wonderful, many teens are not mentally and/or physically prepared for children so young. For many
people, it is believed that many teens are pressured to have unsafe and dangerous intercourse by the
media. Although some teens (13 19) have unprotected sex early on purpose, many are influenced by
sex based commercials and advertisements because of lack of contraceptive ads, parental control, and
sexual content in movies and TV show. While some teens choose to have unprotected copulation, or
intercourse, many are not aware of the dangers because of lack of contraceptive advertising. On

Suffering may even happen on its own to make progress. People like Sydney Carton from the book A
Tale of Two Cities realize that unless he gives everything, the promise of a new peaceful future will
remain unfulfilled. Paralleling Dickens novel, Karl Marx believed that knowing and having suffering
will bring a synthesis of some sort (Stearns, Burns 6). Sometimes we forget that suffering can be self
inflicted as well as out of our control. Here the fictional character Sydney Carton takes someone s
place to die to save someone he loves. He didn t want to do this, but in order to make progress in the
world he felt it was necessary. Along with an individual causing suffering to produce, similarly the
larger universe can have suffering to cause change. To explain why suffering happens, Tom Honey in
a TED talk said Perhaps there is a great, cosmic plans that allows for horrible suffering so that
everything will work out okay in the end (3). Even though Honey is a Christian and not everyone
believes in what he does, everyone can think about the possibility of something big causing all
suffering. The idea of a greater plan in the universe causing suffering to cause progress is just another
way to think about the role of suffering. In both cases progress can be seen after suffering. People tend
to think about when it s been caused by outside forces. There can be times when someone has
sacrificed purposely to help progress. Sydney Carton made the hard but necessary decision to him to
die to save Lucie. The sacrifice allowed Lucie and her family to stay together. This was possible
because Sydney gave his life. Suffering brings about change that couldn t have come without it. When
a tsunami struck and caused devastating losses, Honey came up with new ways of thinking about God.

only has one friend named Marisol. Rachel loves to bake and she is very good at it. Evan Riley is an

domestication of foxes, although the process was very detailed; with genetic science, to identify how

Comfort women, or ianfu as they are called in Korean, are females who were forced sex slaves for the
Japanese Imperial Army (Chunghee). Some of the women were dragged off with physical force as
their families wept, while others were actually sold to the army by their destitute families (Watanabe).
Still other were officially drafted by the Japanese Imperial Army and believed they would be factory

The majority of Korean women seem to have come from lower class worker and farmer families.
Korean and other Asian women were assigned to lower ranking soldiers, while Japanese and European
women were reserved for higher ranking officers (Watanabe). This obviously portrays the
condescending attitude the Japanese had toward Koreans.
Japanese military leaders formulated the concept of comfort women in order to stop soldiers from
committing sexual violence towards women they might encounter. Japanese Lieutenant General
Okamura Yasuji proposed that comfort women should be shipped to Shanghai to solve the problem of
223 rapes reportedly committed by troops there (Kim). One former comfort woman reported that in
some places, soldiers were so desperate for some kind of outlet for their sexual desires that they had
intercourse with dogs (Kim in Schellstede 32). It is estimated that over 125 million forced sexual acts
took place between Japanese soldiers and comfort women in the span of only five years (Kim). The
