Analysis Of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
The Effects of Holding onto Crutches Of course you always had that detached quality as if you
were playing a game without much concern over whether you won or lost, and now that you ve
lost the game, not lost but just quit playing, you have that sort of charm that usually only
happens in very old or hopelessly sick people, the charm of the defeated (30). In this quote,
Maggie, a character in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, is expressing to her husband Brick how he
surrounds his life with a defeated aura. This defeated aura restricts him from overcoming his
struggles and blinds him from seeing the future. He holds onto to several crutches, in hopes that
his struggles will be pushed aside and he can escape reality. These crutches come in several
forms, but are essentially just excuses. People all over the world, such as the contestants on one
of America s most watched TV shows The Biggest Loser, hold onto crutches and find excuses for
not pursuing a future outcome. On the show, overweight contestants are trained to lose weight
and eat healthy in order to give their body a second chance. All contestants have a story behind
their weight gain, and every time it was because they could not let go of a crutch and chose to eat
their way out of hardships. Maggie s husband Brick does essentially the same, but with different
crutches and different methods of escape. So, through Tennessee Williams s play Cat on a Hot Tin
Roof, it can be proved that holding onto crutches hampers people from

Analysis on the Lion King on Broadway Essay
When I went to go see The Lion King on Broadway a few words came to mind after the play;
amazing, stunning, and unbelievable! I was a little unsure at first, because I thought I was too
young to see something from a Disney World production. I was also wondering how Disney was
going to manage putting a film starring non human characters, into a three dimensional stage.
However, using all their Disney magic with a little help from a great stage producer The Lion King
Musical kept my attention all the way through with their; voice and diction, staging, and many other
elements. Right from the beginning, wonderful costume and prop design showed through. The
opening sequence starred Rafiki, played by Tsidii Le Loka, singing Circle of... Show more content

That is a theater moment, and having never seen the show before it really did give me chills. The
rest of the first act moves briskly and features several other spectacular set pieces and musical
numbers, although the second act was prolonged. This production of The Lion King features an
incredibly talented cast, from the leads to the members of the chorus. You know you have a
fantastic ensemble when the singers in the aisle during the entrance have voices and personality to
match the lead actors. The dance crew also lives up to the challenging choreography. One of the
break out stars among the leads are Adam Jacobs as adult Simba, possessed of a bright, clear voice
and an inescapable presence from the second he swings on to the stage. J. Anthony Crane rivals
Jeremy Irons droll sarcasm as Scar, and his physicality makes the most of his outstanding costume;
as he shifts to and from his mask at Scar s most predatory moments. Dionne Randolph infuses
King Mufasa with his big, boastful voice and imposing presence, but is remarkably tender in his
moments with Young Simba. In addition, speaking of Young Simba, both of the young actors in
the performance I attended Dusan Brown as Simba and Madai Monica Williams as Young Nala are
amazingly talented actors, singers, and dancers with buckets of

Computer Is The Best Innovation
Computers is the best innovation, which be connected from various perspectives fields such as
mechanical, hardware, apply autonomy and so on. Machine helps individuals and make their life
simpler and their movement more beneficial, however there has showed up an issue of the machine
compulsion or reliance, particularly among the youngsters. Computers are advantageous gadgets
that a considerable lot of us utilize every day. Computers plays vital role of our lives, permitting us
to telecommute, stay in contact with each other, for example, funds, stocks and offers, and
worldwide news. Individuals can now hunt down practically everything without exception. There is
truly an entire universe of information readily available when we log on to the World Wide Web

few sites give free assets to understudies and experts. Be that as it may remember machines are not
secure. They crash. They get bugs. They can misconstrue words and provide for you an alternate
one than the one you needed. Character misrepresentation is not something you need either.
Organizations can spam your inbox. Programmers can take your cash. There are trackers and
infections that can log each key you write including passwords. Individual data can be spilled into
the obscure domain of the web. Furthermore individuals can get to be fixated. In any case, this is all
most likely down to the individual utilizing the machine. There is no mixing up that the web and

Over 12,000 UFO sightings have been recorded by Project Blue Book, according to History of

their bedroom during the night. When these things mystical things zoomed around the room, they

The ancient peoples would not have been able to move all of those tones and set them up in
complicated forms because they did not have advanced technologies to move them or to construct
temples (from the ones before the technology to build was invented). It has been hypothesized that
these extraterrestrials have come to planet Earth and inspired the early humans to explore. The
aliens would come down to Earth and gather in circles. That is why all over the world there are
circle shaped structures made of something that symbolizes power, such as a rock. Only the
extraterrestrials with their advanced technology would be able to lift the rocks and place them,
especially the ones that overlap each other. There even is proof that they actually have visited. In
the writing of the ancient people, it has been recorded that there is strange creatures that come from
the celestial bodies. This has been recorded in the history of several ancient peoples. They all seem
to be intertwined for they all similarly explain the same things: they gather in a circle and
communicate with the humans. In the end, they inspire them to create new technology and to
explore. As I have written before, they created temples and new structures of buildings, such as the
Washington Monument.
All in all, Earth has been visited by extraterrestrial life in ancient and modern times. There have
been abductees and many witnesses. Some has proven to be false, but there still remains that small
portion that is unidentified. We should keep in mind about Area 51, the mysterious U.S. military
installation that might have the answers to all of this. Who could set up the ton weighing
monoliths all over the world with no advanced technology? Is the government behind all this? Do
they have the answer? We can only

24 Oct. 2016
INTRODUCTION
Nursing documentation is important for continuity and quality of client care. It acts as legal
evidence and provides evidence for quality assurance and future care (Porter Perry, 2014). A
SOAP note consists of Subjective, objective, assessment and a plan for the client care. This paper
attempts to assess and document subjective and objective data for a case study involving a 46
years old male client brought to the urgent care with the complain of chest pain and identify three
nursing diagnosis and provide a plan for each diagnosis identified.
SUBJECTIVE DATA
Client complains of chest pain and shortness of breath (SOB). Client states that he was working
with heavy stones and has a sedentary office jobs and sedentary life styles. Client has a medical
history of asthma GERD. Client also complains of indigestion and has not eaten much today.
Beside this information, the nurse would ask the following questions to the client in order to
complete the client history which would help to make nursing diagnosis: Where exactly is the
pain? Does it radiate/ go anywhere? When did the pain start? Was the onset sudden or gradual?
What are you doing when it started? What does your pain feel like burning /stabbing/ aching
/ squeezing/ cramping/ sharp/ itching/ shooting/ crushing etc.? How severe is the pain,

Hydrogen Extraction Process For The Recovery Of Heavy Oil...
Abstract
Vapor extraction process for the recovery of heavy oil and bitumen was originally proposed by
Dr. Butler during 1989 1991. Since its evolution, vapor extraction has emerged as a very
effective and promising technique mainly due to its environment friendly nature and cost
effectiveness as compared to other recovery techniques. Vapex is basically an in situ recovery
process which injects a vaporized hydrocarbon solvent in the injection well to reduce the
viscosity the heavy oil and bitumen and allows it to drain out of the production well through
gravity drainage. Mass transfer of vaporized solvent to heavy oil and the gravity drainage are the
key parameters which mainly determine the production rate of heavy oil and bitumen with reduced
viscosity. This report provides a brief idea about the current heavy oil and bitumen deposits in
Canada, a better insight of the Vapex process and the factors which affect the efficiency of the
process. Several factors that scale up the performance of the process and important limitations are
also indentified that need further research for future growth of the process.
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
Energy is the most important factor for growth and development. Petroleum being the primary
source of energy can be categorized into conventional and non conventional forms based on the
viscosity and API gravity. Heavy oil and Bitumen are the non conventional forms of energy which
are often referred as oil sands or tar sands having high

Ben Bernanke s Policy Analysis
Ben Bernanke served as Chairman of the Federal Reserve from February 21st, 2006 until
January 31st, 2014. Before his appointment as Chair, he served as a Member of the Board of
Governors from August 5th, 2002 until June 21st, 2005. During his tenure at the Federal Reserve,
Bernanke had spearheaded policy changes to fight against the adverse economic events that were
affecting the US economy. Under his leadership, the Fed reduced interest rates to near zero levels
and bought trillions of dollars worth of securities. Where these the right moves to make? Prior to
Bernanke s appointment as Chair, the US economy was experiencing a boom in the housing
market. Interest rates were low and credit standards were lowered to capitalize on subprime

Diction And Imagery In Angela s Ashes
In describing his atrocious childhood, Frank McCourt writes, Two small sons starved to death. In
the novel, Angela s Ashes, McCourt portrays his life with an alcoholic father and depressed mother.
McCourt uses two of several writing techniques: diction and imagery, to show the hardships of
being Irish, Catholic, and poor.
Angela s Ashes is a moving and impassioned testimony of McCourt s life from childhood into early
adulthood. Frank McCourt s uncommon style of writing allows the reader to watch him develop as
an individual, let alone an author. The changes in his writing between ages of four, eleven and
fourteen can be competently distinguished. McCourt says, I m ashamed of me life... This one of
many examples showing his uneducated diction.

Stepping Into The Dance Studio
Stepping into the dance studio for my first ballet class, mirrored walls and a long bar, I
immediately immersed myself into becoming the ballerina from my fairytale books. After that
first year I laced up my shiny black tap shoes for my first tap class, a new love was born. That love
was replaced only when I learned to clog. All three styles of dancehave unique characteristics but all
three have much in common.
Dance has certain qualities such as poise, grace, and balance. The first years of dance are basic
and fundamental moves but these evolve over time and with hours of practicing. I also learned
responsibility, time management, determination, and a good work ethic. Whether it was landing a
specific move in ballet or nailing a double time step in clogging, there is always something to take
from each style of dance. Ballet is the core, the foundation, of all of these styles of dance, the
balance and strength learned in ballet are used in tap and clogging as well.
Ballet was the first style of dance that I learned. As soon as I was old enough to take at Alicia s
School of Performing Arts in Benson, North Carolina my mom quickly signed me up for ballet. I
did ballet for fourteen years, up until I graduated high school. Over those years I had three
different instructors, all who had their own style of teaching, helping me become a better ballerina.
My posture improved as well as my confidence. Ballet works to improve the core strength and
power and teaches you how to move

Functions And Complex Anatomy Of The Cardiovascular System
According to the Discovery Channel, the Cardiovascular System is the generator that drives the
bodily machine of humans (Discovery Channel, Your Cardiovascular System, 2016). Its multiple
functions and complex anatomy helps humans get through vital tasks (National Geographic, Heart,
1996). Such as, breathing, bloodcirculation, and food intake. In other words, the cardiovascular
system delivers and transports oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body, transports and
circulates blood throughout the body, distributes nutrients and food within the body and transports
waste products out of it (National Geographic, Heart, 1996). It also takes part in the circulation of
hormones (National Geographic, Heart, 1996). The cardiovascular... Show more content on

The heart is further composed of left and right atriums, arteries, veins, ventricles, valves, and
other main parts (National Geographic, Heart, 1996). Another part of the cardiovascular system
is blood. Blood is a bodily fluid that runs through the veins, arteries and capillaries to help the
cardiovascular system perform its job (National Geographic, Heart, 1996). On average, adults
have about 5 litres of blood. Blood is the stream in the human body that takes part in the
transportation of oxygen and nutrients, and filtering out waste products (The American Society
of Hematology, Blood Basics, 2016). Other functions of blood are protection of the human body
by forming blood clots to avoid blood loss, fighting of infection through cells and antibodies, and
the regulation of body temperature (The American Society of Hematology, Blood Basics,
2016). The blood is also composed of certain materials. The blood is made up of plasma, red
blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes), and platelets (The American Society of
Hematology, Blood Basics, 2016). The last main part of the cardiovascular system is blood
vessels. Blood vessels are tubes in the system that carries the blood (BBC, The Circulatory
System, 2014). The three types of blood vessels are arteries, veins and capillaries (BBC, The
Circulatory System, 2014). Arteries transport blood away from the heart (BBC, The Circulatory

Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games Essay
The second oldest form of literature after poetry is drama. Dramas have changed a lot over the
years. They use to plays that were wrote to be performed in the theater, and now they are mostly
written to be performed in a movie or a television show. There are many dramas today that most
people would not considered to be drama. Before reading the information in our text book, I
thought drama was basically just a story or movie between people who had problems with each
other; but that s not completely true. Dramas can basically be anything that has a hero or dialogue
to a certain extent. For this paper, I choose to write about the drama in the movie The Hunger

Essay on Picasso
Art represents beauty. It represents the soul and spirit of the artist. It s a form of communication
that the artist can use as a substitution for words. Art has flourished the world for thousands of
years and it has no intentions on stopping. One of quot;the most important figure s in modern art
quot; (Selfridge, 15) is a man by the name of Pablo Picasso. He has taken the world into many
places and has enabled us to see many abstract creations through his artwork alone. (Selfridge, 20)
Born on October 25, 1881, Picasso was a miracle right from the start. There were complications
with birth and everyone was surethat he wasn t going to make it, but then Picasso s uncle, Salvador
Ruiz, was able to make this tragedy a miracle. He... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

He was able to explore the streets, caf amp;eacute;s, and museums that Paris had to offer. An art

offered him a deal. He would pay him 150 francs every month for all of the work he had
completed in that time period. (Selfridge, 85) Although Picasso left back to Spain, he agreed and
they made arrangements to make an exchange every month. Picasso received word that a well
respected art dealer named Ambroise Vollard wanted to exhibit his work, so Picasso returned to
Paris for the occasion. (Selfridge, 88) The exhibit turned out to be very successful, and fifteen
pieces of Picasso s was purchased before the exhibit was opened. Picasso returned to Spain and
continued his work there. A good friend of his named Casagemos committed suicide, which
made Picasso very depressed. He showed his emotions through his work by painting mostly in
shades of blue. This is known as his blue period, where all his subjects dealt with poverty,
depression, and human struggle. (Westernbaker, 162) In 1905, Picasso met a woman named
Gertrude Stein and he immediately wanted to use her in his portraits. It took him about 90 sittings
and he still wasn t satisfied with the work he did of her, so he took a

CONVINCING CONSUMERS:
The main issue on Hybrid vehicles was that most of consumers did not believe it as a real car.
Overtime, Toyota succeeded to convince the automobile buyers that Toyota Priusis a real, usable
and efficient hybrid car.
DRIVING RESPONSIBILITY.
Toyota Prius has been equipped with a monitoring system which helps the driver to know how to
run his/her car to have a better function and reduce the fuel usage and save more energy. This helps
the driver to feel responsible on his/her driving and to maximize the car fuel efficiency.
LONG TERM PLAN BEFORE LAUNCHING THE PRODUCT:
Although Toyota invented this new hybrid vehicle more than ten years ago, it did not offer the car
to the USA consumers immediately. The main reason was that Toyota was aware of the new
technology challenges. While Toyota was on the market research and new product development,
other companies were focusing on merger and acquisition. Brand recognition, technology changes
and improvement take several years to finish and Toyota wanted to launch a product which has
cleared all the possible obstacles such as space, efficiency, speed, safety, weight which can meet all
consumers expectations.
MAINTAINS ITS COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES OVER COMPETITORS
The introduction of Toyota Prius was not just a short term goal. Toyota had much broader goals.

Environmental Assessment Of The Alberta Tar Sands
What is environmental stewardship, and why is it so important? Well, environmental stewardship
is being responsible, with the way we treat the environment. It is important, because if we destroy
our environment, we end up destroying that which provides for us, and ultimately our means of
survival. We are going to talk about the Albertatar sands development, and about how they are not
effectively protecting their environment. This has already led to negative effects in the surrounding
areas. These effects will only continue to worsen, if nothing is done to slow down, or further

It brought with it deforestation, and large amounts of pollution, which have had a large impact on
their small community.
This has led to the water supply becoming tainted with arsenic, and other toxic chemicals, which has
mutated the fish. It has also led to an increased number of cancer, and brain tumor patients in the
town of Fort Chipewyan, due to their exposure to these toxins. The Alberta government claims that
the tar sands development leaves the Athabasca Lake unaffected, but I don t believe that for a
minute. They say that any contamination found in the river comes from natural bitumen seeps. It is
very obvious from the number of cancer patients in Fort Chipewyan, and the deformed fish from
the lake that the tar sands is the cause. I believe that the tailings ponds used by the tar sands are
not properly lined, and that is leading to their toxic contents contaminating the river. The Dene land
was taken by the government for the development of the tar sands, without their consent. As such,
the law states that the Dene have the right to hunt, and fish, on that land. The main reason that
they hunt, and fish is for subsistence, as it is a traditional part of their way of life. Sadly, it will
be no point in hunting, and fishing because the prey will be far too dangerous to eat, due to its
exposure to toxic chemicals from the tar sands.

Visual Impairment Nursing
Introduction Visual impairment is a common and debilitating symptom of multiple sclerosis (MS).
Acute optic neuritis (AON) occurs in over 50% of patients and subclinical optic nerve injury is
frequent even in the absence of optic neuritis (Arnold, 2005). Double vision and oscillopsia from
efferent disorders may also significantly impact vision related quality of life. Despite the prevalence
of visual deficits, it has only been over the last decade that MS clinical trials have begun to
regularly include visual outcomes [57]. This trend has been supported by the implementation of
highly sensitive tools with the ability to detect structural and functional visual deficits in patients
with MS. Among structural instruments, optical coherence tomography... Show more content on

VEP amplitude is a measure of the number of actionable fibers relaying information to the visual
cortex. Reductions in amplitude can be transient or the result of axonal loss following AON [ , ].
In addition to measures of amplitude, VEP measures latency, which is a reflection of visual
pathway myelin, a measure that uniquely highlights demyelination and remyelination [54, ]. Multi
focal VEP measures multiple, focal VEPs to create a topographic record of optic nerve amplitude

VEP latency and EDSS score for both AON and non AON MS patients, suggesting VEP tests to be
more sensitive measures of detecting disease evolution than MRI [ ]. In the context of MS, mfERG,
another instrument used to expand knowledge of the summed responses of the visual field,
provides highly stereotyped information about the optic nerve head component, which is thought to
reflect axonal properties of the GCL [44, ]. Continued study and validation of these tests as they
relate to function are necessary and will allow us to further refine our understanding of the visual

Booker s Influence On Jesus
UNLIKE THE TWELVE, he never left Jerusalem. History says he was appointed as overseer
there by the apostles. Not only did he not leave Jerusalem, but surely he was the most Jewish of
the apostles. (James is called an apostle in Scripture e.g., Gal. 1:19 but he was not one of the
twelve.)
While he acknowledged that the Gentiles did not need to keep the Law, he was always the one
most on the side of the Law. Peter refused to eat with Gentiles out of fear of James (Gal. 2:11 12),
and James asked Paul to buy the sacrifices for men about to take a Nazirite vow (and Paul
complied Acts 21:18 26). James remained the leader of the Jerusalem church until his death around
A.D. 69. There is no indication that he followed Jesus at all during Jesus earthly lifetime. After the
resurrection, however, he is one of the leading figures in the church. What an eccentric character

After all, it would be hard for any of us to be convinced that our big brother is the creator of the

After a while, James influence became so strong that even some of the rulers believed, which
horrified the scribes and Pharisees. They became afraid that soon the people would be flocking to
Jesus as the Christ.
Somehow, perhaps because of his strict observance of the Law, the Pharisees thought they could
get James to discourage the people from believing. They asked him to stand at the pinnacle of the
temple on Passover and speak and sure enough James agreed. They brought him to the top of the
temple, and they shouted to him from below:

Constantine s Use Of Constantinople As A Site Of Byzantium
Constantinople was a city strategically built both on the outside and inside. Constantine founded
Constantinople on the remains of Byzantium for economic and military reasons, which were
excellently seen through in the city. With the benefits of those actions, Constantine developed a
rich and religious community for his citizens. The site of Byzantium was located on a peninsula
and therefore had innate advantages with trade and protection. Being surrounded by water meant
trade across the Black Sea from the front and two ports on the sides. This led to economic
diversity and prosperity. The water also served as a means of protection, as invaders were not
likely to attack via fleet. With danger primarily coming from one side of the city, a

city of Agawam, Massachusetts, and has been running since 1870. During this time, it was
originally an ordinary picnic with a cluster of trees named Gallup s Grove. Subsequently, the park
replaced its name with Riverside, and has had its name of Riverside for the majority of the entire
period of the 1900s. One famous event, known as The 1929 Wall Street Crash, then had an
unfortunate effect on the amusement park, and as a result, the amusement park shut down in 1939
after countless efforts to reestablish the amusement park. After the Wall Street Crash, Edward
Carroll Senior made history when made an investment and paid for the amusement park, and
developed the amusement park into a notable success in New England. After a century of the
amusement park being known as Riverside, it then changed its name to Six FlagsNew England in
2000. This amusement park has various rides with a maximum amount of thrill which have
customers at the edge of their seats, less thrilling rides which are excellent for just sitting back and
enjoying themselves without all the maximized thrill, eating, entertainment, and shopping for
relaxing from all the exciting rides and taking it easy, and Hurricane Harbor to cool you off in the
summer and Fright Fest to terrorize and startle you during Halloween.

Minor Characters Impact on Willy Loman in Arthur Miller s play, Death of a Salesman
In the Arthur Miller play Death of a Salesman, Willy Loman comes in contact with several
characters, many of whom prompt him to examine his past as well as his conscience. Charley s
son Bernard is such a character. Lacking dimension and depth of character, Bernard functions
primarily as a foil to expose Willy s tragic and pathetic nature.
The other characters have no real interaction with Willy that would allow for development. During
Willy s first flashback, Bernard appears only to remind Biff of the Regents exam. Willy refers to
Bernard as a pest and an anemic, and Biff mimics his father by saying that Bernard is liked, but not
well liked. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Willy s predictions regarding Bernard are proven wrong later in the play. Bernard is successful;
he is a respected lawyer preparing to argue a case before the Supreme Court. In the stage
directions, Arthur Miller describes Bernard as a quiet, earnest, but self assured young man.
When Willy meets him in Charley s office, Bernard is reserved and polite. Aware of the success
that Bernard has obtained, Willy shows repect for him by calling him a brilliant man. While he
may be happy for Bernard s well being, Willy can t help but be reminded of his son s failures. He
even asks of Charley how it is that Bernard has accomplished such feats in spite of Charley s lack
of interest. Charley hints that his son thrives because of this neglect.
If Bernard s characterization is flat, then it can be reasoned that his creation is for a singular
purpose. Bernard is the symbol of success, which makes Willy s life all the more tragic for
failing to recognize this. Because Bernard s actions are mainly directed towards Willy, Bernard
can also be considered an extension of Willy s conscience. For example, when the two are in
Charley s office speculating as to why Biff didn t finish school, Bernard mentions that Biff lost his
initiative after he came back from Boston. This causes Willy to become angry and later to recall
that night when his son discovered the affair. Here, Bernard acts as a catalyst, causing Willy to

Support for High Definition IP Cameras DeVry University NETW206: Introduction to Switching
Submitted to: Professor: Date: Current date As per the requirement, we are going to use the
Cisco 4300 Video Surveillance model camera in here. So we have to have a good reliable
switching architecture for getting the maximum throughput from these cameras. Otherwise they
are acting as just ordinary video camera. When we are speaking about the switching architecture
of this project, first of all we have to fulfill some major requirements. They are, 1. Must comply

In here we have redundant connectivity to the access layer. That means Cisco SGE2010P 48 Port
Gigabit Switches in access layer can work without any downtimes. Also we can create VLANS as
required in here to increase the bandwidth. I think this is a good solution for here because these
cameras create HD media and it requires high bandwidth to transfer data. So we can eliminate this
problem by implementing VLANs here. By implementing VLANs, It creates collision domains in
the network. Another thing about this switch is, it has 4 fiber optic ports rather than the 48 Gigabit
Ethernet ports. By these 04 ports we can create hi speed uplinks. Also this has 48 ports. That means
rack space also can save. References http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Video

Ethical Dilemma Of The Oil Spill
Ethical Dilemma British petroleum has experienced a series of oil spill accidents since it was
established, however, the 2010 oil spill was considered the worst oil spill accident in the
company s history. The drilling rig in the Deepwater Horizon exploded and killed 11 workers and
released thousands of barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico (Arnold McKay 16). The accident
affected different states along the coastline including Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama and
Louisiana. In addition, the oil spillaffected the wild life as it killed birds, fish and destroyed nearby
ecosystems and economies including tourism and fishing. Several factors contributed to the oil

The organizational culture of arrogance, noncompliance and risk taking contributed to the
accident. The company did not consider corporate social responsibility important and hence it
did not drill the oil in a sustainable way to protect the stakeholders and the environment. Instead,
the company considered profit making a priority instead of the safety of the stakeholders and the
public (Arnold McKay 20). Whistle blowers were laid off and intimidated if they exposed the
company s unethical activities. As a result, the company undertook many projects and it was
focused on working on the frontiers and managing the risk. Besides, the organization protected
itself from stakeholder who questioned the firm s decision to take the risks. The executive
managers did not entertain opposing views. In addition to that, failure to put in place safety
measures and risk management policies contributed to the accident. The OSHA identified flaws in
the company s regulations after the explosion at the Texas oil refinery, but the firm did not
address the issues. Instead, the organization continued to take risks and cut costs and violated the
United States law in order to reduce the costs of producing oil. De Maria identified different
strategies that the company should implement to address the issue and prevent future crises. De
Maria believed the organization should be victim focused and accept the responsibility for the oil
spill. BP accepted the responsibility for the oil spill

Mary Oliver Twist Essay
Introduction
Prostitution looms large in the Victorian consciousness. The image of the fallen woman reflects the
Victorian upper classes ideas about sexuality, gender and class. The prostitute is a staple of 19th
century fiction. Debate about prostitution is also a reflection of cultural anxiety about urbanization.
Victorian ideas about fallenness create the ideological assumptions behind the creation of the
Contagious Diseases Acts. Through the control of sexuality, the Acts reinforced existing patterns of
class and gender domination. They reflected an acceptance of male sexual license. The double
standard allowed male access to fallen women and punished only the women.
Fallenness as Literary Motif
In Oliver Twist, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cultural beliefs about the fallen woman necessitated that she be victim of a sacrificial death. While
her death may have seemed shocking to us, there is no other way that Dickens could have told her
story. Nancy is lost beyond redemption and although she had a heart of gold, her fallenness
necessitates her death. To have redeemed her would have justified prostitution, or at least
acknowledged the fact that it could be a temporary state, and not the road to ruin and a horrible and
lonely death.
Oliver s mother is also a fallen woman who meets a sacrificial death although her heart is
apparently good. Her entire family is also consequently ruined. This reads as particularly tragic
since she was not seduced by a rake, but by someone who intended to marry her. No matter; she
also had to be sacrificed to fallenness, along with her entire family. It is a cautionary tale.
There are two examples of fallenness in Mary Barton. One is Mary Barton herself, who is
seduced by dreams of improving her social status via the upper class Carson. Her lust for wealth
leaves her at the mercy of this rake, who has no intention of marrying her anyway.
The true fallen woman is Mary s aunt Esther. She is destined for the street by her love of clothing,
finery, and her class aspirations. When John Barton encounters her on the street again she is the
epitome of the streetwalker, bereft of dignity, morality, and the possibility of salvation.
Both Oliver Twist an Mary Barton

Also offenders aged fifteen and younger at the time of their crimes was unconstitutional (

United States numbers of death sentences are steadily declining from 300 in 1998 to 106 in 2009 (

Herpes Simplex 1 Symptoms Natural Treatment
There is a old misconception Herpes Simplex 1 only infects above the belt by manifesting as cold
sores. Herpes Type 2 was previously considered below the belt and caused genital lesions.
However, the medical profession has found oral genital contact can spread either, so that types of
herpes have become virtually insignificant.
Let s define herpes. It is very contagious. It is transmitted by bodily fluids. Proper hand washing
precautions should be taken to keep the virus from a cold sore from spreading to the genitals. The
first time herpes symptoms appear is called the primary occurrence and it worse than recurring
outbreaks.
Symptoms generally occur within 4 7 days after contact. Initial symptoms are burning, chronic itch
or tingling. In a couple of days, pimply sores pop up on reddish skin. Later, the pimples
metamorphose into agonizing blisters.
When the blisters burst, they secrete blood and yellowish pus. Approximately a week after the first
symptoms, scabs form, which signals healing has begun.
While it is rare, it is possible for Herpes to spread to the eyes. This requires the speedy attention of a
medical professional.
A person can be infected and not know it. Symptoms may not show for some time following
contact, yet the person can still be contagious. This is because viral shedding occurs during the
tingling stage.
Of course, people who have active lesions shed the virus and are contagious.

Remember The Titans Analysis
In the film Remember the Titans directed by Boaz Yakin, the main characters of the Titans are
introduced as a group to us in a scene shot in the gymnasium. This scene is when the team first
meets the other prospective team members and develop their relationships with each other. Yakin
uses this scene to show tension and intimidation between the two separate teams, especially
focusing in on the two coaches (Boone and Yoast) while giving the audience an idea of where their
relationship stands. He uses four techniques to create this; blocking, sound effects, camera angles
and dialogue to do this
Yakin uses a variety of minor techniques in this excerpt to provide the viewer with a greater
understanding of the greater technique theme (racism and discrimination) running throughout the
film. Firstly, Yakin has used the facial expressions of the players and coaches to give the audience
the impression of dislike and discomfort, this is shown especially at the very end of the excerpt,
this is when the two coaches meet eye to eye in a confrontation by their teams. The facial
expressions create an atmosphere of disapproval to the audience which aids the setup of the greater
theme throughout the film. Secondly the technique of blocking (where the director has chosen the
actors to stand) is used to give an impression of a standoff/confrontation. An example of this would
be when the white team strides in and places themselves standing opposite the black team. This is
important regarding

pGLO Transformation: A Look into Our Future with DNA and Genetics
Abstract
This lab investigated the central dogma of molecular biology by studying the expression of
jellyfish Green Fluorescent Protein in E. coli (Mardigan, 2011). After transforming E. coli with the
GFP gene under the arabinose operon promoter, GFP expression was analyzed with and without
arabinose. Induction was seen only in media with arabinose. To further study GFP protein and
structure, an SDS Page or gel electrophoresis was conducted where proteins were charged to
allow them to move in an electrical field in terms of their size. To further study the role of the
arabinose operon in GFP expression an overnight culture was done where the plate was frozen and
incubated to induce optimal protein folding. The GFP was then purified. Centrifugation, use of
buffers, and a column was used to separate the GFP and bacterial cells.

coli the bacteria that will be used to house the GFP is the competent cell. They are called
competent cells because they are able to accept foreign DNA or plasmids. They are first observed
in 1928 by Frederick Griffith where he proposed that bacteria are capable transferring genetic
information (Havarstein, 2010). These cells such as E. coli are normally made competent by
exposure to a rich calcium environment, where the mixture calcium chloride will be used in.
Calcium chloride s positive charges will cancel out the negative charge of the plasmid and E. coli
s cell wall weakening it, making it easy to pass.
By subjecting these bacteria through sudden temperature changes or heat shock, a difference in
pressure in the outside and the inside of the cell is made, that causes pores, through which the
mobile supercoiled plasmid enters. After normalizing the cell temperature, its walls will heal.
When the E. coli has now taken up the plasmid with GFP, it will be able to grow in agar plates

Hunger thirst fear transport selection fire chimney: these words all have intrinsic meaning, but in
those times, they meant something else. (Wiesel 2006, p.XII). Night is a novel and an
autobiography written by Elie Wiesel in 2006. In this book, Wiesel shares his four years of
Horrifying experience at the concentration camps. The main purpose of writing this book is to
show the audience how exactly the day to day life of the Jews were at the concentration camps.
Two of the main points of this book are Relation and Faith. Wiesel has a good bond with his
father that he doesn t lose no matter what circumstances they both went under. Through out the
entire book, Wiesel shows his faith in god to the audience. There were times where he doubts in
god and almost loses faith in him and humanity but then he continues to have faith in him. The
author Elie Wiesel is a Noble prize winner and a teacher born on September 19, 1928 in Sighet,
Transylvania. Wiesel wanted to study religion because of his religious background but
unfortunately that could not happen because he was sent to the concentration camps at the age of
twelve. I chose this book because it was something that I chose it in high school to write a paper
on but I could not do it because it did not meet the requirements of the professors of my sophomore
and junior year. The Author uses his Point of View, Symbolism and Foreshadowing in this Novel.

Discrimination And Its Effects On Today s Society
A majority of people in America conjecture that because slavery has been overcome, complete
equality has been reached in the United States. What they fail to recognize are the hardships
faced by minorities in today s society every day, yet discrimination is a persistent factor. The
negative stigma placed on people of color first formed by the harsh language used present during
slavery in the cases of Dred Scott v. Sandford(1857) and Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) assisting in the
mortality gap between blacks and whites . However, what we neglect to recall are the stark reasons

indicating slaves as less than a person. This proves the mindset that Caucasians concluded

majority enjoyed. Identically, just as equivalent as the case Dred Scott v. Sandford, Plessy v.
Ferguson harnesses the language of entitlement. The case paints the picture of a mulatto man,
Plessy, obstinate to sit in the white coach. The plaintiff claims, Upon the other hand, if he be a

is not lawfully entitled to the reputation of a white man, (Plessy v. Ferguson, 2014, pg. 549). In
other words, because Plessy occupies a contrasting skin color, he cannot be human; as a result,
anyone from African descent was denoted as a purchase. Consequently, if he had light skin, he
could rightfully sit in the coach for the white man is a divine product produced by God. The
mindset at that time period suggests people of color were produced by God to serve for them.

Romanticism Nineteenth Century Imperialism
The nineteenth century was a time of sudden change and disruption of politics and social changes
within modern Europe. Holding to traditional attitudes and values of the past gave way to new
ideas of equality and socialism which disputed the traditions of European society. Through
important political leaders and philosophers liberalism, nationalism, and socialism created a time
bomb throughout Europe in the mid 1800s, resulting in massive revolutions. Within a century, class
struggles grew even more defined, which led to the revolutionary ism such as Romanticism,

The Enlightenment period was when philosophers valued logic, reason, and rationality. This type of

Women Are Valued Differently From Men in Irish Society Essay
Women Are Valued Differently From Men in Irish Society I myself have never been able to find
out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express
sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute
Rebecca West, 1913.
This quote, spoken almost a century ago, is still relevant in the Ireland of the new Millennium
and even the roaring of the Celtic Tiger cannot drown it out. Women can vote, can serve as jurors,
judges, TD s or Taoiseach. Equal pay is protected under legislation. We have certain rights to
maternity leave. We have equal access to education, we can study honours maths and physics at
school, we can become engineers and are encouraged to take FAS courses in ... Show more content

In hard cash terms, men earn on average, ВЈ1.83 more per hour than women do.
Women s work is still seen as that of love labour , that of working in the home raising a family
and taking care of the housework without pay. Men on the other hand are seen as the
breadwinners, their work is paid labour. Their job is to go out into paid employment and provide
for their family.
There are two knock on effects of women staying a home minding the family. Firstly they are not
financially independent. They do not earn any money and are dependent on income received from
their partners. Because nobody gets paid for rearing a family it s status as an occupation is at the
bottom of the ladder and because women are dependant financially for money on their husband it
means they in the past have had less input into the decisions affecting the family resulting in no
input into the decisions affecting society. A womans place was in the home. A second effect of
women s position in the family is that they are often isolated from each other and from society in
general. Unlike a worker they have little opportunity of meeting, sharing experiences, they on their
own have little power to change the conditions they find themselves in.
The family is a trap for women today as much as for women at the beginning of the industrial
revolution. As mentioned above, women are paid on average 2/3 of the wage that men are paid, so
within any partnership it obviously makes more

Petrarch s The Ascent Of Mont Ventoux
While reading Petrarch The Ascent of Mont Ventoux I noticed that it had some similarities to Dante
s Purgatory that were more hidden. The fact that they are both climbing a mountain trying to
accomplish something is one thing but it also is very deep with meaning. In Mont Ventoux Petrarch
is climbing the mountain for the view of it, while Dante is climbing it to reach Heaven, they both
religious men and in their journey they change a bit themselves. Dante is cleansing himself of sins
each time he moves up a stage in Purgatory and it s one step closer to reaching Paradiso. On the
other hand Petrarch is not yet a changed man until he reaches the top. Along the way up the
mountain he tries to find a shortcut instead of the harder and longer... Show more content on

I just don t think it s a shame to want things. I also don t exactly agree on the statement of how
we must look at our sins inside our soul without the grace of God. I agree we need God s grace
for the right to Heaven but I don t agree that we have to get rid of our worldly desires in order for
us to reach Heaven. I understand the Petrarch was a Christian but he obviously had a more
influence for having Catholic views and thoughts. Going back to the question Professor Hepola
examined, is he right, the soul is the greatest thing and not just on my sins, but me? I say the
greatest thing is faith and the grace of God, not the soul. Without God we wouldn t be here with
a soul or even having sin because God created Adam and Eve. Without His grace we cannot
become what we need to be, our essence and our telos is to be holy for Him. Just like Dante did
when we was climbing to the top of Purgatory, he had to be cleansed of his sins and when he
reached the top he was a man that was devoted to worshipping God and was sin free. Yes, the soul
has to be purified and washed before entering Heaven but it is not the greatest thing for

Comparing Ebola And West Nile Virus
Ebola West Nile
Ebola Virus Disease is a deadly disease mostly affecting humans and primates. West Nile Virus is
spread between humans, commonly through mosquito bites. Ebola and West Nile Virus are both
potentially fatal infectious diseases that are often successful at evading our bodies immune
response and have impacted many lives.
Ebola and West Nile virushave negative effects on human health. Both Ebola and West Nile virus
ara capable of disabling protein receptors within cells. This allows the pathogen to continue to
spread through the body, therefore evading the immune system. Ebola causes flu like symptoms,
including fever, headaches, muscle pain, fatigue, diarrhea, vomiting, and even unexplained
hemorrhaging. These symptoms may appear anywhere from 2 to 21 days after exposure. Survival
rate is dependant on the person s immune system due to the lack of a specific treatment.
Symptoms are typically treated as they appear. West Nile virus, however, is different. Most people
infected do not experience symptoms, while a small amount (1 in 5) will experience symptoms
similar to Ebola. About 1 in 150 people will experience severe symptoms such as high fever,
disorientation, coma, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ebola is transmitted through bodily fluids. This includes items that have had contact with infected
fluids, such as needles or syringes. The bodily fluid must enter the body through the bloodstream,
including open wounds or the membrane in the eyes nose or mouth. The spread can be prevented
through heavy precautions including staying in a hospital and using disposable equipment. West
Nile Virus is common in birds, but humans become infected through mosquitoes that bite the
infected birds. This means that West Nile does not spread as easily, however it may spread a
farther distance due to being carried by birds and mosquitoes. Ebola is transmitted easier (person
to person) but does not have a way to travel a far

  • 2. Analysis Of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof The Effects of Holding onto Crutches Of course you always had that detached quality as if you were playing a game without much concern over whether you won or lost, and now that you ve lost the game, not lost but just quit playing, you have that sort of charm that usually only happens in very old or hopelessly sick people, the charm of the defeated (30). In this quote, Maggie, a character in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, is expressing to her husband Brick how he surrounds his life with a defeated aura. This defeated aura restricts him from overcoming his struggles and blinds him from seeing the future. He holds onto to several crutches, in hopes that his struggles will be pushed aside and he can escape reality. These crutches come in several forms, but are essentially just excuses. People all over the world, such as the contestants on one of America s most watched TV shows The Biggest Loser, hold onto crutches and find excuses for not pursuing a future outcome. On the show, overweight contestants are trained to lose weight and eat healthy in order to give their body a second chance. All contestants have a story behind their weight gain, and every time it was because they could not let go of a crutch and chose to eat their way out of hardships. Maggie s husband Brick does essentially the same, but with different crutches and different methods of escape. So, through Tennessee Williams s play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, it can be proved that holding onto crutches hampers people from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The ancient peoples would not have been able to move all of those tones and set them up in complicated forms because they did not have advanced technologies to move them or to construct temples (from the ones before the technology to build was invented). It has been hypothesized that these extraterrestrials have come to planet Earth and inspired the early humans to explore. The aliens would come down to Earth and gather in circles. That is why all over the world there are circle shaped structures made of something that symbolizes power, such as a rock. Only the extraterrestrials with their advanced technology would be able to lift the rocks and place them, especially the ones that overlap each other. • 8. Hydrogen Extraction Process For The Recovery Of Heavy Oil... Abstract Vapor extraction process for the recovery of heavy oil and bitumen was originally proposed by Dr. Butler during 1989 1991. Since its evolution, vapor extraction has emerged as a very effective and promising technique mainly due to its environment friendly nature and cost effectiveness as compared to other recovery techniques. Vapex is basically an in situ recovery process which injects a vaporized hydrocarbon solvent in the injection well to reduce the viscosity the heavy oil and bitumen and allows it to drain out of the production well through gravity drainage. Mass transfer of vaporized solvent to heavy oil and the gravity drainage are the key parameters which mainly determine the production rate of heavy oil and bitumen with reduced viscosity. This report provides a brief idea about the current heavy oil and bitumen deposits in Canada, a better insight of the Vapex process and the factors which affect the efficiency of the process. Several factors that scale up the performance of the process and important limitations are also indentified that need further research for future growth of the process. INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND Energy is the most important factor for growth and development. After that first year I laced up my shiny black tap shoes for my first tap class, a new love was born. That love was replaced only when I learned to clog. All three styles of dancehave unique characteristics but all three have much in common. Dance has certain qualities such as poise, grace, and balance. The first years of dance are basic and fundamental moves but these evolve over time and with hours of practicing. I also learned responsibility, time management, determination, and a good work ethic. Whether it was landing a specific move in ballet or nailing a double time step in clogging, there is always something to take from each style of dance. Ballet is the core, the foundation, of all of these styles of dance, the balance and strength learned in ballet are used in tap and clogging as well. Ballet was the first style of dance that I learned. As soon as I was old enough to take at Alicia s School of Performing Arts in Benson, North Carolina my mom quickly signed me up for ballet. I did ballet for fourteen years, up until I graduated high school. Over those years I had three different instructors, all who had their own style of teaching, helping me become a better ballerina. Minor Characters Impact on Willy Loman in Arthur Miller s play, Death of a Salesman In the Arthur Miller play Death of a Salesman, Willy Loman comes in contact with several characters, many of whom prompt him to examine his past as well as his conscience. Charley s son Bernard is such a character. Lacking dimension and depth of character, Bernard functions primarily as a foil to expose Willy s tragic and pathetic nature. The other characters have no real interaction with Willy that would allow for development. During Willy s first flashback, Bernard appears only to remind Biff of the Regents exam. Willy refers to Bernard as a pest and an anemic, and Biff mimics his father by saying that Bernard is liked, but not well liked. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Willy s predictions regarding Bernard are proven wrong later in the play. Bernard is successful; he is a respected lawyer preparing to argue a case before the Supreme Court. In the stage directions, Arthur Miller describes Bernard as a quiet, earnest, but self assured young man. When Willy meets him in Charley s office, Bernard is reserved and polite. Aware of the success that Bernard has obtained, Willy shows repect for him by calling him a brilliant man. While he may be happy for Bernard s well being, Willy can t help but be reminded of his son s failures. He even asks of Charley how it is that Bernard has accomplished such feats in spite of Charley s lack of interest. Charley hints that his son thrives because of this neglect. If Bernard s characterization is flat, then it can be reasoned that his creation is for a singular purpose. Bernard is the symbol of success, which makes Willy s life all the more tragic for failing to recognize this. Because Bernard s actions are mainly directed towards Willy, Bernard can also be considered an extension of Willy s conscience. For example, when the two are in Charley s office speculating as to why Biff didn t finish school, Bernard mentions that Biff lost his initiative after he came back from Boston. This causes Willy to become angry and later to recall that night when his son discovered the affair. Here, Bernard acts as a catalyst, causing Willy to realize the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When we are speaking about the switching architecture of this project, first of all we have to fulfill some major requirements. They are, 1. Must comply with the Cisco hierarchical design model; 2. In here we have redundant connectivity to the access layer. That means Cisco SGE2010P 48 Port Gigabit Switches in access layer can work without any downtimes. Also we can create VLANS as required in here to increase the bandwidth. I think this is a good solution for here because these cameras create HD media and it requires high bandwidth to transfer data. So we can eliminate this problem by implementing VLANs here. By implementing VLANs, It creates collision domains in the network. Another thing about this switch is, it has 4 fiber optic ports rather than the 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports. By these 04 ports we can create hi speed uplinks. Also this has 48 ports. That means rack space also can save. Whistle blowers were laid off and intimidated if they exposed the company s unethical activities. Besides, the organization protected itself from stakeholder who questioned the firm s decision to take the risks. The executive managers did not entertain opposing views. The OSHA identified flaws in the company s regulations after the explosion at the Texas oil refinery, but the firm did not address the issues. Instead, the organization continued to take risks and cut costs and violated the United States law in order to reduce the costs of producing oil. The image of the fallen woman reflects the Victorian upper classes ideas about sexuality, gender and class. The prostitute is a staple of 19th century fiction. Debate about prostitution is also a reflection of cultural anxiety about urbanization. Victorian ideas about fallenness create the ideological assumptions behind the creation of the Contagious Diseases Acts. Through the control of sexuality, the Acts reinforced existing patterns of class and gender domination. They reflected an acceptance of male sexual license. The double standard allowed male access to fallen women and punished only the women. Fallenness as Literary Motif In Oliver Twist, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cultural beliefs about the fallen woman necessitated that she be victim of a sacrificial death. While her death may have seemed shocking to us, there is no other way that Dickens could have told her story. Nancy is lost beyond redemption and although she had a heart of gold, her fallenness necessitates her death. To have redeemed her would have justified prostitution, or at least acknowledged the fact that it could be a temporary state, and not the road to ruin and a horrible and lonely death. Oliver s mother is also a fallen woman who meets a sacrificial death although her heart is apparently good. Her entire family is also consequently ruined. This reads as particularly tragic since she was not seduced by a rake, but by someone who intended to marry her. No matter; she also had to be sacrificed to fallenness, along with her entire family. It is a cautionary tale. There are two examples of fallenness in Mary Barton. One is Mary Barton herself, who is seduced by dreams of improving her social status via the upper class Carson. Her lust for wealth leaves her at the mercy of this rake, who has no intention of marrying her anyway. The true fallen woman is Mary s aunt Esther. She is destined for the street by her love of clothing, finery, and her class aspirations. When John Barton encounters her on the street again she is the epitome of the streetwalker, bereft of dignity, morality, and the possibility of salvation. Both Oliver Twist an Mary Barton ... Herpes Type 2 was previously considered below the belt and caused genital lesions. However, the medical profession has found oral genital contact can spread either, so that types of herpes have become virtually insignificant. Let s define herpes. It is very contagious. It is transmitted by bodily fluids. Proper hand washing precautions should be taken to keep the virus from a cold sore from spreading to the genitals. The first time herpes symptoms appear is called the primary occurrence and it worse than recurring outbreaks. Symptoms generally occur within 4 7 days after contact. Initial symptoms are burning, chronic itch or tingling. In a couple of days, pimply sores pop up on reddish skin. Later, the pimples metamorphose into agonizing blisters. When the blisters burst, they secrete blood and yellowish pus. Approximately a week after the first symptoms, scabs form, which signals healing has begun. While it is rare, it is possible for Herpes to spread to the eyes. This requires the speedy attention of a medical professional. A person can be infected and not know it. Symptoms may not show for some time following contact, yet the person can still be contagious. This is because viral shedding occurs during the tingling stage. This scene is when the team first meets the other prospective team members and develop their relationships with each other. Yakin uses this scene to show tension and intimidation between the two separate teams, especially focusing in on the two coaches (Boone and Yoast) while giving the audience an idea of where their relationship stands. He uses four techniques to create this; blocking, sound effects, camera angles and dialogue to do this Yakin uses a variety of minor techniques in this excerpt to provide the viewer with a greater understanding of the greater technique theme (racism and discrimination) running throughout the film. Firstly, Yakin has used the facial expressions of the players and coaches to give the audience the impression of dislike and discomfort, this is shown especially at the very end of the excerpt, this is when the two coaches meet eye to eye in a confrontation by their teams. The facial expressions create an atmosphere of disapproval to the audience which aids the setup of the greater theme throughout the film. Secondly the technique of blocking (where the director has chosen the actors to stand) is used to give an impression of a standoff/confrontation. After transforming E. coli with the GFP gene under the arabinose operon promoter, GFP expression was analyzed with and without arabinose. Induction was seen only in media with arabinose. To further study GFP protein and structure, an SDS Page or gel electrophoresis was conducted where proteins were charged to allow them to move in an electrical field in terms of their size. To further study the role of the arabinose operon in GFP expression an overnight culture was done where the plate was frozen and incubated to induce optimal protein folding. These cells such as E. coli are normally made competent by exposure to a rich calcium environment, where the mixture calcium chloride will be used in. Calcium chloride s positive charges will cancel out the negative charge of the plasmid and E. coli s cell wall weakening it, making it easy to pass. By subjecting these bacteria through sudden temperature changes or heat shock, a difference in pressure in the outside and the inside of the cell is made, that causes pores, through which the mobile supercoiled plasmid enters.
