Essay On Self Introduction
Writing an essay on the topic of "Self Introduction" can be a deceptively challenging task. The
difficulty arises not from the lack of personal information but from the delicate balance required
to present oneself effectively. Striking the right tone between humility and confidence, revealing
enough to make the introduction engaging but not oversharing, and maintaining a coherent
structure are just a few of the intricacies involved.
The challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements while providing a unique and
authentic representation of oneself. It requires introspection to identify key experiences, values,
and aspirations that shape one's identity. Additionally, crafting a narrative that captivates the
reader without sounding boastful demands a careful selection of words and a keen awareness of
the audience.
The essay should not merely be a chronological account of life events but an insightful
exploration of personal growth, achievements, and the influences that have shaped one's
character. Balancing self-expression with relatability is essential to ensure that the essay resonates
with readers on a human level.
Moreover, tackling potential cultural or societal expectations in a self-introduction adds another
layer of complexity. Navigating between being true to oneself and adhering to societal norms can
be challenging, requiring a nuanced approach to avoid misunderstandings or misinterpretations.
In conclusion, writing an essay on self-introduction demands a delicate blend of self-awareness,
storytelling skills, and an understanding of the intended audience. It is a task that goes beyond a
mere listing of facts, delving into the realm of personal reflections and effective communication.
However, with careful consideration and thoughtful crafting, one can create an engaging and
authentic self-introduction that leaves a lasting impression.

External Modes Of Conflict In Hamlet
Whether that be Capulets against the Montagues or a more subtle, and less physical,
conflict between Romeo and his own mind on the famous balcony scene,
Shakespeare is no stranger to conflict. Bowing to his tradition, the Tragedy of
Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is saturated with conflict. The complicated politics of
court and the inevitable clashes between rich, powerful family members combine to
tell a tale that very few authors or playwrights could accomplish.
The most important conflict in any book, movie, or play is internal conflict. Since
internal conflict adds kindling to fuel that justify the external modes of conflict, it is
a necessary addition to any piece of literature. In order to understand the physical
conflicts and actions of
The Discovery Of The Earth s Magnetic Field
The Earth s magnetic field
The discovery of the Earth s magnetic field Over 2000 years ago, the Chinese
discovered that lodestone, a naturally magnetised iron ore, would align itself in a
north south direction. Hundreds of years later, they discovered that their compasses
didn t point true north and in fact that this position changed with time. The compass
was first used for navigation in the 11th 12th century, only arriving in Europe towards
the end of this period. Then, in 1600, William Gilbert (Figure 1.1) published De
Magnete, Magnetisque Corporibus, et de Magno Magnete Tellue (On the Magnet and
Magnetic Bodies, and on the Great Magnet the Earth). He concluded that the Earth
itself was magnetic with a centre of iron, and this is why a compass would point
north. Figure 1.1 William Gilbert (1544 1603) , author of De Magnete, the first
printed book written by an academically trained scholar based almost entirely on
actual observation and experiment .
The structure of the Earth s Magnetic Field
The Earth s magnetic field can in fact be closely approximated by a magnetic dipole
at its centre, tilted by 11Лљ to the Earth s rotational axis, Figure 1.2. The south pole
of this magnetic dipole actually points northwards such that the north pole on a
compass will point towards northwards, and more precisely, to the Earth s magnetic
north pole. The magnetic field strength decreases from the poles towards the equator.
Currently the field is 56 ВµT at the magnetic north
Diction In Midterm Break
Death is a recurrent premise in Seamus Heaney s poems. In 1966, his book of
poems entitled Death of a Naturalist was published. Midterm Break , which is a
part of this collection, articulates Heaney s memories of his four year old brother s
death. In the poem Midterm Break, Seamus Heaney successfully uses imagery,
diction, and structure to portray his first experience with personal loss. An
important component of conveying Heaney s feelings and reflections of the
moment is his use of imagery. It effectively appeals to the emotions and
imagination of the reader. One example of this is when Heaney refers to the bells
knelling classes to a close (line 2). The reader is led to think of funeral bells and
ominous feelings of sadness are formed
Jekyll And Hyde Differences
There are many differences between the characters in the book Jekyll and Hyde
and the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentleman which portrays Jekyll and
Hyde as the movies main characters. When I watched the movie, I noticed three
main differences those are: in the movie they are trying to use Hyde while in the
book they are trying to find and arrest him for murder, Jekyll doesn t hide Hyde in
the movie, and Jekyll doesn t try to control Hyde as much as he does in the book
then in the movie. The first differencethat I will focus on is that in the movie they
are trying to use Hyde for good and in the book, they are trying to arrest Hyde for
murder. In the book Hyde murders a man by the name of Sir Danvers Carew. A maid

In This Part Of The Essay, Tunisia And Libya Are Discussed
In this part of the essay, Tunisia and Libya are discussed in terms of freedom,
whether it is political or social and how former ruling systems facilitated the
process of recovery after Arab Spring. Both Tunisia and Libya started their
promising journey in the post coup era towards a more democratic political
environment. However, it has proven a challenge particularly for Libya as they
never experienced a democratic rule despite having elections in accordance with
democratic values during the reign of King Idris. Tunisia under the rule of Ben Ali
had very limited political freedom particularly for the members of the media. In an
observation released by the Freedom House website, a US based non governmental
organization that advocates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By suppressing their freedom of expression, the trust in Ben Ali s government slowly
eroded which caused further betrayal among the public. Ben Ali certainly had failed
in accommodating the outrage of his people and this continued with his family s
corruption scandal. Freedom of expression represented government transparency
where the resistance against the former could reflect the failure of the government s
functionality.
The transition from dictatorship to democracy will not be a smooth one, particularly
for a country who had been ruled by the same president for more than twenty years
with strictly controlled freedom. Thus, it will be a challenge for the people to relive
the democratic establishments of Tunisia under their former president, Habib
Bourguiba. It is important to note that Tunisia was democratic when it gained its
independence in 1956 but descended into dictatorial rule after the coup. The
experience of democracy had familiarized Tunisians with rebuilding the country on
the liberal foundations. The freedom of expression particularly among the members
of the media gradually improved after 2011. On 26th August 2016, Tunisia signed the
Declaration of Media Freedom in the Arab World, being the second country to sign
the declaration after Palestine. This is a major breakthrough for the silenced
journalists and activists throughout Ben Ali s dictatorship. The early democratic
establishments paved the way for Tunisia to recover from
The Conspiracy Theories And Social Issues
The phrase conspiracy theory is often expressed with a negative connotation and
used as a label for the explanation of outlandish incidents that are hard for the
everyday person to comprehend. Conspiracy theorists are often labeled as lunatics
that spit out senseless claims with no real substance. The mere mention of the word
conspiracy seems to set off an internal alarm bell that causes scholars to close their
minds in order to avoid cognitive dissonance and possible unpleasantness, since the
popular image of conspiracy both fundamentally challenges the conception most
educated, sophisticated people have about how the world operates... (Bale). What is
often unspoken is that conspiracy theories have a real effect on the political... Show

A 2012 National Election Study found that the conspiracy theory has to ideologically
be in line with what the person already believes. Conservatives aren t going to
jump on a conspiracy theory that makes other conservatives look bad, and liberals
aren t going to believe a theory that undermines liberal causes (Jackson). A similar
survey carried out by the New York Times complements the previous study s results
and states that In total, the percentage of Democrats who agreed on average with
the conspiracy claims in the scale increased from 27 percent before the election to
32 percent afterward. By contrast, Republicans willingness to endorse conspiratorial

Blue Crab Research Paper
The blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, is one of the most familiar inhabitants of
marshes and waterways along the Atlantic and GMx coasts of North America. The
abundance of blue crab larvae and juveniles make them important components of
the diets of numerous species of fish, invertebrate and avian predators (Van Engel
1987, Guillory and Elliot 2001). As juveniles and adults, blue crabs act as generalist
predators on benthic infauna and epifauna; consuming invertebrates, fish, and
crustaceans (including other blue crabs) as well as plant and detrital materials
(Darnell 1958, Alexander 1986, Meise and Stehlik 2003, Lipcius et al. 2007). It has
been proposed that blue crabs are keystone species in the marsh because of their
impact as predators
Rhetorical Analysis Of The Film Thank You For Smoking
Thank you for Smoking
Introduction
The film Thank you for Smoking is a dark comedy where the primary protagonist,
Nick Naylor is a lobbyist. He talks for the cigarette industry and will not extra the
American Authorities or even the press. At the in advance, the film prominently
tackles all these topics but deep down it also portrays the partnership between a dad
and a son.
Rhetorical and arguments analysis
In a single conversation between a father and a son, Naylor coaches his son Joey
by telling him the beauty of argument: if you argue correctly, you re never wrong .
This depicts a framework of Nick s personality and probably explains the reason why
as to the reasons he will not lose quarrels. It is because he reframes the ... Show more

I think that we are in need of freedom . This shows the fallacy of red herring. In this
type of rhetorical strategy, the emphasis is shifted from the primary concern for an
unrelated or tangential concern to earn a disagreement.
In another debate Naylor uses the red herring fallacy. That is explicated when he s
asked to testify before the senatorial committee. He says Gentlemen, it s called
education ... It s the job of each mother or father to alert their children of all risks
in the world, including smokes, so that 1 day when they grow older they can decide
for themselves. Here again, Nick waves from the central subject of cigarettes
compared to that of parental responsibility, freedom and education. He s well aware
that People in america love their freedom and therefore takes on with these words to
regulate their feelings.
Naylor also uses the faulty analogy fallacy in the senatorial committee conference. He
compares the Conglomerated Cigarette s cigarette financing with the financing for
the senate s marketing campaign contributions. The advertisement hominem fallacy
is utilized by Naylor when he suggests placing indicators on certain products like
Vermont cheddarcheese, aeroplanes and cars. The red herring fallacy is again used
when Naylor highlights the unwanted effects of Vermont cheddar cheeseon increasing
cholesterol levels. Actually, Senator Lothridge must interrupt to recreate Naylor and

Simon Bolivar has been considered by many historians as the liberator of the
Americas, he lead an army that liberated Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and
Bolivia from the Spanish rule. Bolivar dreamed in having these countries unified as
one big country called The Gran Colombia . These countries would have shared a

With magnanimous sincerity, San Martin offered to place himself and his soldiers
under Bolivar s command if he would send the full Colombian army to drive the
Spanish out of Peru. Unfortunately for the patriot cause, Bolivar apparently
regarded San Martin as a rival and an antagonist rather than as a comrade in arms,
an obstacle to be removed before his own fame and glory were compromised by
sharing them with another. Bolivar refused the incredibly selfless offer, saying that
his delicacy would not allow him to command San Martin, and that the Colombian
Congress would not permit him to leave Colombia to pursue the war in Peru. San
Martin also indicated in an interview that he San Martin, a keen reader of men,
immediately perceived the arrogance and raw ambition that lay behind the mask of
courtly civility and empty excuses. Years later, in 1840, while living in voluntary
exile in France, the general confided his candid assessment of Bolivar s character to
a visitor, Captain Lafond de Lurcy of the French navy:
At first sight his personal appearance prejudiced me against him. He appeared to
have much pride, which was in contrast to his habit of never looking in the face of
the person he was addressing unless the latter was
The At The Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market From

On September 3, 2016, I was given the opportunity to serve at The Statesboro Main
Street Farmers Market from 10:00am until 1:00pm. This event is open to the
public from April to November every Saturday from 9:30am 12:30pm beside the
Bulloch County Courthouse and Sea Island Bank. Here you will find many local
vendors selling their own produce. This event is not limited to produce as you will
also find locals selling jewelry, baked goods, crafts, and my personal favorite, coffee.
Some locally owned stores other than farmers bring their business to the marketsuch
as Three Tree Coffee Roasters, Sugar Magnolia, Cork s Kettle Corn, B G Honey
Farm, etc. With a small town feel, this charming location is perfect for the venue at
hand.
What was your role at the event?
Upon arrival, I went to the information vendor located in the middle of the Farmers
Market where I was greeted by other volunteers and Melanie Sparrow, who told me
my responsibilites for the upcoming hours. My first duty was to hand out various
advertisements for the upcoming GreenFest which will be held October 1st, 2016,
across the street from the Farmers Market. The GreenFest is held by Georgia
Southern s Center for Sustainability. The goal of this event is to teach people about
green living and what it entails. Much like the Farmers Market, there will be live
music, vendors, and workshops. Aside from passing out ads, I also helped keep
attendance of everyone in the market by taking a count every 30 minutes or so.
How Is Raskolnikov A Hero
Morality is a spectrum, in regards that many fall in the middle, rather than on the
two extreme ends: good versus evil; no human being alive is inherently good or
evil. In some cases, however, characters are on the ends of the range of morality. In
Harry Potter, Voldemort was the epitome of evil, while Hermione, for the most
part, was a purely morally good character. Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky,
Raskolnikov is a prime example of a character whose morals are undecidable on
either ends, especially because of his split personality. Because the book is
focused from Raskolnikov s point of view, and because Raskolnikov is an
unreliable narrator, the other characters morals come into question, too. In one of
the first scenes when we first meet Raskolnikov, he has come across a young girl
who is drunk. He sees her and immediately wants to help, so he finds a nearby
police officer and tells him they must keep her out of this scoundrel s hands, in
reference to Svid, who has previously tried to approach the girl with suspicious
intentions (44, 42). Raskolnikov seemed to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

His desire is to use the old ladies money to help people who were imprisoned by
poverty. Despite this, in the moment, he realizes that he was not capable of seeing
and reasoning as a normal person would be (71). He knows that, in societies eyes,
what he did was wrong, but he does not feel guilt over it. Had he felt guilty, he
would have been able to make amends of the situation. As it was, he viewed it as
more of an atonement for forty sins rather than a crime (446). Raskolnikov can
reason, but he is emotionally motivated, and these emotions enhance his split
personality. For this reason, the internal struggle increases as his emotions become
Students Should Write More And Get Feedback From A
Writing...
An important topic in education is that students are not learning how to write well.
Students should write more and get feedback to use in their writing. To help the
students improve their writing, teachers should create a lesson plan here students
write without getting a grade. Otherwise, students may falsely believe that there is a
right or wrong answer in writing. In addition, students need to understand that
teachers are trying to make them a better writer. I argue that school districts need to
incorporate a writing class.
What I think good writing is? Someone who can get their opinions in paper and
deliver their point across is being a good writing. Teachers have a contribution for
students not understanding writing. I have hated writing my whole life until I went
to college. I used to believe I was a bad writer because teachers always told me I was
writing wrong and always got an F in every paper I wrote. Until I took my first
writing class in college. Teachers and peers kept telling how good of a writer I am,
but needed some tweaks and a concise essay. I believe there is a no thing as being a
bad writer. In addition, there can be a good writer because they can acknowledge
their mistakes and correct their problems to the point they deliver the message across
to the audience. For this reason, teachers need to teach students how they can
discover their problems on their instead of always telling the student they are bad.
Teachers help students be doubtful of their

First Battle Of Bull Run Essay
The Civil war began at Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861. However, the Civil War did
not really start to amp up until the First Battle of Bull Run or also know as the first
Battle of Manassas. The battle was fought just miles from Washington D.C., on
July 21, 1861. At a place near Manassas Junction, Virginia. The battle began when
about 35,000 Union soldiers marched from Washington D.C. to fight a confederate
force of 20,000 along a small river called Bull Run. The goal of the Union army
was to make quick work of the Confederate Army, make way to Richmond, the
Confederate capital, and end the war. The Confederate forces were commanded by

However, reinforcements from the Confederate army soon came. They rallied the

they were too disorganized to go after the retreating Union army. The war had

Roper And Simmons Case Study
In this case between Roper and Simmons. Roper was the Columbia state and was
the one charged with carrying out Christopher Simmons death sentence. Simmons
had the intentions of robbing someone but his crime ended up turning into a
murder. He did not have the intentions of wanting to kill anyone it just ended up
with the owner waking up and they ended up torturing her and ended up killing the
woman. The state wanted Christopher Simmons to be put to death because of how
he ended up killing the owner but they could not put him to death because of how
he was only a minor and did not know what he was doing. That he was not in the
right state of mind and he had no control over his actions they said that he was
mentally retarded just because he was a minor and ended up killing a woman. So
when Pat Berrigan the attorney of Kansas took Christopher Simmons case as of the
time there was 72 other juveniles being sentenced to death cause of the crimes they
did and they ended up getting everybody out of death row. Cause of how that state

Immanuel Kant s Categorical Imperative
Immanuel Kant Categorical Imperative Essay
I.Introduction
My name is Diamante Sullivan and today I will be dissecting Immanuel Kant s
Categorical imperative, and explaining what it is to act from a good will. I will also
explain the differences between the categorical imperative, and the hypothetical
imperative. I will do this in order to execute a reasoned and justified critique of
Immanuel Kant s ideas and also illustrate alternative philosophical arguments.
II. Synopsis of the categorical Imperative
Immanuel Kant a philosopher who lived in the 17th 18th century, created a standard
to which we as rational beings should live by known as the categorical imperative.

Immanuel Kant was stringent in his philosophical beliefs that we as autonomous
beings should per sue universal maxims as law, in order to be virtuous and live a
good life. The main difference between the categorical imperative and hypothetical
imperative is the hypothetical imperative ethics, incorporated ideas such as things
are situationally right and wrong actions (Johnson). While hypothetical imperative
views considered principles such as means to ends, it did not consider the duty
aspect in which Kant believed was the most important ideological principle in
maximizing utility. Kant believed the duty in itself should be sacred, in which we
as rational beings overcome our physical presence and perform actions for the ends
in themselves. In a hypothetical imperative situation it would be permissible to tell
a lie to a murderer, to protect a fellow family member. While Kant stated it is never
okay, as we lesson the murderer s humanity. Immanuel Kant will forever be
remembered for his absolutism mind frame, and while I disagree I commend his
work, to achieve the best life possible for

Causes Of Bismarck Unification Germany
Many believe that Prince Otto Edward Leopold von Bismarck, later known as just
Bismarck, was the main reason for German unification. Bismarck was the first
chancellor of this new country as Bismarck had changed 39 smaller states, into one
large industrial power. The unification of Germany had a large impact on the balance
of powers in Europe. Bismarck dominated Germanyand European politics for nearly
30 years. However some historians argue that Bismarck was only this successful
and powerful because of circumstances out of his control. Nationalism and
liberalism were rising as an ideology, the decline of Austria had an effect and 1848
was nicknamed as a year of revolutions due to the amount of revolutions that took
place also factored in, but at the heart of all these is Bismarck s use of deception and
realpolitik and manipulating situations to his advantage.
The traditional belief that Bismarck unified Germany because of the wars with
France Austria and Denmark. Although these are important in the grand scheme of
unifying Germany. For Bismarck to provoke these wars and turn them into his
advantage, foundations had to be laid to support these actions other factors had
been in place to support Bismarck and his belief for a unified Germany.
Nationalism was one of these factors. Revolutions flourished and changed countries
in Europe. One of these was the coup d Г©tat led by Napoleon Bonaparte to save
France from the terror reign of Robespierre., He aimed to unite the whole
Presentism In Thomas Jefferson
The United States, a developing nation, remained under the influence of idealism
and paradox for a period of time, and thus were incapable of being self sufficient
enough to run a country on their own. They relied on England to protect them and
practically run the colonies from overseas. Subsequently, America joined the family
of nations that preaches men are created to be equal. This notion is expressed in
Thomas Jeffersons Declaration of Independence. Though in the past Jefferson was
seen as the greatest founder of the United States, today his more unknown attributes
in the nation have come to be a topic of discussion, making a debatable
conversation about the concept of presentism arise. Today, Thomas Jefferson is
examined and evaluated from many different perspectives of his career during his
lifetime in both adequate and deficient aspects, arousing the question if founding
fathers, like Jefferson, should be remembered for their highest achievements, or for
their individual failures and how the concept of presentism disarrays these
outlooks. Born in 1743, Thomas Jefferson lived and breathed an age of slavery in
America, which greatly impacted his life choices. The question, How could this
man possess such a number of slaves if he himself was working for a nation of
abolishment? arises due to the concept today of presentism. Presentism is defined as
having an opinion of the past which is heavily influenced by the attitudes and
experiences of the present day. Hence,
Application Of Using Multiple Software Tools
3.1 Introduction
The first section of this chapter summarizes the detailed analysis which was carried
out by using multiple software tools in order to conduct microwave heating
simulations of interest. The objective is to document the important technical
information regarding the procedures for later re enactment. After various
comparisons, CST Studio Suite was selected as the preferred software and every
simulation hereafter was done using CST. To authenticate the simulation procedure,
validation of a paper published in the Food and Bioprocess Technology Journal in
2011 was conducted. It is a common practice for researchers to replicate a published
work to duplicate the results, in order to approve or certify the experimental process.

3.2.1 Workflow Procedure
During or after the installation of HFSS, it needs to be made sure that the integration
operation with a similar model of ANSYS has been enabled. Once HFSS is
successfully integrated with ANSYS, the electromagnetic response of the model is
computed by HFSS. The following two types of losses are extracted from HFSS
simulation outputs:
(i)Surface loss density (W/m2), resulting from metallic losses.
(ii)Volume loss density (W/m3), resulting from the dielectric losses.
These electrical results including losses are imported to ANSYS, ANSYS maps the
surface and volume losses from HFSS and conducts mechanical simulations to
acquire thermal responses. The thermal response will be a function of the input
power level of the microwave signal and also the frequency.
The process is then reversed by importing the thermal results from ANSYS back to
HFSS. EM simulations are carried out in HFSS to recalculate the losses and the
process is repeated many times until a converged criterion is satisfied. The decision
chart shown in Figure 3.1 explains the process [1].
Figure 3.3.1: Decision chart containing steps for iteration loop of HFSS ANSYS. [1]
After creating the model design and running EM simulation in HFSS, the electric
field is plotted and the dissipated power is calculated. This design and
Area 51 Conspiracy Theory
Area 51 is a United States Air Force Base located about 80 miles north of Las
Vegas. It is a very secretive base that the U.S didn t claim that it even existed for
many years, but it s pretty obvious. There is various amounts of satellites that have
seen it and people have even got close enough to see it with their bare eyes. The
CIA finally acknowledged it in 2013, but to this day it is still as mystery to what is
inside. This base is where many new planes are built and tested. Some of the planes
and new machines even look out of this word. And that gives people the idea that the
government has extra terrestrial life inside the base. There has been hundreds and
thousands of pictures floating around the internet of aliens and weird looking
creatures saying that these photos are from Area 51, but none of it has ever been
proven. So saying that we know it is a proven Air Force Base in the United States
now, still the biggest conspiracy theoryis that it is still a center for... Show more

I just don t simply believe it because there is a lot of evidence that shows there is no
extraterrestrial life. Even in the past few years since HD cameras on your phone have
become available for everyone UFO sightings have gone down tremendously. It might
be though that people are just looking down at their phones so much though that
people are never looking up anymore.
In my opinion some people just still like to believe it because they are always
thinking the government is in denial. And some people just never believe what our
government says. And others just like to come up with conspiracy theories, but in
my opinion they would still be trying to keep Area 51 a secret if they had that big
of a secret with Aliens. If they are keeping a big secret, maybe not even Aliens but
something else they are still doing a pretty good job of

Unit 8 Essay
In many stories and movies a person might see the world from a point of view but in
the play A Jury Of Her Peers by Susan Glaspellwe see the story from a third person
point of view objective. Which means that the reader can not hear the thoughts or
emotions of the characters involved, the reader is left to their own interpretation of
how each person feels in the story. But is it the best point of view for writing?
In most plays like Trifles the audience has no idea what the characters are feeling
and the must assume this charcer feels a specific way, thus making the audience
piece together whether or not the character feels this way or not. In third person
limited the audience is given only the thoughts of a few characters, being given
more information about what or how everyone feels, while at the same time giving
them a better understanding of the story or plot. In this way of writing the reader
would be more involved with the story or at least more informed in this way of
writing. But in the play it s told in third person objective and the readers view
depends entirely on the actions of the people in the play. ... Show more content on

Commonness In Musculoskeletal Disorders
Purpose of Research and Subjects Musculoskeletal disorders are very common
throughout the population. The research into the commonness in musculoskeletal
disorders in the shoulder isn t correct due to the lack of uniformity and gold standard
measurement. This study focuses on the commonness of musculoskeletal disorders of
the shoulderin women. They assess the differences in the commonness of injuries
using three different measuring tools.
The subjects for this study were working aged women, 20 to 55 years of age.
These women were not exposed to heavy or repetitive work. They could not be a
part of the study if they had been diagnosed with major pathologies or trauma to the
shoulder previously. The subjects were volunteers. The volunteers were found at
supermarkets located in the same area. 302 women were enrolled in this cross

performed by an experienced orthopaedic specialist. The specialist assessed both
shoulders by determining the range of motion and pull force at a 90 degrees of
abduction in the scapular plane. A constant score was calculated for both shoulders. If
the constant score was below normal female values, their shoulder was considered

Reviewing An Acid Test For Hilton
On paper, 2014 for Hilton appears to have been a successful year; they were able to
expand the brand while also adding additional rooms, there was an increase in
occupancy over 2013 and revenues were up. While there were noted
improvements, for several key indicators, over the company s 2013 financial and
operational results, the question still remains as to whether or not there may have
been additional opportunity for financial improvement. In 2014 Hilton saw a $.005
cent decrease in their ability to meet their short term debts. While in the scope of
the overall operation this decrease may not seem significant, when related to Hilton
s low current ratio of 1.107, this result does not provide Hilton much cushion in
meeting its current liabilities. This may give pause to potential creditors who may
question their ability to meet their obligations. This also indicates that Hilton may
benefit from varying their financing activities in order to achieve maximum return,
obtaining new equity, or, working toward reducing their liabilities. In reviewing an
acid test for Hilton, it s important to note that the company s results of .833 for 2014
were worse than they were in 2013. This tells us that, if put in a situations where
Hilton needed to liquidate its quick assets in order to satisfy it s current liabilities,
they would be unable to do so which is mainly due to Hilton s inventory comprising
of 27% of the company s total assets. This information, in conjunction with results
Religion During The Early Modern Period Essay
Religion was so central to political and military conflict in the early modern period
because religion encompassed the era due to the strongly religious cultural society.
The centre of conflict deriving from the Catholic and Protestant divide, which caused
conflict within politics and the military, because the opposing sides fought over
religious territory and popularity. The centre of the conflict within these sectors of
religionwas The Reformation and the wars which followed, which created a struggle
for power as different religions gained new support and thus power, and others
experienced reduced power as a result. The resulting political and military turmoil
created the growth of secularism, which attempted to stabilize politicsand the military
by increasing control. Therefore religion was so central to political and military
conflict in the early modern period because the period was so strongly religious that
it had more of an impact on political and military conflict than any other factor,
because it was held in a higher regard than politics and the military sustained
individually.
Religion in the early modern period was the source of people s identity because
people were strongly religious due to religious values encompassing the way that
society functioned due to the strongly religious culture, a strong contrast with today.
Popular religious practices and beliefs were actually derived from liturgical
paradigms of an incredibly vivacious late medieval Catholic

Alta California was the Last Expansion of Spain’s

The Spanish in contact with California occurred in the mid 1530s when Cortez s
men ventured to Baja California. They began to sail north to Alta California and
established 21 missions. The expedition to Alta California was the last greatest
expansion of Spain s empire in North America. The missions were a series of
religious and military settlements established by the padre. The Spanish constructed
the missions to gain control and power over the land in California. San Francisco
Solano Mission was the last mission established in Sonoma, the Valley of the Moon,

California flag. The Spanish arrival to California created a major impact to the lives
of the native Indians, and there were many significant events occurred among the
Spaniards, the native Indians, and the Americans before California became a part of
America.
San Francisco Solano Mission was founded on July 4th, 1823 by Fr. Jose Altamira,
Father Altamira, which was the last mission in California. The mission got its name
from St. Francis Solano, missionary to the Peruvian Indians (Simondi). After the
arrival of Father Altamira, he decided to create a new mission north of San
Francisco Bay. He selected the sight of the mission with the approval of Governor
Luis Arguello, but he did not ask the church for an official approval. Also, he wanted
to close down the mission at San Rafael and San Francisco because the Governor s

Utah s Coal Mining Industry
he coal mining industry started when people in Utah wanted fuel. Lumber at that
time in Utah was used just for building, not for fuel. In 1854, the LDS church said
that they would pay for the first usable coal mine within forty miles of Salt Lake
City. The first coal mine was in Summit County. Its name was Coalville, and it was
about forty miles from Salt Lake City. The Mormons built a railroad to the
Coalville Coal Mine. They also found a mine that would give them fuel for
transportation named Castle Gate Mine. Soon the Denver and Rio Grande Western
Railroad was built from 1881 1883. It went to the Book Cliffs; that was discovered as
Utahs richest coal deposit. Coal mining had three big challenges The first problem
with mining was labor. Most people that worked in the coal mines were
immigrants that came because they believed that mining would make them rich.
The second problem was money. The workers often complained about how low
their wages were, and how high the store prices were in mining camps. The last
one was a safety concerns. It was very dangerous working in coal mines. You could
die from explosions, or gas leaks. Because of those three problems, the workers
protested and many strikes occurred. The first strike happened in 1883, at Winter
Quarters. They wanted safer working... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next strike that happened was the evening of Sunnyside Mine s opening in 1899.
They also wanted safer working conditions. In 1900, the Scofield Mine explosion
happened; killing 200 men. It happened at Winter Quarters, on May 1st. The miners
were in working the mine when four mineshafts unexpectedly exploded. That led into
the strike in 1901, again, about safety. Next, in 1903 and 1904, the miners attempt to
gain the protection of a national union, but that also failed. Then a local strike
happens in the mine of Kenilworth in 1910. The Kenilworth mine was the first

Mayan Civilizations
Many ancient civilizations had noteworthy accomplishments, specifically in
Mesoamerica three civilizations had many great feats in the time of which they
prospered. These imposing civilizations were the Mayans, who were cultured with
advancements in mathematics and sciences. The Aztec who had a detailed
understanding of the trade. And lastly the Incas who developed vast road and
irrigation channels that connected their empire. The Mayan civilizationhad a highly

as architecture. In the capital city of Tikal (present day Guatemala) they built five

The warlike Aztec people were also renowned conquerors and the capital city of
Tenochtitlan grew rapidly due to tributes from conquered peoples. With the city
growing at such a rapid rate it drew in people looking for jobs and trade therefore

people, making Tenochtitlan the largest city in Mesoamerica. When the Spanish
conquistadors arrived, they were dumbfounded by the well structured markets and
the sheer amount of people who could be found buying and selling goods there.
The markets sold almost everything that could be produced by the peoples of the
time these items include but are not limited to food products, valuable metals such
as gold and silver, and also animal bones, shells and feathers. Tenochtitlan was
considered one of the greatest cities in mesoamerica not only because of it s
methodical trade squares but also because of the unseen ways that the early peoples
developed farming and also the organized grid like structure of which the city was
set up. The people used a method of farming that involved bed of soil that floated on
the water, these beds were called Chinampas and they were the main way that the

Hey Phillip, sorry that I haven t enrolled for next semester yet. I would ve enrolled

within the financial aid office they had records that said that my familywas making
twice the amount of money than previous years, when that is the farthest from the
truth we could get.
As a result from this misinformation, financial aid took away all of my grants and
when I spoke with them about what is going on, they handed me a Special
Consideration Form and told me that I shouldn t have to sign up for a payment
plan since I should ve been guaranteed to get my grants back. Even though I should
have stayed on the side of caution and had my parents sign up for a payment plan, I
listened to Financial Aid and told my parents what they had told me and they
decided to not sign up for a plan. As luck would have it, after I turned in my forms
they then misplaced them and I had to resubmit everything again towards the end of
October despite the fact that I had majority of what they had requested in, they

Vitamin C helps to produce collagen. It is also vital in the production of dopamine
and adrenaline, and necessary to the function of almost all major organs. Low levels
of ascorbic acid can result in loose teeth, anemia, inability to heal quickly, and easier
bruising. In general, though, people with fairly healthy diets get enough of this

substance without supplementation. When a person s diet is low in vitamin C,
supplementation should be considered to promote overall health.
Since most cooking methods deplete the content of vitamin C, one of the best
methods for adding it to one s diet is to eat citrus fruits raw, or to very lightly cook
green vegetables like broccoli. Spinach salad is a tasty way to add more vitamin C
to your diet. Vitamin C has recently been added not just to many foods, but also to
many cosmetic products, particularly skin creams marketed as anti aging. It is too
early to tell if these products are effective, though some users feel they are quite

Fourth grade, the school allowed students to participate in orchestraand gave them the
opportunity to learn how to play certain instruments. As I walked into that small
trailer and heard the sounds, saw the articulation and how everyone moved as one. I
was flabbergasted and knew instantly this is want I wanted to do. Starting Orchestra,
I was horrible and I didn t learn how to properly play my first instrument, the cello,
until the beginning of sixth grade. As much as I was horrible, orchestra was a
positive impact on my life and pushed me to achieve goals. Going down the hall past
Mr. Curry s class, bubble and bumpers, and patiently waiting outside the orchestra
room at M.E Pearson Elementary were the highlights of each day from fourth to fifth
grade. During that time of practice our class would practice articulation, posture,
and how to read notes until the bell rang and would let the school know it was time
to go home. As boring as it got sometimes, I was always filled with joy and
prepared for orchestra the next day. The first time trying out for State was the most
intense experience I ever had. Out of all the experiences I have created with
Conscious Mind
composed of three elements together with the Conscious mind itself. These three
elements of the subconscious are known as the Id, the Ego and the Superego, all
developing at different stages of our life and all working together with the
Conscious mind to create complex human behaviours. The Superego plays the
critical moralizing role. The Ego is the organised, realistic part, mediating between
the desires of the Id and the Superego. The Superego can stop a person from doing
certain things that the Id may want to do. All three elements interact in ways that
have a powerful influence on each individual contributing to each persons own
unique personality. The Id is governed by the pleasure principle. It is the most

According to Freud, the Ego ensures that the impulses of the Id can be expressed in
an acceptable manner it is the reality check, striving to satisfy desires of the Id in
socially realistic and appropriate ways. For example, if stuck in a very long
meeting, a feeling of increasing hunger may tempt you to rush out of the room to
find something to eat! The Ego realistically encourages you to wait, maybe
imagining what you will eat once the meeting is over when you can satisfy the
demands of the Id in an appropriate and realistic manner. Freud compared the Id to a
horse with the Ego as the rider. The horse provides motion and power, the rider
provides guidance and direction. The Superego is the morality principle. It holds all
of our internalized ideals and moral standards that we acquire from parents, authority
figures and society. It is our sense of right and wrong, providing guidelines for
making judgements. Freud states that the Superego begins to emerge at around the
age of three. The Superego acts to suppress any unacceptable urges of the Id and
struggles to make the Ego act upon idealistic standards rather than upon unrealistic
principles. These three aspects of the personality the Id, the Ego and the Superego do
not operate independently. They are unconscious forces operating under the surface
of the thinking and logical Conscious, always interacting within a person thus
influencing their overall behaviour and
Laurence Shames The More Factor Analysis
In the article The More Factor , Laurence Shames compares the concept of the frontier
to American consciousness. Shames argues that the account of the frontier advocates
an excellent depiction of the concept of more , which has been a consistent American
ambition. According to Shames himself, because of this goal of more, Americans
have not adopted other values, hopes or ambitions. The frontierbegan extinct.
Therefore, Americans who established that open space knew that the area could only
grow in wealth. Hopes of the railroad coming through their land and becoming an
upward moving area economically was always the goal. Shames asserts that
Americans always viewed susceptible land as a contingency for more. In other words,

has been revealed. Researchers found that a fragment of one of the proteins of the
virus can change animal behavior.
Altering animal behavior
The fragment of the virus protein blocks vital chemical messengers in the brain. It
was enough to stop the pumping of the digestive tracts of worms and make rodents
run frantically around their cages. When rabies infects dogs, the animal becomes bold
and highly aggressive.
It will attack people and other creatures that will flee. The rabies infected animal loses
the ability to swallow, causing its mouth to overflow with infectious saliva. When an
infected dog bites a person, the virus will die without infecting anyone. But the
human bite victim often behaves in disturbing and extreme ways. Thiravat
Hemenachudha, a rabies researcher and neurologist at the Neuroscience Centre for
Research and Development, said the bite victims often scream and overreact to any
stimuli, both light and sound. The patient must be injected with up to 480 milligrams
of intravenous valium daily. It is 96 times the dose which sends people to doze right
away.
Patients injected with valium will sleep immediately. It is an
Images Of Prison Life And Correctional Officers
Within society there are an array of misinterpret images of prison life and
correctional officers. This portrayal of them has change through time from popular
media. A clear majority of popular media such as writing and film can be attributed
to the one dimensional image. These media outlets are then taken as primary sources
and therefore society s view of prisonlife and correctional officers. These popular
media outlets are guilty when it comes to portraying a lifestyle that seem so real,
but far from the truth. Within these misconceptions gathered there is the formation
of the belief that all prison guards or correctional officers are this ruthless hierarchy
figure in this correctional system, designed to make the life of a prisoner complete
hell for those entering the system. Within the numerous portrayals of the
correctional system there are a few exceptions. For example, Ted Conover s
Newjack: Guarding Sing Sing is an excellent and rare example of the journalists
firsthand experiences as an undercover trained correctional officer. Ted Conover,
spent a year working as a newjack the inmate term for a newly minted New York
correctional officer in New York s Sing Sing prison. Far from the popular belief
portrayed in the media the role of a correctional officer is to be responsible for the
supervision, care, custody, control and to only use physical restraint, when necessary
on the inmates. In addition to that correctional officers endure a lot, in the since that
When All Light Dies
When All Light Dies Born in Dayton Ohio, I was raised in Cleveland from the age
of five until I recently moved to Columbus this past year. Growing up I ve seen a
few things happen I couldn t imagine but I ve seen much more come and go, while
not implausible sometimes it s hard to understand and attempt why some things
that always are can then no longer can be. In my experience life begins and life
will end, both of those circumstances change the lives of those around you forever.
When all light dies and the gleam in your eyes fade from this plane, you cross the
line into the grey area of existence. Leaving the past sunshine in your eyes seared
into the hearts and minds of those who loved you. Kept alive as a raging little
flame through the memories, aspirations, and promises left by you, never to be
witnessed or enjoyed by you. For it is humble when you can no longer boast or
feed the remanence of pride, the only option is to feed the flame and bask in the
warmth of its embers. Fulfillment and satisfaction of this caliber only fits into the
barrel of past life, and that only feels more unreal every day. To share my success
with my lost friend means more to me than most anything else that s continuously
offered in this life. Just as people place faith in god I place faith in the ethereal
influence and all the memories that piece me and my character together, the flame
inside still burns brighter and brighter. I feel you with me, I know in some strange
way you can see what I
Influence Of Patronage On Jackson Pollock
The Influence of Patronage on Jackson Pollock Art History Scott Mathew Jan. 21st,
2018 Introduction Jackson Pollock, a famous artist representing the summit era of
abstractionism, witnessed that America took place of Paris in art world. However,
his artworks were utilized as an American political weapon during the Cold War to
justify the impression on Western polities. This essay focuses on the influence some
personal or governmental patronage on Pollock s art. Some conspiracy theories even
believed that it was the government that deliberately promoted the mainstream of
abstractionism. Pollock s Early Life Pollock experienced his childhood without much
exceptional occurrences. He was ambitious to become an great artist, and fortunately,

The thing worthy noticing was that in the year Pollock started his drip paintings,
even though people liked them, but no one really considered them, let along
buying them. Surprisingly, just in next year, forty his paintings were purchased, of
course, in very high prices, and fifty two were bought in the year after that year.
Therefore, some attribute this phenomena to the governmental propaganda. With
this, America not only attacked arts and polities in the USSR, but also gained the
reputations in art world that there would be the new art movement leading by the
US. As a result, Pollock earned a lot of money and prestige, and pressure too. For
entire four years, Pollock had drip painted again and again. At last, he realized that
he could not create anything new. Because he did not have great sketching skills, he
could not draw something else. The only thing he could do was drip paintings. He
had tried some new inventions, but, like paintings he draw before, no one was
willing to spend any for those. After the four year, he stopped painting and hated it.
The aura shackled him to be a drip paintings ist, and he did not have the ability to
struggle it off. As a man full of emotional strength, absolutely he could not stand such
position. And, to the end, he
How Does Darcy Mature
One of the hardest things to understand as you mature is that you will be wrong a
lot. What is even harder, though, is admitting to yourself that you are incorrect, and
intentionally changing yourself based on new information. The novel Pride and
Prejudice revolves around Elizabeth Bennet and her interactions with Mr. Darcy, a
man she originally takes to be rude and cold, but later realizes is generous and well
mannered. This realization is part of her coming into maturity. Though she appears as
twenty one in the novel, she still only truly comes into womanhood in the moment
she admits she was wrong about Mr. Darcy after reading his explanatory letter. More
than half of the novel shows Elizabeth hating the man she met at a Netherfield ball.
Differences Of Kantianism And Utilitarianism
In this paper, I will discuss how Kantianism and Utilitarianism would have
oppositional views on the decision to break protocol in order to save a child life.
Ethical Dilemma:
A child is brought into the emergency department by his mother. The mother is
yelling that her child is not breathing. The nurse runs over and takes the child, runs
inside the emergency room and yells for a doctor. No doctor has arrived, but another
nurse comes into the room and both nurses begin CPR on the child. The nurses talk
to one another and agree that the child needed to be intubated immediately in order to
survive. However, the doctors were unavailable. The first nurse to respond to the
mother decides to intubate the child even though intubation is outside of her scope of
practice and she could be fired for performing the intubation. The nurse intubated the
child successfully and the child is in a stable condition after the intubation.
Utilitarianism:
Utilitarianism is a consequentialist philosophy: the righteousness and wrongness of
actions dependon the result of the actions, not the intent of the actions. Actions are
right if they maximize happiness and decrease pain. It is important to maximize
happiness as a collective, not just maximize happiness the pleasure individually. For
example, there are opportunities in which sacrificing one s own happiness is
acceptable if it results in a greater value of happiness in a community. A Utilitarian
can calculate the net worth of actions by calculating the pain and pleasure it each will
create. However, during events where there is not enough time for calculation, we
can just rely on the rule of thumb, which are basic (common sense) rules, such as not
murdering, lying, or cheating.
Response to action:
An Act Utilitarian would argue that saving the child life was the correct action
because the life of a child outweighs the pain that could result if the nurse lost her
license. There would be a greater amount of pain if the nurse did not intubate the
patient. A child would have died, the mother would have to grieve losing her child,
and the healthcare workers would be distraught because they were unable to save the
child, even though they had the resources and knowledge to do so.
Cultural Ignorance in Heart of Darkness, By Joseph
Conrad...
An inescapable ignorance dominates the way we define culture . It is all too easy to
define culture when a group of people feel as though they are part of the same
culture. A bias arises when defining this term, because we consider ourselves to be
cultured . We define culture with our own definitions, and we judge it through our
own prejudiced eyes. To accurately define culture, we must take ourselves out of the
cultural boundaries we have been accustomed to. Of course, this is impossible.
Accordingly, defining the essence of culture is something I cannot attempt to do.
In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, the attempt to define the cultural line leads to
the corruption, greed, and evil of the white man. Even when ... Show more content on

They use the natives for work that does not even exist, and a pleasure arises from
treating natives as their slaves. At the central station, Marlow is struck by the
seemingly pointless operation of the bricklayer. The central station cannot perform
its supposed duty due to a lack of material that will never reach the station. The
men become paralyzed in a state of inefficiency that traps them in the heart of
darkness. Their existence becomes stagnant and non moving. The men waste away
their lives placing themselves above the natives for no apparent purpose. In
Apocalypse Now, soldiers even begin to surf in the middle of a war battle! Marlow
claims, What saves us (those that do work) is efficiency the devotion to efficiency
(Conrad 10). They are able to escape the reaches of darkness by keeping their minds
set on just doing their job . It seems though, that efficiency does not save these men.
Ignorance becomes their real saving grace. By ignoring the greed of his fellow man,
the working white man allows his heart to escape this darkness. By refusing to
acknowledge the horrible deeds done by those around him, the working man can
avoid the inescapable path I referred to previously.
So what causes the white man to dive into the heart of darkness? Sure, greed is the
primary driving force, but the way the white man feeds his greed causes the
problem. Men such as the Manager and Kurtz, see the natives as mere workhorses, as
a part of the other world, the
Analysis Of A Song By Maria Williams
Many people think that the poem A Song, by Helen Maria Williams, is just a love
letter when, in fact, it is more of an expression of her relationship with her
inspiration of writing. Helen Maria Williams s best known works are her several
volumes of letters and sketches. They narrate the French Revolution, the Age of
Bonaparte, and the restoration of the French Monarchy. She was a supporter of the
revolution and she wrote these letters to her countrymen in England. Nevertheless,
Williams wrote a number of antiwar poems during the 1780s, like Edwin and
Eltruda and An Ode to the Peace. In 1786, Helen Maria Williams published a two
volume poetrycollection. The collection was titled Poems and A Song is featured
there in that area. A Song has six sections. Each section consists of one stanza that has
four lines and an ABAB rhyme schemeand the metre is similar to that of an iambic
trimeter. Moreover, there is a great use of punctuation. The poem s central theme is
loveand how a particular emotional relationship affects the lyrical voice. The first
stanza foregrounds the importance of love to the lyrical voice. Throughout the
stanzas, the lyrical voice will express his/her particular feelings about something
that occurred particularly to him/her. It shows the writing through experience.
The poem begins by saying that this lover has no riches and, consequently, couldn t
share them with the lyrical voice No riches from his scanty store/ My lover could
impart . Notice the alliteration on scanty store , which gives a soft feel to the first
part of the stanza. Then, the lyrical voice states that this lover gave him/her
something that he/she values more He gave a boon I valued more : his heart He
gave me all his heart! . Notice the great emphasis made on the last line and how the
lyrical voice accentuates it by using a final dash and creating a pause at the end of
the previous line. The second stanza describes the lover. The lyrical voice says
about the lover: His soul sincere, his generous worth . And, more importantly, the
lyrical voice says he/she is touched by this generosity and sincerity that the lover has
Might well this bosom move . It describes the way the lyrical voice sees the

Two dimensional, electrically conducting Casson fluid flow over an upper horizontal
surface of paraboloid of revolution in a thermally stratified medium is analyzed. The
influence of melting heat transfer is accounted by modifying classical boundary
condition of temperature. Based on the boundary layer assumptions, suitable
similarity transformation is applied to reduce the governing equations to coupled
ordinary differential equations corresponding to momentum, energy and
concentration equations. These equations along with the boundary conditions are
solved numerically by using Runge Kutta technique along with shooting method.

Home Network
Introduction:
A network is an interconnection in between two or more systems or computers in
an order to communicate each other by sharing the data . Today, networking
concept got importance by its features, especially of sharing the information and is
widely practicing in an Organization level too. Mainly networking concept is
categorized into 3 main categories based upon the performance namely LAN,
MAN and WAN. For our home purpose generally we use LAN technology. Local
Area Network can up to a building and it can be either in Wired or in Wireless. For
Wired Technology we use EthernetCables along with the Router, Switch, Hub and

Each device has its own ip address and these are directly connected to the wireless
router .The wireless router is from a Comcast Xfinity with protocol of 802.11n
with an encryption type of WPA2 which allows me safe browsing. In my home
network firewall is between the router and the network provider, which meant for
allowing authorized usage of internet by impeding the hackers. My home network
is a small network with 8 systems only. So, there is no need to maintain separate
server to maintain the operations otherwise I need to place my server in a de
militarized zone indicated in the above diagram. I used to perform the speed test
and ping test at least once in a week due to which I didn t find any connection
problems till now. My hardware is 6 months old of course I m using IPV4 rather
than IPV6 but this time I m looking to update it to IPV6 which is an updated
version of encrypted IP addresses. I didn t have any smart TV which already been
connected to my network and I used to connect all my peripherals with their
corresponding mother boards rather than using any external USBs or Ethernet
cables because my network is wireless. Wireless networks provides mobility and
flexibility. Mainly for these two reasons I m using wireless network only. I figured
out the IP address of each system and documented the same in the above figure
resembling my home network with 8 systems connected to it.

Essay On Self Introduction. 016 Sample Essay About Myself Introduction Templates Self Letter For ...

  • 1. Essay On Self Introduction Writing an essay on the topic of "Self Introduction" can be a deceptively challenging task. The difficulty arises not from the lack of personal information but from the delicate balance required to present oneself effectively. Striking the right tone between humility and confidence, revealing enough to make the introduction engaging but not oversharing, and maintaining a coherent structure are just a few of the intricacies involved. The challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements while providing a unique and authentic representation of oneself. It requires introspection to identify key experiences, values, and aspirations that shape one's identity. Additionally, crafting a narrative that captivates the reader without sounding boastful demands a careful selection of words and a keen awareness of the audience. The essay should not merely be a chronological account of life events but an insightful exploration of personal growth, achievements, and the influences that have shaped one's character. Balancing self-expression with relatability is essential to ensure that the essay resonates with readers on a human level. Moreover, tackling potential cultural or societal expectations in a self-introduction adds another layer of complexity. Navigating between being true to oneself and adhering to societal norms can be challenging, requiring a nuanced approach to avoid misunderstandings or misinterpretations. In conclusion, writing an essay on self-introduction demands a delicate blend of self-awareness, storytelling skills, and an understanding of the intended audience. It is a task that goes beyond a mere listing of facts, delving into the realm of personal reflections and effective communication. However, with careful consideration and thoughtful crafting, one can create an engaging and authentic self-introduction that leaves a lasting impression. • 2. External Modes Of Conflict In Hamlet Whether that be Capulets against the Montagues or a more subtle, and less physical, conflict between Romeo and his own mind on the famous balcony scene, Shakespeare is no stranger to conflict. Bowing to his tradition, the Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is saturated with conflict. The complicated politics of court and the inevitable clashes between rich, powerful family members combine to tell a tale that very few authors or playwrights could accomplish. The most important conflict in any book, movie, or play is internal conflict. Since internal conflict adds kindling to fuel that justify the external modes of conflict, it is a necessary addition to any piece of literature. In order to understand the physical conflicts and actions of
  • 3. The Discovery Of The Earth s Magnetic Field The Earth s magnetic field The discovery of the Earth s magnetic field Over 2000 years ago, the Chinese discovered that lodestone, a naturally magnetised iron ore, would align itself in a north south direction. Hundreds of years later, they discovered that their compasses didn t point true north and in fact that this position changed with time. The compass was first used for navigation in the 11th 12th century, only arriving in Europe towards the end of this period. Then, in 1600, William Gilbert (Figure 1.1) published De Magnete, Magnetisque Corporibus, et de Magno Magnete Tellue (On the Magnet and Magnetic Bodies, and on the Great Magnet the Earth). He concluded that the Earth itself was magnetic with a centre of iron, and this is why a compass would point north. Figure 1.1 William Gilbert (1544 1603) , author of De Magnete, the first printed book written by an academically trained scholar based almost entirely on actual observation and experiment . The structure of the Earth s Magnetic Field The Earth s magnetic field can in fact be closely approximated by a magnetic dipole at its centre, tilted by 11Лљ to the Earth s rotational axis, Figure 1.2. The south pole of this magnetic dipole actually points northwards such that the north pole on a compass will point towards northwards, and more precisely, to the Earth s magnetic north pole. The magnetic field strength decreases from the poles towards the equator. Currently the field is 56 ВµT at the magnetic north
  • 4. Diction In Midterm Break Death is a recurrent premise in Seamus Heaney s poems. In 1966, his book of poems entitled Death of a Naturalist was published. Midterm Break , which is a part of this collection, articulates Heaney s memories of his four year old brother s death. In the poem Midterm Break, Seamus Heaney successfully uses imagery, diction, and structure to portray his first experience with personal loss. An important component of conveying Heaney s feelings and reflections of the moment is his use of imagery. It effectively appeals to the emotions and imagination of the reader. One example of this is when Heaney refers to the bells knelling classes to a close (line 2). The reader is led to think of funeral bells and ominous feelings of sadness are formed
  • 5. Jekyll And Hyde Differences There are many differences between the characters in the book Jekyll and Hyde and the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentleman which portrays Jekyll and Hyde as the movies main characters. When I watched the movie, I noticed three main differences those are: in the movie they are trying to use Hyde while in the book they are trying to find and arrest him for murder, Jekyll doesn t hide Hyde in the movie, and Jekyll doesn t try to control Hyde as much as he does in the book then in the movie. The first differencethat I will focus on is that in the movie they are trying to use Hyde for good and in the book, they are trying to arrest Hyde for murder. In the book Hyde murders a man by the name of Sir Danvers Carew. A maid witnesses this
  • 6. In This Part Of The Essay, Tunisia And Libya Are Discussed In this part of the essay, Tunisia and Libya are discussed in terms of freedom, whether it is political or social and how former ruling systems facilitated the process of recovery after Arab Spring. Both Tunisia and Libya started their promising journey in the post coup era towards a more democratic political environment. However, it has proven a challenge particularly for Libya as they never experienced a democratic rule despite having elections in accordance with democratic values during the reign of King Idris. Tunisia under the rule of Ben Ali had very limited political freedom particularly for the members of the media. In an observation released by the Freedom House website, a US based non governmental organization that advocates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By suppressing their freedom of expression, the trust in Ben Ali s government slowly eroded which caused further betrayal among the public. Ben Ali certainly had failed in accommodating the outrage of his people and this continued with his family s corruption scandal. Freedom of expression represented government transparency where the resistance against the former could reflect the failure of the government s functionality. The transition from dictatorship to democracy will not be a smooth one, particularly for a country who had been ruled by the same president for more than twenty years with strictly controlled freedom. Thus, it will be a challenge for the people to relive the democratic establishments of Tunisia under their former president, Habib Bourguiba. It is important to note that Tunisia was democratic when it gained its independence in 1956 but descended into dictatorial rule after the coup. The experience of democracy had familiarized Tunisians with rebuilding the country on the liberal foundations. The freedom of expression particularly among the members of the media gradually improved after 2011. On 26th August 2016, Tunisia signed the Declaration of Media Freedom in the Arab World, being the second country to sign the declaration after Palestine. This is a major breakthrough for the silenced journalists and activists throughout Ben Ali s dictatorship. The early democratic establishments paved the way for Tunisia to recover from
  • 7. The Conspiracy Theories And Social Issues The phrase conspiracy theory is often expressed with a negative connotation and used as a label for the explanation of outlandish incidents that are hard for the everyday person to comprehend. Conspiracy theorists are often labeled as lunatics that spit out senseless claims with no real substance. The mere mention of the word conspiracy seems to set off an internal alarm bell that causes scholars to close their minds in order to avoid cognitive dissonance and possible unpleasantness, since the popular image of conspiracy both fundamentally challenges the conception most educated, sophisticated people have about how the world operates... A 2012 National Election Study found that the conspiracy theory has to ideologically be in line with what the person already believes. Conservatives aren t going to jump on a conspiracy theory that makes other conservatives look bad, and liberals aren t going to believe a theory that undermines liberal causes (Jackson). A similar survey carried out by the New York Times complements the previous study s results and states that In total, the percentage of Democrats who agreed on average with the conspiracy claims in the scale increased from 27 percent before the election to 32 percent afterward. By contrast, Republicans willingness to endorse conspiratorial claims declined after the election over all and for three of the four statements, pushing down the percentage of Republicans who agreed on average with the statements from 28 percent to 19 percent. (Nyhan). This coincides with another conducted in countries with a primarily islamic population asking the participants if Arabs were the perpetrators in the attacks against America on 9/11. 78 percent of respondents said that they do not believe the 9/11 attacks were carried out by Arabs, the most popular account, in these countries, is that 9/11 was the work
  • 8. Blue Crab Research Paper The blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, is one of the most familiar inhabitants of marshes and waterways along the Atlantic and GMx coasts of North America. The abundance of blue crab larvae and juveniles make them important components of the diets of numerous species of fish, invertebrate and avian predators (Van Engel 1987, Guillory and Elliot 2001). As juveniles and adults, blue crabs act as generalist predators on benthic infauna and epifauna; consuming invertebrates, fish, and crustaceans (including other blue crabs) as well as plant and detrital materials (Darnell 1958, Alexander 1986, Meise and Stehlik 2003, Lipcius et al. 2007). It has been proposed that blue crabs are keystone species in the marsh because of their impact as predators

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Film Thank You For Smoking Thank you for Smoking Introduction The film Thank you for Smoking is a dark comedy where the primary protagonist, Nick Naylor is a lobbyist. He talks for the cigarette industry and will not extra the American Authorities or even the press. At the in advance, the film prominently tackles all these topics but deep down it also portrays the partnership between a dad and a son. Rhetorical and arguments analysis In a single conversation between a father and a son, Naylor coaches his son Joey by telling him the beauty of argument: if you argue correctly, you re never wrong . In this type of rhetorical strategy, the emphasis is shifted from the primary concern for an unrelated or tangential concern to earn a disagreement. In another debate Naylor uses the red herring fallacy. That is explicated when he s asked to testify before the senatorial committee. He says Gentlemen, it s called education ... It s the job of each mother or father to alert their children of all risks in the world, including smokes, so that 1 day when they grow older they can decide for themselves. Here again, Nick waves from the central subject of cigarettes compared to that of parental responsibility, freedom and education. He s well aware that People in america love their freedom and therefore takes on with these words to regulate their feelings. Naylor also uses the faulty analogy fallacy in the senatorial committee conference. He compares the Conglomerated Cigarette s cigarette financing with the financing for the senate s marketing campaign contributions. The advertisement hominem fallacy is utilized by Naylor when he suggests placing indicators on certain products like Vermont cheddarcheese, aeroplanes and cars. The red herring fallacy is again used when Naylor highlights the unwanted effects of Vermont cheddar cheeseon increasing cholesterol levels. Actually, Senator Lothridge must interrupt to recreate Naylor and Senator Finisterre back

Herbert Maduro Columbia Southern University Simon Bolivar has been considered by many historians as the liberator of the Americas, he lead an army that liberated Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia from the Spanish rule. Bolivar dreamed in having these countries unified as one big country called The Gran Colombia . With magnanimous sincerity, San Martin offered to place himself and his soldiers under Bolivar s command if he would send the full Colombian army to drive the Spanish out of Peru. Unfortunately for the patriot cause, Bolivar apparently regarded San Martin as a rival and an antagonist rather than as a comrade in arms, an obstacle to be removed before his own fame and glory were compromised by sharing them with another. Bolivar refused the incredibly selfless offer, saying that his delicacy would not allow him to command San Martin, and that the Colombian Congress would not permit him to leave Colombia to pursue the war in Peru. San Martin also indicated in an interview that he San Martin, a keen reader of men, immediately perceived the arrogance and raw ambition that lay behind the mask of courtly civility and empty excuses. Years later, in 1840, while living in voluntary exile in France, the general confided his candid assessment of Bolivar s character to a visitor, Captain Lafond de Lurcy of the French navy: At first sight his personal appearance prejudiced me against him. He appeared to have much pride, which was in contrast to his habit of never looking in the face of the person he was addressing unless the latter was

This event is open to the public from April to November every Saturday from 9:30am 12:30pm beside the Bulloch County Courthouse and Sea Island Bank. Here you will find many local vendors selling their own produce. This event is not limited to produce as you will also find locals selling jewelry, baked goods, crafts, and my personal favorite, coffee. Some locally owned stores other than farmers bring their business to the marketsuch as Three Tree Coffee Roasters, Sugar Magnolia, Cork s Kettle Corn, B G Honey Farm, etc. With a small town feel, this charming location is perfect for the venue at hand. What was your role at the event? Upon arrival, I went to the information vendor located in the middle of the Farmers Market where I was greeted by other volunteers and Melanie Sparrow, who told me my responsibilites for the upcoming hours. My first duty was to hand out various advertisements for the upcoming GreenFest which will be held October 1st, 2016, across the street from the Farmers Market. The GreenFest is held by Georgia Southern s Center for Sustainability. The goal of this event is to teach people about green living and what it entails. Much like the Farmers Market, there will be live music, vendors, and workshops. Aside from passing out ads, I also helped keep attendance of everyone in the market by taking a count every 30 minutes or so.
  • 12. How Is Raskolnikov A Hero Morality is a spectrum, in regards that many fall in the middle, rather than on the two extreme ends: good versus evil; no human being alive is inherently good or evil. In some cases, however, characters are on the ends of the range of morality. In Harry Potter, Voldemort was the epitome of evil, while Hermione, for the most part, was a purely morally good character. Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, Raskolnikov is a prime example of a character whose morals are undecidable on either ends, especially because of his split personality. Because the book is focused from Raskolnikov s point of view, and because Raskolnikov is an unreliable narrator, the other characters morals come into question, too. In one of the first scenes when we first meet Raskolnikov, he has come across a young girl who is drunk. He sees her and immediately wants to help, so he finds a nearby police officer and tells him they must keep her out of this scoundrel s hands, in reference to Svid, who has previously tried to approach the girl with suspicious intentions (44, 42). As it was, he viewed it as more of an atonement for forty sins rather than a crime (446). Raskolnikov can reason, but he is emotionally motivated, and these emotions enhance his split personality. For this reason, the internal struggle increases as his emotions become
  • 13. Students Should Write More And Get Feedback From A Writing... An important topic in education is that students are not learning how to write well. Students should write more and get feedback to use in their writing. To help the students improve their writing, teachers should create a lesson plan here students write without getting a grade. Otherwise, students may falsely believe that there is a right or wrong answer in writing. In addition, students need to understand that teachers are trying to make them a better writer. I argue that school districts need to incorporate a writing class. What I think good writing is? Someone who can get their opinions in paper and deliver their point across is being a good writing. Teachers have a contribution for students not understanding writing. I have hated writing my whole life until I went to college. I used to believe I was a bad writer because teachers always told me I was writing wrong and always got an F in every paper I wrote. Until I took my first writing class in college. Teachers and peers kept telling how good of a writer I am, but needed some tweaks and a concise essay. I believe there is a no thing as being a bad writer. In addition, there can be a good writer because they can acknowledge their mistakes and correct their problems to the point they deliver the message across to the audience. For this reason, teachers need to teach students how they can discover their problems on their instead of always telling the student they are bad. Teachers help students be doubtful of their

The Hispanic view of macho embodies a man described by Guilbault as manly, responsible, hardworking, a patriarch and a person who expresses strength through silence. However, the Civil War did not really start to amp up until the First Battle of Bull Run or also know as the first Battle of Manassas. The battle was fought just miles from Washington D.C., on July 21, 1861. At a place near Manassas Junction, Virginia. The battle began when about 35,000 Union soldiers marched from Washington D.C. to fight a confederate force of 20,000 along a small river called Bull Run. Reporters, congressman, and onlookers came to watch the battle like it was some sort of show or play. They thought the Union were about to win the battle and began celebrating. However, reinforcements from the Confederate army soon came. They rallied the Confederate troops. The federals struggled with communication and lack of coordination between units. By later in the afternoon, both sides had an equal number of men on the battlefield. General Beauregard ordered a counterattack and the Confederates were able to penetrate the Union line. McDowell and the Union soldiers began to retreat chaotically. The Confederates had won the war. However, they were too disorganized to go after the retreating Union army. The war had roughly took the lives of 3,000 Union soldiers and 1,750 Confederate
  • 17. Roper And Simmons Case Study In this case between Roper and Simmons. Roper was the Columbia state and was the one charged with carrying out Christopher Simmons death sentence. Simmons had the intentions of robbing someone but his crime ended up turning into a murder. He did not have the intentions of wanting to kill anyone it just ended up with the owner waking up and they ended up torturing her and ended up killing the woman. The state wanted Christopher Simmons to be put to death because of how he ended up killing the owner but they could not put him to death because of how he was only a minor and did not know what he was doing. That he was not in the right state of mind and he had no control over his actions they said that he was mentally retarded just because he was a minor and ended up killing a woman. So when Pat Berrigan the attorney of Kansas took Christopher Simmons case as of the time there was 72 other juveniles being sentenced to death cause of the crimes they did and they ended up getting everybody out of death row. Immanuel Kant s Categorical Imperative Immanuel Kant Categorical Imperative Essay I.Introduction My name is Diamante Sullivan and today I will be dissecting Immanuel Kant s Categorical imperative, and explaining what it is to act from a good will. I will also explain the differences between the categorical imperative, and the hypothetical imperative. I will do this in order to execute a reasoned and justified critique of Immanuel Kant s ideas and also illustrate alternative philosophical arguments. II. Immanuel Kant was stringent in his philosophical beliefs that we as autonomous beings should per sue universal maxims as law, in order to be virtuous and live a good life. The main difference between the categorical imperative and hypothetical imperative is the hypothetical imperative ethics, incorporated ideas such as things are situationally right and wrong actions (Johnson). While hypothetical imperative views considered principles such as means to ends, it did not consider the duty aspect in which Kant believed was the most important ideological principle in maximizing utility. Kant believed the duty in itself should be sacred, in which we as rational beings overcome our physical presence and perform actions for the ends in themselves. In a hypothetical imperative situation it would be permissible to tell a lie to a murderer, to protect a fellow family member. While Kant stated it is never okay, as we lesson the murderer s humanity. Immanuel Kant will forever be remembered for his absolutism mind frame, and while I disagree I commend his work, to achieve the best life possible for

  • 22. Causes Of Bismarck Unification Germany Many believe that Prince Otto Edward Leopold von Bismarck, later known as just Bismarck, was the main reason for German unification. Bismarck was the first chancellor of this new country as Bismarck had changed 39 smaller states, into one large industrial power. The unification of Germany had a large impact on the balance of powers in Europe. Bismarck dominated Germanyand European politics for nearly 30 years. However some historians argue that Bismarck was only this successful and powerful because of circumstances out of his control. Nationalism and liberalism were rising as an ideology, the decline of Austria had an effect and 1848 was nicknamed as a year of revolutions due to the amount of revolutions that took place also factored in, but at the heart of all these is Bismarck s use of deception and realpolitik and manipulating situations to his advantage. The traditional belief that Bismarck unified Germany because of the wars with France Austria and Denmark. Although these are important in the grand scheme of unifying Germany. For Bismarck to provoke these wars and turn them into his advantage, foundations had to be laid to support these actions other factors had been in place to support Bismarck and his belief for a unified Germany. Nationalism was one of these factors. Revolutions flourished and changed countries in Europe. One of these was the coup d Г©tat led by Napoleon Bonaparte to save France from the terror reign of Robespierre., He aimed to unite the whole
  • 23. Presentism In Thomas Jefferson The United States, a developing nation, remained under the influence of idealism and paradox for a period of time, and thus were incapable of being self sufficient enough to run a country on their own. They relied on England to protect them and practically run the colonies from overseas. Subsequently, America joined the family of nations that preaches men are created to be equal. This notion is expressed in Thomas Jeffersons Declaration of Independence. Though in the past Jefferson was seen as the greatest founder of the United States, today his more unknown attributes in the nation have come to be a topic of discussion, making a debatable conversation about the concept of presentism arise. Today, Thomas Jefferson is examined and evaluated from many different perspectives of his career during his lifetime in both adequate and deficient aspects, arousing the question if founding fathers, like Jefferson, should be remembered for their highest achievements, or for their individual failures and how the concept of presentism disarrays these outlooks. Born in 1743, Thomas Jefferson lived and breathed an age of slavery in America, which greatly impacted his life choices. The question, How could this man possess such a number of slaves if he himself was working for a nation of abolishment? arises due to the concept today of presentism. Presentism is defined as having an opinion of the past which is heavily influenced by the attitudes and experiences of the present day. Hence,

Both software tools are based on Finite Element Method (FEM) [1]. 3.2.1 Workflow Procedure During or after the installation of HFSS, it needs to be made sure that the integration operation with a similar model of ANSYS has been enabled. Once HFSS is successfully integrated with ANSYS, the electromagnetic response of the model is computed by HFSS. The following two types of losses are extracted from HFSS simulation outputs: (i)Surface loss density (W/m2), resulting from metallic losses. (ii)Volume loss density (W/m3), resulting from the dielectric losses. These electrical results including losses are imported to ANSYS, ANSYS maps the surface and volume losses from HFSS and conducts mechanical simulations to acquire thermal responses. The thermal response will be a function of the input power level of the microwave signal and also the frequency. The process is then reversed by importing the thermal results from ANSYS back to HFSS. EM simulations are carried out in HFSS to recalculate the losses and the process is repeated many times until a converged criterion is satisfied. The decision chart shown in Figure 3.1 explains the process [1]. Figure 3.3.1: Decision chart containing steps for iteration loop of HFSS ANSYS. Reviewing An Acid Test For Hilton On paper, 2014 for Hilton appears to have been a successful year; they were able to expand the brand while also adding additional rooms, there was an increase in occupancy over 2013 and revenues were up. While there were noted improvements, for several key indicators, over the company s 2013 financial and operational results, the question still remains as to whether or not there may have been additional opportunity for financial improvement. In 2014 Hilton saw a $.005 cent decrease in their ability to meet their short term debts. While in the scope of the overall operation this decrease may not seem significant, when related to Hilton s low current ratio of 1.107, this result does not provide Hilton much cushion in meeting its current liabilities. This may give pause to potential creditors who may question their ability to meet their obligations. This also indicates that Hilton may benefit from varying their financing activities in order to achieve maximum return, obtaining new equity, or, working toward reducing their liabilities. In reviewing an acid test for Hilton, it s important to note that the company s results of .833 for 2014 were worse than they were in 2013. This tells us that, if put in a situations where Hilton needed to liquidate its quick assets in order to satisfy it s current liabilities, they would be unable to do so which is mainly due to Hilton s inventory comprising of 27% of the company s total assets. Religion During The Early Modern Period Essay Religion was so central to political and military conflict in the early modern period because religion encompassed the era due to the strongly religious cultural society. The centre of conflict deriving from the Catholic and Protestant divide, which caused conflict within politics and the military, because the opposing sides fought over religious territory and popularity. The centre of the conflict within these sectors of religionwas The Reformation and the wars which followed, which created a struggle for power as different religions gained new support and thus power, and others experienced reduced power as a result. The resulting political and military turmoil created the growth of secularism, which attempted to stabilize politicsand the military by increasing control. Therefore religion was so central to political and military conflict in the early modern period because the period was so strongly religious that it had more of an impact on political and military conflict than any other factor, because it was held in a higher regard than politics and the military sustained individually. Religion in the early modern period was the source of people s identity because people were strongly religious due to religious values encompassing the way that society functioned due to the strongly religious culture, a strong contrast with today. In 1854, the LDS church said that they would pay for the first usable coal mine within forty miles of Salt Lake City. The first coal mine was in Summit County. Its name was Coalville, and it was about forty miles from Salt Lake City. The Mormons built a railroad to the Coalville Coal Mine. They also found a mine that would give them fuel for transportation named Castle Gate Mine. Soon the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad was built from 1881 1883. It went to the Book Cliffs; that was discovered as Utahs richest coal deposit. Coal mining had three big challenges The first problem with mining was labor. Most people that worked in the coal mines were immigrants that came because they believed that mining would make them rich. The second problem was money. The workers often complained about how low their wages were, and how high the store prices were in mining camps. The last one was a safety concerns. It was very dangerous working in coal mines. As a result from this misinformation, financial aid took away all of my grants and when I spoke with them about what is going on, they handed me a Special Consideration Form and told me that I shouldn t have to sign up for a payment plan since I should ve been guaranteed to get my grants back. Even though I should have stayed on the side of caution and had my parents sign up for a payment plan, I listened to Financial Aid and told my parents what they had told me and they decided to not sign up for a plan. As luck would have it, after I turned in my forms they then misplaced them and I had to resubmit everything again towards the end of October despite the fact that I had majority of what they had requested in, they misplaced a form that was crucial ... Low levels of ascorbic acid can result in loose teeth, anemia, inability to heal quickly, and easier bruising. In general, though, people with fairly healthy diets get enough of this 3 substance without supplementation. When a person s diet is low in vitamin C, supplementation should be considered to promote overall health. Since most cooking methods deplete the content of vitamin C, one of the best methods for adding it to one s diet is to eat citrus fruits raw, or to very lightly cook green vegetables like broccoli. Spinach salad is a tasty way to add more vitamin C to your diet. Vitamin C has recently been added not just to many foods, but also to

When my family would go on trips and vacations out of state I would listen to music on the car radio and try to memorize all the lyrics, rhythms, tempos, and distinct sounds of the instruments. The first music experience was at the elementary M.E Pearson. When you got to the Fourth grade, the school allowed students to participate in orchestraand gave them the opportunity to learn how to play certain instruments. As I walked into that small trailer and heard the sounds, saw the articulation and how everyone moved as one. I was flabbergasted and knew instantly this is want I wanted to do. Starting Orchestra, I was horrible and I didn t learn how to properly play my first instrument, the cello, until the beginning of sixth grade. As much as I was horrible, orchestra was a positive impact on my life and pushed me to achieve goals. Going down the hall past Mr. Curry s class, bubble and bumpers, and patiently waiting outside the orchestra room at M.E Pearson Elementary were the highlights of each day from fourth to fifth grade. During that time of practice our class would practice articulation, posture, and how to read notes until the bell rang and would let the school know it was time to go home. As boring as it got sometimes, I was always filled with joy and prepared for orchestra the next day. The first time trying out for State was the most intense experience I ever had. Out of all the experiences I have created with

These three elements of the subconscious are known as the Id, the Ego and the Superego, all developing at different stages of our life and all working together with the Conscious mind to create complex human behaviours. The Superego plays the critical moralizing role. The Ego is the organised, realistic part, mediating between the desires of the Id and the Superego. The Superego can stop a person from doing certain things that the Id may want to do. According to Freud, the Ego ensures that the impulses of the Id can be expressed in an acceptable manner it is the reality check, striving to satisfy desires of the Id in socially realistic and appropriate ways. For example, if stuck in a very long meeting, a feeling of increasing hunger may tempt you to rush out of the room to find something to eat! The Ego realistically encourages you to wait, maybe imagining what you will eat once the meeting is over when you can satisfy the demands of the Id in an appropriate and realistic manner. Freud compared the Id to a horse with the Ego as the rider. The horse provides motion and power, the rider provides guidance and direction. The Superego is the morality principle. It holds all of our internalized ideals and moral standards that we acquire from parents, authority figures and society. It is our sense of right and wrong, providing guidelines for making judgements. Freud states that the Superego begins to emerge at around the age of three. The Superego acts to suppress any unacceptable urges of the Id and struggles to make the Ego act upon idealistic standards rather than upon unrealistic principles. These three aspects of the personality the Id, the Ego and the Superego do not operate independently. They are unconscious forces operating under the surface of the thinking and logical Conscious, always interacting within a person thus influencing their overall behaviour and

Shames argues that the account of the frontier advocates an excellent depiction of the concept of more , which has been a consistent American ambition. According to Shames himself, because of this goal of more, Americans have not adopted other values, hopes or ambitions. The frontierbegan extinct. Therefore, Americans who established that open space knew that the area could only grow in wealth. Hopes of the railroad coming through their land and becoming an upward moving area economically was always the goal. It is rabies, an infectious disease spread through the bite of an infected animal such as the dog. Inside Science reported that the mystery behind how the tiny virus exerts its influence has been revealed. Researchers found that a fragment of one of the proteins of the virus can change animal behavior. Altering animal behavior The fragment of the virus protein blocks vital chemical messengers in the brain. It was enough to stop the pumping of the digestive tracts of worms and make rodents run frantically around their cages. When rabies infects dogs, the animal becomes bold and highly aggressive. It will attack people and other creatures that will flee. The rabies infected animal loses the ability to swallow, causing its mouth to overflow with infectious saliva. When an infected dog bites a person, the virus will die without infecting anyone. But the human bite victim often behaves in disturbing and extreme ways. Thiravat Hemenachudha, a rabies researcher and neurologist at the Neuroscience Centre for Research and Development, said the bite victims often scream and overreact to any stimuli, both light and sound. In my experience life begins and life will end, both of those circumstances change the lives of those around you forever. What is even harder, though, is admitting to yourself that you are incorrect, and intentionally changing yourself based on new information. The novel Pride and Prejudice revolves around Elizabeth Bennet and her interactions with Mr. Darcy, a man she originally takes to be rude and cold, but later realizes is generous and well mannered. This realization is part of her coming into maturity. Though she appears as twenty one in the novel, she still only truly comes into womanhood in the moment she admits she was wrong about Mr. Darcy after reading his explanatory letter. More than half of the novel shows Elizabeth hating the man she met at a Netherfield ball.
  • 49. Differences Of Kantianism And Utilitarianism In this paper, I will discuss how Kantianism and Utilitarianism would have oppositional views on the decision to break protocol in order to save a child life. Ethical Dilemma: A child is brought into the emergency department by his mother. The mother is yelling that her child is not breathing. The nurse runs over and takes the child, runs inside the emergency room and yells for a doctor. No doctor has arrived, but another nurse comes into the room and both nurses begin CPR on the child. The nurses talk to one another and agree that the child needed to be intubated immediately in order to survive. However, the doctors were unavailable. The first nurse to respond to the mother decides to intubate the child even though intubation is outside of her scope of practice and she could be fired for performing the intubation. The nurse intubated the child successfully and the child is in a stable condition after the intubation. Utilitarianism: Utilitarianism is a consequentialist philosophy: the righteousness and wrongness of actions dependon the result of the actions, not the intent of the actions. Actions are right if they maximize happiness and decrease pain. It is important to maximize happiness as a collective, not just maximize happiness the pleasure individually. For example, there are opportunities in which sacrificing one s own happiness is acceptable if it results in a greater value of happiness in a community. A Utilitarian can calculate the net worth of actions by calculating the pain and pleasure it each will create. However, during events where there is not enough time for calculation, we can just rely on the rule of thumb, which are basic (common sense) rules, such as not murdering, lying, or cheating. Response to action: An Act Utilitarian would argue that saving the child life was the correct action because the life of a child outweighs the pain that could result if the nurse lost her license. There would be a greater amount of pain if the nurse did not intubate the patient. A child would have died, the mother would have to grieve losing her child, and the healthcare workers would be distraught because they were unable to save the child, even though they had the resources and knowledge to do so.
  • 50. Cultural Ignorance in Heart of Darkness, By Joseph Conrad... An inescapable ignorance dominates the way we define culture . It is all too easy to define culture when a group of people feel as though they are part of the same culture. A bias arises when defining this term, because we consider ourselves to be cultured . We define culture with our own definitions, and we judge it through our own prejudiced eyes. To accurately define culture, we must take ourselves out of the cultural boundaries we have been accustomed to. Of course, this is impossible. Accordingly, defining the essence of culture is something I cannot attempt to do. In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, the attempt to define the cultural line leads to the corruption, greed, and evil of the white man. Even when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They use the natives for work that does not even exist, and a pleasure arises from treating natives as their slaves. At the central station, Marlow is struck by the seemingly pointless operation of the bricklayer. The central station cannot perform its supposed duty due to a lack of material that will never reach the station. The men become paralyzed in a state of inefficiency that traps them in the heart of darkness. Their existence becomes stagnant and non moving. The men waste away their lives placing themselves above the natives for no apparent purpose. In Apocalypse Now, soldiers even begin to surf in the middle of a war battle! Marlow claims, What saves us (those that do work) is efficiency the devotion to efficiency (Conrad 10). They are able to escape the reaches of darkness by keeping their minds set on just doing their job . It seems though, that efficiency does not save these men. Ignorance becomes their real saving grace. By ignoring the greed of his fellow man, the working white man allows his heart to escape this darkness. By refusing to acknowledge the horrible deeds done by those around him, the working man can avoid the inescapable path I referred to previously. So what causes the white man to dive into the heart of darkness? Sure, greed is the primary driving force, but the way the white man feeds his greed causes the problem. Men such as the Manager and Kurtz, see the natives as mere workhorses, as a part of the other world, the

Analysis Of A Song By Maria Williams Many people think that the poem A Song, by Helen Maria Williams, is just a love letter when, in fact, it is more of an expression of her relationship with her inspiration of writing. Helen Maria Williams s best known works are her several volumes of letters and sketches. They narrate the French Revolution, the Age of Bonaparte, and the restoration of the French Monarchy. She was a supporter of the revolution and she wrote these letters to her countrymen in England. Nevertheless, Williams wrote a number of antiwar poems during the 1780s, like Edwin and Eltruda and An Ode to the Peace. In 1786, Helen Maria Williams published a two volume poetrycollection. The collection was titled Poems and A Song is featured there in that area. A Song has six sections. Each section consists of one stanza that has four lines and an ABAB rhyme schemeand the metre is similar to that of an iambic trimeter. Moreover, there is a great use of punctuation. The poem s central theme is loveand how a particular emotional relationship affects the lyrical voice. The first stanza foregrounds the importance of love to the lyrical voice. Throughout the stanzas, the lyrical voice will express his/her particular feelings about something that occurred particularly to him/her. It shows the writing through experience. The poem begins by saying that this lover has no riches and, consequently, couldn t share them with the lyrical voice No riches from his scanty store/ My lover could impart . Notice the alliteration on scanty store , which gives a soft feel to the first part of the stanza. Then, the lyrical voice states that this lover gave him/her something that he/she values more He gave a boon I valued more : his heart He gave me all his heart! . Notice the great emphasis made on the last line and how the lyrical voice accentuates it by using a final dash and creating a pause at the end of the previous line. The second stanza describes the lover. The lyrical voice says about the lover: His soul sincere, his generous worth . And, more importantly, the lyrical voice says he/she is touched by this generosity and sincerity that the lover has Might well this bosom move . It describes the way the lyrical voice sees the

These equations along with the boundary conditions are solved numerically by using Runge Kutta technique along with shooting method. Effects
