favorite hobby is micro brewing beer. I have been producing craft beer for five years now. Half of
my two car garage is in reality, a kitchen with dozens of pots, pan, tanks, fermentation chambers and

The present work, therefore, was conducted to evaluate the role of glycine betaine in protecting the
proteins inleucerne plants through protease enzyme activity from being damaged by salt stress. On
the basis of our results we discuss the response of leucerne plants to salt stress and glycine betaine.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Purification of Protease The leucerne plant leaves are procured from 70 days old plants and
allowed to stand for two days in a humidity controlled dark growth chamber at 340C. The leaves
were homogenized with 0.1M phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) containing 0.4M sucrose and 0.05M
sodium ascorbate in a waring blender. Filtered homogenate was (I in Table 1) was squeezed
through a gauze and centrifuged at 2000 rpm for 20 mins. The supernatant (II in Table 1) was
adjusted to pH 5.0 by the addition of 1N acetic acid and allowed to stand overnight. The precipitate
was removed by centrifugation and the supernatant (III in Table 1) was subjected to ammonium
sulphate fractionation between 0.25 and 0.9 saturation. The ammonium sulphate precipitate was
suspended in 0.0025M Mc llvain buffer (pH 5.5) containing 2.5 Г— 10 3 M sodium ascorbate and
dialyzed against the same buffer at 40C for 20 hrs. The dialysate (IV in Table 1) was centrifuged
and the supernatant was fractionated by the addition of ethanol at 50C. A fraction precipitating
between 20 and 60% ethanol was collected and dialyzed in the same way.

In the short story A Worn Path, by Eudora Welty, Phoenix Jackson is a small old lady that is
overcoming the obstacles of life. She is figuring out that life has many different encounters to
overcome. Welty describes the physical and emotional encounters Jackson meets on her journey to
town and life. Welty describes how the character Jackson is a courageous woman that endures many
things through life, Welty also uses symbolism to show the true challenges that Jackson faces.
Welty uses symbols of nature numerous of times throughout the story.
First off, Phoenix Jackson is an old Negro woman, who faces the obstacles of life. She has troubles
on her path through town and life. She begins her path through the pinewoods. The path is like a
microcosm of a person s whole life. Sometimes things can be easy, and sometimes things can be
hard. Phoenix runs into obstacles which are harder than other. Life has many elements; some many
be dangerous, surprising, beautiful, and confusing. Phoenix Jackson faces some problems with her
memory. Up through pines, she said at length. Now down through the oaks. (Welty A Worn Path).
Through the story Welty uses the trees as a symbol of wisdom, strength, and endurance. The trees

The Emancipation of a Member of Congress
Our elected officials are sent to Washington to represent the people. In the case of the house they
are there to represent the people of a certain district. Senators are supposed to represent citizens
of a certain state. They currently have no limits on how long they can serve. There are many
faces in Congress that have been there for over 20 years. I intend to explain why having the
same people hold the same office is not healthy for the average American citizen. The original
intent of the Constitution was to limit government and the self serving interests that become
tyrannical by their very nature. The fact that the founders did not include limiting terms for
Congress appears to be a great oversight. The reason for this is simple. When a person was
chosen to serve during the time of the founders it was considered both and honor and a burden.
The founders overlooked term limits because at the time it was not an issue as it was not lucrative
to be a member of Congress. Through devious legislationCongress has turned these offices of
service into an institution that is above the very people it was designed to serve. It has become an
institution that seeks power and allows corruption.
When one considers that the approval rate of Congress at any given time is below 30%, it would
seem apparent that citizens are not happy with how they are represented. The question then
becomes Why are the same members of Congress elected if everyone is so unhappy with how they
