Essays On Social Networking
Writing an essay on the topic of social networking can be both intriguing and challenging. On
one hand, social networking has become an integral part of our daily lives, influencing how we
communicate, share information, and build connections. On the other hand, the vast and
dynamic nature of the subject presents a complex landscape to navigate.
To begin with, the ever-evolving nature of social networking platforms requires thorough
research to capture the latest trends, technologies, and societal impacts. Keeping up with the
rapid changes in the digital sphere can be demanding, as new platforms and features emerge
frequently. This dynamic environment makes it crucial for the essay writer to stay updated and
informed.
Moreover, delving into the social, psychological, and cultural aspects of social networking adds
layers of complexity. Analyzing how these platforms shape human behavior, influence
relationships, and impact mental health demands a nuanced understanding of various disciplines.
Addressing both the positive and negative aspects requires careful consideration and a balanced
perspective.
Crafting a coherent and engaging narrative is another challenge. Organizing the information
logically, maintaining a clear thesis, and providing relevant examples are essential elements of a
successful essay. Striking a balance between depth and conciseness can be tricky, as there is a
vast amount of information available on the topic.
Furthermore, the potential ethical concerns associated with social networking introduce a layer
of sensitivity. Discussing issues such as privacy, misinformation, and the influence of algorithms
requires a thoughtful and responsible approach. Balancing the exploration of these ethical
dimensions while maintaining an objective tone is crucial to creating a well-rounded essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on social networking involves navigating a multifaceted
landscape that encompasses technology, sociology, psychology, and ethics. Staying informed,
addressing the evolving nature of the topic, and presenting a balanced perspective are essential
components of a successful essay on social networking.

My Experience With An Explosive Worker
While thinking about goals in life, most people have the same thought. Most
everyone wants to get married, have a kid or two, great job and a beautiful house.
With me being thirty now, my goals are different. At this point in my life, I m
wanting to complete my degree, own a home, and also be more financially secure.
Since I was in the military prior to this point in my life, I was able to pick a career
that I had experience with. I went with Explosive Worker since I had had the
opportunity to earn some experience with it while in the military; it also offers a
chance for travel and more job opportunities; and it can be a very fun and
rewarding career. Where else can you blow stuff up and call it a job? I have
always enjoyed playing with fireworks as a child and watching explosions in
videos. With this job, I would get to enjoy it and get paid. The career I picked was
an Explosive Worker and my personality test came back with me being The Duty
Fulfiller. According to my personality test, I am interested in security and peaceful
living, extremely thorough, responsible and dependable. Using the GCIS, I was
able to narrow down some career choices that I might enjoy. These are all very
important in the life of an explosive worker. Explosive workers have to be able to
be trusted with all the power that they control, and must be dependable to make sure
they do not screw up their calculations and placement of the explosives. If an
explosive worker is not responsible, their screw
Women and Sexuality in Aphra Behn s Poems Essay
Women and Sexuality in Aphra Behn s Poems
All women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of AphraBehn, . .
. for it was she who earned them the right to speak their minds. (Woolf 91)
Born in 1640, AphraBehn broke gender stereotypes when she undertook a thrilling
(if unrewarded) life as a spy for the Crown, but it was her scandalous career as
an author which truly achieved many firsts for women. She was the first woman to
supporthereself financially by solely relying on the profession of writing, and
many readers argue that Oroonoko her passionate tale about the institution of
slavery was the first English novel. She was certainly one of the first female

Likewise pursued, in The Disappointment, Behn s young
virginal maiden takes her sexual destiny into her own hands (literally), leaving
her would be lover impotent, an outcast from what used to be his realm of power.
Thus in The Willing Mistress and The Disappointment, Behn confers power to
women by creating an environment of sexual freedom in which female sexuality is
natural, strong, comfortable, and driven by pure desire.
In the Middle Ages, if a woman wanted to express herself in writing, she was
limited to expressions of religious faith, as were Julian of Norwich and Margery
Kempe. Any rapture described in the literature of this period was usually
reserved for Christ, prompted by the ecstatic realization of an eternal life. In
the 16th and 17th centuries, women writers were still largely limited in how
they were permitted to express themselves. While writing about love became more
socially acceptable, most examples still presented a romanticized perspective in
which passion was inextricably linked to emotional involvement. There are
glimpses of sexuality, such as when Anne Bradstreet in A Letter to Her Husband,
Absent Upon Public Employment refers to her children as those fruits which
through [her husband s] heat I bore and yearns for him to return and warm her
chilled limbs (Lines 14; 11). However, even this

Health And Marriage Concerns Associated With Shift Work
Health and Marriage Concerns Associated With Shift Work Maintaining good
health and a wonderful marriage can be one of the toughest balancing acts an
individual will have to deal with in their lives. Performing some type of shift work
may play a huge role in the outcome and duration of a person s life. There are many
careers in a twenty four hour economy that consist of working shifts other than the
normal eight to five work day. For instance, careers in the medical profession, public
safety profession, service industry and manufacturing; all require employees to work
some kind of shift work. Therefore, be prepared to work some type of shift work
when choosing a career in these professions. Unfortunately, workers who choose a
career known to be associated with shift work may be risking their health and
marriage. Many studies have been performed on individuals who work shift work
and the results differ with each study. However, there is evidence that shows
working other than a traditional workday, negatively affects an individual s health
and marriage. Shift work is known to create issues that affect a person s health and
marriage. Considered to be nonstandard working hours, shift work is performing
work while working other than the traditional eight to five work days. Examples
include, but are limited to night shift (3 11 or 11 7) and rotating shifts from days to
nights; daily, weekly and monthly. Overtime hours can also be considered part of
shift work, since they require
The Impact of John Deere Essay
The Impact of John Deere Nowadays more and more people are unaware of where
their food comes from. Mankind now lives in an age where technology is the main
focus and the rural way of life is becoming a thing of the past. The ability to
produce food is so efficient and effective that some people do not even realize how
their food gets to their plate. But that was not the case in the 19th century. In 1837, a
man named John Deere changed farming forever. In the coarse of human existence,
civilizations have made farming their primary source for food. As long as farming
has been around, agricultural implements have been used to farm the land. Scientists
believe that the first plows that were used, date back to 4,000 B.C. These plows were

Data has proven that he was correct about the exponential growth (Blackwell
Tompkins, Danley, Egan, Saffron, Silsby 4). So how has the human race been
able to produce enough food? Obviously something happened that increased crop
production, and made growing food more efficient. By the 19th century, American
frontiersmen were moving west. The farmers experienced much heavier and
stickier soils than they had been accustomed to in the east. The soil would stick to
the moldboard and a man would have to stop and scrape it off every few steps.
(Anderson) A strong man using a modern spade still took an estimated ninety six
hours to till an acre of land (Drache 2). The cast iron plows with a wooden
moldboard had worked great in the light, sandy soils of New England, but
something different was needed in the west. This is where John Deere had to step
in. John Deere was born in Rutland, Vermont on February 7, 1804. When John was
17 he apprenticed himself to a black smith for 4 years. After that he immediately
went into the blacksmithing business. John borrowed money to build his own
blacksmith shop. Tragically, his shop was destroyed by fire not only once, but two
times. John could not pay off his debt and facing bankruptcy, he made the decision
to head west where he could find work, and be able to pay off his debt (Nortrax). He

Part 2: Response
Write a 350 word response to the following question: How Jeffersonian was Thomas
Jefferson as president?
Jefferson doesn t fit neatly into the label Jeffersonian . Jefferson s commitment to the
separation of church and state, his Virginia Act for Establishing Religious Freedom,
adopted in 1786, barred government from taxing to fund churches. As president, he
wrote that he respected the First Amendment s wall of separation between church and
state. Yet he allowed and attended religious services in the U.S. Capitol and used
federal funds to finance Christian missions to Native American nations. Jefferson
hoped that converting Indians would induce them to embrace private property and
live like their white neighbors.
Jefferson s embrace of strict construction, or limiting the federal government to
powers explicitly granted by the Constitution, also masks contradictions. When in
1803 Jefferson learned

This theme teaches the reader a point that takes part through

My Evaluation: Ender s Game worked well with me and my thinking process, so I
had no
issues understanding what went on throughout the story. Compared to other books in
the same
genre, I think the author did great making the story understandable and comparable to
humankind and life struggles. Even though the story took place in space, the
struggles Ender

their own emotional battles (all at different levels).

Throughout History Scholars Have Typically Portrayed Eve
Throughout history scholars have typically portrayed Eve as the sole creator of
sin. In Genesis, Eve is described as a weak female who ultimately felt that worldly
possessions were deemed more important than God s word. However; Eve can also
be depicted as loyal, compassionate, and compliant. In retrospect Eve is not as
powerless as she is illustrated throughout literature.
When reading any type of literature about Adam and Eve, you are most likely
persuaded that she was the start of messing up mankind. Eve was known for being a
weak women and having a vein personality. Although, Eve was known for all of
these ruthless things, in literature, readers are never fully aware of how compliant,
loyal and passionate she was to her significant ... Show more content on

Like all humans, we obsess over worldly possessions and things that we have never
seen before.
Eve may have had an abundant amount of freedom, yet when you do not know any
better and do not fully understand the concept of sin you are open to any ideas. This
does not make Eve an antagonist. Eve was strong enough to understand that she made
a mistake that furthermore changed the outlook of mankind. The resulting book,
Adam and Eve and the serpent argues that the earliest Christian ideas about
sexuality, freedom and sin have come down to us today only by way of a fair
amount of manhandling... Literature only lets readers view one side of this. Eve did
not fully understand the concept of sin, therefore if you do not know what something
means you cannot be labeled as a bad person.

This strike was considered one of the nation s largest strikes in 30 years and

effectively shutting down the operations of UPS for 15 days and costing the

At some point in our lives we stop and think of the things we do or say and come to
an understanding of what we are, who we are. We acknowledge our place in
society and the certain contributions we have towards it. It may or may not be
incredibly outstanding in a sense but that alone allows us to realize our importance.
There are examples of this in the two stories I will be comparing and contrasting.
John Updike s A P and Franz Kafkas A HungerArtist . A protagonist s actions should
not dictate their role as a hero or a be all and end all. In John Updike s A P we are
introduced to the main character, Sammy, a cashier at a supermarket in a small
town. He is a person not like the others at this store. While others are conservative
and boring, Sammy is someone who feels he is at the wrong place at the wrong
time every single day. But this certain day, in comes girls in their bathing suits. It
quickly catches his eye because bikinis in a grocery store are unusual. It does not
weird him out, it interests him. He takes long glances and observes them as they
wander through the store. Watching their every move and describing every small
detail of each and one of them. It is somewhat perverted because at the time, he
sees them as objects, as eye candy. He judges them based on assumptions of what
they are doing and wearing and even singles out the queen of the group. Sammy
describes her in a very condescending way. Do you really think it s a mind in there or
just a little buzz like a bee in a glass jar? is quite a misogynistic view of how women
s minds work.
Our initial impression of Sammy would cause us to think that he hates women but
it is the complete opposite. He just has a very imaginative mind with different
opinions. The girls finish shopping and enter Sammy s lane. As he is ringing them
up, Lengel, the store manager walks in and notices the girls. He scolds them on
their clothing choice and demands appropriate attire from them. The girls get
embarrassed and Sammy clearly sees that. As they begin to walk out of the store,
Sammy quits his job because he wants to be seen as the bigger person in that whole
situation, a hero. When he leaves the store, the girls are gone. They were not around
to see his
The Indignados Identity
Finally, relationships and practices discussed are connected at various levels with the
broader discourse which is transmitted to the public and interacts with which returns
the system . Originally, the indignados identity is built on a series of specific
demands fight against unemployment, housing rights and quality public services,
among others that need not necessarily relate to the submission of the political
powers to markets . At the time in which the movement took the Spanish streets and
identity began to be constructed around the political , each of these demands was no
longer the simple sum of their individuality, but their articulation in an open system
of differential relations. As noted, the hegemonic logic follows two

Persuasive Essay For Public Charity
Introduction Over 1 million public charities are currently existing in the United
States. The purpose of these charities is to address a concern that one may see.
These public good deeds are usually funded by donations from individuals or
organizations; Therefor, this gives people the option of choosing which charities will
receive funds. Minerva Gaskill, owner of Acme, Inc., is currently looking for three
charities to donate to. As Gaskill s consultant, there will be three charities that will be
examine, Children International, Kids Wish Network, and Make A Wish Foundation.
Each charities will have a background, their finances analyze, and their actions in the
community. Ending with the recommendation of which charity would be the best
opinion. Children International This charity was organized to end poverty. They aim
on eliminating poverty in various locations around the world such as Colombia,
India, and Ecuador. They focus on the lives of children in these locations and
providing them with opportunities to change their lives. Children International s
view are not set to weeks, they are set to improving the world in the long term. This
kind of thinking relates to an economic view point of improving the economy. The
government would facilitate the access to education, in hopes of progressing the
economy in the long run. This charity is acting as the government in the sense of
making education and life better for children, so that they can change the future of
the world. They also build centers for children, so that the kids would have ...access
to medical offices, libraries, playgrounds and more. This makes them different from
other organizations, and the four key outcomes. Their focus is on the health,
education, empowered, and employment when they graduate. They are all
interconnected by the final goal of ending poverty ( About Us ). Financial Analysis
At the end of Children International s fiscal year, they accumulated $188 million in
revenue on September 30, 2015. Almost all of the revenue is from private donors,
and the rest of the revenue comes from other income. Since this charity s revenue is
heavily from donors, this organization relies on donations to continue their daily
operations. As for
Critically Evaluate the Management Model of Baumol
Under the traditional economic understanding, it is always assumed that profit
maximization is treated as the main goal or objective for businesses, subject to
perfect knowledge, single entity and rational logic. However, as illustrated by the
principal agency problem, managers do not usually make rational decision entirely
like owners who take company interest as their sole basis for their decisions. Past
examples have shown that managers do take their own personal goals and
satisfactions as consideration in their decision making. In addition, information
gathering is not always perfect as managers do make decision by relying solely on
the implicit knowledge gained from past experiences, without referencing to the

As service providers, consistent and frequent service failure could prove to be
fatal in term of their survival and their long term brand reputation. Therefore it
would make sense for telecommunication firms to divert the peak hours traffic into
non peak hours by using a price discrimination strategy which segments the users
based upon their willingness and abilities to pay. For instance, business users are
willing to pay higher price for peak hours usage due to their inelastic demand
whereas in contrast, leisure users demand is elastic and are willing to make call
during off peak hours in return for lower price. By adopting the price
discrimination strategy, telecommunication firms are able to maximize sales
revenue during peak and off peak hours by balancing the air time traffic based upon
different market segment of users. At this point, it is also noticeable that one of the
characteristics of Baumol firms lies in the perishable products/services offered
which cannot be inventoried. The loss sale of the day on the unutilized capacity

huge/large corporations, but also to small retailers like bakery shop or wet market,
which explains the reason why some bakery shops offer a special discount one
Did Erasmus Lay the Egg Luther Hatched
Did Erasmus lay the egg that Martin Luther hatched?, this is such a complex question.
One would have to take into consideration that Luther and Erasmus did not think to
keenly of each other, and disagreed on many factors. Especially with one being of the
catholic faith and the other reforming against Catholicism and protesting against the
pope himself. Even though they both had their differences, they did both conclude
that there was something wrong with the catholic churchand therefore Desiderius

The John Brown And The Pottawatomie Massacre
On May 24, 1856, John Brown and his small army of men raided Lawrence, Kansas,
killing five unsuspecting civilians. The attack ended in the capture and hanging of
Brown, as the action was seen as treasonous. Since this event, debate has incessantly
surrounded the figure due to the violence and morality of the situation. Despite the

alternative options.
The event, known as the Pottawatomie Massacre, is one of honorableness since it
was enacted to promote the liberty of the real victims of the time, the slaves. To only
acknowledge the five civilians as the targets would be to ignore the history of deaths
in the slave community and the then current 3.2 million

these to their report, together with 100 to 200 words of description. Marks will be
given for output curves that are smooth and regular, and also for plots that show
output over a wide range of SNR. After running the file or the m file given in
simulation.zip sim_multiple_hiperlan2a_1.m , got the curve that displays BER bit
error rat against SNR signal to noise ratio . Using BER is to calculate the
performance of the transmitter, the receiver and the channel system. Figure 7
below represents the BER curve against SNR and the received signal for the
default value of SNR (1:10). It is clear that the curve is not smooth and regular as
result of the low value of the SNR and the error or the target number of the error.
Figure 7: The BER curve and the received signal for SNR value of 10. Also, The
BER curve can be improved by the target number of the error. It means that the value
of that number can be adjusted in Error Rate Calculation block in the

figure 7, the value of the target number of error was 1000,
Specialty Nursing Paper
Specialty nursing has evolved over time to include many types of nursing such as
informatics, pediatrics, mental health nursing and gerontology to name a few. Not
all specialties involve direct patient care as administration is also a nursing
specialty. A specialty role is established when the needs of patients change (Hamric,
Tracy O Grady, 2014). For this assignment, the role of nursing informatics will be
compared with several advanced practice nursing roles. Computers were first seen in
the hospital setting in the 1960 s. Most of the time these computers were in hospital
basements and used for activities such as ordering, charging and patient billing
(Murphy,2010). Nurses who were initially involved in informatics were typically good

Nurse midwives are advanced practice master s degree or higher prepared nurses
who specialize in the care of women from adolescence to menopause (Presley,
2014). Nurse midwives provide primary care, gynecologic care, family planning,
preconception care, care during pregnancy and childbirth, postpartum care, care of
the normal newborn during the first month of life, and treatment of male partners
for sexually transmitted infection (Presley, 2014). Nurse midwife dates back to
1920 s and care was mainly provided in rural areas where access to healthcare was
limited and there was a high infant death rate (Presley, 2014). Nurse midwifes are
even more common today as the still practice in rural areas but are also in many
hospital settings. The nurse midwife role was thought to lower costs related to
pregnancy and childbirth while also improving the quality of care. Nurse midwives
provide direct patient care but still work with those in nursing informatics when using
electronic charting. A nurse midwife in a rural setting can use the same charting
system as providers in a large hospital meaning that they can communicate and share
patient information when collaborating on a patient s
Biomechanics Of The Tympanic Membrane

BIOE 154: Introduction to Biomechanics
Professor Norman
Biomechanics of the Tympanic Membrane
Background: Over the past years, bioengineers have applied different methods for
modelling the human ear. The human ear is an intricate biomechanical system with
its primary function to sound perception and reception. The ear is divided into 3 main
components, each with its own unique functions: the outer ear (pinna), the middle
ear, and the inner ear. The outer ear, or the pinna, consists of the auricle, the skin
covered cartilage of the ear visible on the outside of the head, as well as the
opening to the auditory canal. The middle ear refers the air filled hollow space
(tympanic cavity) behind the eardrum or tympanic membrane. The tympanic
membrane is a thin, cone shaped membrane that separates the outer ear from the
middle ear (Figure 1a). The tympanic membrane is made up of two main parts: the
fragile pars flaccida (upper region) and robust the pars tersa (lower region). The pars
tersa, composed of three layers: skin, fibrous tissue, and mucus, makes up the
majority of the tympanic membrane. The pars flaccida is often associated with
eustachian tube malfunctions and choleostomas, whereas the pars tersa is associated
with perforations. There are 3 bones, the malleus, incus, and stapes, in the middle ear
(Figure 1b) that vibrate when exposed to the vibrations of the sound waves. The
malleus is attached to the medial surface of the tympanic

Research Paper On Secondhand Smokers
Smoking is harmful to the smoker and anyone around them, including your baby. The
health problems that are associated with smoke inhalation range from low
birthweight to death. When a child dies due to unexpected reasons, we call it SIDS or
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Unfortunately, there are no signs or symptoms
associated with SIDS but removing cigarettesmoke can reduce the risk upwards 80%.
The dangers of cigarette smoke does not end with the smoker. In fact, there are two
separate types of exposure; second and third hand. Secondhand exposure occurs when
someone else breaths in air released from the cigarette.
Since 1964 approximately 2.5 million non smokers have died from problems
associated with secondhand smoke. Studies have shown that secondhand smoke
affects over a million children everyday. Some of the dangers associated with this
exposure include ear infections, respiratory problems and tooth decay. In fact, many
smokers believe that smoking outside can prevent this exposure, when in all actuality
it does not. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For many people third hand smoke is seen more than secondhand smoke. Third hand
smoke is the residual nicotine and unthought of chemicals that stick around. This
smoke can build up on hair, skin, furniture, curtains, walls, and so much more. This
shows us that touch, inhalation, and ingestion are all ways someone can be affected
by cigarettes. The worst thing is normal cleaning products will not touch it. So how
does one protect those around them? They create a smoke free environment and stick
to it!
Smoking affects not only yourself but others around you including your pets.
Research has shown that secondhand smoke exposure can lead to cancer, allergies,

was, almost everyone had an imaginary friend. Imaginary friends however, are often
outgrown and for the most part, forgotten. Authors have special relationships with
their characters. They channel their hopes and dreams into a fictional entity and this
allows them to live one thousand lives the way they wish they could. One example of
this is in Ernest Hemingways novel, A Farewell To Arms

Nonetheless, traumatic events like the many Hemingway experienced during the
war leave an impact on the witness. In most cases, soldiers leave warfronts with a
form of post traumatic stress disorder, or ptsd ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 1).
Often those diagnosed with ptsd are also diagnosed with depression ( PTSD:
National Center for PTSD 1). Clearly, Hemingway had undiagnosed depression and
his suicide confirms it ( Ernest Hemingway 3). The combination of ptsd and
depression could have led to Hemingway forming his own alter ego. The alter ego
would allow him to, in his mind at least, become another person with another
temperament, similar to what a method actor does (Rodgers 3). This could explain
the great adventures Hemingway had in between his writing, anything adventurous
from bullfighting to deep sea fishing, he did it ( Ernest Hemingway 2). The coming
and going of these adventures may have been the result of his mental state, the
good days were the grand adventures, and the bad days were the ones at home,
revisiting the war, swallowed up by his ptsd ( Depression 2). Perhaps on these days
at home he imagined what could have been if he had done one thing differently, that
s how Frederic Henry came along.
Frederic Henry is an American ambulance driver for the Italians that loves Catherine

The Pros And Cons Of Natural Hair Braiding
Braiding without a license or any kind of permit is becoming more and more
prominent in the US. This braiding is most commonly referred to as natural hair
braiding, this is a type of African braiding.Since African style braiding does not use
dyes or chemicals, this causes some people to believe that it is reasonable to braid
without a license. There are many reasons that natural hair braider is not the best
option, some examples of these things are that they can have unsafe salon conditions
and environment, there are also other people that get their license and put the time
and effort in to preceding this carer, and finally so these braiders are kept safe.
When someone goes and has, their hair done they want it to look good. There are
some really good braiders out there who were taught how to braid in a very young
age and have been braiding for years. Since they ve been braiding for years then
they should be good and know how to properly braid but sometimes people don t
know all the different things they need to know.Things that a braider should know
are how to spot contagious and communicable diseases, what alopecia looks like and
how they can braid the hair where its no to taunt against the head.
Alopecia is a type of baldness, most commonly found on the scalp. Alopecia can
make the scalp sensitive. These sensitivities can have side effects to braiding that is
to tight, some are they lose more hair or they may develop skin irritation if a braid is
pulled to tight.These
Murata
The offspring produced via parthenogenesis have often been considered an
evolutionary dead end due to their low potential to respond to changing
environments, (MURATA, 2009). Since these organisms are not able to change their
environments they often have a higher rate of extinction. However, recent studies
have shown that some organisms, such as aphids, are genetically more variable than
hypothesized and have a substantial potential for rapid adaptive changes, which
means that they are able to survive in the constantly changing environments (Murata,
2009). A study conducted by Yusuke Murata (2009) was performed looking at just
this. In this study, Murata looked at variations in diapause traits, preimaginal period,

Human Nature And Development Of Personality
Adlerian Therapy
Liliana Salazar
University of North Texas at Dallas
Adlerian Therapy According to Maniacci and Jonhson Migalski (2013), Individual
psychology mandates that a person must be understood in the holistic,
phenomenological, teleological way (p.179). Adlerians believe heredity and
environment influence but do not determine our behaviors. Moreover, every person
has to strive for power, and humans develop inferiority feelings as a consequence.
Therefore, they need to overcome those feelings (Croake, 1975). This paper explains
how the views of human personality as holistic can explain maladjustment in the
client, Allen, a 34 year old male who experiences episodes of depression. The paper
will explore Allen s personality and the relationship between those past experiences
and maladjustment.
Human Nature and Development of Personality Croake (1975) argued the human
being is a whole, not just parts. Then personality can only be expressed if we take
into consideration all aspects of the human being. Adler (1982) pointed out that
human nature of personality explains how heredity and environment cannot build an
attitude related to life. Instead every person builds on individual experience. He
affirmed that humans couldn t be classified. Edgar (1996) explained the medical
model does not apply to every person because everyone is unique, and when science
tries to explain human mistakes by their genes we are categorizing human beings.
According to Adler (1982), the
The Education Of The United States
In the two hundred forty one years since the founding of the United States, few have
seriously argued the importance of education to society. Although education was left
out of the United States Constitution in the interest of states rights, Thomas Jefferson

the diffusion of knowledge among the people... [which is necessary] for the
preservation of freedom and happiness. (251). Despite a consensus on the necessity of
education, its actualization has a storied past, one riddled with intense ideological
debates, landmark court cases, petty politics, and, at times, military intervention (e.g.

Next, I will outline key elements of Amy Gutmann s Democratic State of Education,
including nonrepressionism and freedom in choosing among competing conceptions
of good life and good society. Once this framework is in place, I will proceed to
explore the perceived incompatibility of Common Core with the principles of
Gutmann s Democratic State. Ultimately, I will conclude that the standards are
indeed compatible with a Democratic State of Education given the latitude that states
have in tailoring the standards and given the fact that Common Core does not
exclusively determine curriculum.
The Common Core State Standards are the contrivance of a commission of
governors and education leaders from forty eight states sponsored by the National
Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers. The
overarching goals of the commission in drafting the standards were to ensure that all
students have the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college, career, and
life... regardless of where they live, and to promote equity by ensuring all students
are well prepared to collaborate and compete with their peers in the United States and
abroad. In essence, the standards were created to correct for geographical disparities
in educational quality which had made for unequal opportunities available to students
after graduation. Two separate sections of Common Core Standards, English

Smith and Carlos showed how sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself for the

Medea, The Intellectual Rhetoric And Dialogue
Translated and adapted throughout time, Language stands as the key term in any
story. The play Medea, written by Euripides, is the epitome of literature that
language remains essential to accurately convey the message of the author.
Ordinarily, Medea s place in society, as an outsider and a woman, means she must
not be resilient or independent, making it increasingly difficult for her to convey her
story. Accordingly, being an outsider in more ways than one, Medeasuffers because of
her foreign origins and being a woman. Notwithstanding, Medeahappens to be a well
versed, educated woman who stands fearlessly against the patriarchy of the time. The
Jeffers adaptation loses the sense of strength possessed by this woman in society as
certain translations and adaptations of this play has. Throughout the Norton version
of Medea, the intellectual rhetoric and dialogue utilized by Medea pushes the
characters to approach decisions differently because her confrontations are persuasive
and strike fear into the characters, but the Jeffers adaptation paints Medea as a
woman that acts solely on animalistic urges and utilizes stage direction to display her
point.
Unspectacularly, the Jeffers adaptation of Medea is quite a disappointment,
painting Medea as an animal with no reason or human like thought in regards to her
decisions. Therefore this final sacrifice I intend glares in my eyes like a lion on a
ridge (Jeffers 71). Toward the finale of this piece of literature, this quote
Main Causes Of The Civil War
Many people can argue that the main cause of the Civil War was the Kansas
Nebraska Act, The Missouri Compromise, or even the Compromise of 1850. There
are an abundant amount of reasons that people can argue how the Civil War was
started. What most people don t understand, that most of the events leading up to the
Civil War that people debate on, were related to slavery. Slavery is the practice of, or
a system based on, using the enforced labor of other people (in this case the other
people were African Americans). At the time of the Civil War, the Abolitionists
(the people that wanted to end slavery most were in the north) had many conflicts
with the South (who preferred slavery). All of these conflicts, such as the Border
War and John Brown s Raid, made the North and the South have violent attitudes
toward each other. And then the straw that broke the camel s back effect came into
place, and the North and the South eventually declared war against each other. The
main cause of the Civil War was slavery as shown by the Border War, John Brown s
Raid, and the novel Uncle Tom s Cabin by Harriet Beecher.
One example that slavery was the main cause of the Civil War was Bleeding
Kansas. This is also known as the Border War. The Border War was when the U.S.
gave Kansas the chance for their citizens to vote whether they wanted Kansas to be a
free state, or a slave state. If the border war never happened, Kansas would have been
a free state. What happened though is that

Hand irons are appropriate method of fusing where the interlinings could be fused at
comparatively at low temperatures and pressures and in relatively short time period.

Regular steam pressing machines are not chosen for fusing even though some
fusibles are produced for use on these machines. The main limitations of pressing
machines concerning fusing are:
Inability to reach the heat levels required by majority of resins
Shape and size of bucks limit size of components that can be fused
Most utility machines are not fitted with programme controls, which means entire

8.2.6 Types of pressing equipment
Solid surface pressing equipment uses a firm surface to apply pressure while steam

through rolling action, gliding action or compression (Holme 1999).
8.2.6.1 Hand Irons
For more than hundreds of years hand irons were heated on coal stoves. These
methods were steadily replaced by gas heating. Steam was created by lightly wetting
the area to be pressed or by pressing through a dampened piece of linen. The most
frequent but least productive ironing and pressing equipment is the hand iron, which
is suitable for performing a large number of operations in processing with heat and
moisture (Holme 1999).
More sophisticated and more productive but less prevalent are ironing presses, which
allows a considerable degree of mechanization and automation of processing with
heat and moisture. Fabrics are steamed to eliminate lustrous appearance which
develops when ironing and pressing equipment is used. The two basic types of irons

Confused Congregation By William Shakespeare
Confused Congregation During Shakespeare s time, the Protestant religion was
required to be followed by law. This protestant religion provided the view to its
followers that their lives were controlled by a predestined fate. The people were
totally helpless in their movements in their lives who already had a path laid out in
front of them and they could do nothing to divert the path. This truth of the protestant
movement was in a constant rivalry with the opposing view of Catholicism. The
catholic view and belief is that the path of life is freely chosen not dependent or
controlled by some force or fate. This struggle and this confusion with which religion,
with its two opposing factors of fate versus free will along with their contrasting
ornate and historic ceremony and traditions, is seen and demonstrated in all its
glory by the characters and plot in many of Shakespeare s plays. This confusion,
due to the flip flopping of religions and the nostalgia involved as one religion is
replaced with another in a seemingly unending cycle during Shakespeare s time,
creates the hodgepodge religious backdrop for his plays. The struggle of religion
was real during Shakespeare s time. The constant back and forth of the protestant
and catholic views stemmed straight from the top. The monarch of England was
calling the shots of which religion was best for England based on the monarch s
own advantages or disadvantages of each religion. Queen Mary I (1553) believed in
Catholicism and
I Acknowledge Mine By Jane Goodall
Animals in Biomedical Research Do you think animals should be used in
biomedical research? I don t think so because the treatment of the animals in the
process is inhumane, especially in the film Black Fish . In another article I
Acknowledge Mine Jane Goodall was watching a tape of the apes in the lab, after
that she and her partners were crushed. So she decided to take a look for herself
and what she found was unpleasant. First to support my thesis, in their article I
Acknowledge Mine Jane Goodall says, During a subsequent visit to LEMSIP, I
asked one of the youngsters I had met at the nursery, Little Josh. A real character he
had been there, a born group leader. I was led to one of the cages in Junior Africa,

Black on Black Racism Essay
Abstract The days of picking cotton and the hierarchy of slaves are long gone but the
colonial mentality of disunity may still exists among African Americans. Some of the
major conflicts that remain at the core of this disunity, include: black on black crime,
beauty and self esteem, and blacks over representation in the criminal justice system.
Although there are many reasons that support these conflicts, one may wonder if the
arrival of the social identity of blacks in America is the root cause for the conflicts.
The purpose of this quantitative study is to explore the effects of racial attitudes of
blacks on images of themselves with varying skin tones. Supplemental to the study of
attitudes and images, the social... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
See attached appendix A and B. The arrival of the African American identity began
with slavery and the slave master s behavior toward the field slave and the house
slave. In other words, the identity of the African American was given by European
slave masters instead of their personal creation. African women were raped and the
slave master s preferential treatment of their offspring created a hierarchy among
the slaves. As author Roger Smith (2004) explained, power and privileges were
given to those with lighter complexions over those who are darker. In the days of
slavery, light skin blacks were assigned to the house while blacks with dark skin had
to work the fields. (p.1). The promise of educational opportunities were also given to
slaves with lighter complexions. The indoctrination of Jim Crow Laws and white
supremacy proved to keep the institution of slavery going even after its abolishment.
Subsequent to the abolishment of slavery, blacks traveled to northern states and cities
and created their own societies. According to author G. Reginald Daniel, in his book,
More than Black, Blue Vein societies consisted of pluralistic elites within the African
American community. Membership in these societies were determined by individuals
phenotypical and cultural resemblance with European Americans (p. 4). The
structural set up of these societies created an illusion of escaping the common
stereotypes of blacks. Upon researching the topic of intraracial
The Comics As New Form Of Communication
Reenvisioning Comics as New Form of Communication It is a truth universally
acknowledged that as man has evolved into a more complex being, the appearance
of pictures has gradually been replaced by words. As children mature, they are often
encouraged to read lengthy novels as opposed to comics, which are deemed to be
childish and simple. However, this denies them the potential that comicscan offer in
terms of communication and creativity. In his graphic essay, Show and Tell, comic
artist Scott McCloud encourages the youth to utilize the benefits comics offer as a
new form of expression. By presenting examples of how words and pictures can be
harmoniously used and by identifying elements of comics that can enhance
communication, McCloud is able to successfully argue for the importance of comics
as new mediums for literature and creative expression. In addition, Hillary Chute s
essay, Comics as Literature? Reading Graphic Narrative, further elaborates on the
unique characteristics of comics that can amplify expression, such as manipulating
temporality. Furthermore, Why Teach with Comics by Jennifer Haines illustrates
how comics can be used to widen the potential audience of writer and how they can
improve the way people learn. In modern society, comics are viewed as lowbrow,
simple constructions of words and images, which are primarily used for recreation.
Although some progress has been made in familiarizing
Energy Drinks Promise Edge Analysis
Does the author successfully support his claim Energy Drinks promise edge, but
experts say proof is scant ? I disagree that the author does not support his claim in
this passage. Mostly he is pointing out the negatives of what energy drinks are
bringing. Starting with the side effects of the drink, and the bad pricing compared
to other caffeine filled drinks. More and more people are starting to buy energy
drinks, but do not know what is in or what is giving them that energy. Particularly
teens are starting to use the drinks, because it brings a mental and physical edge. Yet
people don t know that the drinks are now under scrutiny by the Food and Drug
Administration. There has been reports of deaths and serious injuries linked the high
Manifelte Du SurrГ©alisme Meaning
In AndrГ© Breton s Manifeste du surrГ©alisme, the ways in which Surrealism can
be applied to both the artistic realm and everyday life are explored, as well as the
importance placed on dreams. Breton believed in la rГ©solution future de ces deux
Г©tats, en apparence si contradictoires, que sont le rГЄve et la realitГ©, en une sorte
de rГ©alitГ© absolue, du surrГ©alitГ© (Breton and Bonnet, 1988). Based on the
assumption that Luis BuГ±uel and Salvador DalГ wished to remain loyal to Breton s
definition of Surrealism, it is likely that they understood the true functioning of
thought to mean that which is achieved through dreaming, for this was very much
discussed in the domains of art and psychoanalysis, and dreams, those which do not
form a part of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The process of dreamwork involves the transformation, either through condensation,
displacement or distortion, of the latent content into manifest content . In Un Chien
Andalou BuГ±uel and DalГ present many situations lacking in reason, aesthetic and
moral concern. These can be interpreted according to this theory of the true
functioning of the unconscious mind. In the opening scene of Un Chien Andalou, a
man is seen to slice open what appears to be the eye of a woman, with a razor. This
is done after a thin cloud is seen to pass over the moon. This semantically contrasting
change from one image to another is often present in dreams and can be seen
throughout the film. In these juxtaposed images BuГ±uel and DalГ show the razor
mimic the movement of the cloud. If this sequences of events from the film were
to form part of a dream, this would explain the lack of reason behind the man s
actions and his lack of moral concern for the well being of the woman. This ugly
and disturbing image could be seen as the latent content before it is transformed into
the manifest content of the moon and cloud to prevent exposing the mind to violent
ideas, if the dreamer were the man performing the immoral act. Another similar pair
of images which deals with the lack of reason and aesthetic in dreams is the image of
armpit hair turning into a sea urchin. Here, we witness the scenario where
Between The Letters Of Abelard And Heloise And The...
When Students first enter a history class, they come in with a basic understanding
of how much the world has changed over the time of human existence. The
students really feel like the world has changed from it first started out to be, but
when their class takes them into a small time period to see how much changes
happens in a little amount of time, it changes things. It s really astonishing how
much change happens in a minimal amount of time, that is often looked over when
looking at a larger time period. Changes do not come in small packages, change
normally comes in a bundle along with lots of other change. The change that I be
looking at is between The Letters of Abelard and Heloise and the Sixteenth Century
martyrs. Among those changes are; the role of religious practices, the role of the
Bible, and the role of women and families.
During the time period that The Letters of Abelard and Heloise, the main religious
power was the catholic church. Most of Europe were catholic and followed the Pope
s guidance. Going alongside the Pope and the catholic church, there were monks and
nuns. Monks and nuns practiced abstinence, as long as not being able to get married.
When a citizen thought that they have wronged God, then they felt like they had to
join a monastery. The belief was that it would bring you closer to God because of
their devotion the church. Religion was even see in the education that the rich
received. During the Sixteenth Century there was more availability for

On one hand, social networking has become an integral part of our daily lives, influencing how we communicate, share information, and build connections. On the other hand, the vast and dynamic nature of the subject presents a complex landscape to navigate. To begin with, the ever-evolving nature of social networking platforms requires thorough research to capture the latest trends, technologies, and societal impacts. Keeping up with the rapid changes in the digital sphere can be demanding, as new platforms and features emerge frequently. This dynamic environment makes it crucial for the essay writer to stay updated and informed. Moreover, delving into the social, psychological, and cultural aspects of social networking adds layers of complexity. Analyzing how these platforms shape human behavior, influence relationships, and impact mental health demands a nuanced understanding of various disciplines. Addressing both the positive and negative aspects requires careful consideration and a balanced perspective. Crafting a coherent and engaging narrative is another challenge. Organizing the information logically, maintaining a clear thesis, and providing relevant examples are essential elements of a successful essay. Striking a balance between depth and conciseness can be tricky, as there is a vast amount of information available on the topic. Furthermore, the potential ethical concerns associated with social networking introduce a layer of sensitivity. Discussing issues such as privacy, misinformation, and the influence of algorithms requires a thoughtful and responsible approach. • 3. My Experience With An Explosive Worker While thinking about goals in life, most people have the same thought. Most everyone wants to get married, have a kid or two, great job and a beautiful house. With me being thirty now, my goals are different. At this point in my life, I m wanting to complete my degree, own a home, and also be more financially secure. Since I was in the military prior to this point in my life, I was able to pick a career that I had experience with. I went with Explosive Worker since I had had the opportunity to earn some experience with it while in the military; it also offers a chance for travel and more job opportunities; and it can be a very fun and rewarding career. Where else can you blow stuff up and call it a job? I have always enjoyed playing with fireworks as a child and watching explosions in videos. With this job, I would get to enjoy it and get paid. The career I picked was an Explosive Worker and my personality test came back with me being The Duty Fulfiller. According to my personality test, I am interested in security and peaceful living, extremely thorough, responsible and dependable. Using the GCIS, I was able to narrow down some career choices that I might enjoy. These are all very important in the life of an explosive worker. Explosive workers have to be able to be trusted with all the power that they control, and must be dependable to make sure they do not screw up their calculations and placement of the explosives. If an explosive worker is not responsible, their screw
  • 4. Women and Sexuality in Aphra Behn s Poems Essay Women and Sexuality in Aphra Behn s Poems All women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of AphraBehn, . . . for it was she who earned them the right to speak their minds. (Woolf 91) Born in 1640, AphraBehn broke gender stereotypes when she undertook a thrilling (if unrewarded) life as a spy for the Crown, but it was her scandalous career as an author which truly achieved many firsts for women. She was the first woman to supporthereself financially by solely relying on the profession of writing, and many readers argue that Oroonoko her passionate tale about the institution of slavery was the first English novel. Thus in The Willing Mistress and The Disappointment, Behn confers power to women by creating an environment of sexual freedom in which female sexuality is natural, strong, comfortable, and driven by pure desire. In the Middle Ages, if a woman wanted to express herself in writing, she was limited to expressions of religious faith, as were Julian of Norwich and Margery Kempe. Any rapture described in the literature of this period was usually reserved for Christ, prompted by the ecstatic realization of an eternal life. In the 16th and 17th centuries, women writers were still largely limited in how they were permitted to express themselves. While writing about love became more socially acceptable, most examples still presented a romanticized perspective in

Performing some type of shift work may play a huge role in the outcome and duration of a person s life. • 8. The Impact of John Deere Essay The Impact of John Deere Nowadays more and more people are unaware of where their food comes from. Mankind now lives in an age where technology is the main focus and the rural way of life is becoming a thing of the past. The ability to produce food is so efficient and effective that some people do not even realize how their food gets to their plate. But that was not the case in the 19th century. In 1837, a man named John Deere changed farming forever. In the coarse of human existence, civilizations have made farming their primary source for food. As long as farming has been around, agricultural implements have been used to farm the land. Scientists believe that the first plows that were used, date back to 4,000 B.C. These plows were ... So how has the human race been able to produce enough food? Obviously something happened that increased crop production, and made growing food more efficient. By the 19th century, American frontiersmen were moving west. The farmers experienced much heavier and stickier soils than they had been accustomed to in the east. The soil would stick to the moldboard and a man would have to stop and scrape it off every few steps. (Anderson) A strong man using a modern spade still took an estimated ninety six hours to till an acre of land (Drache 2). The cast iron plows with a wooden moldboard had worked great in the light, sandy soils of New England, but something different was needed in the west. This is where John Deere had to step in. John Deere was born in Rutland, Vermont on February 7, 1804. When John was 17 he apprenticed himself to a black smith for 4 years. After that he immediately went into the blacksmithing business. John borrowed money to build his own blacksmith shop. Tragically, his shop was destroyed by fire not only once, but two times. John could not pay off his debt and facing bankruptcy, he made the decision to head west where he could find work, and be able to pay off his debt (Nortrax). He found

Yet he allowed and attended religious services in the U.S. Capitol and used federal funds to finance Christian missions to Native American nations. Jefferson hoped that converting Indians would induce them to embrace private property and live like their white neighbors. Jefferson s embrace of strict construction, or limiting the federal government to powers explicitly granted by the Constitution, also masks contradictions. When in 1803 Jefferson learned

Even though the story took place in space, the struggles Ender went through is just another way of teaching the readers life is hard to understand and pushing for somebody you love, a great outcome may come out of it. (Something good will always come out of something bad). The book appealed to me in an emotional way, mostly because as a teen I am going through harsh struggles in life and his struggles helped me understand everyone has their own emotional battles (all at different levels). • 13. Throughout History Scholars Have Typically Portrayed Eve Throughout history scholars have typically portrayed Eve as the sole creator of sin. In Genesis, Eve is described as a weak female who ultimately felt that worldly possessions were deemed more important than God s word. However; Eve can also be depicted as loyal, compassionate, and compliant. In retrospect Eve is not as powerless as she is illustrated throughout literature. When reading any type of literature about Adam and Eve, you are most likely persuaded that she was the start of messing up mankind. Eve was known for being a weak women and having a vein personality. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like all humans, we obsess over worldly possessions and things that we have never seen before. Eve may have had an abundant amount of freedom, yet when you do not know any better and do not fully understand the concept of sin you are open to any ideas. This does not make Eve an antagonist. Eve was strong enough to understand that she made a mistake that furthermore changed the outlook of mankind. The resulting book, Adam and Eve and the serpent argues that the earliest Christian ideas about sexuality, freedom and sin have come down to us today only by way of a fair amount of manhandling... Literature only lets readers view one side of this. Eve did not fully understand the concept of sin, therefore if you do not know what something means you cannot be labeled as a bad person. He knew her and said to her: this is now bone from my bone and flesh from my flesh. this one will be called my wife, for she was taken from her husband . for this reason a man and a woman are to become one, and for this reason he leaves his father and his mother. • 15. Compare And Contrast Updake And A Hunger Artist By Frann... At some point in our lives we stop and think of the things we do or say and come to an understanding of what we are, who we are. We acknowledge our place in society and the certain contributions we have towards it. It may or may not be incredibly outstanding in a sense but that alone allows us to realize our importance. There are examples of this in the two stories I will be comparing and contrasting. John Updike s A P and Franz Kafkas A HungerArtist . A protagonist s actions should not dictate their role as a hero or a be all and end all. In John Updike s A P we are introduced to the main character, Sammy, a cashier at a supermarket in a small town. He is a person not like the others at this store. While others are conservative and boring, Sammy is someone who feels he is at the wrong place at the wrong time every single day. But this certain day, in comes girls in their bathing suits. It quickly catches his eye because bikinis in a grocery store are unusual. It does not weird him out, it interests him. He takes long glances and observes them as they wander through the store. Watching their every move and describing every small detail of each and one of them. It is somewhat perverted because at the time, he sees them as objects, as eye candy. He judges them based on assumptions of what they are doing and wearing and even singles out the queen of the group. Sammy describes her in a very condescending way. Do you really think it s a mind in there or just a little buzz like a bee in a glass jar? is quite a misogynistic view of how women s minds work. Our initial impression of Sammy would cause us to think that he hates women but it is the complete opposite. He just has a very imaginative mind with different opinions. The girls finish shopping and enter Sammy s lane. As he is ringing them up, Lengel, the store manager walks in and notices the girls. He scolds them on their clothing choice and demands appropriate attire from them. The girls get embarrassed and Sammy clearly sees that. As they begin to walk out of the store, Sammy quits his job because he wants to be seen as the bigger person in that whole situation, a hero. When he leaves the store, the girls are gone. They were not around to see his

Critically Evaluate the Management Model of Baumol Under the traditional economic understanding, it is always assumed that profit maximization is treated as the main goal or objective for businesses, subject to perfect knowledge, single entity and rational logic. However, as illustrated by the principal agency problem, managers do not usually make rational decision entirely like owners who take company interest as their sole basis for their decisions. Past examples have shown that managers do take their own personal goals and satisfactions as consideration in their decision making. In addition, information gathering is not always perfect as managers do make decision by relying solely on the implicit knowledge gained from past experiences, without referencing to the macro economic... Therefore it would make sense for telecommunication firms to divert the peak hours traffic into non peak hours by using a price discrimination strategy which segments the users based upon their willingness and abilities to pay. For instance, business users are willing to pay higher price for peak hours usage due to their inelastic demand whereas in contrast, leisure users demand is elastic and are willing to make call during off peak hours in return for lower price. By adopting the price discrimination strategy, telecommunication firms are able to maximize sales revenue during peak and off peak hours by balancing the air time traffic based upon different market segment of users. At this point, it is also noticeable that one of the characteristics of Baumol firms lies in the perishable products/services offered which cannot be inventoried. The loss sale of the day on the unutilized capacity /outputs is an opportunity cost to the firms. Not all specialties involve direct patient care as administration is also a nursing specialty. A specialty role is established when the needs of patients change (Hamric, Tracy O Grady, 2014). For this assignment, the role of nursing informatics will be compared with several advanced practice nursing roles. Computers were first seen in the hospital setting in the 1960 s. Biomechanics Of The Tympanic Membrane Darisha Jhutty April 27, 2015 BIOE 154: Introduction to Biomechanics Professor Norman Biomechanics of the Tympanic Membrane Background: Over the past years, bioengineers have applied different methods for modelling the human ear. The human ear is an intricate biomechanical system with its primary function to sound perception and reception. The ear is divided into 3 main components, each with its own unique functions: the outer ear (pinna), the middle ear, and the inner ear. The outer ear, or the pinna, consists of the auricle, the skin covered cartilage of the ear visible on the outside of the head, as well as the opening to the auditory canal. The middle ear refers the air filled hollow space (tympanic cavity) behind the eardrum or tympanic membrane. The tympanic membrane is a thin, cone shaped membrane that separates the outer ear from the middle ear (Figure 1a). The tympanic membrane is made up of two main parts: the fragile pars flaccida (upper region) and robust the pars tersa (lower region). The pars tersa, composed of three layers: skin, fibrous tissue, and mucus, makes up the majority of the tympanic membrane. The pars flaccida is often associated with eustachian tube malfunctions and choleostomas, whereas the pars tersa is associated with perforations. There are 3 bones, the malleus, incus, and stapes, in the middle ear (Figure 1b) that vibrate when exposed to the vibrations of the sound waves. The malleus is attached to the medial surface of the tympanic

Imaginary friends however, are often outgrown and for the most part, forgotten. Authors have special relationships with their characters. They channel their hopes and dreams into a fictional entity and this allows them to live one thousand lives the way they wish they could. In most cases, soldiers leave warfronts with a form of post traumatic stress disorder, or ptsd ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 1). Often those diagnosed with ptsd are also diagnosed with depression ( PTSD: National Center for PTSD 1). Clearly, Hemingway had undiagnosed depression and his suicide confirms it ( Ernest Hemingway 3). The combination of ptsd and depression could have led to Hemingway forming his own alter ego. The alter ego would allow him to, in his mind at least, become another person with another temperament, similar to what a method actor does (Rodgers 3). This could explain the great adventures Hemingway had in between his writing, anything adventurous from bullfighting to deep sea fishing, he did it ( Ernest Hemingway 2). The coming and going of these adventures may have been the result of his mental state, the good days were the grand adventures, and the bad days were the ones at home, revisiting the war, swallowed up by his ptsd ( Depression 2). Perhaps on these days at home he imagined what could have been if he had done one thing differently, that s how Frederic Henry came along. Frederic Henry is an American ambulance driver for the Italians that loves Catherine Barkley. Catherine chose Henry and this divides Hemingway from the character he created. Human Nature And Development Of Personality Adlerian Therapy Liliana Salazar University of North Texas at Dallas Adlerian Therapy According to Maniacci and Jonhson Migalski (2013), Individual psychology mandates that a person must be understood in the holistic, phenomenological, teleological way (p.179). Adlerians believe heredity and environment influence but do not determine our behaviors. Moreover, every person has to strive for power, and humans develop inferiority feelings as a consequence. Therefore, they need to overcome those feelings (Croake, 1975). This paper explains how the views of human personality as holistic can explain maladjustment in the client, Allen, a 34 year old male who experiences episodes of depression. The paper will explore Allen s personality and the relationship between those past experiences and maladjustment. Human Nature and Development of Personality Croake (1975) argued the human being is a whole, not just parts. Then personality can only be expressed if we take into consideration all aspects of the human being. Adler (1982) pointed out that human nature of personality explains how heredity and environment cannot build an attitude related to life. Instead every person builds on individual experience. He affirmed that humans couldn t be classified. Edgar (1996) explained the medical model does not apply to every person because everyone is unique, and when science tries to explain human mistakes by their genes we are categorizing human beings. • 38. Medea, The Intellectual Rhetoric And Dialogue Translated and adapted throughout time, Language stands as the key term in any story. The play Medea, written by Euripides, is the epitome of literature that language remains essential to accurately convey the message of the author. Ordinarily, Medea s place in society, as an outsider and a woman, means she must not be resilient or independent, making it increasingly difficult for her to convey her story. Accordingly, being an outsider in more ways than one, Medeasuffers because of her foreign origins and being a woman. Notwithstanding, Medeahappens to be a well versed, educated woman who stands fearlessly against the patriarchy of the time. The Jeffers adaptation loses the sense of strength possessed by this woman in society as certain translations and adaptations of this play has. Throughout the Norton version of Medea, the intellectual rhetoric and dialogue utilized by Medea pushes the characters to approach decisions differently because her confrontations are persuasive and strike fear into the characters, but the Jeffers adaptation paints Medea as a woman that acts solely on animalistic urges and utilizes stage direction to display her point. Unspectacularly, the Jeffers adaptation of Medea is quite a disappointment, painting Medea as an animal with no reason or human like thought in regards to her decisions. Therefore this final sacrifice I intend glares in my eyes like a lion on a ridge (Jeffers 71). Toward the finale of this piece of literature, this quote
  • 39. Main Causes Of The Civil War Many people can argue that the main cause of the Civil War was the Kansas Nebraska Act, The Missouri Compromise, or even the Compromise of 1850. There are an abundant amount of reasons that people can argue how the Civil War was started. What most people don t understand, that most of the events leading up to the Civil War that people debate on, were related to slavery. Slavery is the practice of, or a system based on, using the enforced labor of other people (in this case the other people were African Americans). At the time of the Civil War, the Abolitionists (the people that wanted to end slavery most were in the north) had many conflicts with the South (who preferred slavery). All of these conflicts, such as the Border War and John Brown s Raid, made the North and the South have violent attitudes toward each other. And then the straw that broke the camel s back effect came into place, and the North and the South eventually declared war against each other. The main cause of the Civil War was slavery as shown by the Border War, John Brown s Raid, and the novel Uncle Tom s Cabin by Harriet Beecher. One example that slavery was the main cause of the Civil War was Bleeding Kansas. This is also known as the Border War. The Border War was when the U.S. gave Kansas the chance for their citizens to vote whether they wanted Kansas to be a free state, or a slave state. If the border war never happened, Kansas would have been a free state. What happened though is that

  • 43. Jumping Into My Academic Career At Notre Dame Jumping into my academic career at Notre Dame, I was initially overwhelmed by the many resources offered, and at the same time was not even aware of all of them. At such a prestigious university, I was slightly afraid to seek help or try unfamiliar resources. However, it quickly became obvious that these resources are not available to scare me, but to help me in almost any aspect I may need. For example, in the beginning of the year, I blindly signed up for a Peer led Team Learning (PLTL) group for General Chemistry; I did not know what it was, but I had a feeling that General Chemistry, despite some previous experience, would be extremely challenging. My latter feelings were correct, but I likely would have never passed with an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This opportunity was extremely enlightening, and the resources he provided me were beneficial. In addition, learning about the Career Center at Notre Dame through Moreau class was extremely helpful. After receiving an offer for a summer internship, I recalled the ability to apply for funding through the Career Center, and met with an advisor to make this opportunity possible. Thus, my involvement with the university s academic resources has significantly expanded since arriving on campus, and I hope to explore the many opportunities available in these next years. For example, next year, I hope to explore, attend meetings for, and apply to the Study Abroad program in Australia. I think that this opportunity is both unique and thrilling, and hope to participate in it during the spring semester of my junior year. Furthermore, I intend to further converse with Dr. Cramer, and potentially look into future research opportunities with him because I am extremely intrigued by his work and am interesting in pursuing similar research. I also hope to become part of this network of academic resources with my new role as Sustainability Commissioner of my dorm. I am excited to educate my peers on the importance of living sustainably and providing resources regarding these topics to them. In cultivating a healthy lifestyle, I have been fairly successfully in maintaining a
  • 44. Confused Congregation By William Shakespeare Confused Congregation During Shakespeare s time, the Protestant religion was required to be followed by law. This protestant religion provided the view to its followers that their lives were controlled by a predestined fate. The people were totally helpless in their movements in their lives who already had a path laid out in front of them and they could do nothing to divert the path. This truth of the protestant movement was in a constant rivalry with the opposing view of Catholicism. The catholic view and belief is that the path of life is freely chosen not dependent or controlled by some force or fate. This struggle and this confusion with which religion, with its two opposing factors of fate versus free will along with their contrasting ornate and historic ceremony and traditions, is seen and demonstrated in all its glory by the characters and plot in many of Shakespeare s plays. This confusion, due to the flip flopping of religions and the nostalgia involved as one religion is replaced with another in a seemingly unending cycle during Shakespeare s time, creates the hodgepodge religious backdrop for his plays. The struggle of religion was real during Shakespeare s time. The constant back and forth of the protestant and catholic views stemmed straight from the top. The monarch of England was calling the shots of which religion was best for England based on the monarch s own advantages or disadvantages of each religion. Queen Mary I (1553) believed in Catholicism and

I don t think so because the treatment of the animals in the process is inhumane, especially in the film Black Fish . In another article I Acknowledge Mine Jane Goodall was watching a tape of the apes in the lab, after that she and her partners were crushed. So she decided to take a look for herself and what she found was unpleasant. First to support my thesis, in their article I Acknowledge Mine Jane Goodall says, During a subsequent visit to LEMSIP, I asked one of the youngsters I had met at the nursery, Little Josh. • 46. Black on Black Racism Essay Abstract The days of picking cotton and the hierarchy of slaves are long gone but the colonial mentality of disunity may still exists among African Americans. Some of the major conflicts that remain at the core of this disunity, include: black on black crime, beauty and self esteem, and blacks over representation in the criminal justice system. Although there are many reasons that support these conflicts, one may wonder if the arrival of the social identity of blacks in America is the root cause for the conflicts. The purpose of this quantitative study is to explore the effects of racial attitudes of blacks on images of themselves with varying skin tones. Supplemental to the study of attitudes and images, the social... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... See attached appendix A and B. The arrival of the African American identity began with slavery and the slave master s behavior toward the field slave and the house slave. In other words, the identity of the African American was given by European slave masters instead of their personal creation. African women were raped and the slave master s preferential treatment of their offspring created a hierarchy among the slaves. As author Roger Smith (2004) explained, power and privileges were given to those with lighter complexions over those who are darker. In the days of slavery, light skin blacks were assigned to the house while blacks with dark skin had to work the fields. (p.1). The promise of educational opportunities were also given to slaves with lighter complexions. The indoctrination of Jim Crow Laws and white supremacy proved to keep the institution of slavery going even after its abolishment. Subsequent to the abolishment of slavery, blacks traveled to northern states and cities and created their own societies. According to author G. Reginald Daniel, in his book, More than Black, Blue Vein societies consisted of pluralistic elites within the African American community. Membership in these societies were determined by individuals phenotypical and cultural resemblance with European Americans (p. 4). The structural set up of these societies created an illusion of escaping the common stereotypes of blacks. Upon researching the topic of intraracial
  • 47. The Comics As New Form Of Communication Reenvisioning Comics as New Form of Communication It is a truth universally acknowledged that as man has evolved into a more complex being, the appearance of pictures has gradually been replaced by words. As children mature, they are often encouraged to read lengthy novels as opposed to comics, which are deemed to be childish and simple. However, this denies them the potential that comicscan offer in terms of communication and creativity. In his graphic essay, Show and Tell, comic artist Scott McCloud encourages the youth to utilize the benefits comics offer as a new form of expression. By presenting examples of how words and pictures can be harmoniously used and by identifying elements of comics that can enhance communication, McCloud is able to successfully argue for the importance of comics as new mediums for literature and creative expression. In addition, Hillary Chute s essay, Comics as Literature? Reading Graphic Narrative, further elaborates on the unique characteristics of comics that can amplify expression, such as manipulating temporality. Furthermore, Why Teach with Comics by Jennifer Haines illustrates how comics can be used to widen the potential audience of writer and how they can improve the way people learn. In modern society, comics are viewed as lowbrow, simple constructions of words and images, which are primarily used for recreation. Although some progress has been made in familiarizing
  • 48. Energy Drinks Promise Edge Analysis Does the author successfully support his claim Energy Drinks promise edge, but experts say proof is scant ? I disagree that the author does not support his claim in this passage. Mostly he is pointing out the negatives of what energy drinks are bringing. Starting with the side effects of the drink, and the bad pricing compared to other caffeine filled drinks. More and more people are starting to buy energy drinks, but do not know what is in or what is giving them that energy. Particularly teens are starting to use the drinks, because it brings a mental and physical edge. Yet people don t know that the drinks are now under scrutiny by the Food and Drug Administration. There has been reports of deaths and serious injuries linked the high
  • 49. Manifelte Du SurrГ©alisme Meaning In AndrГ© Breton s Manifeste du surrГ©alisme, the ways in which Surrealism can be applied to both the artistic realm and everyday life are explored, as well as the importance placed on dreams. Breton believed in la rГ©solution future de ces deux Г©tats, en apparence si contradictoires, que sont le rГЄve et la realitГ©, en une sorte de rГ©alitГ© absolue, du surrГ©alitГ© (Breton and Bonnet, 1988). Based on the assumption that Luis BuГ±uel and Salvador DalГ wished to remain loyal to Breton s definition of Surrealism, it is likely that they understood the true functioning of thought to mean that which is achieved through dreaming, for this was very much discussed in the domains of art and psychoanalysis, and dreams, those which do not form a part of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The process of dreamwork involves the transformation, either through condensation, displacement or distortion, of the latent content into manifest content . In Un Chien Andalou BuГ±uel and DalГ present many situations lacking in reason, aesthetic and moral concern. These can be interpreted according to this theory of the true functioning of the unconscious mind. In the opening scene of Un Chien Andalou, a man is seen to slice open what appears to be the eye of a woman, with a razor. This is done after a thin cloud is seen to pass over the moon. This semantically contrasting change from one image to another is often present in dreams and can be seen throughout the film. In these juxtaposed images BuГ±uel and DalГ show the razor mimic the movement of the cloud. If this sequences of events from the film were to form part of a dream, this would explain the lack of reason behind the man s actions and his lack of moral concern for the well being of the woman. This ugly and disturbing image could be seen as the latent content before it is transformed into the manifest content of the moon and cloud to prevent exposing the mind to violent ideas, if the dreamer were the man performing the immoral act. Another similar pair of images which deals with the lack of reason and aesthetic in dreams is the image of armpit hair turning into a sea urchin. Here, we witness the scenario where
  • 50. Between The Letters Of Abelard And Heloise And The... When Students first enter a history class, they come in with a basic understanding of how much the world has changed over the time of human existence. The students really feel like the world has changed from it first started out to be, but when their class takes them into a small time period to see how much changes happens in a little amount of time, it changes things. It s really astonishing how much change happens in a minimal amount of time, that is often looked over when looking at a larger time period. Changes do not come in small packages, change normally comes in a bundle along with lots of other change. The change that I be looking at is between The Letters of Abelard and Heloise and the Sixteenth Century martyrs. Among those changes are; the role of religious practices, the role of the Bible, and the role of women and families. During the time period that The Letters of Abelard and Heloise, the main religious power was the catholic church. Most of Europe were catholic and followed the Pope s guidance. Going alongside the Pope and the catholic church, there were monks and nuns. Monks and nuns practiced abstinence, as long as not being able to get married. When a citizen thought that they have wronged God, then they felt like they had to join a monastery. The belief was that it would bring you closer to God because of their devotion the church. Religion was even see in the education that the rich received. During the Sixteenth Century there was more availability for
