Accounting is concerned with providing both financial and non financial information that will help
decision makers to make good decisions. An understanding of accounting therefore requires an
understanding of the decision making process and an awareness of the users of accounting
information. The major purposes of accounting are to formulate overall strategies and long run
plans. Resource allocation decisions such as product, pricing and customer emphasis. Cost planning

[7] Functions of Management Accounting Management accountants contribute to the company s
decisions about strategy, planning, and control, by scorekeeping, attention directing and problem
solving.[8] Scorekeeping: It refers to the accumulation of data and the reporting of reliable results to
all levels of management. Examples of scorekeeping are the recording of actual revenues and
purchases relative to budgeted amounts.[9] Attention Directing: Helping managers focus on
opportunities and problems. Attention directing means getting managers to focus on all
opportunities that would add value to the company and not to focus only on cost reduction
opportunities. An example is highlighting rapidly growing markets where the company may be
under funding its investment. [10] Problem Solving: It refers to the comparative analysis
undertaken to identify the best alternatives in relation to the organisation s goals. An example is
comparing the financial advantages of leasing a fleet of motorcycles rather than owning those
motorcycles.[11] Different decisions place different emphasis on these three roles. For strategic
decisions and planning decisions, the problem solving role is most prominent. For control decisions
(which include both actions to implement planning decisions and decisions about performance
evaluation), the scorekeeping and attention keeping and attention directing roles are most
prominent because they provide feedback to

influence which has presented a reason or else a good excuse for the denial of women s equal
rights within the human race for centuries. At its mainly disgusting characteristic, the conviction
that women have to be dominated to the desires of men justification such as slavery, violent

The Expense Of The Students
expense of the students. In the early years of Fisk University s history, the enrolled students
considered themselves part of a talented tenth that was primed for positions of leadership among
the race. According to historian Joe M. Richardson, Fisk students were not content just to write
about equal rights, they worked actively to retain or secure them (Berry 2005). Before 1924, racial
tension at Fisk University concerning white leadership during this time simply foreshadowed
future efforts by eager black students determined to emerge from their marginal status in society
(Berry 2005). During the administration of Dr. Fayettee McKenzie from 1915 1925, tension over
policies grew into conflict. Some of the policies enforced focused more... Show more content on

Without any regard to black concerns, McKenzie launched special efforts to court the white
community that hailed the university s conservative racial policy as a key to racial
understanding. He fostered impressions that Fisk subscribed to a separation of the races, as
Tuskegee had, and therefore prospered (Berry 2005). These impressions however led to
increased racial tensions, from 1924 to 1925, at that university and ultimately culminated into a
strike in February of 1925. This strike would eventually force the resignation of McKenzie and
lead to important changes in the school. W.E. Du Bois would return to his alma mater to speak
at his daughter s graduation June 2, 1924. During his speech, he blasted President McKenzie for
the many student restrictions and angrily expressed his dissatisfaction at black females singing
at white men s clubs to raise money for the university. Already having a heated opposition and
dispute to Booker T. Washington s views on black education, and with the exploitation of black
females at a higher educational institution, Du Bois would fully support a strike. The Fisk of
1924, as described by Du Bois, was not spreading the spirit of freedom. Du Bois states, In Fisk
today, discipline is choking freedom; threats are replacing inspiration, iron clad rules, suspicion,
tale bearing are most universal ( Du Bois 2001 Pp 66). Du Bois openly criticized the policies as he

My Hero Research Paper
We all have heroes, some are fictional like Superman, Batman, or Abraham Lincoln. My hero is,
my dad. Ever since I was born, I have lived mainly with my dad. When I was a kid, me and my
dad lived in Florida. On the weekends we would go out boating. Crystal clear water all around,
the smell of the sea filling your nose, the not as pleasant taste of salt water in your mouth. Going
out on the ocean was the best part of being there. When we moved we lost all that. We went to
Greybull, Wyoming, a small town where my father grew up. I made a few friends and we all had
lots of fun together. My dad was usually working, fixing the house or out on a job. Most of the
time he took me with him and I helped out. During the winter we would go out to the

The Evolution Of Human Animals
Humans, formally known as Homo sapiens, are some of the most fascinating creatures to inhabit
this planet. We as human animals possess many traits unique to our species, but one of the most
remarkable traits is our upright posture and inherent inclination to walk on two legs. We share this
rare trait with few organisms, who even so only express limited bipedal behaviors. Humanancestors
first initiated the transition to bipedalismapproximately 6 million years ago through the upright
steps of the Sahelanthropus. However, Homo erectus was the first human ancestor to express full
bipedality, which occurred only 1.9 million years ago. Some of the preceding forms of locomotion
used by human ancestors included quadrupedalism or pronograde posture, suspensory locomotion,
and knuckle walking (Watson, 2008). These forms of motion were used not only by human
ancestors such as the Australopithecus afarensis, but can also be observed in modern times in some
of our close relatives, apes and chimpanzees. This transition to bipedalism was facilitated by
structural changes comprised of an angled thigh bone, a more sturdy and broad pelvis, a wider
patella, an S shaped spine, and long femurs. The compilation of all of these adaptations allowed
hominids to not only support their entire body weight while standing upright, but efficiently take
long strides, therefore allowing them to travel greater distances. Though much is known about the
implications for the transition to bipedality, the

Year-Round School
Year Round School
Imagine a school year that never ends. A year without summer, relaxation, and vacations with
family. Summer is the time of year that every student cannot wait arrive. But what if the playful
time filled with friends, smiles, and laughter did not exist? What if school remained in session year
round? This is happening in 3,181 schools across America and is gradually increasing
(edweek.org). The government calls it: Year Round School. There are both many pros and cons to
this controversial issue in today s education; however, Year Round Schoolis not a good decision
because of the social outcomes, the financial costs, and the academic effects that Year Round
School burdens on the students. This is how the Year Round School format would work. Students
would attend school for a certain amount of days, and then the students would receive a longer
break period. This would be repeated all year long. Primarily, the education administration is taking
the summer break and splitting it equally throughout the year (nayre.org). The school districts that
Year Round School will help students, yet it may actually hurt them socially. For example, the long
summer break provides students with the exciting opportunities such as camps and family
vacations. These are learning opportunities that take place outside of the classroom by teaching
young children valuable life skills including patience, teamwork, and tolerance (ltisdschools.org ).

exactly what it takes to work in therapy. I am patient, respectful, responsible and supporting. These
four qualities are essential when working with vulnerable adults, adolescents, and children.

exciting opportunities to work with charities. Due to the upcoming World Awareness Autism day, I
will soon be helping with the bucket collections in busy places in London. I believe that this is an
exciting opportunity because I will be able to share my gathered knowledge on Autism.
After completing the Postgraduate course at Anglia Ruskin University, I am eager to start work with

Demographic Support
The voter that will to support Jane Bitzi will be white Anglo in certain regions of Texas. This
voter is educated and religious. Big Daddy s daughter will be voted by wealthy white religious
southern section of Texas, also she will have supporters that also voted for her Father.
Campaign Themes
A focus that will affect Miss Bitzi from winning will be the melting pot in Texas. According
Newell, 2010 census, showed increase in Texas s Hispanic population, Hispanics are the great
majority of whom are either Mexican or Mexican American ( Newell, page 33).
Concentrating on historically beneficial voting regions, the data of people workforce and economic

Political election strategy. Accurately planning a strategic foresight to enhance the voting outcomes
of regions and populations will demonstrate positive outcomes for this candidate. This campaign
will have to focus on getting the votes of the minority groups, since they are more open in there

Later on, in the movie, he accidentally told on his fellow Jews which resulted in them being
killed while he was praised for telling them where the remaining Jews were. After this, he went
to a school where they trained young Nazi s to know how a Jew looks and how to kill them.
They talked about how you can recognize a Jew by their high head, hooked nose, flat black head,
their ears sticks out, the walk like an ape etc.
At the end of the movie, while in the war between the Nazi s and the Jewish. Solomon dropped
his gun and ran towards them because he couldn t take being a fake Nazi anymore. They brought

Similarities Between Faber And Beatty In Fahrenheit 451
Fahrenheit 451 Analysis Essay Fahrenheit 451, a novel written by Ray Bradbury is a very
prominent work of science fiction. It follows the main character, Montag, who is a fireman in a
futuristic society. In this society firemen start fires and burn books. Faber is a retired English
professor that helps Montag understand the books he reads. He sees the negatives of their society
and helps Montag go against the firemen. Beatty is the fire captain, who Montag works under. He
is happy with their society and tries to keep Montag with the firemen. In Ray Bradburys novel,
Fahrenheit 451, Faber and Beatty are more different than they are similar. Faber and Beatty would

Throughout the book Faber refers to himself as a coward. He wanted to stop books from getting
banned but he did nothing, because no one else cared. I grumbled a few times and subsided, for
there were no others grunting or yelling with me by then (78). In the past, he did not act without
others, showing that he believes it is easier to stand up for what you believe in when you are
with others. My cowardice is of such a passion, complementing the revolutionary spirit that lives
in its shadow, I was forced to design this. He picked up a small green metal object no larger than
a .22 bullet (86). Faber made the green bullet so he could listen to what was happening without
being there himself. He doesn t have the courage to do it himself and has to rely on others.
Beatty is not a coward himself, but believes in everyone being the same. Each man the image of
every other, then all are happy (56). Beatty believes that everyone should be the same and think
the same things, this would lead to a group mentality. Since, no one thinks individual thoughts,
their inner strength would be very weak. They would just continue to go with the group and the
safety it provides. Later in the book, Montag realizes that Beatty wanted to die. Beatty had
wanted to die. He had just stood there, not really trying to save himself, just stood there, joking,
needling, thought Montag, and the thought was enough to stifle his sobbing and let him pause
for air (116). Beatty read books, which many in the society don t do. He wasn t able to live with
his knowledge, with no one else to talk to or discuss with. His actions prove, that to him, being

Copernicus And The First Pioneers Of Science
With each new development in science comes conflict, mostly from those who don t believe that
science follows the teachings of their religion or allies with their beliefs in an almighty power or
God. Looking back in history at some of the great names in human scientific achievement, such as
Copernicus, Galileo, and Darwin, we see that with each genius discovery came some outcry from
religious groups. Nikolaus Copernicus was one of the first pioneers of science. Until 1540 science
had long been a servant of the Christian religion, but Copernicus brought about change, and with
that change came persecution. Copernicus work, although not immediately and widely accepted,
lead directly to the undermining of centuries of assumption and superstition. He was the first to
state that not only was the earth not the center of the universe, but it also orbited the sun. Later in
history came Galileo who brought Copernicus ideas to practical fruition. He was also on the
receiving end of much religious persecution, even to the point of living out his last years under
house arrest, forbidden from writing and publishing. Then in the 1800 s Charles Darwin researched
and published revolutionary biology books on the theoryof evolution, his most widely known
book being The Origin of Species . Even today, long after his death, his works receive much
religious debate; religion today is no more apt at dealing with scientific theory than it was
hundreds of years ago; this is because it is a

The Long-Term Causes Of The 1905 Revolution
Many things caused the 1905 revolution. There were a great number of long term issues, short
term issues and recent issues that lead to the revolution. There was a large deal of long term causes
of the 1905 revolution. Two of them being the fact that peasants were unhappy with their living
conditions and how land was divided up, and the government s policies to develop industry had
negative effects on people, and were hindered by famine and industrial slumps. Peasants were
unhappy with their living conditions for a large time, with peasants for a large amount of time
being slaves until the emancipation in 1961, in which they were promised land but not given it.
Land was not equally spread amongst Russia s citizens and the nobility held a large amount of land
compared to the peasants, even after the emancipation. This led to discontent with the government
and its policies from the peasants. The government s attempts at industrialising Russia also were a
long term cause in the 1905 revolution. 3 officials attempted to industrialise Russia through
different methods. They attempted to stimulate industry by raising prices and placing tariffs, they

The Story Of The Puerto Rican People Is Quite Unique In
The story of the Puerto Rican people is quite unique in the history of U.S. immigration, just as
Puerto Rico dwell a distinctive and sometimes confusing position in the nation s civic fabric. Puerto
Rico has been ownership of the U.S. for more than a century, however it has never been a state.
Puerto Ricans have been U.S. citizens since 1917, but even with that they still have no vote in
Congress. Being citizens of the U.S. they can move throughout the fifty states without any problems
just as any other American can do legally. This however, is considered inside migration, not
immigration.

Having thought of all the offers that were thrown on the table to them as they made their way into
the United States of America, like being told that if Puerto Rican men joined the army they would
have better possibilities in having a more prosperous life on the mainland. Even though the U.S.
tried to promote Puerto Rico as a glamorous tourist destination, in the early 20th century the
island of Puerto Rico suffered a severe economic depression. Because of this depression, poverty
was widespread, and few of the island s residents could afford the long boat journey to the
mainland, therefore because of the continuing depression in Puerto Rico made many Puerto Ricans
eager for a fresh start, and this then led to the fast recruiting of U.S. factory owners and
employment agencies on the island. In addition, the postwar years saw the return home of
thousands of Puerto Rican war veterans, whose service in the U.S. military had shown them the
world. But perhaps the most significant cause was the sudden availability of affordable air travel.
After centuries of immigration by boat, the Puerto Rican migration became the first great airborne

Shoplifting Techniques Used By Shoplifters
9.16.What are the shoplifting techniques used by shoplifters?
Shoplifters use a variety of techniques, such as boosters, blockers, sweepers, walkers, diverters, and
wearers.
Boosters are shoplifters who shove merchandise into concealed areas of parcels, and booster boxes
are carefully construct that appear authentic, tightly wrapped packages, but which contain trap
doors that allow the shoplifters to slip merchandise into the boxes quickly and easily.
Blockers are to obstruct the vision of the store personnel while they or a partner shoplifts by simply
stands between the salespersons and a shoplifting partner.
Sweepers are simply brush merchandise off the counter into a shopping bag or some other type of
container. They typically reach over a counter and apparently, to examine a piece of merchandise
but in the process of bringing their arm back they sweep merchandise off the counter and into the
container.
Walkers are shoplifters who have perfect the technique of walking naturally while carrying
concealed merchandise between their legs. Shoplifters who have developed this skill are capable
of carrying merchandise both small items and large items such as personal care products, wines

good approach to use when stopping a suspect is to speak to the person and identify yourself, then

Analysis of the Absorption of Green Light Versus Red Light Absorption in Spinach Leaves
The goal of the experiment was to determine if green light had less ability to absorb than red light in
spinach leaves. This was done by separating the photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll
b, carotene and xanthophylls) from one another using paper chromatography. The separated
pigments were then analyzed for their absorption spectrum using a spectrographometer. When the
data was graphed it clearly showed the higher rate of red light absorption over green light. These
results along with previous research indicate the importance of red light in photosynthesis and the
minor role green light plays.

These wavelengths correspond to the wavelengths of visible light. Overall blue and red light works
best, while green in least effective in the photosynthesis process (Nishio, 2000). The wavelengths
that a pigment absorbs, absorption spectra, are determined using a spectrophotometer. In order to
obtain the photosynthetic pigment s absorption spectra the pigments are separated using paper
chromatography. Paper chromatography is an analytical technique that separates a mixture based
on the individual pigment s size, polarity and solubility (Lewis, 2004). The separation of the
mixtures involves a stationary phase (the chromatography paper), which a mobile phase (solvent)
moves up through. When the mixtures is applied to the paper and allowed to flow with the mobile
phase, the different pigments move at different rates (Campbell, 1996). This means the pigments
that absorb the strongest to the stationary phase (the chromatography paper) will move the slowest,
while the weakest will move the fastest. The rate of the pigments movement will separate each
pigment individually from the mixture (Maitland, 2002). This natural separation shows that each
pigment is chemically different and plays different roles in photosynthesis (Maitland, 2002). To
analyze the separated pigments a spectrophotometer is used to obtain an absorbance spectrum. This
spectrum is a graph that shows a pigment s light absorption versus wavelengths

`` Borders `` By Thomas King
In the boiling pot of America most people have been asked what are you? when referring to one
s race or nationality. In the short story Borders by Thomas King he explores one of the many
difficulties of living in a world that was stripped from his race. In a country that is as diverse as
North America, cultureand self identity are hard to maintain. King s short story Borders deals with
a conflict that I have come to know well of. The mother in Borders is just in preserving her raceand
the background of her people. The mother manages to maintain her identity that many people lose
from environmental pressure.
It is hard to find someone who doesn t have a mixed heritage. In Borders Thomas King addresses
this fact through the difficulties of having inherited mixed cultures. The mother describes herself as
Blackfoot, but this description is too broad for the border police, and for the law. Similarly I have
come across the same issue. I could describe myself as Mexican, which is my race, but I could
also describe myself as an American, because that is what my passport says. In the eye of the law
I am American, but with the culture I surround myself by I am Mexican. This conflict comes from
within the mother, and also from her beliefs that she lives by. Blackfoot could easily refer to
someone from Canada, but their land was taken, thus creating this separation. The Blackfoot people
are Indians without a country, they are the indigenous people of an area, but

Hippolytus vs. Pentheus Essay
Hippolytus vs. Pentheus
When arguing the statement, the character of Pentheus in the Bacchae is portrayed as earning his
fate, whereas the character of Hippolytus in the Hippolytus is portrayed as an innocent victim of
the god, I must both, agree and disagree with it. I would definitely agree with it on a shallow
point of view, but would have to disagree with it upon dissecting both the stories. The stories tell of
Hippolytus being killed for something he did not do, while Pentheus was killed for not accepting
the god Dionysus. But when you look deep into the meaning of each story, the apparent black and
white assumptions of innocents and guilt change from definitive to doubt to say the least.

Further along in the story, he ends up blaming Zeus for creating women and he also blames him
after finding out about Phaedra s feelings; which seems to me that he was even blaming Zeus for
making her become infatuated with him. The infatuation was Aphrodite s doing for lack of
worship, not Zeus . So even though Hippolytus did not sin toward Phaedra, he ends up sinning
toward Zeus, by questioning his putting of women on the earth and blaming him for something he
had no part in, and to Aphrodite by not giving her the respect she thought she deserved.
Then if read shallowly, the Bacchae also seems to be black and white, in the fact that the story tells
of Pentheus earning his fate. The first step would be when strange things started to happen and the
arrest of the stranger, Dionysus. Next, and the most important step in him earning his fate would be
that Pentheus rejects the belief of Dionysus. Later on, more strange things happen, namely miracles
and now Pentheus and Dionysus meet again, this time Pentheus is unable to reject him and starts
to fall under his spell. They then meet for a final time and now Dionysus is in total control and
humiliates Pentheus. When the chorus sees this, they invoke the Swift hounds of Frenzy to bring
vengeance on Pentheus for failing to honor the gods. Pentheus is then finally killed by Bacchantes
with the aid of his mother Agave. This seems to be a simple story of a man who rejected

The Analects Books I V I ve Had An Open Mind
While reading The Analects books I V I ve had an open mind while reading the books. When I
say an open mind I mean I was reading the books hoping and considering to learn. I did not know
a lot about Analects before reading the books. I ve found the topic of these books to be quite
interesting. In my opinion, The Analects is an assortment of sayings and ideas credited to the great
philosopher Confucius. The Analects were more than likely written between 30 50 year time span.
The organization of chapters seems disorganized because they are dealing with subjects that are in
no way connected.
While reading book one I ve came to the conclusion that the text excerpts in this chapter
introduces two of the basic themes of work. The first theme that I prefer the most is what
qualities are desirable in a human being. This one is important to me because in today s world I
question this every day. I wonder what are all the qualities a human being can have and why don
t everyone have the same qualities. The second theme is how morality can be reflected in one s
behavior. The story soon shifts to matters involving family and the government. During this
course, with every new religion it seems like they are big on family. Since we are on the topic of
family, the text seems to take on the issue of filial piety. Filial piety means refers to the virtue of
respect for one s parents or ancestors. Book two focuses more on the matter of government. I say
that because at the beginning of book

Horse Training Research
Training
Few information has been reported or discussed in literature about training of endurance horses,
although there are many programs have been developed by different groups
Three different kinds of exercises
Outdoor rides: In contrast to other equestrian disciplines where horses are trained in arenas or on
racetracks, endurance training occurs outdoor with rides in trails with duration of 2h on average
(Anne GaГ«lle Goachet and VГ©ronique Julliand, 2011). Horses were trained in flat grounds at
trot of 14km/h, and with approximately 20% walk at 6km/h, and 10% gallop at 20km/h.
Canters on racetrack: these exercises purposed to working at higher speed and intensity than the
outdoor rides. Canters for 2h at 18 20 km/h were involved in the training program, only for horses
preparing 130 and 160km events. The appropriate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This aimed to exercising the horses earlier in the endurance season and increasing the workload
per week from 6h45 to 10h (Table 3).
Training programs
In the early years of conditioning, competitions are integrated into the conditioning plan when the
horse attains convenient level of fitness, and they are considered as a part of the conditioning step
rather than an end in themselves. In contrast, experienced endurance horses are prepared for
specific races each year, and the annual conditioning program is intended so that the horse reaches
peak fitness at these predetermined times (Clayton et al, 1991). The training programs are various
depending on whether the horse is un experienced or experienced.
Training for 20, 40 and 60km rides: horses were ridden twice/week, for 1h30 and 2h30 hours, with
a comparatively low weekly workload (Table 3). No need to complete canters on racetracks or to
exercise in the walker. Twelve weeks of training are enough to prepare horses to compete in 20, 40,
60km endurance

The Art of Mummification Essay
In this occupation certain persons employ themselves regularly and inherit this as a craft.
(Herodotus) Just as Herodotus recorded, mummification dates back to early 3rd millennium B.C.
It may date back many years, but was not perfected till many years later to what we officially call
mummification. (Dunand 27) We call it mummification and the bodies mummies because of the
Persian word for bitumen, which is mummia . The reason for this name is because of the dark
skin of mummies, which people mistook for bitumen. Bitumen is a mineral formed for a tar like
substance. (Becket 31) One of the main reasons to prepare the body, making it look like bitumen,

The most important people in the mummification process were the controller of mysteries,
Lector priest, and God s seal bearer. They were responsible for the religious preceding of the
body. (Dunand 38) Many different things were mummified to be put into the elaborate tombs.
Soon the process of being mummified became well known to the royals. The royals, when they
were buried, had themselves put into elaborate tombs. (David 60) The royals thought that this
idea would prevent grave robbers from disturbing their body. Not only were the royals buried in
elaborate tombs, but at times members of nobility and officials had elaborate tombs. Common
people could have elaborate tombs, but it depended on how much money they had to spend.
Along with being buried in elaborate tombs to ward off grave robbers, they would be buried
with animals to ward off spirits. The cultures of many people believed that the bull, baboon, cat,
bird, and crocodiles were sacred. ( Encyclopedia 2) They would specially have the animals

Everyone was created for a reason. Don t ever allow yourself to feel trapped by your choices.
Take a look at yourself. You are a unique person created for a specific purpose. Your gifts matter.
Your story matters. Your dreams matter. You matter. Real Michael Oher. In the visual text The

Causes Of False Confessions
This paper is to examine and identify the risk factors and reasons of false confessions and how
social reform can mitigate innocent individuals from being wrongfully convicted and
incarcerated. There are many reasons we will see that contribute to false confessions. Many
people think there is no way they would ever confess to something they did not do, especially if it
is a serious crime. When in fact this occurs all the time and has been happening for hundreds of
years.
The results of a study show that nearly 3000 students or 14% reported to having been
interrogated at a police station. Of those students 58.2 % reported they had been interrogated only
once, 19.6 % twice 13.7 % three to five times and 8.5 % six or more times. The study showed that
males were significantly more likely to report having ever been interrogated compared to females.
Of all the students that were interrogated 14.7 % reported to having made a false confession. 60.8 %
made only 1 false confession, 18.9% made two false confessions, 9.2 % made three to five false
confessions and 11.1 % reported six or more times. Males were significantly more likely to report
making a false confession over females. Also, the individuals in the younger group were more
likely to report making a false confession over the older group. The risk predictors of police
interrogation and false confessions show the strongest predictors were ADHD symptoms combined
with the younger classification.

area adolescents surveyed 58 percent said school was their biggest cause of stress. This
demonstrates that overachievement is an especially big issue in this geographic area.
Considering the fact that the majority of students in this region of the country are overwhelmed
by school, wouldn t that mean students should relax themselves and take it easier in school to
ultimately relieve most of their stress? When it comes down to it, failing tomorrow s history test
does not equate to being a failure at life. Besides, stressing could cloud up a person s thinking
and may very well end up in him or her performing worse. Weisman s article also mentions how
students who are afraid of making mistakes wind up learning less and scoring lower on exams than
those who focus on effort. So, stop stressing and relax.Overachievers may appear as highly

My Partner And I Chose The Film The Lion King
My partner and I chose the film The Lion King. This Disney animated feature from 1994 follows
the adventures of Simba, a young lion voiced by Jonathan Taylor Thomas (Home Improvement).
He is joined by his father, Mufasa voiced by the great James Earl Jones (Star Wars) and his
corrupt, uncle Scar who is voiced by one of the all time favorites Jeremy Irons (The Man from
the Iron Mask). Scar wants to be king and overthrow Mufasa and comes up with a plan to lure
Simba and his father into a stampede of wildebeests. Simba escapes, but his father Mufasa is
killed. Simba soon finds himself chased out of his kingdom and paired with two new friends
Timon and Pumbaa. His friends are Timon a meerkat voiced by Nathan Lane (The Producers)
and Pumbaa is a warthog voiced by Ernie Sabella (Mouse Hunt). The story ultimately leads to
Simba, now an adult being voiced by Matthew Broderick (Godzilla), returning to take back his
homeland back from Scar with the help of his friends. Of the characters in the film, we see
Simba and his friend Nala as lion cubs in the start of the film. Simba and Nala are both roughly

The Settlements Of The Treaty Of Waitangi Essay
The Settlements of the Treaty of Waitangi.
The treaty of Waitangi is considered to be the founding document of the English and European
control and settlement in New Zealand. After the treaty s signing in 1840 it has played a huge role
in legal affairs and the treatment of both European New Zealanders and Maori New Zealanders.
Though there is dispute as to the correct or incorrect translation from English to Maori and vice
versa, the treaty has on the whole created a harmonious existence between the two cultures.
In 1832 after a plea for help and protection sent to the French and English by the Maori, the English
sent James Busby to be the British Resident in New Zealand, which would lead to the later
appointment of William Hobson as the Lieutenant Governor of New Zealand. In 1834 James
Busby drafted a document known as the Declaration of Independence of New Zealand . This was
signed by himself and 35 Northern Maori chiefs in 1835 appointing those chiefs as the
representatives of a state under the name of the United Tribes of New Zealand . This document
was not popular in the Colonial Office in England and it seemed that a corrective document was
needed for New Zealand. This document ended up being the Treaty of Waitangi.
Hobsons instructions are the basis for all Waitangi Tribunal claims and settlements, the instructions
were issued to him by James Stephen of the Colonial office on behalf of Queen Victoria. The
instructions were as follows:

In the stories The Red Umbrella, by Christina Diaz Gonzalez and ВЁBand Aid for 800
ChildrenВЁ by Eli Saslow there is one subject that the both of stories have in common,
Immigration. Still there are many differences in the stories, in The red umbrella a family is being
separated from a poor lifestyle in Cuba, in ВЁBand Aid for 800 ChildrenВЁ kids parents are being
deported making it harder for the kid to live.
Both stories have somethings in common, in The red umbrella one of the main problems is family
separation but also in the story ВЁBand aid for 800 childrenВЁ there is family separation. In
The Red Umbrella a family sends their kids to america to live a better life while the parents
seperate themselves from the children and stays in cuba. In the story ВЁBand Aid for 800
ChildrenВЁ kids are getting separated from their families because of deportation, and illegal
immigration. Another thing the stories have in common is they both have poor lifestyle, in The
Red Umbrella Mom and Dad decide to send the Children to America because if ... Show more

This is felt threw the whole story as the Mom and Dad talk to the kids about sending them away
to America. Meanwhile in the story ВЁBand Aid for 800 ChildrenВЁ there isn t really a moment
where you can feel that type of sadness, this story has more of a Never stopping hard working feel
to it. This is mostly felt when the character in the story Nora Sandigo talks about how every kid is
like a job and is not easy to handle, Nora talks about how the job she has of taking care of kids
that had their parents deported and how its the only way she is gonna be able to stay in america.
The authors use these techniques to show how hard it is living in other countries that isnt as
wealthy, or not as free, and how hard it is to be an immigrant and make money to live a better life

My Life Of Sports
Sports are a substainsal part of my life. As a person, I am very competitive and I love watching
sports almost as much as I love playing them. My two main athletic passions are softball and
baton twirling. I ve been playing softball since I was four, and nothing has been able to tear me
from the field ever since. I love the fast pace of the game, every at bat is exhilarating, and I
always am hoping the ball will come to me on defense. I have met many of my best friends
through softball, and I love the opportunity to be able to work and play a team sport with amazing
people and friends. Along with softball, I also enjoy basketballand football. My basketball career
was brief (due to my shortness), but I follow the NBA and I m a Warriors and Celtics fan. I have
always kind of wished I could play football, but I enjoy watching the Packers and Broncos, and
follow college football go Hawks! My life is immesly influenced by sports, and I can credit sports
for an abundance of memories and years of fun.
My other, more uncommon sport I compete in is baton twirling. Twirling is a rare and complex
sport that not many compete in, and for that reason, I am known to some as that twirler girl .
Baton is like smashing different types of dance, gymnastics, and aerobics into one, then adding
one or a few, silver sticks. It s an incredibly physically demanding activity that requires a great deal
of practice, perseverance, and patience. I started twirling at age three, so this is is

Romeo And Juliets
widely known play, so there have been many different variations of it. Over the years people
have came up with many different ideas, and views of the play. Some companies have made
movies, and others plays. In the movie that took place in California they modernized it. Instead
of swords they used guns, but still called them swords. The (1996)Romeo and Juliet is a play
that was written by Shakespeare, in the 1500 s. It is a very ey had vehicles, skyscrapers, police
helicopters stuff like that. Juliet s mother was ruder to her in the modern one then the other two. Its
also the only one that shows him receiving the letter, although he does not read it of course. They
made the montagues out to be poor and the Capulets to be rich. He meets Juliet... Show more

The play starts out with a narrator. As the characters come out you notice they are all dressed
fancy, and the montagues are a different race then the capulets ( white and black). Romeo pulls
up on a motorcycle, to talk to Mercutio. They appear to be talking in the forest. They used the
dialect that was used in the original play, but dressed modern. The motorcycle is the only motor
vehicle in the play. Lady capulet is depicted as a woman with a temper and that doesn t take any
crap, in the others she is a pricy fancy woman. Lord capulet is depicted as a caring father
whereas in the other two he seems more abusive, to both lady capulet and Juliet. It seems to have
more scenes, where it shows Romeo and Juliet just talking on her balcony because she doesn t
really have a room in the play. The only seen where she has a room is when she drinks that
potion, and they think she is dead but it just shows her bed. When Romeo slays Tybalt with ease,
it show Juliet talking about it to the nurse, and the nurse comforting her. Tybalt has no trouble
killing Mercutio in the play, while Romeo has no trouble killing Tybalt. It shows Romeo
purchasing the poison, but its is just an empty bottle in both films they contained liquid. The man
Romeo purchased the poison from was reluctant, to sell it to him in the play. He said it didn t feel
right and that he could also get in trouble for it. When Romeo drinks the poison he dies before
Juliet wakes up. She kills herself shortly after with

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [7] Functions of Management Accounting Management accountants contribute to the company s decisions about strategy, planning, and control, by scorekeeping, attention directing and problem solving.[8] Scorekeeping: It refers to the accumulation of data and the reporting of reliable results to all levels of management. Examples of scorekeeping are the recording of actual revenues and purchases relative to budgeted amounts.[9] Attention Directing: Helping managers focus on opportunities and problems. Attention directing means getting managers to focus on all opportunities that would add value to the company and not to focus only on cost reduction opportunities. An example is highlighting rapidly growing markets where the company may be under funding its investment. [10] Problem Solving: It refers to the comparative analysis undertaken to identify the best alternatives in relation to the organisation s goals. An example is comparing the financial advantages of leasing a fleet of motorcycles rather than owning those motorcycles.[11] Different decisions place different emphasis on these three roles. For strategic decisions and planning decisions, the problem solving role is most prominent. For control decisions (which include both actions to implement planning decisions and decisions about performance evaluation), the scorekeeping and attention keeping and attention directing roles are most prominent because they provide feedback to ... • 5. The Expense Of The Students expense of the students. In the early years of Fisk University s history, the enrolled students considered themselves part of a talented tenth that was primed for positions of leadership among the race. According to historian Joe M. Richardson, Fisk students were not content just to write about equal rights, they worked actively to retain or secure them (Berry 2005). Before 1924, racial tension at Fisk University concerning white leadership during this time simply foreshadowed future efforts by eager black students determined to emerge from their marginal status in society (Berry 2005). Without any regard to black concerns, McKenzie launched special efforts to court the white community that hailed the university s conservative racial policy as a key to racial understanding. He fostered impressions that Fisk subscribed to a separation of the races, as Tuskegee had, and therefore prospered (Berry 2005). These impressions however led to increased racial tensions, from 1924 to 1925, at that university and ultimately culminated into a strike in February of 1925. This strike would eventually force the resignation of McKenzie and lead to important changes in the school. W.E. Du Bois would return to his alma mater to speak at his daughter s graduation June 2, 1924. During his speech, he blasted President McKenzie for the many student restrictions and angrily expressed his dissatisfaction at black females singing at white men s clubs to raise money for the university. Already having a heated opposition and dispute to Booker T. Washington s views on black education, and with the exploitation of black females at a higher educational institution, Du Bois would fully support a strike. The Fisk of 1924, as described by Du Bois, was not spreading the spirit of freedom. • 9. The Evolution Of Human Animals Humans, formally known as Homo sapiens, are some of the most fascinating creatures to inhabit this planet. We as human animals possess many traits unique to our species, but one of the most remarkable traits is our upright posture and inherent inclination to walk on two legs. We share this rare trait with few organisms, who even so only express limited bipedal behaviors. Humanancestors first initiated the transition to bipedalismapproximately 6 million years ago through the upright steps of the Sahelanthropus. However, Homo erectus was the first human ancestor to express full bipedality, which occurred only 1.9 million years ago. Some of the preceding forms of locomotion used by human ancestors included quadrupedalism or pronograde posture, suspensory locomotion, and knuckle walking (Watson, 2008). These forms of motion were used not only by human ancestors such as the Australopithecus afarensis, but can also be observed in modern times in some of our close relatives, apes and chimpanzees. This transition to bipedalism was facilitated by structural changes comprised of an angled thigh bone, a more sturdy and broad pelvis, a wider patella, an S shaped spine, and long femurs. The compilation of all of these adaptations allowed hominids to not only support their entire body weight while standing upright, but efficiently take long strides, therefore allowing them to travel greater distances. Though much is known about the implications for the transition to bipedality, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is happening in 3,181 schools across America and is gradually increasing (edweek.org). The government calls it: Year Round School. This is how the Year Round School format would work. Students would attend school for a certain amount of days, and then the students would receive a longer break period. Copernicus And The First Pioneers Of Science With each new development in science comes conflict, mostly from those who don t believe that science follows the teachings of their religion or allies with their beliefs in an almighty power or God. Looking back in history at some of the great names in human scientific achievement, such as Copernicus, Galileo, and Darwin, we see that with each genius discovery came some outcry from religious groups. Nikolaus Copernicus was one of the first pioneers of science. Until 1540 science had long been a servant of the Christian religion, but Copernicus brought about change, and with that change came persecution. Copernicus work, although not immediately and widely accepted, lead directly to the undermining of centuries of assumption and superstition. He was the first to state that not only was the earth not the center of the universe, but it also orbited the sun. Later in history came Galileo who brought Copernicus ideas to practical fruition. He was also on the receiving end of much religious persecution, even to the point of living out his last years under house arrest, forbidden from writing and publishing. Then in the 1800 s Charles Darwin researched and published revolutionary biology books on the theoryof evolution, his most widely known book being The Origin of Species . Even today, long after his death, his works receive much religious debate; religion today is no more apt at dealing with scientific theory than it was hundreds of years ago; this is because it is a ... Analysis of the Absorption of Green Light Versus Red Light Absorption in Spinach Leaves The goal of the experiment was to determine if green light had less ability to absorb than red light in spinach leaves. This was done by separating the photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotene and xanthophylls) from one another using paper chromatography. The separated pigments were then analyzed for their absorption spectrum using a spectrographometer. When the data was graphed it clearly showed the higher rate of red light absorption over green light. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These wavelengths correspond to the wavelengths of visible light. Overall blue and red light works best, while green in least effective in the photosynthesis process (Nishio, 2000). The wavelengths that a pigment absorbs, absorption spectra, are determined using a spectrophotometer. In order to obtain the photosynthetic pigment s absorption spectra the pigments are separated using paper chromatography. Paper chromatography is an analytical technique that separates a mixture based on the individual pigment s size, polarity and solubility (Lewis, 2004). The separation of the mixtures involves a stationary phase (the chromatography paper), which a mobile phase (solvent) moves up through. When the mixtures is applied to the paper and allowed to flow with the mobile phase, the different pigments move at different rates (Campbell, 1996). This means the pigments that absorb the strongest to the stationary phase (the chromatography paper) will move the slowest, while the weakest will move the fastest. The rate of the pigments movement will separate each pigment individually from the mixture (Maitland, 2002). This natural separation shows that each pigment is chemically different and plays different roles in photosynthesis (Maitland, 2002). To analyze the separated pigments a spectrophotometer is used to obtain an absorbance spectrum. This spectrum is a graph that shows a pigment s light absorption versus wavelengths ... In the short story Borders by Thomas King he explores one of the many difficulties of living in a world that was stripped from his race. In a country that is as diverse as North America, cultureand self identity are hard to maintain. King s short story Borders deals with a conflict that I have come to know well of. The mother in Borders is just in preserving her raceand the background of her people. The mother manages to maintain her identity that many people lose from environmental pressure. It is hard to find someone who doesn t have a mixed heritage. In Borders Thomas King addresses this fact through the difficulties of having inherited mixed cultures. The mother describes herself as Blackfoot, but this description is too broad for the border police, and for the law. Similarly I have come across the same issue. I could describe myself as Mexican, which is my race, but I could also describe myself as an American, because that is what my passport says. In the eye of the law I am American, but with the culture I surround myself by I am Mexican. This conflict comes from within the mother, and also from her beliefs that she lives by. I would definitely agree with it on a shallow point of view, but would have to disagree with it upon dissecting both the stories. The stories tell of Hippolytus being killed for something he did not do, while Pentheus was killed for not accepting the god Dionysus. So even though Hippolytus did not sin toward Phaedra, he ends up sinning toward Zeus, by questioning his putting of women on the earth and blaming him for something he had no part in, and to Aphrodite by not giving her the respect she thought she deserved. Then if read shallowly, the Bacchae also seems to be black and white, in the fact that the story tells of Pentheus earning his fate. The first step would be when strange things started to happen and the arrest of the stranger, Dionysus. Next, and the most important step in him earning his fate would be that Pentheus rejects the belief of Dionysus. Later on, more strange things happen, namely miracles and now Pentheus and Dionysus meet again, this time Pentheus is unable to reject him and starts to fall under his spell. When I say an open mind I mean I was reading the books hoping and considering to learn. I did not know a lot about Analects before reading the books. I ve found the topic of these books to be quite interesting. In my opinion, The Analects is an assortment of sayings and ideas credited to the great philosopher Confucius. The Analects were more than likely written between 30 50 year time span. The organization of chapters seems disorganized because they are dealing with subjects that are in no way connected. While reading book one I ve came to the conclusion that the text excerpts in this chapter introduces two of the basic themes of work. The first theme that I prefer the most is what qualities are desirable in a human being. This one is important to me because in today s world I question this every day. I wonder what are all the qualities a human being can have and why don t everyone have the same qualities. The second theme is how morality can be reflected in one s behavior. The story soon shifts to matters involving family and the government. During this course, with every new religion it seems like they are big on family. Since we are on the topic of family, the text seems to take on the issue of filial piety. Filial piety means refers to the virtue of respect for one s parents or ancestors. Book two focuses more on the matter of government. I say that because at the beginning of book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The treaty of Waitangi is considered to be the founding document of the English and European control and settlement in New Zealand. After the treaty s signing in 1840 it has played a huge role in legal affairs and the treatment of both European New Zealanders and Maori New Zealanders. Though there is dispute as to the correct or incorrect translation from English to Maori and vice versa, the treaty has on the whole created a harmonious existence between the two cultures. In 1832 after a plea for help and protection sent to the French and English by the Maori, the English sent James Busby to be the British Resident in New Zealand, which would lead to the later appointment of William Hobson as the Lieutenant Governor of New Zealand.
