Abstract
Electrochemical behavior and hydrogen evolution reaction of mild steel in sulfuric
acid solutions, containing different concentrations of gamma Aminobutyric acid
(GABA) as a green inhibitor have been investigated. The electrochemical techniques
included Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The
rate of both the corrosion reaction and the hydrogen evolution affected significantly
by changing GABA concentrations. Polarization results showed that GABA is a
mixed type inhibitor with good inhibition efficiency. Increasing the temperature led to
an increase in the hydrogen evolution rate and a decrease in the total surface
resistance value (RT) or the relative film thickness (1/CT) of the steel. Quantum
calculation including EHOMO, ELUMO, the energy gap (?E) and the fraction of
transferred electrons (?N) demonstrated the inhibition ability of GABA. The results
were confirmed by surface examination using scanning electron microscopy.
Adsorption of GABA on the steel surface fitted the Langmuir isotherm.

determine the detection limit and the concentration of quinine in tonic water. As
shown in the graph of the quinine standard samples, the concentration was on average

calibration data, the pHdata was able to be observed and assesse the relationship of
pH to emission. As the pH increase the emission decreased, which showed that there
was minimal concentrationquenching. The detection limit of the fluorimeter was
calculated using the data from the calibration. Meaning that there will be slight error
within the calculations. It was determined to by approximately 3 ppm. Introduction:
Fluorescencespectroscopy, like all spectroscopic methods and instruments, involves
the excitation of a sample and the measure of the sample s response to such
excitation. However, the response measured varies from what is needed to be
analysis and the instrument used. For fluorescence, the sample is excited at a certain
wavelength. This excitation causes the molecule to jump energy levels, from the
ground to the excited state as shown in the figure below:

finishing the book, I felt like I connected more to Ms. Burton than people my own
age. A part of me saw pieces of myself through Susan s experiences, specifically the

school, I learned a great deal about how, when, and why. There is a system in place
for most employees and their evaluation procedures. Teachers are evaluated
