1. Essays On Hinduism
Writing an essay on the topic "Essays On Hinduism" can be a challenging task for various
reasons. First and foremost, Hinduism is a complex and multifaceted religion with a rich history
spanning thousands of years. The vast array of beliefs, practices, rituals, and philosophical
concepts within Hinduism can make it challenging to cover all aspects comprehensively within
the confines of an essay.
Additionally, navigating through the numerous schools of thought, scriptures, and cultural
variations within Hinduism requires in-depth research and a nuanced understanding of the
subject matter. The diversity of interpretations and perspectives on key concepts such as dharma,
karma, moksha, and the pantheon of deities further adds to the complexity of crafting a well-
rounded essay.
Moreover, addressing the historical development of Hinduism, its impact on society, and its role
in shaping cultural, political, and social norms demands a thorough exploration of academic
sources. The synthesis of information from various disciplines, including history, theology,
sociology, and anthropology, is crucial to provide a comprehensive analysis.
Furthermore, the sensitivity of religious topics requires a balanced and respectful approach to
avoid misrepresentation or misinterpretation of beliefs. Navigating cultural nuances and avoiding
cultural appropriation is essential to maintain the integrity of the essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Essays On Hinduism" entails a significant
challenge due to the multifaceted nature of the subject, the need for extensive research, and the
requirement for a nuanced and respectful approach. As with any complex topic, it is crucial to
approach the task with diligence, curiosity, and a commitment to presenting a well-informed

2. Essay On Jazz Dance
Jazz dance historical background
Jazz dancing has a unique history and has been influenced by many other dance styles
and techniques. Like jazz music, its roots can be found in African and slave
traditions. It then took inspiration from the tap, Minstrel shows, vaudeville, swing,
and Broadway. Consequently, the styles associated with jazz dancing change
regularly.
When African slaves in the 1800s were traveling to America, they were allowed to
dance to sustain their fitness. Such dances proceeded when they arrived at the
plantations on which they worked in South America. Amid the early 1900s, this
contributed to black Americans to lead the jazz movement. The movement quickly
spread to the audience and public, resulting in the development of dances like the
Charleston, Jitterbug, Boogie Woogie and Swing.
Jack Cole was one of the greatest individual influencers of jazz dance, as we know it
today. He was a choreographer and theatre director born in 1911, and is sometimes
referred to as the father of jazz dance. He developed some of the ballet based
movements and theatrical expression which have become cornerstones in
contemporary jazz dance.

3. The Moon is Down by John Steinbeck Essay
Throughout The Moon is Down by John Steinbeck, a controversial debate upon
whether or not the novel is successful in praising the ideals of democracy and free
choice occurs. Some readers claim this is not possible because the invaders are
portrayed as sympathetic characters but I refuse to agree with this argument.
Throughout the book, I saw evidence to support the fact that the novel is successful
in praising democracyand free choice such as the inability for the invadersto take
away the townspeople s personal actions, the importance of the individual, an idea
upon which democracy is founded but also the pain that occurs when freedom is
taken away. Many people argue that The Moon is Down is not successful because

Molly Morden was a victim of the invader s iron fist but she was also trapped within
the town, her freedoms restricted. She proved that freedom, limited as it was, still
existed when she killed Lieutenant Tonder, revealing that free choice was
successfully shown.
The popular novel by John Steinbeck is successful in praising the ideals of
democracy and free choice because it reveals the importance of the individual, an
idea upon which democracy is formed. Alex Morden states, I m not sorry. He told
me to go to work me, a free man! I used to be alderman. He said I had to work. (p
53) Alex was the man who sparked the fire within the townspeople s hearts. His
freedom as an individual was taken away and because of this he killed Captain
Bentick, providing him with a death sentence. When Alex died, a rebellion began to
grow, his death the catalyst to regain the townspeople s freedom. As Alex is a
symbol to the rebellion, the individual is the symbol for democracy. Without
freedom, you have no satisfaction that a democracy grants. When the invaders no
longer ran under the pretense of democracy and killed Alex, the rebellion began to
grow into a raging fight for freedom, proving that the ideal of democracy is
successful.
The Moon is Down is successful in its ideals because it shows the pain that occurs
when freedom is taken away. Molly Morden states, I don t know why they let him
come home. He was confused. He

6. Failure of IMF and World Bank Policies in Sub-Saharan
Africa
Failure of IMF and World Bank Policies in Sub Saharan Africa
Over the last several hundred years, Africa has been deprived of the peace that it so
desperately needs. For over 400 years, Africa was subjected to the harsh trans
Atlantic slave trade. Europeans and Americans brutally uprooted millions of Africans
and shipped them away. Torn away from their homes, Africans were inhumanely
exploited for their labor. The slave trade had a devastating effect not only on those
involved, but also on future generations to come. The exploitation of Africans
continued even after slavery was abolished. A new formof slavery disguised as
colonialism quickly took form as an institutionalized method of exploiting Africans.

In the following essay, I will show how the policies in place now are neither working
but also making the situation worse. In order to solve the debt crisis in Africa, I
propose the following three measures:
1)The Cancellation of all external debt
2)Investments in health, education, and infrastructure
3)New trade policies to fix the disparity in trade between African countries and
industrialized nations.
New methods need to be taken in order to at least curtail the region?s downward
spiral. Cleary, the policies in place now undermine the economic development of
African countries.
The IMF and World Bank
The IMF was established in 1945 by the United Nations to improve the health of the
world economy. It was designed in order to avoid the catastrophic economic policies
that had contributed to the Great Depression in the 1930s. The IMF is an
international organization comprised of 184 member countries. It was established
with the goal in mind of promoting international monetary cooperation in order to
stimulate economic growth and provide temporary financial assistance to countries to
help alleviate problems associated with debt. Acting as the central institution of the
international monetary system, the IMF?s main objective is to prevent crises in the
system by advising countries to implement reliable economic policies. It also

7. Social Criticism In The Chimney Sweeper
With reference to both texts discuss the use of social criticism in the chimney sweeper
The Chimney Sweeper from Songs of Innocence in 1789 and The chimney sweeper
from songs of experience in 1794 both are written by William Blake who is the one
of the first writers of the Romantic Period. The first poem is indescribable litter

angel s love and mercy , God will make good children s fatherly promise which
created an image that God could bring brightness life to poor people. This poem
showed William s sympathy of poor children who live in misery and suffering real
life and criticized this dark society. Poet also tell readers that be patient and wait
for God to help people. In the second poem, William said that they think they have
done me no jury, and are gone to praise God and his Priest and King who make up a
heaven of our misery , which use irony to show that omnipotent and merciful God
not only save the litter chimney sweepers, but also associated priests and King to
make a heaven above their painful. Poet does not praise the God; instead, it
criticizes the God, Priests and King. On the other hand, he also criticizes the dark
religion and politics at that time. Poet fee angry because that although children are
trying to become happy, society take away their pure! Poet also pointed out that
people are being faced with Religious oppression and political oppression at that
time. Thus, these two poems are talking about the same characters, the huge
difference of these two poems is that one poem has hope, the other is hopeless.

8. `` The Scarlett Letter `` By Roger Chillingworth
Because of the irrational and nonsensical actions of virtually every character in The
Scarlett Letter, I find it extremely difficult to substantiate a claim that I empathize
with any of them on any genuine level. However, for the sake of completing this
summer s reading assignment, I will resort to writing about the only person who
displays typical human behavior in a way to which I can somewhat relate Roger
Chillingworth. Though cynical, egocentric, and (dare I say) satanic, Roger
Chillingworth goes about his business in such a realistic way (as compared to the
rest of the fictional characters) that he instills in the reader a sense of understanding
of his motives. Unlike the other characters, I am fully able to empathize with the
frustration and distressful emotions that overcame Chillingworth. It is logical to
assume that hatred and vengefulness would blossom in a man if, upon arrival to a
new world, he learned that his wife was in the midst of an affair. In Chillingworth,
we see one of Nathaniel Hawthorne s characters react for the first time, and perhaps
the only time, in an authentic fashion. At first, Chillingworth attempts to distance
himself from the idea of revenge when he claims that he shall [not] interfere with
Heaven s own method of retribution (69). This claim, however, does not last long,
and soon he succumbs to his sinful desire to burrow into the clergyman s intimacy,
and plot against his soul (112). The pain of sitting
9. College Parking Spaces
As being a commuter back and forth to college I find it hard to find a parking space.
We have very many student, and not so many parking spaces. It is not just students
that can not find parking. Students, staff, and administration all use same parking lot.
Over two thousand people are using a parking lot with about one hundred parking
space. I think we should turn where the old dorms were into a parking, and make a
staff and administration parking.
Coffeyville Community College has over two thousand students, staff, and
administration all using one parking lot. Myself as a driver back and forth to go
attend school would like to have a parking spaces when I get there, but that is not
always the case. There has been many of times I have been late to class because I
can not find somewhere to park my car. As I have learned you have to be at the
college thirty minutes earlier then usual to find a free space.
I understand parking spaces are not a big deal, but if I am paying so much to attend
the college it would nice to have a parking space. I think we should enforce parking
permits better. Schools often issue many more parking permits than available spaces.
For example, at the University of Arkansas, 14,000 parking permits are ... Show more

Lois Lowry wrote a brilliant introduction to The Giver . By introducing a society so

and curious, which makes The Receiver a perfect assignment for him.
Lily: Lily appeared, wearing her nightclothes, in the doorway. She gave an
impatient sigh. This is certainly a very long private conversation, she said. And
there are certain people waiting for their comfort object (The Giver, p. 102). Lily
was very entertaining to follow throughout the book. She was one of the very few

The last con is that the government is almost close to not being able to respond to
horrible crises or event important or dangerous events. This makes things even

How far do you agree that Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army was responsible for
the survival of the Bolshevik government? (30 marks)
There were many factors that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik
Government, ranging from Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army to the failings of
the Bolsheviks rivals for power. This essay shows that the main reason for the
Bolsheviks continued survival through the period was not Trotsky s great leadership
of the Red Army, but the opposition s mistakes and failings. This will be
demonstrated by analysing the key factors leading to the survival of the Bolshevik

Much of the strategy employed by Trotsky and his generals was designed to weaken
the enemies transport system so that they could not effectively organise and
coordinate troop movements. Therefore many battles took place near sections of train
track and stations, which crippled many enemy attacks and allowed the Bolsheviks to
crush each attack and then move on, rather than fighting on several fronts. This great
strategy employed by Trotsky helped the Bolshevik Government survive, and without
Trotsky and his control of the Red Army, the Bolshevik Government would most
likely not have survived.
A further factor that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik Government was
Lenin s great leadership of the whole Bolshevik party. At first glance, it appears as
though Lenin played only a small role during the Civil War because he remained in
Moscow throughout, however, when looked at more closely it can be seen that
Lenin was a key decision maker. Lenin forced through the Treaty of Brest Litovsk
when many opposed it; he did this because he had promised peace to the public and
he needed their support to have any chance of winning the Civil War, and therefore
helping the Bolshevik Government survive.
Lenin also instigated the policy of War Communism, in which industry was
14. Argumentative Essay On Gene Therapy
Every day, babies are born that will suffer from some sort of genetic disease. As
science is progressing, those diagnosed with these diseases are approaching an
option that could help relieve the symptoms and eventually cure their illness. One
of the first clinical trial patients for this new medical discovery was Mr. Robert
Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was a 33 year old male who suffered from cystic fibrosis.
Under direction of Dr. Konstan at University of Cleveland, a research team
successfully administered the corrected geneto patient Robert Calhoun through a
nasal drip. After a biopsy of the nasal tissue it was determined the protein
administered to Mr. Calhoun had replaced the faulty gene. This allowed Robert to
cure his cystic fibrosis and lead a more normal, healthy life ( Novel Gene Therapy1).
While gene therapy offers many great benefits to the medical world, there are still
some risks involved in receiving the treatment.
Within everybody there are thousands of genes that determine who people are, what
they look like, and how their body functions. When one is conceived, every one of
the genes that make up who they will be are laid out within their DNA in a certain
sequence. When these genes create an error, it can create genetic diseases such as
sickle cell, cystic fibrosis, and sometimes cancer. Before, those diagnosed with these
genetic diseases seemed to have no cure in sight. Now, with gene therapy they have
hope. Gene therapy is the process of

within the larger society. The code was grounded in commonly accepted principles
of morality and ethics and provided a clear set of norms for all members of society
to live together in peace (Code, 2017, para 3). The Code of Hammurabi laid the

It is important to note that the Allies eventually established the laws and procedures
for the Nuremberg trials with the London Charter of the International Military

which, in a ex post facto manner, declared under Article 6: Jurisdiction and General
Principles, that the acts which fell under their purview were those of Crimes against
peace (a.), War crimes (b.), Crimes against humanity (c.) (Avalon, 2008). With the
final surrender of Germany during WWII occurring on May 8, 1945 and the IMT
war crimes description being committed to writing a full three months to the day after
the final surrender of those who would be tried for said crimes, there is no

individuals being tried could have known that the actions that they took prior to the
establishment of the law, and during the course of the war, would be punishable

The intent of the IMF was to ensure that any individual, civilian or military who had

Hard times don t create heroes. It is during the hard times when the hero within us
is revealed. ( Bob Riley). This quote truly describes what it means to be a hero
because a hero never gives up. A hero is always optimistic, even during hard times,
and a hero is fearless and steps up to the challenge. Although being a hero may seem
impossible, we never know when the hero within us could be revealed. My
grandmother, Bettye Morris, truly resembles a hero because she never gave up. Two
summers ago, she was diagnosed with cancerand had to endure many treatments.
Sadly, she lost the battle, but that does not mean she did not put up a fight. She went
through countless treatments of radiation and chemotherapy. Even when she was tired
and did not feel like going on, she fought back and proved doctors wrong many
times. She lived longer than anybody thought she would. She will forever live on as

Psychology Today goes in depth on the most difficult of these relapse triggers to
cleanse from your life: friends and family members who use. They quote a common
AA saying that says, If you visit the barber shop often enough, you re bound to get a
haircut. Basically, if you keep visiting the same people and the same locations with
whom and where you used in the past, it s going to be hard to resist falling into old
patterns.
We re here to tell you that it is possible to eliminate these people and locations from
your life in a healthy manner. Call up or e mail your friends and tell them that you
care about them, but that you can t see them anymore, due to your dedication to
recovery. Nobody wants to make this step in their life, but it is one that you must
take if you want to start over again.
Make sure they understand it is nothing personal and that you would be more than
happy to see them if they quit using. In this way, you may even serve as a positive
role model that can help your friends dedicate themselves to sobriety. While you can
t force recover or sobriety on them, you d be surprised at how open they ll be if you
re honest and caring with them.
Making Your Daily Schedule About Recovery
Our lives are a mess of conflicting thoughts, actions, and responsibilities. This
confusion, understandably, causes us a wide range of emotional difficulties. Perhaps

20. The Midwife As Distinguished By Leap
The midwife as distinguished by Leap (2009) research of the women centred
relationship and the Australian College of Midwives (ACM) (2016a) defines the
midwife role as meeting each woman s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and
cultural needs, expectations and context as defined by the woman herself (para. 7).
ACM position the midwife as the primary profession for quality maternity care
founded during training, through the direction of the Nursing and MidwiferyBoard of
Australia (NMBA) Code of Professional Conduct For Midwives In Australia (CPC)
and reinforced by the Code of Ethics For Midwives In Australia (ACM, 2015;

Sullivan et al., (2011) maintain acknowledging the complexity of relationships with
women, colleagues and health care organisation leads to greater job satisfaction for
midwives. Further to Sullivan et al., (2011) research Freeney and Fellenz (2013a;
2013b) demonstrates that quality midwifery care is promoted when midwives
experienced their role as valuable to the health organisation, those midwives that
perceived their role as autonomous and having a prosocial impact were further
engaged in their work. The findings of Aiken et al., (2012) extensive hospital research
of patient safety and satisfaction associated an improvement in patient outcomes,
including mortality and patient satisfaction when hospitals have lower patient to
nurse ratios with nurses involved in decision making, this improved job satisfaction
for nurses. In consideration of Aiken et al., (2012) findings and Freeney et al.,
(2013a) research organisational support of midwives principals an increase in self
directed performance, superior job satisfaction for the midwife and potentially
improving outcomes for the woman.
The relationship between midwife and woman is identified as a collaborative
partnership, avoiding over or under involvement in the therapeutic relationship, it is
advisable to work within the continuum of professional behavior and
21. Analysis Of Patricia Hill Collins s Life
Patricia Hill Collins is an extremely compelling current social scientist whose work
represents itself with no issue. From a youthful age she started to look into the
complex cooperation s between race, class, and sex as an African American young
lady experiencing childhood in a working people Philadelphia neighborhood amid
the 1950s. Her mother taught her the power that an education can have on one s
life in this way, Collins didn t just become the first person in her family to move on
after receiving her bachelor s, she proceeded to from graduate school where she
earned both her master s. She was the only girl born to Albert Hill and Eunice
Randolph Hill. Their occupations were an assembly line laborer and secretary
deferentially. She earned her bachelor s in social studies from Brandeis University
in 1969. She later earned an experts of Arts degree in educating from Harvard
University in 1970. She has numerous achievements that she is even now gaining
right up til today. She was chosen as president of the American Sociological
Association or ASA and was the first African American lady in this position. She
likewise has a discriminatingly acclaimed book called Dark Feminist Thought:
Knowledge Consciousness, and the Power of Empowerment. It is taught in excess of
200 colleges across the nation. She is most known for her hypothesis of
intersectionality and the matrix of domination. Intersectional Theory is not as
unpredictable as most speculations that we have
22. Harriet The Spy Louise Fitzhugh
Question 1: Harriet the Spy In her text Harriet the Spy Louise Fitzhugh treats
tropes of the public self and the private self the secretive part of the self in and
throughout Harriet s status/occupation as a gender queer spy. Harriet as a gender
queer spy is utilized by Fitzhugh as a grounds for negotiating the supple separation
between societal expectations of the public self, and the private/secretive realities
of that very self. Consider, for example, Mrs. Gibbs assertion that Janie and Harriet
need a few graces especially as they are becoming young women (Fitzhugh 80).
Harriet then defensively introjects after Mrs. Gibbs further asserts that Harriet s
mother Mrs. Welsch worried about the way [Harriet] moved and defensively states
that she moves fast (Fitzhugh 80). Ole Golly eventually intervenes and tells Harriet
her that girl spies need... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, the first time Harriet spies on the club, Harriet comments on the unsettlement
she feels at having heard herself being referred to as a she by her class mates
(Fitzhugh 200). The indication, therefore, is that Harriet is still very much and will
always be an Other a she in relation to this club; a club that seems to function much
like heteronormativity, especially when/if someone is outed. Harriet is also an Other
as she unlike Rachel, Laura, and Carrie the most feminized characters of this work
and much like Sport, Pinky, and Janie the most masculinized/queer characters detests
the thought of bridge. Hence, we witness here a parallelism being drawn between
Harriet and the masculinized/queer, that functions not only in relation to Harriet s
spying and her outing as a spy but also functions in relation to the queerness
/masculinization of these

24. White Noise Religion
Don DeLillo s novel White Noise explores the relativity of religion in the modern
world by conceiving a world in which religion is entirely changed. Traditional
aspects of religion, specifically Christianity, are rarely, if at all, present in this novel.
Does DeLillo believe that religion is relativity in our modern society? Or is he
pushing the boundaries by creating a distorted reality in which American culture is
the primary religion? This question is initially exemplified in White Noise when it
states: It s not what I believe that counts. It s what you believe (318). This paper will
analyze White Noise s introduction and examination into religion; in an attempt
uncover an answer to the question, is American culture the only relative... Show more

Jack distances himself from traditional religion when he states: Watching children
sleep makes me feel devout, part of a spiritual system. It is the closest I can come
to God (141). By stating this, Jack identities traditional religion as an obscure
practice that he has no access to. Modern society proves not only unconquerable
but also unconditionally opposed to the practices and ideals of traditional religion,
which encourages humans that it is possible to believe in a higher power. Even
the clergy, who are supposedly the most devout followers of religion, only pretend
to believe. In turn, the clergy s acceptance of religion exaggerates and evolves into
a form of resigned impersonation. This notion becomes evident when Jack
discusses religion with Sister Hermann Marie: To abandon such beliefs completely,
the human race would die. This is why we are here. A tiny minority. To embody
old things, old beliefs... If we did not pretend to believe these things, the world
would collapse (318). Jack s absurd encounters with the clergy, illustrate DeLillo
perspective that traditional is a laughable illusion. Religion is no longer seen as
something revered and adored. Even the clergy s connection to God is not highly
emphasized; there is a clear gap between traditional religion and its relativity in our
modern
25. The New Rules Of A Project Manager Essay
Meredith (2006) mentioned that selecting a project manager is one of the two most
important decision concerning the project. He mentioned the project manager
should have credibility and sensitivity. However, in other books mentioned that
PM not only should have credibility and sensitivity but also vision, courage,
integrity, and discipline Visioner John P. Kotter described a project without vision
is a region that is unknown which is a stretch of unmapped future. In his book The
New Rules: How to Succeed in Today s Post Corporate World , he mentioned that
the main destruction is there is no any vision from PM. Benis and Nanus, (1997: 19)
defines vision as: Something that articulates a view of a realistic, credible, attracttive
future for the organization, a condition that is better in some important ways than
what now exists Furthermore becah (1993) said that the vision is a general
formulation of the desired state at the end of the plan period to achieve the goals that
may be achieved within a certain period. Visionary leader is a leader whose in
running the organization s activities emphasize the vision that has been set together
from planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating as a manifestation of the
organization. A PM must be visionary because it can foster the commitment of its
employees. One easy way to visualize the vision is by imagining what we want to
achieve an organization in the future. PMs who are on a mission with his team will

27. Advantages Of English Language Teaching
INTRODUCTION
In India, parents choose English as the medium of instruction for their children
because English is the language of computers, language of business, language of
science and technology and the list is endless. By grasping the mind set of the
parents and societal needs, the schools in India try to be monolingual by aspiring to
fulfil the wish and objective of the parents. But the Indian societies are multilingual
and hence the children who hail from diverse background fail to adapt to changes.
The children who have been trained to think in their mother tongue feel depressed
and agitated when they are compelled to learn in English. On the other hand the
students who learn in their mother tongue are compelled to join in English ... Show

Such unexpressed ideas are a great loss to the nation and hence the students from

The website ideaconnection.com publishes the patented research articles from all the
Universities of the world. Regularly three to ten research articles are being patented

28. Life Habits Of Life Patterns In Daily Life
As a student at ONU and spending summer for the first time on campus while
taking summer classes, it has been a quite busy month for me. For this past month,
I have been keeping the diaries everyday and have realised some life patterns after
reading them. First of all, as I kept the diary everyday, the length of my diaries
became shorter and shorter. This was because I was exciting to keep the diary and
finding out what I did on that day for the first couple of weeks. I have never taken
diary before, nor have I taken a close look at what I do in my everyday life, so it
was interesting to find out the things I do on a daily basis in my diary. However,
as I had kept the diary for two weeks, I began to realize that the stuff I do in my
everyday life is almost the same except weekends. Thus, it became repetitive to
write the same thing in the diary, so I tended to write less detail about the everyday
routine and tried to write more about new habits or activities that I started to
develop which is very few. Even though the length of my diary got shortened over
time, I have noticed several things as I looked my diaries. In terms of time, I
realised my morning routine is pretty structured and the way I spend time in the
morning is almost the same everyday. No matter how late I went to bed the night
before, I would wake up naturally at around 8 o clock in the morning. I usually set
the alarm clock the night before in case I sleep over, but even when I forgot to set
the alarm
29. The Human Immune System Of Multiple Structures
The human immune system consists of multiple structures. These structures include
the following: tonsils and adenoids, thymus, lymph nodes, spleen, appendix,
lymphatic vessels, and bone marrow. HIV involves many structures/components of
the immune system, so it is important to understand the structures and function of
each involved component. Calles, Evans, and Terlonge (2010) clearly explain the
parts of the immune systemaffected by HIV.
To begin the immune system uses antigens to help fight against infection by working
with antibodies to produce an immune response (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010).
Furthermore, the immune system produces lymphocytes (i.e. also known as white
blood cells). There are two types of lymphocytes produced, B cells and T cells. B
cells remain in bone marrow (i.e. where B and T cells are made) and T cells move to
the thymus (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). After their migration, T cells finish cell
development, become immunocompetent, replicate, and differentiate. There are two
important functions of T cells, which include maintenance of the immune system and
destroying cells with certain antigens. There are distinct T cells which are identified
by surface markers (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010). Concerning HIV, CD4+ are
impacted the most. These cells are responsible for triggering B cells and
macrophages when an antigen is present (Calles, Evans, Terlonge, 2010).
Furthermore, T cells discharge cytokines, which are involved in
30. The Mende Man Pieces Together The Story Of Jesus Christ
Faith plays an important role in the Mende s road to freedom. When the word faith
comes to mind, it is one that concerns a belief in some power and requires
perseverance in that belief. The Mende people certainly showed faith in more ways
than one, but an example that is true to the definition mentioned before is one where
Cinque and one of his fellow Mende look over the Bible. After examining the
pictures, the Mende man pieces together the story of Jesus Christ despite knowing
very little English. He shows the story to Cinque, and both men see how Jesus had
unrightfully died, yet in death he had arrived in a place more beautiful than the world
on which he lived. As a response, Cinque and his friend mustered up the faith to
propel them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With faith and hope, they entrusted all communications to Cinque and had faith that
he would speak for the best of all the Mende. This faith in Cinque as well as a faith
in a better life after the trials brought unity amongst the Mende people. From then on,
they become more than just a tribe. Through faith, they had grown close enough to
consider one another family.
Consequently, family is another prevalent theme in La Amistad. Since the opening
scene, the Mende people considered themselves as one tribe, one people, and one
family. This was shown when Cinque bloodily unlocks his hand and ankle bindings
in the bottom of the Amistad, but he does not stop there. With bloody hands and
fatigue overcoming him, he draws out extra strength to free his family around him. In
doing so, the Mende stay as one unit and work together to complete a successful
insurrection against the ship s crew, so that they can reunite with their beloved family
members back in Africa. However, rather than standing still and keeping quiet, they
bring their home in Africa to America. They bring the traditions that run in the
Mende family and stay faithful in performing those traditions. For example, when
one Mende died in the prison, they attempted to hold a customary ritual to show due
respect and allow eternal peace for the soul of their recently passed family member.
Although the whites opposed them from doing so, the Mende people were fervent
about their African duties and respects towards
31. My Grandparents Speech
Many people only have the privilege of seeing their grandparents on birthdays and
other holidays. Luckily for me, I see mine almost every week. My grandparents,
specifically my mom s parents, have both played a large role in shaping me into the
person I am today. My grandpa, or Pa , especially, has been more of a father to me
than my own. He has held an essential role in my life, and is continually shaping me
each day. My grandpa is a strong willed and old fashioned man. He likes to do things
his way. In addition, he always works hard and provides for his family. Throughout
the course of my rather short life, my grandpa has taught me many lessons. Here
are three stories that stick out to me the most. They taught me to be adventurous,
to work hard, and to get back up after failure. The whole family was there, as my
grandpa decided to make a big purchase. He was buying a 2005 Chevy SSR
convertible, and five year old me was ecstatic. After a long night of waiting for all
the details to be worked out, the car was his. Me, being the bratty kid I was,
jumped in and said, I get the first ride! On my first ride, I remember the roar of the
engine. That sounds like kitties purring. I said. My grandpa laughed and said, You
are right. Those are kitties! I exclaimed, Well then make those kitties purr! He
laughed and revved the engine as I stuck my hands out into the wind, laughing and
yelling as I did so. The fun continued as we continued to laugh and yelled, Faster!
32. The Colonization Of Virginia And William Shakespeare s
The...
In the 1600s, many countries separately set out in exploration for several reasons:
for religious expansion and freedom, for the establishment of new land in order to
accommodate for growing populations, and for an ultimate economic opportunity.
While this allowed for the expansion of civilization and ideas that ultimately led to
the creation of the United States, it came at the cost of the abuse and exploitation
of entire populations of natives that sometimes led to their complete erasure. The
natives of the land, presently known as America, claimed they were subject to
these horrors for no more of a reason than fun and the benefit of the incoming
colonists as a labor source. However, many colonists convey these experiences with
a sort of justification that these natives were, in reality, uncivilized savages who
failed to succumb to their wishes of adhering to their culture. These adverse
accounts of the growth of the colonies are still heavily debated today due to the lack
of truth and bias that exists within the written evidence provided by both sides.
While colonist views are challenged in William Shakespeare s The Tempestby
expressing the natives in a sympathetic light, it is clearly reflected in John Smith s
General History of Virginia and A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs.
Mary Rowlandson through the representation of natives as sadistic and inhumane
creatures. Despite the differing accounts on both sides, it is fairly universal that the
natives
33. Never Just Rain Analysis
Rain and other types of climate are also forces that Foster conveys as important to a
plot or an entire story. Rain is brought up in chapter 10 of his book and he states that
rain is never just rain . Rain represents more than just rain, it shows life and fertility,
purification, and shows different atmospheres. To represent rainin a greater view,
Foster uses the allusion of Noah and the flood to show how the flood had came
down from the sky and wiped almost everything off the earth and when it ended,
the earth was once again pure. Symbolically, Foster shows how rain can be used as
a sort of baptism that removes sin, like the Noah allusion because those who sinned
were wiped from the earth. However, at the end of it a rainbow appears promising
peace. There is change as the earth is restored to its power it once was before and the
rainbow symbolizes that change. The earth was reborn with that allusion Foster
conveys... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

he exits to the real world , it is shown to be actually raining which adds an

this scene it shows happiness and actually purifies Andy. He is reborn as a new
person with a new life as he escapes. The rain really makes Andy reborn within the
new world and he is represented as a new person. After this scene, he is seen in a car

34. No Laughing Matter
The Human League and the citizens of the world had an official name for where I
lived and worked Circus City. The League took great pride in redesigning things,
advancing them, making them novel and ostentatious. Of course Circus City had a
lot of off the record monikers as well. Freakville. Cirquetopia. Circus World. The
Least Greatest Show on Earth. The Pit of Curiosities. And my personal favorite The
Big Top. Nonetheless Circus Citywas the official title of the place, along with the
motto Preserving the past, promoting the future. That was a total crock of shit if I
ever heard one. I guess it all hinged on what one thought the future should look like.
If one were looking for a cheerful and gleaming megalopolis where all of society s
complications had been resolved through the intelligent and unexpected presentation
of equal parts scholarship, knowledge, and kindheartedness, then I guess they d be
out of luck. Nevertheless if one s idyllic future was an expansive, detached city with
widespread crime, unchecked transmutation, and treacherous odd magic and science,
then I suppose they would be right at home. Name s Tom Foolery. I m a clown. Or
what the normal people had designated Homo fossor or human clown. There were
many new classes of humans in Circus City. From the fire breathers, acrobats, freaks,
contortionists, clowns, and numerous other pseudo humans the Big Top had to offer.
It had only been about forty years since the rest of the world
35. Comic Books, By Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, And Frank Millar
There will always be entertainment and in the 1960 s comic books ruled the
entertainment industry, and even now they dominate as comic book movies. The
worlds created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Frank Millar have become pop culture
and people across the world have gazed upon this form of art and literature
combined. The protectors of the universe, as powerful as they can be, are missing
one key component, the universe. The issue that comic books have not been as
diverse as the world they protect is, has been raised many times and the controversy
has been mostly addressed. The ways in which they have been addressed has caused
even more controversy. The argument has many to believe that anyone can relate to

The comic book is a way in which so many have taken to reading and observing art,
and it has changed throughout the years. In the 1930 s and 40 s a child of color or
even a girl would be able to find someone who looked like them in the comic books
they purchased. They were to read Superman and Batman, with whom both were
well off and white. They had to read these characters in order to get their
entertainment before televisions became popular. In the 50 s the comic books were
still white dominated, however, a female hero was introduced as Wonder Woman.
That was the status quo until 1966 when Black Panther was introduced. The
mainstream comic scene was changed and he was followed by Falcon, Storm, and
Luke Cage. That was a changing point and yet many argue that there is still not
enough representation of minorities in comic books. The support for more diverse
characters is noticeable in an article by Matthew J. Smith Ph.D. written for The
Washington Post. The article titled A Brief History of Racial and Gender Diversity in
Comic Books Movies is where he makes his point that the need for more diverse
characters in entertainment such as comic books and their motion picture
counterparts. In the article he argues that most of the population wants what they see
to represent them fully. However, he acknowledges there are many characteristics that
hold true with the minority groups, such as growing up in Brooklyn and
36. Essay About Whaling In Australia
In this essay I will introduce the histories of whaling, how Australia involved in this
problem and whether it s beneficial for Australia or not. Whaling is the act of hunting
whales for their meat, blubber and bones. The Australian whaling act was put into
effect in the 18th century and the global whalingfirst appeared in 1600 around other
countries. Whales are brutally hunted in pain. The process of killing whales would
take 10 35 minutes to die once it s harpooned. During the time, whales are hanged
upside down by its tail. The hunting processes are so cruel.
Early in Australia s history, whales were hunted by using harpoons from boats. They
were driven behind the boats towards the whaling stations on shore. In 1820 whaling

When the commercial whaling was prohibited in 1986, Australia has formed a

the world of the serious situation about whaling. Our action leads people to start
paying attention to the consequences of not stop the whaling. In 2010 Australia has
been initiated legal action to proceeding against the Japanese, intention to end the

2 Important Things You Need To Know When Planning A Funeral
The information contained here will provide insights necessary to help you and your
family create a meaningful funeral planning experience that both honors the life of
your loved one and starts you on the path to healing from your loss.
A lot people are not ready to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for their loved
one. Incidentally, majority of the information available on this subject has failed to
address what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps
families and friends to heal the loss or death of someone we cherish.

The remembering, reflecting and choices that take place in the planning and
conducting of the Funeral Service are often an important part of the process of
mourning. And ultimately, this process of deep thinking and discovery creates a
memorable and moving funeral experience for all who attend.
Why Have a Funeral?
When we pass through the death of someone we love, a funeral service fills several
important needs. There are two reasons why we have a funeral:
First, it provides for the honorable and respectful care of the person and special
tribute to the life of such a person.
Secondly, it helps those left behind to face the reality of death.
2.What meaningful choices are!
Meaningful choices are those informed funeral choices we make that help our family
and friends to create a meaningful funeral at the death of a loved one. The time of
making meaningful choices is not the time to deny your need to mourn and embrace
painful feelings of grief in the coming days. Rather you may feel deep sadness as
you plan this funeral and begin to acknowledge the reality that someone who you love

38. Character Analysis Of Enron
Enron was an educational production about the infamous business scandal of the
American energy corporation. Enron was originally written by Lucy Prebble,
directed by Rodney Lee Rodgers, and produced by the College of Charleston s
Department of Theatre and Dance. An interesting story enfolds about the tremendous
scandal during the 2000 s which led to the inevitable downfall of the company and
leader, Jeffery Skilling. Rodgers emphasized the corruption of money and the
plummet of a once powerful man, Jeffery Skilling, Enronrequired some level of
knowledge about the historical scandal and the stock market. The audience endured
three hours of this business production. With little knowledge or interest in business
and corporations, I personally struggled to connect with the cast and stay in touch
with the plot because of the many distractions dancing about the stage. However, the
acting, set design, and the direction produced a wonderful, informative production.
Primarily, the cast, overall, was hard to connect with on a deeper level. The actress
who particularly stood out from the rest was Hayden Haring as Claudia Roe. She
showcased a powerful, intelligent woman who often stayed in the shadows due to
patriarchy. As a female in society today, this character was the only one I truly felt
pity. On the other hand, Skilling;s daughter played by Erin Cooper made me
increasingly uncomfortable. She was overly sexualized to the audience when the
character is supposed to pu ll the
39. Essay on Federalism
Federalism
Federalism is a widely accepted system of government in North American cultures. To
many North Americans it seems to be the obvious choice for all world governments,
but this is not the case. In all honesty, federalism is a fairly unique form of
government. Out of approximately two hundred nations on the earth one hundred and
eighty states practice unitary forms of government, leaving only twenty or so as
federal nations (Winchester, 1999). Unitary forms of government consist of only one
level of government. These are very popular in modern day politics as they are much
cheaper to run and to maintain, while still fitting the needs of most countries.
Examples of countries which use unitary governments include France, ... Show more

Federalism has a rich and influential history in North America as well as in many
other parts of the world. While it is widely believed that federalism as a principle
was the brainchild of the founding fathers of the United States of America, reference
to federalism in an unrefined form was documented in the early 1600 s. It was in
this time period that the Jewish convenant in response to social and religious
persecution created a new doctrine of federal theology based on the idea of a
mutual obligation between the ruler and the ruled (Wijemanne, 1999). Essentially
this was the very first division of powers, and shared control over an area by two
levels of government, all be it in a very crude form. A more contemporary and
widely accepted approach regarding the birth of federalism is that it was essentially
created with the Declaration of Independence and the gradual confederation of the
American states in the late 1700 s and early 1800 s. The United States fits the mold
most common with Federal states. Federalism was first implemented in the United
States because America contained a large plot of land which was filled with a very
diverse population. Typically the only way to unite a heterogeneous population is
through a federal government because it is the only way to articulate and protect
regional interests. As the United States evolved so did federalism as an ideology and
as a political practice. Constant amendments to the
40. The Two Kinds of Evil According to Augustine Essay
God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent, which makes us wonder
what kind of morally sufficient reason justifies God to allow evil. We know that
evil exists in our world, but so does God, so would God be the source of evil as well
as good? We have established that God is the omnipotent and benevolent free creator
of the world, but suffering and evilexist. Is Godunable to prevent evil? If so, he
would not be omnipotent. Is He able to prevent the evil in our world but unwilling?
If this were then case then he wouldn t be benevolent. A Persian thinker, Mani,
suggested that the answer to this question was a kind of duality between the good
and evil. This pluralistic view of the good and evil in our world would suggest that

Is all evildoing due to inordinate desires? For instance, when you kill someone out
of self defense, would that be considered an inordinate desire? Two laws determine
the criteria by which we are allowed to kill: the eternal law and the temporal law .
When we give in to our lustful desires, we receive temporal punishment, which is
when we suffer for attaching ourselves to things that are lost against our will.
Therefore, humans are only susceptible to temporal punishment if we commit evil
acts through lust . Most of the time, our temporal punishments are results of evil
actions except in a few cases when eternal law coincides with the temporal law. For
instance, if a person using self defense kills someone then they would be excused
from their sins in the eternal world if they were true in their actions, whether or not
they are proven innocent by temporal law . He also comments on a soldier in war
and explaining his action of killing an enemy is then acting as an agent of the law,
and thus easily does his duty without lust . Both the eternal and temporal laws
guarantee a perfect order, but what exactly does this mean? Augustine says that
there is a hierarchy of value with God above all, then comes humans because we
have rational thought and will to live well. After humans are animals which will to
live, but do not reason, then there are plants, which live but do not will to do so or
possess the ability to reason . Therefore, a

Introduction There were several large scandals in the beginning years of the 2000
s. The public had a lack of trust within the capital markets and investors who had
invested their capital would soon find out that they had lost a substantial amount, as
share prices decreased. Senator Paul Sarbanes and Representative Michael Oxley
both came together and were part of creating legislation which would deter future
scandals such as Enron, WorldCom, Tyco amongst other frauds that led the public
lose trust in the markets to never happen again. Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 is
comprised of 11 sections, and one of them is the creation of the (PCAOB) Public

I will be discussing the IT general controls and application controls of this process.
The importance of IT when evaluating internal controls The world is very different
as to what it was many years ago. As time progresses so does technology. I
personally have seen the changes within technology as I matured in years. I had a
beeper and thought I was very cool at the age of 10, then cellular phones were
introduced then I had my first PC later on I would have my very first lap top.
Nevertheless, now I have an Iphone6? Going back to businesses, technology has
helped many businesses become more efficient. When you or I go to a restaurant
we see our server input our order into a screen with their own code facilitating our
server with our orders yet tracking, recording, accepting summarizing the
transactions throughout the day. Many business processes are dependent in
technology for some of the reasons I have mentioned above which also makes it
relevant to the financial reporting aspect. The controls of the applications and
systems are important because of the impact it has on the integrity of the processing
of the information that will be reported on the financials. Section 404 is big on
internal controls, so to evaluate if there are proper internal controls we have to take
into consideration of the applications and systems and see what controls are
programmed into them. This is necessary for the auditor to see when
42. Mistakes Made By Thomas Analysis
Making mistakes is one of the most essential things of human life. Everybody makes
mistakes whether it be during work, school, or even at home. Lewis Thomas
emphasizes the fact that everybody does make mistakes, but it s the step the person
takes after they make the mistake that is crucial.
In the very beginning of the essay, Thomas indicates, Mistakes are at the very base of
human thought, embedded there, feeding the structure like root nodules. As people
know, plants need nitrogen for successful growth. Root nodules enable
nitrogen‐fixing bacteria to convert atmospheric nitrogen into a form that is
available for plant growth. Root nodules are essential for the proper growth of a
plant just as mistakes are essential for the proper growth ... Show more content on

People think that the less mistakes a person makes, the better off they are, which isn t
true at all. But people don t understand that that is the only way we learn. After a
test, some teachers give the tests back to the students so they can see what they got
wrong. When they see what they got wrong, they can figure out what they got
wrong and they can focus on improving their knowledge on that topic. If students
never see the test, they will never know what they got right or wrong so they might
go on thinking something is right when it really isn t. My AP US history teacher,
Mr. Tubbs makes all the students do a succinct test analysis after every test. The test
analysis is supposed to consist of things you did to study for the previous test,
reflection on your t4est scores, and study habits you ll improve or add so you can do
better on the upcoming test. Admitting your mistakes is the first step to
improvement. The next step is focusing on how to not make that mistake again. If we
never made mistakes, we wouldn t be able to

in machinery, and power to drive machinery; with the improvement of the tools of

probably an infinitesimal part, doing the thing a thousand or thousands of times
over and over again in a day labor divided and subdivided and specialized, so that a

The cabinet members in the government were mostly noblemen. The middle class had
very little influence on politics and government (Boardman 38).
In the early nineteenth century people where using labels like working classes and
middle classes. This designation was to separate people who had achieved success
in commerce, industry, and other professions. They were considered the upper
class. The upper class had a great control over the political system. This was not
good for the working class and middle class because it left them no say in the
government. However, some of the more powerful middle class men pushed for the
Reform Act of 1832 and the deletion of the Corn Laws of 1846 (Wohl 1).
The high Victorian era ended toward the end of the 1860s 1870s. The year that
started the late Victorian era was 1867 when the Second Reform Bill was doubled.
In this year the town workers were starting to have some say in town government.
Now what had been unraveling for decades was taking affect. The middle class had
already achieved power in government and now it was the worker s turn. The upper
class was bitter over the success that the workers were gaining, but they had no other
choice than to accept what was happening (Boardman 38).
Increased industrialization was becoming a concern of the workers. They started
strikes protesting the addition of machines because their jobs were being
compromised. The only that workers were heard was

but his major mistake was to continue to keep breathing to continue to live on this
earth because now his clock was ticking, ticking down his last worthless days on
earth. A man that thought he could actually get away with murdering thousands of
people. A man that on May 2, 2011 clock would stop ticking, a man that would be
killed by United States Navy Seals, and the decision to give the go ahead to kill
Osama Bin Laden that decision came from none other than the most powerful man in
the world the president of the United States of America Barak Obama. President
Obama entered office in January 2009 with a full plate of hard choice to make in
order to get the United States stronger, better, and most importantly safer. Knowing
that Osama Bin Laden was still a free man in the world made the fear of many

newer categories with which to develop its implications. This paper proposes the
category of emotional environments , a category more limited than emotional

environment. Chytry detailed the amount of effort that went into each project and
identified the struggles that Disney faced. Chytry limited his talk to only positive

that he did not think but about the pricing due the lacking of discussion.
Chytry discussed and explained what an emotional environment very well and clear

emotion and emotional (Chytry, 2012, 261). Chytry uses the previous quote to delve
into the meaning of an emotional environment. Disney s environments was and

the emotional presence was extremely important.
There are many amazing parts about Walt Disney s career that definitely need to be

about. What Walt had to face or what failures he went through to achieve his perfect
emotional environment. The pricing to be able to experience that environment is a

Religion, architecture, and inventions of three cultures Our world today was not only
influenced, but sculpted by the civilizations that came before. Revolutionary ideas are
what define human history. When ideas are suppressed by what is thought to be true
at the time, the advancement and enrichment of human civilization is stalled. A
civilization s ability to adapt is the deciding factor as to whether it flourishes or
implodes. From the Stone Age to modern times, time has yielded the rise and fall of
many civilizations, each having their own culture, which developed and changed as
they did.

Many religions believed in an after life, most had rewards for the people whose life
was deemed to be holy, by a divine power. This concept shows in Egyptian religion,
the Hall of Ma at was the place of judgment for the dead. In the presence of 45
judges, the dead would recite their forty two negative confessions stating why they
were pure of heart, however the ultimate deciding factor as to how the dead s
eternity would be spent would be the weight of their heart. To the ancient
Egyptians, the heart was what housed the soul, and the soul s purity could and
would be decided by the weight of the heart. Osiris would take the heart of the
deceased and place it upon a golden scale, against the white feather of Ma at. The
time in which the dead s heart was balancing out on the scale would have been a very
nervous moment for the Egyptian, they would have been begging for their heart to be
lighter than the feather. In the worst case scenario, the heart would weigh down on
the feather and be deemed too heavy and impure. At that moment the heart would be
consumed by Ammut, leaving the person to non existence. However if the heart was
lighter than the feather, the deceased would be admitted into the field of reeds, which
was the equivalent of heaven in Christian
48. Role Of Lethal Lipotoxic Hepatocyte Injury
Lethal Lipotoxic Hepatocyte Injury
Accumulation of lipid intermediates in hepatocytes causes hepatocellular lipotoxicity,
leading to cellular stress, dysfunction and eventually cell death. Lipotoxicity induced
hepatocyte cell death appears to be mainly mediated by the apoptotic machinery
activated by death receptors and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress.5 6 Other cell
death modes, such as necroptosis and pyroptosis, have also been reviewed recently.6
7 However, the contribution of necroptosis in lipid induced hepatocyte death during
NASH needs further definition.6 8 Albeit growing evidence supports a role for the
inflammasome in NASH development, the contribution of hepatocyte pyroptosis to
hepatocellular injury and death also needs to be ... Show more content on

Ballooned hepatocytes are not only a hallmark of NASH but also, they have been
implicated in the disease pathogenesis. Ballooned hepatocytes generate sonic
hedgehog (Shh), a ligand of the developmental hedgehog signaling cascade, which
promotes liver fibrogenesis.11 12 Later, ballooned hepatocytes were proposed to
represent undead cells .13 Ballooned hepatocytes bear some analogy to Drosophila
melanogaster stressed cells which exist in a state of initiated cell death program that
cannot be executed ( undead ) and secrete various factors, including Shh, to promote
tissue repair and healing.14 Models of undead ballooned hepatocytes using lipotoxic
treatment in hepatocytes lacking caspase 9, a protease critical for the execution of the
apoptotic pathway, are characterized by activation of c Jun N terminal kinase (JNK),
which led to an upregulation of Shh in the absence of cell death. In these cells,
lipotoxicity induced hepatocyte derived Shh functioned as an autocrine survival
factor. These observations imply that inhibition of hedgehog signaling may prevent
the development of ballooned hepatocytes, a hypothesis yet to be tested.
ER stress has also been shown to promote expression and secretion of Shh by
hepatocytes.12 Shh may then promote fibrogenesis by activating hepatic stellate
cells, the major target cells of hepatic Shh signaling. Hepatocytes are also an
important hedgehog responsive cell type during lipotoxicity. First, hepatocytes

Shakespeare s Critique of Roman Empire and Beliefs: In Julius Caesar, William

conflicts that his death created between mighty Romans. Throughout the play, the
reader can see the overall message about power and how power hungry people are,
but it isn t the only message. Reading more in depth into Julius Caesar I came upon
the question: How does Shakespeare s Julius Caesar show his religious stance and
critique towards the Roman empire? I chose this question not only because of the
hidden critique that he inserted but to explore more on his opinions of the empire of
Rome. It s interesting that Shakespeare would have this kind of message in his

important figures in the documentary included Paul Haggis, Lawrence Wright, Sara
Goldberg, Spanky Taylor, and Marthy Rathbun (Going Clear). In this documentary,
these former scientologists were interviewed about their personal experiences, where
they revealed information about what actually happened behind the doors of the
Church. The documentary was based on Lawrence Wright s book, Going Clear:
Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief and was a compilation of the
opinions of several former scientologists about the true colors of Scientology and
Hubbard s history (Going Clear). Additionally, these figures shared their beliefs and
opinions about Scientology. In this documentary, there are several effective
persuasion techniques which all attempt to persuade the audience against
Scientology. In my paper, I will be discussing these persuasion techniques and
showing the different ways each former scientologist impacts the audience through
their stories. One of the most prominent figures in this documentary was Paul Haggis.
Paul is a writer and filmmaker whose former membership with the Church gives him
distinct credibility (Science of Persuasion YouTube Video). His experiences grab the
audience s attention, seeing as he was a scientologist for three years. Paul spoke out
about his experiences with Scientology, calling it a cult and mentioning many
disturbing aspects about the church

Baseball Park Construction Trends in the 1990s
The current trend in baseball park construction is a retro design, reminiscent of the
early years, combined with modern technology. This trend, dubbed The Construction
Era by Frank Deford of Sports Illustrated, is prominent in three new American
League parks: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Jacobs Field, and The Ballpark at
Arlington. The current idea for ballpark construction is to locate the retro style parks
in the heart of urban areas. The whole movement was initiated by the construction of
Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and it s radical new design concept. It all started on
April 6, 1992, the inaugural game at Baltimore s new stadium: Camden Yards. That
day 47,930 people packed out the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The designers also placed television monitors in every section under the overhang for
the crowd to see the t.v. replays.
The fourth aspect that helps create the retro atmosphere at Camden Yards is the
color scheme in the park. The seats are all green, and each one has the 1890 Orioles
club seal on it. The wall in left field is home to green ivy that was brought over from
Memorial Stadium.
The green seats and the ivy growing on the left center wall help the park to look
both open and natural, much like the first ballparks did at the beginning of
baseball. Finally, the last characteristic of Camden Yards that make it a retro style
park is that it is located in downtown Baltimore. In the young days of baseball most
of the ballparks were in the city since that is where a majority of the population
lived. Lack of transportation also played a big role in building a ballpark
downtown during the beginning days of baseball. Most people walked to the games,
so it was important for the first ballparks to be relatively close to the population. The
reason the designers of Camden Yards chose to build it downtown was in conjunction
with an urban renewal project that was rebuilding, and beautifying the downtown
area of Baltimore known as the Inner Harbor. The next ballpark in the Construction
Era is The Ballpark at Arlington.
The Ballpark in Arlington was based on the retro deign of
