The overall attitude towards growth for Domino s Pizza is to grow and become the largest, fastest,
and overall best pizza delivery company in the world. To do this, they operate themselves by
implementing and executing an array of growth strategies.
The first strategy that Domino s executes on is concentration strategy. This strategy consists of a
basic principle in which a business or company does one thing and does this one task very well.
There are three sub strategies underneath the concentration strategy and the first one is known as
product development. The product development strategy means that a company sells a new
product in the same market. Domino s is using the product development strategy by selling new
types of pizza, the thin crust and deep dish, along with the pasta bowls, chicken wings, and deserts
to the same market of pizza consumers. This strategy allows Domino s to diversify and strengthen
their menu while appealing to a larger market of people that not only enjoy eating pizza but also
other entrГ©e s that Domino s has implemented into their menu.
The second sub strategy is known as market development. This sub strategy allows a company to

England? This reality was all too real for Lady Jane Grey, the quiet young girl from

The Lost Son Poem Analysis
Theodore Roethke s The Lost Son : Theme of Death Theodore Roethke s 1948 The Lost Son is
perhaps one of his best known poems. It is composed of five sections, which highlight a period
or periods of great sadness for the speaker. From the beginning, it seems that the speaker is also
the author. The five sections are The Flight, The Pit, The Gibber, The Return, and It was
beginning winter. Roethke s work is a journey of sorts as the author indulges the audience in his
emotions that reveal his desolation and sorrow. Eventually, the speaker concludes his extended
disposition, and it is apparent that his griefs are far from over. However, he can only hopefor a
brighter future. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the poem and highlight the theme of death
expressed by the author.
The first part of the poem, The Flight, is laced with sadness. It reveals the author s feelings about
the loss of identity as well as the anxiety surrounding death. Roethke starts by referring to
Woodlawn cemetery. This, in turn, sets the stage for what is an eerie and frightening narration.
He portrays not just fear but terrible fear. Perhaps the term flight is metaphorical to mean
traveling to another world; a spiritual realm. Woodlawn sets the stage for death. This is where the
speaker dies and takes the infamous trip. At first instance, he presents himself as dead waiting to
be consumed by worms or trodden over by snails. However, a further reading of the poem reveals
that it is

The penny has a lot of history, through the 200 years the penny changed design and value. Based
on the article The Ever Changing Penny. The first pennies were minted in 1857, they were very
large, larger than a modern day quarter and had different images of the statue of liberty on the
front(4). With this example, one can see, there were several visions for the penny before the final
product of the Abraham Lincoln penny in 1909. The history of the penny reveals more than just a

The Effects Of Mass Media And Communication On The Society
Media Message
Introduction
Behavioral sciences play a central role in figuring out the likely effect of mass media and
communication in the society. Different theories and approaches are used to figure this out. This
study refers to the Uses and Gratifications, and Cultivation theories to consider the effect of the
media article below on individuals. The uses and gratification theory argues that consumers of a
given media uses this media to satisfy and fulfill specific desires and needs. On the other hand,
cultivation theory holds that heavy exposure to a certain media can cause an individual to have an
illusory perception of the life reality based on the most consistent and repetitive message that is
given in this media (Fourie, 2011).

Original Writing Of The Phantomhive Manor
Some say that living in the Phantomhive Manor would be dull and boring. You didn t think so. On
the contrary, there were things that occurred that made it quite amusing to live on the large estate.
One was the constant misfortunes that befell the servants, such as the breaking of a substantial
amount of dishes, or the accidental killing of an entire garden. These events were the result of the
servants own clumsiness, and in part, foolishness; it made the Phantomhive Manor so much more
lively and humorous than it would be without them. One more thing that amused you at the manor
was the head butler, Sebastian. When you first found the house, you were surprised to see another

weapons and fled from the manor. Under his master s orders, Sebastian practically chased you
across the city, wanting answers as to why you had been in the process of sneaking into the
Phantomhive Manor. After that incident, Sebastian made you apologize to his master, although
you were rather annoyed about having to in the first place. For some reason, you kept visiting
time after time, and Earl Phantomhive, who was now your master as well, had made you a part
of his staff after learning how long you had managed to stay out of Sebastian s reach. Your job,

James Lee McDonough was born June 17, 1934, in Nashville, TN. Mr. McDonough is the son of

Hell Before Night, Stones River: Bloody Winter in Tennessee, Chattanooga: A Death Grip On
The Confederacy, and War So Terrible: Sherman and Atlanta .He is currently 82 and resides in
Lewisburg, Tennessee where he is 82 years of age. Through the whole book it is clear that
McDonough believes that the defeat of the south was unavoidable and how important Kentucky
was to the war with her waterways and railroads. The main thesis was the importance of the
Western Theatre and the idea that 1862 was a decisive year in the war, The author states how the

Supreme Court Decision-Making
Segal, Timpone and Howard s article Buyer Beware? (2000) draws upon existing research into the
appointment of Supreme Court justices by seeking to empirically prove Robert Dahl s 1957 theory
that a justice s voting typically reflects the policy preferences of the president who appointed them,
thereby allowing presidents to achieve their policy goals even after leaving office (pp. 557 558).
The authors clarify this by stating that in the event of a clear correlation, concordance should not be
considered synonymous with responsiveness. Put simply, the research is not proposing that
Supreme Court justices are directly influenced by the decisions of the president who appoints them,
but merely that the president and appointee share the same political... Show more content on

As Hulbary and Walker note in The Supreme Court Selection Process (1980), presidents may
consider a range of factors when selecting their desired justice, such as age, race, religion and the
likelihood of the nomination gaining the Senate s approval. Thus, it would be reductive to
conclude from Segal, Timpone and Howard s research that shared policy preferences are the
primary goal of a nominating president in all cases. The authors rightfully acknowledge this by
highlighting Dwight Eisenhower s nomination of William J. Brennan, a justice far more liberal
than his appointer who is widely believed to have been chosen as a concession to northern
liberals before the 1956 election (pp. 569 570). A more recent example of this trend would be the
2016 nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court by Barack Obama. While it is unlikely
that the centrist Garland would have been Obama s first choice to fill the vacant seat left by
Antonin Scalia, he may now represent the least worst scenario, insofar as he stands a small chance
of being approved by an obstructionist Republican Senate. If this occurs, it would surely be treated
as a victory by the current White House administration. As such, it is important not to automatically
conflate ideological differences between president and justice with a failed appointment, a trap that
the article occasionally falls into (p.

Pros And Cons Of Stricter Gun Control Laws
The United States needs stricter federal handgun control laws because stricter gun control laws
would reduce the number of handgun deaths and injuries, more gun control laws would lead to
fewer suicides, banning high capacity magazines would prevent mass shootings and murders,
stricter gun control laws have worked in other countries by leading to lower homicideand suicide
rates than the United States, and guns are rarely used in self defense and they do not decrease
crime rates.
Stricter gun control laws would reduce the number of handgun deaths and injuries in the United
States per year. There were 464,033 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2013: 58% were suicides,
38% were homicides, 2% were unintentional deaths. 67% of all homicides were committed with
guns, and 52% of all suicides were committed with guns. According to a March 10, 2016 Lancet
study, implementing federal universal background checks could reduce firearm deaths by a
predicted 60%, background checks for ammunition purchases could reduce deaths by a predicted
81%, and gun ID requirements could reduce deaths by a predicted 83%. All these statistics could
be lowered if the United States had more gun control.
More gun control would lead to fewer successful suicide attempts. Suicide attempts by other
means have a higher rate of survival because guns are instant and give the person no time to
think about what they are doing, while around 86% of attempted suicides by firearm are fatal.
Suicide by gun is most popular (21,386 out of 42,826 suicides using a gun as of March 17,
2017). A study found suicide rates in rural parts of Maryland were 35% higher than urban parts
of Maryland, which was mainly due to the number of guns available in those areas. In addition,
2 in 3 deaths by firearm are suicides. Researchers found that suicide rates in rural areas of the
country were 35% higher than suicide rates in urban areas, and the researchers said one of the
reasons why this occurs is because of how many more guns there are in those rural areas. Based
on these facts, it can be concluded that more gun control laws would lead to fewer successful
suicide attempts because if the suicidal person had to take a few days to think and devise a plan to
commit suicide

the player would need to fill a waterproof bowl with Brandy, or other flammable liquid, and place

They all try to pull out as much as they can within the small timeframe of them getting burnt.

Kkbg In America Summary
Spies: The Rise and Fall of the KGB in America is a book written by John Earl Haynes. the book
goes into very specific detail of the activity of the KGB in the United States during the 1930 s
and 1940 s. This book which was written with the KGB archives formed the most complete
source of soviet espionage in America. Co author of the book Alexander Vassiliev was given

Haynes also presented a webcast for this book through the Library of Congress. In the Webcast
Haynes spoke about the background information of his book Spies. Haynes also explained the
different sources he used to write the book, and the validity of those sources. Watching the webcast
I learned the importance of having multiple primary sources when writing a book about history. Not

Ignorance Is Eyewitness
The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that in an isolated system, there will be a natural
tendency towards a more disordered state. When things or ideas are separated from each other,
they are perceived to be organized. On the other hand, when things or ideas are all mushed
together, they are deemed unorganized. The proverb, Ignorance is bliss , represents a very orderly
state where opposites are separated. In contrast, the proverb, The truth shall set you free , signifies
a disordered state where opposites are mixed together. Therefore, according to The Second Law of
Thermodynamics, there is a natural tendency for opposites to combine. The Book of Job features
many instances of the mixing of opposites, which leads Job to see the world differently. The first
time opposites combined occurs during the very beginning of the book. Job begins with a large
amount of animals and plenty of children, however a few moments later, Job loses everything
that he had and suffers. This already changes the way Job thinks, which could be seen when Job
said, We have accepted good fortune from God, surely we can accept bad fortune too (8). Before

People Face Trade-Offs
People deal with plenty of choices in their everyday lives. At the moment we open our eyes, we
have to make decisions. For instance, should we get up and prepare ourselves for a new day, or
should we continue resting in our beds? Even after when we have made this decision, we will
still face choices after choices. However, we cannot get all the things we want as according to
Mankiw, scarcity exists in our society. In other words, scarcity means that society has limited
resources and therefore cannot produce all the goods and services people wish to have. To get one
thing that we like, we usually have to give up other things that we like. Making decisions require
trading off one goal against another. This phenomenon is also called... Show more content on

One of the trade offs that I faced before in my life is when I had to make a decision about what I
want to do after high school. If I chose to further my studies, that means I would have to give up
the chance to earn money and gain working experiences. When I made up my mind to continue
studying, I hesitated about which university to choose because there are too many choices. For
example, if I had chosen to study at local university, I would have lost the opportunity to
experience the university life in foreign country. Contrarily, if I had chosen to study abroad,
there would have been a bigger financial burden for my family. I had to make the wisest
decision as it affects my future. When government makes public policies, they have to consider
between equality and efficiency. I have noticed that our government imposes price ceiling on
some necessities such as eggs and bread. This may improve the equality, as everyone can buy
eggs at the same price. However, it is inefficient because suppliers would produce less eggs since
they cannot get a higher price. In this case, they have to ration limited resources to produce the
right number of eggs. Nevertheless, I agree with Mankiw that recognizing that people face trade
offs does not by itself tell us what decisions they will or should make (p.5). In conclusion, there is
not no such thing as a free lunch , I believe that life is all about trade offs. By

Master Harold
Whenever someone thinks of love or romance it usually involves some type of rose, but did you
know that different colors of roses have different meanings or symbols. For example, yellow roses
symbolize friendship. While the red rose is a classic symbol for love and romance. Almost
anything in the world can be symbolic for something. The messages that are sent with each
representation of a symbolcan be interpreted in many different ways because everybody thinks
differently. Master Harold ... and the boys is a play filled to the brim with symbolism and can even
be found in the title itself. Although the significance behind symbols can be interpreted differently
in many cases the author has as intended purpose for it. In the play Master Harold ... Show more

It is symbolic of this because in the end of the play Hally has a couple of choices he can make. In
the end of the play, Sam says Should we try again, Hally (Fugard 62)? Sam is referring to Hally
that he wants to patch things up and hopefully repair their relationship. In the play Hally asks
how they can do that, and Sam replies Fly another kite, I suppose (Fugard 62). This is one of the
choices given to Hally at the end of the play. Also, Sam says that You know what that bench
means now, and you can leave it any time you choose (Fugard 62). This is the other choice that
he must decide on. In an interview, Athol Fugard, says that What I find I cannot lose faith and
hope in is what Sam says to Hally in the end of the play. What Sam s little moment amounts to, is
saying to this little white boy who is going to walk out after a series of very traumatic incidents:
You can choose the quality of the life you re going to live. It s absolutely your choice (Fugard
98). This symbolizes Hally s future because based on what decisions he makes they will affect
his future. Unfortunately, the author of the play leaves Hally s future as a cliffhanger in the end.
Although, Hally does say and act on his choices it is not clear if anything is resolved. Hally s
response to flying another kite is that It s still raining, Sam. You can t fly

Friar Lawrence Is Wrong Essay
Friar Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because Friar could have told
everyone that they were married and he gives Juliet the potion. This conflict could have easily
been resolved if Friar Lawrence would have been truthful. The first reason I gave you is that
Friar Lawrence could have told everybody. He agreed to marry Paris and Juliet after Friar had
married Romeo and Juliet. This leads to Romeo thinking Juliet is dead and killing himself. The
two families might have understood there children s to marry each other if it was coming from
a Friar. Lawrence could have also told Paris to not marry Juliet when Paris was talking to him. I
married them; and there stol n marriage day Act V Scene III Line 233. At the end of the story
Friar finally admits that he married the two, and he was wrong for doing so. The second reason is
that Friar shouldn t have given Juliet the potion. Giving Juliet the potion have to many things that
could have gone wrong. Friar then tries to send a letter to Romeo, it never gets to him because of a
plague. Balthasar then gives Romeo the wrong information about Juliet. This ends up having
Romeo think Juliet is dead then killing himself, then Juliet seeing Romeo dead killed... Show more

Jean M. TwengeHave Smartphones Destroyed A Generation
The invention of the smartphone has drastically changed every part of a teenager s life, from
their social life to their mental health. These shifts have hurt young people in every part of the
nation and in every family dynamic. From the decline of social interaction with their peers, to
an increase of mental illnesses such as depression, the use of cell phones have lead to the
correlation between these epidemics. There are some positives to this situation; teens nowadays
are safer and don t go out as much, and more teens are having less sex, thus leading to lower teen
pregnancy rates. In the article, Have Smartphones Destroyed a Generation, Jean M. Twenge
effectively argues that smartphones have had a negative impact on teen s social lives by making
them more prone to being antisocial; however, she is incorrect when she argues that smartphones
have a negative impact on mental health and independency because correlation does not equal
causation. The fact that teens of this generation are being more antisocial than in the past is
vividly shown throughout society. This claim is mainly stated while Twenge is talking to a 13
year old girl named Athena. Much like any other average American teenage girl, Athena enjoys
pastimes such as watching Netflix, going to the mall with friends, browsing the internet, and
much more. Although these all sound like fun things to do, they all have one thing in common:
teens are not spending quality time with anyone while doing these activities. Now, going to the
mall does require you being with someone face to face, but the majority of the time that teens
spend with each other is on their phone. They re usually on some social media app, capturing
the entire event of being together, or they re talking to other people that are not there instead of
speaking to people face to face. As Athena states, I think we like our phones more than we like
actual people (pg.2). This rings true to prove the fact that to some teens, there is no need to
wonder outside of their comfortable beds to socialize; their friends are just one quick text,
Snapchat, or phone call away. The more we stay in our bed on our phones, the more we will want
to spend time alone than with other people, which can

Tanning Case Study
In the article, Many Colleges Have Tanning Salons on or Near Campus; Some Accept Campus
Cash, Health Magazine is arguing that even though tanning has been proven to increase the
chances of cancer, colleges are promoting tanning. The tanning services being offered are often
found on or near college campus s. While this may passively reinforce tanning and harmful nature,
as a salon business owner I would put aside the unethical choices, and make decisions in what is
best for marketing choices. As I see it promoting this near campus tanning salon movement and
using demographic techniques can affect the salon marketing industry in both good and bad ways.
Even though I may not agree with teenage tanning, I feel that by using this marketing tactic the
sales forecast will plummet. By providing campus cash services, the business owner will be able
to increase the chances of the students entering the salon. Many college students can not afford to
pay for extra tanning costs, however if they are able to use campus cash they will more likely to
use tanning facilities. This movement promotes marketers and business owners into wanting to
open a salon near a college campus. If the business owner comes to an agreement with the nearest...

Milton’s Paradise Lost Essay examples
Milton s Paradise Lost has been praised as being the greatest English epic of all time, most
stunningly in its author s depiction of the parents of humanity, Adam and Eve. How Milton chose to
portray the original mother and father has been a focus of much criticism with contemporary
readers. One of the main subjectsof these comments is in reference to Eve, who, according to
many, is a trivial character that is most definitely inferior to her mate. Nonetheless, many do not
recognize that, after the fateful Fall, she becomes a much more evolved character. When Eve is
introduced to the storyline of the epic, her character is shallow and extremely undeveloped, meant
simply for display. She is quite firmly set as being inferior to her mate... Show more content on

He does this because the scene happens in the past and therefore he uses her to discuss it rather
than confusing the reader with a flashback type scene. He also has Eve relate what happened to
prove that Eve must indeed be beautiful if she herself was taken by her looks as she discusses how
she pined with vain desire (IV, 466) for the image of her reflection. In fact, Eve s beauty is
discussed repeatedly. For example, when Satan first sees the human couple, he is overtaken by
Eve s beauty and submissive charms (IV, 498). Milton even goes so far to stress her beauty and
charms as to have her stun Satan himself with it. Actually, as Satan is on his mission to seduce Eve
into eating the apple, her beauty overtakes him.
If chance with nymphlike step fair virgin pass, What pleasing seemed, for her now pleases more,
She most, and in her looks sums all delight; Such pleasure took the Serpent to behold This
flowery plant, the sweet recess of Eve Thus early, thus alone; her heavenly form Angelic, but more
soft and feminine, Her graceful innocence, her every air Of gesture or least action, overawed His
malice, and with rapine sweet bereaved

Introduction
The second amendment of United States constitution said A well regulated militia, being necessary
to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed .
This amendment was embraced on December 15, 1791, taking in consideration that American
citizens have a natural right to self defense and they can help to accomplish the following purposes:
Permitting the people to organize a militia system
Contributing in law enforcement
Deterring tyrannical government

Nowadays it is not necessary that us citizens pursuit these purposes because some of them are
obsolete, the militia disappear long time ago and there are governmental organizations and
departments which are in charge to accomplish the available purposes and guaranty the security of
us citizens. Navy, Army and FBI lookout for the national security and Police and Firemen

Anesthesia Essay examples
Anesthesia was developed in order to block or prevent pain during medical procedures. Anesthesia
has been the backbone of the medical world for around 100 years now. Early anesthetics were
primitive and many patients simply did not trust anesthetics. Anesthesia is still a risky process even
in todays advanced medical world. Anesthesiais not used to treat or diagnose any specific disease;
the sole purpose is to aid both the patient and surgeon through procedures. However, anesthesia is
used in different ways based on the magnitude of the procedure. There are three levels of anesthesia
which include; local, regional, and general anesthesia. An anesthesiologist determines which type of
anesthesia will be needed. Local anesthesia... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For regional anesthesia, a local anesthetic will be injected into a nerve.[1] The anesthetic will then
affect a series of nerves. The anesthetic blocks pain by interrupting nerve transmissions, also known
as action potentials.[3] Action potentials occur at a constant rate within the body. Action potentials
occur between nerve cells and all the body to feel pain. A nerve cell has a negative charge at a
resting state due to negatively charged proteins within the cell.[3] Although the inside of the cell
contains positively charged potassium ions as well, overall the charge is still negative. Along with
potassium on the inside of the cell, positively charged sodium ions are located around the exterior
of the cell.[3] When an action potential occurs, the cell becomes even more negatively charged. In
turn, this causes sodium transport molecules in the membrane of the cell to open.[3] Sodium will
then enter the cell during active transport. The positively charged sodium will cancel out the
negatively charged active potential which will depolarize the cell. This allows neurotransmitters to
transfer from cell to cell.[3] These neurotransmitters are what allows the body to feel pain. Local
anesthetics work by diffusing through nerve fibers. Once they ve reached the cells, they block the
sodium transport molecules in the cell.[2] Therefore neurotransmitters cannot transfer information
from cell to cell and the feeling of

Ferrara by Robert Browning, Porphyria s Lover by Robert Browning and La Belle Dame Sans

poems and how the poets show it.
In Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess it appears that the men have the power whereas in La
Belle Dame Sans Merci the woman has the power. In Porphyrias Lover the only way the man feels
he has power over Porphyria is by killing her. So by feeling that this is his only alternative, she has

The Duke is going on and on and we only have one point of view. He is controlling what the
audience perceive the characters as. Browning uses enjambment to make the rhyming couplets
flow better in order to make the speech of the Duke more realistic. The easiness of the speech
and the fact that it is flowing, shows that the Duke seems to have rehearsed everything that he is
now saying to the agent. So he has had to think about what to say and wants to be able to
manipulate the agent into taking his side and, indeed, wants to have control over the agent s
opinion of both him and his last Duchess. The duke s loss of control is also depicted through the
rhythm of the poem. The enjambment in the poem reveals that the Duke is almost at ease with
his wife s murder, because it is so flowing and he doesn t get upset and almost doesn t have to
stop. Except for once; this is shown by the use of caesura, however as he only stutters once it
seems as if he is just doing it for show. Near the end of the poem, the duke loses control. You can
imagine the horrified agent rising to go and the duke s uneasiness as he loses control, and his
desire to regain control of the situation as he says, Nay we ll go down together, sir There is a
caesura between Nay and we ll which shows the Duke does not want to lose control but then has to
pause as he thinks of a reasonable explanation for him saying Nay to the agent leaving without him.

Camp Glen Arden Ethnography Analysis
Summer camp is a tradition that the women in my family have participated in since my mom
was a little girl. In the mountains of North Carolina lies a very special place to me, my mom and
my little sister. This place is called Camp Glen Arden and it is my home away from home. There
are many special traditions within Camp Glen Arden, so that is why I chose it to be the topic of
my ethnography. To start, for the nine years I ve attended camp there hasn t been any change,
maybe the food but that s it. Since I m on the topic of food, every camper and staff member wears
navy collared shirts and navy shorts to dinner. The collared shirts are worn so that we can wearour

winner is announced when the camp director unrolls a banner with the colors of the clan who
won. My camp has a special way of demonstrating reciprocity. We celebrate Christmas in July by
drawing names out of a bowl that includes anyone that is part of camp, including the directors and
kitchen staff. Once you get the name, you make them a very special and personal gift to give to
them Christmas morning . The type of reciprocity demonstrated is generalized because once the
gift is given, the giver doesn t expect anything back except for a hug and a thank you. These
moments are so full of kindness and are really great to watch because they demonstrate the caring

of Medicine, Cornell University: Weill College of Medicine, Harvard College of Medicine and

and the College s accepted rates, the critical value on the distribution was found to be 16.919,
because the alpha was not given so since it was not stated so assume it to be 0.05 and the degrees

Hip Hop Culture And Culture
How the Hip Hop Culture Separates But Comes Together The Hip Hop culture itself varies with
individualism and collectivism, along with the power distance experienced with artists collectively
starting joint ventures together as well as having polychronic opportunities but having the same
monochronic idea, which is make money. This cultural began collectively on empowerment. Artists
in this culture use their platform to promote their individuality whether it is good positive rap or

empowerment but separates through artist s identity of individuality.
Cultural Identities/ Organizing Public and Private Environment
The Hip Hop Culture is collectively huge. However, if you break it down to subgenre culture it
changes drastically. The Hip Hop Culture once started as an expressions of one s life in poverty,
the hood, or the ghetto. When this culture began it became a movement, a more positive one
before gangsta rap hit the scene. East Coast rappers such as Mos Def, A Tribe Call Quest, Goodie

The Field Of Mental Health Counseling
Introduction
Burnout in the field of Mental Health Counseling is a serious concern for everyone involved,
whether the person is just beginning their journey, or if they are a seasoned veteran with years
of experience. Unless, the person has a prevention plan in place and adds it into their busy
schedule and does not stray from their commitment of their self care program. It is easy when
we get busy to skip a day here and there and the next thing you know we have not taken care of
ourselves for a month or longer. Once we permit ourselves to neglect our self care program the
symptoms of burnout and begin to develop very quickly. Personally, I believe with a good self
care program, it is easier to circumvent burnout, then it is to overcome it once you are in its grips.
Here are some of the things I implement into my schedule to help myself from becoming burnt out.
Personal Care Mentally, Physically, Emotionally
As a student pursuing a career in the field of Mental Health Counseling, while I was attending
classes in my undergraduate program self care was a regular topic that was brought up. Over half
of the professors would stress the seriousness of burnout and the need to begin a self care program
while still a student. Fortunately, prior to entering college, I unknowingly began a self care
program, a few times a week I participate in 12 step meetings. At the meetings, I have several close
friends that I can talk to in confidence about anything, that helps me get

Character Strength in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich is a novel about survival.
Solzhenitsyn shows us how even in seemingly atrocious circumstances each person can find
sources of strength that gives them the will to carry on. Many of the things that the prisoners think

we would perhaps lose the will to carry on.
Most of the prisoners have more than one source of strength, perhaps subconsciously they have
made their own fail safes. If they lost one source, they would have other more personal reasons to

of the novel Shukhov gives away a biscuit to Alyosha and expects nothing in return. This shows
that he has taken Alyosha s advice and has chosen to feel spiritual accomplishment rather than
keeping the material good. Property is another source of strength in the novel. Possessing
something that other prisoners do not have is a way of showing individuality in a place where
all the prisoners are marked as the same, ignoring what they have or have not done. Shukhov s
spoon is also very symbolic. Shukhov is forced to hide the spoon in order to keep it from being
taken by the guards. In a way this shows us how the camp tries to take away anything that gives the
prisoners a sense of individuality, or anything that gives them happiness.

The Affects of Duchenne Muscular Distrophy
The affects of Duchenne muscular dystrophy as well as various solutions performed to provide
accurate diagnoses and treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
1.Introduction
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is defined as a chronic form of dystrophy that is caused by a
mutated gene. This essay critically discusses Duchenne muscular dystrophy as a whole, including all
the symptoms, causes as well as treatment.
2.Overview of Duchenne muscular dystrophy
Duchenne muscular dystrophy was discovered by a French neurologist, Guillaume Duchenne.
According to Emery (1994 : 23) Guillaume Duchenne invented an instrument, Duchenne s trocar, to
remove small portions of tissue in the body (biopsy).
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a gender linked inherited disorder. To illustrate, males only have
one X chromosome, therefore they do not have a second X chromosome to make up for the
damaged gene. Females can only become carriers of the disease, as females have a second X
chromosomes to make up for the damaged gene.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/19097.htm
According to Green (2014) the (DMD) gene for dystrophin, which is a protein that is present in
muscles, is the second largest gene. A deficiency of dystrophin results in the damage of muscle
fibres, resulting in a loss of muscle functioning. This disorder affects mainly the legs and pelvic
region of the body. However it could also affect the heart, the respiratory system, as well as rarely
the brain. Duchenne

Alberta Oil Sands Research Paper
Works Cited
Environment, Alberta. Alberta s Oil Sands. Opportunity. Balance. Edmonton, AB: Dept. of
Environment, 2008. Print.
This publication from the Government of Alberta s Department of Energy tries to focus on an all
around view of the oil sands. It talks about what they are, how they work, and environmental
problems and solutions. The publication is not nearly as current as some other sources, it was
published late 2008. It is free from bias but tries to stay overly optimistic, something is a challenge
not an environmental concern. Since it is a government source it is mostly objective but does try
to keep the oil sands in a positive view, possibly to benefit our economy. The publication is factual,
accurate, and has a limited bias ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gives a brief introduction into the oil sands then jumps right into its main topic, covering the
environmental effects of mining, carbon emissions, water use and tailings of the oil sands. This
article is an effective contrast to the government publications. The government publications try to
stay as objective as possible but often are biased by omission, and don t always give a clear
picture. This article is similar, but fights for the other side. The government publications tend to
paint the oil sands in a positive light, this tries to paint it in a negative light. The article was
written by Simon Dyer, a big name in the oil industry. He is a former director (and current regional
director) of the Pembina Institute. They believe that the oil sands has many problems which need
to be addressed, but that, through improvements in the laws and technologies of the oil sands that
can be accomplished. Simon Dyer is an experienced and reliable source and

A Look Into Moonshining
A Look into moonshine Hooch, white lightning, mountain dew, moonshine, etc, they are all names
for the illeagally made liquor brewed in the mid Atlantic and southern rural regions of US. The
idea of making moonshine came about because the government put such high taxes on liquor it
was more cost effective just for the citizens to make their own. There are many variations of the
liquor, and just about anything can be thrown into the mix. The styles of making the liquor and the
taste change with each region you go even though the makers use practically the same ingredients
and the same base of producing the product. The making of illegal liquor has been around the US

The carbon dioxide is lost to the environment and what is left is a wine like drink with fairly low
alcohol content, between 6 20%. The strength of the mash is determined by the yeast used and
the sugar content (higher sugar higher alcohol content). From there the shiners (makers of
moonshine) will use a process of distillation to separate the alcohol from the mash to make the
product more potent. In distillation the fermented mash is heated to evaporated the Ethyl
alcohol which evaporats at 173 degrees farenheight. The vapor is then in a cold tube and comes
out more potent. The reason it becomes more potent is because the alcohol that is produced in
the mash is being condensed into a smaller size with the same amount of alcohol. The stuff that
comes out can be anywhere from 50 99% depending on how well it is made. Distilation may be
the only way to produce a strong finished product there are serious dangers that the process brings.
First, there is a dangerous chemical in the mash that is produced, and boils at a lower temperature
than ethyl alcohol, methanol. Although methanol is an alcohol, it is not the good kind and is the
reason people would go blind from drinking it. Methanol boils at 143 degrees farenheight and is
usually the first to start flowing, so the first few gallons are discarded. Another important danger is
because during distillation there is an open flame and

talking about how she will be the first in her family to go to college, the tone is excited. Throughout
the book, the tone is mostly reflective, because the authors are reflecting on their past choices.

Should Performance Enhancing Drugs Be Allowed In Sports Essay
When starting my research on the use of performance enhancing drugs in sports I thought that I
knew everything. Through this research, I have read a lot of information on if performance
enhancing drugs could be allowed or not in sports. The research that I did was very informative
for me. I got to learn all the Pros and Cons of performance enhancing drugs. The research allowed
me to pick 6 people who made valid points for each side of the argument. Should performance
enhancing drugs be allowed in sports, by Thomas H. Murray. Thomas Murray was President of
the Hastings Center from 1999 to 2012. He is also involved in the World Anti Doping Agency and
a former member of the Sports Medicine Committee. Thomas Murray is against the use of
performance enhancing drugs in sports. According to Thomas Murray, performance enhancing
drugs in sports can have the potential to cause a public health catastrophe. People should realize
Steroids and stimulants have caused problems in the Olympics for decades (Murray). With the use
performance enhancing drugs being so widespread the Tour de France nearly collapsed. It not only
is widespread in cycling, but also in baseball and many other sports. The argument is that what one
athlete chooses to do can affect everyone in that competition (Murray). Professional athletes are role

Mary Barton Industrial Revolution
Gaskell wrote her first novel, Mary Barton, in 1848 at a time that was full of changes and
controversies, and that was reflected in it. Those who read Mary Barton for the first time can see
the changes in the novel and how it echoes the age that the novel was written in. Gaskell wrote
Mary Barton as a representation of society at that time which was characterized by a change in
people s life because of the Industrial Revolution. The Revolution brought not only class division
but also genderdivision. This life is the life that Gaskell lived and can be seen in her works.
Characters in Gaskell s novelare represented as real characters speaking everyday language which
makes Mary Baron real and a mirror of the Victorian age. Women have been treated differently
from a writer to another, a culture to another, and from an age to another. Gaskell sympathizes with
women in general and with fallen women in particular. She also presents them as victims. This
industrial novel is an image of the suffering of working class women, since even most of factory...

is typical of most early stage companies. However, each quarter thereafter we were able to maintain
a profit, ending with $18,270,122 gross profit and $15,232,910 operating profit. Our six computer

target market of Workhorse. The generous rebates were attractive to the target audience, and
allowed for the introduction of The Horseboard, The Superboard, and The Toddlerboard. By
Quarter 6, a total of 60 sales people had been employed, and due to the overall low prices of the
products, as well as the rebates, Orange gained a 2 percent% market share.
Financial Performance: Throughout these first phases of our company, Orange has created a
positive financial pattern. While we implemented an aggressive growth strategy and expanded our

Examples Of Deception In Myrrha And Cinyras
Name: Kamine Deonarine
Professor: Harold Ramdass
Class: Great Works Literature 1
Deception, Good or Bad Myrrha and Cinyras a Greek tale written by the Roman poet Ovid, depict
the ways in which a deceitful act was carried out by Myrrha and her accomplice, the nurse to
deceive her father, the King, in getting him to satisfy her insatiable desires. Another form of
deception occurred in Jacob and Esau from the Hebrew Bible, where Rebekah plotted against her
older son, Esau, to accommodate her younger and favorite son, Jacob to receive a blessing that
was not intended for him. Both Isaac and Cinyras were deceived by their kin to fulfill their
desires, however the nature of deception in Myrrha and Cinyras , deception is seen as an ... Show

He then says Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of the fields that the Lord had blessed
(Genesis 27:27). This statement shows that Isaac knows it is Jacob, because it was not
applicable to Esau since he was a hunter, while it was Jacob who worked the fields. A similar
occurrence can be seen in Myrrha and Cinyras , where the first night Myrrha disguises her identity
and Cinyras addresses her by calling her daughter (ln 561 563). This simplifies that both Isaac and
Cinyras has some sort of knowledge of the deception that

Real-Time Analysis
Solution to the Problem An innovative solution to combat this issue is to have real time
monitoring for athletes deemed high risk. This may be done by creating a synthetic shirt, which
is currently worn by many athletes during activity already, that has three EKG leads and a
telemetry unit built in the material. It would be imperative to have the leads, wires, and telemetry
streamlined to reduce bulkiness, especially since the device would be worn under pads in sports
like football and hockey. A second step would be to develop a smart phone application that can
wirelessly monitor each player s cardiac rhythm by a trained sideline medical professional. This
application would have real time analysis monitoring for a concerning rhythm that... Show more

Historically, when SCA does occur, the most successful outcomes happen when there is early
implementation of defibrillation attempts and advanced cardiac life support, including advanced
airways, cardiac stimulating medications, and post cardiac arrest hypothermia protocols (Piper
Stainsby, 2013). In other words, there is only a short window of opportunity to initiate life saving
measures before irreversible damage occurs to the cardiac muscle.
Additionally, having the telemedicine option provides immediate medical consultation in areas
where resources are limited. Often, best practice methods take time to be adopted due to skepticism
of the change, with rural areas traditionally lagging the most. The telemedicine provider can be
trained based on the latest research, essentially bringing the top experts to the scene of the event.
The biggest disadvantage would be the large monetary costs of the start up. Research and
development of the EKG shirt and of the smart phone application, distribution of the product, hiring
telemedicine providers, and implementing an effective marketing campaign are some of the
obvious major costs. One could argue that the relatively low estimated incidence rate would not
justify the overall monetary cost. Unfortunately, the costs would project past the

Justice Of God By Ayatullah Naser Makarer
Within Justice of God by Ayatullah Naser Makarer Shirazi, the Justice of God is analyzed
through many subtopics of philosophies which all connect back to Allah s attribute of being Adl
or Just. Justice has two meanings that differ throughout the span of the book. The first one is to
put everything in its place which in other words means to balance and create symmetry between
everything. The second definition is following individual rights which means everyone deserves
to be treated equally and the opposite of that would be to take away their rights and only allow a
sole group those rights. Now the significance of God s Justiceis neither to remove all the rights or
give all the rights to one group that s discriminated against others.... Show more content on

Their are many sources of oppression and how it starts. These include ignorance, need, inability,
and selfishness. Sometimes the oppressor is ignorant of what he is doing and in truth does not
know what they are doing. Another one is that if the oppressor has to commit this act in order to
attain something that someone else has which results in oppression, but if he was self sufficient
they would have no need to commit oppression. Inability is when someone is not willing to have
the rights of another taken but can t do anything about it, so he has to commit oppression.
Selfishness is when someone is bearing a grudge against a group of people like seeking revenge so
they commit oppression against that group of people. These are the many reasons why oppression
occurs within this world.
One philosophy discussed are natural calamities such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis
which happen all over the world and are used to prove that Gods s Justice did not exist. They
also used natural disasters to prove that God doesn t exist. Another philosophy which is examined
in this publication is the difficulties faced in life and how the justice of God justifies them. For
example, war is terrible and tears apart lives but sometimes a difficult and long war causes a
nation to blossom and become united due to that difficulty. If we analyze the lives of the most
successful people in this world, behind them we will see many failures

ScotchВ® Tapes, Scotch BriteВ® and Commandв„ў.In this report, we will be focusing on the
brand Commandв„ў.We aim to address the problem of the erosion of Commandв„ў s competitive
advantage in its increasingly competitive industry by providing improved/new BTL strategies
which Command can undertake.
Based on our survey, there are 2 interesting findings which we aim to tackle through our
recommendations. The first of which is that consumers could not differentiate Commandв„ў from

Martin Luther King Rhetorical Analysis
Entitled Hierarchy We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to
do right, petitioned Nelson Mandela. Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. knew the essence of time in
Birmingham Alabama, 1963. He brought to his audience ideals of abolishing segregation that
thrived in the South and proactively sought to make change. Using a library of rhetorical
devices, such as allusions, pathos, and similes, King connected his reader to the things he had to
address. King felt it very vital to address the wrongdoing s of the prejudice South. In so, he
makes a lot of allusions to religious ideals, to connect these people with their religious
wrongdoing. With religious allusions, Doctor king was able to put a new take on segregation. In
paragraph 3, he timed this phrase, Injustice anywhere is a threat to injustice everywhere. Making
the point, just because in one part of the country there is racism, segregation, prejudice, etc., this
could lead to something much worse: Segregation everywhere. Stopping the prejudice now could
make a positive impact on future generations, which king petitioned and managed to do. In
paragraph 3, king dedicates the entire paragraph to comparing himself to the apostles, carrying
the word of God. He uses this to not only compare himself to these prophets, but to show he too
will carry his word. King s word is not only of God, but to abolish the old prejudice and
segregation of the South; also to go at any length to fulfill this dream. In

To do this, they operate themselves by implementing and executing an array of growth strategies. The first strategy that Domino s executes on is concentration strategy. This strategy consists of a basic principle in which a business or company does one thing and does this one task very well. There are three sub strategies underneath the concentration strategy and the first one is known as product development. The product development strategy means that a company sells a new product in the same market. Domino s is using the product development strategy by selling new types of pizza, the thin crust and deep dish, along with the pasta bowls, chicken wings, and deserts to the same market of pizza consumers. This strategy allows Domino s to diversify and strengthen their menu while appealing to a larger market of people that not only enjoy eating pizza but also other entrГ©e s that Domino s has implemented into their menu. Where do you see yourself in 4 years? How would you react if you were told you had been chosen as king or queen of England? • 5. The Lost Son Poem Analysis Theodore Roethke s The Lost Son : Theme of Death Theodore Roethke s 1948 The Lost Son is perhaps one of his best known poems. It is composed of five sections, which highlight a period or periods of great sadness for the speaker. From the beginning, it seems that the speaker is also the author. The five sections are The Flight, The Pit, The Gibber, The Return, and It was beginning winter. Roethke s work is a journey of sorts as the author indulges the audience in his emotions that reveal his desolation and sorrow. Eventually, the speaker concludes his extended disposition, and it is apparent that his griefs are far from over. However, he can only hopefor a brighter future. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the poem and highlight the theme of death expressed by the author. The first part of the poem, The Flight, is laced with sadness. It reveals the author s feelings about the loss of identity as well as the anxiety surrounding death. Roethke starts by referring to Woodlawn cemetery. This, in turn, sets the stage for what is an eerie and frightening narration. He portrays not just fear but terrible fear. Perhaps the term flight is metaphorical to mean traveling to another world; a spiritual realm. Woodlawn sets the stage for death. This is where the speaker dies and takes the infamous trip. At first instance, he presents himself as dead waiting to be consumed by worms or trodden over by snails. However, a further reading of the poem reveals that it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Original Writing Of The Phantomhive Manor Some say that living in the Phantomhive Manor would be dull and boring. You didn t think so. On the contrary, there were things that occurred that made it quite amusing to live on the large estate. One was the constant misfortunes that befell the servants, such as the breaking of a substantial amount of dishes, or the accidental killing of an entire garden. These events were the result of the servants own clumsiness, and in part, foolishness; it made the Phantomhive Manor so much more lively and humorous than it would be without them. One more thing that amused you at the manor was the head butler, Sebastian. However, when you slipped into his house, you were quickly met with Sebastian s weapons and fled from the manor. Under his master s orders, Sebastian practically chased you across the city, wanting answers as to why you had been in the process of sneaking into the Phantomhive Manor. After that incident, Sebastian made you apologize to his master, although you were rather annoyed about having to in the first place. For some reason, you kept visiting time after time, and Earl Phantomhive, who was now your master as well, had made you a part of his staff after learning how long you had managed to stay out of Sebastian s reach. Your job, more or less, was that of a maid, and trying to help the other servants stay out of trouble. It wasn t that bad of a life, and you enjoyed it more than scouring the streets for a poor soul who happened to venture upon you. • 11. Supreme Court Decision-Making Segal, Timpone and Howard s article Buyer Beware? (2000) draws upon existing research into the appointment of Supreme Court justices by seeking to empirically prove Robert Dahl s 1957 theory that a justice s voting typically reflects the policy preferences of the president who appointed them, thereby allowing presidents to achieve their policy goals even after leaving office (pp. 557 558). The authors clarify this by stating that in the event of a clear correlation, concordance should not be considered synonymous with responsiveness. Put simply, the research is not proposing that Supreme Court justices are directly influenced by the decisions of the president who appoints them, but merely that the president and appointee share the same political... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Hulbary and Walker note in The Supreme Court Selection Process (1980), presidents may consider a range of factors when selecting their desired justice, such as age, race, religion and the likelihood of the nomination gaining the Senate s approval. Thus, it would be reductive to conclude from Segal, Timpone and Howard s research that shared policy preferences are the primary goal of a nominating president in all cases. The authors rightfully acknowledge this by highlighting Dwight Eisenhower s nomination of William J. Brennan, a justice far more liberal than his appointer who is widely believed to have been chosen as a concession to northern liberals before the 1956 election (pp. 569 570). A more recent example of this trend would be the 2016 nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court by Barack Obama. While it is unlikely that the centrist Garland would have been Obama s first choice to fill the vacant seat left by Antonin Scalia, he may now represent the least worst scenario, insofar as he stands a small chance of being approved by an obstructionist Republican Senate. If this occurs, it would surely be treated as a victory by the current White House administration. As such, it is important not to automatically conflate ideological differences between president and justice with a failed appointment, a trap that the article occasionally falls into (p. ... • 13. Pros And Cons Of Stricter Gun Control Laws The United States needs stricter federal handgun control laws because stricter gun control laws would reduce the number of handgun deaths and injuries, more gun control laws would lead to fewer suicides, banning high capacity magazines would prevent mass shootings and murders, stricter gun control laws have worked in other countries by leading to lower homicideand suicide rates than the United States, and guns are rarely used in self defense and they do not decrease crime rates. Stricter gun control laws would reduce the number of handgun deaths and injuries in the United States per year. There were 464,033 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2013: 58% were suicides, 38% were homicides, 2% were unintentional deaths. 67% of all homicides were committed with guns, and 52% of all suicides were committed with guns. According to a March 10, 2016 Lancet study, implementing federal universal background checks could reduce firearm deaths by a predicted 60%, background checks for ammunition purchases could reduce deaths by a predicted 81%, and gun ID requirements could reduce deaths by a predicted 83%. All these statistics could be lowered if the United States had more gun control. More gun control would lead to fewer successful suicide attempts. Suicide attempts by other means have a higher rate of survival because guns are instant and give the person no time to think about what they are doing, while around 86% of attempted suicides by firearm are fatal. Suicide by gun is most popular (21,386 out of 42,826 suicides using a gun as of March 17, 2017). A study found suicide rates in rural parts of Maryland were 35% higher than urban parts of Maryland, which was mainly due to the number of guns available in those areas. In addition, 2 in 3 deaths by firearm are suicides. Researchers found that suicide rates in rural areas of the country were 35% higher than suicide rates in urban areas, and the researchers said one of the reasons why this occurs is because of how many more guns there are in those rural areas. Based on these facts, it can be concluded that more gun control laws would lead to fewer successful suicide attempts because if the suicidal person had to take a few days to think and devise a plan to commit suicide ... When each player has taken their turn to pull objects out of the flaming bowl, they will then proceed to count how many of the miscellaneous pieces of food are in their hand. When done counting, each player will go around stating how many of the various pieces of food are in their hand, tracking of scores if required. When each player is done counting, and the winner is determined, then it s said to be that whoever the winner is, will be the first to have a partner in marriage. This is a dangerous and unsafe game, but nonetheless, a somewhat fun and enjoyable game, as long as none is hurt or burned during the competition. With having the added twist of fire and marriage, this will invoke the attention of hopefully older players, and pass the time by, or to just have fun at a family ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kkbg In America Summary Spies: The Rise and Fall of the KGB in America is a book written by John Earl Haynes. the book goes into very specific detail of the activity of the KGB in the United States during the 1930 s and 1940 s. This book which was written with the KGB archives formed the most complete source of soviet espionage in America. Co author of the book Alexander Vassiliev was given access to stalin era records and material of Soviet espionage activity against the United States. Haynes also presented a webcast for this book through the Library of Congress. In the Webcast Haynes spoke about the background information of his book Spies. Haynes also explained the different sources he used to write the book, and the validity of those sources. Watching the webcast I learned the importance of having multiple primary sources when writing a book about history. • 16. Ignorance Is Eyewitness The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that in an isolated system, there will be a natural tendency towards a more disordered state. When things or ideas are separated from each other, they are perceived to be organized. On the other hand, when things or ideas are all mushed together, they are deemed unorganized. The proverb, Ignorance is bliss , represents a very orderly state where opposites are separated. In contrast, the proverb, The truth shall set you free , signifies a disordered state where opposites are mixed together. Therefore, according to The Second Law of Thermodynamics, there is a natural tendency for opposites to combine. The Book of Job features many instances of the mixing of opposites, which leads Job to see the world differently. The first time opposites combined occurs during the very beginning of the book. Job begins with a large amount of animals and plenty of children, however a few moments later, Job loses everything that he had and suffers. This already changes the way Job thinks, which could be seen when Job said, We have accepted good fortune from God, surely we can accept bad fortune too (8). • 18. People Face Trade-Offs People deal with plenty of choices in their everyday lives. At the moment we open our eyes, we have to make decisions. For instance, should we get up and prepare ourselves for a new day, or should we continue resting in our beds? Even after when we have made this decision, we will still face choices after choices. However, we cannot get all the things we want as according to Mankiw, scarcity exists in our society. In other words, scarcity means that society has limited resources and therefore cannot produce all the goods and services people wish to have. To get one thing that we like, we usually have to give up other things that we like. Making decisions require trading off one goal against another. This phenomenon is also called... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the trade offs that I faced before in my life is when I had to make a decision about what I want to do after high school. If I chose to further my studies, that means I would have to give up the chance to earn money and gain working experiences. When I made up my mind to continue studying, I hesitated about which university to choose because there are too many choices. For example, if I had chosen to study at local university, I would have lost the opportunity to experience the university life in foreign country. Contrarily, if I had chosen to study abroad, there would have been a bigger financial burden for my family. I had to make the wisest decision as it affects my future. When government makes public policies, they have to consider between equality and efficiency. I have noticed that our government imposes price ceiling on some necessities such as eggs and bread. This may improve the equality, as everyone can buy eggs at the same price. However, it is inefficient because suppliers would produce less eggs since they cannot get a higher price. In this case, they have to ration limited resources to produce the right number of eggs. Nevertheless, I agree with Mankiw that recognizing that people face trade offs does not by itself tell us what decisions they will or should make (p.5). In conclusion, there is not no such thing as a free lunch , I believe that life is all about trade offs. By ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Jean M. TwengeHave Smartphones Destroyed A Generation The invention of the smartphone has drastically changed every part of a teenager s life, from their social life to their mental health. These shifts have hurt young people in every part of the nation and in every family dynamic. From the decline of social interaction with their peers, to an increase of mental illnesses such as depression, the use of cell phones have lead to the correlation between these epidemics. There are some positives to this situation; teens nowadays are safer and don t go out as much, and more teens are having less sex, thus leading to lower teen pregnancy rates. In the article, Have Smartphones Destroyed a Generation, Jean M. Twenge effectively argues that smartphones have had a negative impact on teen s social lives by making them more prone to being antisocial; however, she is incorrect when she argues that smartphones have a negative impact on mental health and independency because correlation does not equal causation. The fact that teens of this generation are being more antisocial than in the past is vividly shown throughout society. This claim is mainly stated while Twenge is talking to a 13 year old girl named Athena. Much like any other average American teenage girl, Athena enjoys pastimes such as watching Netflix, going to the mall with friends, browsing the internet, and much more. Although these all sound like fun things to do, they all have one thing in common: teens are not spending quality time with anyone while doing these activities. Now, going to the mall does require you being with someone face to face, but the majority of the time that teens spend with each other is on their phone. They re usually on some social media app, capturing the entire event of being together, or they re talking to other people that are not there instead of speaking to people face to face. As Athena states, I think we like our phones more than we like actual people (pg.2). This rings true to prove the fact that to some teens, there is no need to wonder outside of their comfortable beds to socialize; their friends are just one quick text, Snapchat, or phone call away. The more we stay in our bed on our phones, the more we will want to spend time alone than with other people, which can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The tanning services being offered are often found on or near college campus s. While this may passively reinforce tanning and harmful nature, as a salon business owner I would put aside the unethical choices, and make decisions in what is best for marketing choices. As I see it promoting this near campus tanning salon movement and using demographic techniques can affect the salon marketing industry in both good and bad ways. Even though I may not agree with teenage tanning, I feel that by using this marketing tactic the sales forecast will plummet. By providing campus cash services, the business owner will be able to increase the chances of the students entering the salon. • 26. Milton’s Paradise Lost Essay examples Milton s Paradise Lost has been praised as being the greatest English epic of all time, most stunningly in its author s depiction of the parents of humanity, Adam and Eve. How Milton chose to portray the original mother and father has been a focus of much criticism with contemporary readers. One of the main subjectsof these comments is in reference to Eve, who, according to many, is a trivial character that is most definitely inferior to her mate. Nonetheless, many do not recognize that, after the fateful Fall, she becomes a much more evolved character. When Eve is introduced to the storyline of the epic, her character is shallow and extremely undeveloped, meant simply for display. She is quite firmly set as being inferior to her mate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He does this because the scene happens in the past and therefore he uses her to discuss it rather than confusing the reader with a flashback type scene. He also has Eve relate what happened to prove that Eve must indeed be beautiful if she herself was taken by her looks as she discusses how she pined with vain desire (IV, 466) for the image of her reflection. In fact, Eve s beauty is discussed repeatedly. For example, when Satan first sees the human couple, he is overtaken by Eve s beauty and submissive charms (IV, 498). Milton even goes so far to stress her beauty and charms as to have her stun Satan himself with it. Actually, as Satan is on his mission to seduce Eve into eating the apple, her beauty overtakes him. If chance with nymphlike step fair virgin pass, What pleasing seemed, for her now pleases more, She most, and in her looks sums all delight; Such pleasure took the Serpent to behold This flowery plant, the sweet recess of Eve Thus early, thus alone; her heavenly form Angelic, but more soft and feminine, Her graceful innocence, her every air Of gesture or least action, overawed His malice, and with rapine sweet bereaved His fierceness of the fierce intent it brought. For regional anesthesia, a local anesthetic will be injected into a nerve.[1] The anesthetic will then affect a series of nerves. The anesthetic blocks pain by interrupting nerve transmissions, also known as action potentials.[3] Action potentials occur at a constant rate within the body. Action potentials occur between nerve cells and all the body to feel pain. A nerve cell has a negative charge at a resting state due to negatively charged proteins within the cell.[3] Although the inside of the cell contains positively charged potassium ions as well, overall the charge is still negative. Along with potassium on the inside of the cell, positively charged sodium ions are located around the exterior of the cell.[3] When an action potential occurs, the cell becomes even more negatively charged. In turn, this causes sodium transport molecules in the membrane of the cell to open.[3] Sodium will then enter the cell during active transport. The positively charged sodium will cancel out the negatively charged active potential which will depolarize the cell. This allows neurotransmitters to transfer from cell to cell.[3] These neurotransmitters are what allows the body to feel pain. Local anesthetics work by diffusing through nerve fibers. Once they ve reached the cells, they block the sodium transport molecules in the cell.[2] Therefore neurotransmitters cannot transfer information from cell to cell and the feeling of ... He is controlling what the audience perceive the characters as. Browning uses enjambment to make the rhyming couplets flow better in order to make the speech of the Duke more realistic. The easiness of the speech and the fact that it is flowing, shows that the Duke seems to have rehearsed everything that he is now saying to the agent. So he has had to think about what to say and wants to be able to manipulate the agent into taking his side and, indeed, wants to have control over the agent s opinion of both him and his last Duchess. The duke s loss of control is also depicted through the rhythm of the poem. The enjambment in the poem reveals that the Duke is almost at ease with his wife s murder, because it is so flowing and he doesn t get upset and almost doesn t have to stop. This research project was conducted using four colleges to compare their numbers of Ethnic students that they accept into medical school. The colleges that were used were Baylor College of Medicine, Cornell University: Weill College of Medicine, Harvard College of Medicine and New York University School of Medicine. When figuring out the relationship between the Races and the College s accepted rates, the critical value on the distribution was found to be 16.919, because the alpha was not given so since it was not stated so assume it to be 0.05 and the degrees of freedom is 9. Using the Chi square table and matching the d.f. and the alpha, we figured out that critical value would be 16.919. Solving for the Chi square following the formula of the П‡ВІ = ∑ [(O E) ВІ/E], the final solution would be П‡ВІ ≈ 325.497. We than can conclude that there is enough evidence to reject the Ho; the medical schools and the % of accepted students that are accepted into college are not independent of each other. The Field Of Mental Health Counseling Introduction Burnout in the field of Mental Health Counseling is a serious concern for everyone involved, whether the person is just beginning their journey, or if they are a seasoned veteran with years of experience. Unless, the person has a prevention plan in place and adds it into their busy schedule and does not stray from their commitment of their self care program. It is easy when we get busy to skip a day here and there and the next thing you know we have not taken care of ourselves for a month or longer. Once we permit ourselves to neglect our self care program the symptoms of burnout and begin to develop very quickly. Character Strength in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich is a novel about survival. Solzhenitsyn shows us how even in seemingly atrocious circumstances each person can find sources of strength that gives them the will to carry on. Many of the things that the prisoners think of as their sources of strengths would mean nothing to us, but if one thinks about it, without them we would perhaps lose the will to carry on. Most of the prisoners have more than one source of strength, perhaps subconsciously they have made their own fail safes. Alyosha tries to show Shukhov that faith is the strongest source of strength, and he tells Shukhov to try to see the importance of spiritual goods rather than material goods. However, objects have a lot of importance to all of the prisoners. Aloysha hides his New Testament to avoid it being confiscated just Shukhov hides his bread. This shows us that the Bible is as important to Alyosha as bread is to Shukhov. At the end of the novel Shukhov gives away a biscuit to Alyosha and expects nothing in return. This shows that he has taken Alyosha s advice and has chosen to feel spiritual accomplishment rather than keeping the material good. Property is another source of strength in the novel. Possessing something that other prisoners do not have is a way of showing individuality in a place where all the prisoners are marked as the same, ignoring what they have or have not done. Shukhov s spoon is also very symbolic. Shukhov is forced to hide the spoon in order to keep it from being taken by the guards. This essay critically discusses Duchenne muscular dystrophy as a whole, including all the symptoms, causes as well as treatment. 2.Overview of Duchenne muscular dystrophy Duchenne muscular dystrophy was discovered by a French neurologist, Guillaume Duchenne. According to Emery (1994 : 23) Guillaume Duchenne invented an instrument, Duchenne s trocar, to remove small portions of tissue in the body (biopsy). Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a gender linked inherited disorder. To illustrate, males only have one X chromosome, therefore they do not have a second X chromosome to make up for the damaged gene. Females can only become carriers of the disease, as females have a second X chromosomes to make up for the damaged gene. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/19097.htm According to Green (2014) the (DMD) gene for dystrophin, which is a protein that is present in muscles, is the second largest gene. The strength of the mash is determined by the yeast used and the sugar content (higher sugar higher alcohol content). From there the shiners (makers of moonshine) will use a process of distillation to separate the alcohol from the mash to make the product more potent. In distillation the fermented mash is heated to evaporated the Ethyl alcohol which evaporats at 173 degrees farenheight. The vapor is then in a cold tube and comes out more potent. The reason it becomes more potent is because the alcohol that is produced in the mash is being condensed into a smaller size with the same amount of alcohol. Justice has two meanings that differ throughout the span of the book. The first one is to put everything in its place which in other words means to balance and create symmetry between everything. The second definition is following individual rights which means everyone deserves to be treated equally and the opposite of that would be to take away their rights and only allow a sole group those rights.
