Cuttings from the Carmenere grape were imported by Chilean growers from Bordeaux in France
during the 19th century. They modelled their wineries after those in France and in the 1850s
cuttings from Bordeaux, which included the Carmenere grape, were planted in the valleys around
Santiago. Thanks to Chile s minimal rainfall and moderate temperatures during the growing season
and the protection of the countries natural boundaries, growers produced healthier crops of
Carmenere and there was no spread of phylloxera, or any other decease. During most of the 20th

Mrs. K has been on hemodialysis since Nov 2011 and anuric since 2012. Biopsy results at the time
showed minimal change disease like lesion which was thought to be related to daily NSAID use for
chronic headaches. Her cardiovascular, pulmonary, immunologic/infectious risk assessments were
without significant findings. The transplant committee reviewed her case and she was considered a
candidate for deceased kidney transplant.
After being placed on the transplant list, an altruistic, unrelated donor offered to provide a kidney.
Screening was completed. ABO compatibility between donor and recipient was confirmed. T and B
cell cross matches were negative.
Given her long term dialysis, anesthesia was consulted for pre operative assessment. She was
determined to be ASA class 3. She had good functional capacity stating she can climb 3 flights of
stairs. In addition to her screening for transplant, anesthesia discussed the risks, mortality, and
morbidity associated with induction of anesthesia.

Before 1994 gender role attitudes were not seen as egalitarian. In fact, society was nowhere near to

In high school I have had so many opportunities to be involved in leadership positions and
allowing me to have great experiences. A couple leadership groups that I am currently in are Got
Bounce? and Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP). Got Bounce? is a group that promotes
positive resilience throughout our schoolcommunity district and allows us to do community

The Effect of Jim Crow Laws on the American South
Soon after the Civil War, the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the Constitution abolished
slavery, granted citizenship, and provided equal protection to formerly enslaved people. However,
most southern states figured out ways to avoid these new laws and continued to deny the social
and political rights of African Americans. Laws were passed and other measures were enforced by
white southerners to produce a society separated by race. Specifically, southern legislatures passed
new segregation laws which were referred to as the Jim Crow laws. These laws were apparently
created to regulate social interactions between whites and blacks. In reality, the Jim Crow laws
made life very challenging for African Americans in the post Civil War South because these laws
intended to keep society segregated, reject the human and civil rights of African Americans, and
keep blacks at the bottom of the social hierarchy.
In the 1870s, white southerners implemented a racially segregated society across the South through
the creation of the Jim Crow laws. For instance, whites only and colored signs rapidly increased
throughout the American South as a constant reminder of the enforced racial order. These laws
affected almost every aspect of daily life, mandating segregation of schools, parks, libraries,

Malthus was an economic pessimist to those who disagreed with him and a realist to his followers.
He viewed poverty as something that was inevitable because, If the only check to population is
misery, the result of any improvement is ultimately to enable a larger population than before to
live in misery, so that resource improvement actually increases the sum of misery and that
betterment of the lot of mankind is impossible without stern limits on reproduction. This means
that there is overpopulation, and the natural check of misery (poverty) is coming into effect in
order to balance out overpopulation. However, by trying to help poverty, we are (according to

those poor people are better off and can do well. This situation would lead to a larger population
