Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation Essay
REDD+ leads to increase in both carbon storage and forest conservation. REDD+ mitigation measure
includes REDD, plus conservation of forest carbon stocks, sustainable management of forest, and
enhancement of forest carbon stock.
REDD+ with carbon enhancement objective may increase conversion of bio diverse natural ecosystem
to monoculture with quick species growth. In addition, increase in afforestation and reforestation will
be common by replacing high biodiversity non forest ecosystem (Swan and McNelly, 2011).
Conservation of forest in REDD+ area can lead to displacement (leakage) of deforestation and
degradation to other non REDD+ site. For example, in Indonesia, targeting carbon dense peat land
forest will increase pressure to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The restriction to the local people for the use of forest products and timber logging can increase the
demand for these products and market value. The control of the deforestation and degradation in
REDD+ site increases the agricultural land crisis and demand for the land. Studies indicate that cross
border leakage is a major problem in many areas. In Vietnam between 1987 and 2006, about 39% of
the forest cover was recovered, which was balanced by the forest loss in the neighboring countries
including Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Indonesia (Barlow, et. al., 2012). The conservation or restoration
project in the REDD+ areas without considering the immediate or underlying causes of forest loss can
be more prone to leakage (Miles and Dickson, 2010) causing deforestation elsewhere to meet the
demand for agricultural products and forest needs (Barlow, et. al., 2012).
In the current management system in Nepal, community forestry (CF) is one of the effective
mechanisms to reduce deforestation and increase greenery in the country, but there is uncertainty to
what extent CF supports biodiversity conservation (Acharya, 2003). Community forestry has
contributed to improving and diversifying livelihoods by mobilizing locally available natural forest.
As per the Forest Act (1993), community forest user groups (CFUGs) retain 100% of revenues
generated and 25% are used in forest development

RTI Model Of Internalizing Classroom Behavior
(Mulcahy) Students with EBD often engage in aggressive, challenging, defiant and disruptive
behaviors. (Hawkins) When a teacher is asked to quickly name at least one student they can clearly
remember as challenging their classroom management skills. Most likely, they memory conjures up
recollections of inappropriate outburst, defiant remarks, enticing others students into negative
interactions, and even physically harmful or injurious behaviors. (Farley) Hecker also found that many
teachers felt that students like Jim where not getting their basic needs met at home; they were
frequently sleeping in class and or appearing to be hungry. By middle school Jims parents may
become even less involved in his education. In contrast to the student who is EBD and externalizing
his emotional or concerns, some students internalize their reactions, for example they may anxiety,
withdrawal, or depression. These behaviors are harder to identify because they are not over and
observable. Sometimes, unusual internalizing behaviors such as cutting, practicing poor hygiene,
refusing to speak, crying, appearing sad, and speaking negatively about themselves make students
with internalizing behavior stand out from their peers. (Hecker) Most of the students who are referred

they may have up to 100 students or more, making it difficult to get to know students like Jim better,
or even students like Molly. (Hecker, jdkfj;ajds;fj) The RTI provides a framework for schools to
organize instruction for struggling students. They need to monitor the progress on both academic and
behavioral interventions. With the TRI progress can be reviewed and altered depending if the student
is responding adequately to the intervention.

The Integrated Circuit Using LM35 Temperature Sensor...
Introduction:
The control and monitor of accurate and reliable measurement of temperature is necessary in various
fields such as industrial , environmental, agriculture , food, biotechnology and clinical sectors etc.
furthermore, research labs, clean rooms, and nuclear reactors are the environments which require
continuous temperature monitoring a due to their highly dependence on temperature levels. The role
of sensors and the errors which may affect the measurement of temperature are critical for temperature
measuring devices. The sensor choice may play a large role in on the cost effectiveness of the system.
Every temperature measurement application is according to their different requirements and the effect

They can be used to detect liquid, gases or solids over a wide range of temperatures.
Non contact temperature sensor:
Convection and radiation is used in these types of temperature sensors to monitor change in
temperature. They can be used to detect gases and liquids that emit radiant energy as heat rises and
cold settles to the bottom in convection currents or detect radiant energy being transmitted from an
object in the form of infrared radiation.
Two basic types of contact or non contact temperature sensors can be divided into following groups of
sensors i.e. electromechanical, resistive and electronic.
Thermostat:
It is contact type electro mechanical temperature sensor or switch which basically consists of two
different metals such as nickel copper ,tungsten or aluminium etc., that are bonded together through
riveting, brazing or welding to form a Bi metallic strip. The different linear expansion rates of two
different metals produce a mechanical bending moment when strip is subjected to heat. It shows

The Killer Angel By Michael Shaara
The Killer Angel is a book elaborating on the history of the American civil war authored by Michael
Shaara. The book has gained popularity among American citizens as it covers one of the deadliest
battles in American history that took place at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, hence the title of the battle of
Gettysburg (Shaara 5). The crash involved two major groups, the Confederacy, and the Union. The
Confederacy constituted of seven secessionist states from the South who advocated for slavery while
the Union consisted of the northerners who advocated for the abolition of the slave trade and
recognition of black men as legitimate American citizens. The book widely covers the course of the
battle for the three primary days of the war, which were between 30th June 1863 and 2nd July 1863
(Shaara 32). According to the author, the Confederates are headed by General Robert E. Lee and
General James Longstreet. On their part, the Union army is spearheaded by General John Buford.
However, the battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is considered as the worst battle in the American
Civil War as the two groups lost a significant number of their soldiers (Shaara 37). It is also clear that
the two groups had different reasons for participating in the war. Soldiers from the two sides also had
different motivations hence the morale and willingness to fight on despite the risk of death. The given
essay aims at elaborating on the main reasons why men from the two different groups

What does Nietzsche’s Mr. Daredevil-Curiosity report, when...
What does Nietzsche s Mr. Daredevil Curiosity report, when he metaphorically peers into the
workshop within which moral ideals are fabricated (GM I.14)? How convincing are his claims?
Humanity, according to Nietzsche, is infected by an illness. It is the kind of illness that has infected
every single man, religious or non religious alike. It is his aim to release his readers from the illness.
In much the same way as a doctor, he wishes to do so by primarily sourcing the cause of the illness,
and secondly by diagnosing it. It is Nietzsche s belief that this metaphoric illness is morality.
It is a striking project; comprised of three essays each with the aim of stripping the reader s pre
conceptions of morality, and instead offering the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Continuing the image, Nietzsche refers to some unseen people talking in hushed tones in the
workshop. In this workshop where ideals are made, weakness is being praised as achievement and
impotence into goodness . It is in this revelation Nietzsche expects his readers to be shocked, and even
angry, that their morals are based upon lies.
The Inner workings of the workshop. How our morals have changed over time
Thus far I have explained Nietzsche s notion that our moral system is based upon a set of lies
fabricated by a group of people. At this point in the essay I am happy to accept Nietzsche s
observation that our morals are perhaps not quite what they may seem on the surface. Having accepted
Nietzsche s first proposition ( that our system of morals are perhaps not quite as they seem), I will
now evaluate his reasoning.
Nietzsche begins his account by identifying two basic types of evaluative moral outlook: Master
morality and Slave morality . Master morality refers to moral codes descended from the aristocratic
classes, and slave morality to moral codes descended from the weak and poor herd.
Master morality is characterised by the value opposition of good and bad. Goodness is dependent

A Life Event That Changed My Life
As I am writing/typing this journal based on a life event, which changed my outlook on life, I actually
come across more than several experiences. However, the one event that gave me an outlook on being
strong and tenacious was the birth of my last child. See, I have five children; they are three boys and
two girls. I tell people that I met all the time that God started me with a girl and I ended up with my
last girl. My daughter, who is now three, was born prematurely at 36 weeks. Now, as the reader, you
are wondering how this impacts my life. What is the influence of academic work and goals? Allow me
to explain my theory of this experience. As I sit in the hospital for four days in labor, and praying that

The Application Of Microsoft Office
All started when Bill Gate and Paul Allen, two friends that as early as 13 years old started to mess
around with computers, drop out of college to create their own business. This business founded April
4, 1975 is known today as Microsoft Corporation. Allen and Gates created a basic interpreter for
computers, that was rejected by Digital Research, but later on IBM made a contract with them. The
creation of the MS DOS for IBM in mid 80 s gave Microsoft the high rock success that still last till
this day, making them the dominant operating system for personal computers. Likewise, Microsoft
became at a later time the leading business in office suite software better known as Microsoft Office.
Microsoft Office is a set of programs to serve different purposes for business or personal motives and
developed by Microsoft Corporation.
Although in 1983 Microsoft Word was created and used, it wasn t until 1989 where Microsoft Office
was officially released, which included Word, Excel and Power Point. From that stint, more than a
dozen versions had surface perfecting the applications already integrated, and introducing new one.
For instance, with the announcement of Windows 1.6 Microsoft Office a new application arises, Mail
for PC Networks. In 1992 another version of Microsoft Office was issued in conjunction with the first
Microsoft Office CD Room Software and the first Professional version that encompasses Access.

Symbolism In Phantom Of The Opera
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA BY GASTON LEROUX The novel The Phantom of the Opera ,
by the writer and French researcher Gaston Leroux, is a fabulous work that presents itself to one of the
most beautiful characters of contemporary literature, along with the Hunchback of Notre Dame by
Victor Hugo. The character of Erik is an excellent sample of a social plunder. The world has given him
back since he was born because he was deformed and had to learn to live with it in the darkness of the
basement of the theatre, which was the center of the most wealthy European society (French, no
doubt). Since he was born, Erik, has had to live paying for its ugliness and learning if same life that

As I have said earlier, the moral conflicts of the characters of Erik in the novel The Phantom of the
Opera and Quasimodo in the the Hunchback of Notre Dame are completely similar. In Erik, we see
that person that life has treated so badly, denying him a presentable appearance and trying to stick to
the world in which he lives at all costs although the world you back. Every human being needs
someone to live, it is something that goes without saying it, but unfortunately in the world which we
live, is not always met this requirement, because really how many people in our around are real ghosts
who do not have anyone that tempts them a hand when they need help, or that listen to them when
they need to talk about? Arriving at the conclusion that Erik is a marked character the repulsion of the
man towards everything that is not absolute perfection all of his crimes are justified, according to my
point of view. All the murders committed by does not commit him, but the ghost inside, carrying a
ghost who hates the man who is unable to be moved by the most sublime things of life, as inner love,

Technology And Technological Advancements
Technology s advancements The increasing capabilities of today s digital tools can create harmful
effects and habits on humanity. These days everyone has a smartphone or computer with increasingly
powerful technology. It is truly impressive how far this technology has come just in the past several
years; but is it all as beneficial as advertized? With all the apps and accessories that come with these
powerful machines, it is easy for our generation to take advantage and abuse the privileges associated
with having these devices. In the article Is Google Making Us Stupid , Nicholas Carr an American
writer who has published books and articles on technology, business, and culture states I m not
thinking the way I used to think. I can feel it most strongly when I m reading. Immersing myself in a
book or a lengthy article used to be easy. My mind would get caught up in the narrative or the turns of
the argument, and I d spend hours strolling through long stretches of prose. That s rarely the case
anymore. Now my concentration often starts to drift after two or three pages . I believe this is just one
of the numerous ways technological advancements have spiked our need for stimulation and dulled
our sense of acceptance with solitude and boredom. While I agree with Carr that our concentration
skills have lowered I would also like to shed light on the what social media has done to our
psychological make up. The age that children are exposed to smart technology is quickly

Epic Of Gilgamesh Essay
The Epic of Gilgamesh The Epic of Gilgamesh is an ancient artifact from Sumerian literature. There
actually was a King in Sumer by the name of Gilgamesh, who lived at about 2700 BC. The Epic casts
Gilgamesh as a ruler and great hero and cast as being part man and part god. The story has Gilgamesh
set off with a companion in search of cedar wood to bring back to their woodless land. His companion
is killed during a violent storm. The Sumerian Epic blames the death upon the storm god, Enlil.
Gilgamesh then searches for the plant that restores youth, a recurring theme throughout centuries of

Answer Questions 1. Mesopatamian and Egyptian worldviews can be analyzed by looking at how
each society viewed their gods, their roles in the world and their afterlife. The mes viewed their lives
as being completely dependent upon the gods. The text notes that the mes felt that they were created
by the gods merely to be slaves for the gods. The mes had a truly pessimistic view of their existence.
The Egyptians viewed their kings as being divine and kings viewed their responsibility to maintain
maat as being serious. This right order enabled the king to rule justly and bring social order and
political control to Egypt. Egyptians believed in a pleasant life after death, where people were
rewarded for living a good life. The Egyptians worshipped gods that they believed would extend favor
onto them for doing good. This was much more optimistic view of existence than that of the Mes. The

Fool King Lear
In this world, people have this natural desire to protect the people they love and care for in their lives.
This need can manifest in many ways, at times it comes across as the harsh criticism of a parent and
other times it is the helping hand of a best friend or lover. In Shakespeare s King Lear, the Fool plays
as the protective role toward his master Lear. The Fool uses humour and sarcasm to try and push Lear
to make the smart decision and the Fool acts as his voice of reason, although Lear tends not to fully
comprehend his lessons. Not only does the Fool offer a sense of comic relief for the audience, but his

between his jokes and jabs, the Fool shows how much he cares for Lear and does whatever he can to
try and bring Lear back from insanity. Not only is the Fool in the play for the need of a few witty
lines, but he also proves to be one of the most loyal and protective of Lear s subjects. He does not

is a possibility that the Fool represents Lear s rational mind or that Lear creates him out of need for
that mothering, protective figure. His past and future is never touched on, instead he just simply exists
in the play until he is not needed any further. He is fated never to have been or to become anything or

Literary Analysis Of Two Kinds By Amy Tan
For millions of immigrants, America has been seen as the land of opportunity where anyone could
become anything he or she wanted to be. A family that believes strongly in the American dream can be
found in Amy Tan s short story, Two Kinds. The story centers around the daughter of a Chinese
immigrant who desperately wants her daughter to become successful. In the story, the author shows
the difficult lives immigrants face when moving to a new culture. In this short story, the theme shows
the protagonist s conflict with her mother on the type of daughter her mother wants her to be. The
author establishes the theme of how difficult mother daughter relationships can be through
characterization, setting, and symbolism.
Primarily, Tan establishes the theme of the story through characterization. The protagonist, Jing mei,
finds it difficult to live up to the high expectations her mother has set for her. After seeing so much
disappointment in her mother s face, Jine mei look[s] in the mirror above the bathroom sink and when
[she] saw only [her] face staring back and that it would always be this ordinary face she began to cry
(Tan 2). This bring Jing mei and her mother into conflict with Jing mei eventually screaming at her
mother that [she] wish[ed] she were dead. Like them (Tan 8). As she matures, Jing mei becomes a
little more level headed; she then understands her mother only wants the best for her. Through diction
and language, the author creates a character that is

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (United States)
In the U.S., generally accepted accounting principles, commonly abbreviated as US GAAP or simply
GAAP, are accounting rules used to prepare, present, and report financial statements for a wide variety
of entities, including publicly traded and privately held companies, non profit organizations, and
governments. Generally GAAP includes local applicable Accounting Framework, related accounting
law, rules and Accounting Standard.

This principle allows greater evaluation of actual profitability and performance (shows how much was

principle.
Disclosure principle. Amount and kinds of information disclosed should be decided based on trade off
analysis as a larger amount of information costs more to prepare and use. Information disclosed
should be enough to make a judgment while keeping costs reasonable. Information is presented in the
main body of financial statements, in the notes or as supplementary information

Objectivity principle: the company financial statements provided by the accountants should be based
on objective evidence.
Materiality principle: the significance of an item should be considered when it is reported. An item is

Prudence principle: when choosing between two solutions, the one that will be least likely to overstate

The Process of Criminal Profiling as it Pertains to Serial...
The process of criminal profiling as it pertains to serial killers is extremely interesting and much more
common than one would first think. This study deals with the research into the developmental and
psychological approaches to serial killers. In the process of studying these offenders, researchers have
discovered that crime scene manifestations of behavioral patterns enabled the investigators to discover
much about the offender (Jones The Process of Criminal Profiling When Applied To A Serial Killer 1).
Most crime scenes can tell long detailed stories, and with the right investigators following every detail
within that story, the positive chance of finding a conclusion to that story is not always there.
Investigators must always keep ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Profiling can piece together such a complete picture of the offender with traits of the offender s
including sex, age, occupation, disorders, upbringing, marital status, home, type of car they drive, etc
(Forensic Psychology 2).
Before the term serial killer was coined in the mid 1970 s, such murders were referred to as stranger
murders. The term stranger murders was used to differentiate the victims of serial killings from the
victims who were killed by people he or she knew, usually family members. The great killers of
history had been ones who had killed their wives, or possibly massacred their family members one by
one. For most people, the idea and the emotional components of intrafamilial violence could seem
somewhat understandable. At one time or another, most people processed the thought of raising an
angry hand at a child or spouse, and could even comprehend how, in a fit of rage, such an emotion
could escalate to murder. In contrast, the emotional components of a stranger murder seemed
unreasonable and incomprehensible to people (Ressler and Shachtman I Have Lived In The Monster
46).
There are three possible manifestations of offender behavior at a crime scene modus operandi,
personation or signature, and staging. Each of these manifestations plays an important role of
analyzing a crime scene in terms of human behavior (Douglas and Munn 1). Modus operandi is the
offender s actions while committing the crime, and the victimology.

Teens today have changed with they years and now see things differently as they did back then. These
teens also have many similarities that have stayed with them in the young culture. After the war, the
youth had grown to have more liberty and now have a strong voice in the culture today.
In today s youth, teens and young adults do have some differences from the adolescence in the 1950s.
The juvenility today truly relies on technology so much that it influences the culture. With the
technology acquired, many social media apps and networks greatly impact the teens today. Trends and

Rock n Roll was really popular at this time and was teen s favorite music genre at the time. With the
heavy beats and attention grabbing rhythm, rock n roll appealed to teens. The young adults would buy
recordings from famous artists, such as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and Bill Haley and the Comets.
Later in 1956, teenagers found their first rock n roll hero in music and movie star, Elvis Presley. With
all the new music coming out, not every teen could afford to buy new albums or to listen to new music
due to poverty. The 1950s saw a large expansion of the middle class and at least one in five americans

Correlation Between Motivation And Achievement
Brown and Wahlberg designed a study in which they intended to demonstrate an independent causal
relationship between motivation and achievement (Brown Wahlberg, 1993). They purported to have
devised a study with a randomized assignment of students to conditions eliciting different degrees of
motivation (Brown Wahlberg, 1993, p. 134). The question for the researchers remained what is the
effect of experimentally manipulated motivational conditions on elementary math scores (Brown
Wahlberg, 1993, p. 133). The study remains a randomized quantitative mixed methods quasi
experimental study of 406 heterogeneously grouped students in third, fourth and sixth through eighth
grades in Chicago Public Schools (Brown Wahlberg, 1993). Three schools were selected to participate
in the study. The student populations in each school were described as lower middle working class and
predominantly Hispanic and African American (Brown Wahlberg, 1993). Respective of each school,
two classes were randomly selected out of each grade level and randomly assigned to experimental
groups. The participant groups were administered the Mathematics Concept subtest of the Iowa Basic
Skills (ITBS) 1978, Levels 9 14. The ITBS was selected for its high reliability rating of 0.85 and its
correlation with school curriculum (Brown Wahlberg, 1993). One group received standard testing
instructions while the other group received an additional set of motivational instructions read from a
script.

The Importance Of Japanese Culture And Society
In societies across the world, religion has always had the ability to unite the people into communities
through its rituals and celebrations. Japanese society is a major example of how people can join
together as a community to celebrate their unique beliefs. However, this would then often raise the
question of which came first; the close knit community who started the religion, or the religion that
jumpstarted everything and brought people together. The truth of the matter is, if one were to look at
Japanese culture and society, it is rather apparent that ancient religions such as Buddhism and Shinto
form rituals and traditions which would then later shape the ceremonies that the community partake
in. These ceremonies are essentially festivals that villages put together to show respect and
acknowledgement for a certain religion or an important event. Festivals are done with the most
dedication among everybody in a village or town, and it is this dedication that proves how important
festivals are to the community. Essentially, the religion is the driving force behind a culture s
communal bond, and it is the festivals such as the Kenka Matsuri, Namahage Matsuri, and the Gion
Matsuri that are physical representation of this union. However, these religious festivals have proven
to lose its religious background and tradition and start to converge into a celebration of the community
itself. A very well known festival that Japan usually takes pride in is the Kenka Matsuri, or also

A Feasibility Study Example
A respectable business is always looking for ways to better serve their customers, especially a
cooperative, but this is sometimes easier said than done. To help determine how achievable a better
service would be for a business a feasibility study is often preformed. The Farmers Cooperative
Association of Snyder, OK is interested in purchasing an automatic truck probe as well as building an
additional receiving pit and leg to attach to the existing wheat tanks. So, a feasibility study was
preformed to determine if either option would be a practical investment. The first step for this process
was to get a couple of quotes for an automatic truck probe. After some research on different brands the

It would also allow for samples to be taken from several different locations on the truck. Furthermore,
having an automatic probe takes out an employ which allows for that money to benefit the
membership of the co op thus allowing the co op to give better service to the customers. The main risk
in this investment would be the ability to afford the cost of a probe. With the wheat market
deteriorating the possibility going into the hole on this investment increases drastically. Damage to the
probe is also a possibility, and a additional expense that could make the probe less profitable. But in
this case the benefits seem to outweigh the risks making this investment one to consider to better serve
the customer. After some research was done on the automatic truck probe the focus was shifted to the
addition of a new receiving pit and leg. Pitcock Supply Inc. was contacted by the intern for a quote
and they sent out an agent to take measurements for the location and get all the specifics. The quote
allowed for a 15,000 BPH Schlagel conveyor, concrete pit, concrete pad, and a Schlagel distributer.
The total which included labor, misc. equipment, rentals, paint, freight, a crane, and insurance came to
$304,698.55. An investment of this size usually comes with risks to match, therefor it is imperative to
consider. Looking at the figure above, it is easy to see what an enormous risk this would be for the co

The Book Of Job Controversy
The text The Book of Job, interpreted and translated by Stephen Mitchell, raises great controversy in
the world of righteousness. It is a well known, universal text, and with each new interpreter who
translates, there is a new version of the story brought to the surface. William Blake partakes in this
conflict of ideas through his artwork rather than his writing. His art reflects his own personal view of
the text and has both similar and differentiating opinions than Mitchell s own on the key events in the
book. Narrowing it down to Blake s ideas behind the scene depicted in Figure A alongside Mitchell s
in the text, it is a perfect demonstration of the two interpretations clashing and blending their ideas.
Starting with Mitchell s written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By directing the attention onto not only the main illustration, but also the art located on the border, one
is able to further deduce Blake s interpretation. Shown in Figure A, directly under the main illustration
there appears to be two birds, a crow and an owl, in some sort of quarrel. Based on the context of the
dispute happening in the main illustration, it is safe to assume that these birds represent the opposing
sides of the argument. The crow, appearing more aggravated, shows more correlation to the three
friend s side, and the owl, while alarmed but not nearly as aggressive looking, leans more towards Job
s. The crow is a common symbol of evil, bad luck, and even death. If Blake drew the connection from
the crow to the three friends, then it can be inferred that Blake has a rather negative outlook on them
and their side of this fight. Rather than looking into the logic behind it, Blake seems to base his
interpretation of these characters on their words and actions from the text, which paint them as truly
terrible acquaintances. In order to further depict this, Blake illustrates the three friends in the most
judgemental fashion: lined up together, all with their pointer fingers outstretched in accusation
towards Job. Their expressions do not fall short of condemning or angry. Job on the other hand,
connected to the owl, is seen as a wise man in Blake s eyes. At the very least, Blake agrees with Job s
reasoning and sticks to the wise side of the is Job a wise man debate. Job himself also gives way to
Blake s thoughts through his body language in the illustration. Eyes cast to the heavens, palms faced
out in a questionly manner, his look of grief and questioning directly portrays Blake s vision of Job s
immense suffering. This theme of suffering once again connects to the border of the print. The
desperate looking humanoid figures bound by chains lead to the conclusion that Blake overemphasizes

Presidential Election of 1912 was a period of time, where presidential candidates have a lot to deal

economic crisis, the country has reached a reality where, according to WFP (2016), Guatemala has not
only the highest rate of malnutrition in Latin America, but also is considered the country with the
fourth biggest rate of chronic malnutrition worldwide. This topic has an enormous relevance because
as WFP (2016) mentions, the chronic malnutrition that kids from this country go though is what makes
Guatemala be one of the 36 countries in the world that form 90% of the worlds stunting. According to
Unicef (2016), the percentage of children of five years or less that are considered to be underweight is

country of Guatemala that is undernourished. In the following paragraphs it will be examined
questions involving the relation that mothers have with the under nutrition of the children and if past
generations can influence under nutrition. Furthermore, it will be examined what is traditionally given
to kids at a daycare.
Is there a correlation between the relationships that mothers have with their children s under nutrition
at an early age? Can the current situation of malnutrition have been influenced by past generations?

How The Water Feels To The Fishes Analysis
Ignorance is bliss as said by many people. As defined in the dictionary it is, lack of knowledge or
information (google). It could be a blessing or a curse. In this case, humans being ignorant is a curse.
Our thoughts have been so conditioned that our curiosity has been stolen from us. We no longer have
her own unique thoughts, we just go with what we are told. In How The Water Feels To The Fishes by
Dave Eggers, he writes how ignorant humans can be to everyday things like, air.
People always ask the fishes, what does the water feel like to you? and the fishes are always happy to
oblige (23).The fish have more wisdom compared to the humans. They are more attendant and aware
of their surroundings. They know how ignorant the humans can be and always try to help them out.
They explain to the humans how water can feel like the fur of a chinchilla (23). Or like the tongue of a
cat (23). It can feel many different ways depending on the temperature or time of the day. When it s
cold out, the water is like cracked glass. Or honey (23). When honey gets cold it turns solid, like an

it means academics, wealth, happiness, or health. This topic interests me in particular because it is
something we can all get into common grounds with. No matter who you are or what you do the

Having the right mindset goes a long way when you are trying to become successful. You have to be
able to have faith in your own ability and manage negative thoughts so they do not discourage you.
According to Matt Mayberry, a former pro football player, turned into a motivational speaker believes
that, To be successful, you need to have a positive mental attitude, or PMA. If you do nothing about
negative thoughts, chances are you will be settling for average. Mayberry s point is that you need to
have a positive outlook on life for good things to happen. This is something many people struggle
with when they hit roadblocks in what they are trying to achieve and end up losing faith not only on
themselves, and also start to question if they are even good enough to strive for more. You have to
actually believe that it can be done. Belief in oneself is a critical first step of being successful because
no one may have faith in you at first. This way, you will have the confidence needed to take a
leadership role if the opportunity were to present itself. Being positive when facing obstacles can also
be called a Growth Mindset. According to Michael Gram Richard, who is an author and an editor he
states, Growth Mindset believe that intelligence can be developed, and that the brain is like a muscle
that can be trained. This leads to the desire to improve. In other words, Gram believes that everyone
has the same intelligence you just have to develop it. People with this type of mindset do not let
obstacles stand in their way, instead they try to find a way around them. This is a very important trait
to have considering that many successful people face countless obstacles. Also, with a Growth
Mindset the person is always willing to better themselves, and do not get intimidated with the ability
of others. Instead, people with Growth Mindsets will try to

Good Without Evil In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
What is good without evil? Without evil, there would be no possible way for good to exist. Every
good aspect of something, there is always an underlying evil. This is shown in various literary periods
throughout history. In the epic, Ramayana, written by Valmiki, Rama is virtuous, wise, powerful and
respects others while batting Ravana. While the evil demon named Ravana is short tempered,
arrogant, and has no heroic elements when kidnapping Rama s wife, Sita. Rama is able to accomplish
what no one else can do which allows him to marry Sita. An evil demon named Ravana hears about
Sita s beauty, he then kidnaps her. Rama is desperate to win Sita back, so Lakshmana, his brother
helps by forming an alliance with the monkey king, Sugriva. They then invade Lanka with an arm of
monkeys. After many violent battles, Rama defeats Ravana and wins back Sita. Similar to Ramayana,
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight written by The Gawain Poet, also has good and evil aspects that
complement each other, without one, you cannot have the other. Sir Gawain is the good character that
stood up to the Green Knight s challenge and keeps his word to find the Green Knight a year and a day
later. The Green Knight is the evil enemy is the story that challenges a knight of the round table to a
contest. Both authors of Ramayana and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight exhibits several examples to

Dehumanization In The Little Mermaid
By acknowledging its sexist, gendered iconography, Hans Christian Anderson s, The Little Mermaid
(1836) subsequently establishes itself as a particularly damaging fairy tale to impressionable child
readers. Through the use of recurring images of dehumanization, sacrifice, and the tension of
naturality versus artificiality, Anderson s text promotes the deprivation of female individuality, in
favor of a domineering male power. The work ultimately serves to degrade the readers abilities to
develop the necessary skills for equality that contemporary Feminism advocates (OED).
Images of dehumanization exploring the deprivation of female individuality and the text s overall
impairment to children s understanding of equality are primarily apparent through the Little Mermaid
s lack of a soul (Anderson par 20). Specifically, just as a soul is by definition, the essential, immaterial
part of a human being, by articulating that the Little Mermaid does not have one, it alternately
communicates that she is not inherently a person but something undeveloped and lesser (OED).
Likewise, by having to rely on the Prince in an attempt to get a soul, this process leads to the Little
Mermaid s objectification and loss of personal agency. For instance, this relationship renders her from
a place of power as a Princess and into the image of a sort of prostitute, who has no voice, and must
entice the Prince s affections with only (her) form and other body languages (Anderson The Little
Mermaid). In this way, the Little Mermaid becomes the same image of the statue in her garden that
she idealizes something formed as an imitation of a person but, with no accessible complex nuances of
character (Anderson, The Little Mermaid). She does not even have a name, the demonstration of one s
unique identity linguistically. Instead, the text chooses to represent the Little Mermaid through a title
that highlights only her physical appearance (Anderson, The Little Mermaid) (OED).
As such, these images are problematic because they aid in concretizing a distortion of gender
dynamics to the deficit of female power. Notably, they do this with the idea that, where men are born
with the intrinsic qualities of personhood, girls must prove often

The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake And Jack London s Reportings
The earthquake on April 18, 1906, in San Francisco is considered one of the most important
earthquakes ever. Ultimately, its main significance comes from the knowledge gained from it, not just
the size of it. It was the first large natural disaster captured with photographs. The geologists of the
time didn t know what could have caused such a large earthquake as plate tectonics wasn t a very
popular theory back then. Studying the movement and crust near the fault, Reid developed a theory
called Elastic Rebound theory, which is still used to this day to explain earthquakes (The Great 1906
San Francisco Earthquake). Foreshocks began at approximately 5:12 AM California time. Then, not
half a minute later, the main earthquake occurred. The epicenter wasn t actually in San Francisco, but
it was close. Most of the damage in San Francisco was caused by fire which burned the town for three
consecutive days and nights. In areas along the fault line, most of the damage was caused by shaking.
After the disaster occurred, the public had to obtain information on this earthquake from reports and
photographs, which had to be sent all across the country. One of the most influential reporters was
Jack London. His importance comes from his effectiveness in telling without pictures what was
happening in San Francisco. One of

Generic Vs Brand Ativan Essay
Which is Better: Cheap Ativan (Generic) or Brand Ativan?
When you surf the internet, you will find that there are two kinds of lorazepam on the market. One
version will be very costly while the other kind of lorazepam is relatively cheaper. Should people stick
with the costlier brand name version of Ativan medication or choose the cheap version?
Brand vs. Generic
The original company to introduce lorazepam to the world intended the medication to act as a cure for
anxiety and other stress conceived problems. During the first few years of Ativan being on the market,
the original company, also known as the mother company, had exclusive rights to the FDA approved
drug. Since that company had incurred millions of dollars in expenses during the testing, researching,
and marketing of lorazepam, the price of the medication was very high. After the mother company s
patent rights had expired, a lot of other companies started to make their own version of Ativan. Since
the research and testing processes were already done by the mother company, the companies can

1) Define evolution
Evolution refers to change over time as species modifies and separate to produce several offspring
species.
2) Define physical anthropology
Physical anthropology is concerned with the evolution of humans, their origin, diversity, as well as
adaptations to environmental stresses.
Discuss some of the general ways physical anthropologists investigate evolution
Physical anthropologists investigate evolution through various ways in order to give a well
understanding of human evolution and these are relative dating research, theoretical research, fossil
research and environmental research. I will try to expound how each research method is relevant to
anthropological study.
Relative Dating
This method is used to determine the exact age of fossils, artifacts and the earth. This involves,
examining several strata of the crust of the earth to show the time intervals of one layer of rock to
another layer as well as use the layering principle to confirm the series of cultures.
Fluorine dating is a method is centered on the principle that the element fluorine from the soil is
absorbed by fossil bones. The elements fluorine is buried in the soil and therefore the lengthier they
are buried, the bones will have more fluorine. However, this method requires several samples taken
from an immediate location.
Theoretical Research
Evolutionary theory is an important part of physical anthropology as it helps the researchers to have a

The Prevalence of Depression after Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
Chantelle Spence

The Prevalence of Depression after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery Coronary Artery Bypass
Graft (CABG) surgery is a widely used surgical procedure for the relief of symptoms of Coronary
Artery Disease (Bagielia, Connerney, McLaughlin, Shapiro, Sloan, 2001, p. 1766). Coronary Artery
Disease is the narrowing of the blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscles.
The buildup of fatty material within the walls of the arteries causes cardiac diseases (Coronary Artery
Bypass Surgery,, 2010) .To resolve this issue, surgeons take veins and arteries from elsewhere in the
patient s body. Then, surgeons graft the veins and arteries to the coronary arteries to bypass the
atherosclerotic narrowing and improve the blood supply to the heart muscles (Coronary Artery Bypass
Surgery,, 2010). This procedure increases the blood flow to the heart by giving the blood a new route
around the diseased or clogged artery (Bagielia, Connerney, McLaughlin, Shapiro, Sloan, 2001).
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery is predominately effective in reducing the symptoms of cardiac
disease. Despite that fact, research has shown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Gender Issues in Washington Irving s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
At first glance, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving seems to be an innocent tale
about a superstitious New England town threatened by a strange new comer, Icabod Crane. However,
this descriptive narrative is more than just a simple tale because it addresses several gender issues that
deserve attention. The pervasiveness of female influence in Sleepy Hollow and the conflict between
male and female storytelling in this Dutch community are two pertinent gender issues that complicate
Irving s work and ultimately enable the women of Sleepy Hollow to control the men and maintain
order.
Irving s main character, Icabod Crane, causes a stir and disrupts ... Show more content on

Rather, we are left with a sense of relief at Crane s removal from Sleepy Hollow. Thus the tale
presents a stark contrast to Rip Van Winkle. In that story, women attempt and fail to confront men
openly; in Sleepy Hollow, female behavior is much more subversive and effective.
Female behavior in Sleepy Hollow is a result of its feminine setting. Irving s tale preserves the
maintenance of the feminine and the landscape is described as having maternal characteristics. For
example, Sleepy Hollow lies in the bosom of a cove lining the Hudson (Irving 948), and the valley is
embosomed in the great state of New York (Irving 950). Clearly the repose and security of Sleepy
Hollow rest in the maternal landscape an assumption so pervasive that even our male narrator attests
to it. For as he observes, the act of naming falls to women in this Dutch village. For example, The
good house wives of the adjacent country, from the inveterate propensity of their husbands to linger
about the village tavern on market days, have named the nearby rural port Tarry Town (Irving 948).
The name and power of naming thus operates as a gently sarcastic means of reproaching unruly
husbands and of preserving female dominance over the Hollow.
In the beginning of the tale Irving describes the narrator as

  • 2. Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation Essay REDD+ leads to increase in both carbon storage and forest conservation. REDD+ mitigation measure includes REDD, plus conservation of forest carbon stocks, sustainable management of forest, and enhancement of forest carbon stock. REDD+ with carbon enhancement objective may increase conversion of bio diverse natural ecosystem to monoculture with quick species growth. In addition, increase in afforestation and reforestation will be common by replacing high biodiversity non forest ecosystem (Swan and McNelly, 2011). Conservation of forest in REDD+ area can lead to displacement (leakage) of deforestation and degradation to other non REDD+ site. For example, in Indonesia, targeting carbon dense peat land forest will increase pressure to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The restriction to the local people for the use of forest products and timber logging can increase the demand for these products and market value. The control of the deforestation and degradation in REDD+ site increases the agricultural land crisis and demand for the land. Studies indicate that cross border leakage is a major problem in many areas. In Vietnam between 1987 and 2006, about 39% of the forest cover was recovered, which was balanced by the forest loss in the neighboring countries including Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Indonesia (Barlow, et. al., 2012). The conservation or restoration project in the REDD+ areas without considering the immediate or underlying causes of forest loss can be more prone to leakage (Miles and Dickson, 2010) causing deforestation elsewhere to meet the demand for agricultural products and forest needs (Barlow, et. al., 2012). In the current management system in Nepal, community forestry (CF) is one of the effective mechanisms to reduce deforestation and increase greenery in the country, but there is uncertainty to what extent CF supports biodiversity conservation (Acharya, 2003). The book has gained popularity among American citizens as it covers one of the deadliest battles in American history that took place at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, hence the title of the battle of Gettysburg (Shaara 5). The crash involved two major groups, the Confederacy, and the Union. The Confederacy constituted of seven secessionist states from the South who advocated for slavery while the Union consisted of the northerners who advocated for the abolition of the slave trade and recognition of black men as legitimate American citizens. The book widely covers the course of the battle for the three primary days of the war, which were between 30th June 1863 and 2nd July 1863 (Shaara 32). According to the author, the Confederates are headed by General Robert E. Lee and General James Longstreet. On their part, the Union army is spearheaded by General John Buford. However, the battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is considered as the worst battle in the American Civil War as the two groups lost a significant number of their soldiers (Shaara 37). It is also clear that the two groups had different reasons for participating in the war. Soldiers from the two sides also had different motivations hence the morale and willingness to fight on despite the risk of death. • 25. The Importance Of Japanese Culture And Society In societies across the world, religion has always had the ability to unite the people into communities through its rituals and celebrations. Japanese society is a major example of how people can join together as a community to celebrate their unique beliefs. However, this would then often raise the question of which came first; the close knit community who started the religion, or the religion that jumpstarted everything and brought people together. The truth of the matter is, if one were to look at Japanese culture and society, it is rather apparent that ancient religions such as Buddhism and Shinto form rituals and traditions which would then later shape the ceremonies that the community partake in. These ceremonies are essentially festivals that villages put together to show respect and acknowledgement for a certain religion or an important event. Festivals are done with the most dedication among everybody in a village or town, and it is this dedication that proves how important festivals are to the community. Essentially, the religion is the driving force behind a culture s communal bond, and it is the festivals such as the Kenka Matsuri, Namahage Matsuri, and the Gion Matsuri that are physical representation of this union. However, these religious festivals have proven to lose its religious background and tradition and start to converge into a celebration of the community itself. It would also allow for samples to be taken from several different locations on the truck. Furthermore, having an automatic probe takes out an employ which allows for that money to benefit the membership of the co op thus allowing the co op to give better service to the customers. The main risk in this investment would be the ability to afford the cost of a probe. With the wheat market deteriorating the possibility going into the hole on this investment increases drastically. Damage to the probe is also a possibility, and a additional expense that could make the probe less profitable. But in this case the benefits seem to outweigh the risks making this investment one to consider to better serve the customer. After some research was done on the automatic truck probe the focus was shifted to the addition of a new receiving pit and leg. Pitcock Supply Inc. was contacted by the intern for a quote and they sent out an agent to take measurements for the location and get all the specifics. The quote allowed for a 15,000 BPH Schlagel conveyor, concrete pit, concrete pad, and a Schlagel distributer. • 28. The Book Of Job Controversy The text The Book of Job, interpreted and translated by Stephen Mitchell, raises great controversy in the world of righteousness. It is a well known, universal text, and with each new interpreter who translates, there is a new version of the story brought to the surface. William Blake partakes in this conflict of ideas through his artwork rather than his writing. His art reflects his own personal view of the text and has both similar and differentiating opinions than Mitchell s own on the key events in the book. Narrowing it down to Blake s ideas behind the scene depicted in Figure A alongside Mitchell s in the text, it is a perfect demonstration of the two interpretations clashing and blending their ideas. Starting with Mitchell s written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By directing the attention onto not only the main illustration, but also the art located on the border, one is able to further deduce Blake s interpretation. Shown in Figure A, directly under the main illustration there appears to be two birds, a crow and an owl, in some sort of quarrel. Based on the context of the dispute happening in the main illustration, it is safe to assume that these birds represent the opposing sides of the argument. The crow, appearing more aggravated, shows more correlation to the three friend s side, and the owl, while alarmed but not nearly as aggressive looking, leans more towards Job s. The crow is a common symbol of evil, bad luck, and even death. If Blake drew the connection from the crow to the three friends, then it can be inferred that Blake has a rather negative outlook on them and their side of this fight. Rather than looking into the logic behind it, Blake seems to base his interpretation of these characters on their words and actions from the text, which paint them as truly terrible acquaintances. In order to further depict this, Blake illustrates the three friends in the most judgemental fashion: lined up together, all with their pointer fingers outstretched in accusation towards Job. Their expressions do not fall short of condemning or angry. Job on the other hand, connected to the owl, is seen as a wise man in Blake s eyes. At the very least, Blake agrees with Job s reasoning and sticks to the wise side of the is Job a wise man debate. Job himself also gives way to Blake s thoughts through his body language in the illustration. Eyes cast to the heavens, palms faced out in a questionly manner, his look of grief and questioning directly portrays Blake s vision of Job s immense suffering. This theme of suffering once again connects to the border of the print. The desperate looking humanoid figures bound by chains lead to the conclusion that Blake overemphasizes (and ... If you do nothing about negative thoughts, chances are you will be settling for average. Mayberry s point is that you need to have a positive outlook on life for good things to happen. This is something many people struggle with when they hit roadblocks in what they are trying to achieve and end up losing faith not only on themselves, and also start to question if they are even good enough to strive for more. You have to actually believe that it can be done. Belief in oneself is a critical first step of being successful because no one may have faith in you at first. • 36. Dehumanization In The Little Mermaid By acknowledging its sexist, gendered iconography, Hans Christian Anderson s, The Little Mermaid (1836) subsequently establishes itself as a particularly damaging fairy tale to impressionable child readers. Through the use of recurring images of dehumanization, sacrifice, and the tension of naturality versus artificiality, Anderson s text promotes the deprivation of female individuality, in favor of a domineering male power. The work ultimately serves to degrade the readers abilities to develop the necessary skills for equality that contemporary Feminism advocates (OED). Images of dehumanization exploring the deprivation of female individuality and the text s overall impairment to children s understanding of equality are primarily apparent through the Little Mermaid s lack of a soul (Anderson par 20). Specifically, just as a soul is by definition, the essential, immaterial part of a human being, by articulating that the Little Mermaid does not have one, it alternately communicates that she is not inherently a person but something undeveloped and lesser (OED). Likewise, by having to rely on the Prince in an attempt to get a soul, this process leads to the Little Mermaid s objectification and loss of personal agency. For instance, this relationship renders her from a place of power as a Princess and into the image of a sort of prostitute, who has no voice, and must entice the Prince s affections with only (her) form and other body languages (Anderson The Little Mermaid). In this way, the Little Mermaid becomes the same image of the statue in her garden that she idealizes something formed as an imitation of a person but, with no accessible complex nuances of character (Anderson, The Little Mermaid). She does not even have a name, the demonstration of one s unique identity linguistically. Instead, the text chooses to represent the Little Mermaid through a title that highlights only her physical appearance (Anderson, The Little Mermaid) (OED). As such, these images are problematic because they aid in concretizing a distortion of gender dynamics to the deficit of female power. Notably, they do this with the idea that, where men are born with the intrinsic qualities of personhood, girls must prove often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Coronary Artery Bypass Exercise The Prevalence of Depression after Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery Chantelle Spence Nova Southeastern University The Prevalence of Depression after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery is a widely used surgical procedure for the relief of symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease (Bagielia, Connerney, McLaughlin, Shapiro, Sloan, 2001, p. 1766). Coronary Artery Disease is the narrowing of the blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscles. The buildup of fatty material within the walls of the arteries causes cardiac diseases (Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery,, 2010) .To resolve this issue, surgeons take veins and arteries from elsewhere in the patient s body. Then, surgeons graft the veins and arteries to the coronary arteries to bypass the atherosclerotic narrowing and improve the blood supply to the heart muscles (Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery,, 2010). This procedure increases the blood flow to the heart by giving the blood a new route around the diseased or clogged artery (Bagielia, Connerney, McLaughlin, Shapiro, Sloan, 2001).
