Key Resources That Affect Creativity Are Time And Money
Resources The two main resources that affect creativity are time and money. When it comes to a
project, we must determine the funding, people and other resources that a team legitimately needs
to complete the task.
Work group Features Group must work for common objectives of their group. There must be mutual
understanding between group members. There must be predefined rules and regulations for every
group member. There should be effective communication among every group member.(Wride, 2012)
Supervisory Encouragement Most managers and supervisors can encourage creativity by offering
due recognition and credit to their team members. Managers can also support creativity by serving
as a role model, persevering through tough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lenient Parent Vs Drill Sergeant Parent
Although there are many types of parenting, two of the most common are the completely lenient
parent who is like a friend and the drill sergeant parent who expects nothing but the best from their
child. These two types of parenting present totally different ideas of a how a child should be raised.
From punishing, expectations, and the amount of freedom, distinction occurs.
Many teens today do not experience punishing, but with strict parents, pain, humiliation, and harsh
punishments will most likely occur. Phones are taken away; some parents even embarrass their
own child on social media. Weeks or months ,depending on the degree of what was done wrong, of
punishment and having no type of fun will be the life for the child of the drill sergeant. The lenient
parent prefers to let the child do and the consequences that follow can be considered punishment .
As more of a friend, the lenient parent usually prefers to let the child have fun because he or she
did not get to when they were younger. They prefer to experience life through their child. Discipline
transpires only when needed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They prefer to give no time in between. When instructing their child to perform an act, they
expect it to be done completely and well at the time. Strict parents also expect nothing but the
best when it comes to school, projects, or extracurricular activities. Time is given to finish what
needs to be done from a lenient parent. They will usually give a day or two for a chore to be
completed. Rules are not really enforced in their household. All parents want what is best for their
child, but the friend type parent will provide more comfort if the best is not portrayed on
something like a test or performance. They want the best, but don t expect their child to be perfect
and appreciate them no matter how well they do in

Discuss How Theories of Human Growth and Development Can...
Discuss how theories of human growth and development can help understand human behaviour.
Human growth and development is studied and researched with differing perspectives. There are
many ways human growth and development can be looked at. Certain disciplines, such as, biology,
psychology and sociology all have opposing viewpoints on the subject. The psychological
viewpoint concentrates on the different processes of the mind, whereas, the biological approach is
centred on genetics and environmental factors. The sociological viewpoint, however, focuses on
individual thoughts and feelings as being socially constructed (Beckett and Taylor, 2010). Human
growth and development is researched across the whole lifespan, however, for this ... Show more

For example, according to Hart, Blincow and Thomas, resilient therapy may help a child in gaining
good relationships with family and friends by tapping into good influences and finding place for
that child to belong. Resilient therapy recognises the importance of attachment theory and aims for
the affected child to feel a sense of family cohesion. According to Hart, Blincow and Thomas,in
providing a resilient mechanism, two things are achieved. Firstly, a sense of belonging, as this is
protective and gives children a secure base to attend; psychologically, when feeling under threat.
Secondly, with children experiencing a self of belonging somewhere, they are better equipped in
facing rejection elsewhere.
Further to the attachment theory, Bowlby derived the term maternal deprivation, (Bowlby, 1959).
Bowlby identified the first two years of a child s life as the most critical time for bonding.
Bowlby hypothesised that if there was a lack of parent and caregiver bonding by the age of 2 then
maternal deprivations may result in the child suffering psychological damages that may be
irreversible. According to Bowlby, children who suffered maternal deprivation at a young age may
often become incapable of expressing empathetic emotions and affection later into their adult life.
In addition to Bowlbys ideas;

Social Aspect Of Reconstruction Essay
Finally, the social aspect of Reconstruction created problems such as violence and unbalance
between African American and southern Confederates. Black rights and freedoms upset many
white southerners who had ordered slaves around for years and caused retaliation from former
Confederates. Violent hate groups began to form such as the Knights of the White Camelia, or the
more well known Ku Klux Klan(Jackson n.p). These organizations sought to maintain white
supremacy by suppressing blacks and government officials in favor of black rights. Methods of
lynching, hanging, attacks on public jailing systems, and other forms of violence spread through
the South (History.com n.p). Perhaps some consider land redistribution an effective solution... Show

Ideally, a solution to the problems of Reconstruction would eradicate all forms of brutality, but land
redistribution would only further agitate the South. My proposal, though radical, would give white
southerners what they truly wanted all along: more say in the government. Under Lincoln s
leadership, the South felt its voice in government slowly dwindling away. What if the North could
give southerners more sway over northern politics? My plan would impose a law against the
individual profit of northern carpetbaggers in the South. It would also allow the South to build a
sort of embassy in the North as its own form of representation in government, under one condition.
In return, southerners must allow for the aforementioned government run labor camps to function
peacefully in the South. Additionally, each state must accept the five year supervision of a small
group of law enforcement officers trained to maintain racially violent situations. Considering the
circumstances, both the former Confederates and African Americans have a fairly decent deal
under my plan. All white southerners become pardoned, states rejoin the union, no one hangs for
treason, carpetbagging becomes illegal, labor camps repair damaged areas in the South, and
southerners reestablish their

Saboteur s Journey According To Dhanbahadur

Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems
Data Indexing
Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to
handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL
(Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace
technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object
in CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via
ltree structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way.
This structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes.

All the communication between the master web worker and slave web workers are made in a
message passing fashion. At (2), master web worker distributes the URL list of the data segments
across the slave web workers which are created in the loading event of the web page. onmessage is
an event handler that is called when the message is posted to the corresponding web worker. In
onmessage handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web
worker, then each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage,
again, by means of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the
retrieval of the data segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master
web worker (4). Index of the data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache
created by the master web worker. Because the data is passed to the master web worker using
pointers, there is no data copy overhead. Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval
operations, the master web worker writes out the cache to the hard disk (5). The downside of this
technique the total amount of retrieved data is limited by the RAM capacity of the user, although
we anticipate this feature to be introduced in the future as a part of HTML standard with the
introduction of the File API:

Pineapple Express Character Analysis
Similarities with fictional characters Have you ever thought of which fictional characters you
relate too? I am a person who is funny, intelligent and lazy. I chose 3 fictional character that I relate
to the most. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Saul Silver from
Pineapple Express for his funny personality, Chris Gardner from the Pursuit of Happiness for being
intelligent and his willingness to strive for success, and Patrick from Spongebob Squarepantsfor his
laziness, always being late to things he had to do.
Saul Silver from the movie Pineapple Express has a silly personality, which I believe is a
characteristic that I posses as well. A scene from the movie which Saul shows that charactertrait is
when his friend Dale Denton gets arrested for selling marijuana to kids and Saul had gone off to
buy burritos for them to eat. Next he came back and had seen what happened, as the cop was
driving away with his friend in the back seat he decided to get hit by the cop car so the officer
could get out of the vehicle. Then after that occurred Saul crawled around the car and hopped in
the front seat and drove away with his friend. When Saul was struck by the car he spilled a red
smoothie all over the front windshield. On that occasion he put his foot through the windshield to
create an opening so he can see, despite that wasn t the case his foot ended up getting stuck. This
character trait hurts the character because it gets him in sticky

Brushtail Possums Research Paper
If you were to take a midnight stroll through New Zealand wilderness, you would more than likely
run into a brushtail possum. This Australian marsupial has large pointed ears, grey fur, and a bushy
tail, hence its name. Though appearing cute and fluffy, be forewarned, for this little critter is one
of the most voracious predators in all of New Zealand. Today, many New Zealanders consider
possums to be public enemy #1. Now nearing a population of 30 million in a country similar in
size of the state of Colorado, possums munch on extensive regions of forest, massacre millions of
birds and chicks a year, and spread diseases such as the bovine tuberculosis to cows and other
livestock (Groves, 2005).

Goodwill Industries of eastern North Carolina is the excel tutorial I chose from the links provided.
This tutorial begins by demonstrating how to navigate through excel which is beneficial for those
who are new or need refresher course. Learning how to navigate through the program is an
essential part because it useful to know how to move around if you really don t know much
concerning excel. It explains different components such as rows, columns, and formula bar.
The presentation is based on the 2010 version of excel, however through the tutorial it compares
what features were replaced or taken away from the 2007 excel version. Excel is a spreadsheet
program that allows you to store, organize, and analyze information. During this tutorial, you will
learn your way around the Excel 2010 environment, including the new backstage view, which
replaces the Microsoft Office button menu from Excel 2007. Also, it indicated how to use and
modify the ribbon and the quick access toolbar, as well as how to create new workbooks and open
existing ones (GCF Global, 2015).
When you open an Excel workbook, there are three worksheets by default. The default names on
the worksheet tabs are sheet1, sheet2, and sheet3. To organize your workbook and make it easier to

Picasso Female Complex
Pablo Picasso: The Female Complex Many artists develop their works from their most
compelling moments in life, whether they are filled with excruciating pain or unspeakable joy.
Pablo Picasso creates work based on a multitude of influences in his life, from the suicide of his
best friend to the rising of his career (Bio). However, a single theme reoccurs throughout his life
that most would argue causes him to create some of the greatest paintings of his time: women.
Critics shaped the different phases of his art into periods such as the Blue Period, Rose Period,
CubismPeriod, Surrealist Period, and Self Portrait Period (Bio). His art was manipulated based
on the dominant state of mind he was in during these stages of life, and many of the emotions
had to do with the women he was involved with at the time. Though one might think that an artist
who places such a passionate focus on women must deeply admire and respect them, Picasso
does not fit into this standard. He actually felt a very strong sense of superiority to females,
painting them as objects: cold, faceless, and purely created for sexual satisfaction (Withers 1).
However, evidence strongly suggests that he probably feared them more than anything else. Every
single one of his periods of art are heavily ruled by paintings of women, particularly nude, that tell
a story about an experience he had; if he was so affected by women that he spent countless hours
painting about it, there had to have been more going on

A Summary Of Operant Conditioning ABA
ABA is built on B.F. Skinner s theory of operant conditioning: the idea that behavior can be taught
by controlling the consequences to actions. The primary way that the teaching is performed is
through the use of reinforcements and the methods of Imitation, shaping, and chaining to acquire
new behavior and either increase or decrease the likelihood of a certain behaviors. Modeling and
imitation are two learning methods that goes together, you can not have one without the other.
These methods refers to mimicking through observation and later enacting the observed behavior
or actions of others. Modeling can be defined as an antecedent stimulus that evokes the imitative
behavior. The model must serve as a controlling variable for the imitative behavior (Cooper et al.
2007, p.421). If you ever observed a group of children actively engaging in dramatic play, you will

followed by repetition. Another example of modeling would be, a 5 year old girl learning how to
apply lipstick. Every morning before work, her mother applies makeup and she sits on the bed and
watches, until one day she mimics the behavior and is successful at applying lipstick. Through
modeling the client does not necessarily need to perform the task in order to learn it the behavior;

Huck Finn Education Analysis
In the 1840s the United States of America was divided by two things, slavery and the
Mississippi. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Huck and Jim travel on a
raft on the Mississippi River, hoping to reach Cairo, where Jim would be a free man. While on
the river, the motif of education arises as Huck is forced to learn how to trick and deceive in
order to keep Jim safe. Huck uses the river as a safe place where he is floating away from the
troubles that lie on the shore. The river bridges the gaps between the levels of society as Huck
travels from community to community experiencing each individual class. The Mississippi
provides Huck with an education, a home, and a bridge but also forces him into becoming an
entirely new person who we, a century and a half later, look up to. The motif of education is
prevalent especially because Huck never received one. Lauriat Jane Jr. best describes this
concept in his article Why Huckleberry Finn Is a Great World Novel , he says The novel is a
novel of education. Its school is the school of life rather than of books, but Huck s education is
all the more complete for that reason (Lane 2). Instead of a formal education, he learns from his
experiences especially when it comes to deception. Huck learns that being quick with words is one
of the most crucial skills that he will need for his journey. Huck shows his cunning in many
instances, from disguising himself as a girl to making others think that Jim is his smallpox

meetings is constitutional. In analyzing the long history and tradition of opening meetings with
prayer, our brief contends that prayers initiated by citizens themselves including prayers that invoke
God, Jesus, Allah and other deities do not violate the First Amendment prohibition on government
establishing religion. Our brief argues government assemblies are not proselytizing if they allow
citizen expression of such prayers at the start of meetings. The Texas attorney general co authored
our brief and a bipartisan group of AGs from 21 other states signed it, reflecting the legal
importance of the question.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Supreme Court, my office cannot shrink from a case or stand mute because the case is
controversial. It s important for Indiana to weigh in on the upcoming Supreme Court case of
Galloway v. the Town of Greece, New York, because the Indiana House of Representatives was
subjected to a similar lawsuit in recent years. Municipal and state officials face uncertainty when
deciding whether to start legislative meetings with prayer, and the Supreme Court could bring an
end to that confusion. While the Supreme Court upheld legislative prayer 30 years ago, a
conflicting hodgepodge of federal appeals court rulings since then has left officials facing
expensive, time consuming lawsuits over legislative prayer practices. Such litigation only benefits
plaintiffs lawyers. My office s government clients need some element of certainty and we cannot
give them clear legal advice without a conclusive Supreme Court

The Vietnam War And The Long Arms Of American History
The Vietnam War is a sore spot in the long arms of American History. Nearly 60,000 Americans
died and estimated millions of Vietnamese. It was considered to be the longest war in American
history as well. Many questioned the motives and causes of the war calling it an atrocity. Others
say that it may have been a terrible effort to defend a noble cause, the spread of communism. The
years precluding the Vietnam war, there was a war taking place in Vietnam. It was known as the
Indochina War, where the Vietnamese waged war against the colonial rule of France. The French
were defeated in the battle of Dien Bien Phu. Following this defeat, there was a peace conference in
Geneva, which resulted in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam to receive their independence. The Geneva
Accords officially divided Vietnam into North Vietnam and South Vietnam
. Ho Chi Minh and his
communist forces led the North. A French backed emperor led the south until elections in 1956.
These elections were supposed to reunify Vietnam. United State s Cold War policy was beginning
to come into play by this time. The U.S. was concerned with the domino theory, which believed that
the communist overtake of North Vietnam would cause other countries in surrounding regions to
adopt the ideology. In the interest of the U.S. to support South Vietnam, they back an anti
communist politician named Ngo Dinh Diem. In 1955, Diem took control of the South Vietnamese
government with the support of the U. S. Later in

3.0 Causes of Stress
Stressors can be divided into those that arise from within an individual (internal), and those that are
attributable to the environment (external). Internal conflicts, non specific fears, fears of
inadequacy, and guilt feelings are examples of stressors that do not depend on the environment.
Internal sources of stress can arise from an individual s perceptions of an environmental threat, even
if no such danger actually exists. Environmental stressors are external conditions beyond an
individual s control. Bhagat (1983) has reported that work performance can be seriously impaired
by external stressors. There are many aspects of organizational life that can become external
stressors. These include issues of structure, management s use of authority, monotony, a lack of
opportunity for advancement, excessive responsibilities, ambiguous demands, value conflicts, and
unrealistic workloads. A person s non working life (e.g., family, friends, health, and financial
situations) can also contain stressors that negatively impact job performance. This can be
summarized as follows. i. Organizational factors With the growth in organizational stress and

Pappadeax and Red Lobster

Prof. Renee Gurley

From a mouth watering fresh lobster tail to tasty fried alligator, everyone loves some type of
seafood. Many people consider Pappadeux and Red Lobster to be the best seafood restaurant in the
area. They are both known for serving wonderful, fresh seafood; the difference is in the menu, the
service that you receive, the quality of the food served, and the overall atmosphere of the dining
experience that sets them apart from one another. When dining at Pappadeux you will have the
experience of elegant, New Orleans style seafood elaborate dishes on the menu. Pappadeux is also

The last distinguishing characteristic while dining at each restaurant is the atmosphere. The
atmosphere at Pappadeux is as if you are attending a social function, while the atmosphere at Red
Lobster brings back memories of being at a restaurant on St. Simons Island. At Pappadeux, the
table all have white table cloths and there are decorative features along the outside and interior of
the building. While you dine there will be soft, relaxing, music that is being played throughout the
restaurant. The dining experience offers the atmosphere of seclusion although you are surrounding
by other diners. This provides for a feeling of elegance. The atmosphere at Red Lobster conveys
an entirely different ambience, the lobby contains a tank that holds the lobster that will be served
to you, and the children that are visiting the restaurant are all excited over watching the lobster
fight causing a ruckus of noise, which is understandable because it goes with the noise level at the
restaurant. Very few decorations are on the walls and there are minimal decorative items throughout
the restaurant. The seating is different at each restaurant also, at Pappadeux the wait staffs try and
sit families in the same area with small children so that the other patrons are not disturbed if they
are trying to enjoy an elegant dinner. At Red Lobster you are seated where ever the seating is

Ursula Le Guin Challenges Utilitarianism
Ursula Le Guin challenges utilitarianism in The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by describing
a fictional utopic city where everyone flourishes at the expense of a young child trapped in a
basement. This fictional utopic city is a metaphor for utilitarianism at its absolute worse, since
trapping an innocent child in a basement for the flourishing of others seems like a grotesque thing
to do. Also, Guin is portraying utilitarianism as unethical by vividly describing the innocent beings
constant suffering, appealing to the readers empathy. Lastly, Guin implies that those who look for
the best possible outcomes at the expense of the innocent are unjust, and that one has a moral
obligation to walk away from cruelty. Guin further challenges Utilitarianism

A State Of Confusion And Dismay
I awaken in a state of confusion and dismay as to where I am and how I got here. I assign
confusion to being in a pitch black room, or what I assume to be a room, I cannot tell for sure
because it s so dark and empty. As I stumble around and try to find some sort of clue as to where I
am, a blinding light suddenly pierces through the darkness and shines with an unbearable heat
against my pale face. I begin to wonder if I am trapped in here for a reason, maybe I have done
something to deserve this. Maybe it was the time I stole from the local gas station, or maybe it
was something much worse, maybe it was something more evil and of morbid intent. As I lay on
the hard ground trying to push those dark memories deep inside my head, I begin to notice the
light moving and change in brightness almost as if someone was holding it. I get the weird
sensation that I am not alone and am being watched, but this feeling soon passes as I notice the
room get hot and the air becomes thick with humid air like a summer night after a long storm.
The air continues to get thicker; I begin to feel myself choking, and soon realize why I am in this
place and just what it wants. My flight back home landed around nine in the morning, and all
around me I saw families reunited with their loved ones; all around me was love and compassion
which I had not felt in quite some time. I walked through the snaking hallways of the airport
looking for my family who had maybe gotten lost and was waiting at

Ancient Egypt Similarities
Religion had always been an important object in people s lives for decades. Each religion had its
own beliefs, rituals, and gods. In Ancient Egypt, there were multiple gods who control different
places. Their religion also includes magic, mythology, and science. The people in Egypt
believed life on Earth is only part of the eternal journey. They needed to live an earnest life on
Earth and continue their journey in the afterlife. People in Egypt hinge on each other to
complete their task and produce pleasure as it was the will of the gods. The Egyptians worship
every single god and earn good deeds while they were alive, because they wanted to continue
their journey after they die. Each Egyptian god performed on different tasks, because there were
too many tasks for just one god to handle and each god had their own abilities. Nevertheless, it
made Egypt better by performing the tasks efficiently. There were over 2000 different Egyptian
gods, their similarities were the ways they looked like. They all had human body with a head of
an animal or a bird. People in Egypt believed those animals had divine powers, therefore, those
animals were often buried with decorated grave and near human. The gods started from the nine
gods of Ennead. The sun god and eight of his off springs. God of creation Atum was the father of
gods, he was also referred as the father of Pharaohs. He created himself and the first divine couple,

The Kite Runner American Dream Analysis
This passage educates the reader thoroughly about Amir and his affection for his past life childhood
experiences in Afghanistan, thus clearly reflecting the theme American Dream . This is evident as
the reader is clearly able to envision Amir`s attatchment to Afghanistan as he experiences a
reminisence of the past. This indicates Amir definetly had a difficult time in making a decision of
departing from Afghanistanas it would imply as if he erased a part of him. Prior to the
remembrance of the past, Amir has an inner feeling as if he does not truly belong in Afghanistan.

already a holder of the American Dream , even though at that time period he did not live in

forgotten(Hosseini 253). Thus, a tender cool feeling under his bare feet touching the soil of his
land creates a feeling as if he has returned to experience the highlights of his life. Although the
existence of Kabul is unknown, but Amir`s inner thoughts believe that maybe, just maybe Kabul
does exist somewhere in the yonder. Even though Amir had a slight thought that he took part in the

still does not forget the cherished moments they both shared in Kabul. But the recurring thought ot
of the blindfolded man from my dream had died a needless death, (Hosseini 253) had brought him
to make a decision. However, Amir knows his intentions for the choice that had landed him right

The Synonyms Of Perseverance
Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th. This quote means that you are not
always gonna succeed on the first try, but if you really want to succeed, you have to work past
your failures and keep working until you can reach your goal. Perseverance. The dictionary
defines perseverance as ВЁsteady persistence in a course of action, purpose, or state, especially
in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragementВЁ. Synonyms of perseverance are
ВЁsteadfastnessВЁ, ВЁpersistenceВЁ, and ВЁpertinacityВЁ. Antonyms of perseverance are

the difficulties and obstacles to be able to move on and continue with your life. An athlete has to

I.According to the website article, Acute vs. Chronic Stress, there are two different kinds of stress
that we will potentially face in our lifetime
A. Short term (Chronic) 1.Short term stress is the most common type that we face and are the little
everyday things. This is experienced when specific events or situations that involve novelty,
unpredictability, a threat to the ego, and leave us with a poor sense of control. (Acute vs. Chronic
Stress, 1) B. Long term (Acute) 1. This is much more dangerous and serious. Some acute stresses
stem from traumatic, early childhood experiences that become internalized and remain forever

Bureaucrats Vs Political Parties
The Constitution contains a self contradictory structure that monopolist government bureaucrats
and the police have been ignoring for many decades. In fact, it is the very Constitutionally mandated
monopolies that bureaucrats illegitimately have that violate our God given rights. A century of
government central planning has created generations of shortsighted, irresponsible rulers in
America. With rule by emotion and not reason, we have police, legislative and court bureaucrats
who do not seem able to see things form the point of view of an individual being criminally
victimized by agents of the State. This immediately violates the individual s right to establish
voluntary contracts with others. Contracts among individuals are the only business of the parties to
such contracts, and not the business of governmentbureaucrats. My philosophy is that if it s none of

The Intervention Of Biotechnology On Life Takes Two Forms...
The intervention of biotechnology in life takes two forms of therapy and enhancement. Andrew
Lustig, author of the article Enhancement Technologies and the Person: Christian Perspectives,
defines both accordingly, saying that therapy is generally defined as the prevention or cure of
disease, or as the restoration or approximation of return to normal physiological function.
Enhancement is defined as the alteration of individual (or group) characteristics, traits, and abilities
(both health and non health related) beyond a measurable baseline of normal function (41).
Therapy is focused on restoration of our integrity while assisting natural physiology, whereas
enhancement is focused on alteration of our physiology. For example, say a... Show more content on

Deliberating further about the distinction between enhancements and therapy, the theological
ethicist Richard Niebuhr outlines categories that describe how Christians have related to the culture
at various times in history with regards to his book Christ in Culture (Chesire 77). After examining
each of the five categories and contrasting them with Catholic moral theology and Catholic
teaching, I believe the category Christ against enhancement is the most accurate, which Niebuhr
explains in that the radical Christian regards culture as deeply corrupted by original sin. Within this
perspective, biomedical enhancements, being part of culture, work to transmit the destructive
effects of sin and have the potential to magnify human depravity (qtd. in Chesire 77). Therefore,
technology associated with bioenhancements that magnifies the corruption of human morality is
part of that culture. I think the Christ against enhancement is accurate to what the Church would
believe because it is comprehensible with Catholic moral theology. Although, the Church is
accepting of therapy due to its purely medical purpose. In therapy, as Pope Benedict XVI put it in
his pre papacy Instruction on Respect for Human Life, applied biology and medicine work
together for the integral good of human life [and] come to the aid of a person stricken by
illness...respect[ing] his or her dignity as a creature of God (7). This distinction between what is

The United Nations Charter And The Security Council Essay
INTRODUCTION
Throughout history, war has been the cause of countless casualties around the world. The first war
in 1914 through 1918 resulted in the death of millions of soldiers and civilians. As an important
attempt to end the war, The League of Nations was founded in 1919. However, the League of
Nations was unable to grant the proper security to prevent another war from taking place. Therefore,
World War II emerged. Afterwards, the United Nationswas created in an effort to prevent future
wars. Since 1945, the United Nations has been working to prevent wars and to manage international
security. This organization created the prohibition of the use of force unless it is in self defense,
according to Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the Security Council.
However, establishing the League of Nations and United Nations has not ended bloodshed,
violence, nor has it prohibited wars from erupting throughout the world. As a matter of fact,
countless numbers of people have suffered due to multiple civil wars and battles conducted by non
state actors as well as the conflicts of terror groups. Undoubtedly, terrorist groups are on the rise and
have become an international problem. With the proliferation of groups employing terrorist tactics,
it is analytically observed by the international community that they use different techniques to create
violence on governments and civilians. Also, globalization has caused terrorism to develop into a
transnational crime that poses a

However, it can also be diagnosed by performing some other combination of clinical presentations
and some other certain tests in order to find out the exact diagnosis. The first way of diagnosing is
using the characteristic symptoms and signs like joint pain, stiffness and swelling due to synovial
inflammation and effusion and also common symptoms of RA, tenderness, swollen joints, pain,
stiffness, limited motion in joints, loss of appetite, muscle pain and skin nodules (Richa, et al, 2013).
In clinical trials, rheumatoid arthritis is diagnosed formally by using seven American Rheumatism

criteria may be difficult to obtain early in the disease process. During the initial visit, patients
should be asked about degree of pain, duration of stiffness and fatigue, and functional limitations.
A careful joint examination looking for the characteristics described above is vital (Rindfleisch

diagnosing is to take an X ray. This can help the doctor to differentiate RA from

Summary Of Greg Mortenson s Three Cups Of Tea
A Book of Lies Greg Mortenson, co author of Three Cups of Tea, has been under many
controversial assumptions recently. His book contains stories of attempting to climb the Pakistani

Although this novel is supposedly said to be nonfiction, how much of it is actually true?
Mortenson must have been too busy with all of his factual speeches to realize that one day
someone might see right through his dishonesty. Mortenson s corruption is due to his mendacity,
his abuse of money and partnership, and his two faced personality. Half of Three Cups of Tea was

Effective Communication, And Conflict Management
Patient safety is a top priority for all healthcare providers. Yet medical errors are ranked the eighth
leading cause of death. Medication administration errors often result from multiple environmental
and individual factors (Yoder, Schadewald, Dietrich, 2015, p. 140). Nurses are faced with several
interruptions including other health care professionals, patients, and family members.
Environmental factors such as: phone calls, call lights, alarms, malfunctioning equipment, and
emergency situations can distract the nurseand prevent the nurse from administrating medications
successfully. Research has shown that the most interruptions were from conversations with other
personnel or stopping to do another patient care task (Yoder et al., 2015). The purpose of our paper
is to discuss how collaboration, effective communication, and conflict management can improve the
nursing medication administration process by both the intraprofessional and the interprofessional
teams. The intraprofessional team is comprised of nurses that work on the unit and nurses who
work on other units who may try to communicate with the nurse who is administering medications.
The interprofessional team is made up of patient care technicians, the unit secretary, physicians, and
other disciplines such as physical therapy, social work, pharmacy, and case management. The
interprofessional team can also distract or disrupt the nurse trying to administer medications by

Introduction to Economic System
What is system?
System (from Latin systema, in turn from Greek systД“ma) is a set of interacting or interdependent
entities, real or abstract, forming an integrated whole.
A group of interdependent items that interact regularly to perform a task.
Economic System
An economic system is a system that involves the production, distribution and consumption of
goods and services between the entities in a particular society. The economic system is composed
of people and institutions, including their relationships to productive resources, such as through the
convention of property. In a given economy, it is the systemic means by which problems of

A central directorate controls the production of goods and services. The directorate decides the

Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or
collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and
the creation of an egalitarian society.
Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth century working class political movement. Karl
Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution which
represents the transitional stage between capitalism and communism.
Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a
small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate
the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly,
although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this
could be achieved
Some features of socialism are written below 1. Socialism is not a discrete philosophy of fixed
doctrine and program 2. Its branches advocate a degree of social interventionism and economic
rationalization, sometimes opposing each other. 3. Another dividing

The Movie The Dark Knight Essay
The movie The Dark Knight (2008) is the genre of superhero films. Superhero films are movies
that deal with vigilantes saving the city from criminals. Criminals have become more evil, heroes
have become more violent and victims have become more innocent. Movies have become more
graphic and the crimes have become more unjustifiable. Crime is a key component of superhero
hero films and is often used to show injustice towards the state. To control crime society has to try
and deter crime by adding punishment that outweigh the rewards. Some people are biologically
more crime oriented than others and it constitutes natural born criminals. The Jokeris seen as the
main criminal in the movie challenging the notion of justice. Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman,
is seen as the vigilante. The Joker becomes personal with Batman forcing him to come face to
face with everything he believes and uses technology to try and stop him. Hervey Dent is
considered a symbol of hope because he takes the law and uses against criminals. The Criminal
Justice System is then corrupted by the Joker, which leads to the corruption of two face. Harvey
Dent is angry about Batman letting his one true love (Racheal Dawes) die and seeks revenge upon
him with the help of the Joker s corruption and becomes two face. This demonstrates that even the
most innocent people can be corrupted. The Joker challenges the notion of law and justice by
attempting to destroy Gotham City and all the people in it. The law deals

Apple
Apple History Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple on April 1, 1976 in Santa Clara
Valley, California. The two built the Apple I out of a garage and sold it. The first Apple I
computer did not include a monitor, keyboard, or casing. Due to the high demand for the Apple
I, Jobs realized that there was a market for small computers. He also realized that he could
market the company s name and the computer s user friendly look. In 1977 Wozniak added a
keyboard, color monitor, and eight peripheral device slots. Apple sales increased from $7.8
million in 1978 to $117 million by 1980, which was the year that Apple went public. Wozniak left
the Apple in 1983 and Jobs hired PepsiCo s John Sculley as president. In 1984 Apple introduced the

The Middle Ages

British Literature
6 January 2016
The English Middle Ages The middle ages (1066 1485) is known as the Dark ages for
representing cultural and economic deterioration following the decline of the exuberant Roman
Empire. However, a variety of important events that took place in that period, mainly in England,
helped shape society as we know it today. Feudalism was created in the middle ages with the king
at the top of military, political, and economic hierarchy, nobles owning the land, and peasants, or
vassals working on the land. Living conditions were hard in general, but life was especially hard
for peasants. The crusades marked the period with knights sent to Jerusalem to fight against
Muslims, demonstrating the immense power of the Roman Chaotic Church, in all areas of
people s lives. The Black Death, or bubonic plague, was also a relevant event that killed one third
of the population of western Europe. The British middle ages influenced the development of
society through the politics, the religion, and the literature of the era. Politics was a key factor in
the development of England in the middle ages. For example, the impact of the new political
regime when the Normans conquered England. The Normans (1066 1154) and the Angevins (1154
1399) created political institutions that set England apart from the rest of Europe ( England ).
Henry II was the first Angevin king of England and Richard I, the lionhearted, was his son who

National Labor Relations Act
Labor unions protect our rights as a person in the work force. The Labor Union Act was much
needed during the Great Depression because it gave people a voice when they were afraid to
speak their thoughts; in fear of being fired, they kept quiet. Once the act was legal, the
employers began to become furious because they had to make sure that their employees were
treated well, this costed them more money. Many employers were against this act because they
were expected to make sure that the work environment was up to par, and the reasons for firing
someone has to be justified with evidence. The National Labor Relations Act was successful
because it helped decrease labor strikes and raised wages; however, it failed to establish a
permanent culture of labor relations in today s society. The National Labor Relations Act was
put into place in order to protect the employment and the rights of a worker. Before the act was
put into effect, there was a large strike that caused an abundance of workers to lose their jobs, this
was shown During 1934, there was a strike so large that it eliminated 400,000 textile workers. This
strike was known as the Textile Workers Strike (Textile

ABSTRACT
Ten shales samples obtained in X Formation, Afikpo Basin and were subjected to geochemical
analysis to determine the TOC , SOM and Rock eval pyrolysis. The TOC values varied from 0.6
7.36 % 1.60w% 1.80w% with an average of 1.66w%, while the SOM values ranged from 100 380
% . Tmax range from 442 462 . The above results show that the TOC values fall above the
minimum threshold for hydrocarbon generation potential. The minimum threshold value for TOC
is 0.5%. The average SOM value is also indicative of good source rock potential for the studied
samples. The Tmax values in the study area shows that the sediments are immature and have not
reached the oil generation phase, but are within the gas phase. The organic matter quantity is
adequate for sediments to yield hydrocarbon whereas the organic matter quality is inadequate to
expel hydrocarbon.
(I)INTRODUCTION
Most people now believe that oil and gas are formed when the remains of dead animals and plants
are mixed with sediments, buried and formed into rocks and then heated deep underground. The
oil and gas then seep out through porous rocks where they may or may not collect in an oil or gas
field.

The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation provides an opportunity unlike most others of its kind. An
opportunity that I will use to reach my goal of changing the world in as great a capacity as I can.
Additionally, The Foundation is renowned for its mentorship programme which I will embrace
completely. The Foundation provides the stimulation and means to accelerate individuals into
positions of extraordinary scope and standing. I hope to stand amongst those great people. I
believe I have the talent, passion and compassion to do great things but need guidance and
support to enable me to achieve my goals. I hope to take this opportunity and change South
Africa and the world by embracing the opportunities it creates. Not only does this opportunity
give many means to create change but also to be an Allan Gray Fellow additionally adds gravitas
to ones position and opens up opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. 6 My
entrepreneurial spirit is created in part by how I perceive the world. When I see problems with our
world, they are not insurmountable mountains but rather opportunities. They are opportunities for
me personally to gain and for all those that I would help by fixing that problem. This can be
anything from the mundane to the most serious issue of our time. An example of this is the
amount of vegetable waste people produce in their homes and their hesitancy to compost this
waste. I perceived this problem and tried to come up with a solution. There were some people

Queen Elizabeth In The Renaissance Era
Throughout the Renaissance Era there have been stories of kings, knights and heroic heroes, but
hardly ever does one hear about a Queen making history. Queen Elizabeth I, was a queen who one
does not really talk about or know any stories of her, but there is so much to know about her.
Queen Elizabeth s life growing up, accomplishments as queen, and her later years are something
everyone should know about its history. Queen Elizabeth s life growing up had some difficult
circumstances, but this had no effect over her ruling. She was able to maintain peace in a country,
which was divided previously.
Queen Elizabeth was born on September 7, 1533 ( Queen Elizabeth I 1). King Henry VIII was her
father and Anne Boleyn was her mother, wich was her father s second wife (3). At the age of only
two years old, her mother was killed by her father over accusations of committing adultery and
conspiracy (3). King Henry VIII died in 1547, Elizabeth was taken into care by her stepmother
Catherine Parr (3). Tension between Elizabeth and her stepfather, Thomas Seymour started to
occur, Elizabeth returned to Hatfield, the royal estate, away from the court (3). The relationship
between the two never subsided and Elizabeth had him executed for conspiring to marry her to
gain power (3). Elizabeth had an older half sister, Mary Tudor and a half brother Edward Tudor
(3). Edward was King Henry s only son with his third wife, Jane Seymour, Edward was set upon
the throne, after his father s death,

Michael Vick As A Professional Football Player
Most people know of Michael Vick as a professional football player. But in 2007, he created
national attention for something other than his athletic ability. He was accused and convicted of
running a professional dog fighting ring, and he d torture the dogs that proved themselves weak
and bad fighters. It was bad enough he was committing these crimes, but to be representing the
country as a highly paid athletem, led national controversy, and with that, discussions of the ethical
issues surrounding the matter. People (fans) think he got off lucky, givin his predicament of being
wealthy and one of the greatest football players of all time. People believe that Michael Vickshould
ve received a worse punishment for his operation, which included the killing of dogs who
proved themselves weak. It s very possible that Michael Vick got off because he s rich, famous,
and most likely well liked, despite his personal history. Most people feel compelled to believe that
if he was an ordinary citizen, his short prisonsentence would ve been a lengthier one. Michael
Vick lost a lot of fans from his horrendous acts and people didn t want to see him in a place other
than jail for his heinous crimes. In August 2007, Vick pleaded to federal felonycharges and served
21 months in prison, followed by two months in home confinement. Vick filed for Chapter 11
bankruptcy after being hurt financially by the loss of his NFL salary, product endorsement deals,
and financial mismanagement.

Farnesyl transferase (FTPase) inhibitors Manumycin is a specific FTPase inhibitors who had
antineoplastic activity inhibiting RAS signal transduction pathway and inducing apoptosis, but due
to its significant toxicity, it had not reached the clinical sitting with limited benefit as a single agent.
The combination of sorafenib and tipifarnib were evaluated in phase I trial in MTC [44]. m TOR
inhibitors Preclinical data suggest that m TOR inhibitors may have efficacy in inhibiting TC cell
growth, survival and dissemination as the AKT/m TOR/p56 pathway activation is stronger in
lymphatic and distant metastatic lesions than in 1 year TC cell lines. However, the clinical activity
in this patient population needs further investigations [45]. Gene and immune therapy Three types
of gene therapy have been investigated in TCs, corrective gene therapy, cytoreductive gene therapy
and immunomodulatory gene therapy. The studies revealed that gene therapy can give the way for
the development of a highly promising cytoreductive gene therapy strategy. In addition,
immunotherapy with dendritic cells has been evaluated in vitro for MTC but still not fully
evaluated in humans [46, 47]. We summarized the most important clinical trials in locally advanced

New Forms Of Extreme Vulnerability
Globalization processes have created new forms of extreme vulnerability that disproportionately
impact the welfare of poor women of color living in border cities. As borders have become
increasingly permeable and capitalism has transcended national borders, outsourcing labor has
become a common practice within transnational corporatism. To meet the demands of the global
North, gendered forms of labor have emerged in the global South that have resulted in the
exploitation and abuse of poor women of color. The rising levels of violencethat poor, border
women are subjected is one of the multi faceted effects of globalization within border cities. The
presence of an informal economy, existing forms of patriarchal structure, racial hierarchies, and the
militarization of borders all lead to conditions that make female migrant workers across U.S. and
Mexican borderlands denationalized citizens. Because of the state s role in using militarization and
policing as forms of social control, migrant women cannot exercise their citizenship and claim
control over their own bodies. Although globalization is viewed as a phenomenon that improves the
living conditions for all, I argue that it presents complex challenges to women s claim over their
own bodies and contributes to their overall state of rightlessness within borderlands.
The presence of an informal economy alongside the formal economy within border cities
neutralizes sex service and gendered labor. Sexual violence towards women

Michel Foucault s Theory Of Discipline And Punishment
Michel Foucault states in Discipline and Punishment that the Panopticon is a marvelous machine
which, whatever use one may wish to put it to, produces homogeneous effects of power (Foucault
188). Examining the evolution, physical characteristics, and psychological effects of the
Panopticon allows one to understand the mechanism by which the Panopticonproduces power. Most
inventions develop through an evolutionary process while attempting to improve a situation or
solve a problem. Often, a prototype precedes a new structure or mechanism. Foucault uses the term
projects to describe two historical events and the social responses to resolve the problems associated
with these events. He suggests that the Panopticon developed from these two projects, the
quarantine of the plague and colonizing the lepers. Foucault describes how the Panopticon
developed from a seventeenth century order issued to deal with the scourge of the plague. First, a
strict spatial partitioning: the closing of the town and its outlying districts was mandated (Foucault
181). The town was further divided into quarters, streets, and households. A syndic who was in the
charge of an intendant supervised each family in their residence. A considerable body of militia and
guards at the gate ensured that the magistrate over the town had absolute authority (Foucault 181).
Only the syndics, intendants, and guards moved about the streets (Foucault 181). They monitored
and reported the

Human growth and development is studied and researched with differing perspectives. There are many ways human growth and development can be looked at. Certain disciplines, such as, biology, psychology and sociology all have opposing viewpoints on the subject. The psychological viewpoint concentrates on the different processes of the mind, whereas, the biological approach is centred on genetics and environmental factors. For example, according to Hart, Blincow and Thomas, resilient therapy may help a child in gaining good relationships with family and friends by tapping into good influences and finding place for that child to belong. Resilient therapy recognises the importance of attachment theory and aims for the affected child to feel a sense of family cohesion. According to Hart, Blincow and Thomas,in providing a resilient mechanism, two things are achieved. Firstly, a sense of belonging, as this is protective and gives children a secure base to attend; psychologically, when feeling under threat. Secondly, with children experiencing a self of belonging somewhere, they are better equipped in facing rejection elsewhere. Further to the attachment theory, Bowlby derived the term maternal deprivation, (Bowlby, 1959). Bowlby identified the first two years of a child s life as the most critical time for bonding. Bowlby hypothesised that if there was a lack of parent and caregiver bonding by the age of 2 then maternal deprivations may result in the child suffering psychological damages that may be irreversible. According to Bowlby, children who suffered maternal deprivation at a young age may often become incapable of expressing empathetic emotions and affection later into their adult life. • 10. Social Aspect Of Reconstruction Essay Finally, the social aspect of Reconstruction created problems such as violence and unbalance between African American and southern Confederates. Black rights and freedoms upset many white southerners who had ordered slaves around for years and caused retaliation from former Confederates. Violent hate groups began to form such as the Knights of the White Camelia, or the more well known Ku Klux Klan(Jackson n.p). These organizations sought to maintain white supremacy by suppressing blacks and government officials in favor of black rights. Methods of lynching, hanging, attacks on public jailing systems, and other forms of violence spread through the South (History.com n.p). Perhaps some consider land redistribution an effective solution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ideally, a solution to the problems of Reconstruction would eradicate all forms of brutality, but land redistribution would only further agitate the South. My proposal, though radical, would give white southerners what they truly wanted all along: more say in the government. Under Lincoln s leadership, the South felt its voice in government slowly dwindling away. What if the North could give southerners more sway over northern politics? My plan would impose a law against the individual profit of northern carpetbaggers in the South. It would also allow the South to build a sort of embassy in the North as its own form of representation in government, under one condition. In return, southerners must allow for the aforementioned government run labor camps to function peacefully in the South. Additionally, each state must accept the five year supervision of a small group of law enforcement officers trained to maintain racially violent situations. Considering the circumstances, both the former Confederates and African Americans have a fairly decent deal under my plan. All white southerners become pardoned, states rejoin the union, no one hangs for treason, carpetbagging becomes illegal, labor camps repair damaged areas in the South, and southerners reestablish their ... Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems Data Indexing Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL (Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object in CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via ltree structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way. This structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes. Security One of the distinctive property of the object ... In onmessage handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web worker, then each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage, again, by means of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the retrieval of the data segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master web worker (4). Index of the data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache created by the master web worker. Because the data is passed to the master web worker using pointers, there is no data copy overhead. Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval operations, the master web worker writes out the cache to the hard disk (5). • 13. Pineapple Express Character Analysis Similarities with fictional characters Have you ever thought of which fictional characters you relate too? I am a person who is funny, intelligent and lazy. I chose 3 fictional character that I relate to the most. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Saul Silver from Pineapple Express for his funny personality, Chris Gardner from the Pursuit of Happiness for being intelligent and his willingness to strive for success, and Patrick from Spongebob Squarepantsfor his laziness, always being late to things he had to do. Saul Silver from the movie Pineapple Express has a silly personality, which I believe is a characteristic that I posses as well. A scene from the movie which Saul shows that charactertrait is when his friend Dale Denton gets arrested for selling marijuana to kids and Saul had gone off to buy burritos for them to eat. Next he came back and had seen what happened, as the cop was driving away with his friend in the back seat he decided to get hit by the cop car so the officer could get out of the vehicle. Then after that occurred Saul crawled around the car and hopped in the front seat and drove away with his friend. When Saul was struck by the car he spilled a red smoothie all over the front windshield. On that occasion he put his foot through the windshield to create an opening so he can see, despite that wasn t the case his foot ended up getting stuck. • 16. Picasso Female Complex Pablo Picasso: The Female Complex Many artists develop their works from their most compelling moments in life, whether they are filled with excruciating pain or unspeakable joy. Pablo Picasso creates work based on a multitude of influences in his life, from the suicide of his best friend to the rising of his career (Bio). However, a single theme reoccurs throughout his life that most would argue causes him to create some of the greatest paintings of his time: women. Critics shaped the different phases of his art into periods such as the Blue Period, Rose Period, CubismPeriod, Surrealist Period, and Self Portrait Period (Bio). His art was manipulated based on the dominant state of mind he was in during these stages of life, and many of the emotions had to do with the women he was involved with at the time. Though one might think that an artist who places such a passionate focus on women must deeply admire and respect them, Picasso does not fit into this standard. He actually felt a very strong sense of superiority to females, painting them as objects: cold, faceless, and purely created for sexual satisfaction (Withers 1). However, evidence strongly suggests that he probably feared them more than anything else. Every single one of his periods of art are heavily ruled by paintings of women, particularly nude, that tell a story about an experience he had; if he was so affected by women that he spent countless hours painting about it, there had to have been more going on ... • 17. A Summary Of Operant Conditioning ABA ABA is built on B.F. Skinner s theory of operant conditioning: the idea that behavior can be taught by controlling the consequences to actions. The primary way that the teaching is performed is through the use of reinforcements and the methods of Imitation, shaping, and chaining to acquire new behavior and either increase or decrease the likelihood of a certain behaviors. Modeling and imitation are two learning methods that goes together, you can not have one without the other. These methods refers to mimicking through observation and later enacting the observed behavior or actions of others. Modeling can be defined as an antecedent stimulus that evokes the imitative behavior. The model must serve as a controlling variable for the imitative behavior (Cooper et al. 2007, p.421). • 18. Huck Finn Education Analysis In the 1840s the United States of America was divided by two things, slavery and the Mississippi. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Huck and Jim travel on a raft on the Mississippi River, hoping to reach Cairo, where Jim would be a free man. While on the river, the motif of education arises as Huck is forced to learn how to trick and deceive in order to keep Jim safe. Huck uses the river as a safe place where he is floating away from the troubles that lie on the shore. The river bridges the gaps between the levels of society as Huck travels from community to community experiencing each individual class. The Mississippi provides Huck with an education, a home, and a bridge but also forces him into becoming an entirely new person who we, a century and a half later, look up to. The motif of education is prevalent especially because Huck never received one. Lauriat Jane Jr. best describes this concept in his article Why Huckleberry Finn Is a Great World Novel , he says The novel is a novel of education. Its school is the school of life rather than of books, but Huck s education is all the more complete for that reason (Lane 2). Instead of a formal education, he learns from his experiences especially when it comes to deception. Huck learns that being quick with words is one of the most crucial skills that he will need for his journey. It s a reasonable question Hoosiers might ask after my office filed a friend of the court brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in a case that could decide whether the widespread practice of prayer at the start of legislative meetings is constitutional. In analyzing the long history and tradition of opening meetings with prayer, our brief contends that prayers initiated by citizens themselves including prayers that invoke God, Jesus, Allah and other deities do not violate the First Amendment prohibition on government establishing religion. Our brief argues government assemblies are not proselytizing if they allow citizen expression of such prayers at the start of meetings. It was considered to be the longest war in American history as well. Many questioned the motives and causes of the war calling it an atrocity. Others say that it may have been a terrible effort to defend a noble cause, the spread of communism. The years precluding the Vietnam war, there was a war taking place in Vietnam. It was known as the Indochina War, where the Vietnamese waged war against the colonial rule of France. The French were defeated in the battle of Dien Bien Phu. Following this defeat, there was a peace conference in Geneva, which resulted in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam to receive their independence. The Geneva Accords officially divided Vietnam into North Vietnam and South Vietnam . Ho Chi Minh and his communist forces led the North. A French backed emperor led the south until elections in 1956. These elections were supposed to reunify Vietnam. United State s Cold War policy was beginning to come into play by this time. Internal conflicts, non specific fears, fears of inadequacy, and guilt feelings are examples of stressors that do not depend on the environment. Internal sources of stress can arise from an individual s perceptions of an environmental threat, even if no such danger actually exists. Environmental stressors are external conditions beyond an individual s control. Bhagat (1983) has reported that work performance can be seriously impaired by external stressors. These include issues of structure, management s use of authority, monotony, a lack of opportunity for advancement, excessive responsibilities, ambiguous demands, value conflicts, and unrealistic workloads. A person s non working life (e.g., family, friends, health, and financial situations) can also contain stressors that negatively impact job performance. This can be summarized as follows. i. Andrew Lustig, author of the article Enhancement Technologies and the Person: Christian Perspectives, defines both accordingly, saying that therapy is generally defined as the prevention or cure of disease, or as the restoration or approximation of return to normal physiological function. Enhancement is defined as the alteration of individual (or group) characteristics, traits, and abilities (both health and non health related) beyond a measurable baseline of normal function (41). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Deliberating further about the distinction between enhancements and therapy, the theological ethicist Richard Niebuhr outlines categories that describe how Christians have related to the culture at various times in history with regards to his book Christ in Culture (Chesire 77). After examining each of the five categories and contrasting them with Catholic moral theology and Catholic teaching, I believe the category Christ against enhancement is the most accurate, which Niebuhr explains in that the radical Christian regards culture as deeply corrupted by original sin. Within this perspective, biomedical enhancements, being part of culture, work to transmit the destructive effects of sin and have the potential to magnify human depravity (qtd. in Chesire 77). Therefore, technology associated with bioenhancements that magnifies the corruption of human morality is part of that culture. I think the Christ against enhancement is accurate to what the Church would believe because it is comprehensible with Catholic moral theology. Although, the Church is accepting of therapy due to its purely medical purpose. Medication administration errors often result from multiple environmental and individual factors (Yoder, Schadewald, Dietrich, 2015, p. 140). Nurses are faced with several interruptions including other health care professionals, patients, and family members. Environmental factors such as: phone calls, call lights, alarms, malfunctioning equipment, and emergency situations can distract the nurseand prevent the nurse from administrating medications successfully. Research has shown that the most interruptions were from conversations with other personnel or stopping to do another patient care task (Yoder et al., 2015). The purpose of our paper is to discuss how collaboration, effective communication, and conflict management can improve the nursing medication administration process by both the intraprofessional and the interprofessional teams. The intraprofessional team is comprised of nurses that work on the unit and nurses who work on other units who may try to communicate with the nurse who is administering medications. The interprofessional team is made up of patient care technicians, the unit secretary, physicians, and other disciplines such as physical therapy, social work, pharmacy, and case management. The interprofessional team can also distract or disrupt the nurse trying to administer medications by asking about another patient being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. The Movie The Dark Knight Essay The movie The Dark Knight (2008) is the genre of superhero films. Superhero films are movies that deal with vigilantes saving the city from criminals. Criminals have become more evil, heroes have become more violent and victims have become more innocent. Movies have become more graphic and the crimes have become more unjustifiable. Crime is a key component of superhero hero films and is often used to show injustice towards the state. To control crime society has to try and deter crime by adding punishment that outweigh the rewards. Some people are biologically more crime oriented than others and it constitutes natural born criminals. The Jokeris seen as the main criminal in the movie challenging the notion of justice. Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, is seen as the vigilante. The Joker becomes personal with Batman forcing him to come face to face with everything he believes and uses technology to try and stop him. Hervey Dent is considered a symbol of hope because he takes the law and uses against criminals. The Criminal Justice System is then corrupted by the Joker, which leads to the corruption of two face. Harvey Dent is angry about Batman letting his one true love (Racheal Dawes) die and seeks revenge upon him with the help of the Joker s corruption and becomes two face. • 46. The Middle Ages Luiz Gustavo Machado Mrs. Phillips British Literature 6 January 2016 The English Middle Ages The middle ages (1066 1485) is known as the Dark ages for representing cultural and economic deterioration following the decline of the exuberant Roman Empire. However, a variety of important events that took place in that period, mainly in England, helped shape society as we know it today. Feudalism was created in the middle ages with the king at the top of military, political, and economic hierarchy, nobles owning the land, and peasants, or vassals working on the land. Living conditions were hard in general, but life was especially hard for peasants. The crusades marked the period with knights sent to Jerusalem to fight against Muslims, demonstrating the immense power of the Roman Chaotic Church, in all areas of people s lives. The Black Death, or bubonic plague, was also a relevant event that killed one third of the population of western Europe. The British middle ages influenced the development of society through the politics, the religion, and the literature of the era. Politics was a key factor in the development of England in the middle ages. For example, the impact of the new political regime when the Normans conquered England. The Normans (1066 1154) and the Angevins (1154 1399) created political institutions that set England apart from the rest of Europe ( England ). The Labor Union Act was much needed during the Great Depression because it gave people a voice when they were afraid to speak their thoughts; in fear of being fired, they kept quiet. Once the act was legal, the employers began to become furious because they had to make sure that their employees were treated well, this costed them more money. Many employers were against this act because they were expected to make sure that the work environment was up to par, and the reasons for firing someone has to be justified with evidence. The National Labor Relations Act was successful because it helped decrease labor strikes and raised wages; however, it failed to establish a permanent culture of labor relations in today s society. The National Labor Relations Act was put into place in order to protect the employment and the rights of a worker. Before the act was put into effect, there was a large strike that caused an abundance of workers to lose their jobs, this was shown During 1934, there was a strike so large that it eliminated 400,000 textile workers. The average SOM value is also indicative of good source rock potential for the studied samples. The Tmax values in the study area shows that the sediments are immature and have not reached the oil generation phase, but are within the gas phase. New Forms Of Extreme Vulnerability Globalization processes have created new forms of extreme vulnerability that disproportionately impact the welfare of poor women of color living in border cities. As borders have become increasingly permeable and capitalism has transcended national borders, outsourcing labor has become a common practice within transnational corporatism. To meet the demands of the global North, gendered forms of labor have emerged in the global South that have resulted in the exploitation and abuse of poor women of color. The rising levels of violencethat poor, border women are subjected is one of the multi faceted effects of globalization within border cities. The presence of an informal economy, existing forms of patriarchal structure, racial hierarchies, and the militarization of borders all lead to conditions that make female migrant workers across U.S. and Mexican borderlands denationalized citizens. Because of the state s role in using militarization and policing as forms of social control, migrant women cannot exercise their citizenship and claim control over their own bodies. Although globalization is viewed as a phenomenon that improves the living conditions for all, I argue that it presents complex challenges to women s claim over their own bodies and contributes to their overall state of rightlessness within borderlands. Michel Foucault s Theory Of Discipline And Punishment Michel Foucault states in Discipline and Punishment that the Panopticon is a marvelous machine which, whatever use one may wish to put it to, produces homogeneous effects of power (Foucault 188). Examining the evolution, physical characteristics, and psychological effects of the Panopticon allows one to understand the mechanism by which the Panopticonproduces power. Most inventions develop through an evolutionary process while attempting to improve a situation or solve a problem. Often, a prototype precedes a new structure or mechanism. Foucault uses the term projects to describe two historical events and the social responses to resolve the problems associated with these events. He suggests that the Panopticon developed from these two projects, the quarantine of the plague and colonizing the lepers. Foucault describes how the Panopticon developed from a seventeenth century order issued to deal with the scourge of the plague. First, a strict spatial partitioning: the closing of the town and its outlying districts was mandated (Foucault 181). The town was further divided into quarters, streets, and households. A syndic who was in the charge of an intendant supervised each family in their residence. A considerable body of militia and guards at the gate ensured that the magistrate over the town had absolute authority (Foucault 181).
