Medieval Peasant Under The Feudal System
Medieval Peasants Eleanor After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Feudal system was
developed. Between the 9th and 15th Century, the Feudal system provided the model of the
medieval class system. It defined the people who had wealth and comfort such as royal families,
and those without wealth and comfort, the peasants. William I, better known as William the
Conqueror , defeated Harold at the Battle of Hastings and became King. He introduced the
Feudal system. The people didn t trust William I so he divided England into big plots of land
and gave it to Noblemen who had fought bravely for him. These Noblemen swore loyalty and
collected taxes from peasants on their land. The peasants worked hard to pay these taxes and
produce enough food to survive. The Feudal System was an unfair way to organise society because
peasants were trapped in their position in the Feudal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They lived in conditions that barely let them survive. Peasants lived in small thatch roofed one
roomed houses. The floor was nothing more than dirt and they slept on bags of itchy hay. They
lived in villages of up to 100 people, many people living in one house. They were forced to pay
taxes and could only keep the food they had left over. If they didn t do this there were horrible
consequences. Because they couldn t afford medicine peasants would often die of diseases, a big
one being the plague which took the lives of thousands of peasants. Peasants ate only what was
necessary for them to survive. Compared to knights who were given fish and meat with fresh
vegetable and fruits often flavoured with the top spices, peasants ate very plain and tasteless meals.
They ate things like Corn, bread and meat that had been preserved in salt. Peasants sometimes
wouldn t have enough food to feed themselves, because of this many peasants starved. Like their
living conditions, a peasant was trapped in harsh working

This manga contains several life lessons which can be adapted to different groups of readers. For
example, one significant lesson is never give up on one s goal. Readers can learn it through the
protagonist of this story, Monkey D. Luffy, who is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and dreams
to be the Pirate King. In the Marineford Arc, Portgas D. Ace who is his brother has been arrested,
and Luffy wants to save his brother s life. He, as a result, bravely decides to enter the war at
Marineford to help his brother. During the war, Luffy has to fight with greatly dangerous enemies
including vice admirals, admirals and fleet admiral. Still, he never gives up on helping his brother.
These life lessons enable One Piece to expand the group of audience. Most adults may have a bias
against manga and cartoons, thinking that reading and watching them are truly nonsense. One
Piece, nonetheless, is far from a nonsense story, for it contains not only entertaining features but
also important life lessons. Some adults will find this cartoon interesting and different from other

Heaviness Of The Brick
Suddenly the brick occurs to mind when the story starts by talking about lightness. A brick itself is
light enough to be handled by hand, but a brick house is hefty. The brick is made from dried mud;
that makes clearer the meaning of lightness of brick. However, the land that holds the mud means a
full deadweight. Heaviness from lightness and lightness from heaviness, there are various possible
ways to look into the relationship between heaviness and lightness through the brick; that s why we
should talk about heaviness while keeping lightness in mind and vice versa.
For example, the story of the three little pigs mirrors the heaviness of the brick. Their houses
made of straw and sticks are blown away by the simple breath, revealing conversely the
heaviness and solidity of the brick as a construction material. It is also an ample proof that
numerous ancient buildings preserved today are mostly made of bricks or stones. The basilica
where Leonardo da Vinci painted The Last Supper in 1494 was built of red bricks. Aula Palatina,
as known as the Basilica of Constantine, was built with fired bricks around ... Show more content on

It is also the result of the belief of the architect that the building should not oppose the environment.
By constructing the same material in a more environmentally efficient way, the building is light in

stubbornly prudent aesthetics of lightness: Leaves of Iron , Touch this Earth Lightly , Feathers of

Jean-Louis David and Jean-Jacques Rousseau Essay
Jean Louis David + Jean Jacques Rousseau
Question : In what ways and to what extent is an understanding of historical context important in
approaching the works of (a) David and (b) Rousseau?
The Lictors Returning to Brutus the Bodies of his Sons , is a painting by the French artist Jean Louis
David in 1789. Having led the fight which overthrew the monarchy and established the Roman
Republic. Brutus tragically saw his sons participate in a plot to restore the monarchy. As a judge, he
was called upon to render the verdict, and without hesitation condemned his two sons to death.

This was not an uncommon reaction towards David s art at the time. However, the painting was
restored to a place of honor by Baudelaire, who wrote :
This painting is David s masterpiece and one of the great curiosities of modern art because, by a
strange feat, it has nothing trivial or vile. What is most surprising in this very unusual visual poem
is that it was painted very quickly. When one thinks of the beauty of the lines, this quickness is
bewildering. This is food for the strong, the triumph of spiritualism.
David s artwork did not just involve the use of pretty colours. Many of his paintings beared
powerfull meanings, historically and politically. Culturally they had a huge impact on social
activity during the French Revolution. The story of Brutus was popular with educated sections of
the French public during the eighteenth century. Voltaire s play Brutus , was performed on stage
from 1730. In November 1790, the first two performances of a revival of Brutus at the National
Theater in Paris took place. At the second performance of the revival, a stage tableau of David s
painting was acted out at the moment when the death of Brutus son was announced.
Like his later Death of Marat , David s Brutus can be seen as a representation of a kind of
political heroism in which the best interests of society are put before those of the individual. His
painting also appeared at a time when a general dissatisfaction

Branding is one of the most dominant trends in global food and beverage industry which
responsible for the market share of the companies. In this era of globalisation, major food and
beverage companies operate globally and increased competition between the brands (Richter, 2004).

beverage industry will continue to be an important industry for the UK, not only in financial terms
but also for its strategic and social importance. This industry remains highly stable while entire
country was in recession. The index of production for all manufacturing (indexed to 2005) is
currently at 90 basis points, whereas food and drink is at 99 basis points, a 1% change from 2005
levels of production.

BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM One of the main issues that we have right now is getting
the right vitamins and nutrients to our body. How we will do this is by choosing the food that
we eat. Aside from that, we have to take consideration its cost. Can Filipino, in all walks of life,
afford a healthy meal? More Filipinos have been eating rice just to withstand empty stomach
rather than eating a balanced meal with the right amount of calories and protein. Survey also says
that eating protein and vegetables have gone down the sink since, most of the families can t afford

Authoritarian Technologies In The Whale And The Reactor
Although Ursula Franklin and Langdon Winner both classify technology in different ways, they
bring up many similar points regarding the intersection of power and technology in our everyday
life. Franklin s theory of technology as practice categorizes technology as either prescriptive or
holistic in The Real World of Technology
, which correlates well with Winner s idea of technology
being created with either authoritarian or democratic motives in The Whale and the Reactor. After
reading both arguments, a clear correlation can be made between holistic/democratic technologies
and prescriptive/authoritarian technologies as a way to describe power in our society.
Franklin uses the term technology to define ways of doing something. To her, holistic... Show more

Franklin s idea of a prescriptive technology is any process that has been broken down into steps,
where workers specialize in only one step. These technologies require discipline and planning,
and are designed for compliance (Franklin, 1999). She uses Chinese bronze making to show how
each step involves different people, because if they weren t completed properly, the process
couldn t continue. Similarly, Winner s view on authoritarian technology in that objects can
either be designed to assist those with a hidden agenda to establish patterns of power and
authority (Winner, 1986) or that new technologies or some of their qualities can be strongly or
specifically linked to parties who are trying to create a need for authority or power. Both of these
arguments highlight that these technologies now dominate society, and are no longer restricted to
mainly material production. They can be found in administrative and economic activities as well
as many aspects governance. Technology can now control where we can and cannot go,
removing the need to make decisions. He used the construction of overpasses in New York as an
example of this. To control who was able to get into the city, overpasses were built low so only
cars (owned by white people in the middle and upper class) could get in and those who took public
transit (poor people and racial minorities) could not, limiting the amount of low income citizens.
This also shows that new technologies can be created for one purpose (transportation) to disguise
hidden motives (controlling the demographic of a population). Franklin also acknowledges this,
explaining that although prescriptive technologies have brought us many important products, raised
living standards and increased well being, they have also created a culture of compliance (Franklin,
1999). Winner and Franklin both show a concern for these types of technologies,

Vietnam War Point Of View
Despite popular belief, Vietnam has been the battleground for only a limited number of military
conflicts in history. The country fell under the rule of China and France at early points in its
history before claiming its full independence in 1945. Many Americans still view Vietnam from the
Vietnam War point of view because it ended in a United States defeat. Since that war almost 40
years ago, Vietnams leadership has had a plan in place to rebuild the country s infrastructure and
solidify its place in the world. Today, Vietnam continues to thrive economically by taking
advantage of its natural resources and location despite being the home to one of the last single
party Socialist governments in the world. Vietnam is a long winding section of land on the
eastern side of the Indochinese peninsula. Including its island area, it has just over 128,000 miles
of land, or slightly more space than the state of New Mexico. Vietnam has three borders countries:
China (to the north), Laos (to the central west) and Cambodia (to the southwest). On a map, the
country looks like an elongated S just over 1,000 miles in length and only 31 miles in width at its
maximum. Three main bodies of water also border Vietnam. The water boundaries are the Gulf of
Thailand to the southwest, the South China Sea to the southeast, and the Gulf of Tonkin to the
northeast. The country claims the first 12 nautical miles off its shoreline as territorial property and

To ease the process of verification, many new concepts involving assertion based techniques and
functional verification methodologies have been growing over the past few years. New
standards that now involve the Property Specification Language (PSL) and the Open Verification
Library (OVL) have come into effect.[#abv_ovl_psl] Though there are many languages currently
used for verification, a unique aspect of system Verilog is its support for object oriented
programming. This feature makes it usable in a complex environment for testing higher order
systems. Being a language that supports object oriented programming (OOP), the concept of
inheritance can be used that increases the code re usability and provides better control over the
objects used in the environment. Even though the language supports inheritance, there is a lack
of support for multiple inheritances and [#inheritance_solution] provides a novel way to
overcome this problem. This paper discusses in detail about the verification approach used to test
a DTMF receiver core module starting with a general discussion of the system Verilog language
along with a brief description of a DTMF receiver and it s signaling. In the next section, the paper
provides a brief overview of the typical verification environment observed in a test bench along
with an explanation of how the various verification blocks have been implemented in our project.

Examples Of Archetypes In The Lamb By William Blake
True Meaning
(A discussion on Blake s Archetypes)
An archetype is defined as a recurrent symbol in literature, art, and mythology. Usually an
archetype is a character in a story that represents such universal patterns of human nature.
William Blake is a poet and an artist during the 1800 s who used archetypes in many of his writing
s he wrote. Blake published two books of poems, one being called Songs of Innocence, and Songs
of experience, these two books of poems are his most known writings. William Blake uses
archetypes in his four poems The Lamb , The Tyger, The Chimney Sweeper , and Infant Sorrow .
In The Lamb , the lamb is the archetype that symbolizes as cute and sweet. In the poem Blake s
describes the lamb as softest clothing of delight . He explains the lambs wool as soft and
elegant. Blake talks about the lambs sound explaining Gave thee such a tender voice, making all
the vales rejoice. Blake explains that the lambs noise can make the most depressed valley s happy
with joy. The lamb is symbolized as sweet an innocent. Blake decided that the lamb is one of God s
great creations.
In The Tyger Blake uses the tyger as an archetype of power. Tigers in the real world today are the
biggest killing/hunting machines, and they never let anything get in their way. Tigers want all
the power. Blake explains What immortal hand or eye, could frame thy fearful symmetry? . He
uses the word fearful in that sentence to describe the tigers face. He also used the word could in
the quote above, but also restates the statement using dare instead of could. Blake is trying to
get at how could someone make something so destructive and demanding. Blake uses fire to
describe the tiger several times. For example, In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fire of
thine eyes. Blake s uses fire to describe the tiger because they share similar qualities, such as
being deadly and harmful to many living things. William Blake did a excellent job at explaining
how a tiger is a good archetype for power.
In The Chimney Sweeper uses archetypes to represent faith. Blake is able to use these chimney
sweepers as a good archetype for faith because they often go through very hard lives. When my

Question 1: How Can Knowledge and Creativity to be used to provide competitive advantage in a
competitive marketplace and how might this advantage be protected and preserved at present?
Introduction
In today s global business, sustaining a competitive position is a supreme concern. Competition
within the small and medium business industry is intense with many competitors. The ability of a
firm to survive depends on how the firm takes advantage of the opportunities in the market place to
satisfy its customers. Many companies have demonstrated their capabilities of being been sensitive

Increasing globalization has resulted in more business opportunities but the marketplace has also
become more crowded and competition has increased (McMullan and Shepherd 2006). Creativity
enables the entrepreneur to act on these opportunities in ways which can result in competitive
advantage for the organization. It can provide the basis for innovation and business growth, as well
as impacting positively on society generally (Bilton 2007, quoted in Fillis 2006).
As average business longevity is short, innovation becomes one of the sustainable sources of
competitive advantage. Tidd et al (2005) define that there are four types of innovation:
1) Product innovation a new products or developments on products, e.g. smart phone.
2) Process innovation assembly line process, e.g. just in time production.
3) Positioning innovation adjustment in context launched, e.g. Lucozade repositioned as a sports

4) Paradigm innovation adjustment in models does, e.g. skype

Essay about Cubism
Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picassso was probably the most famous artist of the twentieth century. During his artistic
career he created a large body of work that consisted of sculptures, prints and ceramics, while
experimenting with several different materials. Today Picasso is known as one the forefathers of
the artistic movement known as Cubism.
Pablo Picasso was born on October twenty fifth 1881, in Malaga, Spain, to Jose Ruiz and Maria
Picasso. Rather than adopt the common name of his father, Picasso took the more unique last name
of his mother as his own. quot;An artistic prodigy, Picasso at the age of fourteen, completed the one

This change in Picasso s work became known as his quot; Rose Period quot; as stated by ( ).
Picasso went on to meet George Braque, whom is also regarded as one of the forefathers of the
Cubist movement. During this period in his artistic career, Picasso created the portrait of Manuel
Pallares.
To create this work of art Picasso chose to use oil as his medium of choice. What is so
fascinating about the painting is his application of the medium. Picasso uses the brush and or
palette knife to create a cross hatch effect throughout the painting. Picasso chose to use neutral
tones to describe the mood of the painting. The figure of Manuel Pallares is shown in a three
quarters view within the composition. The deliberate positioning of the figure leads the viewer to
believe that Manuel was not someone of importance. His wardrobe also lets the viewer know that
he is an average person.
Picasso s treatment of the details is very representational of the Cubist style. Sharp lines and a vast
array of contrasting shapes and colors emphasize the creases of the suit jacket. This same attention
to detail is present in the mustache and the background as well.
On the other hand, Picasso s treatment of the Manuel s face is quite different. Picasso uses softer
shapes to fine the attitude of Manuel. The blandness of the face leads one to assume that Manuel
was a man of peace in a world of chaos. The background also suggests that he is a man that is
completely involved with his

A Short Note On Na K Cl Cotransporter
Introduction
The Na K Cl cotransporter is a group of ubiquitous membrane transport proteins. This secretory
cotransporter maintains electroneutrality by transporting ions with the stoichiometry of 1Na+:
1K+: 2Cl . Two different gene isoforms of the Na K Cl cotransporter have been found. Both
varieties of the symporter act to regulate and maintain cell volume and intracellular Cl
concentrations. However, the two different isoforms of NKCC vary structurally as although
NKCC2 is around 60% homologous to NKCC1, it is lacking exon 21 (Delpire et al., 1994). The
loss of this exon leads to the differential sorting of the two isoforms therefore they are targeted to
different membrane domains (Carmosino et al., 2008). The first isoform, NKCC1, is a major
component in mediating Cl influx in the basolateral membrane. Contrastingly, NKCC2 is
selectively expressed in the apical membrane of cell such as in thick ascending limb of Henle and
primarily involved in NaCl reabsorption (Darman and Forbush, 2002).
In humans, the Na+ K+ 2Cl cotransporter is encoded by the SLC12A2 gene. These proteins have
the same predicted structure with a large, hydrophobic region containing 12 transmembrane О±
helices surrounded by the hydrophilic N and C terminal cytoplasmic regions. The transmembrane
spanning domains function to allow ion transport and the N and C terminal regions are responsible
for regulation. There is also a large, extracellular, glycosylated loop located between helices 7 and 8

Celebrity and Image Selling
Musicians, actors, athletes, and models all depend on publicity from the media. Promotions
through magazines, newspapers, concerts, movies, CD s, sports networks and social media
determine their success. Not only do the musicians, actors, athletes, and models depend on social
media, but also on the fans. The media allows the public to be involved and interested in what s
happening in different aspects of celebrity entertainment. The influence the media has on celebrity
and image selling is very effective in producing successful careers.
Musicians are one of many aspects of entertainment that are impacted by the media. Possibly the
biggest shift in music has come through social media through an increased level of interaction
between musicians and fans (Evans). Now that we have social media it benefits the artist and the
fans. The artist is able to broadcast, promote and share things that were not possible before. An
example of this would be the artist can share their latest news, achievements or plans with their
fans. The fans are able to keep up with the artist, be more interactive with them and communicate
with them better. An example of this would be they can message , leave comments, or watch videos
of the celebrity. These are just some of the ways that the media has impacted the music industry.
Not only does the media help the music industry connect with their fans but it also

make his last days as special as he was! On a Wednesday evening at around 4:30 pm he called me
and asked me this question, Judy, would you come over and cut my hair? I said, Sure dad, I ll
be over tomorrow morning after I get the boys off to school. He went on, No, I would like you
to do it tonight. I thought why tonight of all nights?? I had to get supper on the table, the boys
ready for a Royal Ranger s Program, get new snow tires on the car and get ready for church.
Church started at 7:00 pm... so I only had two and a half hours to get everything done. Dad, I can
t do it tonight, I explained all the things I had going on and told him I would be there first thing
in the morning. However, that still wasn t good enough and once again he said, I need you to
cut my hair tonight. I thought for a moment and then said, Dad, where in the world are you
going that you need your hair cut tonight? Why can t it wait until morning? I heard the let down
in his voice as he said, Okay, we ll see. and we hung up. My dad died during that night. Those
were not the words I would have chosen to say if I had known they were to be my last words to
my dad!! All to often we say things without thinking or at times we say things we really don t
mean. WORDS are such an important and relevant part of our lives, still we often take them for
granted and aren t as careful with them as we should be! I don t know if my dad had a feeling
something was up and he needed his hair cut. I don t know if he knew he was going to die and
meet his heavenly father that night! What I do know is, we need to use our words in such a way
that people know: We care enough about them to encourage them onward in their endeavors. We
realize the blessings we have in our family, friends, acquaintances and all they truly mean to us!
And, we need to let those we LOVE...

Religion s Reflection in Architecture
How have architectural styles reflected the philosophies, religions, and politics of various cultures
throughout history?
I would like to focus my discussion on religion s reflection in architecture and hope it will not be
too lengthy.
Religion forms the foundation of cultural identity and has decisively shaped world civilizations
based on differing, but not exclusive, views of ultimate value: mercy and benevolence in Buddhism,
morality and ethics in Confucianism, respect in Shintoism, devotion and mystical unity of divine
Self in Hinduism, obedience and perseverance in Judaism, love for the Creator and one s
fellowman in Christianity, and submission to the will of Allah in Islam.

The product of two streams of development, one in the Mediterranean and the other in south central
Asia, Muslim architecture is fundamentally centered upon worship. At its heart is the mosque,
whose characteristic domes, minarets, and stylized decorative art encouraged contemplation and
prayer.
After the destruction of the Temple and dispersal of Jews from Israel in 70 C.E., Judaism focused
on family ritual and synagogues that housed prayer sanctuaries which faced Jerusalem. By the
fifth and sixth centuries, many Arabs respected the non sexualized symbols of Judaism, its ascetic
monotheism, and the Jewish devotion to family life and education. The Arabs called the Jews

The Argument Over Nuclear Energy
Nuclear energy has many benefits, but do they outweigh the cons? The argument over nuclear
energy has continued for many years. Nuclear power does not emit greenhouse gases and
produces massive amounts of energy, but does produce gargantuous amounts of radioactive
waste. The benefits of nuclear power do not outweigh the cons. Firstly, harmful radioactive waste
is a con. Radioactive waste is concentrated lethally (5). Radioactive waste is very dangerous and
could kill people if not disposed of correctly. If exposed to the waste could cause: radiation
sickness, cancers, and other health problems (5). Also, huge amounts of waste are disposed of at at
time. Which means it would be highly concentrated and High level radioactive waste can

Essay on President Woodrow Wilson
President Woodrow Wilson
Woodrow Wilson was the first Southerner to be elected president after the Civil War. Born on
December 28, 1856 in Staunton, Va., he was the son of a Presbyterian minister who supported the
Confederates. Wilson assumed the presidency after a whirlwind career as a college professor,
university president and New Jersey governor. However, Wilsonleft the Oval Office just as
heartbroken as the Confederate soldiers that returned home when he was a boy.
Woodrow Wilson was born as Thomas Woodrow Wilson the son of JanetWoodrow and Joseph

After graduating from Princeton, Wilson entered the University of Virginia to pursue a career in
law. However, he ultimately intended to serve the public and wondered about becoming a
politician. He continued writing and speaking while at Virginia, where he was labeled a man of
courage for publicly speaking against the Confederate cause before a crowd of Southerners. Wilson
finished his law studies at home and opened an office in Atlanta in 1882 with a fellow University
of Virginia alumnus. But the law bored Wilson, who decided in 1883 that he would become a writer
and teacher. Appropriately, Wilson signed up for graduate courses at Johns Hopkins University in
Columbia, S.C., a new school with a reputation for using modern teaching methods to instruct
students.
At the behest of his family, Wilson went to Rome, Ga. before entering Johns Hopkins to settle a
family affair involving an estate. While there, Wilson attended a church where he noticed Ellen
Louise Axson, a minister s daughter. When he entered graduate school, the two were already
engaged. They were not married until June of 1885, shortly before Wilson was given a post at the
newly formed Bryn Mawr College, an all women s school. Wilson s published his first book,
Congressional Government, in 1886. He continued to write political texts at Bryn Mawr, where he

Spiritualism In The Celestine Prophecy

author s motives after sending a nameless character on a spiritual and dangerous journey through
Peru. The reappearing themes of human connection and spirituality are present all throughout the
book as the protagonistslowly moves away from his skepticism and truly experiences a new way to

Redfield is able to both entertain and persuade the reader in many different and unique ways. By
questioning reality in such an interesting fashion, as to say we can become one with the world

unpopular amongst those who truly need it. While having such a large impact on most of whom

Comparing Cupid And Psyche
The Story of Cupid and Psyche first appeared in the book Metamorphoses by Apuleius, written
between 124 170 AD. The story deals with many themes prevalent in tales from classical antiquity,
including love, challenging trials, and interference from the gods. It tells the tale of a love story
between a mortal woman and a god. Psyche is the youngest daughter of an unnamed king and
queen, renowned for her beauty, while Cupid(also known as Eros in Roman mythology) is the son
of the goddess Venus, and a minor god of love. Of the two, Cupid is more recognisable in
modern times, often found with his classic attributes of small feathered wings and a bow and
arrow. In the Renaissance, however, the two lovers are often found together in art, and their story
was particularly popular for its allegorical associations. Italian writer Giovanni Boccaccio drew
parallels between Psyche and Cupid s marriage at the end of the story and union of the human soul
and God (Most, 2010, p.56). Furthermore, Psyche s name is derived from the Greek word for soul .
In her union with Cupid, Psyche transitions from mortality, to one of the immortal divine, much
like how many followers of Christianity in the Renaissance particularly in Italybelieved that if their
souls would live for eternity with God in Paradise. Moreover, Hall discusses Apuleiustale as an
allegory for the union between the Soul and Desire (Eros), with the creation of Pleasure (their
child) as a result (1974, pg.88) In the

Dr Malcolm Clemens Young Summary
Why do you believe that the Reverend Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young is addressing Christians in his
discussion about wealth inequality?
Reverend Young addresses Christians about wealth inequality as he states that Jesus cared for the
poor and consequently, followers of the faith have an obligation to do the same.
What assumptions is he making about religious people?
Dr. Young assumes that religious individuals, and more specifically Chrisitans, are seperate entities
from the top 5% of wage earners. Moreover, the author implies that these extremely wealthy
individuals are materialistic and devoid of the morals and values that are inherent in the less
fortunate. Young states that it is the working poor (who)... contribute a great deal more to society
than the highly paid people who merely move money around.
Reverend Young uses Mitt Romney as an example of excessive riches and details his 7 houses.
However, the author fails to note that Mr. Romney is in fact, a devout Mormom who donates
millions to his church and other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, Reverend Young fails to realize that a strong business acumen can co exisit in
individuals with a devout sense of piety as evidenced by the Mennonites and Quakers ( The
Protestant Ethics and the Spirit of Capitalism 11).
Do you think folks who are religious care more or less about income equality? Why or why not?
I believe that when one has a strong set of ethical beliefs, they will care more about society s
issues, including income inequality. However, I do not believe the religious followers always
possess these moral beliefs nor do those who fail to follow an organized religion lack this ethical
framework. It is truly up to the individual.
What factors in a given religion may impact if a person cares about wealth inequality or

The health and energy drinks market is the fastest growing sector of the burgeoning soft drinks
market, doubling in size every year to reach ВЈ1.5bn last year. Red Bull is the market leader and its
revenues rose 10 per cent to ВЈ1bn last year, on sales of 1.5bn cans. Vodka and Red Bull is still the
most popular alcoholic drink for under 20s.
The pick me up s anti brand brand status explains its rapid success, argues Nirmalya Kumar, senior
analyst at the London Business School. Red Bull has never done anything in a conventional way. It
has not used normal advertising, nor marketing. When it sponsors events or sports, it tends to go for
minority ones.
While the no logo generation is happy, the premium price on cans more than ВЈ1, compared with
50p for Coke or Pepsi has kept the money flowing in to the firm s Alpine HQ. But what is an
irreverent Austrian doing in one of Britain s newest towns and why is he spending a fortune
buying his way into a big brand sport in crisis?
Frustrated by the dominance of business interests over sport and the continued dominance of
Ferrari, some of the big F1 teams are threatening to leave the F1 circus and form a new
competition. Some observers say Red Bull is keeping pace with its core market as it gets older.
Formula One has the kind of dangerous, edgy, masculine image that suits Red Bull, says Richard

Vatican II Council s Interpreting Scripture Analysis
There is no doubt of the impact that Pope John XXIII s Vatican II Council had on many aspects of
the life of the church. In particular, the orientations and convictions of the council on understanding
the Christian life appears to have acutely responded to the needs of the people, as it fueled, if not
ignited, an interest in spirituality that extended well beyond the Catholic Church, and well beyond
the 1960 s. With a universal call to one holiness rooted in the call of Christian baptism,
spirituality was no longer just for the ordained and the vowed religious. Further, the Council s
emphasis on the role of the Word of God satisfied a deep hunger of the people to allow God s
Word to penetrate their prayer, their morality, and their discipleship.

One cannot be done without the other. God calls us all to worship Him and remain connected to all
humanity. Therefore, Christian spirituality must be rooted in the liturgical life of the church, that
is, to be a part of the mystical Body of Christ. The Council understood the liturgy, specifically the
Eucharist, as the source and summit of Christian life. It is the source of nourishment for our ethics,
our morality, our sense of responsibility for, and accountability to, one another. It is here in the
church, in the midst of diversity and inclusivity that we find our common ground living in the

The North Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has individuals on both sides of the aisle

Overview and Trade Effects explains that NAFTA was signed into law in 1993 by United States
(U.S.) President William J. Clinton a year following President George H.W. Bush s negotiations on

Reflection On Ethics
Ethics is a blend of various concepts and fundamental principles of decorous human conduct. It
not only studies these various concepts and principles but also governs the values pertaining to
human rights or natural rights, the essential equality of all men and women across the globe, the
basic concern for health and safety, and also for the natural environment on the whole. Be it any
industry, business, any form of work place, it follows a certain code of conduct, which is legit
and undeniable. Apart from restricting the concept of Ethics only to industries and business, I
feel, ethics begins from within. Ethics are basically the rules or standards leading to the conduct
by which I live my life and make all my decisions. One of the best ways of thinking about ethics
is to take a quick look at your beliefs and then think about how your reactions would be when
those beliefs are challenged. Ethics definitely do not arise out of a mere vacuity, they are more like

Comparison (J. Swift A. Pope) Essay
The attitudes portrayed in Alexander Pope s An Essay on Man and Jonathan Swift s A Modest
Proposal towards mankind is strikingly similar. Both acknowledge the view that man has
dominion over the earth, as created and instituted by God. However, the difference is seen in their
approaches to this subject. Pope primarily focuses on man s pride and place in society, whereas
Swift discusses how man deals with certain situations reasonably or unreasonably. Pope and Swift
present situations that man has to face in conjunction with illogical conclusions. Besides exhibiting
illogical conclusions, they also show the selfish, prideful, rebellious, jealous, and the ungrateful
characteristics of man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He indicates that in our attempt to gain more knowledge and wisdom that we press beyond the
limits, and that some things mankind is not able to know. Pope suggest to the reader to submit to
the laws of nature, and do not think or act beyond mankind. He has the concept that there is a
divine order and grand scheme of things and to rest in the place that you are in. Pope states:
All Nature, is but Art, unknown to thee;
All Chance, Direction, which thou canst not see;
All discord, harmony not understood;
All partial evil, universal good:
And spite of Pride, in erring Reason s pride,
One truth is clear, whatever is, is right (Pope 518. 289 295).
From the religious stand point, the reader can assume that Pope is suggesting that man needs to be
content with where he is and count everything as done in a divine order. He also suggest that it is
better to trust in the laws of nature, than to lean to thine own understanding. While seeking wisdom
and knowledge is acceptable, as well as having a sense of pride, man needs to respect and adhere to
the boundaries that have been created.
The opposite appears in the work of Jonathan Swift. He presents a situation that clearly needs to be
changed. The intent of the narrator, from the reader s understanding and perception is that he is
trying to open

Argumentative Essay Smoking
The numbers of people who smoke have increased over the years. Although they are equipped
with the knowledge of how unhealthy smoking can be, people still choose to smoke. It is a
personal choice and a highly addictive habit. Smokers choose to subject themselves to the health
risks of smoking. It is not for the government or any third party to dictate whether or not a person
should be allowed to smoke. However, smokingdoes not only affect the smoker negatively. It also
affects all the people around those who smoke because when people smoke in public the smoke
travels everywhere through the air, and the negative effects of the smoke affects all living,
breathing creatures. Therefore smoking should be banned in all public places.
People who smoke in public portray a bad example. Children are easily influenced in their growing
stages. They imitate the people around them because they cannot differentiate between right and
wrong. Therefore they perceive the actions they see around them as the way thing should be.
Besides that, teenagers who see people smoke in public take it as precedent to start smoking as
well. There is a saying that goes monkey see monkey do , which tells us that people imitate the
actions of others as they see it in their daily lives. Teenagers happen to think that smoking makes a
person cool . When they see adults doing it on the streets, it strengthens their belief in the coolness
of smoking. Some teenagers think that smoking marks their transition

Roof Shingles Case Study
Back in 1989 when I installed my first asphalt shingle there was many changes in the roofing
manufacture sector. The end result was down sizing the weight to accommodate a more flexible
shingle. The old shingles in the USA were known as Asphalt roofing shingles or a standard strip 3
tab shingles. At that time there were other shingles on the market known as Standard strip asphalt
composition shingles or Architectural shingles called Timberline or heavy weight shingles known
as random tab, and three tabs or standard were becoming composition shingles.
The older organic shingles were just simply called asphalt shingles made with number five crude
oil with the advent of the fiberglass standard strip composition shingle was born. Owens Corning ...

I welcome any and all comments from CARE (Center for Advancement for Roofing Excellence) and
the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association of America (ARMA)as well as any National
Roofing Contractors Association of America (NRCA), members of affiliates to correct my
definition on the difference between asphalt roofing shingles and asphalt composition roofing
shingles.
There are roofing shingles that I have seen come and go, such as the masonite shingle, which is a
composite material that requires flashing between each joint to seal it off. There are also
concrete tiles which I would consider composite since it does not have the slate or clay tile
attributes, known as concrete tiles. There is also another material called Mira Vista of which was
a fake slate the Owens Corning made that would fall under the composite material that was made
of a plastic or a plasticiser type composite material.
At any rate it is up to you to decide what type of roof you would like to put on your home. Every
shingle manufacturer in the USA is an asphalt composition roofing shingle. All Asphalt fiberglass
composition shingles come with a 20 year to lifetime warranty and anything in

15 Layer Lasagnes At The Spaghetti Warehouse
The Spaghetti Warehouse, an italian restaurant in downtown Toledo, is most well known for their
sourdough bread, rich garlic butter and nostalgic decor. Olive Garden, another italian eatery, is
known for their endless soup, salad, and delectable breadsticks. However, these two diners have
more in common than simply italian cuisine. The two places almost have identical menus and
prices. So, how does one decide which place to have a bite to eat? Although reading reviews of the
two on Eat.com is simple, one must take into account the following criteria to truly make the right
decision.
First, the guest must consider the diversity of the menu. Although the two diners have quite similar
menus, Olive Garden offers many more seafood and gluten free ... Show more content on

There s a fine line between an obnoxious, superfluous server, and a thoughtful, attentive one.
Furthermore, a dining experience shouldn t be impersonal or terribly intimate. The Spaghetti
Warehouse offers a haimish environment that is good for large parties and small dinners out. The
unique restaurant features a train car running through the middle of the dining room where guests
can eat their food. The Spaghetti Warehouse also features two unique party rooms upstairs, and
an entire downstairs area fit for parties and live music. The eatery is equipped with the latest
technology but uses it wisely and in good taste. Olive Garden s environment is family friendly,
however, the visit can easily become boring and impersonal. When the guest is seated at their
table, they are given the option to use a small computer sitting on their table. This small computer
enables the guest to order all of their food without even making contact with the server. This
misuse of technology can easily make the dining experience flop, and quickly puts Olive Garden in
second place for good, humble

Cooking meats on the indoor grill is easy, but it s also incredibly healthy. There are certain ways
to cook the meat and ways you should marinade that will have an impact on the calories you
consume at your next meal. Be aware of how to cook healthy with meats on your indoor grill.
Article:
You might be surprised to learn that you can cook the same meats on the indoor grill as you can

Lemon and virgin olive oil should be the key ingredients in the marinade. It ll give you healthy oils
in your diet, too.
Traditional Burgers on the Grill
If you want to enjoy a grilled burger on your indoor grill, you can cook with lean hamburger. The
type of the seasonings that you use will matter for the calorie count, too. We suggest using dry
seasonings that won t add many calories. Salt and pepper are simple ingredients that can add an
incredible amount of flavor. After the meat is cooked, add vegetables and onions for a great burger
that doesn t need a ton of condiments.
Instead of using hamburger or adding pork to the mixture, you can use turkey burger for a lighter
alternative to burger meat. You can add the same seasonings to the turkey and have a flavorful
burger that will definitely have less fat and calories.
Either way, the grill will pull the fat and grease away from the meat and channel it down into the
drip tray where you won t have to worry about putting that grease into your body.
Pork Grilling
Any cut of pork that has loin in the name is one that has less fat. For example, pork tenderloin is
one of the leanest parts of the meat. Country style ribs have less calories than baby back or spare
ribs, too. That s because country style ribs have a dry rub instead of smearing barbecue sauce on the
ribs that are filled with sugar.
You can prepare a pork chop the night

Advancements Of Invasive Surgery ( Mis ) Essay
Introduction With the rise of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) methods being used in medical
operating rooms, Medical Equipment Manufacturing (MEM) sees an opportunity to be the
frontrunner in developing the manufacturing processes and licensing the technology for this
emerging market. MEM is a manufacturer of an assortment of modern medical devices. The
company sees potential in developing manufacturing processes for the technology that can place an
artificial socket with precision during hip implants. However, the expenses involved are cause for
concern. The success of the product is also not guaranteed; moreover, MEM will have to consider
the potential for competitors who may produce analogous products. Initially, it was thought that the
fixed cost of entering into this market is $55 million, whereas the variable cost of present value
revenue is $200 million. There is a 10% chance that MEM s development of this technology will be
not marketable, resulting in the loss of the fixed cost investment. Problem Statement Susan, Vice
President of Product Innovation at MEM, needs to make a choice of whether to launch the product
into the market by developing the new technology. She also needs an approximation of the total
market shared by MEM for this product, and the likely profits for MEM from following this new
technology. According to the chief production engineer, the expected cost of launching the product
($55 million) does not depict the uncertainty in manufacturing

El Dorado Research Paper
Colby Wentlandt Wentlandt 1 Mrs. Lyons English 9 May 20th, 2015 El Dorado El Dorado, written
by Edgar Allan Poe, is often considered to be one of best poems of all time, but have you ever
considered the inspiration behind the poem? Or perhaps, the true meaning of the poem that Poe
often contemplated? Many people struggle with the mainstream worldview questions that include
the topic of unattainable happiness, unattainable happiness is false, there is always a light at the
end of the tunnel and happiness is attainable through trust in God rather than human self
indulgence. Throughout the years gold has been an object of great fascination and greed among

According to Willie Drye, the city of legend shifted geological locations until it was said to just be
a city of untold wealth somewhere in the Americas. The legend originated in South America when
Spanish explorers reached South America and discovered the Aztec s immense collection of gold
(most of which they stole upon arrival to the Americas). However, in the 16th century the story
grew like wild fire among European explorers and treasure hunters who were hungry for vast
wealth. According to Christopher Minster, the name El Dorado originally started with European
explorers overhearing that a new chieftain was rising to power (Minster, Christopher 1). Supposedly
his rule started with a ceremony at Lake Guatavita. While the ceremony took place supposedly the

Buddhist Beliefs
Buddhism, is a religion with a more concentrated population of followers in the far east. There are
many practices and beliefs that are of great relevance to western society. Three of these beliefs and
practices are; the Buddhist views on women and children, meditation, and Dana. There are central
Buddhist beliefs and practices that can help rectify some of the great issues we are plagued with in
the western world.
According to Buddhist philosophy men and women are equals. Women are not the property of
men. The physical abuse of women and children is not tolerated. According to
Canadianwomen.org , half of all women in Canada have experienced at least incident of physical
or sexual violance since the age of 16 . Unfortunately there individuals in this world that see
women and children as objects that can be tormented and abused at the individual s will. The
Buddhist views on the treatment of women and children can be applied to this situation. If we

Living A Health Conscious Lifestyle
Like many children, I went through the ubiquitous why stage. I constantly posed this question, even
to the smallest and most mundane events in life. Filled with genuine curiosity and love of learning,
I desired to understand the ornate workings of the world. Unlike the majority of children, however,
I did not lose this fervor and drive to find answers. This inquisitiveness laid the foundation for my
interest in researchwork. Growing up, my family placed a tremendous emphasis on health, fitness,
and nutrition.
From an early age, I appreciated the value of living a health conscious lifestyle. However, when my
older sister, Melissa, began to struggle with an eating disorder, I saw the detrimental effects that
occur when this healthy lifestyle is amplified to an all consuming extreme. Witnessing the immense
ramifications and toil that this disorder had on her instigated my interest in the psychology of eating
disorders and led me to countless questions that began with why? . Although this was in keeping
with my inquisitive nature, this time my questions evoked not only a search for answers but a
distinctive and enduring academic quest. By the time I was in 6th grade, I had confidently decided
I would obtain my PhD in clinical psychology. In an academic light, I sought to cultivate a
professional comprehension of eating disorders and dissect their intricate nature and the various
methods of treatment. My aspiration to pursue an active role in this field is chiefly

Chicago Bears Case Analysis
The 2016 season was a disappointment for the Chicago Bears. They finished with a record of 3
13, Quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Kevin White were both dealing with injuries, wide
receiver Alshon Jeffery was suspended for four games due to PEDs, and the defense struggled.
Despite all the bad moments the Bears had last season, there were still some bright spots such as
rookie running back Jordan Howard rushing for 1,313 yards and wide receiver Cam Meredith
becoming a playmaker in the Chicago s offense. Out of the two scenarios, Meredith becoming a
viable option was not expected before the season began. The expectation was that Jeffery, White,
and a combination of Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson would be the top three wide... Show more

Out of three, Cutler has the strongest arm but he only played in five games. Meredith s best
games happened with either Barkley or Hoyer under center. Last season, he had four games of
100 plus receiving yards, including his first ever start, which happened in Week 5 against the
Indianapolis Colts on the road. The 6 foot 3 Meredith dominated in the Bears 29 23 loss, playing
opposite Jeffery. He had nine receptions (12 targets) for 130 yards and a touchdown. His
touchdown came in the second quarter after Howard ran for 57 yards. On second and goal,
Hoyer found Meredith who faked Colts cornerback Patrick Robinson into thinking he was
running a curl route and put on a double move for a touchdown in the back of the end zone. https:
//youtu.be/o1bTdpYFnas However, that was not his best game last season as that would come
against the Washington Redskins. Even though the Bears lost 41 21, Meredith put on a show with
nine receptions (12 targets) for 135 yards. The potential Meredith showed last season should make
the Bears feel comfortable about potentially making him the No.1 wide receiver. But that may not
be easy because White is still there and they are probably hoping the former seventh overall pick
can stay healthy and put together a productive season. Not to mention, over the offseason, Chicago
added wide receivers Victor Cruz, Markus Wheaton, and Kendall Wright. None of

Fear Descriptive Writing
There I was sweating and shaking my hands and pacing in the pitch black behind a side curtain,
waiting anxiously for the main curtain to open and the hot blinding lights to turn on. Others were
going over lines and scenes last minute and I was busy calming myself down and telling myself
that I d be fine. In this moment, my hands become sticky with nerves. The only steady sound is my
breathing.
And then all of a sudden, the lights are on, the curtain is open, and my voice is the only sound.
Steps follow behind me and I m not alone anymore. My hands are no longer sticky and my voice is
loud and calm. No tremor as I feared I would have. My mind is quiet and I m relieved of the worries

Westward Expansion
While the western United States was growing rapidly, the means on transportation across the great
plains was a very long and dangerous trek. With the growing desire for western settlements, the
Transcontinental Railroad would offer a much faster and safer means of travel to the western
states. The railroad would also be capable of carrying goods to and from the West.
There were some primary motives for the United States Government to promote and be so largely
involved with the building of the railroad. First, it was the age of Manifest Destiny, a term coined
by journalist John O Sullivan in 1845, was a driving force in 19th century America s western
expansion. It was the notion that Americans and the institutions of the U.S. are morally superior
and therefore Americans are morally obligated to spread those institutions ( Westward Expansion ).
The building of the Transcontinental Railroad would be an enormous step in this process, making
the settlement of the west much more inviting to people, as well as making the process of western
expansion much faster.
Secondly, the fact of being able to send troops much quicker to the Western states. There was great
conflict between settlers and the Native Americans once the flood of people began. This brought
the need for the troops to protect the settlers, and eventually, to force the rightfully resilient Native
Americans onto reservations. Third, as California continued to grow in population, the United
States Government was

  • 2. Medieval Peasant Under The Feudal System Medieval Peasants Eleanor After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Feudal system was developed. Between the 9th and 15th Century, the Feudal system provided the model of the medieval class system. It defined the people who had wealth and comfort such as royal families, and those without wealth and comfort, the peasants. William I, better known as William the Conqueror , defeated Harold at the Battle of Hastings and became King. He introduced the Feudal system. The people didn t trust William I so he divided England into big plots of land and gave it to Noblemen who had fought bravely for him. These Noblemen swore loyalty and collected taxes from peasants on their land. The peasants worked hard to pay these taxes and produce enough food to survive. The Feudal System was an unfair way to organise society because peasants were trapped in their position in the Feudal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They lived in conditions that barely let them survive. Peasants lived in small thatch roofed one roomed houses. The floor was nothing more than dirt and they slept on bags of itchy hay. They lived in villages of up to 100 people, many people living in one house. They were forced to pay taxes and could only keep the food they had left over. If they didn t do this there were horrible consequences. Because they couldn t afford medicine peasants would often die of diseases, a big one being the plague which took the lives of thousands of peasants. Peasants ate only what was necessary for them to survive. Compared to knights who were given fish and meat with fresh vegetable and fruits often flavoured with the top spices, peasants ate very plain and tasteless meals. They ate things like Corn, bread and meat that had been preserved in salt. Peasants sometimes wouldn t have enough food to feed themselves, because of this many peasants starved. • 4. Heaviness Of The Brick Suddenly the brick occurs to mind when the story starts by talking about lightness. A brick itself is light enough to be handled by hand, but a brick house is hefty. The brick is made from dried mud; that makes clearer the meaning of lightness of brick. However, the land that holds the mud means a full deadweight. Heaviness from lightness and lightness from heaviness, there are various possible ways to look into the relationship between heaviness and lightness through the brick; that s why we should talk about heaviness while keeping lightness in mind and vice versa. For example, the story of the three little pigs mirrors the heaviness of the brick. Their houses made of straw and sticks are blown away by the simple breath, revealing conversely the heaviness and solidity of the brick as a construction material. It is also an ample proof that numerous ancient buildings preserved today are mostly made of bricks or stones. The basilica where Leonardo da Vinci painted The Last Supper in 1494 was built of red bricks. Aula Palatina, as known as the Basilica of Constantine, was built with fired bricks around ... Jean-Louis David and Jean-Jacques Rousseau Essay Jean Louis David + Jean Jacques Rousseau Question : In what ways and to what extent is an understanding of historical context important in approaching the works of (a) David and (b) Rousseau? The Lictors Returning to Brutus the Bodies of his Sons , is a painting by the French artist Jean Louis David in 1789. This was not an uncommon reaction towards David s art at the time. However, the painting was restored to a place of honor by Baudelaire, who wrote : This painting is David s masterpiece and one of the great curiosities of modern art because, by a strange feat, it has nothing trivial or vile. What is most surprising in this very unusual visual poem is that it was painted very quickly. When one thinks of the beauty of the lines, this quickness is bewildering. This is food for the strong, the triumph of spiritualism. David s artwork did not just involve the use of pretty colours. Many of his paintings beared powerfull meanings, historically and politically. Culturally they had a huge impact on social activity during the French Revolution. The story of Brutus was popular with educated sections of the French public during the eighteenth century. Voltaire s play Brutus , was performed on stage from 1730. In November 1790, the first two performances of a revival of Brutus at the National Theater in Paris took place. At the second performance of the revival, a stage tableau of David s painting was acted out at the moment when the death of Brutus son was announced. Like his later Death of Marat , David s Brutus can be seen as a representation of a kind of political heroism in which the best interests of society are put before those of the individual. • 9. Authoritarian Technologies In The Whale And The Reactor Although Ursula Franklin and Langdon Winner both classify technology in different ways, they bring up many similar points regarding the intersection of power and technology in our everyday life. Franklin s theory of technology as practice categorizes technology as either prescriptive or holistic in The Real World of Technology , which correlates well with Winner s idea of technology being created with either authoritarian or democratic motives in The Whale and the Reactor. After reading both arguments, a clear correlation can be made between holistic/democratic technologies and prescriptive/authoritarian technologies as a way to describe power in our society. Franklin uses the term technology to define ways of doing something. To her, holistic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Franklin s idea of a prescriptive technology is any process that has been broken down into steps, where workers specialize in only one step. These technologies require discipline and planning, and are designed for compliance (Franklin, 1999). She uses Chinese bronze making to show how each step involves different people, because if they weren t completed properly, the process couldn t continue. Similarly, Winner s view on authoritarian technology in that objects can either be designed to assist those with a hidden agenda to establish patterns of power and authority (Winner, 1986) or that new technologies or some of their qualities can be strongly or specifically linked to parties who are trying to create a need for authority or power. Both of these arguments highlight that these technologies now dominate society, and are no longer restricted to mainly material production. They can be found in administrative and economic activities as well as many aspects governance. Technology can now control where we can and cannot go, removing the need to make decisions. He used the construction of overpasses in New York as an example of this. To control who was able to get into the city, overpasses were built low so only cars (owned by white people in the middle and upper class) could get in and those who took public transit (poor people and racial minorities) could not, limiting the amount of low income citizens. This also shows that new technologies can be created for one purpose (transportation) to disguise hidden motives (controlling the demographic of a population). Franklin also acknowledges this, explaining that although prescriptive technologies have brought us many important products, raised living standards and increased well being, they have also created a culture of compliance (Franklin, 1999). Winner and Franklin both show a concern for these types of technologies, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The country fell under the rule of China and France at early points in its history before claiming its full independence in 1945. Many Americans still view Vietnam from the Vietnam War point of view because it ended in a United States defeat. Since that war almost 40 years ago, Vietnams leadership has had a plan in place to rebuild the country s infrastructure and solidify its place in the world. Today, Vietnam continues to thrive economically by taking advantage of its natural resources and location despite being the home to one of the last single party Socialist governments in the world. Vietnam is a long winding section of land on the eastern side of the Indochinese peninsula. Including its island area, it has just over 128,000 miles of land, or slightly more space than the state of New Mexico. Vietnam has three borders countries: China (to the north), Laos (to the central west) and Cambodia (to the southwest). On a map, the country looks like an elongated S just over 1,000 miles in length and only 31 miles in width at its maximum. Three main bodies of water also border Vietnam. Abstract This paper aims at developing a complex verification environment for the results character conversion (RCC) module of a DTMF Receiver using system Verilog language. To ease the process of verification, many new concepts involving assertion based techniques and functional verification methodologies have been growing over the past few years. New standards that now involve the Property Specification Language (PSL) and the Open Verification Library (OVL) have come into effect.[#abv_ovl_psl] Though there are many languages currently used for verification, a unique aspect of system Verilog is its support for object oriented programming. This feature makes it usable in a complex environment for testing higher order systems. Being a language that supports object oriented programming (OOP), the concept of inheritance can be used that increases the code re usability and provides better control over the objects used in the environment. Even though the language supports inheritance, there is a lack of support for multiple inheritances and [#inheritance_solution] provides a novel way to overcome this problem. This paper discusses in detail about the verification approach used to test a DTMF receiver core module starting with a general discussion of the system Verilog language along with a brief description of a DTMF receiver and it s signaling. In the next section, the paper provides a brief overview of the typical verification environment observed in a test bench along with an explanation of how the various verification blocks have been implemented in our project. • 12. Examples Of Archetypes In The Lamb By William Blake True Meaning (A discussion on Blake s Archetypes) An archetype is defined as a recurrent symbol in literature, art, and mythology. Tigers in the real world today are the biggest killing/hunting machines, and they never let anything get in their way. Tigers want all the power. Blake explains What immortal hand or eye, could frame thy fearful symmetry? . He uses the word fearful in that sentence to describe the tigers face. He also used the word could in the quote above, but also restates the statement using dare instead of could. Blake is trying to get at how could someone make something so destructive and demanding. Blake uses fire to describe the tiger several times. For example, In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fire of thine eyes. Blake s uses fire to describe the tiger because they share similar qualities, such as being deadly and harmful to many living things. William Blake did a excellent job at explaining how a tiger is a good archetype for power. In The Chimney Sweeper uses archetypes to represent faith. Blake is able to use these chimney sweepers as a good archetype for faith because they often go through very hard lives. When my mother died I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Picasso went on to meet George Braque, whom is also regarded as one of the forefathers of the Cubist movement. During this period in his artistic career, Picasso created the portrait of Manuel Pallares. To create this work of art Picasso chose to use oil as his medium of choice. What is so fascinating about the painting is his application of the medium. Picasso uses the brush and or palette knife to create a cross hatch effect throughout the painting. Picasso chose to use neutral tones to describe the mood of the painting. The figure of Manuel Pallares is shown in a three quarters view within the composition. The deliberate positioning of the figure leads the viewer to believe that Manuel was not someone of importance. His wardrobe also lets the viewer know that he is an average person. Picasso s treatment of the details is very representational of the Cubist style. Sharp lines and a vast array of contrasting shapes and colors emphasize the creases of the suit jacket. This same attention to detail is present in the mustache and the background as well. On the other hand, Picasso s treatment of the Manuel s face is quite different. Picasso uses softer shapes to fine the attitude of Manuel. The blandness of the face leads one to assume that Manuel was a man of peace in a world of chaos. The background also suggests that he is a man that is completely involved with his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. A Short Note On Na K Cl Cotransporter Introduction The Na K Cl cotransporter is a group of ubiquitous membrane transport proteins. This secretory cotransporter maintains electroneutrality by transporting ions with the stoichiometry of 1Na+: 1K+: 2Cl . Two different gene isoforms of the Na K Cl cotransporter have been found. Both varieties of the symporter act to regulate and maintain cell volume and intracellular Cl concentrations. However, the two different isoforms of NKCC vary structurally as although NKCC2 is around 60% homologous to NKCC1, it is lacking exon 21 (Delpire et al., 1994). The loss of this exon leads to the differential sorting of the two isoforms therefore they are targeted to different membrane domains (Carmosino et al., 2008). The first isoform, NKCC1, is a major component in mediating Cl influx in the basolateral membrane. Contrastingly, NKCC2 is selectively expressed in the apical membrane of cell such as in thick ascending limb of Henle and primarily involved in NaCl reabsorption (Darman and Forbush, 2002). In humans, the Na+ K+ 2Cl cotransporter is encoded by the SLC12A2 gene. These proteins have the same predicted structure with a large, hydrophobic region containing 12 transmembrane О± helices surrounded by the hydrophilic N and C terminal cytoplasmic regions. The transmembrane spanning domains function to allow ion transport and the N and C terminal regions are responsible for regulation. There is also a large, extracellular, glycosylated loop located between helices 7 and 8 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ephesians 4:29 We took my dad home from a three month hospital stay on a cold, snowy winter s morning and made him as comfortable as possible. There was nothing more the doctors could do so we were determined to make his last days as special as he was! On a Wednesday evening at around 4:30 pm he called me and asked me this question, Judy, would you come over and cut my hair? I said, Sure dad, I ll be over tomorrow morning after I get the boys off to school. He went on, No, I would like you to do it tonight. I thought why tonight of all nights?? I had to get supper on the table, the boys ready for a Royal Ranger s Program, get new snow tires on the car and get ready for church. I thought for a moment and then said, Dad, where in the world are you going that you need your hair cut tonight? Why can t it wait until morning? I heard the let down in his voice as he said, Okay, we ll see. and we hung up. My dad died during that night. • 28. Comparing Cupid And Psyche The Story of Cupid and Psyche first appeared in the book Metamorphoses by Apuleius, written between 124 170 AD. The story deals with many themes prevalent in tales from classical antiquity, including love, challenging trials, and interference from the gods. It tells the tale of a love story between a mortal woman and a god. Psyche is the youngest daughter of an unnamed king and queen, renowned for her beauty, while Cupid(also known as Eros in Roman mythology) is the son of the goddess Venus, and a minor god of love. Of the two, Cupid is more recognisable in modern times, often found with his classic attributes of small feathered wings and a bow and arrow. In the Renaissance, however, the two lovers are often found together in art, and their story was particularly popular for its allegorical associations. Italian writer Giovanni Boccaccio drew parallels between Psyche and Cupid s marriage at the end of the story and union of the human soul and God (Most, 2010, p.56). Furthermore, Psyche s name is derived from the Greek word for soul . In her union with Cupid, Psyche transitions from mortality, to one of the immortal divine, much like how many followers of Christianity in the Renaissance particularly in Italybelieved that if their souls would live for eternity with God in Paradise. Moreover, Hall discusses Apuleiustale as an allegory for the union between the Soul and Desire (Eros), with the creation of Pleasure (their child) as a result (1974, pg.88) In the ... It not only studies these various concepts and principles but also governs the values pertaining to human rights or natural rights, the essential equality of all men and women across the globe, the basic concern for health and safety, and also for the natural environment on the whole. Be it any industry, business, any form of work place, it follows a certain code of conduct, which is legit and undeniable. Apart from restricting the concept of Ethics only to industries and business, I feel, ethics begins from within. Ethics are basically the rules or standards leading to the conduct by which I live my life and make all my decisions. One of the best ways of thinking about ethics is to take a quick look at your beliefs and then think about how your reactions would be when those beliefs are challenged. Ethics definitely do not arise out of a mere vacuity, they are more like a puzzle that is thrown together over time, that when complete makes up who we are and what we believe. Pope primarily focuses on man s pride and place in society, whereas Swift discusses how man deals with certain situations reasonably or unreasonably. With the growing desire for western settlements, the Transcontinental Railroad would offer a much faster and safer means of travel to the western states.
