Essays On The American Dream
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essays on the American Dream" can pose a considerable
challenge, given the vast and multifaceted nature of the topic. The American Dream is a concept
that has evolved over time, shaped by historical events, cultural shifts, and individual
perspectives. As a writer, navigating through the complexities of defining the American Dream,
examining its historical roots, and addressing the diverse interpretations can be daunting.
One of the difficulties lies in striking a balance between acknowledging the idealized notion of
the American Dream – often associated with prosperity, success, and upward mobility –
and critically examining its limitations and disparities. The topic invites an exploration of societal
inequalities, systemic barriers, and the evolving nature of dreams in the American context. This
requires a nuanced understanding of historical contexts, socio-economic factors, and the impact
of cultural changes on the perception of the American Dream.
Furthermore, the essay should delve into the role of literature, media, and popular culture in
shaping and reflecting the American Dream. Analyzing the representation of this concept in
different forms of art and media adds another layer of complexity to the writing process.
Crafting a well-rounded essay on the American Dream also involves considering various
perspectives and engaging with diverse scholarly opinions. This can be challenging, as the
discourse around the American Dream spans disciplines such as sociology, history, literature, and
economics. Integrating these perspectives cohesively while presenting a unique argument or
perspective requires a comprehensive understanding of the relevant literature.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "Essays on the American Dream" demands careful
research, critical thinking, and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. The
challenge lies not only in exploring the historical and cultural dimensions but also in addressing
the ongoing discourse surrounding the American Dream. Despite the difficulties, the process of
grappling with this complex topic can lead to a deeper understanding of societal values,
aspirations, and challenges.

The Issue Of The Canadian Election
The 2015 Canadian election was one of great importance that showcased a changing
of guard in the Canadian political context. Key issues in this election were; Bill c 21,
multiculturalism, the refugee crisis, Marijuana legislation, war on terror and ISIS,
and environmental policies. Although these are all pinnacle matters, one of the most
pressing issue was economic policies. Economics policy is what is commonly seen
as the commons man s issues and what might win most people over in an election
cycle. Justin Trudeau and Stephen harper were the campaigns largest attractions

spending policies of the Liberals, with largely different economic views that would...

Trudeau representing a younger generation, with economic commitments to the
middle class, and Harper representing Big business and Canadian bureaucracy.
Harper to nobody s surprise is and was a fiscal conservative, meaning that the
conservative government did not want to spend much, on social welfare programs,
and various other initiatives while balancing the budget. This was perhaps the
election of fiscal conservatism as even left wingers such as The NDP and The Green
Party, who are usually the parties who suggest an easy monetary policy. Trudeau
was only person in this election who was promising an easy money policy, this idea
is not a new one, and it was originally introduced by economist John Maynard
Keynes in the 1930 s. The easy money policy guarantees an increase in aggregate
demand in the economy as the government increases spending and runs large deficits.
This is the same economic plan that would allow Justin Trudeau s father Pierre
Trudeau to prosper as Canadian Prime Minister for 15 years, and is in fact called
Trudeaunomics, based on their own personal brand of financial policies.
Why was the economy such an important aspect of the 2015 election, while not
being at the forefront of other Canadian elections similar too it? While it would be a
stretch in anybody s minds to say that the economic aspect of politics in a key
Asian Population Growth
Population growth is a problem to the Asian populations health, economy and poverty
issues. The one child per family method is an option like what China implemented.
Method like birth control programs are also a way to figure out population growth
issues. One method that china used in the 1980s was to tell the people that increasing
economic growth would help hinder populationgrowth. I dont see how explaining the
harms of over population to the public wouldn t be enough for the public to help fix
this problem. Spreading awareness about contraceptives and not having such young
marriages are also ways to help with this problem.
The one child policy has a lot of exceptions and ethnic minorities do not have to
follow this law. Steep fines would be given out to families that broke the law. Also
if their first child was a girl they were allowed to have another child. There isn t any
exact numbers showing how this law has affected the population growth directly.
There s not a lot of ways to fix this problem so I feel like this has to be a positive
solution to fixing this problem. The fertility rate in China has fallen from 2.8 births
per woman in 1979 to 1.5 in 2010. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Than in 2007 67 percent of women between 17 and 45 used contraceptives. So
more contraceptive use in Asia would definitely help out with the population
problem. Females are actually preferring sterilization with 37 percent of females in
India and 28 percent in china. China actually is one of the highest rate for
contraceptive use in the world. 84 percent of women who are currently married.
Contraceptives has to be one of the best ways to weaken population growth. It is one
of the most used methods throughout the world. Condoms and the birth control pill
were only 3.7 percent used and 1.3 percent used by women 15 49 years
The Big Five Personality Traits, Openness,...
Using some of the Big Five Personality Traits, Openness, Conscientiousness,
Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, the character of John will be brought
to light. John is a common man, a hard worker, a family man, and also happens to be
my dad. But what sets him apart?
For one, He is highly intelligent and great at jeopardy due to all the useless facts
he knows about a variety of subjects. He exhibits a large and rich vocabulary on a
daily basis. Combined with his love of art and music, this would make you think he
is a very open man, if you understood what that meant, and you would be right.
Furthering this evidence that he exhibits a great deal of this trait known as Openness,
he is always taking forever on family trips to take pictures of everything we see,
specifically landscape wise. He also often ponders the meaning of life and what
happens to us after we die, and is always voting for the most liberal candidate in an
election. Openness as has been described through the aspects of my father s
personality is the ability to go against the norm and to see things past what they
appear to be on the surface. When one has a high level of the trait of Openness,
they have a great love of Art and can become easily absorbed in these things. They
are open to novel and innovative ideas and have rich fantasies to create a more
elaborate, striking, and extraordinary world.

Taking a Look at Aviation Operations
supervisor is an air traffic tower chief or an air traffic tower shift leader overseeing
the operations in the tower. As an air traffic controller on position gets their
weather information from a computer, a supervisor may notice that the weather
report is not consistent with tower visibility and decide to change the weather
being reported by the automated system. Another example of a supervisor is a
pilot flying and aircraft on autopilot. The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly
responsible for, and is the final authority as to, the operation of that aircraft (FAA,
2014). In the event that an error occurs during autopilot, the pilot is required to
take over the controls and fix the problem. Human performance under supervisory
control is often poor because of the limited task load placed on operators under
normal conditions (Endsley, 1995). Due to reduced control involvement of the
pilot, the consequences can be a loss of situational awareness and a decay of direct
control skills, which are critical for any midair recovery. Figure 2 below shows
how automation can affect situational awareness. Figure 2. Situational Awareness
is Reduced (FAA, 2013) Monitors The role of systems monitor is as difficult as the
role of supervisor is for humans. The monitor role involves observing and waiting
for a critical process event. For a copilot, a critical process could be a fluctuation on
the temperature gauge or a spike in pressure. The monitor s duty is to scan
Apa Case Study Organic Food
As mentioned earlier NI s parents started to give NI organic food when she develops
the allergy issues. During the interview, the reasons given for such choice are
recommendation from the natural healing coach and their faith that eating organic
food is healthier and will logically help NI combat allergy and eczema. NI s mother
added on that when she herself consumes organic food, she feels more energetic as
compared to previous pregnancy. NI s parents mentioned that previously they love
eating fast food and as they decided to switch over to organic food, they do not face
any significant difficulty in the new diet practice. Mother stays at home taking care
of the children and feeding them home cooked meal, while father will sometimes

The clear conclusions drawn from numerous studies targeting organic food are that
organic food does not equal safe food, does not have clear nutritional advantage
and does not have reduced level of naturally occurring toxins over conventional
plants or livestock (80, 81). Fertilization enriches soils and provides nutrients in
food, regardless of it being organic or chemical fertilizer. Risk of exposure to
microbial contamination is not lower in organic food (82). Level of naturally
occurring toxins such as aflatoxins in peanuts and grains, solanine in green parts of
potatoes, goitrogens in some raw vegetables, and other poisons in mushrooms and
herbs is not affected by the method of growing (81). Pesticides usages are
monitored and will not pose harm to health when applied in regulated manner.
However, the amount of pesticides residue is usually lower in organic food (82).
One observational study and one systematic review found no protective value of
organic food over eczema or atopy diseases (83, 84). Hence the claims being made
over benefits of organic food can be concluded as misleading at best, and there is a
pressing need for proper public education on this issue
`` Architecture And The Crisis Of Modern Science ``
Alberto Perez Gomez, Peter Zumthor, and Steven Holl emphasize on the
phenomenology in their design processes. Their compositions and beliefs are
evidences of the power of phenomenon. In addition, they argue that the sensory
experience between the architectural object and the audience of it should be
complimentary. These designers are famous for reviving the emotion evoking spaces
through expression of light and shadow, material, and intimate human perception. The
manifestation of this theory will be discussed further through the analysis of two case
studies: 1) Therme Vals in Switzerland by Peter Zumthor and 2) Nelson Atkins Art
Museum in Kansas City by Steven Holl.
Alberto Perez Gomez Challenges modern architecture in his book titled Architecture
and the Crisis of Modern Science , and he describes how modern architecture needs
to restate its position towards creation of memories. In addition, he explains that
modern architecture cannot believe in a meaningless structure because nothing in
built form can be meaningless (Rykwert) [11]. Furthermore, he explains how human
perception and the sensorial experience of a space is the origin of architectural
program. He describes human body as the focus of all the rules in the world, and
how human body is occupying space and time. Hence, this existence can push
architecture to create and order that resonates with the body itself (Perez Gomez) [11].
There is a kind of flexibility between the human perception and the rigor inherent
Effective Communication Practices
Effective Communication Practices
Communication is defined as the transfer and understanding of meaning (Robbins
Judge, 2013) and is the foundation of every relationship. There are four main reasons
for communication in business. They are to control, motivation, emotional expression
and information (Robbins Judge, 2013). Without effective communication the sharing
of ideas, information, feelings and questions cannot be completed. There is a process
to communication and when the process is broken communication is not effective. In
business it is a manager s responsibility to understand the process of communication,
the functions of the communications and to minimize any barriers to communication
so that there is effective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some managers or executives are simply poor listeners causing communication to
constantly break down. When a peer or someone at lower or higher level of the
organization is speaking to them, they may be daydreaming, showing lack of
interest, reading, looking around, or listening to another conversation. Because they
are not concentrating on what is being said, they may misunderstand part or the
entire message. They may even believe that they are really paying full attention
only to realize later that they cannot remember parts of the conversation. Receivers
may also bring certain predispositions based on past experiences to the
communication process. They may already have their minds made up, firmly set in
a certain way. For instance, a manager may have heard that his or her new boss is
unpleasant and hard to work with. When the new boss calls the manager for an
introductory meeting, the manager may go into that meeting predisposed to dislike
the new boss and pay little attention to what he or she has to say.
Ways to Improve Communication Effectiveness
Considering how many factors can create roadblocks to successful communication, it
is fortunate that we can resort to numerous techniques for improving communication
effectiveness. The single most important individual skill for improving
communication effectiveness is being a good listener. Being a good listener requires
the individual be prepared to listen, keep interruptions to a minimum, concentrate on
both

Post Campaign Evaluation Paper
post campaign evaluation, organizations would begin to communicate through email
newsletters and social media.
Changing the communication vehicles would not only reach more people, but
illustrate to customers that the organization actively listened. This alteration could
mean significant growth for organizations both in customers and cost savings.
According to Wilcox Cameron (2012), the primary purpose of an evaluation is to
provide feedback that can be used in planning more cost efficient programs for the
future. Its purpose is to study what was done so that it can and will be done better
next time. This is where the cost savings come in (Wilcox, Ault, Agee, 1986, p. 191).
In doing things better the next time and in accordance to campaign assessments,
organizations are safeguarding their reputations. Reputation is a core asset of an
organization and creates barriers to competitive threats (Schreiber, 2011). Established
reputations hinder competitive mobility and deliver returns to organizations because
they are difficult to emulate (Schreiber, 2011). A solid reputation evokes that the
products and/or services offered by the organization are of higher quality (Carmeli
Tisler, 2005) and that the firm is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The organizations that do not conduct them cite costs as one of the primary reasons.
According to Wilcox, Ault, Agee, 1986), hesitation exists among public relations
practitioners and even management to spend money evaluating completed programs
because funds could be used for current or future public relations activity (p. 190).
Other issues include lack of expertise by public relations practitioners not trained in
social science research methods (Wilcox, Ault, Agee, 1986); the time required for
systematic evaluation (Wilcox, Ault, Agee, 1986); doubts about its usefulness and
importance (Yin, Krishnan, Ean,

Coraghessan Boyle is a unique modern author whose work is a mixture of humor
and social exploration. Boyle seems to have a very morbid sense of humor; most
of what he writes pushes the envelope and challenges the meaning of what humor

and first had dreams of being a musician. To this day Boyle still performs in a
garage band and is very passionate about music. Boyle quickly realized in college
that he could not make a living from music and drifted through classes until liberal
arts became his passion. Boyle was successful in schooling from that point on, He

He responds to the Hit Man s knock, expresses surprise at the Hit Man s
appearance. The Hit Man takes Cynthia by the elbow, presses a twenty into her
father s palm, and disappears into the night. This is a very unique first date story
even for the culture of the 80 s which seemed to be more sexually open than ever
before. On an average first date the male usually tries to impress the father and gets
a lecture about what time he should safely bring the daughter home. But the Hit
Man is different and Boyle creates these differences by contrasting the Hit Man to
the social norms of the eighties. The next major event of the story I find
conflicting with the history of T. C. Boyle is when the narrator skims over the
death of the Hit Man s parents. The narrator only gives this event in the Hit Man s
life five lines of the story. When the Hit Man s mother is in the, Hospital dying of
cancer or heart disease, or something the Hit Man doesn t even care; he is out
shooting pool, lifting weights and drinking milk from the carton. Briefly
skimming over these events makes you believe that Boyle didn t have a good
relationship with his parents. When in fact that s quite the opposite, Boyle has
always been a family man and at one point of his life he was even employed at the
same school where his mom was a secretary and his father was a janitor. (Cite this

his life to create a dark

the idea that one main goal, helping students to succeed, can be carried out
throughout different departments to make sure that the strategy, vision and mission

diverse. Many different ethnicities, cultures, and demographics represent the campus
at every level. The ratio of men to women staff and faculty is also pretty even. The
student population is also very diverse. The diversity is the same as the workforce
but the student population also has a socioeconomic diversity since some student
come from lower income families and some from higher income. The student body is
also compromised of more men then women. This could be due to the types of
programs that the Art Institute of California Sacramento offers. One of the biggest
advantages that The Art Institute of California Sacramento has is that is a very
technology driven campus. Many of the programs offered rely heavily on technology.
Due to this, the technology at the campus is constantly getting upgrade to be able to
provide students with the best hardware and software to learn with and allow them to

The throw bot is, the most versatile, robust, stealthy and easy to deploy robot
system in the world. It can survive drops from about fifteen feet and can endure
throws of over fifty feet. It functions at a stunning twenty decibels, which is quieter

footage up to one hundred feet indoors and up to three hundred feet outdoors and
has recently been modified to be able to hear audio. The throw bot is a great tool
that serves its purpose and can be used in many different situations. The throw bot
comes in three different forms. One that has two wheels, one that has four wheels,
and another one that has six wheels. The design with two wheels is cylindrical and
looks like a soda can. It has two wheels at each end and has a small infrared optical
system at the top. Though the design may be stealthy this device is limited when it
comes to rough terrain and small obstacles and has a tendency to deviate when
moving. The four wheeled throw bot has a rectangular shape and big wheels that...

With the negative comments coming from dissidents of the suffrage movement,

the women s suffrage were voiced out saying no women should try to be in
politics, and have no privilege granted to her. The only job of a woman should be
in the home. She can do little good by gadding the streets and neglecting her
children (Sanford, J.B). Arguments would typically be toward how a woman
should be home, cleaning and taking care of her children, and how men should be
able to take care of women. Men were the ones running the government, if a woman
tried to set in the whole structure men organized would be destroyed. They wouldn t
have to vote in order to receive the protection of a man. Why, men have gone to war,
endured every privation and death itself in defense of women. To man, woman is the
dearest creature on earth, and there is no extreme to which he would not go for his

producing a truly entertaining, comedic play with an important message about the
personal dilemmas that we as individuals with different beliefs and values must
encounter in our daily lives.
All elements of the production were wonderfully implemented making The Last
Night of Ballyhoo quite a success. The performers were perfect for the roles in which
they were cast. For example, Lala s (Erin Rae Lengkeek) character is supposed to be a

Not only did it help to aid in giving the viewer an idea of the setting of the play, but
also aided in the over feel and mood of the production.
The technical aspects of the production such as scenery, properties and costumes also
played a keynote in the productions success. The scenery was fabulous it truly made
the play. It was very realistic and extremely vibrant. Almost the entire play was
performed in one setting, except for the railcar and dance scenes. The house, the main
setting, was magnificent with painstakingly placed detail in every corner. All
elements in the house matched wonderfully, for example the furniture, the photos on
the wall, the telephone and even the trash can. Little bits of detail were everywhere
adding to the beautification of the set, for example the lace decorations on the chairs,
the etched glass above the front door and even the Christmas tree.
The properties also were wonderfully used, for example Lala s photograph of
Scarlet O Hara, which she proudly displayed upon her arrival home from the
movies. Many other properties were used though out the play such as the luggage in
the boxcar, the candles on the dinner table and the umbrella given back to Reba
(Lynn Downey) from their previous cook. There were a lot of properties used in the
production, all which aided in the success of the production.
The costumes were also quite beautiful and wonderfully tailored to each character.

The Theory Of The Adlerian Theory Essay
Adlerian theory, also referred to as individual psychology, stresses the need to
understand individuals within their social context (Mosak Maniacci, 2014).
Interestingly, Alfred Adler gave his theoretical framework the name, Individual
Psychology, which derives from the Latin term individuum. The meaning of
individuum translates to indivisible and represents the holistic foundation of
Adlerian theory (Mosak Maniacci, 2014). Adlerians assume that every behavior has
a purpose, causing them to focus on clients style of life , or consistent themes that
occur throughout their life. Mosak and Maniacci (2014) describe Adler s style of
life as, bias apperceptions about self, others, and the world from a self consistent
cognitive and attitudinal set which organizes and directs movement toward the goal
(p. 12). Accordingly, Adlerian concepts revolve around achieving the main tasks of
life through cooperation rather than competition, in work, friendship, love, self task,
and spiritual task (Mosak Maniacci, 2014). Furthermore, this theory focuses on
influences that might encourage the development of exaggerated inferiority, and
how these feelings can push people to better themselves in guiding the self ideal
and altering the way they strive toward success, such as through choices and level of
responsibility. The television show In Treatment introduces a character by the name
of Alex Prince (2008). Alex is a United States Naval pilot who seeks therapy after a

Lobbying and United States
LOBBYING
Introduction
Any association of individuals or organizations, usually formally organized on the
basis of one or more shared concerns, attempts to influence public policy in its
favour. All interest groups share a desire to affect opinion or policy of the policy
makers or target group to benefit themselves or their causes. Their goal could be a
policy that exclusively benefits group members. They attempt to achieve their goals
by lobbying that is, by attempting to bring pressure to bear on policy makers to gain
policy outcomes in their favour. Interest groups are a natural outgrowth of the
communities of interest that exist in all societies. Politics and interests are inseparable.
The common goals and sources of interest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But by far the largest component of this category is government in its many forms. At
the national level, government agencies, such as the British Department for
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, lobby on their own behalf to secure funding or
to prioritize certain issues; at the regional level, public universities lobby the
appropriate government (e.g., provincial governments in Canada and state
governments in the United States) for funding or legislation that benefits them; at the
local level, school boards may lobby the local government for money for a new
school gymnasium or for more funding for educational programs. At the international
level, the United Nations may lobby its members to pay their outstanding
contributions to the organization or to carry out Security Council resolutions.
Although formally organized associations play a predominant role in traditional
lobbying efforts, non associational groups and interests often have an important
influence. Such interests lack a formal organization or permanent structure. They
include spontaneous protest movements formed in reaction to a particular policy or
event and informal groups of citizens and officials of public or private organizations.
For example, French farmers have sometimes held up traffic in Paris to protest
government agricultural policy.
The role of interest groups in public policy making: pluralist
I Sing The Battle Figurative Language
Figurative language can be used to enhance a literary piece in an instant. It is a tool
used by many authors and poets, including the poet Henry Kemp. There are around
10 different types of figurative language. 2 examples of figurative language are
personification and onomatopoeia, which is used in Kemp s poem, I Sing the Battle
. In his poem, the theme of pain in war is clearly shown through the use of figurative
languagesuch as personification and onomatopoeia. Henry Kemp uses
personification throughout his piece to elevate it. In his poem, he talks about the
sights of war. He writes, guns that belchforth death at will (Kemp 1). The guns shoot
out bullets that take away lives at an instant. Guns cannot actually belch like humans
so the reader of the poem has to infer what Kemp meant. Shortly after, Kemp uses

Understanding Community And Social Networks
Understanding community and social networks is important in the Child and Youth
Counsellor (CYC) field in order to help create and encourage positive communities
and networks for the youth within the CYC care. Community and social networks
are important for self esteem, sense of belonging, and overall happier and healthier
individuals. Understanding the communities or social networks within an
individual s life will assist in the appropriate goal making and action planning in
order to meet the individual s needs. As described by Oxford Dictionary, a
community is a group of people living in the same place or having a particular
characteristic in common where as a social networkis a network of social interactions
and personal relationships Examples of a community include neighbourhood, church
or place of employment and examples of social network includes friends, families,
classmates and colleagues. ( Community , 2014; Social Network , 2014). Despite
this traditional definition of a social network, it is also currently described as a
dedicated website or other application which enables users to communicate with each
other by posting information, comments, messages, images, etc. Facebook, twitter
and Instagram are all examples of this. ( Social Network , 2014).
Does the change in the meaning of social networking noted above have an impact on
the traditional community and on youth? Despite the differences between community
and social networking, they are intertwined, and
Burning The American Flag Research Paper
Is burning the American flag freedoms for speech? The Supreme Court says that
burning the American flag is a form of expression that s protected by the first
amendment. Flag burning is something that needed to be protected. Congress
passed the Flag Protection Act in 1989 that stated anyone who knowingly
mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or

carried a message and no one expected that act of civil disobedience was protected

Many people believe it is a threat given to the people especially the White House
and therefore they put up there guards and start taking things seriously. Not long
ago was it when Madonna gave out a speech and that speech said how angry she
was and how she did have an argue to burn up the White House. People saw it as a
threat and now it s all over the news is she should be put in jail for that threat. It is
free speech to say things like that but also a threat and it is not okay because it may
actually happen. For anyone who makes a comment like that about doing something
to the White House or the president it is taken as a threat and they will eventually
do something about it so nothing will actually happen as what was said. For
example, not long ago before trump became president he was saying so many racist
things to the Mexicans and someone who threaten trump was el chapo guzman a
Mexican drug dealer who was triggered about trumps racists comments. Ever since
trump said those things el chapo tweeted something about trump better watch out

Therapeutic Modalities
Using therapeutic modalities is not a new thing in the world. There is evidence it
has been being used since ancient Greek and Roman times. A therapeutic modality is
using a device that helps treat a patient. Examples of commonly used modalities are
heat, cold, massage, or ultrasound. Although therapeutic modalities are the commonly
accepted term for this things, some people do believe that I would be more
accurately described with the name physical agents. Physical agents mean doing a
treatment that results in a change to the patient s body. No matter what you call it, it
is important to understand that you must have formal preparation to use it. Doing so
will make sure you are using the forms as safely as possible and not causing harm.

Knowledge Management as an Organizational Tool Essay
Knowledge Management is a tool that uses internet technologies to put large
amounts of data online using a company s intranet. This set up creates a central
depository of a company s information. This gives all employees within a company
access to the vast wealth of knowledge a company has created. This knowledge can
consist of many different types of information. Some examples are client knowledge,
knowledge of process, knowledge in the memory of the firm, knowledge from
relationships, and physical knowledge (Knowledge Management, 2007, February). A
company can use this information for many purposes. The knowledge can be used for
consistency, authority, empowerment, a single source of truth, or storage clarity
(Musico, C. 2012,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important goal is authority; this makes sure subject matter experts truly have
the final word on the documents they generate (Musico, C. 2012, January). Creating a
single source of truth is important because this allows access to the company s
knowledge from a single source. A knowledge Management system also creates an
ease of collaboration. This collaboration means that employees don t let traditional
organizational and geographical barriers stem the tide of seamless teamwork to
complete complex project. Next, empowerment means more people are compelled to
contribute their thoughts, ideas, and content to help further organizational goals
(Musico, C. 2012, January). Finally, storage clarity means a definitive guidance as to
where exactly particular content should be located (Musico, C. 2012, January). Each
of these goals is important and a great knowledge management system satisfies each
of these goals. Another part of knowledge management is knowing the benefits.
These benefits include but are not limited to: improved productivity, increased agility,
advancing operational effectiveness, Enhancing innovation, and product
development. Each of the benefits listed either save money, time, or both. Any
system that allows a company to save time and money is beneficial. Two examples
of knowledge management are the Xerox Rapper Project, and Microsoft Sharepoint.

Same Sex Marriage And Civil Rights For Same-Sex
Marriage
Same sex Marriage is a question that comes across my path on a consistent basis.
The agency where I work advocates this practice, which requires yearly training
videos to ensure everyone understands the rules of the practice. Although our society
bends the laws to support this practice, I will argue that government laws do not
hold true to God s law or even the law of nature. Additionally, I will argue that
marriage, by natural law, is designed for procreating purposes.
When someone thinks of marriage, it is two people, man, and woman, that have
fallen in love, went through the ceremony, have children, and the circle of life
begins. Marriage has a specific orientation to having children. The first of Augustine s
three goods of marriage children would be inapplicable to covenant partnerships: the
second and third goods faithfulness and the bond of permanence would very much
apply. But marriage has been re ordered by the resurrection of Christ, shares Thatcher.
In contrast, the argument for same sex marriage is that it is just like civil rights of
that African Americans. The civil rights movement and civil rights for African
Americans are nowhere near the same or in comparison to a social agenda pushed
by those for same sex marriages. According to History.com, shares a portion of the
struggle for civil rights for African Americans:
Because large segments of the populace particularly African Americans, women, and

Common American Western Film
There was once a film genre that dominated the silver screens for over 30 years. That
genre is the western, a genre that saw its golden age from the 1930 s to the 1960 s
with classics like Sergio Leone s Dollars trilogy (1964 1966), Once Upon a Time in
the West (1968), and John Ford s The Searchers (1956), though with such films like
James Mangold s 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and David Mackenzie s Hell or High,
westerns in the modern stay still have an audience. Films in this genreusually take
place during the last part of the 19th century not too long after the Civil War, but
there are exceptions to this as some films have taken place during the Civil War itself,
the Battle of the Alamo (1836) or the Mexican Revolution (1910) (Filmsites.org).

Usually, the central plot of the western film is the classic, simple goal of maintaining
law and order on the frontier in a fast paced action story. It is normally rooted in
archetypal conflict good vs. bad, virtue vs. evil, white hat vs. black hat, man vs. man,
new arrivals vs. Native Americans (in those days were depicted as savages), settlers
vs. Indians, lawman or sheriff vs. gunslinger, the rugged individualist vs. the
community, the cultivated East vs. West to name a few. Often the hero of a western
meets his opposite double, a mirror of his own evil side that he must destroy. Typical
elements in westerns include hostile elements (often Native Americans), guns and
gun fights (sometimes on horseback), violence and human massacres, horses, trains

and showdowns, outlaws and sheriffs, cattle drives and cattle rustling, stampedes,

A Brief Biography Of Susan B. Anthony
Susan B. Anthony lived in a time where there were very few rights for women and
African Americans. A strong woman, Anthony was a famous suffragist, often
credited with gaining the right to vote for women, an abolitionist as well as a writer.
Her life was devoted to finding equality for all Americans and she had a significant
impact upon the history of America.
Susan Brownell Anthony was born to a Quaker family on the day of February 15,
1820. Even in her early childhood she spent much of her time with community
service. She had a large family, being the second oldest of eight children, with her
mother and father. Her father was a cotton mill owner. At the age of six, Susan s
father moved the family to Battenville, New York and she began attending a Quaker
school. Unfortunately, it was around this time that the business of her father failed
and Anthony had to move back home to help make money for her family as a teacher.

The zenith of her journey was in 1905 when she received the chance to talk to
Theodore Roosevelt during his presidency to persuade him to give women the
right to vote. Unfortunately, her death shortly followed, in 1906 on March 13 at
the age of 86. It was a cruel end for her. She had given up the greater majority of her
life pursuing liberty and the right to vote for women yet she was not able to see it in
her lifetime.
It took fourteen long years after her death that the 19th amendment was passed
which gave women the right to vote in the year 1920. 73 years after her death she
was given the ultimate honor for her devotion and her commitment to her cause. Her

Essay about Speaking of Courage
Speaking of Courage In the literary work, Speaking of Courage, Tim O Brien
highlights the trying struggle of a post war solider attempting desperately to integrate
himself back into American society. Paul Berlin s trials and tribulations exemplify the
dominance of a citizen culture in the United States, as mentioned by Dr. Deckerin
class. American society does not allow for the soldiers we have sent off to fightto
return as warriors.
While Speaking of Courage is based on Paul s experience after the Vietnam War the
effect of the citizen culture can be seen throughout history. Americans are not
generally known to have an imperial, blood thirsty nature. We choose to conquer the

We see this in Speaking of Courage when Paul is remarking on how no one will
speak to him about the war, even his father would not talk. (pg. 244) It was
Independence Day, the war was over, (and for Paul) there was no place in
particular to go. (pg. 243) O Brien remarks on many of the towns folk and their
preparations for the evening and yet Paul chooses to hide (Dr. Decker) in his fathers
Chevy. One who is more comfortable spending hours driving aimlessly on a summer
holiday, dwelling on medals lost rather than joining in the festivities, can certainly
not be deemed fully integrated back into society. As mentioned in class Paul s
obsessive nature shows his intense need to talk about his experiences and his need for
assurance that he was brave. Unfortunately, in our citizen culture, this is often not
something that we are willing to listen to. Upon returning home, many of the
members of our armed forces are and were viewed as spectral or haunting. Each
soldier can be a reminder of something no one wants to think about: war.
Speaking of Courage seriously captures what it is like for a soldier to attempt to
return to their homeland and have to stop being a soldier due to the citizen culture
that influences his or her society. Americans may be squeamish about war but they
are ready and willing to send our
Gait Rehabilitation
An important aspect of the rehabilitation process is gait training following
amputation. Majority of amputees can regain the ability to walk functional distances
after surgery, but gait deviations are extremely common. Gait impairments contribute
to increasing energy requirements for walking as well as the development of
debilitating musculoskeletal diseases. Transfemoral amputees often demonstrate
deviations in frontal plane kinematics of the pelvis and trunk; they have a
contralateral rise of the pelvis during midstance on the prosthetic limb instead of
maintaining a neutral position. Normalizing this frontal plane deviation following an
amputation is important in restoring a stable gait pattern, but doing so with available

How Should Reverse Auction fit into an Overall Procurement Strategy?
It is quite challenging to discuss about procurement management without stating the
importance of its strategies. There are four main basic procurement strategies that
serve different functions within a procurement management. To begin with, a
Partnership strategy focuses mainly on constructing mutual commitment in long term
relationship with suppliers. While a Secure Supply strategy aims to secure short and
long term supply while reducing risk from suppliers. In addition, a Category
Management and E Procurement solutions serves as a tool to reduce logistic
complexity, improve operational efficiency, and attempts to reduce the number of
suppliers. Lastly, a Competive Bidding strategy emphasizes on obtaining the Best
Deal for short term transactions with suppliers.(van weele) Each of these four
strategies involves a unique purchasing methodology, which implies that the
complexity is embedded in an individual strategic implication. Therefore, it requires
different tools to accomplish the specific strategical characteristics. A businessentity
may need to support and execute procurement decisions with other strategic apparatus
with analytical methods, including market analysis, uncertainty analysis, price
forecasting, supplier relationship and along with others.(Harvard) Due to the fact that
procurement strategies are the focal point in the planning stage of all business firms

branches do not stay bent forever because a child is not heavy enough to
permanently bend the branches. However, these trees are permanently bent from

society should improve to help those sufferingfrom depression. Depression is a

rates and interest rates. Expansionary monetary policycan be achieved through
decreasing interest rates, or by increasing the money supply. Other banks are also
responding to the cash rate cuts, with the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group
(ANZ) dropping their standard variable home loan rate by 0.25 percentage points.
These changes, assuming ceteris paribus, may increase consumer borrowing,
allowing for an increase in consumption.

The demand side policy that the Reserve Bank of Australia has used is flexible,
meaning that it can be changed easily. The monetary authority is able to make
changes quickly depending on the current situation because it is an adaptable
strategy without any political pressure. This doesn t mean that households and
firms are responsive to these changes. If households and firms don t begin
borrowing, then this strategy will not have a large effect on the economy. Also,
consumer confidence is a key aspect to whether or not this demand side policy
works. If households and firms have high levels of confidence in the economy, then
expansionary monetary policy is a more effective due to the increase in consumer
spending that is likely to occur. However, if consumer confidence is low, then a
better approach is to use contractionary fiscal policy because consumer saving is

Introduction
Hurricane Katrina, one of the intense storms, impacted the coast of the United
States. Affecting the central Gulf Coast states of the US; cities such as New
Orleans, LA, Mobile, AL, and Gulfport, MS were impacted by the burden of Katrina
s force. The hurricane was so large that the area sustained forceful winds for hours
before the storm s eye reached land on August 29, 2005. Following the hurricane,
devastated cities across the Gulf Coast suffered floods which caused many to
evacuate. Many homes were destroyed and killed over 1,800 people becoming the
deadliest hurricane since Hurricane San Felipe in 1928.
Summary
The purpose of the study was to examine the pre and post disaster changes among
491 women that were affected and examine their happiness after the hurricane.
These women were surveyed a year before the storm and one to four years after.
Things considered in the survey were as follows: women s happiness, social support,
household characteristics, and hurricane exposure. Results proved that the happiness
of these women decreased a year after the storm. Many factors were in result of the
unhappiness of the women surveyed. These 491women selected to be surveyed
where those who resided in New Orleans, Louisiana. The sample data collected were
from participant part of a program called the Opening Doors study. The study
focused mainly on low income parents enrolled full time at two New Orleans
Transportation Options For A City Rail Link ( Crl )
Auckland is easily navigable with a variety of transportation options that include
personal cars, an excellent public transportation system, and taxis.
PERSONAL CAR: Cars are used as a primary mode of transportation throughout
Auckland. The streets are in excellent repair with clear signage in English. Driver
etiquette is also excellent and traffic laws are typically obeyed. Expatriates usually
choose to drive a small or medium car around the city. Traffic may become congested
during rush hour, especially on and around the Harbour Bridge.
DRIVER: Drivers are not needed. Assignees and families typically drive themselves.
RAIL: Auckland s simple and efficient rail system is commonly used by commuters.

TAXI: Metered taxis are clean and safe to use and serve as a popular alternative
mode of transportation for expatriates. They are sometimes difficult to flag down, but
may be booked in advance via phone. Rates vary depending on the taxi company.
WALKING: It is safe to walk around Auckland during the daytime. Most
neighborhoods are also suitable for pedestrians at night.
FERRY: Ferries across some of Auckland s Harbors are safe for expatriates to use and
are also integrated with the Auckland Transport rail and bussystems.
OTHER: Auckland is also a bike friendly city with numerous bike lanes.
NIGERIA, Lagos
Due to security risks and lack of infrastructure, transportation options in Lagos are
limited. Most assignees will travel via personal car with a hired driver.
PERSONAL CAR: Personal cars are used as the primary mode of transportation in
Lagos. Although the city s main thoroughfares are in good repair, a significant
portion of the secondary and minor roads are unpaved. For this reason, expatriates
commonly purchase large cars or SUVs. Roads are marked in English but signage is
inconsistent, and traffic laws are not always obeyed. Traffic congestion due to
overcrowding is a significant issue in Lagos, especially on and around the few
bridges that connect the city s most popular neighborhoods and commercial centers.
Commuters should expect to pay road tolls.
DRVIER: Drivers are commonly used.
Analysis Of The Metamorphosis Essay

English 1101

On Being Human
Merriam Webster Online defines dehumanization as, to deprive of human qualities,
personality, or spirit (Merriam Webster) This means that a person is denied their own
personal opinions, characteristics, or dreams, in favor of another person overriding
them in favor of their own or for none. Deprivation of these things separates an
individual from the fact that there is a person that is being dealt with in a given
situation. This dehumanization can take place for a variety of reasons, ranging from
self loathing and an unfulfilling existence to an attempt to distance oneself from an
undesirable event or occurrence. It can also range from an overt set of actions as a
person is changed, to willful ignorance, malicious or otherwise, of an individual s
dreams or goals.
Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis , in which the main character, Gregor Samsa,
awakens to find himself changed, contains several obvious examples of this
dehumanization. He has become vermin of some kind, no longer even human.
Deprived even of basic human form, and transfigured into a repulsive creature, this
might be the simplest form of dehumanization that can be displayed. As obvious as
this display, it may simply be an overt example of Gregor s own disgust with himself.
Rather than an actual transformation, the metamorphosis of the title is Gregor s
personal viewpoint of himself as being without worth or value. His behavior becomes
Pointing Gesture Essay
Although infants understandings about the function of the pointing gesture can be an
important factor to the development of the pointing gesture, there is an ongoing
debate about the cognitive mechanisms underlying the interpretation of the pointing
gesture. With the possible interpretation from the egocentric perspectiveof the infants
or the influence of social interaction, this paper suggests the infants ability to
understanding the function of the pointing gesture based on their shared experiences.
However, based on the results of the earlier studies, the research further examines the
infant s ability to infer the adult s social intention in a more complex setting.
Consequently, the two studies discussed in this paper tested the ability... Show more

Furthermore, based on their ability to distinguish the shared experiences with others,
their ability to distinguish different shared experiences with others in real life
situation can lead to further study. Additionally, the result of these two studies is
consistent with the previous findings and moreover, the difference between the result
of these two studies further emphasize the influence of age, memory and the
complexity of the task in the infant s understanding of the pointing gesture in a social
context. This difference might due to the lower memory capacity of 14 months old
infant in the performance of the complex task. Even though, this study highlights the
role of the shared experience to the infant s interpretation of the pointing gesture, the
function of the shared experiences might depend on the infants understanding of the
pointing gestures as an intentionally communicative cue to interpret the situation.
However, there are many possible confounds in these two studies, especially the gaze
of the experimenter can be an important cue to the infants understanding of the
pointing gesture. Although the researchers eliminated the possibility for the infants
to make an association between the presence

Essays On The American Dream. American Dream Essay Conclusion Elegant Essays On the American Dream ...

  • 1. Essays On The American Dream Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essays on the American Dream" can pose a considerable challenge, given the vast and multifaceted nature of the topic. The American Dream is a concept that has evolved over time, shaped by historical events, cultural shifts, and individual perspectives. As a writer, navigating through the complexities of defining the American Dream, examining its historical roots, and addressing the diverse interpretations can be daunting. One of the difficulties lies in striking a balance between acknowledging the idealized notion of the American Dream – often associated with prosperity, success, and upward mobility – and critically examining its limitations and disparities. The topic invites an exploration of societal inequalities, systemic barriers, and the evolving nature of dreams in the American context. This requires a nuanced understanding of historical contexts, socio-economic factors, and the impact of cultural changes on the perception of the American Dream. Furthermore, the essay should delve into the role of literature, media, and popular culture in shaping and reflecting the American Dream. Analyzing the representation of this concept in different forms of art and media adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. Crafting a well-rounded essay on the American Dream also involves considering various perspectives and engaging with diverse scholarly opinions. This can be challenging, as the discourse around the American Dream spans disciplines such as sociology, history, literature, and economics. Key issues in this election were; Bill c 21, multiculturalism, the refugee crisis, Marijuana legislation, war on terror and ISIS, and environmental policies. Although these are all pinnacle matters, one of the most pressing issue was economic policies. Harper to nobody s surprise is and was a fiscal conservative, meaning that the conservative government did not want to spend much, on social welfare programs, and various other initiatives while balancing the budget. This was perhaps the election of fiscal conservatism as even left wingers such as The NDP and The Green Party, who are usually the parties who suggest an easy monetary policy. Trudeau was only person in this election who was promising an easy money policy, this idea is not a new one, and it was originally introduced by economist John Maynard Keynes in the 1930 s. The easy money policy guarantees an increase in aggregate demand in the economy as the government increases spending and runs large deficits. This is the same economic plan that would allow Justin Trudeau s father Pierre Trudeau to prosper as Canadian Prime Minister for 15 years, and is in fact called Trudeaunomics, based on their own personal brand of financial policies. Why was the economy such an important aspect of the 2015 election, while not being at the forefront of other Canadian elections similar too it? Method like birth control programs are also a way to figure out population growth issues. One method that china used in the 1980s was to tell the people that increasing economic growth would help hinder populationgrowth. I dont see how explaining the harms of over population to the public wouldn t be enough for the public to help fix this problem. Spreading awareness about contraceptives and not having such young marriages are also ways to help with this problem. The one child policy has a lot of exceptions and ethnic minorities do not have to follow this law. Steep fines would be given out to families that broke the law. Also if their first child was a girl they were allowed to have another child. There isn t any exact numbers showing how this law has affected the population growth directly. There s not a lot of ways to fix this problem so I feel like this has to be a positive solution to fixing this problem. Using some of the Big Five Personality Traits, Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, the character of John will be brought to light. John is a common man, a hard worker, a family man, and also happens to be my dad. But what sets him apart? For one, He is highly intelligent and great at jeopardy due to all the useless facts he knows about a variety of subjects. He exhibits a large and rich vocabulary on a daily basis. Combined with his love of art and music, this would make you think he is a very open man, if you understood what that meant, and you would be right. Furthering this evidence that he exhibits a great deal of this trait known as Openness, he is always taking forever on family trips to take pictures of everything we see, specifically landscape wise. He also often ponders the meaning of life and what happens to us after we die, and is always voting for the most liberal candidate in an election. Openness as has been described through the aspects of my father s personality is the ability to go against the norm and to see things past what they appear to be on the surface. When one has a high level of the trait of Openness, they have a great love of Art and can become easily absorbed in these things. As an air traffic controller on position gets their weather information from a computer, a supervisor may notice that the weather report is not consistent with tower visibility and decide to change the weather being reported by the automated system. Another example of a supervisor is a pilot flying and aircraft on autopilot. The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly responsible for, and is the final authority as to, the operation of that aircraft (FAA, 2014). In the event that an error occurs during autopilot, the pilot is required to take over the controls and fix the problem. Human performance under supervisory control is often poor because of the limited task load placed on operators under normal conditions (Endsley, 1995). Due to reduced control involvement of the pilot, the consequences can be a loss of situational awareness and a decay of direct control skills, which are critical for any midair recovery. Figure 2 below shows how automation can affect situational awareness. Figure 2. Situational Awareness is Reduced (FAA, 2013) Monitors The role of systems monitor is as difficult as the role of supervisor is for humans. The monitor role involves observing and waiting for a critical process event. For a copilot, a critical process could be a fluctuation on the temperature gauge or a spike in pressure. The clear conclusions drawn from numerous studies targeting organic food are that organic food does not equal safe food, does not have clear nutritional advantage and does not have reduced level of naturally occurring toxins over conventional plants or livestock (80, 81). Fertilization enriches soils and provides nutrients in food, regardless of it being organic or chemical fertilizer. Risk of exposure to microbial contamination is not lower in organic food (82). Level of naturally occurring toxins such as aflatoxins in peanuts and grains, solanine in green parts of potatoes, goitrogens in some raw vegetables, and other poisons in mushrooms and herbs is not affected by the method of growing (81). Pesticides usages are monitored and will not pose harm to health when applied in regulated manner. However, the amount of pesticides residue is usually lower in organic food (82). One observational study and one systematic review found no protective value of organic food over eczema or atopy diseases (83, 84). Hence the claims being made over benefits of organic food can be concluded as misleading at best, and there is a pressing need for proper public education on this issue

Their compositions and beliefs are evidences of the power of phenomenon. In addition, they argue that the sensory experience between the architectural object and the audience of it should be complimentary. These designers are famous for reviving the emotion evoking spaces through expression of light and shadow, material, and intimate human perception. The manifestation of this theory will be discussed further through the analysis of two case studies: 1) Therme Vals in Switzerland by Peter Zumthor and 2) Nelson Atkins Art Museum in Kansas City by Steven Holl. Alberto Perez Gomez Challenges modern architecture in his book titled Architecture and the Crisis of Modern Science , and he describes how modern architecture needs to restate its position towards creation of memories. In addition, he explains that modern architecture cannot believe in a meaningless structure because nothing in built form can be meaningless (Rykwert) [11]. Furthermore, he explains how human perception and the sensorial experience of a space is the origin of architectural program. He describes human body as the focus of all the rules in the world, and how human body is occupying space and time. Hence, this existence can push architecture to create and order that resonates with the body itself (Perez Gomez) [11]. There is a kind of flexibility between the human perception and the rigor inherent

Without effective communication the sharing of ideas, information, feelings and questions cannot be completed. When a peer or someone at lower or higher level of the organization is speaking to them, they may be daydreaming, showing lack of interest, reading, looking around, or listening to another conversation. Because they are not concentrating on what is being said, they may misunderstand part or the entire message. They may even believe that they are really paying full attention only to realize later that they cannot remember parts of the conversation. Receivers may also bring certain predispositions based on past experiences to the communication process. They may already have their minds made up, firmly set in a certain way. For instance, a manager may have heard that his or her new boss is unpleasant and hard to work with. When the new boss calls the manager for an introductory meeting, the manager may go into that meeting predisposed to dislike the new boss and pay little attention to what he or she has to say. Ways to Improve Communication Effectiveness Considering how many factors can create roadblocks to successful communication, it is fortunate that we can resort to numerous techniques for improving communication effectiveness. The single most important individual skill for improving communication effectiveness is being a good listener. Being a good listener requires the individual be prepared to listen, keep interruptions to a minimum, concentrate on both

The Theory Of The Adlerian Theory Essay Adlerian theory, also referred to as individual psychology, stresses the need to understand individuals within their social context (Mosak Maniacci, 2014). Interestingly, Alfred Adler gave his theoretical framework the name, Individual Psychology, which derives from the Latin term individuum. The meaning of individuum translates to indivisible and represents the holistic foundation of Adlerian theory (Mosak Maniacci, 2014). Adlerians assume that every behavior has a purpose, causing them to focus on clients style of life , or consistent themes that occur throughout their life. Mosak and Maniacci (2014) describe Adler s style of life as, bias apperceptions about self, others, and the world from a self consistent cognitive and attitudinal set which organizes and directs movement toward the goal (p. 12). Accordingly, Adlerian concepts revolve around achieving the main tasks of life through cooperation rather than competition, in work, friendship, love, self task, and spiritual task (Mosak Maniacci, 2014). Furthermore, this theory focuses on influences that might encourage the development of exaggerated inferiority, and how these feelings can push people to better themselves in guiding the self ideal and altering the way they strive toward success, such as through choices and level of responsibility. The agency where I work advocates this practice, which requires yearly training videos to ensure everyone understands the rules of the practice. Although our society bends the laws to support this practice, I will argue that government laws do not hold true to God s law or even the law of nature. Additionally, I will argue that marriage, by natural law, is designed for procreating purposes. When someone thinks of marriage, it is two people, man, and woman, that have fallen in love, went through the ceremony, have children, and the circle of life begins. Marriage has a specific orientation to having children. Analysis Of The Metamorphosis Essay Ronald Blackwell Valerie Thomas English 1101 17 November 2016 On Being Human Merriam Webster Online defines dehumanization as, to deprive of human qualities, personality, or spirit (Merriam Webster) This means that a person is denied their own personal opinions, characteristics, or dreams, in favor of another person overriding them in favor of their own or for none. Deprivation of these things separates an individual from the fact that there is a person that is being dealt with in a given situation. This dehumanization can take place for a variety of reasons, ranging from self loathing and an unfulfilling existence to an attempt to distance oneself from an undesirable event or occurrence. It can also range from an overt set of actions as a person is changed, to willful ignorance, malicious or otherwise, of an individual s dreams or goals. Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis , in which the main character, Gregor Samsa, awakens to find himself changed, contains several obvious examples of this dehumanization. Additionally, the result of these two studies is consistent with the previous findings and moreover, the difference between the result of these two studies further emphasize the influence of age, memory and the complexity of the task in the infant s understanding of the pointing gesture in a social context. This difference might due to the lower memory capacity of 14 months old infant in the performance of the complex task. Even though, this study highlights the role of the shared experience to the infant s interpretation of the pointing gesture, the function of the shared experiences might depend on the infants understanding of the pointing gestures as an intentionally communicative cue to interpret the situation. However, there are many possible confounds in these two studies, especially the gaze of the experimenter can be an important cue to the infants understanding of the pointing gesture. Although the researchers eliminated the possibility for the infants to make an association between the presence
