1. Essay About Lady Macbeth
Crafting an essay about Lady Macbeth is no walk in the park. Delving into the complexities of
her character requires a keen understanding of Shakespearean literature, psychological nuances,
and the broader themes within Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is a multifaceted character, embodying
ambition, manipulation, guilt, and tragedy. Analyzing her role in the play demands a
comprehensive exploration of her actions, motives, and the impact of her choices on the
unfolding narrative.
The task becomes challenging as one navigates the intricacies of Lady Macbeth's character
development. Unraveling the layers of her psyche and understanding the underlying factors that
drive her towards the path of darkness is no small feat. Moreover, addressing the societal and
gender dynamics prevalent in Shakespeare's time adds another layer of complexity to the essay.
To do justice to the topic, a writer must carefully navigate the textual evidence in Macbeth,
incorporating critical analyses and scholarly interpretations. Engaging with different perspectives
and interpretations from various literary scholars is imperative to present a well-rounded view of
Lady Macbeth's character.
Furthermore, an effective essay should not merely summarize events but should also provide
insightful commentary on Lady Macbeth's significance in the context of the play's overarching
themes. This requires a nuanced approach to connect her actions to the broader narrative,
exploring the consequences of her choices on other characters and the tragic trajectory of the
play.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Lady Macbeth demands a sophisticated understanding of
Shakespearean literature, a discerning analysis of character complexities, and the ability to weave
these insights into a coherent and compelling narrative. It is a task that requires diligence, critical
thinking, and a deep appreciation for the nuances of one of Shakespeare's most intriguing
characters.

2. U.s Russian Conflict Between Ukraine And Russia
Us Response to Ukraine and Russian Conflict
It has been argued that the Ukraine conflict can be attributed almost completely on
Russian hostility. It is argued that, the Russian president Putin, assaulted Crimea
because of the long desire to protect the soviet terrain, and from the prevailing
situation, he may possibly pursue the entire Ukraine, as well as other nations in
Eastern Europe. In this perception the dismissal of Ukraine president Viktor simply
provided an excuse for Putin`s decision to order Russian militaries to take hold of
part of Ukraine (Baker, et al 2014, p.1). The United States takes a big responsibility in
this conflict despite the idea that it is anticipated to answer back to the skirmish
between Ukraine and Russia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The struggle between the EU and Russia over Ukraine play an imperative part in the
current conflict of Russia and Ukraine. On the other hand, concerning the free trade
pact, Kiev initiated discussions for an entire unlimited trade pact with the European
Union after it had converted an associate of the world trade organization. The
agreement involved products, acquisition of administration, energy issues, and
protocols. Statistics demonstrates that Ukraine and European Union are great
partners, with exports to the European Union adding up to over nineteen billion
dollars and importation from European Union of approximately thirty billion dollars
(Simes 2014, p.5). Studies affirm that, Ukraine has experienced close trade with
Russia, and it was reported that after the desolation of the former USSR, the two
nations took on unlimited business pact. In recent times, Kiev was an older party to
the commonwealth of independent states FTA. However, in later years, Russia,
Belarus and Kazakhstan threw their levies in amalgamation. This is a step, which
Putin viewed as a leading phase to duties incorporation that would eventually
encompass all post USSR nations. Despite the fact that other nations have liked this
treaty, Ukraine`s frontrunners are still undecided whether or not connect to the duties
amalgamation.
Kiev amplified spectator rank to the duties amalgamation, Moscow allegedly

3. Essay Issues and Ethics in The Helping Professions
Critique of Issues and Ethics Themes in the Helping Professions Workers in the
helping professions endure a massive amount of ethical and professional issues.
These issues affect the practice of counseling and the relationship with the client.
The book Issues and Ethics in the Helping Professions by Corey, Corey, and
Hallanan gives many themes that one will encounter throughout their career. The
book also gives possible solutions to problems and stimulates different ways to
think about issues. The authors of this book provide good knowledge and
information for anyone in the helping professions. One theme of the book that stands
out is the counselor as a person and a professional. It is impossible to completely

Also with regards to therapy for the counselor, it might be beneficial for a
colleague to sit in on some sessions with the therapist to make sure their issues aren
t affecting their counseling. It can never hurt to get feedback and other
perspectives, especially if the therapist is struggling with personal or professional
issues. Another beneficial theme of the book is values and the helping profession.
A therapists values are part of who they are and it is difficult to ignore them. A
complicated issue counselors have is keeping their values from influencing the
client and realizing that their task is to help clients identify their beliefs and apply
their values to solving problems (Corey et al., 2010). A good point made in this
book was for a therapist and client to clarify their values. This way they both have
an understanding of each other s values and could be able to recognize when value
imposition is occurring. If value conflicts are occurring during therapy it would be
a good idea to refer the client to someone who can better understand where the
client is coming from. If referral is the only way, then perhaps the counselor should
explore their values and involvement in therapy. Along with values is one s religious
and spiritual beliefs. Corey et al. (2010) say that therapists should not act as if they
are an expert in religion or push their beliefs onto the client. That is understandable
but is it really that easy. Say for instance that a clients
4. Cinnamon Controversy
Cinnamon is a common everyday spice obtained from the inner bark of several trees
from the genus Cinnamomum that is used to flavor both sweet and savory foods.
The strong taste and scent come from cinnamaldehyde. The essential oil of cinnamon
bark is around 90% cinnamaldehyde (Wikipedia). Cinnamon trees are generally
tropical trees but can be grown in all 50 states simply by bringing the trees indoors
before temperatures drop below 40 degrees and also providing an abundant amount of
light. Several methods of laboratory production exist, but cinnamaldehydeis most
sparingly obtained from the steam distillation of the oil of cinnamonbark.
The most obvious application for cinnamaldehyde is as flavoring in chewing gum,
ice cream, candy, and beverages.
5. Epinephrine System Lab Report
The cardiovascular system is the most important system in our body. Without the vital
functions that the circulatory system performs, the human body would have no way
of transporting blood to vital organs or the ability to transport oxygen and nutrients to
cells in order to remove waste. This whole system plays a major role in maintaining
physiological homeostasis (Farley and McLafferty, 2012). Understanding cardiac
function plays a vital role in understanding how human physiology and anatomy
coexist. How is cardiac function regulated?

A neurotransmitter is a chemical that is released in order to send a signal to another
neuron across a synapse. During this experiment acetylcholine was used and it is a
neurotransmitter that is released from all parasympathetic postganglionic fibers
(Sherwood,2016). The main function of acetylcholine is the activation of skeletal
muscles and glandular functions in the endocrine system. Another neurotransmitter
utilized was epinephrine. Epinephrine is the primary hormone that prepares the body
for fight or flight responses and regulates arterial blood pressure in situations with
adrenaline (Medicine.net, 2017). Although not necessarily a neurotransmitter,
atropine sulfate was used in this study as well and it does closely effect
acetylcholine. More specifically, atropine sulfate is a parasympatholytic agents that
interacts with muscarinic receptors on effector cells which then prevents
acetylcholine form binding to the receptor site (Kovalcuka et al., 2015).
Baroreceptors also played a key role within this experiment. The primary role of
baroreceptors is to sense pressure changes and to respond to change of tension in the
arterial wall which helps in regulation of blood
6. Character Analysis Of Rumble Fish By Rusty James
The protagonist of the book is Rusty James. He is a fourteen your old boy that
smokes and drinks and fights already in the 1960 1970s in a southwest town. He
pushes himself to be like the Motorcycle boy (his brother). He starts to follow the
Motorcycle boy around to seem tougher and uncovers a new side of the Motorcycle
boy. The antagonist of Rumble Fishis not really a person but poverty. His dad drinks
away the child support money and is always drunk. Rusty is left to fend for
himself which makes him steal and drink and smoke and fight for money. The two
main themes of Rumble Fish are alienation and abandonment. Rusty James is just
trying to fit in but all the gangs split up and he has nowhere to go so he follows the
Motorcycle boy around to feel like he fits in. He is also abandoned by his father
and mother. His mother left when he was a baby and, his father is always drunk
and wastes the money. I would definitely recommend this book to someone. It is a
little slow but it has a good story line and it gets more interesting the more you read
it and the deeper you get. The exposition in the story in the story is when we learn
about Rusty James and his little crew who he hangs out with and how he is going to
fight Biff Wilcox. The conflict in the story is between the relationship between Rusty
James and his brother, the Motorcycle boy. The motorcycle boy tries to leave his gang
roots but Rusty keeps bringing him back. The climax is when the Motorcycle Boy,
Rusty James and Rusty s friend Steve go to town, get drunk They are split up and
Rusty and Steve get beat up. The Motorcycle boy then has to come and save them.
The resolution is when Rusty James and Steve meet at the end of the book and Steve

Quality Management

January 22, 2015 Dr. Kaoru Ishikawa, A Quality Control Pioneer
After World War II Japanese manufacturing companies where struggling to compete
in the worldwide markets. This was mainly due to the fact that most consumers
believed that products produced in Japan cheaply made and of poor quality. Business
leaders in Japan knew that changes in quality control needed to happen in
manufacturing to change the consumers minds about their products. They turned to
Dr. Kaoru Ishikawa to rally the Japanese government and people toward the specific
goal of improving quality control in their manufacturing companies, thus making Dr.
Ishikawa an early pioneer in Japan s quality revolution.
Dr. Ishikawa spend many years as a professor of engineering at Tokyo University and
became a Japanese icon as an influential quality management innovator. He helped
develop the bottom up view of quality management which the Japanese used to
approach quality management. Dr. Ishikawa not only help the Japanese workers see
the need for quality in their product he was able to persuade top management to get
involved and make total quality control a success in Japanese companies. Dr.
Ishikawa, with the help of the Japanese Union of Scientist and Engineers, was able to
implement changes in the way companies in Japan thought about total quality control
through in the introduction of quality circles.
8. Hofstede s Four Cultural Differences
1.Using Hofstede s four cultural dimensions as a point of reference, what are some of
the main cultural differences between the United States and France?
When referencing Hofstede s four cultural dimensions it is apparent that the United
States and France have different perceptions of one another. The United Statesviews
the French as arrogant, flamboyant, hierarchical, and emotional. Whereas, France
views the United States as naive, aggressive, unprincipled, and it s people being
workaholics. (Doh and Luthans, 2015)
The first main cultural difference would be power distance. The power distance
dimension indicates the point at which the less powerful members of organizations
and institutions accept and expect that power is distributed ... Show more content on

The French would rather have well structured management with rules and regulations
in place rather than take risks that may not have a positive outcome. Whereas,
Americans are the complete opposite, meaning that they are more willing to take
risks and are less traditional when it comes to rules and regulations.
The third cultural difference is masculinity. Masculinity is defined by Hofstede as a
trait, which emphasizes ambition, acquisition of wealth and differentiated gender
roles. (Tidwell, n.d) A society that is focused on money and success is said to be
high in masculinity. The United States is an example of an area that is high in this
dimension. For example, when the Disney company decided on opening a park in
France they didn t even take into consideration how the French would react or what
type of impact this could have on the their culture. Being that they have the masculine
characteristics they were more concerned about wanting to prevail on others.
The fourth cultural difference is individualism. According to Hofstede individualism
is defined as the tendency of the people to mainly look after themselves and their
immediate family. (ClearlyCultural, n.d) In the United States and France
individualism is pretty high. However, individualism is slightly higher in the United
States being that they are more likely to

A true hero does not fear death or, but instead risks all that he is for what he

legendary hero, conquering all obstacles as if he was immortal. Up until the end of
Beowulf s life he was constantly looking to be the hero. However, his humanity is

Beowulf showed his honor as he traveled from his homeland to battle the vicious

knows that there is a chance that he may die in his great battle against Grendel

Saxon time is always very confident, as well he should be. It would serve no purpose
to face battle with doubt of ones ability to do so, and with fear of all that awaits him.
Beowulf s morality came also in the form of loyalty to people and his word. Promises
by Beowulf were kept . Acceptance of death, and care for the welfare of his people

10. `` Quality Time Redefined `` By Alex Williams
The concept of family has changed in many perspectives throughout the years.
Nuclear families started back in the 1950s also known as ideal families . Today
family comes in many varieties whether it s nuclear, accordion, or extended
families and even same sex marriage. One thing that is undoubtedly true is that
family will always be the one that you have an unbreakable bond with. American
families have evolved in many ways leading us away from what was known as
nuclear families. The image of ideal families has changed and is now looked at
differently compared to years ago. But does technology and devices how to do
with the separation of family? In a short story in Rereading America called Quality
Time Redefined , author Alex Williams executes many interviews to try and see
how media has impacted the lives of family. According to one of his observations
there was one family in particular that stood out. Ms. Vavra a cosmetic industry
executive spoke about an evening with her family: ...Their son, Tom, was
absorbed by a Wii game on the wide screen television. Their daughter, Eve, was
fiddling with a game app called the Love Calculator on an iPod touch. Ms. Vavra
recalled, The family was in the same room but not together (94). She was advocating
about how her and her family was all sitting together but all of them were in their
own little worlds with their devices. Technology has become very popular and
advanced throughout the years. This may be the cause for why families
11. Two Similarities And Differences Between Germany And
China
Germany, a western country is well known for beer, sausage and innovative
technology. China, an eastern country is well known for delicious food, martial arts
and low priced products. Everyone knows they are completely different. However,
can you raise some concrete examples showing their difference? And is it true that
both do not have a single similarity at all? Though, they have certain similar aspects
if you look closer. One obvious difference between Germany and Chinais the food
habit. German tends to have cool food for breakfast, which comprises bread, cheese
and cold meat like ham and salami, whereas the Chinese tend to have hot food at the
beginning of the day, such as congee, which is a thick, white porridge made of rice
and water.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both countries view family as a key aspect of their life. German have a strong bond
with family. For example, everybody goes back home for reunion at Christmas and
Easter. Family would spend time together for enjoying the long holiday. Chinese
also emphasize family gathering and reunion, just as German do. During the
Spring Festival, a number of Chinese would travel from the city they are working
at back to their hometown in order to celebrate and gather, given the fact that the
Spring Festival is the most important festival to Chinese. Furthermore, both
societies show a great respect to elders. There is a Chinese saying, An old in a
home is like a treasure of a family. Chinese view the elder as an experienced and
alive encyclopedia more than an encumbrance in the society. Similarly, German are
always willing to help the senior citizens. German help those citizens is common in
public, like on buses and at restaurants. The youngsters would give up their seats,
or helping the elders getting on and off the bus. The politeness to senior citizens
could be also shown from the German language. People would use Sie , which is a
polite and formal form to address other, Herr and Frau to address the senior

business practices. This is one of the business practice sector that is most demanding
and constantly changing sector in business enterprise. Because of these demanding
tasks that corporate social responsibility has posed on business, business leaders or
stakeholders has been faced with the responsibility of bringing a favorable
environment for business activities. The prospect of corporate social responsibility

manner to benefit the business responsibility rather than overall business welfare,
which it is meant for (Ferrell 2014, pp. 3 17). Corporate social responsibility in its...

13. The Field Of Sport Management
Comparatively, the field of sport management is a rather new academic discipline
(Chalip, 2006), which has faced some challenges in terms of justifying its
prominence in the academic world. Nonetheless, Chalip (2006) believes it was an
unavoidable course for the evolution of sport management. Mullin (1980) defined the
sportmanager as follows:
A person whose job entails planning, organising, staffing, directing and controlling to
be performed within the context of an organisation whose primary product or service
is sport, or sport related (p3).
The term management has been defined in many different ways through research as it
continues to evolve across various industries. Although, Donnelly, Gibson and

As a result, the professional and elite levels have also grown substantially these last
three or four decades (Vanderzwaag, 1998). Areas such as recreational sporting
programs, corporate sponsored events, sporting news media and sporting goods have
been established within the professional realm of sport as well. It is evident that as
the sport industry grew and evolved, it progressively took on the business attributes
of other industries (Masteralexis, Barr Hums, 2014).
Despite similar business industry characteristics, the sport industry has a unique
management, business and legal practice, unique to all other industries. Furthermore,
what makes this industry so unique is the organisational structures that are in place in
order to manage, govern and organise sport. Masteralexis et. al (2014) identified three
main management structures of sport; clubs, leagues and tournaments which are used
to manage and organise sport. These management systems encompass a range of
amateur and professional organisations that may apply variations to these structures
for the purpose of producing a sporting event.
For instance, American college sports such as basketball, baseball, track and field, are
structured under the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as an amateur
governing body, but are televised across the United States and structured

Sir Thomas More s Utopia and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of
the Renaissance. Their reflections of the Renaissance are similar; however, their
representations of the Renaissance also have distinct differences. The Renaissance or
rebirth was a cultural movement that accompanied the passage of Europe from the
Middle Ages to modern times. Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian civic humanist,
historian, diplomat, philosopher, politician, and writer during the Renaissance. He
applied the values of the Renaissance to his political treatise, The Prince. Sir Thomas
was an English lawyer, philosopher, statesman, and humanist during the Renaissance.
He employed the ideals of the Renaissance to his Latin dialogue, Utopia. Both The
Prince and Utopia reflect the ideals of the Renaissance through their promotion of
education, humanism, and reform. There are, nevertheless, differences in how The
Prince and Utopia reflect the Renaissance. Both Sir Thomas More s Utopia and
Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance; however, they
diverge in their reflections through their views towards realism, idealism, morality,
religion, and rhetoric which demonstrates that the Renaissance was a diverse cultural
movement in early modern Europe. A variety of events from the eleventh century to
the fourteenth century ignited the Renaissance. The Crusades prompted the
Renaissance through the weakening of the feudal nobility and the laity s

The United States and Cuba officially cut diplomatic ties in the 1960 s. After the
relationship between the two nations deteriorated as a result of the Cold War, the

(Rothman, Why Did the U.S. and Cuba Sever Diplomatic Ties in the First Place?).
Eventually, traveling to Cuba was also prohibited by the United States, which further

their diplomatic relations. The reestablishing of the Cuban embassy and probable

17. Inflation Targeting
It widely recognized that the monetary policy within a country should be primarily
concerned with the pursuit of price stability. However, it is still not clear how this
objective can be achieved most effectively. This debate remains unsettled, but an
increasing number of countries have adopted inflation targeting as their monetary
policyframework. (Dr E J van der Merwe, 2002) This topic of Inflationtargeting is a
subject which immediately conjures different perceptions from different people.
Many feel that low inflation should be a main aim of monetary policy, while others
(such as trade union activists) believe that a higher growth rate to stimulate jobs
should be the main concern.

This is due to the structured decision making process of the framework. Thirdly,
the central banks (Reserve Bank) accountability is improved along with discipline
toward the monetary policy. (Dr E J van der Merwe, 2002) This is because clear
targets are set which the Reserve Bank is forced to meet. Finally, due to the targets
set because of the policy, expectations arise which facilitate a reduction in inflation.
If these targets set are credible, they form the basis for future price and wage setting.
(Dr E J van der Merwe, 2002)
Advantages of inflation targeting
Inflation targeting has numerous advantages as a strategy for monetary policy.
Unlike an exchange rate peg, inflation targeting enables monetary policy to focus
primarily on domestic considerations and to respond accordingly to the domestic
economy. (Mishkin F, 2000). Inflation targeting has the advantage that a stable
relationship between money and inflation is not critical to its success. The strategy
does not depend on this relationship, but rather uses all available information to
determine the most appropriate settings of the inflation rate for the monetary policy.
(Mishkin F, 2000) Inflation targeting also has the key advantage that it is easily
understood by the public and is thus highly transparent. As an explicit target for
inflation is created,
18. The Conceptual Boundaries Of Descartes Essay
Introduction This paper examines the conceptual boundaries that Descartes
established that define what he determined to be the human mind. These conceptual
boundaries are relatively high in character ensuring that, according to Descartes, there
exists a firm line between what determines a human mind versus a purely physical
entity such as an animal. However, this examination extends the argument further
into the realm of mechanical entities as well as artificial intelligence (AI). The
analysis is meant to determine if contemporary technology has managed to achieve or
surpass the arbitrary standards established by Descartes vis Г vis what constitutes a
mind or soul. The argument, in this instance, is that contemporary technology has
developed what Descartes would have classified as a mind in the form of AI, which
exceeds Descartes minimum standards. Descartes Demarcation The metaphorical line
that Descartes establishes that determines the division between what constitutes a
human mind from a non human entity is quite clear. Descartes expends considerable
effort in explaining that the human mind is, above all, self aware. For instance, in the
course lectures it is noted that Descartes believes that when an entity, primarily a
person, asserts that it exists to itself, then this in and of itself establishes a precedence
of mind (Descartes , 2016, p.19). Such a precedent demonstrates a fundamental belief
about oneself that rises above external observation but

Mrs. Hale assumed the bird cage belonged to a singing canary due to living in a

20. Minority Shareholder Rights- Case
To: Joe Brock From: Sue Smith, CPA Subject: Minority Shareholder Rights
Facts:
Joe Brock is a minority interest shareholder in Big Corporation. Leslie Ross is a
shareholder that owns less than 50% of the voting shares, but has the majority of the
voting shares and thus has taken control of the corporation. According to SFAS 94,
due to this control, Leslie Ross must consolidate his interest with Big Corporation.
Mark Jones, a minority shareholder, is in a position of management for the company.
Joe Brock is unhappy with Mr. Jones decisions and would like to challenge his

Consideration is given if the majority shareholder owns such a significant portion of
the investee that the minority shareholder has a small economic interest. The larger
the disparity, the more likely these are to be protective rights. In this situation, there
is not a large disparity.
b. If the corporate governance arrangements states that decisions are made at the
shareholder level, these are likely to be substantive participating rights.
c. If matters can be put to a vote of the shareholders, these are most likely substantive
participating rights.

Assessing whether the rights of a minority shareholder should overcome the
presumption of consolidation by the majority investor depends on whether the
majority investor has control over the corporation. Judging control depends on many
factors, including if a minority investor has participating or protective rights.
ASC 810 10 25 10 through 25 11
A minority investor that holds protective rights does take the control away from the
majority investor and the owner of the majority voting interest would need to
consolidate with the corporation.
Substantive participating rights are granted by contract or by law. A minority
investor that holds these rights can participate in significant decisions that are made
in the ordinary course of business, including vetoing significant decisions proposed
by the investor with the majority voting interest. If this
21. The Causes And Treatment Of Sepsis
The term sepsis has been around since prehistoric times. Hippocrates presented the
word sepsis 2400 years ago to represent a condition where an overwhelming infection
leads to tissue breakdown with rotting, foul odour, and disease. The ancient Roman
scholar and writer (116 BC 27 BC), Marcus Terentius Varro mentioned that small
creatures, invisible to the eye, fill the atmosphere, and breathed through the nose
cause dangerous diseases.
In the early 1990s at a conference convened by the American College of Chest
Physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine modern definitions of sepsis
were termed in detail. At that time, sepsis was described as a systemic response to a
physiologic insult including infections and other etiologies that lead to the
development of further organ injury, ultimately culminating in multiple organ
dysfunction syndromes.
The word bacteraemia is used when bacteria are isolated from the blood whether
clinical symptoms are present or not while the words sepsis or septicaemia is used
for the isolation of bacteria in blood in combination with clinical symptoms and signs
of infections.
Neonatal sepsis, also named Sepsis neonatorum , represents to a group of physical
and laboratory findings that occur in response to invasive infection within the first 30
days (neonatal) of life. Criteria for neonatal sepsis should include documentation of
infection in a newborn infant (0 28days) with a serious systemic illness in which

IKEA S GLOBAL SOURCING CHALLENGE INDIAN RUGS AND CHILD
LABOR
In 1995, Marianne Barner, IKEA s manager for carpets, faced a difficult situation
when one of their Indian rug supplier apparently was involved with the use of child
labor in the manufacture of its products for IKEA. Even though they had a contract
where IKEA explicitly forbid the use of child labor. These Allegations generated
mixed opinion regarding the future of all the Indian carpet suppliers and the company
was studying the future impacts of its decision.
In order to assess and give recommendations to IKEA, it is important to fully
understand the operations and the values that drive the company, ant its philosophy.
Since was founded in 1954 by Ingvar Kamprad the Swedish company s vision of
creating a better life for the many people inspired them to develop high quality and
lower cost products in the furniture business, and almost a decade later, after they

stores in Northway and Denmark respectively (Exhibit 1). With a relatively rapid
expansion the company needed to transmit their unique philosophy and created the

I could not find my keys anywhere, this was not helping my situation. I was
already late for work and with my current weekly track record, one more tardy day
that week would cause me to get fired. My apartment was already a mess without
me uprooting every pile of clothes to find my keys. I looked out my window while
midst my self created turmoil to see storm clouds forming. This could possibly
give me an excuse as to why I was late. When I turned around I saw my cat Randal
getting up from his nap, his departing mass revealed my keys. I didn t have time to
comprehend the absurdity of this and I grabbed them and left. Being on the top level
of my apartment building was a luxury with the exception of the lack of an elevator.

Rumors around the office had been lightly surfacing for a few weeks about how
people were being fired because of various petty mistakes. And I was sure I would
be too for my late streak. At 5:00 PM I left work and headed home. I would be up
late tonight because of a deadline for a new design. As I worked through the night
I pondered the rumors and why I was not let go. But the next morning the answer
made itself bluntly clear. As I was getting ready for work I received an email from
my boss. It stated, We at Calgary Design sincerely thank you for your service at the
company, but the constant and quality record of customer satisfaction is sinking.
We are losing clients often and little income is being brought in. It is with this note
that we inform you that we will no longer require your services at this company.
My spirits sank as I read the the email and I found myself on the floor of my
apartment once I had finished. I perused the email information and was shocked
with what I saw. The email had been sent to 28 out of the 53 employees that
worked my floor, and no doubt many more working at the three floor complex.
This was my dream job, and I didn t have any back up plan for being laid off.
Randal must have sensed my anguish as he meandered towards me and curled up on
my chest. After about an hour of lying still in thought I eventually mustered up
enough courage to go to work and retrieve all of my belongings.
24. The Is Not The Only Accusation Made By God Against
Israel...
Idolatry was not the only accusation made by God against Israel and Judah.
Corruption had become the norm for the priest, leaders, businessmen, and common
man alike. The people of these nations cared only about what they had and wanted.
They would lie, cheat, steal, and even kill to get what they wanted. Their priests
would only teach if they were paid. God gave the priests a position of trust and
responsibility to be the caretakers of the people. They were supposed to be the
shepherds, not the oppressors, of God s people. Instead, they turned their backs on
God s law and began selling themselves for money, power, and approval while they
hid behind the appearance of righteousness. God warned them that all of the wealth
and possessions they had prostituted themselves to get would once again be used to
buy other prostitutes. This statement may be confusing to some so look at what
God is saying. The people of Israel sold their integrity, morals, and beliefs for
pleasure, popularity, and personal gain. God is now telling them that all of these
things will be taken from them and Satan will use them to lure other people into
the same type of prostitution. God s warnings and accusations that are recorded in
the books of the Major and Minor Prophets are not just for these ancient Kingdoms.
They apply to our world today. If we focus on His accusations of evil and not the
people or nations that these prophets warned, we can see the same rebellion and
wickedness in our

The End of Global Strategy

Recent research suggests that globalization is a myth. Far from taking place in a
single global market, most business activity by large п¬Ѓrms takes place in regional
blocks. There is no uniform spread of American market capitalism nor are global
markets becoming homogenized. Government regulations and cultural differences

is not so. MNEs are not monolithic; in fact, the largest 500 multinationals are spread
across the triad economies of NAFTA, the EU, and Japan/Asia. Recent research
shows that of these 500, there are 198 headquartered in NAFTA countries, 156 in the
EU, and 125 in Japan/Asia.6 Additionally, these triad based MNEs compete for
global market shares and profits across a wide variety of industrial sectors and
trade services. And this process of regional competition erodes the possibility of
sustainable long term profits and the possibility of building strong, sustainable
political advantage (Rugman, 1996; Rugman and D Cruz, 2000). A third
misunderstanding about globalization is the belief that MNEs develop homogeneous
products for the world market and through their efficient production techniques are
able to dominate local markets everywhere. In truth, multinationals have to adapt
their products for the local market. For example, there is no worldwide, global car.
Rather, there are regionally based American, European, and Japanese factories that
are supported by local regional suppliers who provide steel, plastic, paint, and other
necessary inputs for producing autos for that

In the past weeks or so I have noticed a spike of people losing hope for the world,
this mentality (and its influence) is not new but recent events in my life have

time I analyzed this problem and all its contributing factors I thoughtof how stupid
can people be to think that the world is not capable of developing peace through
change with so much potential in hands, hypocritical and lazy can a person get, and

28. Teaching-Learning Based Optimization Algorithm
Teachingв€’Learning Based Optimization Algorithm
TLBO is a recently proposed meta heuristic that imitates a successful and dynamic
educational strategy in a classroom [29 31]. Similar to most evolutionary algorithms,
TLBO is a population based algorithm. The population consists of some students and
a teacher. The teacher is the most knowledgeable one in the population.
The main advantage of this algorithm over other evolutionary algorithms is that
TLBO has no adjustable parameters, so there is no need to design a tuning
mechanism for the parameters. The educational strategy of this algorithm includes
both direct and interactive instruction. Actually, not only can the students be affected
by their teacher, but also they can affect each other.
TLBO algorithm can be divided into two phases: 1 Teaching phase (direct instruction)
2 Learning phase (interactive instruction). In the teaching phase, the teacher provides
information for all the students and the students learn from their teacher, while in the
learning phase they can learn from each other and develop their skills. The pseudo
code of the proposed TLBO algorithm is shown in Figure 1. Teaching phase
The best member is selected as the teacher in each iteration. The teacher trains his/her
students. In practice the teacher can only improve the mean of the students
knowledge. Students improvement depends on the students aptitude for learning. The
knowledge of each student is changed according to the following equations:
29. Building An Exascale Scale System
Even though Exascale computing is providing very good opportunities in the field
of science, like in the understanding of the behavior of the fundamental components
of nature. In order to build an Exascale scale system we have to overcome some of
the critical challenge like architecture, software, algorithm and data challenges. Some
of the important challenges of the Exascale computing are, Challenges due to scale
and complexity of system Previously the power of super computers has grown by
doubling the clock frequency. In the last two decades the trend has changed the
power of supercomputing is increased by increasing the number of processors.

The shift to multicore Exascale systems will require applications to exploit million
way parallelism and overcome significant reductions in the bandwidth and volume
of memory available to each CPU. There is another looming shift in the complexity
of the node architectures that will be as big a challenge to software development
as the exponential growth in processors. This is the potential shift to heterogeneous
node architectures. The major challenges caused by the increasing scale and
complexity HPC systems are cross cutting of the entire software stack. The software
challenges include the rapid increase in parallelism, the memory wall, system
heterogeneity and fault tolerance. Increasing Parallelism The tremendous increase
of system concurrency from hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions will be
a big challenge for system software to manage and for applications to get good
performance at this level of parallelism. As we all know that almost all of today s
large scale applications use the message passing programming model (MPI) together
with traditional sequential languages (C, Fortran, C++), but the new architectures
with many cores per chip and parallelism in the millions will make this programming
model more problematic and less productive in the future. Thus a new approach is
needed. Like

E.E. Cummings explained It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you

Alyss when she was young loved her home in Wonderland but had to grow up in a

her but that fantasy never left as she grew and became who she really was. In The
Looking Glass Wars, Frank Beddor uses conflict to transform Alyss from a
mischievous, endearing, and naive girl to a fond of, praised, and comfortable young
woman so that she can defeat Redd and take back the Heart Queendom.
In the beginning of the novel, Princess Alyss is characterized as mischievous,
endearing, and naive. Alyss loves to play pranks such as dropping jollyjellies from
an open window and watching them splat on the guards below (Beddor 11).
Instead of behaving like a proper princess, she prefers getting into trouble with her
best friend, Dodge. However, her pranks are never mean spirited; Alyss just enjoys
having fun. Although Alyss is mischievous, her father finds Alyss to be a
delightful creature (Beddor 19). Besides her parents, other adults who even
sometimes find themselves as Alyss s targets, such as Bibwit Harte, also, find
Alyss to be endearing. They appreciate her playfulness and are charmed by her.
Since Alyss is so accustomed to people loving her, she barely questions, Where did

35. Global Assessment of Energy Potentials
Global Assessment of Energy Potentials The future of fossil fuels is a critical
component of the future of all humanity. The demand for fossil fuels in consistently
growing globally as the population expands and more economies worldwide become
development. Despite the rising demand for fossil fuels, the supply is relatively
fixed. However, through advancements in technology in regard to extraction of the
total supply of fossil fuels, new energysources are continually being identified. The
most salient example of new forms of extraction is that of the technics that are
being used for Shale gas reserves. Shale gas is in abundant supply however it
requires new forms of extraction in order to be economically justifiable. The
unconventional development of shale gas extraction methods is estimated to be
able to meet the growing demand for global energy (Gregory, Vidic, Dzombak,
2013). The Energy Information Administration (EIA) projects that natural gas that
is extracted from shale formations will be the key component in meeting energy
demands in domestic natural gas production through 2035, growing from 16% of
supply in 2009 to 49% in 2035 which will also work to offset the declining
production of other fossil fuel sources whose reserves are limited and steadily
declining. The extraction of natural gas through new processes is one of the key
developments in energy that will work to define the future of the energy supply.
As traditional sources are steadily consumed, the
36. Venezuela s Presidency And Leadership
Latin America s history has been paved by the various social movements that give a
voice to the indigenous and the forgotten populations. In Venezuela, the Bolivarian
Revolution sparked a movement that fought to liberalize the country from the elitist
and foreign influence. Under Hugo Chavez s presidency and leadership, the
Bolivarian Revolution flourished as a leftist social movement in pursue of popular
democracy, economic independence, equality, and an end to political corruption. In
this paper I will discuss the origin of such an impactful movement, its significance,
success and failure. As well as, how it shaped Venezuelas present day.
Emergence
During the 20th century, Venezuela s agricultural based economy transition into an
economy heavily based on the exportation of oil, thus increasing the country s GDP
in Latin America. Although, the export of oil increased Venezuela s economic
power, it also brought an immense amount of inequality between the elites and
ordinary citizens. In addition, Venezuela experienced an economic crisis in the
1980s and 1990s, thus leading to a political crisis, which motivated the people of
Venezuela to demand a change. The Bolivarian Revolution began in 1992 after Hugo
Chavez attempt to overthrow the current president, Carlos Andres Perez, failed. In
1994, Chavez transformed what was once his military coup into a revolutionary, anti
system movement. Following Chavez s release from prison, he took office as
president of Venezuela in 1999

Americans were hasty to ascertain the information first. Frustrated with the lack of

The Ma a slaughterhouse has three ponds, the aerobic pond, anaerobic pond, and the
facultative pond, which are used for the wastewater. There is also a sludge drying
bed for the sludge.
The solid wastes generated are just disposed in a nearby dumpsite or within the
area, which then creates foul odor. Some solid wastes like bones and coagulated
bloods are sold as fertilizers. Uncollected bloods are directly thrown to floor drains.
B.Project Location
Davao City slaughterhouse is located at Ma a Davao City. The industry is isolated
into the community of Ma a District and has a fence all over the area. It occupies
about 10,000 sq. meters of land and is isolated with the residential areas. It drains its
waste through the waste water system of Davao City. That s why a minimal area is

43. Reflection Paper On Personal Values
As we discussed in this class values are specific elements of desirability, worth,
importance, or whatever a group or person feels is important (09.26.17). The personal
values that I have chosen to discuss for this paper are autonomy, kindness, honesty,
and happiness. If I were to list these values from highest importance to least, it would
begin with happiness, followed by kindness, honesty and lastly autonomy.
There are different types of values which are intrinsic and non intrinsic. Intrinsic
values refer to values that are good in themselves and non intrinsic values are values
that are good for what they can get us. My chosen values are all except one non
intrinsic (the only intrinsic value being happiness). The reasoning behind why I
classify four of these values as non intrinsic makes me appear to be quite a selfish
person as I begin to determine why I hold these values so close to me as I do.
An example of how my non intrinsic values make me seem like a selfish person is
my second personal value which is kindness. As I began to think about why I value
kindness, I came to the conclusion that it is because I want to obtain things from
other people. Before taking this course and actually thinking about why I value
kindness, I thought that I was (in my opinion) a kind hearted person was simply due
to my innate personality and that being kind was just how I was, that there was not
real explanation as to why I valued it at all.

The Real Story in Life of Pi
The difference between fiction and reality is not
always evident to those who are unable or unwilling to recognize the difference. In
Yann Martel s novel Life of Pi, he wants the reader to decipher whether his first
story or his second story is real. The first story consists of the protagonist, Piscine
Patel, being trapped on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger, Richard Parker, and many
other animals from his father s zoo after they were lost together at sea. In the
second story, Piscine re tells a different story with a chef, his mother, and a sailor,
this was to give the Japanese investigators a story that wont surprise them (you)

Pi would not be alive if there was a real tiger in the vessel. When the boat was
searched by the investigators, there was little to prove that Pi was indeed trapped
with a Bengal tiger. When Pi told Mr. Tomohiro Okamoto and his junior colleague,
Mr. Atsuro Chiba, to look in the boat for proof, they did not find any traces of a
tiger having being present. Instead, they found what Pi claimed to be meerkat
bones that were eaten by Richard Parker after their departure from the island but
what were actually bones from another pest that escaped from the sinking
Tsintsum, and which was eaten by one of the lifeboat s human inhabitants, We
have no proof they were meerkat bones (300). The educated investigators reasoned
that the bones came from the animals from the ship and that meerkats were not the
likely victims. When pressed on the issue of the lack of credibility of the animal
story, Pi is forced to give a second, human story because it is the only story that
would be reasonably believable, full of dry yeastless factuality . The tiger that Pi
refers to throughout his ordeal is could be perceived as the alter ego of himself,
The tiger killed the hyena and the blind Frenchman just as he killed the cook
(311). While Pi was able to use his imagination to portray a tiger as himself,
Richard Parker was never more than an extension of Pi s imagination. Richard
Parker simply symbolized Pi in the real world and could never
45. Marcus Brutus As A Tragic Hero
The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, is set in Rome in the
year 44 B.C. Julius Caesar is very popular among Romans, and is going to become
dictator soon. Caesar s best friend, Marcus Brutus, is very popular and everyone
respects him. Brutus is a senator, and he comes from a long line of nobles in Rome.
He is very naГЇve, and that often leads to him misreading human characters and
critical situations. Brutus is later evicted from Rome, which is his most important
ideal. Marcus Brutus is a tragic hero because he is prominent, has a fatal flaw, and
experiences a downfall. Brutus fulfills the first important characteristic of a tragic
hero since he is very prominent and respected in society. He is the foremost orator...

He experiences a downfall of being evicted from Rome, which leads to the death of
his character. Rome is one of Brutus loves, and when he is evicted, everything that
could possibly go wrong does. Antony and Octavius have a list of over 100 people
that they are planning to execute. Brutus starts to become deranged after his
argument with Cassius, and he sees Caesar s ghost. The ghost says to Brutus, To
tell thee thou shalt see me at Philippi. (IV. iii. 285). Brutus then knows that Caesar
will get his revenge on the battlefield. Brutus whole point in killing Caesar is to
protect Rome and its people. However, after Caesar s death, everyone in Rome
hates him. People are constantly being killed by Antony, and Brutus can do
nothing to stop it. This upsets Brutus terribly. Lastly, Brutus argument with
Cassius makes him uneasy. Harsh words are exchanged, about Cassius being
greedy and taking blackmailed money. However, they make up and decide to move
forward. Brutus is also on edge because of Portia s death. Portia is a smart woman,
and knows she will probably be killed for being the conspirator s wife. So, she
swallows a hot coal and dies. Starting with his eviction from Rome, Brutus
experiences a downfall that leads to his

the history, also the environment field. On April 22th, 1970, it woke everyone that
human need to protect the environment they are living today (The History of Earth
Day | Earth Day Network). This brought the caution to people that we need to aware
the environmental concerns from now. The EarthDay can bring more knowledge and
information to educate people. It also reminds people years and years that we need
to do everything and protect the world we only have before it is too late.
Forty six years later, there are more and more countries, organizations, schools and
others institutions join activities which help protect the environment. For instance,
cut the electricity for an hour, planets more trees, and build up protect areas. The
government also release many laws to enforce the protection such as Clean Water Act
and Clean Air Act.

Renaissance Education DBQ
During the Renaissance, widespread education was one of the most studied topics of
the time period. There were many different values that applied to education in order
to make it specific to the Renaissance Period. Some different values of Renaissance
Education explored at the time were the study of Humanism, or the looking back to
Greek and Roman influences, the importance of education itself, the topics beings
studied, and the education of women.
Humanism was a very key and important part of the Renaissance outlook on
education because it led to a further study of Greek and Roman culture. Humanism

This value is really a way to stress the importance of being educated in order to have
a successful life. Baldassare Castiglione, an Italian diplomat and author, speaks of
the importance for the a courtier to be educated in the humanities, Latin poets,
orators, and historians. Castiglione also expresses the need for courtiers to be
educated in writing verse and prose, especially in the vernacular language. If they
are educated in writing, then even if their own writings do not merit great praise,
then they will at least be capable of judging the writing of others (Doc 3). While
The Courtier by Castiglione was considered a book of etiquette in the Renaissance,
it was still emphasizing the importance of education in order to fit into society.
Castiglione wrote The Courtier to help be a guide for the servants of the royal
court, and how they should behave. The importance of education for ones future is
shown especially in Document 6, where the Italian historian, Francesco
Guicciardini, speaks of how as a boy he made light of good penmanship, and
learned things like dancing and singing that are more decorative than substantial in
a man He says that he wished that he had spent more time on his education,
because knowing these skills open the way to the favor of Princes, and sometimes
to great profit and honors Guicciardini means that having a good education when
grown up is very valuable in trying to begin a successful career and having a good
reputation, and he says this because he has the personal experience of trying to make
a living without a good base education. During the Renaissance, theology was still a
major part of study, but it was no longer the dominant part of educating. The school
ordinances in Document 7 stated that a pastor should promote education not only for
liberal arts, but also for more religious matter, which is the

The accounting profit figure is simply a measure of the true profit of an organisation.
Discuss.
In order to assess whether the accounting profit is a measure of the true profit it
must first be shown that there is such a thing as true profit. If we decide there is, we
then need to know what it is exactly, in order to assess the extent to which the
accounting profit reflects this true profit figure. Before studying this module I
believed that the true profit was essentially the accounting profit calculated correctly.

I soon began to doubt that there even is such a thing as true profit. In the Hines
article from the first seminar Hines shows how accountants create reality when they
describe it. In accounts objects only exist once they are realised by the accountant3.
Hines uses the example of revenue: We recognise revenue when it is realised. By
naming it revenue , it becomes revenue.. Just like the black holes. Concepts like
revenue and profit are the creations of accountants. What they are depends on how
you define them. With real life objects (e.g. a chair), definitions may vary, however
they are all based on the existence of the same underlying object. With a concept like
profit there is no object until it s fully defined. Once I fully considered this the idea
of true profit seemed strange. Profit was created as an accounting concept and
accountants decide what it is. Profit doesn t exist in reality outside accounting there
is no such thing as true profit.
This idea was soon challenged in later seminars. Wagner argues that there is

The Caesar cipher method of encryption involves replacing each of the letters of
the alphabet in the original text by a letter located a set number of places further
down the sequence of the letters in the alphabet of the language. The sender and
receiver agree in advance to replace each letter of the alphabet in the text by a letter
that is, for example, three letters further down in their alphabet. An encryption
method that involves rearranging the sequence of characters according to a specific
rule such as that shown above is referred to as a substitution cipher . Substitution
ciphers are a well known encryption method, and they are the most commonly used
encryption method in the history of encryption. The modern encryption machine

Freudian Analysis of ZuГ±i Tale Sigmund Freud, the famed Austrian neurologist,
pioneered the process of psychoanalysis, which was intended to be a clinical
method to treat neurosis and other forms of psychopathology. However, it has also
found use in analyzing stories, dreams, and myths. Freud s method of developing
latent thoughts through manifest content will be demonstrated in the following
paper, which focuses on a ZuГ±i folktale called The Ugly Wild Boy Who Drove the
Bear Away from South Eastern Mesa. The story is about a young boy who lives with
his grandmother near a village called K iГЎkime. This boy is unlike others in that he
is frightfully ugly ; with scars all over his body, he suffers from distorted facial
features and abnormal growths on his head. One season it rains heavily in the
Southeastern Mesa near K iГЎkime, bringing forth fresh growth like nuts from
piГ±on trees, fruit from datilas, and seeds from the gray grass and redtop. However,
the villagers are unable to retrieve them because an old, frightening bear claims the

Raining is a phallic symbol with relation to urination, and in the context of the
story, it also brings forth fertility. Freud s works explain fruits as a symbol of
breasts, in line with the concept of fertility. Whether they stand for fertility or
specifically breasts, the datila fruit, piГ±on nuts, and grass seed represent desirable
items to the boy and the villagers. Unfortunately, the bear prevents the village from
gathering the fruit, which drives the story s main conflict. A towering, violent
animal, the bear is the principle foe of the boy, and further affirms the notion of the
simpleton hero story; in comparison, the boy is weak, yet he can defy all odds and
defeat a more powerful enemy. Moreover, his unexpected wild nature is like that of
the initially unrepressed id, which seeks to be controlled throughout the

In life, there are two opposing forces that wage a constant war in men s hearts, truth
and ignorance. While some walk along the enlightened path of truth, others are
blinded by the veil of ignorance, unable to see anything beyond their distorted view
of the world. In John Knowles A Separate Peace, two maturing teens named Gene and
Finny feel the effects of this inner strife, which shapes their actions and causes the
fall, and eventual death, of Finny. While Gene comes to terms with the glaring light
of truth, Finny continues to hide behind a veil of ignoranceand innocence, unable to

Near the end of the novel, Brinker organizes a mock trial in which Gene is accused
of causing Finny s fall. Throughout the trial, Finny adamantly denies Gene s
involvement, claiming Gene was not even on the tree when he fell. However, the
arrival of Leper, a fellow classmate, causes him to doubt himself. Leper is an
innocent schoolboy who joins the military but deserts after going insane. He
returns to Devon Academy, where he is invited by Brinker to shed light upon the
incident, which he does by revealing Gene s involvement in Finny s fall. Finny,
unable to handle the truth, emotionally retreats from the room as he shouts You get
the rest of the facts Brinker....you collect every f ing fact there is in the world!
(Knowles 177). Finny reacts emotionally to the truth because accepting it would
mean accepting his closest companion is no longer to be trusted. This is particularly
scarring for Finny because after his theory about the war is shattered, he becomes
dependent on Gene s loyalty and candor: Christ, I ve got to believe you, at least. I
know you better than anybody (Knowles 163). In both cases, Finny s innocent beliefs
are shattered by Leper, who illuminates the reality of the world s evils and
consequently destroys Finny s blissful ignorance. Leper symbolizes the unadulterated
truth; he is unencumbered

You must look at the color, the consistency, the clarity and the shape of the aura.
There are specific meanings for each of the colors of the aura which we will deal
with in a separate chapter. The primary colors have set meanings, but a
combination color such as a reddish brown would take on qualities of both colors.
And how clear and bright the color is, is very important to the interpretation,
because a bright color means something very different than a dull color. As you
learn about the colors you will also learn about where on the body the color is.
Each chakra in the body is associated with a certain color so don t be surprised to
find that color near that chakra. Colors around one area can mean one thing and
around a different area mean something completely different. When we look at a
person s aura we are looking at their true self, everything that is left after you take
away all the habits, mannerisms, the people they pretend to be, and their frivolous,
trivial behavior. Their aura shows who they truly are not the facade they show
everyone in public. In general, the more balanced the aura, the healthier and more

We can safely assume that she was referring to the 16th Street Church bombing in

America and wanting equality for black people. The curse word in the title made
many radio stations ban the song. Light elaborates on how there is a
straightforwardness in Nina s lyrics, and how it led to many people, mainly Nina s
white counterparts straying away once she became more involved in the civil rights

add songs like Four Women and To Be Young, Gifted and Black to her protest
repertoire. Few months later, crossover singer Sam Cooke comes out with A
