Role Of Fatma Begum
Bengal could show the way to lessen gender imbalance in Indian film industry One might not have
heard the name of Fatma Begum. Indeed, she isn t quite the household name. But her achievement
as the very first Indian woman to ever single handedly direct a movie is engraved in stone, and
will always be. The year was 1926, at a time when world cinema was still experimenting with the
science and technology of motion pictures. Indian cinema had already taken long strides by then,
but produced only acting roles for women. Yet, breaking the mould, Fatma Begum established her
own production company Fatma Films and went on to direct Bulbule Paristan! Perhaps without
even realising the effect of her achievement, Fatma laid the foundation stone for a generation of
women, who sought to be employed by the burgeoning film industry in a role other than that of an
actress. The Southern film industry encompassing three major languages: Tamil, Telugu, and
Kannada did not see its own female driven films until the 1960s, when Savitri Ganesan the spouse
of the iconic Gemini Ganesan directed Chinnari Papalu. When one reads about it, it seems like a
rosy story. But women had to make unimaginable strides and struggles to even tread on the path
that was paved by Fatma Begum forty years earlier. Savitri Ganesan herself... Show more content on

And the other industries have been graciously receptive of the quality of art that is produced by
Bengali makers. It is important that the entire country learns to accept the strides that the women
filmmakers of Bengal have made, and only have a more sustained belief in their own daughters.
Move over the days where women were only meant to be actresses, models and item number girls.
It s high time women are given the opportunities that men have considered a

How Does Death Influence Poe s Behavior
Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1809. His father David Poe
Jr. left the family early into his adolescence and his mother Eliza Poe died of tuberculosis when
Edgar was three years old. Separated from his siblings William and Rosalie Poe, went to live on
a farm with John and Frances Allan, a successful couple in the tobacco industry in Richmond,
Virginia. Edgar and Frances seemed to get along really well, but Poe never seemed to bond with
John. He preferred to write rather than earn money, Poe was known to write on John s business
papers. When Edgar was waiting for his answer for West Point he lived with his grandmother and
his aunt Mrs. Clemm. He finally got his answer and was able to attend West point as a cadet. His

Another thing that Funk and Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia tells us is Poe drank to excess
at times and may have taken drugs but the extent of those habits may have been exaggerated by
some of his biographers. He was a highly productive writer and worker until the died. Edgar died
two years after his wife died. According to The Smithsonian Mag One of the most recent theories
of Edgar Allan Poe s death suggest the author succumbed to a brain tumor which influences Poes
behavior before his death. When Poe died he was buried, rather unconstrained, in an unmarked
grave in a Baltimore graveyard. I became insane, with the long intervals of horrible sanity Edgar
was an orphan by the age of two, he was very intelligent by the time he was 8 he had learned to
speak Latin and who had mastered even the most complex Latin words by the time he was a
teenager. Poe was an athletic student who stuck up for those who couldn t do it themselves
against the biggest and baddest bullies and loved to help people and he was a deeply connected
with Baltimore. Some say Edgar was a very dark person as an adult, he didn t express his feelings
and lived a sad and frustrating

Understanding Vicarious Traumatization And Its Impacts
Drama therapy is defined as an intentional and systematic application of drama/ theatre processes,
products, and associations towards achieving therapeutic goals of symptom relief, emotional and
physical integration and individual/personal growth. Therefore, the goals of drama therapy are
established from psychotherapy and the tools to achieve these goals are derived from theatre
Children use drama as therapy spontaneously, with no outside direction or pre imposed structure.

Christian Calling History
The history of Christianity, in the early years, reflected on the calling or the vocation. The term
calling was usually dedicated to a person called lead the people, i.e., a pastor or member or the
clergy. This is the time to be convinced that a professional call to ministry is a biblical concept.
Paul supports this in Eph. 4:11 12, And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets,
some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for
building up the body of Christ.
In keeping with church history, our calling comes from the knowledge that we have of God and the
theology that we ascertain from Him. Church reformer, Martin Luther, was against the theology of
glory but was for the theology of the cross. GonzГҐlez from, The Story of Christianity, of Luther,
says, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In our calling, we should not get caught up with the idea of what the calling of God is for our
lives. For example, accepting the calling so that I can get certain perks that come with the calling,
i.e., being recognized as the minister, sitting up front during meetings, having an armor bearer, etc.
Rather our calling should always keep us focused on the cross of Christ and the revelation that it
brings as we seek after Him daily.
Ephesians 1:18 (New King James Version) shows us, the eyes of your understanding being
enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of
His inheritance in the saints. Our calling should continually rest on understanding the mind of God
and where He is leading us in this walk with Him.
Throughout bible and church history, there were many that were called to do a specific task for
God. As I opened with Smith referring to Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, and Paul, I would like to take
a moment and reflect on the some of the bible heroes who were called to lead a people to the

Natural Selection Affect Species And Their Characteristics
Finally selection this is after the species has separated, natural selection effects populations
separately. As each area is different the selection pressures are different, in which why their
characteristics are different as they are selected for their habitat. An example of selection includes
warrior ants, in which they have chemicals that tell other ants in their family not to attack. Some of
these ants have adapted and learnt to imitate the chemical signal from other colonies so they can
invade another colony and the workers wouldn t know (Your dictionary, 2015).
For the bird their beaks would have either originated from plant or seeds, over time as they
would have began to go off into other parts of the and they would have has to develop their beaks
to fit their certain food type. Other factors such as geographical barriers would have also affected
in how the way that their beaks changes overtime. After a while the birds would have been
separated for a while would have developed their own characteristics to adjust to their different
habitats. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other bird which has the beak designed for seeds would live most likely in a place where
there is not such a buzzing insect population and more plant and seed based, perhaps in a dryer
climate.
Another example of speciation is the North American butterfly, David Wright making a discovery
in 2002 that a new species of butterfly in which was large and colourful knowsn as Papilio. From
further research Davis soon discovered the apparent mixture in this species of two closely related
species. These being the Canadian tiger swallowtail and the eastern tiger swallowtail. These two
formed the new butterfly in which occurs in cooler thermal habitat at mid to high elevations getting
this from the Canadian tiger

Kubrick s Use Of Satire In Dr. Strangelove
In 1964 with the cold war and Cuban missile crisis still fresh in the minds of many, Stanley
Kubrick masterpiece Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
focuses on the terrifying newer technology of the hydrogen bomb and the fear that comes in
congruence with having such powerful weaponry. This comes with an oddly comedic twist.
Kubrick dared to make a movie about what would happen if the wrong person presses the wrong

acts throughout. It all begins with Group Captain Lionel Mandrake (Peter Sellers) being called

intro
To be a successful potter in today s society, one needs to be innovative, creative, and people
smart. They need to be able to read a crowd and their desires. Many popular potters have creative
minds, creating new and innovative works on the spot. If you are a self employed potter, you need
to be business savvy in order to survive in today s economy. There will always be a consumer
market for pottery, but one needs to know where to look. According to local potter Ken Tracey,
disipline and motivation are indispensable skills for potters (5). The U.S. Bureau of Labor

can, and does, affect other businesses. When a potter rents or builds a studio, the building s
owner or contractor gains business from the potter. If a property owner is renting a building to a
potter, and the potter goes bankrupt, the property owner is affected, also. Manufacturing is a large
part of the pottery industry, along with self employment. Mass produced pieces are very popular,
being sold at retail stores all over the world. According to O Net OnLine, the top industries are
manufacturing and self employment ( Potters, Manufacturing 16). If a prevalent potter has their
work featured at a gallery or museum, the museum and the surrounding area receive an influx of
business from the fans of said potter. When people travel and pay to see the work, they may rent a
room at a nearby hotel or motel, they eat at nearby restaurants, shop at nearby stores, among other
numerous actions. Pottery is not a stand alon industry its success may affect the surrounding areas

Dachau Concentration Camp Essay
In the early 1930s, the residents of the picturesque city of Dachau, Germany, were completely
unaware of the horrific events about to unfold that would overshadow their city still today. The
citizens of Dachau were oblivious that their city was going to become the origin of concentration
camps and of the Holocaust, the mass murder committed by the Nazi s in World War II. Dachau
Concentration Camp, which would soon be placed on the edge of their community, would serve as
a model for all Nazi extermination camps. This perfect prototype of a Nazi killing machine has

of cruelty; imprisonment in the bunker meant weeks without sufficient food and brutal beatings

one score both times to the same team. My overall record is 33 6. From this amazing year, I got the

Death of the Author
Death of the Author Analysis
Roland Barthes is a French literary philosopher born in 1915. In one of his theories Death of the
author he argues that by giving a text an author is to impose a limit on that text . He claims that
having knowledge of the author s background and purpose for the text restricts the readers
imaginative license to build their own interpretations, and that the author and text are completely
unrelated. Barthes declares, The death of the author is the birth of the reader.
Instead, he calls the author a scriptor , to draw away from the thinking that the author and his/her
single experience is in control over the text. In this way, he makes a point that no writing is original,
and is created based on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Barthes statement would be invalid for autobiographical writing, where the authors are one with the
text, as they are writing about themselves.
In poetry, the author is a significant part of the poem as most poetry is a reflection of the poets
experiences through the use of metaphors and other poetic devices. To ignore this is to diffuse a
poem of its deeper meaning and connections.
We can use Full Moon and Little Frieda by Ted Hughes to argue against Barthes theory. Hughes
wrote this poem about his daughter Frieda s fascination with nature. The poem frames a specific
scene somewhere in the country:
A cool small evening shrunk to a dog bark and the clank of a bucket

And you listening.

A spider s web, tense for the dew s touch.
A pail lifted, still and brimming mirror
To tempt
a first star to a tremor.

Cows are going home in the lane there, looping the hedges with their warm wreaths of breath

A dark river of blood, many boulders,
Balancing unspilled milk.

Moon! you cry suddenly, Moon! Moon!

The moon has stepped back like an artist gazing amazed at a work That points at him amazed.
The poem is fairly vague in terms of setting, and without knowledge of the author one would not
know that Ted Hughes, his wife and two children (one named Frieda) moved to a cottage in
Devon. It was there when he wrote Full Moon and Little Frieda after his wife Sylvia Plath
committed

Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory Of Development
Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory of Development Erik Erikson, a German psychologist of the
early 1900s, is most known for his theory on psychosocial development in humans. He was
heavily influenced by his work with Anna Freud and her father, Sigmund Freud. However, in
his research, he put emphasis on the cultural and social impact on identity development and
studying the ego, which he believed developed with successful crisis resolving throughout life (
Erikson s Stages , 2007). He proposed the life long model of development, consisting of eight
stages. Erikson assumes that in every stage of development, there is a crisis that the individual
must overcome despite the conflict of their psychological needs and the needs of society
(McLeod, 2008, В¶9). With achievement of the basic virtue associated with each stage, the
individual can move forward with their development. The conflict between the ego and societal
experiences, Erikson coined as an identity crisis ( Identity Formation , 2015, В¶2) The ultimate
idea with the stages of development is that these struggles must be overcome by individuals in
order to find their sense of identity and self knowledge. His theory heavily influences education,
however not like many would expect. His research lies in helping people understand the
importance in a positive relationship between students and teachers. Erikson s Career For Erikson

role of another personality. He is simply hiding. It is only in the conclusion, when the when the
war is over, and the need for order and principle and everyday life is restored, that he finally sees
the creation of his other identity В– the masculine figure that conforms to the society s idea of men.

himself В– he simply assumes that everybody else is just... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He then has his misconception that he is the only boy who has the complexity to wear a mask.
Instead, he comes to believe that their appearance and action perfectly conformed to what they
really are. While his peers could be their natural selves, he must put on a mask and gain control
over [his] consciousness. And thus he comes to realize that the difference that separates him
from his peers, other than his sexual orientation, is the mask and the secret, shameful portion of
[his] mind that hides behind it. Contrary to his belief, the narrator does not have a mask on.
Although the narrator believes in a misconception that he is В‘playing the role of a boy, when in
fact, what he considers to be a mask is simply his body and his male appearance. The narrator is
never in a real need to В‘play a role because nobody really actively tries to find out who he really

do. Furthermore, the male body, for the narrator, the male body has significance in the narrator s

the perfection of life and manhood. To the narrator, the body is not only a manifestation of
manliness, it is the embodiment of the untamed

Maus Symbolism
The graphic novel Maus by Art Spiegelman published in 1980 reinforces the ruthlessness of
Nazis, painting them in a deplorable connotation. Set in World War II, the text supports this
theorem through the author s use of symbolism, captions and facial expressions. Each
convention conveys the callousness of Nazis towards Jews, evoking dismay from the readers. In
the first panel, the long shot captures the full position of a Nazi soldier on a silhouetted horse,
grasping a rifle in his hands, which symbolises violence. Clad in army attire, the soldier s upright
posture exemplifies menace as his gaze is fixed upon a Jewish man hunched over a crate filled
with rocks, seemingly too old or weak for such work , as quoted by the caption up top. Thus, the
symbolism of the rifle and the Nazi s upright posture suggest power and authority in comparison to
the mere shovel held by the Jewish man. This reinforces the ruthless characteristic of Nazis by
highlighting their brutal indifference towards the anguish of Jewish people, as also evidenced by
the scornful remark of worthless Jew! in the next panel, evoking despair from the readers.... Show

The alliteration of the ea sound in Jews beaten with no reason emphasises its meaning, with the aid
of the image capturing the deserted town, thus suggesting that indeed, whole towns were pushing
out all Jews. Therefore, the deplorable representation of Nazis is reinforced through the use of
alliteration, caption and symbolism, as well as the darkness of the background, which represents an
ominous connotation. This challenges our values of equality, focusing on the extermination of the
Jewish race committed by the ruthless

the research topic, determining the measures taken by cross border transportation carriers. Then we
will define the methodology consists of the collection of data, the design of questionnaire and the
selection of the interviewees. The following section consists of detailed analysis of the two

all the findings and suggestions followed by the Appendix.
2.Literature Review One of the important study on cross border freight transportation was done by
(Woudsma, 1999). The main purpose of this study was to understand the nature of cross border
market and to study the impacts of deregulation and Free trade agreements on the market. Before
deregulation, the trucking companies from both countries didn t compete with each other directly.
They were engaging in inter line agreements. In these agreements, a firm based in one nation would
handle freight till the border crossing and hand over to another firm based in the other country to
handle freight from there onwards. After deregulation, these firms could establish operations across
the borders. Thus, both U.S and Canadian trucking firms were directly competing with each other
for market share in both territories. Due to free trade agreements, the demand pattern had

Life and work of Leonardo da Vinci and why he is one of the world greatest artists in the history.
The world greatest artist Leonardo da vinci once said, A beautiful body perishes, but a work of art

An Italian artist from renaissance has changed our world to a better place by his creative mind and

work was not just a mere piece of art? Life and work of Leonardo da Vinci and why he is the world

period. He is one of the most intelligent and talented people of all time. The term Renaissance

The Impact Of Safety On The Oil Industry
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The concept of safety in the oil industry is of much importance during
offshore drilling procedures and cannot be exempted or compromised in any way that seems to
deviate from offshore safety culture in the Outer continental shelf. Offshore Safety regulations
encompass all forms of procedures that have been designed to promote safety culture in the
industry as well as the preservation of lives and property. Industry as well as Government
regulations have been in place for some time to help provide operators with guidelines to during
their various drilling operations in the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).. Since huge amount of

This then becomes a lesson learned and recommendations are put in place with the aim of
avoiding a similar future disaster. These Fundamental changes are crucial to a successful
operations with accidents reduced to the barest minimum. On April 20, 2010 BP s Macondo
well that was being drilled in the Gulf of Mexico experienced a blowout and lasted for about 87
days and became a memorable event in the history of the Oil industry and mankind as a whole.
The 87 day nightmare did massive damage to lives and properties, the water body in which the
well was drilled and the marine life that resides in it. This resulted in federal lawsuits and fines
ranging into billions of dollars. Per the Buffalo report delivered by the Department of interior on
May 27, 2010, a failed cement job coupled with inexperienced personnel were the central cause
of this horrible Oil industry disaster. The regulations that existed before this incident as well as
how these regulations have been impacted by the blowout will be the main focus of this report.
Also to be discussed at length will be any challenges that have been faced by Safety regulators
faced during the implementation of these regulations. INTRODUCTION There exists a popular
saying if you think safety is expensive try an accident . This saying goes to explain the damages
that a company suffers ranging from the loss lives of its personnel and properties and the need for
its workers to adopt and adhere to safe work practices should

Satire and Stereotyping in the Birth of a Nation and...
Spike Lee s film Bamboozled (2000), cinematically stages American mass entertainment s history
of discrimination with humiliating minstrel stereotypes which was first brought to film in 1915
by D.W. Griffith s The Birth of a Nation. В‘Blackface minstrelsy is a disturbing legacy that began
as a tradition in the early 1800s on stage, with white actors using burnt corks to darken their skin
and allowing them to portray African American slaves, usually as lazy, child like providers of
comic relief (4). This eventually evolved into Vaudeville style parody shows consisting of songs,
dances and comic skits. This tradition represented an accepted way of looking at African Americans
and was the first form of American mass culture that created... Show more content on

For example the audience may believe that the masked Ku Klux Klan riders were white behind
their masks and have in reality may have tried to forget that many of the fleeing African Americans
were actually white actors.
American whiteness as articulated by Birth of a Nation is built on stereotypes, and this is precisely
why minstrelsy might have the power to resist racism. Minstrel performances relied on stereotypes
to evoke their opposites. It is possible to assume that the discourse of mass entertainment from its
minstrel days to current film and possibly beyond, recognizing and accepting blackface
conventions and stereotypes were key, almost necessary conditions of American whiteness.
Minstrelsy took the productive ambivalence inherent to the stereotype and magnified it to increase
the stereotype s inevitable undoing of itself (4). But in Birth of a Nation, the determining concept
of the stereotype that makes sense is disrupted by the inevitable context provided by narrative: in
the film s narrative, African Americans are seen gently working and playing for their master s
benefit prior to the Civil War. This stereotypical representation draws on myths that blackface
minstrelsy seemed to ally to the politics of white supremacy; it worked to promote propaganda.
Prior to the Civil War, the film explains African Americans were docile and happy on the
plantation because of slave laws imposed by

He preferred the distinction because of what it implies. It implies a structure, a kind of analysis, as
well as a kind of tradition behind it. In 1945 John Entenza, using his magazine Art Architecture,
started the Case Study Houses Program as part of his attempts to further modernism. The Case
Study Houses aimed to produce contemporary solutions to house design and to offer prototypes
from which low and medium cost housing could be developed. Charles was involved in designing
two Case Study Houses, both located in Pacific Palisades, his own house as well as John Entenza s.
The Eames house was designed with Ray, with initial contributions from Eero, and the second
Entenza house was fabricated through contributions of both Charles and Eero Saarinen. They
created two houses that shared a site, architect, and basic steel frame, but differed completely in
form. They have been called technological twins but architectural opposites.
The Eames house focused on the American Dream of anyone having the ability to own their own
house on their own land. Their original goal to provide low cost housing was starting to develop,
using prefabricated steel to develop one of the first houses of its kind. It reflected so much of
Charles and Ray Eames. In their brief of the house they expressed

If the universe is so bad, or even half so bad, how on earth did human beings ever come to
attribute it to the activity of a wise and good Creator? (Lewis, C.S. The Problem of Pain, p. 3.)
Prehistoric man first wrote of fear of a supernatural being, and Lewis describes a feeling of awe
and fear which he calls Numinous. He describes man s consciousness of morality, and the
inherent feeling of knowing right from wrong. God is all powerful and good, yet the world is
full of evil, tragedy, loss and suffering. Lewis argues that life cannot exist independent of the
natural world and because we have the freedom to make choices, human suffering is inevitable.
We have seen that in a stable and meaningful universe a possibility of pain is inherent; and in a
universe of creatures, inclined, by virtue of their fallen nature, to move away from God, evil
becomes, so to speak, endemic. (Bacz, Jacek.) God is full of love and goodness. Man, however, is
not perfect, we make mistakes, we make bad choices, we can be wicked and evil resulting in great
suffering to ourselves and others. The pain we experience is the mechanism to bring us closer to
God, and to become blessed and

Fair Trade Is A Non Profit Based Out Of Oakland California
.What is Fair Trade?
Fair Trade is a certification from Fair Trade USA, a non profit based out of Oakland California, that
certifies that the product you are buying has been made with the utmost social and environmental
responsibility. I.E. that the manufacturer was not abusing their workers or harming the environment
when they make their product. To quote the paper: As the leading third party certifier of fair trade
products in North America, FT USA s certification stamp or seal of approval was also more than
just a label; it ensured adherence to a rigorous set of standards so that purchases are socially and
environmentally responsible. As well as: FT USA s Fair Trade Certified label was distinctly
focused on empowering farmers and workers to fight poverty through trade, and to protect the
environment.
Originally it had a focus on coffee, an industry where workers are commonly abused or severely
underpaid. But the certification has since expanded to cover organic, environmental, and certain
company specific standards for a huge amount of products.
2.How does Fair Trade certification process differ from Utz Certified or others?
Fair Trade extends beyond just setting a few social and environmental standards. The big
difference between Fair Trade and RA or UTZ is the fact that Fair Trade sets a standard for
community empowerment. They demanded specific floor prices, community development
premiums, and an overall empowering structure for farmers and such. The Fair

Social Security And The Great Depression
Social Security

Mrs. Joy Branch
14 November 2014
Social security was created in response to the Great Depression. The purpose of it is to protect
aged and disabled persons from illness expenses, to give children a chance to grow up healthy and
secure, keep families together, and to augment the material needs of individuals and families. The
Social Security Act was first passed in 1935 and later amended in 1956 to provide disability
benefits. Some programs included under the Social Security Act are: retirement insurance,
survivor s insurance, disability insurance, and some public assistance and welfare services. The
Social Security program is meant to provide benefits, social security numbers, and generate its
own finances. The first Social Security Numbers(SSN) were first issued in 1936. These cards
each all have their own number used to track the earning histories of U.S. Workers. The cards
also were used to determine Social Security benefit entitlement and benefit levels. The use of the
SSN later expanded in terms of use. As of December2008, the Social Security Administration
(SSA) had issued over 450 million original SSNs, and nearly every legal resident of the United
States had one (Carolyn Puckett). The SSN led to what is mostly used today to identify and
gather information on a person. This method is particularly used when applying for jobs. The

Importance Of Tidal Energy

December 17, 2017
Why should tidal energy be a common renewable energy source in the future?
Tidal energy is a form of hydroelectricity that is provided from the rise and fall of tides. Due to the
Moon s gravitational force, bodies of water rise and fall, the force created can be turned into a form
of renewable energy. Tidal power was first introduced in the 19th century in U.S and Europe. In
1966, the Rance Tidal Power Station, was operated in France, being the first large scale tidal
system. Tidal energy is more predictable than solar panels and wind turbines. The sun isn t always
out to provide light and the wind depends on the weather. Tides are almost always there and the
ocean is more understood than the temperature or the sun. Tidal energy is much more reliable and
renewable than other sources such as fossil fuels which cause acid rain, and nuclear power and its
radiation. Since the ocean is much denser than air, tidal turbines generate more electricity and
therefore are more efficient compared to wind turbines. Hydro power in general is considered more
efficient and converts the most energy to electricity than other renewable energy sources.
Tidal power is also inexpensive compared to other renewable energy sources as shown below in
this chart.
Tidal power plants also have a very long lifespan. The oldest plant, La Rance, in

Mishal Atiqur Due to technology advancing, the Western World has changed its industrial
workforce into more of a technological one. In this new work environment, service (white collar)
workers have become more valued than labor (blue collar) workers. Overtime, Western cultures
have created an assumption that service workers typically have higher paying salaries, higher
statuses, and more demanding positions when compared to labor workers. On the other hand, labor
workers are labeled as uneducated, unskillful, and lower in status. Because of these assumptions,
people lean towards an intellectual job rather than blue collar. Even schools now are focusing more

fight for money on a rug, he wonders if this rug will be where he gives his speech. Finding himself
facing off with the biggest boy participating in the battle, the narrator only thinks about what the
watching white people would be happiest to see. He stopped fighting back against the brutal
beating he was getting for the amusement of racist, rich people because he believed that his defeat
would please the watching crowd. Even when the narrator was embarrassed and forced to claw for
fake money, he was disappointed with the thought that he might not be able to deliver his speech.
Even after disrespect, racism, and even outright violence, the narrator was still very eager to
please the white men in the room. The older narrator recalls an incident in which he bumped into a
tall blond one night. That man called him an insulting name and in retaliation, the narrator began
beating the man and eventually pulled out his knife. The older narrator does stop his violent
impulse, but looking back on it, regrets his mercy. The extremely violent reaction is a change from
the passive and eager to please young narrator. Although they are the same person, separated by
twenty years, their reaction to the racism and violence of the world is very

Anatomy And Physiology Of Rotator Cuff Tendonitis
Rotator Cuff Tendonitis
Abby Johnson
Mr. Mejewski
Anatomy and Physiology
Hour 4
What does a gardener, an athlete and a carpenter all have in common? Easy, they all have a higher
risk of acquiring tendinitis in their shoulders, more specifically rotator cuff tendonitis. Shoulders
are a very important component to the body, as they allow you to move your arms in any direction
you choose. Seeing that rotator cuff tendinitis is very frequently diagnosed, I was interested to learn
more about it and what makes it so common. A shoulderis one of the most complex joints of the
body. The anatomy of the shoulder starts where the humerusfits into the scapula almost as if it
were mimicking a ball and socket. The scapula has a little tip of itself overlooking the tendons of
the shoulder called the acromion and a bit of itself fanning out, a part called the coracoid. Also
connected to the scapula is the clavicle or collarbone. Another very important component to the
shoulder is the rotator cuff, this is the most vital part to rotator cuff tendonitis. It is composed of
four muscles and of various tendons that surround the shoulder socket that allow it to connect the
upper arm and the shoulder blade together. Protecting the rotator cuff is is a small sac of fluid
called a bursa. The humerus fits relatively loosely into the shoulder joint. This gives the shoulder a
wide range of motion, but also makes it vulnerable to injury. In macroscopic detail, the shoulder

Robert Frost s Life Through Poetry
March 23, 2016
Robert Frost Reflects Life Through Poetry
It is easy to express your emotions, and feelings through poetry. Which is exactly what Robert Frost
has done through his entire career. Each poem Robert Frost has written, has meaning behind it all.
He has gone through an extreme amount of events, and tragedies in his life. Frost has been through
an unimaginable amount of losses, deaths, and loneliness throughout his years. Throughout his life
his poetry has had a huge impact on him, the situations and losses, and emotions he had
encountered in his life were expressed and showed throughout his poetry.
Robert had suffered from emotional and physical abuse throughout his childhood, which had
caused him to live his life being apprehensive, and afraid. Even though these things had caused
him to be emotionally unstable, and leave him fearful for his entire life; they had also allowed
him to be one of the most incredible poets in history. Frost s father was an alcoholic who had
anger issues as well, one time he had whipped young Roberts s legs repeatedly with a dog chain
(Postema, 160). Frost was born in San Francisco, where he had lived for 11 years, until his father
had passed away due to Tuberculosis in 1885. After his father s passing, himself, his mother and
his sister Jeanie had moved to Eastern Massachusetts. Isabelle Frost (Robert s mother), had helped
her family by getting a job to be a teacher, which allowed her to continue teaching and
homeschooling her own

Participation Sociology
Hypothesis
The main level of inequity, after applying Figueroa s five level framework of equity, and studying
the survey information, all aspects of the framework were found to affect the participation, but the
main level being the institutional level.
Introduction
Touch is fast and skilful game attracting participants of all shapes and sizes, genders and
backgrounds. Touch began as a training game for the two rugby codes during the 1950 s and 60 s
it was never seen as a sport in its own right.
Today touch enjoys a healthy level of participation both on a national front, with World Cups and
Trans Tasman competitions as part of the representative calendar.

Certainly, Touch being a non contact sport showing no aspects of rough, aggressive behaviour, is
seen, by the majority, as not a very suitable sport for males to play, and a game involving a football
is seen as not an appropriate game for girls.
Structural
The structural level is concerned with the factors such as resources, rewards, social position and
power (Kirk et al. 1999 p.130)
Major Rugby Union playing countries are Australia, England, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand,
Scotland, South Africa and Wales.
The minor nations include Argentina, Canada, Fiji, Georgia, Japan, Namibia, Romania, Samoa,
Spain, Tonga, United States, Uruguay.

Because the of huge international media cover, Rugby League is a highly popular game both in the
ILC institute, (See appendix Graph 1) and internationally.
Players of this highly popular game are in turn regarded to have high social position,
Whereas Touch, now played in 23 countries across the globe, including Great Britain, USA, Japan,
NZ, and Canada
(http://www.aussport.com.au/sponsorship/touchsa.htm), has almost no media coverage, giving it a
low social placing. Players of Major Rugby Union also get generous rewards (clubs paying them to
play), whereas major touch club players get no money.
Institutional

The Namesake Film Analysis
At the start of the film, Ashoke and Ashima leave India for America and their life together
begins. The move from the big city of Calcutta to the big city of New York is much lonelier
because they have no family nearby and the land is unfamiliar. The climate is also different, it is
winter time and the weather is cold. Ashima is learning very quickly that the living conditions are
different. Ashoke explains to her that they have gas twenty four hours a day, and the difference
between hot and cold water symbols. Also there was no need for her to boil the water for drinking;
she could just drink straight from the tap. Life in America is different and at times lonely, however
Ashoke believes it s the land of opportunity. When Ashima... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The clashes are both cultural and generation based. Teenagers in any culture choose not to listen to
their parents, and play loud music as Gogol did in the movie. The Ganguli home is often filled
with Bengali family and friends, and that provides a support system for Ashoke and Ashima. It
makes the Ganguli s feel like they did when they were in India, surrounded by family. Gogol
receives some advice from his aunt before leaving for college. She tells him to have fun, but
come home and marry a Bengali woman. After Gogol leaves home, he meets Maxine who is
American in every sense of the word. She is in the upper social class, and Gogol is attracted to
her family because they are American. They call Gogol, Nick short for Nikhil. He distances
himself from his parents by not returning phones calls, and upsets Ashima when he would rather
visit Maxine s parents than his own. Gogol does decide to stop at his parents on the way to visit
Maxine s, out of possible guilt for not keeping in touch. Gogol introduces Maxine, and she calls
Ashima by her first name. It s apparent that is not the respectful introduction Ashima would have
preferred. Again, a clash in cultures, and what s considered appropriate. Gogol and Maxine leave,
and Maxine states she would ve never guessed those were his parents. Gogol celebrates his birthday

Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is the second most common cause of blindness in people over the age of
50, and it is frequently related to the aging process. It is a disorder of the retina where the cells
of the macula degenerate until only the periphery vision remains. Women, Caucasians, and Asian
Americans seem to be more vulnerable when compared to males, Mexican Americans, and
Africans. Macular degeneration specifically effects individuals ability to read, recognize people

for nurses to be aware of all interventions so that they are knowledgeable in the ones that may help

not medical related. The future trend for the treatment of age related macular degeneration looks to
be improving as studies are being conducted on gene therapy, human retinal transplantation,
artificial vision, retinal prosthesis and neuroprotection. Macular degeneration continues to present a
challenge to individuals who are striving for independence in functioning, as well as to
professionals looking for intervention strategies that might prevent or alter the nature of the
condition. (Feret, Steinweg, Griffin, Glover,

Hands-Free While Driving
Although using a cell phone with a hands free while driving may seem easier than using one
without a hands free, both are equally distracting, maybe even worse. The brain can t handle
both tasks at once, and the reaction time is slower when you are doing anything other than just
driving. Driving while talking on a hands free phone can be just as distracting as talking on a
hand held phone, says researchers at the University of Sussex in England. A 2009 report by the
Transport Research Laboratory found that using a hands free while driving can be more
dangerous than drunk driving. The 2013 study by the University of Alberta, Canada, declared
drivers using hands free devices were significantly more likely to make potentially hazardous
errors. A train collided with a truck in Rosedale, Maryland in 2013 and damaged nearby
businesses and home. The truck s driver was at fault and said he was distracted talking on a
hands free phone. Last year Sharmila Mistry got charged with careless driving after going over a

bans all cell phone use for all drivers, but thirty eight states and the District of Columbia ban all

people say the bans aren t really enforceable. It s hard for police to tell if someone is using a
hands free phone. It would be the question of whether a driver using a hands free phone actually on
the phone, talking with a passenger or to themselves. Others argue that drivers do all types of
distracting things while driving like eating, arguing with children in the back seat, and listening to
music, so it makes little sense to outlaw one

The Fall Of Russia
Undoubtedly, Russia is the largest country in the world, spanning an area of 17.1 million square
kilometers (Paranyushkin). Geographically, Russia is astounding in it s vast, treeless plains that
span for hundreds of miles known as the Steppes (). The region of Siberia, which supports one of
the harshest climates in the world, dominates most of Northern Asia and extends the country s
borders further past Europe. This marks it as an influential actor in the international community.
Currently, Russias president is Vladimir Putin, who was in power from 2000 to 2008 and then

Inevitably, diminishing oil prices weaken Russia s GDP and will continue to pull its economy
in a downward direction following each drop in price. Moreover, the value of Russia s ruble has
experienced a decrease in value since the fall of 2014 weakening exchange rates (). As of today,
one Russian ruble is only worth 0.017 USD. Along with the country s weak economic growth,
Russia s annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of war in Ukraine have contributed to the
devaluation of Russian currency ().
Noticeably, Russia s economic struggles have affected its people, especially those who live in
poverty. Today, roughly 13.4% of Russia s people live in poverty (). For this reason, Russia s
economic inequality continues to be one of its biggest issues. According to the investment bank
Credit Suisse, Russia has the highest rate of inequality in the world with 35% of the household
income belonging to an elite few (). However, when exchange rates are taken into account, the
average wealth of Russia has decreased overall. The Credit Suisse s reports continues to source the
issue by stating, At the time of transition there were hopes that Russia would convert to a high
skilled, high income economy with strong social protection programs inherited from Soviet Union

that sprouted after the fall of the Soviet Union may be only part of the issue. For

Differences And Comparison Of Mercantalists And Physiocrats
Comparison of Mercantalists and Physiocrats. Conclude which one do you support?
Mercantalism:
This economic theory was dominant in Western Europe during the 16th to the mid 19th centuries.
This school of thought states that wealth of a nation is primarily determined by the possession of
precious metals such as gold and silver. This exchange of precious metals is known as Bullionism.
Their main goal was to promote exports and restricts imports in order to hoard more of precious
metals. Major tenets of Mercantalism were:
Bullionism
They equated wealth of nation to accumulation of precious metals; bullions. Therefore, exports
were required to accumulate lots of precious metals as wealth.
Nationalism
The nation must be strong to compete. They believed a nation is well off only at the expense of
another country.

Moreover, they also promote international trade which results in increase in market choices.
Importing enables a country to get high quality products at lower costs saving a great deal of
money. Mercantilism is based on the complete use of natural resources, but in reality natural
resources are finite When these resources would run out completely, economy might collapse.
However, Physiocracy believes in Law of Diminishing Returns , thus this school of though is more
valid and logical in meeting future contingencies. The rich gets richer in a system of mercantilism
and the working class gets poor and stagnant. In mercantilist system, colonies are forced to sell
their local raw materials at low prices to mother country and are later forced to purchase
manufactured goods at a higher price from mother country. This creates wider wealth gap between
the different income classes. Therefore, comparatively Physiocrates is a better school of thought in
term of its characteristics

Imagine living in a world where thinking was against the law and that only used the most simple

In the book 1984, the vocabulary is quickly decreasing in words, mirroring the use of text talk
instead of saying or typing full words. On page 46 in 1984 Syme states that newspeak, the
language used in Britannia, is the only language that shrinks every year. In the modern times
phrases such as LOL, LMAO, and BRB are becoming more common. Therefore, one could see
the similarities are clear, efficiency is valued far more that having a more formal conversation. In

Integrity and Success
What is the line between cheating and just helping out? Is there a hierarchy of honesty which
places people into categories based on the extent of their cheating? Whether or not there are
different levels of dishonesty, people often sacrifice their integrity in order to succeed. However,
is this always the best method of getting ahead in life? While it may be easier to excel in the
professional world by cheating, Tom Hanks, Simon Cowell, and Malala Yousafzai have proven that
success can come from being honest, and that one does not have to sacrifice his integrity to achieve.
Actors and celebrities may enjoy the spotlight constantly surrounding them, but their massive fame
and success never come without a backstory of hard work and dedication. While sometimes, fame
comes easier by cheating, being dishonest, and using unfair advantages to get ahead, there are some
celebrities whose brutal honesty and integrity have helped them gain fame and respect from their
followers. One prime example would be actor Tom Hanks, whose success in movies cannot be

A Theory Of Justice By John Rawls Essay
In my discussion of this piece of text I will attempt to present an argument which suggests rational
individuals behind a veil of ignorance would assent to the two primary principles of justice found
in Rawls A theory of justice . I will also analyse the extract, in particular debating whether various
propositions made by Rawls in this extract are true. Initially it is important to situate the extract of
discussion. Section 3 of A theory of justiceis the opening of Rawls argument in A theory of justice ,
where he introduces his original position, stating how rational individuals in a hypothetical
scenario, behind a veil of ignorance, would agree to two principles of justice which would
determine the way social institutions would be organised and how primary goods would be
distributed. This section also shows Rawls agreement with the idea of hypothetical consent , an
idea which suggests that because free and rational individuals behind a veil of ignorance would
agree to Rawls two principles of social justice; they hypothetically consent to the principles of the
social contract.
Initially I will analyse this extract in detail, focusing the claims and propositions made by Rawls.
Rawls claims that no society can...be a scheme of cooperation which men enter voluntarily . Rawls
belief in this leads to his agreement with the idea of hypothetical consent, however, what if it is
possible for society to be a scheme of voluntary consent, perhaps taking part in a vote

Recent Mergers or Acquisitions
A merger or merger of equals is often financed by an all stock deal (a stock swap). An all stock
deal occurs when all of the owners of the outstanding stock of either company get the same amount

are worth more together than apart (Wikipedia, Free Encyclopedia, 2006).
An acquisition (of un equals, one large buying one small) can involve a cash and debt combination,

  • 2. Role Of Fatma Begum Bengal could show the way to lessen gender imbalance in Indian film industry One might not have heard the name of Fatma Begum. Indeed, she isn t quite the household name. But her achievement as the very first Indian woman to ever single handedly direct a movie is engraved in stone, and will always be. The year was 1926, at a time when world cinema was still experimenting with the science and technology of motion pictures. Indian cinema had already taken long strides by then, but produced only acting roles for women. Yet, breaking the mould, Fatma Begum established her own production company Fatma Films and went on to direct Bulbule Paristan! Perhaps without even realising the effect of her achievement, Fatma laid the foundation stone for a generation of women, who sought to be employed by the burgeoning film industry in a role other than that of an actress. The Southern film industry encompassing three major languages: Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada did not see its own female driven films until the 1960s, when Savitri Ganesan the spouse of the iconic Gemini Ganesan directed Chinnari Papalu. When one reads about it, it seems like a rosy story. But women had to make unimaginable strides and struggles to even tread on the path that was paved by Fatma Begum forty years earlier. Savitri Ganesan herself... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And the other industries have been graciously receptive of the quality of art that is produced by Bengali makers. • 4. How Does Death Influence Poe s Behavior Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1809. His father David Poe Jr. left the family early into his adolescence and his mother Eliza Poe died of tuberculosis when Edgar was three years old. Separated from his siblings William and Rosalie Poe, went to live on a farm with John and Frances Allan, a successful couple in the tobacco industry in Richmond, Virginia. Edgar and Frances seemed to get along really well, but Poe never seemed to bond with John. He preferred to write rather than earn money, Poe was known to write on John s business papers. When Edgar was waiting for his answer for West Point he lived with his grandmother and his aunt Mrs. Clemm. He finally got his answer and was able to attend West point as a cadet. His time there... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another thing that Funk and Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia tells us is Poe drank to excess at times and may have taken drugs but the extent of those habits may have been exaggerated by some of his biographers. He was a highly productive writer and worker until the died. Edgar died two years after his wife died. According to The Smithsonian Mag One of the most recent theories of Edgar Allan Poe s death suggest the author succumbed to a brain tumor which influences Poes behavior before his death. When Poe died he was buried, rather unconstrained, in an unmarked grave in a Baltimore graveyard. I became insane, with the long intervals of horrible sanity Edgar was an orphan by the age of two, he was very intelligent by the time he was 8 he had learned to speak Latin and who had mastered even the most complex Latin words by the time he was a teenager. Poe was an athletic student who stuck up for those who couldn t do it themselves against the biggest and baddest bullies and loved to help people and he was a deeply connected with Baltimore. • 8. Christian Calling History The history of Christianity, in the early years, reflected on the calling or the vocation. The term calling was usually dedicated to a person called lead the people, i.e., a pastor or member or the clergy. This is the time to be convinced that a professional call to ministry is a biblical concept. Paul supports this in Eph. 4:11 12, And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. In keeping with church history, our calling comes from the knowledge that we have of God and the theology that we ascertain from Him. Church reformer, Martin Luther, was against the theology of glory but was for the theology of the cross. GonzГҐlez from, The Story of Christianity, of Luther, says, ... For example, accepting the calling so that I can get certain perks that come with the calling, i.e., being recognized as the minister, sitting up front during meetings, having an armor bearer, etc. Rather our calling should always keep us focused on the cross of Christ and the revelation that it brings as we seek after Him daily. Ephesians 1:18 (New King James Version) shows us, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Our calling should continually rest on understanding the mind of God and where He is leading us in this walk with Him. Throughout bible and church history, there were many that were called to do a specific task for God. As I opened with Smith referring to Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, and Paul, I would like to take a moment and reflect on the some of the bible heroes who were called to lead a people to the divine nature of ... As each area is different the selection pressures are different, in which why their characteristics are different as they are selected for their habitat. An example of selection includes warrior ants, in which they have chemicals that tell other ants in their family not to attack. Some of these ants have adapted and learnt to imitate the chemical signal from other colonies so they can invade another colony and the workers wouldn t know (Your dictionary, 2015). For the bird their beaks would have either originated from plant or seeds, over time as they would have began to go off into other parts of the and they would have has to develop their beaks to fit their certain food type. Kubrick s Use Of Satire In Dr. Strangelove In 1964 with the cold war and Cuban missile crisis still fresh in the minds of many, Stanley Kubrick masterpiece Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb focuses on the terrifying newer technology of the hydrogen bomb and the fear that comes in congruence with having such powerful weaponry. • 17. Death of the Author Death of the Author Analysis Roland Barthes is a French literary philosopher born in 1915. In one of his theories Death of the author he argues that by giving a text an author is to impose a limit on that text . He claims that having knowledge of the author s background and purpose for the text restricts the readers imaginative license to build their own interpretations, and that the author and text are completely unrelated. Barthes declares, The death of the author is the birth of the reader. Instead, he calls the author a scriptor , to draw away from the thinking that the author and his/her single experience is in control over the text. In this way, he makes a point that no writing is original, and is created based on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Barthes statement would be invalid for autobiographical writing, where the authors are one with the text, as they are writing about themselves. In poetry, the author is a significant part of the poem as most poetry is a reflection of the poets experiences through the use of metaphors and other poetic devices. To ignore this is to diffuse a poem of its deeper meaning and connections. We can use Full Moon and Little Frieda by Ted Hughes to argue against Barthes theory. Hughes wrote this poem about his daughter Frieda s fascination with nature. The poem frames a specific scene somewhere in the country: A cool small evening shrunk to a dog bark and the clank of a bucket
 And you listening.
A spider s web, tense for the dew s touch.
A pail lifted, still and brimming mirror
To tempt a first star to a tremor.

The poem is fairly vague in terms of setting, and without knowledge of the author one would not know that Ted Hughes, his wife and two children (one named Frieda) moved to a cottage in Devon. Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory Of Development Erik Erikson s Psychosocial Theory of Development Erik Erikson, a German psychologist of the early 1900s, is most known for his theory on psychosocial development in humans. He was heavily influenced by his work with Anna Freud and her father, Sigmund Freud. However, in his research, he put emphasis on the cultural and social impact on identity development and studying the ego, which he believed developed with successful crisis resolving throughout life ( Erikson s Stages , 2007). He proposed the life long model of development, consisting of eight stages. Erikson assumes that in every stage of development, there is a crisis that the individual must overcome despite the conflict of their psychological needs and the needs of society (McLeod, 2008, В¶9). With achievement of the basic virtue associated with each stage, the individual can move forward with their development. The conflict between the ego and societal experiences, Erikson coined as an identity crisis ( Identity Formation , 2015, В¶2) The ultimate idea with the stages of development is that these struggles must be overcome by individuals in order to find their sense of identity and self knowledge. His theory heavily influences education, however not like many would expect. His research lies in helping people understand the importance in a positive relationship between students and teachers. • 20. Maus Symbolism The graphic novel Maus by Art Spiegelman published in 1980 reinforces the ruthlessness of Nazis, painting them in a deplorable connotation. Set in World War II, the text supports this theorem through the author s use of symbolism, captions and facial expressions. Each convention conveys the callousness of Nazis towards Jews, evoking dismay from the readers. In the first panel, the long shot captures the full position of a Nazi soldier on a silhouetted horse, grasping a rifle in his hands, which symbolises violence. Clad in army attire, the soldier s upright posture exemplifies menace as his gaze is fixed upon a Jewish man hunched over a crate filled with rocks, seemingly too old or weak for such work , as quoted by the caption up top. Thus, the symbolism of the rifle and the Nazi s upright posture suggest power and authority in comparison to the mere shovel held by the Jewish man. Griffith s The Birth of a Nation. В‘Blackface minstrelsy is a disturbing legacy that began as a tradition in the early 1800s on stage, with white actors using burnt corks to darken their skin and allowing them to portray African American slaves, usually as lazy, child like providers of comic relief (4). American whiteness as articulated by Birth of a Nation is built on stereotypes, and this is precisely why minstrelsy might have the power to resist racism. Minstrel performances relied on stereotypes to evoke their opposites. It is possible to assume that the discourse of mass entertainment from its minstrel days to current film and possibly beyond, recognizing and accepting blackface conventions and stereotypes were key, almost necessary conditions of American whiteness. Minstrelsy took the productive ambivalence inherent to the stereotype and magnified it to increase the stereotype s inevitable undoing of itself (4). But in Birth of a Nation, the determining concept of the stereotype that makes sense is disrupted by the inevitable context provided by narrative: in the film s narrative, African Americans are seen gently working and playing for their master s benefit prior to the Civil War. This stereotypical representation draws on myths that blackface minstrelsy seemed to ally to the politics of white supremacy; it worked to promote propaganda. The purpose of it is to protect aged and disabled persons from illness expenses, to give children a chance to grow up healthy and secure, keep families together, and to augment the material needs of individuals and families. The Social Security Act was first passed in 1935 and later amended in 1956 to provide disability benefits. Some programs included under the Social Security Act are: retirement insurance, survivor s insurance, disability insurance, and some public assistance and welfare services. The Social Security program is meant to provide benefits, social security numbers, and generate its own finances. The first Social Security Numbers(SSN) were first issued in 1936. These cards each all have their own number used to track the earning histories of U.S. Workers. The cards also were used to determine Social Security benefit entitlement and benefit levels. The use of the SSN later expanded in terms of use. As of December2008, the Social Security Administration (SSA) had issued over 450 million original SSNs, and nearly every legal resident of the United States had one (Carolyn Puckett). • 36. Importance Of Tidal Energy Electricity Culminating Renewable Energy Project Nazia Nusrat SNC 1D A. Cook December 17, 2017 Why should tidal energy be a common renewable energy source in the future? Tidal energy is a form of hydroelectricity that is provided from the rise and fall of tides. Due to the Moon s gravitational force, bodies of water rise and fall, the force created can be turned into a form of renewable energy. Tidal power was first introduced in the 19th century in U.S and Europe. In 1966, the Rance Tidal Power Station, was operated in France, being the first large scale tidal system. Tidal energy is more predictable than solar panels and wind turbines. The sun isn t always out to provide light and the wind depends on the weather. Tides are almost always there and the ocean is more understood than the temperature or the sun. Tidal energy is much more reliable and renewable than other sources such as fossil fuels which cause acid rain, and nuclear power and its radiation. Since the ocean is much denser than air, tidal turbines generate more electricity and therefore are more efficient compared to wind turbines. Hydro power in general is considered more efficient and converts the most energy to electricity than other renewable energy sources. Tidal power is also inexpensive compared to other renewable energy sources as shown below in this chart. Tidal power plants also have a very long lifespan. The oldest plant, La Rance, in ... Easy, they all have a higher risk of acquiring tendinitis in their shoulders, more specifically rotator cuff tendonitis. Shoulders are a very important component to the body, as they allow you to move your arms in any direction you choose. Seeing that rotator cuff tendinitis is very frequently diagnosed, I was interested to learn more about it and what makes it so common. A shoulderis one of the most complex joints of the body. The anatomy of the shoulder starts where the humerusfits into the scapula almost as if it were mimicking a ball and socket. The scapula has a little tip of itself overlooking the tendons of the shoulder called the acromion and a bit of itself fanning out, a part called the coracoid. Also connected to the scapula is the clavicle or collarbone. Another very important component to the shoulder is the rotator cuff, this is the most vital part to rotator cuff tendonitis. It is composed of four muscles and of various tendons that surround the shoulder socket that allow it to connect the upper arm and the shoulder blade together. Protecting the rotator cuff is is a small sac of fluid called a bursa. The humerus fits relatively loosely into the shoulder joint. This gives the shoulder a wide range of motion, but also makes it vulnerable to injury. In macroscopic detail, the shoulder looks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
