What is the Good Life Essay A popular saying is live life in the moment. People believe that by
doing this, they will live life to their fullest potential, and this will lead to the good life. This is a
good theory, but it is not actually a good idea to life live this way. This is shown by both
Herodotus, The History the story of Solon and Croesus, and by the Mike Webster Sports Injury
series by Greg Garber. In both of the texts, the fictional Croesus, and the real life Mike Webster both
lived their lives in the moment, and they actually provide the most significant horrible warnings to
show what is not the good life. By living in the moment, neither of these two actually thought
about the future while they were living their good lives. If they had thought about the future, and
the repercussions that could happen if their way of life was ended, then they may have been able
to avoid the inevitable fall that both of them faced. Webster and Croesus both lived the good life
for a time, and through both of their stories, we can see that to truly have lived the good life, one
must die living it.
While both Webster and Croesus undergo very similar crucibles, there are a few distinct differences
between the texts that complement each other, so by understanding one of the texts more clearly,
the other can be better understood, which in turn, leads to a better understanding of the good life.

height on the brink of drastic change and conflict. In this Historical fiction novel Conde
introduces the major theme of change, which is brought about through the spread of foreign
religions, the rise of the slave trade, and the death of traditional ways in Segu. These major
themes are conveyed through the use of the use of the Traore family and their four sons Tiekoro,

Abstract This paper presents the design of an optimized Compressive Sensing (CS) based image
compression technique for data transmission over mobile wireless noisy channel. The proposed
technique is more robust to channel noise. It uses individual measurement driven coding scheme,
which facilitates simpler encoder design. The shift of computational burden from encoder to
decoder is more suitable for mobile devices applications where computational power and battery
life are limited. This paper also presents a novel quantizer which allows the encoder to dynamically
adapt to the channel conditions and provide optimum performance.

Augustine, Confessions Book Review At its most basic, an autobiography is the story of a person s
life, written by that person. However St. Augustine s Confessions is not the run of the mill
autobiography, in many circles it is said that Augustine invented the modern autobiography with
this interpretation. Augustine s writing isn t about pleasing an overarching audience like a lot of
autobiographies or books in general try to do. The audience Augustine is speaking to is the single
entity that influenced his entire life more than any other, God (as seen in Christianity). Augustine s
autobiography is unique in several ways. The Confessions is not a straightforward account of the
events of Augustine s life. Augustine frequently leaves out events that readers may consider
important. The death of his father is mentioned only in passing, and large portions of his life are
simply glossed over. On the other hand, Augustine gives special importance to seemingly small
events, such as the theft of pears. In telling the story of his life, Augustine selects only those events
