Essays On Leadership Qualities
Writing an essay on the topic of leadership qualities can be both challenging and rewarding. On
one hand, the subject is broad and multifaceted, requiring a comprehensive understanding of
leadership theories, personal anecdotes, and the ability to articulate complex ideas. On the other
hand, the challenge lies in navigating the fine line between being informative and avoiding
clichГ©s that often plague discussions about leadership.
Crafting an engaging and insightful essay involves delving into various dimensions of leadership,
such as the difference between leadership and management, the impact of leadership styles on
organizational culture, and the role of emotional intelligence in effective leadership. Moreover,
addressing contemporary issues in leadership and incorporating real-life examples of successful
leaders can add depth and relevance to the essay.
However, the difficulty doesn't end with the research and conceptualization. A well-structured
essay requires a coherent flow of ideas, logical transitions between paragraphs, and a compelling
introduction and conclusion. Balancing theoretical frameworks with practical examples and
personal reflections can be a delicate task, demanding both analytical and creative thinking.
Furthermore, individual perspectives on leadership can vary widely, making it challenging to
strike a balance between presenting a universal understanding of leadership qualities and
acknowledging diverse viewpoints. Additionally, the essay should reflect a genuine appreciation
for the importance of leadership in various contexts, from business to politics and beyond.
In conclusion, writing an essay on leadership qualities is a demanding task that requires a blend
of research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Navigating through the
intricacies of this topic to produce a well-crafted essay is undoubtedly a formidable challenge,
but the process itself can be enlightening and rewarding for those who embark on it.

Enthroned Madonna Vs Ossanti Madonna
After thoroughly reading Chapters one and two, it became transparent that both
Enthroned Madonna and Child and Ognissanti Madonna are nonetheless similar in
size, structure and style.
Beginning with his work, the painting is roughly twelve feet tall. Cimabue used
various leveled scale with the indivduals in this piece (the idea that greater is better
and generally critical). Various leveled scale implies placing things all together of
significance in respect to estimate. In this piece the blessed messengers in the upper
part don t number towards the various leveled scale since it is just used between
individuals, not celestial. The prophets at the base are from the old confirmation. One
approach to select prophets in works of art is that ... Show more content on

Giotto picked and masterminded his subjects deliberately. The larger than usual,
forcing Madonna, the grave, noble infant Jesus, and the mindful, devout holy
messengers and holy people at their feet are all similarly urgent parts of the
artwork and, separately, appear to have their very own existence. Maybe the most
momentous part of the Ognissanti Madonna is Giotto s amazing utilization of
shading. With a conventional gold foundation, the gold of the blessed messengers
radiances and gold lines along the royal position, the sketch appears to sparkle in a
majestic, heavenly light. The warm greens and reds, diverged from the light pinks
and purples, serve to acculturate and help the generally profound, ethereal painting.
Surface assumes a key part in the Ognissanti Madonna, particularly in the
characteristics of di Bondone s subjects. An investigating take a gander at the
composition uncovers the strikingly human like surface of the fragile living
creature and the painstakingly nuanced outward appearances of elegance, delight
and regard. The apparel, as well, exhibits di Bondone s careful scrupulousness. The
thick, rich robes of the Madonna fall reasonably between her legs, the free creases
appearing to possess genuine space. As he would do all through

Throughout the history of the Civil War, Gettysburg was one of the most intriguing
battles. It not only was the battle that had largest number of casualties but it was also
located in a very isolated piece of land in upstate Pennsylvania. Gettysburg National
Military Park has gone through many phases throughout its history; one thing that has
not changed and that is the importance of remembrance of the soldiers and their
sacrifices. The changes that occurred through the decades at GettysburgNational
Battlefield mirror the social climate in the United States.
In the year of 1895, Gettysburg went from being a privately owned property to
becoming a Military Park. Many things would change from the Military Park though

With its location Gettysburg remained untouched until tourists and looters invaded
the sacred hollow ground to find souvenirs from the corpses before the battlefield was
officially preserved. For example, the commission reported a problem with
thoughtless or mischievous visitors, and particularly the mutilation of monuments by
sacrilegious relic hunters that sometimes infest the ground with the sense of
reverence wholly undeveloped. Once the battlefield was officially taken over by the
Park Service, the main goal would be to protect and preserve the sacred ground.

The changes at Gettysburg National Battlefield in the 1960 s echoed the nation s
patriotism and desire for unity in light of the Cold War and the Civil Rights
Movement. With the change in society, Gettysburg faced an increase in population
at the park each year it increased by the thousands. With the result of large crowds,
the park made some changes. The biggest change at Gettysburg was the use of
Mission 66. Mission 66 was a program implemented that, reaffirmed the National
Park Service s tradition of promoting recreational tourism, some changes that were

The, The Sold Out Ones, By Luis Valdez
Los Vendidos, which signifies the sold out ones, is a play that was correlated by
Luis Valdez and created by the Farm Workers Theater of Atzlan. They have built
their theater society with respect to the old show clubs that were common in the
striker s groups of the sixties and seventies. In these groups, performing artists and
performers would assume parts that would ridicule certain gatherings or people that
they were opposing. Case in point, if the produce pickers were striking against a
cultivator, then the play would draw out every generalization that individual put stock
in or each awful quality that that individual had and would decorate it. They would
make their focus out to be inept and uninformed. Los Vendidos finishes this errand
extremely well on the grounds that it demonstrates each generalization that Anglos
have against Mexican Americans, and places it in a manner that will make any
Anglo be embarrassed for having accepted such falsities. Everything that was put into
the play was put there for a reason, whether it is a real occurrence or a typical
generalization. The narrator before the play clarifies what the Theater Society of
Aztlan is about. The narrator is costumed as the Aztec sun god in an Aztec elevated
structure sanctuary. The range around the sun god was the old Aztec schedule. It
demonstrates that the Aztlans have a decent learning about their past. They are
pleased that they are from the territory that the Aztecs started from. The play

5.1 Basic Energy Saving Tips LOWER THE SET POINT ON YOUR
THERMOSTAT IN WINTER
Reducing your set point by 1Лљ for an entire winter can yield a 3% savings in energy
used to heat your home. If you keep your thermostat at 68Лљ, try to turn it down to
67Лљ for a week and see if that s okay. If so, try 66Лљ and keep going down until

OPERATING FANS
The best thing to remember with fans is that they cool people, they do not cool
rooms. The air movement that fans create pulls heat and moisture off of us and gives
us a cooling sensation. They do not decrease room temperatures.
So please be sure to leave fans off when not in the room. In most cases, it is also not
recommended to leave the fan running on your furnace or air conditioner.
LOWER THE SET POINT ON YOUR WATER HEATER
If you never run out of hot water, you can probably turn the set point of your water
heater down. The turn dials are typically located under the top and bottom faceplates.
Use a screwdriver to remove the faceplate and turn it down 5 10Лљ. We do not
recommend setting your temperature below 120ЛљF due to bacterial growth. Also,
have the scale removed from your water heater every couple of years.
2.2 Water Efficiency Tips Water use is becoming an increasingly important issue.
Energy is used to extract the water from the ground, treat it, pump it to your home,
and heat it in your hot water tank. Energy is also consumed to pump, treat and
discharge the water once it leaves your home. The efficient use of water in your home
reduces the power consumed by our community. From significant appliances to little

The Origin Of The Ais Indians
Long before the Western countries discovered North America, the Native Americans
lived and thrived here. Historians believe these wandering peoples crossed over a
land bridge that formed when the earth froze over, officially named Beringia, to get
to North America. These nomadic Natives began spreading and forming different
tribes around North America. One of the many tribes was the AisIndians of Florida.
By themselves, the tribes reigned the New World, but contact with the Westerns
began their tragic demise. Although little is known about the origins of the Ais
Indians, historians do know that they settled around 1000 BC. The Ais Indians were
located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida, from present day Cape Canaveral to St.
Lucie. This area would have covered four counties: Brevard, Indian River, St.
Lucie, and the northern part of Martin. The Ais Indians resided in towns and
villages along the Indian River in huts. Similar to any group of people, the Ais had
a leader called the Cacique. The Cacique was determined by whom the most
respected matrilineal family was in the tribe. Unlike the traditions of the West, the
Cacique would rule through suggestion instead of force. Regarding to housing, the
huts they lived in were framed with wood or sticks, then they were covered in
palmetto leaves to form walls and a roof. As expected, the Cacique s hut was larger
and more furnished than the rest of the huts. Their diet mainly consisted of fish,
oysters, clams, snails, and sea grapes
Juvenelian Satire in A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift...
Effectively ushering change in society or pointing out faults that have existed and
gone unnoticed can be a daunting task for any social commentator. Often, blandly
protesting grievances or concerns can fall upon deaf ears and change can be slow or
non existent. However, Jonathan Swift in his pamphlet A Modest Proposal, uses
clever, targeted, and ironic criticism to bring the social state of Ireland to the attention
of indolent aristocrats. He accomplishes such criticism through satire, specifically
Juvenalian satire. Swift s A Modest Proposal stands as an example of the type of
satire that plays upon the audience s emotion by creating anger concerning the
indifference of the voice created. He complements such criticism with sophisticated,
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This fact arouses anger, in that the audience realizes the proposer seems indifferent
to the fact that he is proposing to murder thousands of children. Contrastingly, such
morally unconventional solutions would not exist in a calmer, straight forward
Horatian satire. Yet, even in evaluating how anger is emotionally imposed on the
audience due to the absurdity of the proposal, it s impossible to disregard the role of
humor. There are obvious elements of humor throughout the proposal and
amusement in the very nature of the proposal is expected. However, any sense of
humor abruptly disappears at the heart of the critism. When the proposer begins
stating I can think of no one objection that will possibly be raised against this
proposal the humor stops and the voice of Swift, as well as sharp criticism, begins.
Although humor may be an integral part of the proposal and certainly a partial
indication of the use of Horatian satire, the fact that humor isn t present throughout
the whole proposal suggests that the use of hilarity is secondary. Rather, this contrast
of humor and emotionally imposed irritation only helps to emphasize the role of
anger. This is especially evident when one considers the irony that litters the
humorous proposal. Swift s development of the absurd proposal

problems were minor for example of assistance of untrained staff, delay of egress

A romantic drama film is a genre that explores the difficult aspects that come with
love. The plot usually includes two people that are in love that can t be together the
way they want to be due to obstacles. The obstacles in a romantic drama film can
include a family s disapproval, to forbidden love, to one s own psychological
restrictions. The Notebook is a movie based on a best selling novel that was
written by author Nicholas Sparks. This is a love story that is composed of a series
of obstacles between two young people that are madly in love with each other. It
perfectly fits and displays the criteria for a successful romantic drama film because it
includes the complexity of love, and elicits emotions.
In The Notebook there are countless obstacles between the two main characters that
are in love. This allows the movie to fit into the drama aspect of the genre,
displaying the complexity of their love. Complex love includes the drama, and
difficulties of a relationship, while still being closely connected to the romantic parts
of a relationship. This is prevalent in The Notebook. Allie and Noah, played by well
known actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, were two people from different
social classes. Allie was from a wealthy, privileged upper class family while Noah
was making around 40 cents an hour at a lumber yard job. While love is not
confined to the amount of money that each person has, in the 1940 s, which is the
setting of the movie, social

The day she died was the day after my best friend, Daniel Knife committed suicide.
I didn t realize it at first, but I kept getting this weird feeling ever since they died.
Everything was different. The next morning I felt the need to go see her grave

my wife s name carved in it. I heard voices around me whispering Cole, Cole,
Cole.... It sounded just like my wife, Sami. I turned to leave but then saw
something out of the corner of my eye. As I looked back I saw Sami standing there
in front of the tree. I closed my eyes, shook my head and checked again. She was

Wonderful Pistachios Advertising Campaigns
The ad campaign run by Wonderful Pistachios is a perfect example of the
persuasion techniques; Bandwagon, timing, and association. The Bandwagon
effect is explained as showing many people using a product, implying that
everyone is using it. Timing is related to the success of a message because it is not
always what the message conveys but rather it depends on the time it s delivered.
The association technique aims to connect a service, product, or idea with
something already desired by the target audience, such as, security, fun, beauty,
success, or wealth. The media message does not make it explicit that the viewer
will receive these things but the association is implied. The campaign utilizes
controversial and comedic celebrities to draw the attention of the younger
generation. This is an example bandwagon effect at work. These celebrities include
people from shows like Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Jersey Shore, which
intrigue the younger target market because they feel they can relate to these people.
The target market of this campaign is women raging from ages of 18 to 34. This
includes both women in the workforce and women attending college. The average
consumer in this target market strives to be one step ahead of celebritygossip and
social media. The viewers feel excellent about providing a healthy alternative snack
for their children while still providing the salty snack that most children crave. It has

A Wonderful Essay Of Christian Heroism
Cynthia Ozick, a strong powerful writer, wrote a wonderful essay called Of
Christian Heroism. In this essay, Ozick expressed her feelings towards the
classification of participants involved in the Holocaust, the victim, the murder, the
bystander, and the hero. She explained that most humans find it easy to be a
bystander in events like the Holocaust, so most of us choose to be a bystander rather
than a hero. That explained why the category of the hero is so minuscule. She feels
that human nature influences our decisions to avoid getting mixed up in these
events. In this essay, I strongly agree with Ozick s opinion due to her in depth
description of the participant categories, her examples of what heroism is, and her
thought process of interpreting others statements. In my life, I ve felt I have been a
bystander because I have been taught to only care about situations that will effect my
life, so I agree with Ozick when she states that most peoples natural state is to be a
bystander.
Ozick made a very clear and concise point due to her in deatailed explanation of the
categorizes mentioned. In the essay, she didn t bring up heroism until the second part
because she needed to charaterize the other categories in depth. She wanted us to
understand that the category of the bystander is our natural instinct, that we are
taught to only care for ourselves and the things that effect our own lives because its
easier for us. Our society conforms to the role of the bystander. Ozick

The Influences of Alfred Hitchcock on Wes Craven By Nicholas Storm The
Horror Genre?s contemporaries today include Eli Roth, John Carpenter, George
Romero and Clive Barker to name a few but the most notable above them all, with
more contributions out of any other director was Wes Craven. With a plethora of
films he has created, Craven is most known for 3 in particular for helping redefine
the horror genre, in particular, ?The Last House on the Left,? ?Red Eye,? and the
?Scream? franchise. All three films which have had the most successful outcomes
out of any other film series including television spinoff series, sequels, remakes,
and much more which helped shape and push the genre further. However, one
individual that preceded Wes Craven was the ?Master of Suspense? Alfred
Hitchcock and would be arguably one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Not
sequestered into just one genre, it is of no surprise that Wes Craven claims
Hitchcock is one of his largest influences. Alfred Hitchcock directed masterpieces
such as ?Psycho,? ?The Birds,? ?North by Northwest? and ?Marnie,? all of which
have been huge influences on the Horror genre and Craven. These particular films
by these two great directors will be analyzed and compared to show the influence
that Alfred Hitchcock had on a recent contemporary like Wes Craven and also how it

The European Union (EU) has introduced and enacted a privacy law that protects all
of its member countries citizens from both governmental and commercial misuse of

that no steps toward achieving a better privacy have been made by the U.S.
On April 21, 2000, Children s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) has come
into effect[3]. This law states that no information about children under the age of

allows the data to be used as described to the parent. In practice, however, it does
not prevent the operator (i.e. the collector of the information) from using the data in
any way they like so long as they mention the way of using the data. The reason for
that is that many parents do not read the agreement, and in some instances, the child
accessing the website is asked whether they have their parents permission, to which
they just answer yes without actually checking in with their parent or legal
guardian. It is partially due to those reasons that some companies have started
overcompensating for the law; for instance, AOL has disabled accounts for all users
that have specified that they are less than 13 years of age[5]. Currently, the service
is restricted to 13 and over users, which, as already
Seclusion And Restraint Analysis

sedatives are referred to as tranquilizers. Sedatives are only available by prescription
and many times are used for medical reasons. Sedatives have been known to be used

resort to trying to get the patient under control while maintaining their safety and the
others around them. The seclusion/restraint process is to protect patients from
unnecessary trauma. Once in seclusion the patient should be checked on frequently.
In order to suspend the seclusion/restraint the patient has to demonstrate significant
behavioural change. However seclusion or restraints should only be used for a short
amount of time. Patients often see seclusion and restraints as a punishment which
provokes negative emotions. This not healthy for the patient. In the end run the goal
may be to prevent trauma but it still

Hinduism, Hindutva, Colonial and Post Colonial Myths
During this period (early history of the British in India) in India, while the Europeans
fought one another and the British intrigued among themselves for personal
advantage, Mughals killed Mughals, Rajputs killed Rajputs, Mughals killed Rajputs,
Rajputs killed Mughals, British killed Mughals and Rajputs, Mughals and Rajputs
killed British, and starvation and taxation kept killing the farmers and laborers of
India as usual. 1
This is how Wendy Doniger defines the pre independence early history of India (of
the 19th century) in her book The Hindus: An Alternative History . Karl Marx too in

An example of this is the idea prevalent in certain parts of the society that the
colonizers, even though violators of human rights themselves, in many circumstances
had also civilized the country by abolishing brutal practices like the Sati and by
having offered a scathing critique of the oppressive Indian caste system, helped in
removing it. What remains hidden behind this myth is the fact that the colonizers had
not only in their early days of invasion and in their oriental spirit as Doniger points
out, remained oblivious to the brutal act of Sati and intended not to interfere with
Hindu practices but also throughout their rule propagated the ideas of caste
distinctions. These distinctions based themselves not only on the existing Hindu
caste system but also on the fact that certain sections of society were more loyal to
the colonizers than others. The caste based division in the Indian Army (formed
during the British rule) that manifests itself in the name of the various regiments also
further establishes this idea.
Although this was not the only way in which the colonizers gave support to the
Indian caste system. They supported caste in many ways, both because they
unconsciously tended to adopt the ideas of social stratification of the people they
were ruling and because the Indian caste system echoed their own subtle and deeply
entrenched social hierarchy , Doniger points out in her book.

Summary Of Death Of A Moth By Virginia Woolf
In ВЁThe Death of a MothВЁ by Virginia Woolf, Woolf writes about how she
observes a mothВґs death. Throughout the essay Woolf had a complex attitude
towards the moth. In order to establish her depressing, hopeless, and desperate tone,
she uses symbolism, imagery, juxtaposition, and syntax. Virginia Woolf utilized
imagery to make the reader comprehend that the mothВґs battle with death was
homogeneous to her battle with her bipolar tendencies and depression. In the fourth
paragraph, ВЁHe was trying to resume his dancing, but seemed either so stiff or so
awkward.....and when he tried to fly across it he failed,ВЁ Woolf illustrates the
struggle of the moth. The moth makes many attempts to fly again, but it
unfortunately fails. This makes the reader

The authors do an excellent job providing extensive detailed accounts of the events
and are so meticulous in this endeavor, that at times it can become excessive to the
point of irrelevancy if the reader s desire is to acquire a basic synopsis of the story.
If the reader is seeking a dry and monotonous academic account, they will certainly
not find it here as the history is brilliantly retold in a page turning and dramatic
fashion. Complete with an exhausted list of characters, who at many times, can be
difficult to keep up with but are nonetheless instrumental to understanding the
intricacy and complexity of the story. Filled with anecdotes and side notes enriched
by just about every relevant character and figure of the story whose roles and
significance can often be confusing if not followed carefully, the story plays out as a
dramatic and theatrical performance that jumps between geography and time. The
authors do a remarkable job in providing character profiles, though at times, may
teeter tediously as they dive into personal histories and anecdotes that have the
potential for both swaying the reader s attention and content s intention. However,
one must undoubtedly appreciate the journalistic style employed by the authors to
weave a story of deep convolution, one that thoroughly investigates every aspect and
How Is Socrates Worthless
Socrates has made people despise him throughout Athens partly because of his
method of discussion, which entails using cross examination to answer important
philosophical questions. He believes God has ordered him to investigate if human
wisdom is worthless. (Pg 27, 23b). Socrates begins his investigation after the Oracle
of Delphi claimed that no one was wiser than Socrates. (Pg 26, 21 a b).
At first, Socrates was confused by the claim. Socrates says that he is very
conscious that he is not wise at all. (Pg 26, 21b). He reluctantly began investigating
what the Oracle meant by this grand claim. (Pg 26, 21b) Socrates believes what the
Oracle actually meant when he said that no one was wiser than Socrates, is that
human wisdom is worth little or nothing and he uses his name as an example. (Pg 27,
23 b). When examining the quote, This man among you, mortals, is wisest who, like
Socrates, understands that his wisdom is worthless. (Pg 27, 23b) one may possibly
reach the conclusion that anyone can be the wisest if they understand their wisdom is
worthless.
The investigation began reluctantly, as was aforementioned, ... Show more content on

Additionally, Socrates wants to put his trust in the justice of what he says and he
does not want the people of Athens to expect to anything else. (Pg 22, 17b c). Later
on, Socrates mentions how he could have used appeals to emotion, instead of logic
and honesty, to convince the people of Athens that he was innocent but he did not
because he respects them. (Pg 38, 34c e). Following this line of logic, then one could
suppose that Socrates, in fact, did believe what the Oracle had said was true.
Therefore, it should be understood that Socrates believed that his investigation was
due to Oracles claim. Furthermore, one should not infer that Socrates was searching
for the meaning of human wisdom from his

The Theory Of Social Space
The next key concept to come from Bourdieu s work is the field which, unlike
habitus, exists outside the minds of actors. The field is formally defined as a
network of relations among the objective positions within it. The occupants of these
positions may be either agents or institutions and they are both constrained by the
structure of the field (Ritzer, 2004). Economic capital, which relates the economy of
the state, and cultural capital, which involves various kinds of acceptable knowledge
are two principles of differentiation which determine social space classifications.
Accordingly, social space is constructed in such a way that agents are distributed
within it according to their position in statistical distributions based on these two
principles of differentiation (Bourdieu, 1998). It follows that agents are distributed
in this social space in such a way that the closer they are to one another, as
determined by those two principles of differentiation, the more they will likely have
in common. Occupants of positions within the field employ a variety of strategies,
and again, the strategies of these agents depend on their position in the field. This
demonstrates that Bourdieu s actors possess less freedom than Giddens s. While
there are many differences between these two theories and theorists, I have pointed
out several similarities as both Giddens and Bourdieu presented a duality of structure,
and they both consider the issue of constraint on agents.
Social Injustice In Executive Order 13769
Due to variance in opinions, people more often disagree than agree on social and
political controversies. Social injustice occurs when these disagreements lead not to
civil discourse but instead the oppression of those with opposing ideas. President
Donald Trump s new Executive Order 13769 is one of the most recent social
injustices that has been caused due to his presidency. It has affected an estimated
90,000 people and has caused huge protests worldwide (Kessler). With the use of
unfair and religion based treatment that violates both the Constitution s establishment
clause and the Geneva Conventions mandate against denying refugees asylum, Trump
created a controversial problem that produced a divide between not only American

All he has done since then is keep his word, ensuring his support across his fan base.
Donald Trump thrives in the entertainment industry, which gives him headlines and
publicity and cheering crowds across America, and he has only brought those
entertainment tactics to his role as a president ruling by fear.
There are no social injustices that go without affecting the public, and Executive
Order 13769 has impacted many people not only in our nation, but also in the
periphery, in many different countries around the world. The victims of this social
injustice are primarily those from the seven countries, especially Muslims, but
anyone who has put their faith in American idealism will experience the fallout
from this destruction of our constitutional values. When it comes to accepting
refugees now, the White House is essentially prioritizing Christians over Muslims
from the Middle East. In fact, in an interview with the Christian broadcasting
network a few days after the immigration ban was instated, Donald Trump claimed
he would favor Christian refugees as an exception to the executive order (Yulas).
People with dual citizenship are being affected now as well by not being able to
travel freely outside the country without worry they may not be allowed to return. A
specific victim of this injustice, Thon Maker, a rookie on the Milwaukee Bucks, is a
native of Sudan, one of the seven countries that Trump has banned for travel
(Reports). The National Basketball Association is now concerned with Maker s
ability to travel with his team to Toronto for future games (Reports). The immigration
limitation not only affects people living in the seven countries, but also those who
care about upholding our values and human rights

A Simulation For The Motor Of A Bldc Motor Drive With
The...
This paper presents a simulation for the sensorless operation of a BLDC motor drive
with the estimation of initial rotor position at standstill. The system determines the
actual rotor position of the motor at standstill and provides appropriate starting pulses
to inverter switches to turn on. Once the motor starts to rotate, it then directly extracts
the back EMF from the motor terminals between the floating phase and the midpoint
of DC link. Inductance variation sensing method is used for estimating the initial
rotor position of the motor followed by a sensorless operation by back EMF sensing
method. The principle behind the rotor position estimation is detection and
comparison of phase voltageand dc link current responses and relating it with stator
inductances.
The most advantage is that it requires only three voltage pulse injections of small
duration for the estimation of rotor position. A resolution of 30o can be achieved.
The effectiveness of the method is validated by simulation results in Matlab Simulink
platform.

Examine Why Multinational Corporations Seek to
Transfer...
The HRM policy of a firm is looked as a most important strength which needs to be
taken care of all the time to have a competitive advantage within the industry they
operating in. Multinational corporations (MNCs) seek to transfer their home country
human resource management (HRM) practices to their overseas subsidiary as to
them it is just another approach towards globalisation. It can be an element of
success for MNCs if they manage to transfer these HRM practices across their
subsidiaries in an effective manner. An effective transition of these policies depends
on the organisational, cultural, social and relational factors (Bartlett amp; Ghoshal
1998; Evans, Pucik amp; Barsoux 2002; Poedenphant 2002). The transition of these
policies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The whole procedure of international strategy is from adopting the policies
implemented from the parent company to the enhancement of the competencies
developed at the subsidiary, which will complement the organization on the whole.
International experience is also one of the factors that push a MNC to implement the
home country HRM policies across their subsidiaries. It depends on how long a MNC
has been active in their international operations that impact the nature of their
decision while implementing HR policies across their subsidiaries. Having a lack of
international experience, a MNC will make their subsidiaries adopt their home
country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors on the transfer of
human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek
subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). A MNC with more international experience
is less likely to adapt their home country policies as the more a firm gains
international experience, the less dominant their home country HR policies become.
Looking from the dependency theory s point of view, the need for control also
pushes a MNC to implement their home based policies. The stronger the need is, the
more the necessity of integrating these policies will grow, and hence there is a
probability that the HR practice will resemble the home country practices. The more
dependent a subsidiary is to their parent, the more the firm will try

Mary Rowlandson s Captivity Narrative Analysis
Mary Rowlandson s captivity narrative was published anonymously by someone
who wanted to protect Rowlandson as a woman author. Davis writes, the publisher
claims credit for persuading this modest woman to allow publication of her private
material and gives credibility to a work that would not be allowed to stand on its
own because of its female author (58). While the publisher takes credit for getting
Rowlandson to publish her captivity narrative, he also encourages the audience in the
preface to accept the work of Rowlandson, a woman. He even reminds the audience
that Rowlandson is the wife of a minister (Davis 58). By doing all of this, he is
trying to make sure the audience does not discredit her work simply because it was
written by a woman. It is important to understand the women s role in the Puritan
society. The Puritans believe that a woman is Christ s bride, husband s wife, a
mother, and a good wife. Women in this time were required to obey and submit to
men in authority, especially their husbands (Davis 54). This is idea of submitting to
husbands is biblical. Ephesians 5: 22 24 states, Wives, submit to your own husbands,
as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife ... Therefore, just as the church is
subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything (The Bible).
Since the Puritans studied the scripture and followed, it is understandable why this
is a Puritan belief. This idea of submitting is shown between Rowlandson and her
Indian master. She is aware of the consequences and wants to be in favor with him;
therefore, she used her Puritan ideology to gain favor (Davis 54). For example, in
the ninth remove, Rowlandson writes, At last he told me if I would make another
shirt, for a papoose not yet born, he would give me a knife, which he did when I had
done it (280). In this passage, Rowlandson is submitting to her master by making
another shirt in order to receive a knife from him. Overall, in her narrative, it is seen
that Rowlandson stays true to the Puritan belief of women submitting to men, even
though it is not her husband. Many Puritans saw this captivity as a punishment for
sins similar to the forty years of wandering for the

one of the safest economic environments for investment when compared to other

An interesting fact about the English speaking population of India: Ten years ago, the
United States was the country with the largest English speaking population. Today,
India has taken over that status. With roughly a third of its population or more than
300 million possessing English language capability, India has more people speaking
the language than the US and UK combined.
In addition to English speaking skills, Indian government has focused on education
and increased formation relating information and communications technology at
schools. Almost in all of the high schools, it is becoming obligatory for the students
to take software programming courses such as C plus plus. With this high
concentration on education, India manages to produce 500,000 engineers per year.
Although more than half of the graduates of engineering do not conform to world
standards of engineering, they form an excellent technical class for high tech

Other pre marriage celebrations consist of Mehndi, Sangeet, and Tilak. Mehndi,
also known as henna, plays a great role in the wedding celebrations. There is a
whole day devoted to the Mehndi Ceremony, which is performed by the bride s

remarkable diversity of foods, exquisite decorations with an elegant assortment of

Film Analysis Of The Movie Training Day

officers in films can alter a person s understanding of the law enforcement. Police
officers are portrayed by two sides; good or bad. The movie I will be closely

issue between the Russian Mafia and Detective Harris. The Russian Mafia was
going to kill Detective Harris unless he pays them 1 million dollars or he will be

members. The final draw was seizing four million dollars from Roger s house by
using an arrest warrant that had to be purchased. Roger was a retired officer and

Panigrahi and Amirapu in 2012 conducted research on An assessment of EIA system

established in India but coordination is vital for an effective EIA system. Interviews
with the officials and consultants showed that there is weak coordination among the
decision makers, SPCBs, consultants, proponents and other agencies/line
departments. Proponents and consultants do not consult concerned departments and
agencies during preparation of EIA reports to identify issues. The authors carried
out the assessment of the EIA process and identified the following weakness in the
system. There are comprehensive guidelines, legal and legislative provisions but
administrative setup is very weak. EIA is just a formality as most of the time EIA is
conducted after start of construction. Coordination among the consultants and
planners are very weak. Involvement of stakeholders into ToR process during
scoping is inadequate which results in a thin coverage of socio economic and
environmental issues in the EIA reports. The quality of EIA reports are very poor
and not up to the mark. The reason identified is the lack of experts and professionals.
There are many weaknesses identified in the reports such as it hardly discusses the
limitations and assumptions carried out by consultants.
Teaching Is A Important Part Of The Nursing Process
Although teaching may be done first, last, or in the middle of patient care, teaching is
a very important part of the nursing process. Teaching is important for the patient and
family to understand the importance of their care, and it allows them to make an
informed decision on the care they receive. To appropriately teach a patient we must

himself. The comparison shows the fact that the poor/middle class people actually
contribute more as a percentage of their income toward society but ironically
according to the government policies they have pay more taxes. Furthermore,
Buffett provides his personal example that last year he paid the least percentages of
taxes in his office. Buffett uses several precise data to show the difference. In the
third paragraph, Buffett states, But what I paid was only 17.4 percent of my taxable
income and that s actually a lower percentage than was paid by any of the other 20
people inner office. Their taxburdens ranged from 33 percent to 41 percent and
averaged 36 percent (275). The exact numbers like 17.4%, 36% provide strong
demonstration. From these two number we could easily find that Buffett, as one of
the richest person in the world actually paid half percentage of taxes compare with

Swot Analysis For Tim Hortons
The business I have chosen to analyze is Tim Hortons. Tim Hortons Inc. is a
multinational quick service restaurant based in Canada and it is also the largest one
in this country. Tim Hortons is known for its coffee and donuts which were the only

Persuasive Speech on Sleeping Habits Essay
John Reese Claybrook 11/7/12 COM 2241 DiggsAre you tired and having trouble
paying attention in class? Focusing on tasks at hand? Or just completely being
overall unproductive? The average college student is deprived at least two full
hours asleep each night according to College Tidbits a website designed to promote
healthy lifestyles and productivity in daily college life. These results were pooled
from multiple surveys done over hundreds of campuses throughout the United States.
Today, I hope to persuade you to fight the statistics and get those extra two hours of

A number put forth by Rebecca Shragge in 2010 a sociologists and news reporter
from California. Luckily it is not too late. You should take advantage of the time
you have and follow these easy tips: Adjust lighting at the proper time for sleep, a
dim or dark room will signal to the body that it is time to rest; keep your sleep
schedule on the weekends consistent with your class schedule; if you have eight o
clock classes during the week do not sleep in until 1pm on Saturday and Sunday;
turn off notification from your cell phone or other electronic devices, use an actual
alarm clock to wake you up so you are able to silence any other objects that have
the potential to wake you up; and finally get in the habit of getting the full seven to
nine hours suggested, once your body becomes used to this it will expect the same
every night and will set its own personal sleep schedule. I know you do not want to
continue to live an unhealthy lifestyle why your body deteriorates and begins to
malfunction due to you not taking care of yourself and providing your body with the
rest it needs. In conclusion, get those two additional hours of sleep that your peers
seem to lack, get the fully suggested 7 9 hours. We have identified what causes
college students to lose those much needed hours and we have analyzed the affects
those two

Essays On Leadership Qualities. Leadership essay

  • 1. Essays On Leadership Qualities Writing an essay on the topic of leadership qualities can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the subject is broad and multifaceted, requiring a comprehensive understanding of leadership theories, personal anecdotes, and the ability to articulate complex ideas. On the other hand, the challenge lies in navigating the fine line between being informative and avoiding clichГ©s that often plague discussions about leadership. Crafting an engaging and insightful essay involves delving into various dimensions of leadership, such as the difference between leadership and management, the impact of leadership styles on organizational culture, and the role of emotional intelligence in effective leadership. Moreover, addressing contemporary issues in leadership and incorporating real-life examples of successful leaders can add depth and relevance to the essay. However, the difficulty doesn't end with the research and conceptualization. A well-structured essay requires a coherent flow of ideas, logical transitions between paragraphs, and a compelling introduction and conclusion. Balancing theoretical frameworks with practical examples and personal reflections can be a delicate task, demanding both analytical and creative thinking. Furthermore, individual perspectives on leadership can vary widely, making it challenging to strike a balance between presenting a universal understanding of leadership qualities and acknowledging diverse viewpoints. Additionally, the essay should reflect a genuine appreciation for the importance of leadership in various contexts, from business to politics and beyond. In conclusion, writing an essay on leadership qualities is a demanding task that requires a blend of research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Navigating through the intricacies of this topic to produce a well-crafted essay is undoubtedly a formidable challenge, but the process itself can be enlightening and rewarding for those who embark on it. • 2. Enthroned Madonna Vs Ossanti Madonna After thoroughly reading Chapters one and two, it became transparent that both Enthroned Madonna and Child and Ognissanti Madonna are nonetheless similar in size, structure and style. Beginning with his work, the painting is roughly twelve feet tall. Cimabue used various leveled scale with the indivduals in this piece (the idea that greater is better and generally critical). Various leveled scale implies placing things all together of significance in respect to estimate. In this piece the blessed messengers in the upper part don t number towards the various leveled scale since it is just used between individuals, not celestial. The prophets at the base are from the old confirmation. One approach to select prophets in works of art is that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Giotto picked and masterminded his subjects deliberately. The larger than usual, forcing Madonna, the grave, noble infant Jesus, and the mindful, devout holy messengers and holy people at their feet are all similarly urgent parts of the artwork and, separately, appear to have their very own existence. Maybe the most momentous part of the Ognissanti Madonna is Giotto s amazing utilization of shading. With a conventional gold foundation, the gold of the blessed messengers radiances and gold lines along the royal position, the sketch appears to sparkle in a majestic, heavenly light. The warm greens and reds, diverged from the light pinks and purples, serve to acculturate and help the generally profound, ethereal painting. Surface assumes a key part in the Ognissanti Madonna, particularly in the characteristics of di Bondone s subjects. An investigating take a gander at the composition uncovers the strikingly human like surface of the fragile living creature and the painstakingly nuanced outward appearances of elegance, delight and regard. The apparel, as well, exhibits di Bondone s careful scrupulousness. The thick, rich robes of the Madonna fall reasonably between her legs, the free creases appearing to possess genuine space. As he would do all through

It not only was the battle that had largest number of casualties but it was also located in a very isolated piece of land in upstate Pennsylvania. Gettysburg National Military Park has gone through many phases throughout its history; one thing that has not changed and that is the importance of remembrance of the soldiers and their sacrifices. The changes that occurred through the decades at GettysburgNational Battlefield mirror the social climate in the United States. In the year of 1895, Gettysburg went from being a privately owned property to becoming a Military Park. Many things would change from the Military Park though once the 1930 s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With its location Gettysburg remained untouched until tourists and looters invaded the sacred hollow ground to find souvenirs from the corpses before the battlefield was officially preserved. For example, the commission reported a problem with thoughtless or mischievous visitors, and particularly the mutilation of monuments by sacrilegious relic hunters that sometimes infest the ground with the sense of reverence wholly undeveloped. Once the battlefield was officially taken over by the Park Service, the main goal would be to protect and preserve the sacred ground. (Continue on somehow) The changes at Gettysburg National Battlefield in the 1960 s echoed the nation s patriotism and desire for unity in light of the Cold War and the Civil Rights Movement. With the change in society, Gettysburg faced an increase in population at the park each year it increased by the thousands. With the result of large crowds, the park made some changes. • 4. The, The Sold Out Ones, By Luis Valdez Los Vendidos, which signifies the sold out ones, is a play that was correlated by Luis Valdez and created by the Farm Workers Theater of Atzlan. They have built their theater society with respect to the old show clubs that were common in the striker s groups of the sixties and seventies. In these groups, performing artists and performers would assume parts that would ridicule certain gatherings or people that they were opposing. Case in point, if the produce pickers were striking against a cultivator, then the play would draw out every generalization that individual put stock in or each awful quality that that individual had and would decorate it. They would make their focus out to be inept and uninformed. Los Vendidos finishes this errand extremely well on the grounds that it demonstrates each generalization that Anglos have against Mexican Americans, and places it in a manner that will make any Anglo be embarrassed for having accepted such falsities. Everything that was put into the play was put there for a reason, whether it is a real occurrence or a typical generalization. The narrator before the play clarifies what the Theater Society of Aztlan is about. The narrator is costumed as the Aztec sun god in an Aztec elevated structure sanctuary. The range around the sun god was the old Aztec schedule. It demonstrates that the Aztlans have a decent learning about their past. They are pleased that they are from the territory that the Aztecs started from. The play

  • 6. The Origin Of The Ais Indians Long before the Western countries discovered North America, the Native Americans lived and thrived here. Historians believe these wandering peoples crossed over a land bridge that formed when the earth froze over, officially named Beringia, to get to North America. These nomadic Natives began spreading and forming different tribes around North America. One of the many tribes was the AisIndians of Florida. By themselves, the tribes reigned the New World, but contact with the Westerns began their tragic demise. Although little is known about the origins of the Ais Indians, historians do know that they settled around 1000 BC. The Ais Indians were located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida, from present day Cape Canaveral to St. Lucie. This area would have covered four counties: Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, and the northern part of Martin. The Ais Indians resided in towns and villages along the Indian River in huts. Similar to any group of people, the Ais had a leader called the Cacique. The Cacique was determined by whom the most respected matrilineal family was in the tribe. Unlike the traditions of the West, the Cacique would rule through suggestion instead of force. Regarding to housing, the huts they lived in were framed with wood or sticks, then they were covered in palmetto leaves to form walls and a roof. As expected, the Cacique s hut was larger and more furnished than the rest of the huts. Their diet mainly consisted of fish, oysters, clams, snails, and sea grapes
  • 7. Juvenelian Satire in A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift... Effectively ushering change in society or pointing out faults that have existed and gone unnoticed can be a daunting task for any social commentator. Often, blandly protesting grievances or concerns can fall upon deaf ears and change can be slow or non existent. However, Jonathan Swift in his pamphlet A Modest Proposal, uses clever, targeted, and ironic criticism to bring the social state of Ireland to the attention of indolent aristocrats. He accomplishes such criticism through satire, specifically Juvenalian satire. Swift s A Modest Proposal stands as an example of the type of satire that plays upon the audience s emotion by creating anger concerning the indifference of the voice created. This fact arouses anger, in that the audience realizes the proposer seems indifferent to the fact that he is proposing to murder thousands of children. Contrastingly, such morally unconventional solutions would not exist in a calmer, straight forward Horatian satire. Yet, even in evaluating how anger is emotionally imposed on the audience due to the absurdity of the proposal, it s impossible to disregard the role of humor. There are obvious elements of humor throughout the proposal and amusement in the very nature of the proposal is expected. However, any sense of humor abruptly disappears at the heart of the critism. When the proposer begins stating I can think of no one objection that will possibly be raised against this proposal the humor stops and the voice of Swift, as well as sharp criticism, begins. Although humor may be an integral part of the proposal and certainly a partial indication of the use of Horatian satire, the fact that humor isn t present throughout the whole proposal suggests that the use of hilarity is secondary. Rather, this contrast of humor and emotionally imposed irritation only helps to emphasize the role of anger. This is especially evident when one considers the irony that litters the humorous proposal. Swift s development of the absurd proposal

The plot usually includes two people that are in love that can t be together the way they want to be due to obstacles. The obstacles in a romantic drama film can include a family s disapproval, to forbidden love, to one s own psychological restrictions. The Notebook is a movie based on a best selling novel that was written by author Nicholas Sparks. This is a love story that is composed of a series of obstacles between two young people that are madly in love with each other. It perfectly fits and displays the criteria for a successful romantic drama film because it includes the complexity of love, and elicits emotions. In The Notebook there are countless obstacles between the two main characters that are in love. This allows the movie to fit into the drama aspect of the genre, displaying the complexity of their love. Complex love includes the drama, and difficulties of a relationship, while still being closely connected to the romantic parts of a relationship. This is prevalent in The Notebook. Allie and Noah, played by well known actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, were two people from different social classes. Allie was from a wealthy, privileged upper class family while Noah was making around 40 cents an hour at a lumber yard job. While love is not confined to the amount of money that each person has, in the 1940 s, which is the setting of the movie, social

The Bandwagon effect is explained as showing many people using a product, implying that everyone is using it. Timing is related to the success of a message because it is not always what the message conveys but rather it depends on the time it s delivered. The association technique aims to connect a service, product, or idea with something already desired by the target audience, such as, security, fun, beauty, success, or wealth. The media message does not make it explicit that the viewer will receive these things but the association is implied. In this essay, Ozick expressed her feelings towards the classification of participants involved in the Holocaust, the victim, the murder, the bystander, and the hero. She explained that most humans find it easy to be a bystander in events like the Holocaust, so most of us choose to be a bystander rather than a hero. That explained why the category of the hero is so minuscule. She feels that human nature influences our decisions to avoid getting mixed up in these events. In this essay, I strongly agree with Ozick s opinion due to her in depth description of the participant categories, her examples of what heroism is, and her thought process of interpreting others statements. In my life, I ve felt I have been a bystander because I have been taught to only care about situations that will effect my life, so I agree with Ozick when she states that most peoples natural state is to be a bystander. Ozick made a very clear and concise point due to her in deatailed explanation of the categorizes mentioned. In the essay, she didn t bring up heroism until the second part because she needed to charaterize the other categories in depth. She wanted us to understand that the category of the bystander is our natural instinct, that we are taught to only care for ourselves and the things that effect our own lives because its easier for us. Our society conforms to the role of the bystander. Ozick

With a plethora of films he has created, Craven is most known for 3 in particular for helping redefine the horror genre, in particular, ?The Last House on the Left,? ?Red Eye,? and the ?Scream? franchise. All three films which have had the most successful outcomes out of any other film series including television spinoff series, sequels, remakes, and much more which helped shape and push the genre further. Alfred Hitchcock directed masterpieces such as ?Psycho,? ?The Birds,? ?North by Northwest? and ?Marnie,? all of which have been huge influences on the Horror genre and Craven. These particular films by these two great directors will be analyzed and compared to show the influence that Alfred Hitchcock had on a recent contemporary like Wes Craven and also how it shocked, frightened and developed a genre that

Of course, that is not to say that no steps toward achieving a better privacy have been made by the U.S. On April 21, 2000, Children s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) has come into effect[3]. This law states that no information about children under the age of 13 may be collected without prior parents consent[4]. Theoretically, the law only allows the data to be used as described to the parent. In practice, however, it does not prevent the operator (i.e. the collector of the information) from using the data in any way they like so long as they mention the way of using the data. The reason for that is that many parents do not read the agreement, and in some instances, the child accessing the website is asked whether they have their parents permission, to which they just answer yes without actually checking in with their parent or legal guardian. It is partially due to those reasons that some companies have started overcompensating for the law; for instance, AOL has disabled accounts for all users that have specified that they are less than 13 years of age[5]. What remains hidden behind this myth is the fact that the colonizers had not only in their early days of invasion and in their oriental spirit as Doniger points out, remained oblivious to the brutal act of Sati and intended not to interfere with Hindu practices but also throughout their rule propagated the ideas of caste distinctions. These distinctions based themselves not only on the existing Hindu caste system but also on the fact that certain sections of society were more loyal to the colonizers than others. The caste based division in the Indian Army (formed during the British rule) that manifests itself in the name of the various regiments also further establishes this idea. Although this was not the only way in which the colonizers gave support to the Indian caste system. The occupants of these positions may be either agents or institutions and they are both constrained by the structure of the field (Ritzer, 2004). Economic capital, which relates the economy of the state, and cultural capital, which involves various kinds of acceptable knowledge are two principles of differentiation which determine social space classifications. Accordingly, social space is constructed in such a way that agents are distributed within it according to their position in statistical distributions based on these two principles of differentiation (Bourdieu, 1998). It follows that agents are distributed in this social space in such a way that the closer they are to one another, as determined by those two principles of differentiation, the more they will likely have in common. Occupants of positions within the field employ a variety of strategies, and again, the strategies of these agents depend on their position in the field. This demonstrates that Bourdieu s actors possess less freedom than Giddens s. While there are many differences between these two theories and theorists, I have pointed out several similarities as both Giddens and Bourdieu presented a duality of structure, and they both consider the issue of constraint on agents.
  • 26. Social Injustice In Executive Order 13769 Due to variance in opinions, people more often disagree than agree on social and political controversies. Social injustice occurs when these disagreements lead not to civil discourse but instead the oppression of those with opposing ideas. President Donald Trump s new Executive Order 13769 is one of the most recent social injustices that has been caused due to his presidency. It has affected an estimated 90,000 people and has caused huge protests worldwide (Kessler). With the use of unfair and religion based treatment that violates both the Constitution s establishment clause and the Geneva Conventions mandate against denying refugees asylum, Trump created a controversial problem that produced a divide between not only American citizens,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All he has done since then is keep his word, ensuring his support across his fan base. Donald Trump thrives in the entertainment industry, which gives him headlines and publicity and cheering crowds across America, and he has only brought those entertainment tactics to his role as a president ruling by fear. There are no social injustices that go without affecting the public, and Executive Order 13769 has impacted many people not only in our nation, but also in the periphery, in many different countries around the world. The victims of this social injustice are primarily those from the seven countries, especially Muslims, but anyone who has put their faith in American idealism will experience the fallout from this destruction of our constitutional values. When it comes to accepting refugees now, the White House is essentially prioritizing Christians over Muslims from the Middle East. In fact, in an interview with the Christian broadcasting network a few days after the immigration ban was instated, Donald Trump claimed he would favor Christian refugees as an exception to the executive order (Yulas). People with dual citizenship are being affected now as well by not being able to travel freely outside the country without worry they may not be allowed to return. A specific victim of this injustice, Thon Maker, a rookie on the Milwaukee Bucks, is a native of Sudan, one of the seven countries that Trump has banned for travel (Reports). The National Basketball Association is now concerned with Maker s ability to travel with his team to Toronto for future games (Reports). The immigration limitation not only affects people living in the seven countries, but also those who care about upholding our values and human rights

  • 28. A Simulation For The Motor Of A Bldc Motor Drive With The... This paper presents a simulation for the sensorless operation of a BLDC motor drive with the estimation of initial rotor position at standstill. The system determines the actual rotor position of the motor at standstill and provides appropriate starting pulses to inverter switches to turn on. Once the motor starts to rotate, it then directly extracts the back EMF from the motor terminals between the floating phase and the midpoint of DC link. Inductance variation sensing method is used for estimating the initial rotor position of the motor followed by a sensorless operation by back EMF sensing method. The principle behind the rotor position estimation is detection and comparison of phase voltageand dc link current responses and relating it with stator inductances. The most advantage is that it requires only three voltage pulse injections of small duration for the estimation of rotor position. A resolution of 30o can be achieved. The effectiveness of the method is validated by simulation results in Matlab Simulink platform. Keywords Brushless DC(BLDC), saturation, rotor position, voltage pulse injection. I. The HRM policy of a firm is looked as a most important strength which needs to be taken care of all the time to have a competitive advantage within the industry they operating in. Multinational corporations (MNCs) seek to transfer their home country human resource management (HRM) practices to their overseas subsidiary as to them it is just another approach towards globalisation. It can be an element of success for MNCs if they manage to transfer these HRM practices across their subsidiaries in an effective manner. An effective transition of these policies depends on the organisational, cultural, social and relational factors (Bartlett amp; Ghoshal 1998; Evans, Pucik amp; Barsoux 2002; Poedenphant 2002). The transition of these policies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The whole procedure of international strategy is from adopting the policies implemented from the parent company to the enhancement of the competencies developed at the subsidiary, which will complement the organization on the whole. International experience is also one of the factors that push a MNC to implement the home country HRM policies across their subsidiaries. It depends on how long a MNC has been active in their international operations that impact the nature of their decision while implementing HR policies across their subsidiaries. Having a lack of international experience, a MNC will make their subsidiaries adopt their home country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors on the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). A MNC with more international experience is less likely to adapt their home country policies as the more a firm gains international experience, the less dominant their home country HR policies become. Looking from the dependency theory s point of view, the need for control also pushes a MNC to implement their home based policies. The stronger the need is, the more the necessity of integrating these policies will grow, and hence there is a probability that the HR practice will resemble the home country practices. The more dependent a subsidiary is to their parent, the more the firm will try

  • 31. Mary Rowlandson s Captivity Narrative Analysis Mary Rowlandson s captivity narrative was published anonymously by someone who wanted to protect Rowlandson as a woman author. Davis writes, the publisher claims credit for persuading this modest woman to allow publication of her private material and gives credibility to a work that would not be allowed to stand on its own because of its female author (58). While the publisher takes credit for getting Rowlandson to publish her captivity narrative, he also encourages the audience in the preface to accept the work of Rowlandson, a woman. He even reminds the audience that Rowlandson is the wife of a minister (Davis 58). By doing all of this, he is trying to make sure the audience does not discredit her work simply because it was written by a woman. It is important to understand the women s role in the Puritan society. The Puritans believe that a woman is Christ s bride, husband s wife, a mother, and a good wife. Women in this time were required to obey and submit to men in authority, especially their husbands (Davis 54). This is idea of submitting to husbands is biblical. Ephesians 5: 22 24 states, Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife ... Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything (The Bible). Since the Puritans studied the scripture and followed, it is understandable why this is a Puritan belief. This idea of submitting is shown between Rowlandson and her Indian master. She is aware of the consequences and wants to be in favor with him; therefore, she used her Puritan ideology to gain favor (Davis 54). For example, in the ninth remove, Rowlandson writes, At last he told me if I would make another shirt, for a papoose not yet born, he would give me a knife, which he did when I had done it (280). In this passage, Rowlandson is submitting to her master by making another shirt in order to receive a knife from him. Overall, in her narrative, it is seen that Rowlandson stays true to the Puritan belief of women submitting to men, even though it is not her husband. Many Puritans saw this captivity as a punishment for sins similar to the forty years of wandering for the

Proponents and consultants do not consult concerned departments and agencies during preparation of EIA reports to identify issues. The authors carried out the assessment of the EIA process and identified the following weakness in the system. There are comprehensive guidelines, legal and legislative provisions but administrative setup is very weak. EIA is just a formality as most of the time EIA is conducted after start of construction. Coordination among the consultants and planners are very weak. Involvement of stakeholders into ToR process during scoping is inadequate which results in a thin coverage of socio economic and environmental issues in the EIA reports. The quality of EIA reports are very poor and not up to the mark. The reason identified is the lack of experts and professionals. There are many weaknesses identified in the reports such as it hardly discusses the limitations and assumptions carried out by consultants.
