Home to Earth Our Earth is part of the galaxy known as the Milky Way. Astronomers for centuries
have pointed their telescopes toward the Milky Way trying to discover the mysteries the galaxy
holds.
The white light that one can see is known to be the origin of our solar system. Milky Way galaxy is
a gravitational bound system consisting of stars, stellar remnants, an interstellar medium of gas
and dust, and dark matter. It was named after the milk because of its appearance. It happen to look
as a dim glowing arching across the night sky that can only be seen by the telescope. The Milky

The Milky Way was first determined by Galileo Galilei with his telescope in 1610. Thanks to
Galileo because before the use of his telescope, the formation of stars was a confusion to most
astronomers. With the use of a telescope, Galileo studied the Milky Way and discovered that it
was composed of a huge number of faint stars. There was a confusion on stars. Until 1920,
astronomers thought that all stars were contained inside of the Milky Way. After Galileo s
telescope, other astronomers became more creative on understanding that the Milky Way is just

In the novel As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner, relates to what seems to be the main concern and
topic throughout the story, which is the death of Addie Bundren. The long and strange journey to
Jefferson County, Mississippi to bury their mothers body seems to undertake the family together.
Faulkners technique throughout his story presents individual sections of the characters throughout
their thoughts, perspectives or the events taking place throughout the novel. You can see all the
family members and characters have different characteristics of their identity. This idea can be seen
as grotesque and the death of their mother inspires several questions about the character s existence
and identity and they all seem to encounter the death of their mother uniquely.
Each member of the family has a difficult time understanding death and react to it differently.
Throughout the Bundren s experience, we see that Varadman is obsessing over a fish he caught
shortly after his mother s death. Vardaman, who is the youngest does not yet seem to understand
or grieve with the concept of death. As he says, I can feel where the fish was in the dust. It is cut
up into pieces or not fish now, not blood on my hands and overalls. Then it wasn t so. It hadn t

There are many factors involved in the determination of perimortem trauma time in both forensic
pathology and forensic anthropology. This is critical information when it comes to legal issues or
the interpretation of prehistoric bone fractures. There is an extensive difference in fracture
properties that depend both on the time that has passed since death, and the type of environment
where the specimen has been exposed after death. A study was performed by Luis Coelho and Hugo
F.V. Cardoso, the purpose of this study was to determine the effects of different environments and
the time of exposure in the environment on bone fracturepatterns. They are taking a Forensic
anthropological approach in which bonetissue quality (whether the bone is dry(postmortem) or
fresh (perimortem)), is used, instead of using time intervals relative to the tume of death. The
Fractured Freshness Index, which combines fractureangle, fracture surface, and fracture outline as
criteria to determine the time of bone fracture, was used along with postmortem interval. Fresh
limbs from pig and goat were exposed to three different environments. Seven sets of ten
segments of the limbs were either buried, submerged, or left on ground surface. Five segments
were pig and five were goat. Each sets were buried within twenty eight days of the previous. The

The modern day nomad is any person who has to ask themselves where their travel begins and
where they end and what exactly counts as the whole soul searching shebang. The thing about those
collectors of cool things is that their routine is the lack of one. If that s so, what happens when they
come into a highly structured environment that is very direct and singular? I m talking about what
happens when they go camping, specifically in the bush of Botswana, largely because that s where a
gang of merry international students and I recently found ourselves.
The first event, before the whole camping ordeal, is the packing. The reconsideration of
possessions started the process before I even left the hotel room. While I could probably find
sneaky ways to get all of my possessions into the campground, the people I look up to then not to
bring everything and the kitchen sink with them. Sinks do become less useful without running
water, as do a lot of things we drag around with us. Do I really need five books, three devices, 20
pairs of socks, and a sore back to enjoy myself? Me and many others come to the answer of no,
and some take it a step further and decide that for this trip, they will become a minimalist like no
other. This has never turned out so picture perfect for m, but it does represent the start of
sacrificing comfort in the hope of gaining something from the lack of it.
