failing their two children then by applying the
proposed rule in the bill then both children will receive from the will rather than the
younger of the deceased.
The idea of the provisions set out in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 were to help
benefit the younger person who is presumed to have predeceased the elder so that the
possible whom failing clause can be met rather than the estate falling into partial
intestacy. A case which illustrates this outcome well is the Ross s Judicial Factor v
Martin when both died and the common law rule was applied it was determined that
neither would have survived the other. This therefor caused both of the estates to be

The Decision Making Process Criteria

making process criteria would have been followed many children would not have
been exposed to molestation. The Freeh report (2012) made more than 100
recommendations for change to be instituted by PSU including restructuring
governance; administration and general counsel structure, policies and procedures.
Additionally, the university culture needs to transform stressing values and ethics
based decision making. A process adjustment is required for compliance, risk and
misconduct reporting. The athletic department must be integrated into an oversight
and compliance process by the leadership. The programs involving children require
greater management leadership with frequent accountability process to be
established. Ultimately, the leadership itself that was involved in the case should be
transitioned. Another primary recommendation of the report was to appoint an ethics
officer to serve as counsel to the President and board on ethics issues and alignment
with Penn State Principles. The officer is to establish a council and select a Chief
Compliance Officer (CCO) with whom ethics initiatives are synchronized. The goal
of this council is to emphasize and practice transparency at all levels while
communicating openly and frequently with the university around issues. The
university was also asked to establish the Penn State Rock Ethics Institute. The Ethics

Who are you? by Emily Dickinson shows the connection towards the society, the
people and herself. In the poem, the poet portrays herself as a Nobody and
playfully asks the responder Who are you? . Dickinson follows up by adding Are
you nobody too?/Then there is a pair of us! this helps Dickinson unite with the
responder adding the sense of belonging to one another. In the last stanza, the poet
shows how oppressive the somebodies crowd can be Don t tell!/They d advertise
you know? This also shows the connection that Dickinson has with being a nobody,
and the ability to stand out from the crowd. How dreary to be somebody! shows
how the poet loves to be a nobody, and feels like she belongs. Dickinson frequently
uses rhythmic dashes to interrupt the flow, and engage the responder to pause to
think and feel about the line. The poet also uses juxtaposition in the line How public
like a Frog These combining elements are not typically considered together, and, thus,
more powerfully conveying its meaning. The poem shows that Dickinson is quite
content with not connecting with the somebodies and that the poet enjoys being an
outsider to the rest of the world and feels like she belongs to her own little place.
In the picture book, The rabbits by John Marsden Shaun Tan it shows the perspective
of belonging as connecting to the indigenous Aboriginal land, people and culture. The

Philadelphia Story Character Analysis
Philadelphia Story Character Analysis
George Cukor s star studded romantic comedy, The Philadelphia Story (1940),
offers modern viewers a look at changing personalities in 1930s/40s American high
society. The film stars Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, and James Stewart in a clash
of cultures centered around a wedding. Macaulay Connor (Stewart) is a reporter for
tabloid like Spy Magazine, on assignment to write an exposГ© on the marriage of
wealthy Tracy Lord (Katherine Hepburn) with the help of her ex husband, C.K.
Dexter Haven (Cary Grant). While all of the characters present go through a dramatic
change of outlook, Connor s is the most drastic. Macaulay Connor s goal in life is to

When asked about her wedding, she comments, We aren t allowing any reporters in,
except for little Mr. Grace who does the social news. Can you imagine a grown up
man having to sink so low?
A little later in the same meeting, Tracy asks if Connor and Elizabeth are dating and
receives only uncomfortable spluttering from the couple. Tracy then insinuates that
Connor should have married Elizabeth if he loves her, at which Connor jerks and
becomes uncomfortable. This moment exposes Connor s emotional distance, an issue
that continues throughout the film. It appears that Connor is unaware of his
emotional objectivity towards his girlfriend, Elizabeth, until the end of the film.
When asked why she has not married him yet, Elizabeth responds, he s still got a lot
to learn. I don t want to get in his way for a while.
While he is aware of his classism towards the wealthy, it is not until the end of the
film that he recognizes that his prejudice towards the upper class is unfair. Connor
is not aware of the extent to which he expresses his dislike of the upper class, in
spite of being faced with examples that prove him wrong.
As the story progresses, Connor begins to realize that the wealthy are as
dysfunctional as everyone else. They have personal dilemmas, trauma, and
struggles. His view of Tracy, the epitome in his eyes of upper class snobbery, begins
to change when he discovers her reading his book in the library. Are you sure you re
Decision Making Process Paper
Decision Making Process Paper
MGT/230

Abstract
The decision making process has six stages. These stages consist of identifying and
diagnosing the problem, generating alternative solutions, evaluating alternatives,
making the choice, implementing the decision, and evaluate the decision. Choosing
to go back to school and what school to attend was a problem that I had that needed
to be figured out. I did not use the decision making process; if I had I am not sure if
my decision would have been the same.
Deciding to go back to school was something I thought about for a few months but
taking the steps to do so was something that only took an hour to do. The decision
making process has six stages but I may have only ... Show more content on

Also if I had taken the steps to talk to daycares about putting my youngest child in
one, I would not have to worry about finding a babysitter when I went to school.
The decision making process would have made me ask questions about what I
wanted and what I could do. The process also would have allowed me to evaluate
my decision and determine if a community college would have been right. My
problem was going back to school and which school to attend. I may not have
followed the decision making process but I do believe I have made the right choice.
The decision making process has six stages: identify and diagnose the problem,
generate alternative solutions, evaluate alternatives, make the choice, implement the
decision, and evaluate the decision. The decision making process can be very
effective if one were to use it.

Marcus Brutus In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar was a man who could declare war on all of Rome and his people
would still cheer for him. Julius Caesar was very brave but prideful and egotistical.
This abundance of power and support along with his attitude are some of the many
reasons certain members of the senate rose in opposition against Caesar. One of the
conspirators was Marcus Brutus a good friend and close confidant to Caesar. In
Shakespeare s Julius Caesarthe reader is presented with a choice of who to side with,
however, the conspirators were validated in their fears of Caesar and his growing
influence. If they had not done something then, Rome would have perished.
The willingness of citizens to turn against Pompey and, to a certain extent, Rome
itself for Caesar is a testament to why the conspirators killed Caesar. In the
beginning of Shakespeare s work Marullus says, Didn t you know Pompey? Many
times you climbed up on walls and battlements, towers and windows even chimney
tops with your babies in your arms, and sat there patiently all day waiting to see the
great Pompey ride through the streets of Rome. And now you put on your best
clothes? And now you take a holiday? (act1, sc1). The people of Rome were willing to

In the second act Caesar says, in response to his wife s pleading for him to stay at
home, ВЁThe gods do this to test my bravery. They re saying I d be an animal
without a heart if I stayed home today out if fear. So I won t. Danger knows Caesar
is more dangerous than he is. I will go out.ВЁ In this we are shown Caesar s true
nature. When his wife reveals to him the dreams that she and the servants have
been having he simply ignores her warnings. He then speaks of how he is more
dangerous than danger itself. This is a brilliant example of the size of his ego. There
are other examples of Caesar s ego but this one shows it the
Twin Studies In Behavior Genetics

One set of twins sisters are being raised 275 miles apart by a kind of accidental

Special Education Program For Students
All students need to be able to get the most out of school as they can and it is
important to give all student the same opportunity. There are programs are made
specifically for students that have learning impairment, physical disabilities, mental
handicaps or language barriers to help them succeed like any other student.
In Texas we have Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD), with is a document that
explains an individual educational program (IEP) for students within the special
education program. When determining the child s placement it is necessary to keep
in mind the student s level of academic performance, functional performance and if
the disability affects their participation in the classroom. The individuals involved in
these meetings are the parents, the regular teacher, special educational teacher,
representative knowledgeable about resources in the local district, and a translator if
needed. Parental participation is the most effective way to help the student succeed
under ARD, the parents are given a parent s guide which contains information, their
right and responsibility, which should be constantly reviewed to have accurate
information about the child. The child s ARD record should be at the school, in the
school district, and with the local education agency to insure the student is being well
instructed for the disability they might have. Depending on their ARD circumstances
students have the convenience to access assistive technology, behavioral

Financial Governance And Corporate Governance
Introduction This report provides an in depth analysis of RBS s corporate

is perceived as a contract between Sir Fred Goodwin and the Shareholders. Such
theory emphasis the fact that Sir Freed Goodwin seeks to maximize his personal
benefit and doesn t implement the assumed objective in finance which clearly states
that the agent should take investment and economic judgments with the aim of long
term shareholder wealth maximization. RBS is a large company and as many big

more sectors of society and not only shareholders( Pearce, 1982; Freeman,1984 Hill

Symbolism In Raktakarabi
In Rabindranath Tagore s play, Raktakarabi (Red Oleanders, 1924), set in an
imaginary town called Yakshapuri ruled under capitalism, minorities are
dehumanized and exploited into becoming a source of gold digging machines by a
brutal King whose ever growing obsession with wealth had turned him despicable
until salvation became apparent in the hands of a woman named Nandini. Nandini is
the protagonist and the King is the antagonist of the play. Yakshapuri in Hindu
mythology is referred to as the abode of the god of its hoard of treasure. In the play,
the King symbolizes the oppressor of both humans and nature by fear and power and
Nandini symbolizes the nature that restores its equilibrium by shaking everything
into its righteous place by beauty, love and strong character. What s left in between
are the oppressed: the miners along with their families who are undoubtedly and
hopelessly stuck in a rollercoaster where their freedom is nowhere to be apparent.
Tagore shows his concern over the materialistic industry oriented mentality of men
and the lust of controlling the resources of the earth as well as the inhabitants by
exploiting, estranging and circumscribing the underdogs.
In Tagore s play, the King lives in his castle behind a wall of netting 1 as... Show

Tagore shows in the play from his utilitarian perspective the barbarism found in the
implementation of capitalism where mechanization is preferred over
humanitarianism. Nandini being among the oppressed, she comes across as the
alternative solution in which she instigates a rebellion against the exploitation of
nature and oppression of the miners. Nandini s spontaneity and spirit of humanity
along with nature made such a strong impact on the people of Yakshapuri and the
King who decides to end the atrocity he had
Conflict Between Scotland And England
Identity is what forms the core of humanity as it is claimed and sustained in
reciprocal role relationships (Thoits, 175). People are constantly defining themselves
to fit into a group, ethnicity, or regional identity. It is crucial because humans need
the community and culture as the greater the number of identities held, the stronger
one s sense of meaningful, guided existence (Thoits, 175). Hence, by having a
regional identity and a larger sense of unity as an imagined community gives a
sense of security to humans as stated that people s awareness of being part of the
global space of flows seems to have generated a search for new points of orientation,
efforts to strengthen old boundaries and to create new ones, often based on identities
of resistance (Paasi, 475). Humans are partially threatened by globalization as they
struggle to maintain identities of what they had in the past; this is demonstrated not
just in individuals, but also amongst countries, as with Brexit. In the UK, Scotlandhas
had many struggles to sustain their own heritage and regional identity as a separate
entity from England. From the basic necessities, like currency, the conflict between
Scotland and England can be seen; as the sterling pound in England is different from
the sterling pound in Scotland. From the banknotes, it portrays the friction between
Scotland and England and amplifies the regional identities of the two areas. The
sterling pound is currency circulated around the UK.

Essays Terrorism. Sample essay on terrorism

  • 1. Essays Terrorism Writing an essay on the topic of terrorism presents a myriad of challenges. Firstly, delving into the subject matter requires a delicate balance of sensitivity and objectivity. Terrorism is a deeply complex and often controversial issue that touches upon political, social, economic, and psychological dimensions. Navigating through these intricacies while maintaining a clear and coherent narrative can be daunting. Furthermore, researching the topic entails wading through a vast sea of information, ranging from historical accounts of terrorist incidents to academic analyses of terrorist ideologies and tactics. The sheer volume and diversity of sources can be overwhelming, requiring meticulous discernment to sift through credible information and discern biased or unreliable narratives. Crafting an original thesis statement amidst the multitude of existing perspectives on terrorism is another significant hurdle. It demands critical thinking and creativity to formulate a compelling argument that contributes meaningfully to the discourse on the subject. Moreover, addressing the emotional and ethical dimensions of terrorism adds another layer of complexity. Discussing the human impact of terrorist acts while maintaining academic rigor requires a nuanced approach that respects the dignity of victims while avoiding sensationalism or oversimplification. In summary, writing an essay on terrorism necessitates grappling with multifaceted challenges, including navigating sensitive subject matter, conducting thorough research, formulating an original thesis, and addressing emotional and ethical considerations. • 2. Pros And Cons Of Cheeseburger Footprint What is a vegan , you ask? A vegan is a person who does not eat or use any animal products. Yes, you heard me right. Vegans live their lives without the use of animal products (i.e. no In N Out Animal Style cheeseburgers or Ben and Jerry s ice cream). Although you may feel bad for vegans considering they can t bite into a greasy In N Out burger, they re actually doing our planet a big favor. The purpose of my investigation is to compare the pros and cons of becoming a vegan in order to reduce my ecological footprint. For Part B of my Linking to Life project, I reviewed the short film Cheeseburger Footprint . After learning that the methane coming from the cattle used to make cheeseburgers produces 23 units of CO2, and in the end, 200,000,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After learning that carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide together cause the vast majority of global warming and that raising animals for food is one of the largest sources of CO2 and the single largest source of both CH4 and N2O, animal products don t even sound the appealing to me anymore. Although not eating animal products could be hard at first, knowing that I m cutting down a small amount of the 18% of greenhouse gas emissions makes it all the worthwhile. By not eating animal products, we would save an immense amount of energy. We would also be saving energy without having to feed massive amounts of grain and water to these animals, kill them, process the meat, transport and then store their flesh. Nonetheless, the most powerful step that we can take as humans to prevent global warming is to stop eating meat, eggs, and dairy
  • 3. The Three Types Of Court Management In The Criminal... In the criminal justice system, there are three types of important court managers. Without one of these court managers the court would be working slower than what it needs to work. The three types of the curt managers are the clerk of court, the judge, and the court administrator. Each of these managers have a very important role they have to play to ensure that the court would run smoothly while is in session. The clerk of court is An elected or appointed court officer responsible for maintaining the written records of the court and for supervising or performing the clerical tasks necessary to conduct judicial business (Neubauer Fradella, 2014, p.535). For example, sometimes people might confuse what a clerk of the court does with what a law clerkdoes or even a court reporter. The clerk of the court does take another role while trial is going on, they maintain court calendars and handle and assemble documents such as subpoenas, judicial orders, writs, injunctions, and judgments (Krow, 2017). They review law suits and motions that are submitted to the court. The second important court manager is the judge. Many people put judges as the highest part of the criminal justice system. This is because of the power that they have. It all start From arrest to final disposition, the accused face judges whenever decisions affecting their futures are made (Neubauer Fradella, 2014, p.199). Some of the things that a judge can do is set bail for you, revoke your bail, and
  • 4. Viruses, Antibiotics, And Antibiotics Essay Diseases are humans enemies. There are million kinds of diseases among the world. Some of them were created by ever changing human activities; some of them cause infections by microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Those tiny things are truly annoying to us when we suffer sickness. They could even be fatal to us. If we want to cure ourselves effectively we will have to kill them and inhibit their growth using the drugs called antibiotics . Antibiotics are great against these infections, but they are not perfect. Pathogenic bacteriagradually evolve to survive in different environments just like the ways all creatures do. Though we can kill most of them after using antibiotics. A little group of them still live and become resistant to the antibiotics aimed at killing them. They multiply their population and create stronger bacteria in order to keep on infecting us. The bacteria s ability of fighting with antibiotics is named as antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance does not evolve frequently. However, due to the rapid social development, more and more bizarre diseases are appearing around us. The diversity in the standards and perceptions of living has brought us bunch of consequences, including the illogical treatments toward illness and pharmaceutical production. Many people don t know how to use drugs correctly or refuse to do so; some industry owners know how to properly manage their production lines but refuse to do that. Human s
  • 5. What Is The Theme Of In High Dudgeon Poem or fate . There is none to listen to their wails. In this poem, the poet reflects on the blistering heat wave of 2015 that killed thousands. The people in Andhra are the worst sufferers of this calamity. The protagonist, in In High Dudgeon , sees a cat with a pigeon in its jaws a situation of imminent death. The spectacle makes him highly philosophic: Not able to live it s not possible even to die . Friends no longer continue to be friends and he murmurs a song from a famous Hindi film, Sangam: Dost dost naa rahaa pyaar pyaar naa rahaa . There is deception everywhere; even filial relations have become ungrateful. It also reminds him about daughters, who turn ingrateful like King Lear s daughters: Regan and Goneril. His mental state... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poet has used his keen scalpel satirically to pierce the sensitivity of the insensitive politicians who rule and have the moral as well as constitutional responsibility to ameliorate the condition of the suffering populace in the country, in particular, and in the world, at large. It is often said that wisdom comes with age. The poems also have good pearls of wisdom for the younger generation to learn; if, and only if, they want to usher into a country Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high (Tagore 20). Of course, these poems are the pouring of a mature mind that has learnt so many lessons from age and experience, and now wants to advise and guide the generations to follow. It has been very pertinently said: the price of wisdom is above rubies (Old Testament, Job, xxviii, 18), and Wisdom is of the soul ... is its own proof (Walt Whitman, Song of the Open Road). However the greatest question is: Is our polity ready to accept it? The book has material worth several research articles besides jolting the sensibility of our insensitive people at the helm of affairs. The book exemplifies the truth that age can cripple body, not
  • 6. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Written And Unwritten... INTRODUCTION A constitution is simply a body laid down fundamental principle or guides, in which a state or organisation is been governed, it defines the duties, regulates the powers and functions of the various institutions of government. The constitution defines how the government direct and controls the affairs of a state; the constitution also determines structure of the relationship between the governing body and its citizens. This laid down rules called constitution, can either be: Written (codified) or unwritten (uncodified), unitary or federal. For example; United Kingdom uses the unwritten constitution while the united state of America uses the written constitution also Canada. However, the advantages of an unwritten constitution cannot outweigh the essentials and clarity a codified constitution

  • 8. Creating an E. Coli Strain to Produce Antivenom Essay example Background Each year snakes envenomate 421,000 people, 20,000 of whom die. These injuries are especially concentrated in developing countries, where snake bites are an occupational hazard. (Kasturiratne et al. 2008). The negative impact of this could be alleviated by the creation and production of a low cost, human compatible universal antivenom. Lethal Toxin Neutralizing Factor, henceforth LTNF, is a substance that has been isolated from opossum (Didelphis virginiana) serum, liquid component of blood. LTNF can neutralize nearly all venoms, by a mechanism not yet understood, including those never before encountered by the opossum (Menchaca Perez 1981, Shier 2008). The active site of LTNF has been isolated into a 15 amino acid long... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Currently, antivenoms are produced by injecting non lethal doses of the venom into other animals, typically large mammals, and collecting the antibodies produced in response (Domont et al. 1991). In contrast, our project produces LT 15 using genetically manipulated E. coli. There are immense benefits to our project. Primarily, the benefits derive from the use of LT 15 as a universal antivenom in medical settings. With LT 15, medical facilities can carry fewer venom specific antivenoms and more LT 15, reducing storage costs. Additionally, LT 15 could be used as an initial or booster antivenom, for when the active venom cannot be immediately identified. Furthermore, use of LT 15 could decrease the per unit cost of antivenom. Because production of antivenom has high fixed costs but low variable costs, economies of scale exist and the average cost falls as production quantity rises. Since LT 15 could be used universally, we anticipate a large demand for it, leading to a lower cost for per unit of LT 15 than for each antivenom it replaces (Chen et al. 1995). Finally, the use of an E. coli to produce antivenom would nearly eliminate the allergic reactions many patients experience with antivenoms produced in large mammals (Lipps 2000). Current antivenom production yields a large quantity of animal serum with many antibodies, only some of which are venom specific. In order to achieve adequate levels of specific antivenom in the bloodstream, a large
  • 9. Poultry Littering Research Paper Animals in factory farms are given disgusting and improper food their entire lives to fatten them quicker and to increase meat production, which cause detrimental effects on the animal. For example, cows are often fed what is called poultry litter. Poultry litter is a lot what it sounds like: a chicken s discretions scooped up off of a warehouse floor. A typical cup of poultry litter will have feces, feathers, and uneaten chicken feed. This is disgusting in itself, but to make matters worse, chicken feces and feed can contain beef protein, which includes ground up meatand bone. So Big Ag is feeding cows not only chicken poop and feathers, but cow meat too. Cows are indirectly eating each other. And, just to make things worse once more, in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is easy to understand how this can seem hard for people to do, but it is a simple switch, and a beneficial one. Humans do not need animal protein to survive anymore, it is only a delicacy. Maybe a few hundred years ago, when men had to go out and hunt so they would not starve and die, giving up meat would be radical, but, luckily, this is not a few hundred years ago. Go to the grocery store and look at all the tofu or all of the protein peanut butter and cheese provide. Meat is not necessary anymore to sustain life, so why eat it?. This would be the meat industry s wake up call to resolve the serious animal cruelty issues. The primary goal of Big Ag is to make a profit, so when they find that these profits are decreasing, they would be forced to make a change. It would also be beneficial to humans, not just animals. It is scientifically proven that being a vegetarian leads to a longer life. Vegetarians have a lower risk of diabetes, kidney disease and gallstones, and, of course, humans will not be ingesting the awful hormones that the animals are force fed ( 50 Good Reasons... ). If everyone stopped eating meat and throwing money at the meat industry, Big Ag would have to make a change, so animals would no longer be subjected to this torture. Humans do not need meat because the sustenance it provides is found in several other food, and it is healthier, and, most importantly, it would be helping the animals subjected to this torture. Switching to vegetarianism also has other benefits. Research also shows, that it takes about ten kilograms of plant to produce the equivalent of one kilogram of a cow (Archer). This means that it would be quicker and easier to produce more plant material than animal material. There would be more food for people in the end, and if more time is invested in plant production and it produces more, then there is more food to
  • 10. The Importance Of Life On Eternal Life The time has come mark 1:15 (For God so loved the world that he sent his only son to die on the cross for us, for all who believes will not perish but live to eternal life John 3:16) This is when I found out what it really means. I also found out who our real father is..... Do you know? statement I went to Momentum with my church and at the time with my church was Trinity United Methodist Church of Christ (long name I know) but, I had to go there in a van, and that van was very microscopic (by the way you could see the van), I mean that there was like 20 bags in the back we probably couldn t fit one more bag in the back. Mindy had bags in the end of every seat. There were seven of us in the van, I mean just picture me in this van that is smaller than a ford truck, and I m stuck on the right side, just think of it bags piled up so high that I could maybe see the girl that was sitting next to me. That was just very erratic. I was very squished but I was still very jubilant about momentum I mean I was just being crushed in a van to go worship Jesus for a week, you know he sacrificed a lot more things for us than me and some other people in a tiny/ microscopic van. We finally arrived after an hour of driving. We all crawled out of the van like birds that were trapped in a cage forever and just now getting out of the cage. We all were so happy but we were very sullen when we had to carry our luggage into a five story collage apartment and we had to walk up stairs. We crept
  • 11. The Thoracic Ventricle II MDCT angiography of the thoracic aorta: At the point when an acute aortic syndrome (AAS) is suspected (owing either to clinical manifestations or to chest radiographic findings), non enhanced CT is usually done first to search a high attenuation acute intramural hematoma (IMH). The contrast enhanced scanning, which take after is the key part of the CT examination. The right timing of the entry of contrast material in the aorta is basic to picture quality. Approaches to accomplishing this incorporate a timing bolus or a bolus tracking technique (Kazerooni et al, 2009). Technical procedures: Previously, ECG gating has fundamentally been retrospective gating with which information are gathered over the whole cardiac cycle. This allows review of aortic valve morphologic features on static images at end systole and end diastole, measurement of aortic valve surface area and the review of valve leaflet motion in cine mode. Inadequate coaptation of the valve leaflets relates to regurgitation, and a confined opening relates to stenosis (Gilkeson et al., 2006). Additionally, the more up to date prospective triggering technique gathers CT information just at a specified point or cluster of points in the heart cycle, decreasing the time the CT beam is on to a fraction of what it was with retrospective gating, thus considerably decreasing the radiation dose (Shuman et al., 2008). The development of MSCT with more than 16 detector rows has enabled

Literary Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Literary Analysis The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by James Thurber is about a man who routinely fantasizes about himself in other lives. The main character, Walter Mitty, inhabits a world that emasculates him. During an errand run with his wife, Walter repeatedly imagines himself in traditionally masculine roles. The characters he inhabits display distinct masculine qualities such as courage, leadership, aggression, and decisiveness. In direct contrast to this, Mitty shies away from conflict in reality and is often humiliated by women and men. For instance, Mitty s car is a symbol of his inability to meet his own masculine ideals. The man in the parking lot is required to park it for Mitty. His wife sets

Not until the new High School Pastor came, I finally got my answers that I wanted to know. One has to ask themselves, how you achieve a great High School Ministry. To achieve this goal one must have passion for causing long lasting faith, discipleship, relationship, and changing lives. According to Lankford, James. 4 Steps to a Great Start in Youth Ministry. It says to have lasting faith you must have these four domains: Discipleship and spiritual depth, Family influences, Mentoring and intergenerational influences, and Relationships. They disciple them, they build relationships with them, they mentor them and change their lives. They also have their families supporting them. Therefore, they can live a life centered on God. We want the students to have a relationship with God that does not cease. When they leave, the high school ministry we do not want them to fall away. The long last faith is putting full trust in God; with all of our life that lasts forever. Blind trust as it is defined. We want them trust in God has much as we do. Faith is so amazing and when you put, your faith in God. Life is worth living. I remember when I trusted fully in God; with my life, he blessed me with a job, schooling, and amazing friends. We want the students to experience that as well. We try so hard to get through to students because we care that they live a life that is filled with God, which is long lasting. Female patients diagnosed with anxiety, depression and past chronic pain are at increased risk of developing chronic post surgical pain (1). Studies have shown high preoperative anxiety and female gender are the two major risk factors of developing acute postoperative and post chronic surgical pain (1). Several strategies can be used to reduce the patient s anxiety and the incidence of developing acute post operative chronic pain. At the consultation appointment, the clinician should address patient s attitudes and concerns, educate the patient on the dental procedure, and identify the procedures that are likely to cause severe pain (1). Though the purpose of these essays can be very controversial to some, after reviewing all three essays I have picked my favorite, or the one I agree with and disagree with most. We have no Right to Happiness makes a very good argument on the point the author is trying to make. I believe government already helps out people too much already, even if there not as deserving or willing to work for it. Though the right to happiness is chiefly claimed for the sexual impulse, it seems to me impossible that the matter should stay there Lewis said. Sexual happiness is on a whole different aspect. When I first moved to America, labeling /grouping items, people and so on really helped to simplify this new journey. Over the years I am realizing that that s a poor way of view life. • 31. Advantages Of Prestressed Concrete 1.Prestressed concrete is a combination of high strength concrete and steel which can readily be used in prefabricated structures. Prestressed concrete is a procedure where the loadbearing strength of concrete is increased significantly. Basically, it is a concrete in which suitable internal stresses of suitable magnitude and distribution are introduced so that the stresses caused from the external loads are neutralized to an anticipated degree. The benefit of prestressed concrete is that it can be used for construction of large spans (more than 30m) with slender members, even on encountering with heavy loads. As enhanced materials (controlled concrete and high tension steel) are being used, the modulus of elasticity is higher and ultimate creep strain is smaller resulting in the reduction of cross section of the structural components. Due to smaller dimensions, there is reduction in loads causing smaller deflections and lead to saving cost in the supporting members and foundations. Further, the pre stressing technique has eradicated the weakness of concrete in tension obtaining crack free members of structure wherein the tensile zones are minimized and cracks are limited under permanent loads increasing the structural durability consequently. The beat generation made people want to come together and work as a team. Ginsberg went through a lot of things growing up. He was wise. He knew how to lead his fellow beats. He had the experience. Allen prayed for the better, but prepared for the worse. It felt like he wasn t afraid of what would happen to him. Nothing he experienced in his life lead him to have those thoughts. Nothing I had experienced in my life led me to expect what would happen to me in my loneliness(Morgan,2006). I wish I had Ginsberg s mindset. He had 20/20 vision. That is what his fellow beats loved about him. Allen didn t want to take all the credit for all his work and accomplishments. He wanted his fellow beats to be recognized as well. They did things together from city to city and Ginsberg wanted everyone to know that. I like the fact that Ginsberg wasn t a greedy person that wanted all the attention. PART A The Succession (Scotland) Bill passed stage 3 of the parliamentary process on 29 January 2016 and will be brought into force at a future date. Critically evaluate the extent to which the provisions in the bill relating to survivorship and forfeiture represent an improvement to the current legal position. The Succession (Scotland) Bill is currently in the process of being processed in order to alter the current position of Statute in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 and also Trusts (Scotland) Act 1921. The alterations being made are currently disputed as to whether they will create improvements for the functionality of the law of trusts and successions or that they will cause more problems for the courts in passing judgements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Bill introduces a very drastic change to the aforementioned provisions in Section 31 as it states that despite the circumstances when the presumption of order of death is uncertain then neither of the parties are to be presumed to have survived the other, ergo diminishing the current legal stance relating to the general rule that the younger of the parties is presumed to have survived the elder. However this change has the ability to give rights to beneficiaries in both wills rather than vesting in the younger of the two deceased persons. For example if an unmarried couple die and leave wills to each other whom failing their two children then by applying the proposed rule in the bill then both children will receive from the will rather than the younger of the deceased. The idea of the provisions set out in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 were to help benefit the younger person who is presumed to have predeceased the elder so that the possible whom failing clause can be met rather than the estate falling into partial intestacy. A case which illustrates this outcome well is the Ross s Judicial Factor v Martin when both died and the common law rule was applied it was determined that neither would have survived the other. This therefor caused both of the estates to be treated as

The Decision Making Process Criteria ALTERNATIVE APPROACH In retrospect, if the following leadership decision making process criteria would have been followed many children would not have been exposed to molestation. The Freeh report (2012) made more than 100 recommendations for change to be instituted by PSU including restructuring governance; administration and general counsel structure, policies and procedures. Additionally, the university culture needs to transform stressing values and ethics based decision making. A process adjustment is required for compliance, risk and misconduct reporting. The athletic department must be integrated into an oversight and compliance process by the leadership. The programs involving children require greater management leadership with frequent accountability process to be established. Ultimately, the leadership itself that was involved in the case should be transitioned. Another primary recommendation of the report was to appoint an ethics officer to serve as counsel to the President and board on ethics issues and alignment with Penn State Principles. The officer is to establish a council and select a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) with whom ethics initiatives are synchronized. The goal of this council is to emphasize and practice transparency at all levels while communicating openly and frequently with the university around issues. The university was also asked to establish the Penn State Rock Ethics Institute. The Ethics Officer

In the poem, the poet portrays herself as a Nobody and playfully asks the responder Who are you? . Dickinson follows up by adding Are you nobody too?/Then there is a pair of us! this helps Dickinson unite with the responder adding the sense of belonging to one another. In the last stanza, the poet shows how oppressive the somebodies crowd can be Don t tell!/They d advertise you know? This also shows the connection that Dickinson has with being a nobody, and the ability to stand out from the crowd. How dreary to be somebody! shows how the poet loves to be a nobody, and feels like she belongs. Dickinson frequently uses rhythmic dashes to interrupt the flow, and engage the responder to pause to think and feel about the line. The poet also uses juxtaposition in the line How public like a Frog These combining elements are not typically considered together, and, thus, more powerfully conveying its meaning. The poem shows that Dickinson is quite content with not connecting with the somebodies and that the poet enjoys being an outsider to the rest of the world and feels like she belongs to her own little place. In the picture book, The rabbits by John Marsden Shaun Tan it shows the perspective of belonging as connecting to the indigenous Aboriginal land, people and culture. The allegory of the rabbits being

One of the conspirators was Marcus Brutus a good friend and close confidant to Caesar. In Shakespeare s Julius Caesarthe reader is presented with a choice of who to side with, however, the conspirators were validated in their fears of Caesar and his growing influence. If they had not done something then, Rome would have perished. The willingness of citizens to turn against Pompey and, to a certain extent, Rome itself for Caesar is a testament to why the conspirators killed Caesar. • 53. Conflict Between Scotland And England Identity is what forms the core of humanity as it is claimed and sustained in reciprocal role relationships (Thoits, 175). People are constantly defining themselves to fit into a group, ethnicity, or regional identity. It is crucial because humans need the community and culture as the greater the number of identities held, the stronger one s sense of meaningful, guided existence (Thoits, 175). Hence, by having a regional identity and a larger sense of unity as an imagined community gives a sense of security to humans as stated that people s awareness of being part of the global space of flows seems to have generated a search for new points of orientation, efforts to strengthen old boundaries and to create new ones, often based on identities of resistance (Paasi, 475). Humans are partially threatened by globalization as they struggle to maintain identities of what they had in the past; this is demonstrated not just in individuals, but also amongst countries, as with Brexit. In the UK, Scotlandhas had many struggles to sustain their own heritage and regional identity as a separate entity from England. From the basic necessities, like currency, the conflict between Scotland and England can be seen; as the sterling pound in England is different from the sterling pound in Scotland. From the banknotes, it portrays the friction between Scotland and England and amplifies the regional identities of the two areas. The sterling pound is currency circulated around the UK.
