2. Similarities And Differences Between Harry Potter Book
And...
One of my favourite favourite book series is Harry Potter series.I always liked sci
fiction books and also movies and since I was a child I was interested in magic and
supranatural.J.K Rowling is a contemporary writer who has reached a big succes
with Harry Potter series. What I like the most about these novels is her fine sense
of detailing what is need to be detailed even though it always exists the risk that the
reader may become bored if there is no action in the story. She knew thsat, and she
managed it very well. There are a lot of similarities between the movies and the
books because the movie directors knew how to caption not only the main actions
and scenes, but also the detailes I was talking about. There are also some differences...

The biggest one is that Rufus from the book looked more like a lion. rather like an
old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy
eyebrows, he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire rimmed spectacles. Of
course, there are a lot of resemblences or differences like Luna Lovegood s dirty
blonde hair , Nymphadora s pink hair or Neville Longbottom s blonde hair but i tried
to resume the most important ones from my point of view. The Harry Potter
Universe is very important for me because it represents a very big part of my
childhood and adolescence. Now, re reading the books and re watching the movies I
observe things from another perspective, things that evey human being struggles with
day by day, fears that we need to face and societies where we need to fit in. In
conclusion, there are a lot of particularities that are different in movies or books, but
the most important thing is the message that we understand. The message can be
understood only if both writer and director work together. The deeper understanding of
things stays in
3. Teachers Do Not Focus On Phonics
Introduction
There are a lot of misconceptions and misinformation out there concerning how
educators can teach reading, spelling and writing in school classrooms today. A
common misconception is that teachers do not focus on phonics anymore or that
starting teachers do not have any understanding of how to teach phonics. So, what
exactly is phonics in education? And, how can educators teach phonics and the
appropriate way to interpret or comprehend the written codes found in different
words? This essay develops a better understanding of phonics and the various teaching
approaches that teachers can use to teach phonics effectively toward enhancing
engagement and motivation of student learning.
Phonics focuses on the sound letter relationships used in reading and writing, and
involves an understanding of the alphabetic principle the idea that spoken language is
made up of sounds and these sounds can be mapped to written letters (Hill, 2015, p.
241). Phonics entails phonemic awareness or alphabet knowledge that is, converting
various sounds in spoken dialect and representing them in the written language. For
children to learn to read and spell using phonics, they must understand the
relationship between sounds (phonemes) and letters or letter combinations
(graphemes) and then remember the specific letter sequences and patterns used in
different speech sounds. Phonics instruction thus focuses on developing the
relationship between spoken language and written dialect. The
4. A Research Study On Using Ng Tube Feeding
When a patient no longer has the desire to or appears unable to feed themselves
orally, a request for a feeding tube ensues completion by the nurse. Specifically, when
a patient has prolonged bleeding, facial trauma, upper GI blockage and cancer. An
enteral tube feeding nasally situated has capabilities for only a short period of time.
The NG tube catheter tip normally resides inside the stomach or in the small intestine
past the pylorus. The number one complication involved with the use of NG tube
feeding persists as incorrect placement. A nurse can unintentionally place an NG
catheter into the lungs, most notably when a patient has little to no gag reflex.
Completing a test for gastric contents, pH or performing a chest x ray after inserting
an NG tube for confirmation of proper insertion. Another major complication when
using NG tube feeding is aspiration within the lungs due to gastric substances enter
the trachea and into the bronchial spaces of the lungs. Keeping the head of the bed
elevated greater than 30 degrees will reduce aspiration to least possibility. Applying a
gastrostomy or jejunostomy tube for enteral feedings when NG tube has interfered
with therapy or ensues intolerance. The gastrostomy tube, PEG, tip situated in the
stomach and exits the body through the left upper quadrant of the abdomen where a
bumper holds it into location. Internally positioned by a doctor during an endoscopy,
radiology or surgery. Placement of a jejunostomy tube
5. Health Issues Of The Australian Government
Obesity is one of the most challenging and neglected health issues within society
(Glenny et al. 1997). In 2008 the Australian Government spent $58 billion on direct
healthcare and obesity related management, and this value continues to rise
exponentially (ANPHA, 2014). This profound impact on population health has
made it a rising concern at the primary health care level. According to (Monash
University,2013), 80% of all Australians will suffer from obesity by 2025, leaving
future generations to experience shorter life expectancies when they reach twenty
years of age. This rise in morbidity is largely reflected by changes within society,
with urbanisation and global marketing promoting unhealthy lifestyles rather than
promoting physical activity (Alexander Baur 2007). Changes in marketing and
food supply has led to readily available and cheap alternatives to home cooked
meals whilst, changes to occupations have replaced active environments with
sedentary deskbound jobs (Glenny et al. 1997). Furthermore, challenges in the
global economy has led to increased areas of social disadvantage, with a study by
the Australian National Preventive Health Agency showing socially disadvantage
communities are twice at risk of obesity related disease than low disadvantaged
living areas (ANPHA, 2014). Lack of education, availability of greenspace, rurality
and ethnicity are further considered to effect obesity rates, with indigenous women
1.7x more and men 1.4x more likely to suffer from
6. Explain The Purpose Of Storing And Retrieving Required...
1.1.Explain the purpose of storing and retrieving required information
Storing information is the process where information is deposited or stored in a
storehouse (cabinets, HDD, memory stick, etc) and retrieving information is the
process of obtaining the stored information resources relevant to the needs.
The main purpose of storing any information is for easy retrieval in the future
when it is required. It is also part of a company s business practice. Storing
documents have to be done in proper procedure so that it is easier to find.
Depending on the type of information, information can be stored in either fireproof
cabinets for hard copies or hard disks or other electronic storage devices for soft
copies.
Depending on the nature of the company or organisation or business, different types
of information will have to be stored. It can be secrets related to the company, highly
confidential files related to the company or employees or customers / clients. So files
have to be stored following all the confidentiality procedures and protected according
to data protection act as these are information necessary for providing quality service
and also for the smooth running of the company.
The purpose of information retrieval is to provide quality service for the right
person at the right time, with all the required information in hand. Only if data is
stored in a procedural manner it can be easily retrieved. Information might be
retrieved for marketing purposes, for
7. Copyright Framework Of The Music Industry
Copyright framework in the music industry
Intellectual property is the economic framework that underpins the British creative
industry music being one of them. Copyright is the currency of that framework. It
can provide an incentive to the market to invest in brand new creative content, since
every recording by an artist can be licensed for a specific value in the United
Kingdom and globally, hence generating a substantial balance of export income for
the UK. According to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the
Creative industries are the third biggest export industry for the UK, which makes the
monarchy the largest cultural economy in the world relative to GDP.
From a legal standpoint, copyright is governed by legislation, which is extracted from
the national law, as well as from the European Union law.
Although copyright can be financially beneficial for the turf, its infringement causes
damage to the music industry. Specifically, in a continuously developing digital
environment, it is easier to acquire, create, market and sell music. However, along
with these improvements, there has arisen the opportunity to unlawfully acquire
music, and thus breach the law concerned with a sector that is committed to find
solution to limit the damages caused by illegal download.
Copyright and royalty collection agencies commit its resources to detect the breaches
of law, in terms of copyright, and campaign for proportionate measures to help the
rightsholders protect
8. Essay On Margaret T. Canby Diary Entry
Diary Entry #9 (1892) This winter has really taken a toll on me and my life. For a
long time have I not been able to find the joy and happiness in my heart. I have
tried to read books but their special effect has evaded me. I feel that I am living in a
world of dread anxiety and doubt. At the source of this dread was a story I wrote
and sent to Mr. Anagnos of the Perkins Institution for the blind. The story was
titled, The Frost King and I wrote it for his birthday. Mr. Anagnos enjoyed his
present so much that he published it in a report at Perkins Institution.
Unfortunately when my story was read, it was almost identical to a story called
The Frost Fairies written by an author by the name of Margaret T. Canby who had
written the story years before I was born. The two stories were so alike that i was
sure it had been read to me and that my story was in fact a plagiarism. I was
devastated and I couldn t get past the fact that I had disgraced myself. Mr. Anagnos
was suspicious and was under the impression that Miss Sullivan and I had
purposely stolen someone else s work to win over his favor. I was brought before a
court made up of teachers and administration stalking my every move. They separated
me from Miss Sullivan and questioned me. With every question asked i could feel the

10. Actus And Mens Re How Are They Significant In Criminal
Law
A) Distinguish between the terms actus reus and mens rea. How are they significant
in criminal law?
Actus reus is a guilty act while mens rea is a guilty mind.
Mens rea describes how a person s mental state of mind informs a criminal act.
Actus reus is either a specific action or in some cases the absence of action.
Actus reus is the behavior that the criminal law intends to punish. It is either an act
of commission such as stealing, or an act of omission such as failing to file a tax
return. Whether a person commits an act of commission or an act of omission, they
are still doing something that is against the law. Mens rea is only punishable for
voluntarily actions such as holding a gun and choosing to pull the trigger. When one
11. Analysis Of Tickits By Paul Milenski
The short fiction story Tickits, written by Paul Milenski is about Toby Heckler
giving tickets to all those he finds doing wrong especially his mother. How can I
help all those around me someone like Tobey can ask himself? I can shed light to
the troubles one may cause others like a superheroes providing safety to the citizens
around them. My cloak and armor is my sharp appearance with not even a smudge
on my pearly white sneakers. There are many imperfections when it comes to people
behaviorin a sense to not caring about others.
This story describes Toby as if he was a police officer handing out citations until the
reason behind the citation was written. The tickets consist of a car parking in two
parking spots being inconsiderate of others that may need to park and two elderly
women standing in the middle of the sidewalk taking up the space of others that are
walking on the sidewalk. Toby had also written a ticket for a man who was
considering crossing the street when the sign read DON T WALK (Milenski 155).
The reason for the ticket was clearly that the man considers disregarding the sign
and walking across the street. The ticket read ALLMOST WALKD (155). He did
this while maintaining a polish appearance especially when it came to his shoes. He
compared himself to patrolman McVee in appearance and even wipe the smudge of
his shoe. Toby carries his job to be very important despite the way others looked or
may treat him.
The author Milenski demonstrated an

For me personally, the college degree obtained will aid me in being able to better
complete the tasks to which I am assigned at work. It will also give my boss actual
evidence that I have the necessary skills needed to be promoted to a higher and
better paying position. A college degree will give me the knowledge base I need to
compete in the workforce. College life makes it possible for students to meet and
be acquainted with people from all works of life and to possibly build work
contacts with these people later in life. It provides students with access to differing
cultures, personalities and attitudes and provides students with the playground to
learn to handle them. Due to the fact that a college student is exposed to varying
subject matters, both in and out of his faculty, a student can demonstrate to his
employee that he is better equipped to handle learning new concepts since he is
more well rounded and knowledgeable in different areas, both in and out of his job
scope. The efficiency at making and completing short, medium and long term goals,
displayed by the student, allows the employer to ascertain how effective the
employee will be at setting and achieving his goals and how effective he will be
with time management and multitasking. In conclusion, a college degree will provide
me with the hope and means of attaining the heights I intend to reach in my
workplace. It will provide me with the confidence and peace of mind that I can take

families that were shattered and broken apart due to this tragic event. Thousands of

14. Good Bye Lenin Symbolism
Within the film, Good Bye, Lenin!, the transition from a Socialist society to a post
Socialist nation can be seen in the film s utilization of symbolism. Symbolism used
within the film can be understood as reflective of the actual lives of German citizens,
and from this imagery, the transition to post Socialism can be analyzed as bittersweet.
Good Bye, Lenin! portrayed the conditioning of Socialist citizens by politicians, the
citizens reliance on governmental support, the westernization of East Germany, and
the gendered roles of men and women within society. Within the film s symbolic
imagery, these portrayals further resonate the bittersweet transition of Germany s

by Alex, the film s main character. The transition is best described by Alex when he
expresses his childhood interest in the cosmonaut, Sigmund Jahn. Within the film,
as Alex verbally details his childhood interest in the cosmonaut s departure into
space, a spaceship is visually seen leaving earth for space. The departure of the
spaceship from earth into space is reflective of East Germany s transition from
Socialism to post Socialism. This depiction of the cosmonaut is symbolic of how
new and foreign post Socialism was to East German citizens, as space was to
Sigmund Jahn. More importantly, the ascent into space by Jahn is also symbolic of
the wanted achievements of Alex. Furthermore, this example of symbolism allows
for the interpretation of distinct feelings of those experiencing the transition from
Socialism to post Socialism may have felt to be acknowledged. Within Socialist
societies, dependency on the government to require resources and resolution upon
being given certain opportunities can be noted. During the transition to post
Socialism, uncertainty of what a society free of Socialism would consist of, and
freedom to exhibit characteristics that were condemned under Socialism can also be
noted. In acknowledging the differences of feelings felt within Germany s Socialist
and post Socialist society, the transition s description as bittersweet can be better
15. Pros and Cons of Implementing a Four-Day School Week
One of the primary motivations for adopting the four day week is financial savings
for the school district. Anticipated savings are in transportation, food and food
service workers, hourly workers and utilities. Savings on school buses and long term
building wear and tear have also been reported. After analyzing Colorado schools
operating on four day schoolweeks, (Dam) reports that transportation costs can be
reduced by 20%. He goes on to say that in order to realize that level of savings,
schools must severely limit transportation for activities or programs not conducted on
regular school days. The capital, insurance, maintenance, and administrative costs
remain relatively constant. Fuel, oil, salaries, and supervisory costs can be... Show

Researchers examined scores across the same group of students for four years, and

studies were also conducted in school districts in New Mexico, Idaho and South
Dakota with comparable results showing. (Herring) claims that research gauging
the impact of a four day school week on student learning is scarce. Officials in
various states claim that comparisons and conclusions are difficult to make. There
has been no broad analysis of crucial test scores on statewide achievement tests or
college entrance exams to show whether there are knowledge gaps or not for
students in four day districts (Herring, 2010). In a recent newspaper article

16. The Provider And Patient Attributes
Provider and Patient Attributes
We collected a set of attributes for providers and patients from the EDW. For
providers, we extracted employee ID, employee role, and a physician index (a
Boolean value; 1 if provider is a type of physician, 0 if not). For patients, we extracted
age, encounter type (all inpatient in this data set), admission and discharge times,
primary diagnosis, discharge location, length of stay, med service (department to
which the patient was admitted), discharge disposition (where the patient was
discharged to), and an index noting whether or not the patient had expired.
Network Visualization
We created two types of networks in this study. The first is a directed bipartite
network and represents interactions between providers and patient records (Figure 2).
The second network is undirected and depicts shared patient record access between
providers (Figure 3). Visualization for both networks was performed using Gephi.

18. Persuasive Essay On Endangered Animals
When people hear the word extinct, many will immediately think of the Mesozoic
Era dinosaurs. Since dinosaurs seem to be classified with extinction, many people
believe that they are one of the only animals that have ever become extinct. Sadly,
this is not the case. As years pass, countless animals have become extinct, and many
more are finding themselves critically endangered. The number of critically
endangered animals will continue to rise, especially if people don t give this serious
cause a second thought. All animals should be protected from endangerment and
extinction, because of each animal s value to every ecosystem, the frequent
disturbances of their habitats made by humans, and the significance of the
Endangered SpeciesAct.
Every animal has its own unique value within its own ecosystem. All living
organisms depend on their interaction with others and their environment for survival
(simplyeducate.me). Some animals do have the ability to re adapt themselves to a
changing environment, but drastic changes, like animal extinction, can force many
into different situations that they wouldn t normally find themselves in. While
humans are highly adaptable to any type of change, whether it be environmental or
personal, many animals and ecosystems are unable to do so (thoughtco.com). A

more than 98 percent... and are considered critically endangered (riolearn.org). 22

19. Science and Religion Essay
Science and religion have always collided. Science is based on observation and
what we can prove. Religion on the other hand makes arguments analytical in nature
and requires faith. The basis though may not seem similar. A scientist might call this
as the order in the universe or the Energy, which is transmitted in the world we live
in. Religions like to look this ultimate reality as God. This entity is capable of setting
an order in the universeand is nothing but what religiondefines as God. Science and
Religion then appear to be tied up like two versions of the same subject.
What major affects does science have on religion in the past two centuries? From
Isaac Newton, who discovered gravity, Thomas Edison who invented to light... Show

All these affect religion and who believes it and to what extent we as people
actually believe. In today s society people want to be able to grasp, to hold it, and
even just feel it. So how do some people believe in God, we are not able to see him,
hold him, let alone hear him? So how can we actually believe in something that is
not there? Now you see this is how science draws us away from our beliefs.
Science says that, seeing is believing. Meaning that if u can see something then
you can believe in it. We are not able to see him. But his existence could be debated
using knowledge based on what we see around us. For instance when we throw
coins on a table, these coins will stop and arrange themselves on the table. What
made the coins be in the order we see them after they have been thrown? Maybe it
was the cause of Newton s Laws. But then again this order as proposed by Science
implies an order setter. Is this God, a human like, yet unseen being? Are his features
well defined? How do we describe the qualities of such a being? If He is perfect,
his features are the highest level of moral standards, then we can say that him and is
followers are beyond our understanding. We might say that he is wise, he knows all,
and he is merciful and powerful. But these just limits how we express things not
described by our won language. It is possible we might not have
20. Analysis Of The Bet By Anton Chekhov
In the short story, The Bet by Anton Chekhov, a banker and a young man make a bet
with each other based on capital punishment and whether the death penalty is better
or worse than life in prison. The terms of the wager state that if the lawyer can live in
solitary confinement for fifteen years, he will be given two million dollars. When
examining the story, the Marxist lens would offer an insight to the ability of symbols
and its forms, styles and, meanings. Chekhov connects these themes by utilizing the
literary elements of Power. More specifically the power of money, knowledge,
language, and competition.
The power of money plays an important role as one of the many symbols in short
story. The money the baker wages is used as a symbol for the value of fifteen years
of the young lawyer s life that will be spent imprisoned, with no human connection.
They are also a symbol for the greed of the young lawyer, who is willing to
sacrifice 15 years of his life, either to prove his point in the argument, or for the
money. Through the marxist lens the reader would be able to see that money is a
motivator and leads people to do things they wouldn t if, money was not in the
picture. If the banker and lawyer were both not high member in their society, they
would have just debated over the issue and agreed not agree, but because egos and
power comes into play the outcome is different.
Not only is money a symbol in the short story, but so is the knowledge that books
provide the
22. Explain Why The Climate Of The British Isles
To what extent is the climate of the British Isles a product of the air masses that
affect it? (40 marks)
The British Isles are a group of islands located off the north western coast of
continental Europe. The climate is usually considered to be temperate maritime;
however, the weather is very changeable from place to place and from time to time.
Air masses greatly affect the weather experienced in the British Isles and therefore, its
climate. An air mass is a body of air with uniform levels of temperature, humidity
and pressure acquired from prolonged contact in its source region. Despite having an
effect on British climate, there are other factors which play major roles and need to

Isles, and are also fundamental in explaining temporal and spatial differences in
climate across the country.
It is not only the weather that the air masses bring that affects the climate of the UK,
but also, the complex interactions between the air masses. Most importantly, the
interactions between the Polar Maritime and Tropical maritime air masses can lead
to the formation of areas of significantly low pressure called depressions. These
depressions usually form in the Atlantic Ocean at the boundary between PM and TM
air, and bring characteristic cloudy, wet and windy conditions. These depressions
are what are responsible for many of the winter storms. They are regular
occurrences and so contribute to the overall pattern of weather over a long period
i.e. the climate of the British Isles. The interaction between continental air masses
often leads to anticyclones which are the opposite of depressions areas of
significantly high pressure. They bring settled weather, with clear skies and light
winds. In the summer they can be responsible for temperatures of over 30вЃ°C.
Many say it is the pattern of depressions and anticyclones passing over Britain that is
responsible for its

Lenzing AG: Expanding in Indonesia
Case Review
Summary
Lenzing AG is one of the worlds largest rayon fiber manufacturers, originating in
Lenzing, Austria. In 1938 Lenzing AG was founded, starting pulp and viscose fiber
production.
Up until the 1980 s, Lenzing was a company that held its production and management
in the same country and town where the company had originated. Until one day , the
Chairman of Lenzing had agreed to go into a joint partnership with an international
investor. The joint venture was with an Indian entrepreneur by the name of Ashok
Birla, who saw opportunity in Indonesia for Lenzing and the rayon industry within.
Lenzing viewed this as an opportunity to break out of their domestic Austrian market,
and tap ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a producer of rayon, Lenzing s most important fundamental constituent is
dissolving grade pulp. This is a rather uncommon form of pulp, in which they have
been purchasing from Brazil to their production plant in Indonesia. This would be
viewed as a weakness, as in Indonesia there are 14 pulp producers, none with the
technology to create the dissolving grade pulp, but pulp none the less. I believe that
Lenzing has an opportunity to create an agreement with one or more of these local
pulp producers, to enable them to produce the necessary grade of pulp.
As rayon requires a large amount of pulp for its production, they have purchased a
percentage of a company in Brazil to meet their pulp needs. For Lenzing, this was a
valuable purchase and has made it possible for them to continue the production of
rayon in Indonesia. Although, I believe that there is an opportunity locally that would
satisfy their need for pulp. Indonesia has 14 producers of pulp, none of them with the
technology to create the required grade that is needed in the production of rayon.
Rather than purchasing a percentage of the pulp company in brazil, and having to
ship the pulp time after time internationally, it could have been a more economical
transaction with the Indonesian pulp companies. There could have been an
opportunity to

The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock T. S. ELIOT Questions for Discussion 1. How
does the epigraph from Dante s Inferno help Eliot comment on the modern world in
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock ? What does it tell us about the setting of this
poem? How is Montefeltro s miscalculation related to the poem? Prufrock laments
that the mermaids will not sing to him. Prufrock s dilemma represents the inability to
live a meaningful existence in the modern world.[24] McCoy and Harlan wrote For
many readers in the 1920s, Prufrock seemed to epitomize the frustration and
impotence of the modern individual. He seemed to represent thwarted desires and
modern disillusionment. [22] poem uses the stream of consciousness technique. If I

4. One of the most demanding aspects of this poem is its allusions, as Eliot
expected his readers to be as well educated as he was. Some allusions are fairly
accessible. The allusions to Michelangelo an artist most people are familiar with in
line 14 and again in line 36 help us imagine the women Prufrock is talking about.
The function of the less accessible allusions such as works and days of hands (l. 29)
may serve a different purpose. Why might Eliot have included such esoteric
allusions? How do they affect your reading of the poem? Allusions aptly
incorporated lend a rich penumbra of meaning and significance to the use of only
few words. Granted, the average and even the above average reader will need
footnotes to know the situation of Guido da Montefeltro, to understand the
prefatory Italian of the poem, and to sort out which biblical Lazarus Eliot alludes
to. Less demanding are the references to Shakespeare, Marvell, and Michelangelo.
But recognition of allusions brings delight and a sense of intimate understanding
between reader and author. The use of allusions bring a sense of intimacy between
reader and author. Prufrock wishes to be comforted. 5. Consider the title of the
poem. How is it ironic? In what ways is the poem a love song? The title is actually
the only place where Prufrock s name is mentioned in the poem he talks about
himself in the first person. Eliot is clearly poking fun of himself with this title as a
young man he signed
25. Frank Wedekind s Spring Awakening
Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind pushed many envelopes when it was first
performed in 1906. The play, which is set in pre World War I Germany in 1890,
touched on many controversial topics such as teen sexuality, abuse, rape,
homosexuality, suicide, and abortion. Wedekind s blunt and dramatic use of the
caseara in the dialog between characters and in Mortiz s soliloquy in the resolution
as well as the use of expressionism helps further enhance the overall theme of the play
. Wedekind shows this in a series of short, frantic scenes that unraveled what lies
beneath the surface of the regimented German society at the start of the 20th century
and discusses topics that no one wanted to address on a global scale.

The town s pastor lacks sympathy for Mortz s internal downfall. It can be argued
that Melchior is the most positive character in the play. Despite the fact he is an
atheist and openly struggles with religious belief, he is one of the positive
characters although some of his actions counteract this statement. Wedekind shows
the views of christianity by showing Moritz, having committed suicide, not being
able to go to heaven, or even to rest. When Melchoir goes to the grave to see Mortz
and discovers Wendela s grave, the ghost of Mortz visits Melchoir alongside a man
in a mask who stays unnamed at that time and asked him to come join him on the
other side. He reassures Melchoir that joining him is a good idea because it
provides a piece of mind, a contentedness... (79). Melchior however does not listen to
Mortz and accepts his sins. This choice reaffirm his title as one of the more positive
characters in the play. Him acknowledging his faults and understanding his need for
punishment makes it possible to forgive and understand Melchoir as an

Students spend a lot of time in doing their schoolwork and after spending countless

unable to grasp the meanings it really does not mean that these students are not
motivated or they do not have that intellectual potential they try to show the best
performance without targeting those weak points which become hurdle in their
progress. As stated by Sylvie Thivierge Spoken languageplays a vital role in
determining someone s writingit is observed that starting school is easier for those
who are good at speaking as compared to those who are not well acquainted well
with their language. Skills are interrelated and are developed at very early ages so if
a student can speak well it s not important that he can write well as writing needs to
be done in an organized manner so teachers should assist the students in targeting
those issues which unknowingly spoil their literary skills.

In the data collection phase, the examiner will complete polygraph charts, the

analyzes the collected data in the data analysis phase. The examinee then has the
opportunity to explain or rationalize answers to different questions asked during
the exam. Although some may criticize the polygraph tests, advances in
technology, and science improves the polygraph exams. Multiple factors play a
key role in the accuracy of a polygraph, including the experience of the examiner,
the obediance of the examinee, and the way the exam is constructed. It is important
to consider body language when interviewing examinees as well. This includes
things that examinees may be saying, how they say it, and when they say it. One s
body does things that it cannot control, both inside and out, which plays an essential
role in exams. When a polygraph test is administered perfectly, and appropriately
the accuracy rate is above ninety percent. On the other hand, false positives on the
polygraph exams may happen. A good examiner will try to identify, and get away
from false positives. When Ruby has a false

Businesses today have access to significantly more data than any other time in
history; however, most businesses are not capturing or using the data effectively.
A report by the Aberdeen Group, The Executive s Guide to Effective Analytics,
indicates that 44 percent of executives are dissatisfied with the analytic capabilities
available to them today, and that they often make critical decisions based on
inaccurate or inadequate data (Forbes, 2014). Luckily, CEO s are beginning to
recognize the need for analytics and more and more businesses are making a shift
towards a data driven business culture. Data collected by a business includes
internal data, such as financial or operational information, as well as external data,
such as customer or website usage information. Properly analyzing and acting on
this vast amount of data can transform the way companies do business and can
become their biggest competitive advantage. Leaders of the organization no longer
have to rely on their gut instincts to make key decisions, instead they will make
decisions off historic data and will be able to more easily measure and track the
effectiveness of those decisions. What exactly is a data driven business culture ? At a
basic level it means that a business uses scientific data to make organizational
decisions. It is meant to remove the biases in decision making that come from
personal values, beliefs and emotions. Unfortunately, creating an organizational
culture based on data is not

released The Princess and the Frog which portrays different aspects of Louisiana s
history during the 1920s. The film tells the story for a young ambitious chef,
Tiana, and her struggles to follow her dreams due to her race, her sex, and the time
period. At the beginning of the movie, Tiana s mother, Eudora, tells her and her
best friend Charlotte a story while working on a gown for Charlotte. Sometimes
[the] mothers, being obligated to work and having no one at home with whom to
leave their children, was the reason they brought their children to work with them

kissing a frog to become a prince, to marry, and live happily ever after. Charlotte
says that she would kiss one hundred frogs if she could be a princess and live
happy and rich, yet Tiana takes no interest to what her mother says. Tiana says that
she will never kiss a frog, for she believes she is capable of finding love without
such a silly antic. Charlotte is already wealthy yet she wishes upon stars every
chance that she gets, but Tiana does not like to take chances. She would rather work

Since the age of long established kingdoms, the strong communities would conquer
weaker nations and rule over them with an iron fist. The conquerors would often
suppress the original inhabitants of the land, by forcing them into slavery, harsh

residents would live in fear, oppression, and ill treatment in their ancestral land. The
modern era, brought about a different mode of the conquering of kingdoms, with the
same devastating effects of inhumane treatment and suffering of the indigenous

The role of engineers is to improve the quality of the lives of the people, by the
formulation of technical solutions to issues facing the society. Although the
prevalence of the engineering works with physical artifacts, the majority of the work
lies within the intellectual domain. Further, engineers offer technical possibilities,
which work to optimize the social, environmental consequences and opportunities to
the society. The hallmark of a professional engineer is to apply and make informed,
sustainable and responsible decisions. Engineers ought to uphold and own the
impositions and the consequences within considerable ethical limits of the
possibilities produced. Therefore, prerequisite understanding of what the community
has encountered in the past and continued to endure formulates the basics within
which an individual should approach particular instances. The history of the
treatment of aboriginals in Australia expresses the rationale and the manner in which
an engineer should interact and make decisions about the indigenous people.
Engineers should have the ability to discern the particular setting of the people,
before the imposition of ideas and proposals to the local communities, and principally,
the aboriginals. Engineers ought to understand the implications of their actions and
impactions, as well as aim to rectify the problems and issues. Engineers should build

the theoretical knowledge on how engineers ought to conduct the affairs. However,
engineers should have the ability to understand the social settings about the issues
which people have faced, and may continue to impact in the

The feeling of displacement leaves a painful hole in one s heart. Whether a person
is a male or female, white or black, lives in the North or South, or young or old,
displacement takes a toll on their character and personality. Maya Angelou creates a
theme of displacement in her novel I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. Angelou s
novel has been critiqued by many notable scholars for being a classic autobiography.
The critics note the importance of the setting to show universal displacement and the
use of characterization to display the influences in Angelou s life. The critics also
note that Angelou s diction and tone allow her pain and suffering to be evident
throughout her novel and into her life. Angelou s use of setting shows how she was
personally affected by displacement. She also uses characterization and tone to
personalize her childhood experiences. Maya Angelous autobiography I Know Why
the Caged Bird Singsis critiqued to have a theme of displacement based on the setting,
characterization, and tone. Many scholars note that the setting in Angelou s novel is
necessary to understand the theme of displacement. The novel s main setting is
Stamps, Arkansas. Stamps, Arkansas is a small southern town, with a great deal of
racial segregation. One scholar notes that the novel takes place in the middle of
strong segregation in the South (Henke). This setting is important to the novel
because it explains why the different races were mistreated and displaced. McMurry

38. The Gap Between Vocal And Instrumental Instruction
Throughout the beginning of music education, there has been a divide. A separation
between the lands of vocalists and instrumentalists existed and still exists today.
While it isn t a conscience happening at all times, it can divide a music program into
two separate entities. Figuring out how the two areas can coincide will ultimately get
musiceducators on the right tracks for building an excelling program. When students
feel that they can be in both and feel wanted in each area and not feel tension between
the directors and the music choices, they can thrive. Removing the gap between vocal
and instrumental instruction can be done by researching alike techniques and
implementing the coinciding department into either program.

With woodwind players, tone can be changed by simply changing the space in the
throat and mouth. The same can be said of brass players, but one other aspect lies in
the amount of space between the teeth. If enough space between the teeth is not
present, especially with young brass players, an unpleasant buzzing sound will occur,
once again hindering a beautiful tone. The directors of vocalists push and push for
more space in the mouth and throat, especially with young singers that want to sound
like the next greatest pop artist. The music performed in the context of concerts and
contests at the high school and middle school level, however, need just the opposite.
The last way technique overlaps, is in the use of warmups, and technical exercises.
Instrumentalists use these on a reoccurring basis for warmups before rehearsal.
Scales are learned at a brisk tempo for auditions and at the collegiate level,
technique books and extended technique exercises are studied. These are used to
not only warm up air, but to also warm up the fingers and gain dexterity. For
vocalists, similar processes occur. Before rehearsing, vocalists use warmups; most
of which are based on scales, arpeggios and other theory points. They are used to
warm up the voice, and get performers aware of their breathing and voice flexibility.
All of these are extremely similar to their voice counterparts. Some

Based on the scatterplots on CTenure, Comp and Res, convenience stores 5, 8, 40,
42, 44 and 75 are dropped from the model as these stores seemed to be too much of
an outlier. Moreover, Res is not used further as it is now constant for all other
stores (i.e. Res = 1). As already mentioned in the case, it appears that after checking
for the three regression assumptions (i.e. the zero mean, constant variance and
normality assumption; independence is not an issue here as it is not time series
data), the relationship between employee tenure and store level performance is not
linear. From Appendix B, the residual plots on MTenure as well as CTenure show a
more parabolic than a linear relationship. Hence, as is suggested by Bowerman, O
Connell and Murphree (2009, p. 635) a quadratic regression model is used to solve
for this non linearity, by adding the two variables MTenure_Squared and
CTenure_Squared. From the summary output in Appendix C it can be seen that
CTenure and CTenure_Squared turn out to be insignificant, whereas Visibility is
only marginally significant at the 10% level. Therefore, it can be concluded that only
manager tenure has a significant positive influence on store level performance. More
specifically, the final model looks as follows:

During the time when the chicken was getting cared for, something unexpected
happened, The CHICKEN! He laid an egg, what, it s a golden egg! said Pepe. Oh my
gosh! said the Farmer and family. After it happened, the family was extremely
confused how the chicken could have laid the egg. But, the farmer didn t like the
situation because he wanted to keep the chicken safe. He said, Ok guys you have
to keep this as a secret because if we tell the world that there is a chicken that lays a
golden egg, the chicken will be in danger! Also, Pepe don t go the village because
the chicken only follows you.
A few days later, when Pepe was lonely he decided to go to a festival because he

Everyone was drinking and some people were doing a contest. The almighty king
was also there, and everyone in the village was respecting that he was there. Now,
the funniest contest begun and contestants made all sorts of jokes and stuff. But,
Pepe was really funny so, he went to the finals. He said, Hello, Mr. Smiley Face You

42. Limitations Of Law Enforcement
In the United States of America, the work of law enforcement is hit hard with
various polices and limitations that can be good for the accused criminal, but bad
for the each of the citizens in the surrounding community that was affected by the
accused perpetrator. Even though there are lot of limitations on how law
enforcement does their work on a daily basis, there are two main limitations in
criminal law that stand out amongst the rest. These two concepts of criminal law
that affect the day to day operations of the law enforcement profession are known
as statute of limitations and ex post facto laws. Each of the factors associated with
these two concepts severely impact the work of law enforcement in some way
shape or form. The first concept that impacts the work of law enforcement is ex
post facto laws. Ex post facto is Latin for after the fact and is used to describe
regulations that criminalize a certain type of conduct that was legal when the conduct
was originally performed ( Ex Post Facto, 2007). Because of the United States
Constitution, these actions are prohibited from being used by the government. The
main reason why this protection is in effect in order to avoid having the government
spontaneously create laws just because they deem that the action was wrong in their
opinion. An example of this can be seen in a situation where a person hugs a friend
and the government spontaneously creates a law that hugging a friend is punishable
under law, police officers
43. The Between Federalists And Anti Federalists, Separation...
We the People... Words that all Americans should recognize being in the United
States Constitution; As supreme as it may portray out to be yet it comes with many
imperfections that unsettles the states and greatly affected African Americans,
leading future decisions to more disagreements throughout the course of history. The
United Stateswere beginning to form itself up since the Constitution was created, it
granted the people the power to rule themselves without the federal government
getting too involved in State affairs; The Constitution was indeed foundational for the
United States so it could continue on forth, especially with the formation of political
parties forming up their views. There are the main issues that unfold involving the all
these matters, it shows itself with how human rights lacked for African Americans
during this time, the complications between the Federalists and Anti federalists,
separation of powers and the States lacking power compared to the Federal
government. Whether or not the situations were impossible; things could have been
better for everyone, after all the people should have the power.
Beginning with the biggest flaw of the Constitution is the lack of rights for African
Americans. The Northern States abolished slavery so African American were free,
but still would face inequality and hardships, but not as difficult as African Americans
living as slaves in the southern states, due to the fugitive slave act, southerners won a
44. Capstone Project Report Example
Capstone Project Report Project Definition: The purpose of this project was to
design and construct a robot that would demonstrate the skills we ve learned in
our program up until this point. This includes following pin diagrams for
components, wiring circuits, soldering, programming, and troubleshooting on
both a physical and digital level. To demonstrate those skills, Josh and I decided to
create a product that would have the ability to detect and avoid obstacles using an
ultra sonic frequency generator. Practical applications: An excellent real world
application for this type of program would be in an industrial manufacturing
setting. With the rise of automata in manufacturing a microcontroller designed
and programmed to actively avoid obstacles is a must. With this technology,
technicians and other employees operating in the vicinity of high speed machinery
would be much safer, as beforehand, you would need to bring the operation to a halt
in order to move into a machines operational area, because there would be a chance
that people could be injured or even killed by the machines inability to recognize
their presence. The best part about it, is that its already being implemented by
some companies. Another great application for a more complex program that is
designed around this one is self driving vehicles. Flowcharts: Autonomous mode:

Firstly the kidney parts such as the ureter, renal artery and renal vein were
examined. Next kidney got cut perpendicular to the long axis to be able to reveal the
internal structure and parts. This kidney was cut open by a medical grade scalpel and
scissor.
Materials/ equipment used;
Medical scalpel
Medical scissors
Medical tweezers
Wooden board to put the kidney on and to be able to carry the work out

The medulla controls the amount of salt and water which is in the urine before
excretion (Gondar Design Biology, 2015). The medulla also works very hard at
pumping sodium ions (Gondar Design Biology, 2015).
The ureter helps collects filtrate and urine this is from the renal pelvis the next step
for it will to be taken into the bladder; the ureter works at all times in health animals
/ people (Gondar Design Biology, 2015). Urine usually flows by gravity but mainly
the flow is caused by waves of contractions in which normally happy several times per
minute (InnerBody, 2015).
The renal artery is there to be able to supply blood to the kidneys this is done from
the left hand side of the heart; this blood has to have glucose and oxygen in it to be
able to keep the kidneys going as it is hard work to produce urine (Gondar Design
Biology, 2015). The renal artery branches off from the Aorta this serves a purpose
by transporting the waste filled blood to the kidneys to then to be able filter the
blood (Gondar Design Biology,

Kortni Pinion Dr. Cornwell Museum Assignment I chose to do my assignment on

have never actually been there in person I have looked at their website and went
through some of the exhibitions. One of the current exhibitions is Francis Picabia:
Our Heads Are Round so Our Thoughts Can Change Direction. This exhibition
displays a painting that is very intriguing, it has two faces in it but there are tree
branches vaguely going through the faces. I think the argument here is that our
thought process does not always have to be mainstream but in fact we can be unique
and have different thoughts aside from other peoples. I agree with the argument being
made here, two people can
48. The Art
There is much debate about how modern technology has affected the way we
communicate and if it has improved or been detrimental to the art of communication.
In the 21st century, the human race has more ways to communicate than ever before.
This includes the use of the internet, the mobile phone, television and radio, as well
as written and spoken communication. With all these methods, why do some argue
that the art of communication has been lost? This essay will discuss how the internet
has affected this art but it has not been lost but simply modified.
Communication can be defined in many different ways, so in turn the definition of
the art of communication can vary. The word communication is from the Latin verb
communicare, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This networking would not have been possible even twenty years ago.
The internet has helped define the new generation. Modern children are more
technologically literate than their grandparents and parents and a new vocabulary
has come about and those who do not use the internet often find it confounding.
Words and acronyms such as LOL (Laugh Out Loud), ROFL (Rolling On the Floor
Laughing), BRB (Be Right Back), tweet/tweeting (a post on twitter/verb for
posting on Twitter), noob (originated in the online game World of Warcraft, used to
describe someone new to a situation/place/skill), newb (variation of noob), blog ,
pwned (from owned , when you beat someone at something, either a game or an
argument), LMAO (Laughing My Ass Off), FTW (For The Win) and a fair few
more originated from the internet (Reisinger, 2009). Other words such as poke , epic
, awesomeness , win , and fail have taken on new meanings on the internet. All these
words have been popularised so much that many now occur in everyday conversation.
In conclusion the internet is changing the way we communicate in many ways. It has
had positive and negative effects on people but it has a very secure place in society.
In some cases the internet is a useless timewaster while in emergency situations it can
be the fastest and most efficient way to communicate internationally. The internet is
changing the people that use it, and also changing the English language. The art
49. The Worst Royals Were Born
In the year of 1754 and 1755, the worst royals were born. Their childish and
ignorant behavior would soon spark the start of the French Revolution. On August
23, 1754, King Louis Auguste de France was born in the Palace of Versailles. He
was the third son of Louis, Grand Dauphin, and Duchess Maria Anna Victoria of
Bavaria. At a young age, Louis was forced to take on responsibility. As a shy child,
this was not the best decision for his guardians to make. Louis parents paid very
little attention to him, and instead to his older brother, soon to be king, Louis Duc
de Bourgogne. ( Louis XVI Biography) In the 60 s of the 18th century, Louis life
would turn upside down. In the year of 1761, Louis Duc de Bourgogne died. Then
on December 20, 1765, Louis father died of tuberculosis, a potentially serious
infectious bacterial disease that mainly affects the lungs. This tragedy gave Louis
Auguste the title Dauphin when he was only eleven. Even though Louis took the
deaths hard, his mother took it worse. Not recovering from their deaths, she
eventually died on March 13, 1767, of the same disease as her deceased husband.
Once his parents died, his mentors began to prepare him for the throne. He studied
more about religion, morality, and humanities, although; he excelled in Latin, history,
geography, and astronomy and became very fluent in both Italian and English. His
mentors also told him to develop a sense of austerity, to make his life a bit easier. As
a result, he became
50. Royal Caribbean Cruise-Personal Narrative
Vacation is something many people love and look forward to. The ability to put
our daily tasks on hold for a short amount of time in order to clear our minds and
reinvigorate ourselves is something that all people need from time to time. In fact,
we all seem to have those times in our life were we get a week or two off to have
the time of our lives. One particular experience that I had impacted me in two
primary ways. This experience was when I took a Royal Caribbean Cruise in the
Gulf of Mexico. Strangely enough, this experience impacted me in two completely
opposite, and nearly paradoxical, ways. Truthfully, what I took away from my Royal
Caribbean Cruise would be considered by many to be the opposite of what they
would expect. It was the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After everyone was loaded, we were off on our little tram that would, theoretically,
take us to the beach. As we started to put some distance between the tourist trap,
and ourselves we finally caught a glimpse of the beach that we were to spend our
day at. However, as we drew closer to the beach, we noticed another flock of
salesmen who were, like the ones in the tourist trap, very happy to see us. Our tram,
nowhere near fast enough to outrun these ambitious salesmen, was littered by these
locals with crude, homemade leaflets advertising local restaurants and was badgered
to buy everything from straw hats to
51. Critical Analysis Of Marcus Garvey s Vision Of Africa
Vision of Africa
The introduction is being written to introduce us to Marcus Garvey and his efforts
to give enslaved African Americans a voice. It gives us a small batch of
background information on Mr. Garvey and then goes on to give us information on
other activist who also had the will to fight for what he wanted as well. The author
informs us that Mr. Garvey was not the first person to fight for his people but instead
reintroduced these ideas in a time where the African American slaves were beginning
to give up on the American dream and the American promise.
The author uses different figures of history and how they contributed to the fight
for the freedoms of African American slaves. They all shared a common goal but
all focused on different aspects of a dream for a better life. These figures all felt
that their one voice could be a voice for those five hundred thousand people of color
who were not seen as human beings.
Also, the author uses current themes of hatred and bigotry that can be seen in
present day 2017. Garvey leaped into the ocean of Black unhappiness at a most
timely moment for a savior...they could expect no changes in their traditional
status in America (Clarke). When Barack Obama won the presidency, he was seen
as a hero to those who felt silenced but the history of white power in our country.
Then Number Forty Five came to gain the presidency. When this happened, the Klu
Klux Klan (KKK) reemerged and is now an even bigger symbol of hatred and
segregation. This time, it is now white supremacist against minorities but rather
White Conservatives versus everybody else who is not a pure white, or at least as
pure as a white individual can be.
The important themes to learn about in the introduction are the African people s search
for an identity and the all men are created equal excerpt. The slaves would look for
their identity of whether they were citizens of the United States or if they were just
property. All men are meant to be created equal only if they are white. There are
many key figures that are talked about in this introductory chapter that would help us
understand these themes. Bishop Henry McNeal Turner was one of the most well
known and outspoken advocates of Black
52. Thoreau Essay example
Henry David Thoreau was man of simplicity, and if he were to experience life in
Cary, he would not only be surprised, but disappointed in humanity itself. Thoreau
believed in the necessities of life, nothing more, and the people of Cary live lives
exactly the opposite. Cary residents live lives of material possessions, business, and
over complexity. These traits of society are precisely opposite of Thoreau s ... Show

Indeed, we toil the best of our days, and fritter away our lives by detail. ( ) , in
order to earn the perishable items we acquire by destroying the ever resilient gift
we have been given. We all live meanly, likes ants... ( ) , and we forget to stop and
look at our lives from a different perspective. In fact, our minds are constipated with
thoughts we entertain to feel important, and do the job, to once again achieve
greatness through our things. Our lives are so complex for such unjust reasons, and
we all ponder the question that a wise man once asked, why, should we live with
such hurry and waste of life? ( )
Furthermore, our lives are lived so shallowly and are filled with the frail, irrelevant
things, and not the pulp of life. We think of time as the last peanut butter remaining
in the jar we go scraping for, whereas Thoreau views time as the stream I go a
fishing in. ( ) Thoreau stresses simplicity, yet we only feel important by living
complexity. The people of Cary live lives almost equivalent to that of bees. We work
hard, but relax almost never. We have five televisions, but not five minutes to spare.
In the eyes of the people of Cary, complexity is modern.
Again, Thoreau would look upon Cary as a symbol of the society of disgrace, for
we are constantly conquered by our schedules, obsessed with our toys, and
