According to Bloom s Taxonomy of Learning Domains, learning is divided into three
main domains: cognitive is the thinking domain, affective is the emotion and feeling
domain, and psychomotor is the physical and kinesthetic domain. Included in each
domain is a taxonomy or classification. The taxonomies proceed from the simplest to
most complex levels of the domain.

The cognitive domain includes content knowledge and the development of intellectual

values. Receiving is the receptiveness to experience, and readiness to hear.
Responding is reacting or responding with compliance at first and then later

interrelationships and accommodates behavior to the value system. Internalizing of

The psychomotor domain includes physical movement, coordination, and use of the

manipulation, precision, articulation, and naturalization. Imitation is to replicate an
action of another; observe and mirror the action. Manipulation is recreating an
activity from instruction or memory. Precision is performing a skill reliably,
independent of help, and the action is quick, smooth, and accurate. Articulation is
adapting and articulating competence to satisfy a new context or task. Naturalization
is instinctive, effortless and unconscious mastery of an activity and related skills at a

drinking age should be lowered to about 18 or 19. Engs is a Professor at Indiana
University in the Health and Sciences department. In this article Engs makes a valid
point in that responsible drinking could be taught through role modeling and
educational programs. Engs also states facts about the different drinking ages in other
countries, and that the United States has the highest legal purchasing age for
alcoholic beverages in the world.

In these cultures young people learn from their parents about drinking and the
responsibility that comes with it. Engs suggests that we need to change the current
prohibition law and teach responsible drinking techniques for people that choose to
consume alcohol. Engs states facts, suggests alternative solutions, and relates the past
from the present; this is why her article is believable.
Engs does have many valid points in this article; however the drinking age probably
won t change any time soon. The problem with drinking and driving would greatly
increase, if the prohibition were to change the law of purchasing or consuming
alcohol. Society would break out in madness and there would probably be many
riots, and reports of violent behavior would increase. I believe that Engs has a
fantastic argument; however the government probably won t change their drinking
laws in the near future.
Engs obviously has a great experience with this topic because she is a professor at
Indiana University in the Health and Science department. However, I am not sure
why she is trying to argue for the drinking age to be lowered because she is
obviously over the age of 21. She has many strong points and can tell she has done a
serious amount of research on this topic. Engs does give many examples about how
college students drink responsibly.

location on students academic performance in Ekiti state secondary schools. The

The one choice that changed my life forever was that our family emigrated from
Hong Kong to Canada in 1974. I was only seven years old. My Chinese name is Sau
Han and this is my immigration history. My family came to Canada for a job offer
but mainly it was for a better life. I had to leave behind many loving familymembers

Lastly, Naturalists believe survival of the fittest and natural selection govern people
as well as nature, and people resort to the animal during a crisis. Crane uses literary
elements to create Naturalist themes in A Mystery of Heroism and An Episode of
War. Although both of the stories have Naturalist themes, Crane uses different
elements to create them. In Crane s A Mystery of Heroism he uses literary elements
to create Naturalist themes. One main belief of Naturalists is that someone s life is
determined by environment, chance, and heredity. Crane uses the setting and
characters to create this theme. In the story it says, Too, he wondered why he did not
feel some keen agony of fear cutting his sense like a knife. This quote shows that the

It cannot be denied the role popular culture plays in the the public s knowledge and
understanding of historical events. For a portion of the population once schooling
ends, historical films become the main way people are exposed to history. Because
of this it is vital to understand the benefits that are provided by these historical films
and how they impact the way viewers think about the past and the world they live in
today.
The 2005 film Kingdom of Heaven, directed by Ridley Scott, is a prime example of
popular culture being able to educate the public about the Crusades and Muslim
/Christian relationships of the past. Two cuts of this film exist. The theatrical cut is
140 minutes long and tells the basic story of Crusader Balian of Ibelin, Muslim
leader Saladin, and the fall of Jerusalem during the Third Crusade. The director s cut,
released in 2006, is 192 minutes long and fills in some of the gaps of the story the
theatrical cut was missing. While the film contains many historical inaccuracies, it
promotes historical truths that needed to be heard in the world at the time of its
release and still today.
Some of the historical inaccuracies include the gross mishandling of Balian s story.
His location of birth, family, and occupation are changed and a romance between
Balian and Sybilla, the sister of the King of Jerusalem is invented for the film. The
real Balian of Ibelin was born in the Holy Land to a noble family while the fictional
Balian is the French born bastard son of a knight who was trained as a blacksmith.
Some of these changes to Balian s character were made to allow for the audience to
be introduced to the Holy Land and the Crusades through his eyes, as stated in the
featurette titled, Creative Accuracy: The Scholars Speak, included with the director s
cut of the film. Because of these changes, people s interpretation of class status and
social mobility in the Middle Ages is misrepresented giving viewers a false
understanding of how social status in these societies affected someone s occupational
prospects.

laundry. The term detergent refers to mixtures of chemical compounds including
Alkyl Sulphonates, which are similar to soap but less affected by hard water
(Farlex, 2014). Like soap, detergent increases the ability of water to penetrate fabric
and break down greases and dirt, however they are derived from organic acids rather
than fatty acids (Mifflin, 2005). A detergentis an ion or molecule that contains both
polar and nonpolar components. The polar component allows the detergent to
dissolve in the water, whereas the nonpolar component solubilizes greasy materials
that are the usual target of the cleaning process. Their molecules then surround the
particles of grease and dirt, allowing them to be carried away thus leaving your
clothes clean. This EEI explores the performance of two different laundry powders
(Fab and Woolworths select Home brand) in different types of water; ranging from
soft to hard. These detergents were compared and analysed in different types of water
from varying locations to determine whether water hardness has an effect on the

Architecture today has advanced in many ways than from past ancient civilizations.
A public building in Downtown Melbourne, the Henegar Center, is a theater that
was renovated from a deserted and run down middle school in 1993. The Henegar
Center is a modern version of what the Theater of Epidaurus was back in ancient
Greece. The Henegar Center and the Theater of Epidaurus have both similarities and
differences in the architectureand culture based on the time period that they were built.
The architecture of a theater is complicated, especially in ancient times, because
the design must allow sound to travel through a large amount of space and allow a
large audience to view the scenery. The two theaters have few similarities, such as
the staircase style seats where the rows increase in height. The two theaters were
built in two different time periods and therefore very different in technology and
style. The Henegar Center is laid out in a proscenium style. A proscenium style stage
is where there is an arch around the stage allowing the sound to travel in a single
direction to the audience in front of the performers. On the other hand, the Theater of
Epidaurus was laid out in a semi circle with the stage at the lowest, most center point.
Another big architectural difference between the two theaters is that the Henegar
