Essay On How I Spent My Summer Holidays
Crafting an essay on the subject of my summer holiday experiences presents a unique challenge.
It's not merely about recounting events but capturing the essence of those moments in a way that
engages the reader. The difficulty lies in striking a balance between personal reflection and
universal appeal. Too much focus on personal details risks alienating the audience, while too
little leaves the narrative feeling hollow and disconnected.
Moreover, the task involves not just narrating events chronologically but weaving them into a
cohesive story with a clear beginning, middle, and end. This requires careful planning and
organization to ensure that each anecdote contributes to the overarching theme or message of the
essay.
Additionally, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and clichГ©d descriptions. It's easy to
fall into the trap of using overly sentimental language or relying on tired tropes to convey
emotions. Instead, the essay must strive for authenticity and originality, offering insights and
reflections that resonate with the reader on a deeper level.
Furthermore, there's the pressure to stand out among countless other essays on similar topics.
With so many students tasked with recounting their summer experiences, it becomes essential to
find a unique angle or perspective that sets the essay apart from the rest.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on how I spent my summer holidays is no simple feat. It
demands skillful storytelling, thoughtful reflection, and a creative approach to avoid clichГ©s
and captivate the reader's attention. It's a task that requires time, effort, and careful consideration
to execute effectively.

Delta and The Future of The Airline Industry Essay
IV.The Future of the Airline Industry
The Airline Industry is in an interesting situation. Simply adding a low cost
alternative is not enough in the industry. The Internet has made the power of buyers
grow with the transparency of ticket prices. This is not something that will change
any time soon. Because of this profitability is predominately reserved for low cost
yet distinctive carriers. No consumer wants to ride what they consider a lesser airline.
Airlines need a way to distinguish themselves from one another while also
acknowledging the increased power of buyers. The future of the industry is in
JetBlue s cheap chic style. Airlines need to maintain a cost effective price point while
also not appearing cheap. Small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through similar mergers in the 1980s and 1990s, Delta extended its reach into trans
continental and international markets (Rivkin 7 8). According to its stated position
today,
Delta Air Lines serves more than 160 million customers each year. With an industry
leading global network, Delta and the Delta Connection carriers offer service to 356
destinations in 65 countries on six continents. (Delta.com).
The result of this objective is the third largest commercial carrier in the world, having
a strong presence in major hubs such as Atlanta, Dallas, Cincinnati, and Salt Lake
City (Rivkin 8).
As with all airlines, Delta s recent performance has been significantly impacted by
industry shifts and external events. Terrorist attacks and escalating costs have
significantly impacted Delta s profitability in recent history (Rivkin 4). The company
has also been losing valuable market share to the low cost carrier Southwest Airlines
throughout the southeast and specifically in the lucrative Florida market (Rivkin 8).
JetBlue also began encroaching on key Delta routes, and this seems only likely to
increase (Rivkin 9). Despite this, Delta has still performed better than any other
legacy carrier (Rivkin 8). Still, recent history has brought several changes to this
legacy carrier, and the company has turned its attention towards new competitive
strategies.

Essay Best Teacher, Worst Teacher
Best Teacher, Worst Teacher
Although I have had many different types of teachers, there are two that stick out
more than any others. The first was my third and sixth grade teacher. She was the
best teacher I ever had. The second was my seventh grade teacher. She was the worst
I think a student could have had. Both, these teachers had very different teaching
styles and very different out looks on teaching. To be an effective teacher the teacher
must respect the student and be willing to go the extra mile to help the students learn
all they can. In this paper, I will discuss the effectiveness of these two teachers and
how their teaching styles differed.

I hope that I do not become a teacher like this.
Now that I can see the difference in good and bad teaching I have two teachers in
mind that fit each description. The first being my favorite teacher. She was both
my third and sixth grade teacher. She showed me that I could be what ever I
wanted to be. She made me feel that even though I was not the best student in the
class I still could be the best if I gave a little more. She motivated me to do all my
work and gave me the extra boost I need to learn. When the students in my class did
something right she always praised us. She also played game with us to learn.
According to the book it says. ?If the teacher keeps the students involved they will
be more likely to like school and learn in school.?
The second type of teacher is and ineffective teacher. This type of teacher does not
motivate or enthuse their students to learn. My seventh grade teacher was this
type of teacher. She was a cake decorating teacher at the vocational center then
became a math teacher overnight. At the begging of class, every day she would
stand at the board and say class be quiet class shut up. That s all she would say the
whole class and we never got anything done. Then if she would try to teach she
would read out of the book and never give examples. If a student would ask a
question she would say you?re not dumb you know the answer. The teacher always
put the students down. According to
Compare And Contrast Trump And Clinton
Trump and Clinton The candidates of the 2016 presidential election were an
unlikely match. Donald Trump, a wealthy businessman and Hillary Clinton, a
former first lady were the choices America had to pick from to vote in a new
commander in chief. Trump and Clinton rose to political fame as the 2016 election
progressed and this is a comparison and contrast of their early lives, their political
beliefs, and their passion to improve the United Statesof America. Donald Trumps
early life did not give a hint of him ever becoming interested in politics. Trump was

Attitudes and Beliefs Social esteems allude to persisting standards or conviction
frameworks to which a man or a public is conferred. The benefits of nursing in the
States are, for instance, installed in the estimations of the U.S. American culture
with its accentuation on independence and independence (Davis, 1999). Essential
to the esteem set on independence are the convictions that people can pull
themselves up by their bootstraps and that a person s rights are more critical than a
society s (Davis, 1999). Be that as it may, many societies don t share the power of
the estimation of independence. Consider the true information exhibited by Davis
that around 70% of all societies are collectivistic (i.e., loyalties of a man to a
gathering surpass the privileges of the individual) instead of individualistic (i.e., the
privileges of the individual supersede those of the gathering). With independence,
significance is put on singular data sources, rights and rewards (Andrews, 1999, p.

by a gathering: family, group or potentially society. Associated pharmaceutical or

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of
Electricity...
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
The global electricity sector is now facing major challenges i.e. exponentially
increasing electricity demand, fight against climatic changes and increasing trends
towards massive urbanization. The first challenge of ever mounting demands results
in continuous depletion of traditional power generation sources; these are centralized
power generation like thermal power plants i.e. combustion (coal, oil, natural),
nuclear power plants etc. and are not suited for environmental and cost issues. The
second challenge relates to the regulation of Greenhouse gas emission. These gases
are responsible for increasing the global temperature. Two third of the global
emission are carbon emissions linked to the energy sector. The third major... Show

Reduction in the overall costs.
It becomes easier to find the site for small generators.
Gas turbines, internal combustion engines methods for small generators have been
perfected and are widely practiced and others renewable resources like water, wind
solar energies are also finding wider application in recent years.
Proper allocation and sizing of DG will improve the voltage profile of electrical
power system and reduces losses in the system.
Increased utilization of transmission and distribution network capacity because DG s
units are closer to consumers and this will reduces the stress on transmission system.
Combined heat and power group do not require large and expensive heat networks.
DG s installation time is less and investment risks are also not so high.
If DG s are properly allocated, they will improve system reliability and power quality.

Meiji Reforms Essay
Evaluate the success of the Meiji Reforms in undertaking imperialism in Asia. The
Meiji reforms were significantly successful in undertaking imperialism in Asia.
Imperialism can be understood as expanding a country s power through increasing
one s influence, gaining more territory and controlling the region s economy. For
japan to undertake imperialism in Asia they needed to establish a centralised
government, a strong military, a technologically advanced and unified nation working
together for the same goal. They achieved this by introducing the Meji reforms. From
1868 to 1912, Japan grew from a technologically backwards nation to a world power,
defeating both China and Russia swiftly and decisively. In addition to this, Japan had
succeeded in establishing a parliament, drafting a constitution, developed a strong
legal, financial and economic system, created a strong industry and improved social
welfare and education standards. These improvements and implementations made
Japan internationally recognised and respected as a modernised country. Looking
back, we can identify numerous reasons that led to the success of undertaking
imperialism in Asia through the use of the Meiji reforms. The military reform had a
significant role in undertaking imperialism in Asia. The military reform of Meiji
Japan was focused on establishing a powerful and unified national military under the
ultimate leadership of the emperor. To achieve this, the Meiji government created

History of Hearing Aids Essay
The story of the hearing aid depicts one of the most ridiculous timelines of
technological advancements in all of history. Although we modernly think of a
hearing aid as a small device which is inserted into the ear canal, the reality is that a
hearing aid is an apparatus that amplifies sound and compensates for impaired
hearing. Thus, I invite you to expand your mind, and draw your attention to the
intriguing, and absolutely absurd, timeline of the hearing aid.
The most common model of the ancestral hearing aid is that of the simple ear
trumpet. This was a small, pipe looking device which was carved from either bull s
horn or seashell, and was held up to the ear in order to amplify sound. The audible
result of such would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The royal member would then angle the end of the tube towards their ear, so that
they could better hear the words being spoken without having to be yelled at.
Next we have the classic ear tube which was developed in 1887. Much like the
childhood game of telephone in which the two styrofoam cups were connected
with a piece of string, the ear tube was simply a long hose with a widened opening
at either side. One end was placed to the lips of the speaker, while the other end was
placed close to the ear of the hearing deficient listener. Effective, yet not exactly
attractive to look at...
Finally, in 1901, the first electric hearing aids were designed. Consisting of a
carbon microphone, a processing unit, a battery box, and a headpiece, this hearing
aid served merely as a personalized microphone/amplifier. It was bulky, heavy, and
expensive to buy (at about $400.00 each), but it worked! Thus, its successors
followed the same model, but the goal became a matter of size.
It wasn t until 1953 that a person could wear a hearing aid that would go largely
unnoticed. The Oticon pocket model was an aid that looked very much like an iPod
its components being a small, pocket sized battery and processor, and an earpiece
which look about the same as what we would now call an earbud . This was an
incredible advancement, but the design was not quite finished.

Sexual Risk-Taking Behavior
The first risk factor is contextual factor, such as socioeconomic status and poverty,
family and peer factors. The study showed that the percentage of sexually active
young adolescents is higher in low income areas of inner cities (Morrison Beedy
others, 2013). A recent study revealed that neighborhood poverty concentrations
predicted 15 to 17 year old girls and boys sexual initiation (Cubbin others, 2010).
Children from low income families are more likely to fall into the bad habits because
they are lack of discipline from parents who are busy making a live. The second one
is familyfactors. The family connectedness and parent adolescent communication
about sexuality can predict the sexual outcome. A study shows that sexual risk taking
behavior was more likely to occur in girls living in single parent homes (Hipwell
others, 2011).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third one is the peer and school factors. A recent study found that adolescents
who associated with more deviant peers in early adolescence were likely to have
more sexual partners at age 16 (Lansford others, 2010). It is easier for adolescence
to learn bad behaviors from peers, along with they are at the age with lower self
control. School connectedness and better academic achievement are both protective
factor in keeping adolescence from early sexual initiation. The fourth factors are
cognitive and personality factors. A study showed that the attention problems and
high rates of aggressive disruptive behavior at school entry increased the risk of
multiple problem behaviors in middle school, which in turn was linked to early
initiation of sexual activity (Schofi eld others,
The Mesopotamia And The Nile River Valley
I chose the Mesopotamia and the Nile River Valley. These two civilizations are two
of the most favorable ancient civilizations. Although these civilizations are similar in
many ways, the small, but impacting differences it what makes these two civilizations
stand out the most. The Nile River Valley was located in northern Africa in a country
called Egypt. Mesopotamia was located in modern day Iraq, Iran, Syria, Kuwait, and
parts of Turkey. The origin of Mesopotamia comes from the meaning between two
rivers. The land is between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Defining moments for
human civilizationbegan within these two.
The Nile River is approximately 4,260 miles long. It holds the record for being the
longest river in the world. The Nile was a life source for Egyptians. The fertile land
from the frequent flooding was very beneficial for Egyptians. They began to grow
crops alongside the Nile. Beans, wheat, and cotton were among the crops being
grown. However, the amount of crops grown was limited because the land did not
extend very far. The land good enough to support farming was composed of two thin
strips of land on either side of the river. Farming opened the door to a critical
advancement in human life.
Instead of Egyptians just hunting and gathering food in different locations, they
began to settle down in places permanently. They began to build durable homes
instead of temporary shelters. This caused places to become villages. Villages turned
into towns. Towns
Essay on Tay-Sachs
Tay Sachs
Abstract
Tay Sachs is a disease caused by a mutation to the gene which codes for Hex A.
Without Hex A, a cell cannot degrade GM2 ganglioside into GM3 ganglioside.
This results in a build up of ganglioside s in lysosomes of neurons. The result is
varying degrees of mental deterioration. New DNA based screening is currently
being developed to replace the enzyme based screening techniques that have been
used since 1969. This will not only speed up the diagnosis, but also allow for earlier
detection of Tay Sachs by using the parents genotypes.
Introduction
Tay Sachs disease is one of three autosomal recessive, lysosomal storage disorders,
collectively known as the GM2 gangliosidoses. They result from accumulation of ...

There is also a third protein required for GM2 ganglioside hydrolysis called the

products necessary for GM2 hydrolysis. Tay Sachs disease is caused by mutations in
the HEXA gene which affect the a subunit unique to Hex A. Patients with Tay Sachs

Richard Rodriguez
Growing up, people realize that around the time of reaching a mature state, education
has affected their personal family life in one way or the other. With that being said,
in his essay, The Achievement of Desire , Richard Rodriguez headed towards a path
where he was unconsciously distancing himself from his familyand becoming much
more independent than he had expected. Rodriguez gives the reader a sentimental
idea of the two contrary lives he had growing up, the life he had as a child, and the
life he has as an educated man. He continued believing in his aspiration of how
benefits of education can remarkably outweigh the past struggles of both his family
and himself. Like Rodriguez, I also, in the past, found some form of solitude... Show

to make our conversation seem like more than an interview , but because there was
really nothing else to talk about with my father, I wasn t able to develop a bond or
that father daughter connection with him that families normally have. As school
took up most of my time, my father and I never really had the time to have a heart
to heart conversation to catch up on what s been going on with each other s lives.
Fortunately, my story is not as melancholic as Rodriguez s because my father put an
effort into getting used to the ways and culture of America where he tried to keep at
least some form of relationship with me. Even though we speak in our own language
(he speaking in Bengali and I in English) when communicating with each other, my
father found a way not to alienate himself from his children. As for Rodriguez, it s
quite a depressing story, where he had that passionate relationship with his mother

During the pinnacle of his bittersweet life, Rodriguez eventually realized that he had
sacrificed one of the biggest things in life to do what is best for himself, his family.

Humanity In Caroline Yoachim s Carnival Nine
Humanity is often perceived as the epitome of evolution, God s perfect creation that
is meant to rule above and subjugate and justifiably exploit all other creatures for the
benefit of mankind, should he choose so. These anthropocentric sentiments, in which
human beings are the central entities in the world and are separate from and superior
to nature, is embedded into many philosophies and certainly a part of English
literature. However, in Caroline Yoachim s Carnival Nine, humans are but mere toys
under the whim of an omnipotent maker and have little to no say on their origins or
lifetime. Yoachim s work not only serves as a blunt reminder of the greater forces at
play in the universe that absolutely belittles the idea of anthropocentrism,... Show

Zee feels fulfilled with her life, only that she duly accepts the helpless course of

Antietam Battlefield
The second historical landmark that I went to was the Antietam Battlefield. Located
in Sharpsburg, Maryland, the battle of Antietam was a battle between the Union
and Confederate armies during the Civil War. The battle was fought on September
17, 1862, being called the Bloodiest Day of American History with a total of
roughly 23,000 men killed in battle. The Union army, led by General George
McClellan, defeated the Confederate Army, led by General Robert E. Lee, which is
surprising because while they passed the Potomac River, a piece of paper including
the Union s battle tactics was left behind by one of the Confederate members. The
Union then passed by the same spot weeks later and found this paper, which gave
them the advantage . 5 days... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Battle of Antietam was a monumental win for the Union, and for the elimination
of slavery. The winning of the battle gave the Union a huge advantage over the
Confederate, and this victory pleased President Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln
had been waiting for an appropriate time to release the first edition of the
Emancipation Proclamation, which meant that any and all slaves working in the
Confederacy were to be released. This victory was tragic for the Confederacy
because they lost all their slaves and they were at a severe disadvantage compared
to the Union. Another monumental event that impacted American history is the
moment where the Union soldiers discovered the Confederate s battle tactics. The
tactics paper, called Special Orders 191 written by General Lee, was originally
meant for General D. H. Hill, one of his other army leaders, but thanks to someone s
lack of focus, the plans were left behind and the Union was given the lead in the war.
One prominent place related to the Civil War and American History is Dunker
Church. Dunker Church was a building that resembled peace, love, modesty and
positivity throughout its lifetime. However, the night before the battle, the
Confederate soldiers were stationed around the church. This meant that the Union
would have to attack the church, leaving it battle scarred . Dunker Church was
collateral damage to the war and it s also where both sides agreed to truce with each
other for this
The Importance Of Self Esteem

The Importance of Self Esteem
It is often said that if an individual wishes to succeed in life they must have
confidence. That in order to handle difficult situations it is confidence that will see
them through. But what if that s wrong? What if there was a lesser known, subtly
more powerful force that would allow an individual to succeed and be resilient to
those difficult situations? Often confused with confidence, it is self esteem that is a
powerful mechanism affecting mental well being, resiliency, and physical health.
However, before understanding how self esteem effects humans it is important to
differentiate it from its oft confused cousin: confidence.
In order to understand the importance of self esteem it is necessary to establish a
basis. Both definitions that are hereby given were extracted from the Psychology
Dictionary in order to maintain consistency. Therefore to begin, self confidence is
the varying levels of trust we place in our skills, reasoning, and capacity. For
example: David has high self confidence in his ability to complete the task at hand
though he s never experienced the task before. The example illustrates that David
doesn t need confidence in himself nor in his self image, but in tangible assets of
skill, capacity, and reasoning. If David fails in being able to complete the task then
he knows that his high self confidence was inaccurate and can adjust his trust
regarding that task for

Comparing Upper Body Muscular Endurance On Female...
Purpose:
The purpose of the study was clearly stated in the introduction of the article. The
purpose of the study was to compare upper body muscular endurance in female
university level modern dancers and female students who do not dance, but are
physically active. Studies have shown that dancing put dancers at a high risk of
becoming injured. Modern dancers are at a higher risk of becoming injured than any
other dancers due to the physical demands of upper body movement.
Hypothesis:
The authors stated the hypothesis for their expected outcomes. They believe that
these female university level modern dancers will have more upper body muscular
endurance than non dancers. The only down fall for this study is that the authors
have not found any research to support their hypothesis.
Research Design:
The participants were thirty two females from a college s modern dance program who
had no history of injuries for the previous three months. The authors did not select
these participants; the program recruited them. The non dancers were randomly

The Rise And Fall Of Tiamat
He crouched in a tight fetal position, huddled in a corner of the study. Lysander
shivered with dread, as he sensed a sudden change. Tiamat was dead. He could feel
it. Tiamat had been absent from Murk for nearly two years now. The empress left
with a plan to infiltrate the realm of Murk s most hated enemy: Atlantica. She would
seduce King Triton, seize the mighty Trident, and seek revenge for the many
injustices Murkens had faced at the hands of the Atlanticans. But what had happened?
Had Tiamat failed? Impossible. Empress Tiamat was the most powerful ruler Mruk
had ever seen. Even more powerful than his father Phorcys, she proved, when she
murdered him and usurped the throne. Lysander gasped; he was beginning to
hyperventilate. If Tiamat was

As the Chinese middle class began to emerge, Panasonic started to see the flaws in its
strategy. Local competitors such as
Haier quickly outpaced the Japanese company. Panasonic s growth in China stayed
flat, while the home appliance market in
China grew at 20% to 30% annually.
Around 2000, Panasonic took another series of hits when its Chinese competitors
started to export their low priced products to the United States, Europe, and Southeast
Asia. In 2002, for the first time in its history,
Panasonic recorded an annual loss. Its leaders sensed that if they couldn t establish a
stronger presence in China, the company would risk falling behind in all its markets.
Its executives also realized that to gain an advantage quickly, the company s China
operations needed to make effective use of
Panasonic s Japan based central resources, such as its marketing and R D expertise.
In response, Panasonic carried out a reorganization, streamlining its corporate
structure at home and abroad to bring costs down and address market shifts caused by
greater digitalization and modularization in home appliances. Some 13,000
employees took early retirement,

A Lady of Letters and Cream Cracker under the Settee by Alan Bennett The two
monologues I am going to be writing about are two elderly women who are lonely
and trapped in their own homes. I will be talking about how Doris, one lady from
Cream cracker under the settee and Irene, the other lady in Lady of letters are
suffering from loneliness. Doris and Irene both live alone. They don t seem to have
any special friends. For example, Irene doesn t like being people calling her Irene.
People who come across Irene must call her Miss.Ruddock; nobody has called her
Irene since her mother died. Only real friends may call Miss Ruddock Irene. But

Like when she complained to the council about a curb being cracked, little things
like this are quite amusing to see such an intelligent women making a fuss. Irene
and Doris also have some things in common. They both have lost loved ones in
their lives. This is an important story line in both monologues, as I will explain
later on. The music in these monologues feels the emotions of what the characters
are feeling. When there is a scene where Doris or Irene is happy, the music will go
along with the expressions. I could tell when the topic came up on the loved lost
ones it was a very dramatic time for Irene and Doris. The music drained out the
room with a slow deep beat of a bellow. This makes the monologues more realistic
with the different types and style of music, and with the pauses where no music is
played at all. Cream cracker under the settee and lady of letters are both set in
houses. Which are very stereotypical houses for the elderly, with the dull colours,
except in these houses they have horrible bars on their windows that couldn t make
Doris and Irene feel very comfortable. There are a number of things I could write for
Doris and Irene, imprisonment, lack and loss and the endings of the monologues. But
I have chosen to go in deeply about the loneliness and how it has affected them. I feel
that this topic is one of the main structures of the monologues. IRENE Starting with
Analysis Of What Makes Us Human
While reading through the article of What makes us Human, I learned about things
I never knew about. How many people have actually read about the things that go
on in our brain? I learned about three different genes and their roles in our life.
While one helps us develop our brain from before we are even born, with the
development of it all, to encoding our RNA. HRA1, FOXP2 and ASPM have played
a major role throughout our whole lives without us even knowing.
Evidence shows that chimpanzees are our closest relatives. They nearly have the
same brain as ours, correspondingly the same organization and complexity. The
similarity between our DNA is roughly between 98.5 99.4 percent identical.
Similarity makes it seem to us like the relatedness are among us humans and the

One of the ways used to identify if this was true would be to check the DNA in a

The pitcher is a great position to play because you have to be confident in yourself.
When you are a pitcher you stand on something called a pitching mound. On the

Dengue Fever Personal Statement
I grew up in a family of doctors and engineers so my interests were naturally shaped
around the sciences. However, my dad was the black sheep of the family who
decided to pursue business. I remember listening to his phone calls about product

idea what he was talking about, he gradually pulled my interests into the world of
business. In a way, I could say I had the best of both worlds.
Although I was often told that studying science and business was unfocused and
unnecessarily challenging, I disagreed completely. I was engrossed in dissections, the

Dengue fever is a horrifying yet rather common disease that most Sri Lankans
suffer from at least once in their lifetime. I remember when it was my turn. I was
diagnosed at a time where dengue fever was at a peak high in Sri Lanka and my

admitted due to dengue fever. Although I was fortunate enough to find a room
eventually, I remember passing the children in the hospital hallways who could not

better healthcare that isn t being met? I thought. As I lay in my bed surrounded by
the four white walls of my room, I realized that this was only in Colombo, where
most people had access to healthcare. Imagine the dengue patients in other areas of
Sri Lanka, poverty stricken areas. They did not have access to healthcare in their

Flowers for Algernon Essay: Was Charlie Gordon better off before or after surgery?
Do you choose intelligence over happiness? I don t know what s worse, to not know
what you are and be happy, or to become what you ve always wanted to be, and feel
alone. Writes Charlie Gordon (Keyes 298). In Flowers for Algernon, Charlie Gordon
is a young man who struggles with mental retardation. His dream is to be intelligent
so he can be like the rest of the world. Charlie goes through an experimental surgery
that increases his intelligence. But the consequence of his tripled intelligence is that
Charlie Gordon is not as happy as he was before surgery. Before his surgery,
Charlie was oblivious to his friends being mean to him. After, he realized what
kind of people they really were. Before surgery, Charlie s ignorance hid him from
the true, harsh reality. After surgery, Charlie s ignorance disappeared, making him
realize how fake and disappointing the world can be. Before Charlie s surgery, he
was happy, but felt oblivious to the world surrounding him. After surgery, he was
pleased with his intelligence when it reached its peak. But when Charlie s
intelligence began to deteriorate, he became upset that he couldn t think the way he
could when he was smart. From the reasons stated above, In Flowers for Algernon,
Charlie Gordon is better off before surgery.
Charlie Gordon is better off before surgery because he wasn t aware of his friends

ICO Scam Research Paper
ICO scams are a threat to the burgeoning blockchain technology and everyone that
invests in it. That much we can agree upon, right? It s a tragedy they still exist, and
it looks like they re not going away anytime soon. So, how do you spot these
scams? Just for a moment, let s put ourselves in the mind of a criminal and create
our very own malicious scam. Maybe after that, we will know how to better avoid
them. CREATING AN ICO SCAM: IT S ALL IN THE NAME Alright, the first
step in creating your criminal initial coin offering is a catchy name. Now, that s not
to say all catchy names are subject to your suspicion. However, we re creating a fake
coin here, so like the schemers do, pick something everyone can easily remember.

A fake company will do this also in order to seem a little more legitimate. Don t
just take their word for it; do a little research. If we were building our own
fraudulent company, we would use an employee list full of generic names. That
way, it s hard to Google. Furthermore, they will all have ridiculous, over the top
resumes to blow you away. Hence, if you see a startup with these qualities, odds
are they shouldn t be trusted. CREATING AN ICO SCAM: BUYING A

accounts there. Yes, you can actually buy an account there. Hence, it s easy to fool
someone into thinking you are a respected member of the community and

PYY favorably binds to the neuropeptide Y receptor type 2 (Y2), highly expressed in
the hypothalamus, which is recognized to be an essential for appetite control
(Broberger et al., 2008). In rats, consumption of lactitol, a fermentable carbohydrate,
dramatically augmented postprandial PYY plasma level, and reduced weight gain
compared with control. However, in human, acute supplementation of lactitol was
linked with a significant reduction of postprandial PYY drop at 5 hours and a
trend to decreased appetite (Gee Johnson, 2005). Moreover, following fermentable
carbohydrates supplementation, increased plasma PYY and GLP 1 levels have been

GLP 1 is released after food consumption (Elliott et al., 1993), has been revealed to

Changes Within The Nursing Program
Changes in the Nursing Program
Even though Registered Nurses are in high demand, Victor Valley Community
College instituted a multi screening point assignment to really weed out applicants
that are qualified for the program. According to the American Association of Colleges
of Nursing (AACN), more than 30,000 qualified applicants have been turned away
from nursing education programs every year since 2002 . VVC offers an associate
program, which would normally be two years long. With numerous test implemented
to make sure the student is able to follow through with the program, qualified
individuals are on the waiting list for years.
In 2007, Assembly Bill 1559 was signed; it required Community Colleges and
University to initiate a merit based system. The purpose of the bill was to train more
nurses as the population of nurses is disappearing by the aging population. In the
1990 s a disagreement aroused over merit based Associate Degree Nursing programs.
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education fund threatened a lawsuit for
the students of different ethnicities were being denied into the program (Berryhill).
After negotiations, the Board of Governors prohibited the nursing programs to use
such evaluative systems. The lottery and wait list were instituted and the completion
rates dropped. Community Colleges have high dropout rates and are turning away
qualified applicants (Berryhill). In 2008, VVC requirements to enter the program

that is found in approximately 5% of children and is characterized by disruptive

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM 5;
American Psychiatric Association, 2013) mentions that children with ADHD may
be susceptible to cognitive difficulties. Research has shown that children who
presented problems related to cognition tended to show a greater benefit from
engaging in private speech than those who did not have such difficulties when
completing tasks (Aro et al., 2015), providing a possible explanation for why those
with ADHD are likely to use more private speech. Given the inattentive aspect of
ADHD, research suggests that children with ADHD are likely to use more private
speech than their peers because engaging in private speech is helpful for children
when trying to focus their attention to a task (Aro et al., 2015; Patrick Abravanel,
2000). Also related to issues with attention, Berk Potts (1991) have found in their
research that children with ADHD tend to engage in more forms of private speech
that are meant to help guide themselves through the activity and mediate their
behavior while working on a task. For the most part, private speech in children with
ADHD seems to be used to focus attention and guide behavior to progress towards a
solution to the task (Aro et al., 2015; Berk Potts, 1991; Patrick Abravanel,

More women being employed who are more conscious of eating breakfast in the
morning, passing this down to the children.
COMMENTARY:
In a Mintel report by Ihekweazu (2011) it is found that the number of women in
employment has increased and is set to increase by 1.5% within the next five years,
this is quite an important social change within the external environment. This is due
to the fact that women are more inclined to east breakfast at home, this therefore has
a huge impact on the children within the family as it means theoretically it will be
easier for parents to ensure their child is having breakfast. It also means that they
have more control over what they are eating.
This should theoretically make it easier for parents to ensure that their children have
breakfast at home

connect it with that reading is because Rodriguez has a growth mindset he is
overcoming challenges and doesn t give up, he is less worried if he looks smart or
sounds smart at first he starts off with a fixed mindset then begins to develop a
growth mindset .
One does not forget by trying to forget one only remembers this quote is true to its

Significance And Innovation Of The Proposed Research
Significance and innovation of the proposed research The use and comprehension of
the passive sentence structure is the subject of much debate in the field of
psycholinguistics. There have been many studies conducted addressing the issue of
why passive sentence structures are so underused as compared to active sentence
structures in children. Several studies have tried to show that passive sentence
structures can actually be elicited through structural priming, or more generally
being more exposed to that specific type of sentence. Although plenty of research as
been conducted examining the P600 response in reference to various types of
syntactical anomalies, I could not find one study that was specifically focused on the
priming of passive sentence structures, even though it is said that the P600 should
respond to this specific sentence structure. Therefore, the proposed study will
contribute to the field of psycholinguistics by examining the P600 response of
children using the structural priming paradigm. Based on the results of the study,
the study may also be able to determine if the P600 response could serve as an
adequate neural marker for the effectiveness of passive voicestructural priming.
Study design The proposed study will make use of the structural priming paradigm
used in previous studies (GГЎmez Shimpi, 2015; Vasilyeva, Waterfall, GГ
Ўmez,
GГіmez, Bowers, Shimpi, 2010), as well as the measurement of event related
potentials. Participants are to be randomly
My Proposal For Remote Sensing And Was Wondering If
You...
Hi Dr. Marzenaaaaa:
I have been working on my proposal for remote sensing and was wondering if you
could take a look at it. After feeling a bit shaky about the midterm, I really want to
knock this project out of the park. I know you are really busy, and I appreciate any
direction you can give me.
Hope your weekend went well!
Best,
Mike
Introduction
We live in an age where most environments on earth have been impacted by
anthropogenic activities. Chapin III et al (2001) contend that, humans have been a
natural component of most ecosystems for thousands of years (p. 14). Humans
interact with the environment in many ways: landscape modification, agricultural
activities, urbanization, urban sprawl, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, stormwater
runoff, and so forth; these anthropogenic activities can have detrimental
environmental results. Satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and digital data can be
used to analyze how anthropogenic activities impact environments spatially and
temporally. This study will investigate how land cover has changed in the D Olive
Creek Watershed, located in Baldwin County, Alabama via the use of geographic
information systems (GIS) and remote sensing methods and technology. For the
purpose of this study, land cover refers to how much of a region is covered by
specified land and water types (e.g. forests, wetlands, impervious surfaces, and so
forth).
Human environmental interaction contributes to processes that affect fluvial
environments. Indeed,
Comparison of Online and Offline Retail Environment of
Car...
The offline retail environment of the automobile industry is that of manufacture to
intermediary to consumer. The process from which the product (car) proceeds from
manufacturer to consumer is that of through the automobile dealer. This intermediary
batch purchases a number of models from the manufacturer and sells them from the
lot or storefront. This placement and presentation of the product has proved largely
successful. The tangible product is viewed, test driven and purchased from the
intermediary. An advantage of the offline retail environment is that of the face to face
(F2F) transaction environment. The purchase of a car requires high involvement
between the supplier and consumer and can be argued demands a customer... Show

Rather than solely online companies, who may only offer ghost storefronts with no
inventory and little reputation to defend. (Pitta, Franzak Fowler 2006) Value
creation has been described as the difference between the amount that the
consumer is willing to pay for a product and the costs of providing the product.
Value can also be added to the product through outside or support (Porter, 1985)
activities such as brand awareness, speed of delivery, after sales service. Resource
Based View (RBV) theorists argue that information technology (IT) resources can
be used today in an online environment to enable a firm to improve efficiency
regardless of whether mimicked by competitors, or may yield performance
impacts unique to a firm relative to its competitors. (Melville, Kraemer Gurbaxani
2004) A major factor in RBV and enhancing value creation better than a company s
competitors is that of competitive heterogeneity. This refers to enduring and
systematic performance differences among relatively close rivals. (Hoopes,
Madsen Walker, 2003) Resources are the tangible and intangible assets of a firm
that can be used in the value creation process and the RBV consists of six
conditions necessary for a firm to confer a sustainable competitive advantage
(Melville, Kraemer Gurbaxani 2004) and are as follows. A valuable resource can be
tangible and intangible; it is a
Bob Marley Essay
Bob Marley
Of the many genres of music, reggae is one that displays a positive message to its
listeners. A prominent artist who clearly expressed this was Robert Nesta Marley,
more commonly known as Bob Marley. Marley connected with his audience on a
variety of levels. While he worked to unite the people of his country, Jamaica, he
proclaimed his message across the world. Bob Marley persuades his audience to
accept the message of ethnic unity through his message presentation, social
interactions, lifestyle and musical lyrics.
Bob Marley was born in Nine Miles, St. Ann, Jamaica. As a youngster he moved to
Trench town with his mother where his music career was born. Growing up, Marley
grew close to other children his age who shared ... Show more content on

In Jamaica, Marley could voice the feelings and opinions of his fellow citizens,
who were delusional with the failures of independence and the breakdown of local
politics. The role of music in Jamaica contributed to Marley?s music. It helped play
an important role in giving voice and communicating with an increasingly
important political class in the evolving country. Undoubtedly, he was favored by
both sides of the politic battle in Jamaica and with many other nations around the
world. Marley avoided direct involvement in politics, because the Rastafarian
people believe that activities like that were essentially invalid manifestations of the
work of higher government authorities against which they believed. One of the
original reasons behind Bob Marley?s emergence as a leader within post
independent Jamaica was simple: the complete failure of the country?s political
leaders to represent the needs of the black lower classes in the years before and
after their independence. By staying away from the malevolent competitive battles
of the actual and possible political leaders, he could attract a group of followers that
others could not amass. ?As former Jamaican prime minister Michael Manley has
noted, ?Marley took what was a subculture in Jamaica and elevated it to a dominant
culture?[He] took a folk art and he elevated it into a universal language of
communication.? Perhaps the expansion of black culture was even more important
than political

Essay On How I Spent My Summer Holidays. How i spent my summer holidays essay. How I Spent My Summer Vacation ...

  • 1. Essay On How I Spent My Summer Holidays Crafting an essay on the subject of my summer holiday experiences presents a unique challenge. It's not merely about recounting events but capturing the essence of those moments in a way that engages the reader. The difficulty lies in striking a balance between personal reflection and universal appeal. Too much focus on personal details risks alienating the audience, while too little leaves the narrative feeling hollow and disconnected. Moreover, the task involves not just narrating events chronologically but weaving them into a cohesive story with a clear beginning, middle, and end. This requires careful planning and organization to ensure that each anecdote contributes to the overarching theme or message of the essay. Additionally, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and clichГ©d descriptions. It's easy to fall into the trap of using overly sentimental language or relying on tired tropes to convey emotions. Instead, the essay must strive for authenticity and originality, offering insights and reflections that resonate with the reader on a deeper level. Furthermore, there's the pressure to stand out among countless other essays on similar topics. With so many students tasked with recounting their summer experiences, it becomes essential to find a unique angle or perspective that sets the essay apart from the rest. In conclusion, crafting an essay on how I spent my summer holidays is no simple feat. It demands skillful storytelling, thoughtful reflection, and a creative approach to avoid clichГ©s and captivate the reader's attention. It's a task that requires time, effort, and careful consideration to execute effectively. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. • 2. Delta and The Future of The Airline Industry Essay IV.The Future of the Airline Industry The Airline Industry is in an interesting situation. Simply adding a low cost alternative is not enough in the industry. The Internet has made the power of buyers grow with the transparency of ticket prices. This is not something that will change any time soon. Because of this profitability is predominately reserved for low cost yet distinctive carriers. No consumer wants to ride what they consider a lesser airline. Airlines need a way to distinguish themselves from one another while also acknowledging the increased power of buyers. The future of the industry is in JetBlue s cheap chic style. Airlines need to maintain a cost effective price point while also not appearing cheap. Small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With an industry leading global network, Delta and the Delta Connection carriers offer service to 356 destinations in 65 countries on six continents. (Delta.com). The result of this objective is the third largest commercial carrier in the world, having a strong presence in major hubs such as Atlanta, Dallas, Cincinnati, and Salt Lake City (Rivkin 8). As with all airlines, Delta s recent performance has been significantly impacted by industry shifts and external events. Terrorist attacks and escalating costs have significantly impacted Delta s profitability in recent history (Rivkin 4). The company has also been losing valuable market share to the low cost carrier Southwest Airlines throughout the southeast and specifically in the lucrative Florida market (Rivkin 8). JetBlue also began encroaching on key Delta routes, and this seems only likely to increase (Rivkin 9). Despite this, Delta has still performed better than any other legacy carrier (Rivkin 8). Still, recent history has brought several changes to this legacy carrier, and the company has turned its attention towards new competitive strategies. With independence, significance is put on singular data sources, rights and rewards (Andrews, 1999, p. 476). CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION The global electricity sector is now facing major challenges i.e. exponentially increasing electricity demand, fight against climatic changes and increasing trends towards massive urbanization. The first challenge of ever mounting demands results in continuous depletion of traditional power generation sources; these are centralized power generation like thermal power plants i.e. combustion (coal, oil, natural), nuclear power plants etc. and are not suited for environmental and cost issues. • 7. Meiji Reforms Essay Evaluate the success of the Meiji Reforms in undertaking imperialism in Asia. The Meiji reforms were significantly successful in undertaking imperialism in Asia. Imperialism can be understood as expanding a country s power through increasing one s influence, gaining more territory and controlling the region s economy. For japan to undertake imperialism in Asia they needed to establish a centralised government, a strong military, a technologically advanced and unified nation working together for the same goal. They achieved this by introducing the Meji reforms. From 1868 to 1912, Japan grew from a technologically backwards nation to a world power, defeating both China and Russia swiftly and decisively. In addition to this, Japan had succeeded in establishing a parliament, drafting a constitution, developed a strong legal, financial and economic system, created a strong industry and improved social welfare and education standards. These improvements and implementations made Japan internationally recognised and respected as a modernised country. Looking back, we can identify numerous reasons that led to the success of undertaking imperialism in Asia through the use of the Meiji reforms. The military reform had a significant role in undertaking imperialism in Asia. The military reform of Meiji Japan was focused on establishing a powerful and unified national military under the ultimate leadership of the emperor. To achieve this, the Meiji government created equality among

  • 9. History of Hearing Aids Essay The story of the hearing aid depicts one of the most ridiculous timelines of technological advancements in all of history. Although we modernly think of a hearing aid as a small device which is inserted into the ear canal, the reality is that a hearing aid is an apparatus that amplifies sound and compensates for impaired hearing. Thus, I invite you to expand your mind, and draw your attention to the intriguing, and absolutely absurd, timeline of the hearing aid. The most common model of the ancestral hearing aid is that of the simple ear trumpet. This was a small, pipe looking device which was carved from either bull s horn or seashell, and was held up to the ear in order to amplify sound. The audible result of such would ... Next we have the classic ear tube which was developed in 1887. Much like the childhood game of telephone in which the two styrofoam cups were connected with a piece of string, the ear tube was simply a long hose with a widened opening at either side. One end was placed to the lips of the speaker, while the other end was placed close to the ear of the hearing deficient listener. Effective, yet not exactly attractive to look at... Finally, in 1901, the first electric hearing aids were designed. Consisting of a carbon microphone, a processing unit, a battery box, and a headpiece, this hearing aid served merely as a personalized microphone/amplifier. It was bulky, heavy, and expensive to buy (at about $400.00 each), but it worked! Thus, its successors followed the same model, but the goal became a matter of size. It wasn t until 1953 that a person could wear a hearing aid that would go largely unnoticed. The Oticon pocket model was an aid that looked very much like an iPod its components being a small, pocket sized battery and processor, and an earpiece which look about the same as what we would now call an earbud . This was an incredible advancement, but the design was not quite finished. With transistors becoming smaller

A recent study revealed that neighborhood poverty concentrations predicted 15 to 17 year old girls and boys sexual initiation (Cubbin others, 2010). Children from low income families are more likely to fall into the bad habits because they are lack of discipline from parents who are busy making a live. The second one is familyfactors. School connectedness and better academic achievement are both protective factor in keeping adolescence from early sexual initiation. The fourth factors are cognitive and personality factors. A study showed that the attention problems and high rates of aggressive disruptive behavior at school entry increased the risk of multiple problem behaviors in middle school, which in turn was linked to early initiation of sexual activity (Schofi eld others,

Although these civilizations are similar in many ways, the small, but impacting differences it what makes these two civilizations stand out the most. The Nile River Valley was located in northern Africa in a country called Egypt. Mesopotamia was located in modern day Iraq, Iran, Syria, Kuwait, and parts of Turkey. The origin of Mesopotamia comes from the meaning between two rivers. The land is between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Defining moments for human civilizationbegan within these two. The Nile River is approximately 4,260 miles long. It holds the record for being the longest river in the world. The Nile was a life source for Egyptians. The fertile land from the frequent flooding was very beneficial for Egyptians. They began to grow crops alongside the Nile. Beans, wheat, and cotton were among the crops being grown. However, the amount of crops grown was limited because the land did not extend very far. The land good enough to support farming was composed of two thin strips of land on either side of the river. Farming opened the door to a critical advancement in human life. Instead of Egyptians just hunting and gathering food in different locations, they began to settle down in places permanently. They began to build durable homes instead of temporary shelters. This caused places to become villages. Villages turned into towns. Towns

This results in a build up of ganglioside s in lysosomes of neurons. The result is varying degrees of mental deterioration. New DNA based screening is currently being developed to replace the enzyme based screening techniques that have been used since 1969. The Battle of Antietam was a monumental win for the Union, and for the elimination of slavery. The winning of the battle gave the Union a huge advantage over the Confederate, and this victory pleased President Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln had been waiting for an appropriate time to release the first edition of the Emancipation Proclamation, which meant that any and all slaves working in the Confederacy were to be released. This victory was tragic for the Confederacy because they lost all their slaves and they were at a severe disadvantage compared to the Union. Another monumental event that impacted American history is the moment where the Union soldiers discovered the Confederate s battle tactics. The tactics paper, called Special Orders 191 written by General Lee, was originally meant for General D. H. The Importance Of Self Esteem Amy Sanborn Professor Matthew Mills BU 110 25 October 2016 The Importance of Self Esteem It is often said that if an individual wishes to succeed in life they must have confidence. That in order to handle difficult situations it is confidence that will see them through. But what if that s wrong? What if there was a lesser known, subtly more powerful force that would allow an individual to succeed and be resilient to those difficult situations? Often confused with confidence, it is self esteem that is a powerful mechanism affecting mental well being, resiliency, and physical health. However, before understanding how self esteem effects humans it is important to differentiate it from its oft confused cousin: confidence. In order to understand the importance of self esteem it is necessary to establish a basis. Both definitions that are hereby given were extracted from the Psychology Dictionary in order to maintain consistency. Therefore to begin, self confidence is the varying levels of trust we place in our skills, reasoning, and capacity. For example: David has high self confidence in his ability to complete the task at hand though he s never experienced the task before. The example illustrates that David doesn t need confidence in himself nor in his self image, but in tangible assets of skill, capacity, and reasoning. If David fails in being able to complete the task then he knows that his high self confidence was inaccurate and can adjust his trust regarding that task for

Modern dancers are at a higher risk of becoming injured than any other dancers due to the physical demands of upper body movement. I could tell when the topic came up on the loved lost ones it was a very dramatic time for Irene and Doris. The music drained out the room with a slow deep beat of a bellow. This makes the monologues more realistic with the different types and style of music, and with the pauses where no music is played at all. Cream cracker under the settee and lady of letters are both set in houses. Which are very stereotypical houses for the elderly, with the dull colours, except in these houses they have horrible bars on their windows that couldn t make Doris and Irene feel very comfortable. There are a number of things I could write for Doris and Irene, imprisonment, lack and loss and the endings of the monologues. But I have chosen to go in deeply about the loneliness and how it has affected them. I feel that this topic is one of the main structures of the monologues. IRENE Starting with

Research has shown that children who presented problems related to cognition tended to show a greater benefit from engaging in private speech than those who did not have such difficulties when completing tasks (Aro et al., 2015), providing a possible explanation for why those with ADHD are likely to use more private speech. Given the inattentive aspect of ADHD, research suggests that children with ADHD are likely to use more private speech than their peers because engaging in private speech is helpful for children when trying to focus their attention to a task (Aro et al., 2015; Patrick Abravanel, 2000). Also related to issues with attention, Berk Potts (1991) have found in their research that children with ADHD tend to engage in more forms of private speech that are meant to help guide themselves through the activity and mediate their behavior while working on a task. • 41. Significance And Innovation Of The Proposed Research Significance and innovation of the proposed research The use and comprehension of the passive sentence structure is the subject of much debate in the field of psycholinguistics. There have been many studies conducted addressing the issue of why passive sentence structures are so underused as compared to active sentence structures in children. Several studies have tried to show that passive sentence structures can actually be elicited through structural priming, or more generally being more exposed to that specific type of sentence. Although plenty of research as been conducted examining the P600 response in reference to various types of syntactical anomalies, I could not find one study that was specifically focused on the priming of passive sentence structures, even though it is said that the P600 should respond to this specific sentence structure. Therefore, the proposed study will contribute to the field of psycholinguistics by examining the P600 response of children using the structural priming paradigm. Based on the results of the study, the study may also be able to determine if the P600 response could serve as an adequate neural marker for the effectiveness of passive voicestructural priming. After feeling a bit shaky about the midterm, I really want to knock this project out of the park. I know you are really busy, and I appreciate any direction you can give me. Hope your weekend went well! Best, Mike Introduction We live in an age where most environments on earth have been impacted by anthropogenic activities. Chapin III et al (2001) contend that, humans have been a natural component of most ecosystems for thousands of years (p. 14). Humans interact with the environment in many ways: landscape modification, agricultural activities, urbanization, urban sprawl, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, stormwater runoff, and so forth; these anthropogenic activities can have detrimental environmental results. Satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and digital data can be used to analyze how anthropogenic activities impact environments spatially and temporally. This study will investigate how land cover has changed in the D Olive Creek Watershed, located in Baldwin County, Alabama via the use of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing methods and technology. For the purpose of this study, land cover refers to how much of a region is covered by specified land and water types (e.g. forests, wetlands, impervious surfaces, and so forth). Human environmental interaction contributes to processes that affect fluvial environments. Indeed,

Value can also be added to the product through outside or support (Porter, 1985) activities such as brand awareness, speed of delivery, after sales service. Resource Based View (RBV) theorists argue that information technology (IT) resources can be used today in an online environment to enable a firm to improve efficiency regardless of whether mimicked by competitors, or may yield performance impacts unique to a firm relative to its competitors.
