2. Compare Donald Trump And Hillary Clinton

Presidential Election Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two opposite electoral
candidates. Donald Trump is a democrat and Hillary Clinton is a republican. In this
paper I will be discussing Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton s views on crime
/justice and health care. These two candidates have opposite opinions on each of
these topics. Hillary Diane Rodham was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago,
Illinois. She was eldest daughter of Hugh Rodham and Dorothy Emma Howell
Rodham. In 1971, she first came to Washington D.C to work with the U.S Senator
Walter Mondale s sub committee on migrant workers. In the spring of 1947 Clinton
became a member of the presidential impeachment inquiry staff, ... Show more

Clinton mentions Donald Trump not caring about women s health at all. Hillary
Clinton discussed her position about fetus s having constitutional rights the unborn
person does not have constitutional rights. Clinton feels like it is an assault on
women s health, she states, abortion is like the morning after pill for unintended
pregnancies. She also says that abortion is a tragic decision made by many
women. The fact is, the best way to reduce the murder is to reduce the number of
unwanted pregnancies in the first place. The unborn victims of violence act of
2004, which recognized an unborn child as a legal victim and made it a crime to
commit an act of violence against an unborn child. It became a law on April 1, 2004.
3. The Fall Of The House Of Usher Literature Analysis
Literature can be defined as written works, especially those considered of superior or
lasting artistic value. In the short story, The Fall of the House of Usher written by
Edgar Allen Poe, Usher is a senile middle aged man who invites an old friend to his
gothic mansion. While arriving the narrator notices mysterious events beginning to
happen. Also, in House Taken Over written by Julio Cortazar, siblings find
themselves in post WWII Argentina trying to avoid a dangerous entity manifesting
and taking over their house. Gothic Style uses the power of suggestion and
implication when depicting the supernatural, whereas Magical Realism arouses fear
and concern in its audience by including supernatural events in modern society. The

In magical realism the addition of supernatural is a critical role in fulfilling the
purpose of alluding to a more frightening and possible event. Gothic literature is a
style which is very present in Edgar Allen Poe s The Fall of the House of Usher . In
Poe s short story, the narrator is the one to figure out/ imply that these twins are
telepathic. Usher locks up his twin sister and claims to here her cries for help louder
and sooner than the narrator, suggesting their hidden powers (Poe, 29). By suggesting
Usher and his sisters spiritual unity, aspects of Gothic literature are emphasized,
providing evidence for the story to fall under the category of Gothic literature.
Through analyzing House Taken Over , it can be said that the short story is an
example of magical realism. Although not directly stated what, siblings are being
haunted by a supernatural force in the time of late WWII, this haunting is dangerous
and causes siblings to abandon their once cherished house (Cortazar, 42). The fact
that the story takes place in 1946 Argentina right after WWII drives the assumption
that these events may have taken place, a common understanding in magical realism.
The purpose of addition of the supernatural in both styles is used to entertain the
reader and/ or to add some sort of meaning to the text. In gothic text it is meant to
allow the reader to delve into their own dark and mysterious thoughts.
4. Supreme Conflict Chapter Summary
In Supreme Conflict, Jan Crawford Greenburg provides insightful analysis and
assessment of the politics surrounding the Supreme Court appointment process of
Justices during the Rehnquist Court. Despite having seven conservative nominees the
Rehnquist Court was deeply disappointing to those conservatives hoping to reverse
decades of progressive rulings on key social issues. Throughout the book Greenburg
describes both positive and negative appointments and nominations such as Anthony
KennedyClarence Thomas, and David Souter. Greenburg also includes some
background on the impact the Warren and Berger Courts had on the Rehnquist and
later Roberts Courts.
Greenburg based a large part of this book on more than one hundred interviews, most

Thomas became in many ways an opposite to the first female Justice Sandra Day O
Connor, nominated by Reagan because of urging of the court to rethink vast areas
of the law while O Connor wanted to decide cases narrowly, one by one . (pg.123
124). O Connor pulled further also typically wrote a separate opinion of her own
and refused to join Thomas even when they were on the same side of a decision.
The above facts and details of appointments serve as great strengths for Greenburg,
but there are also weaknesses she failed to touch on and include in this book.
Greenburg fails to consider how the same scare tactic rhetoric used by democratic and
liberal senators nearly every time a conservative justice is nominated as well she only
glances and summarizes the events of Thomas confirmation hearing and the
attempted filibuster of Samuel Alito s nomination. These accounts would have
provided more information and context for the book to give a more well rounded
account of these appointments
While there are some weaknesses in Greenburg account of these justice s nominations
and appointments, she provides detailed accounts of the events of the notations
processes. These accounts explain why the Rehnquist Court, despite having seven
conservative nominees the Rehnquist Court was deeply disappointing to those
conservatives hoping to reverse decades of progressive
5. Youth Gangs
Youth participation in gangs actually decreased from 1996 to 2004, but the violence
within these gangs has not. Homicides committed by youth gang members still
remain as a monumental problem across the United States of America. The Office of
Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention reported in its 2004 survey of youth
gangs that there were an estimated 760,000 gangmembers that year. Many of the
kids affiliated with gangs come from lower income, single parent homes; therefore,
the youths of America often turn to gangs to fill the void of not being part of a
family . To combat this problem and save our youth from a life of malfeasance, the
people of the communities of America must take a stand against the negative
influences that impact these youths.
Violence within Youth Gangs of America
The term gang can be associated with a number of different things but, for this
paper, the term gangs will be in reference to youth gangs; youth gangs are
considered to consist of adolescents and young adults from the ages of 12 to 24
(Decker and Howell, 1999, p.1). Gangs have been a normal part of United States
culture for centuries now, a sad but also, very true statement. What started out as a
group of friends wearing their favorite color and protecting their neighborhood from
crime has turned into a problem of epic proportion across the United States of
America. In earlier years gangs were only a problem for poor communities within the
big cities. But during this day and age,
6. Message Complexity Paper
Messages How does one determine the meaning of the world around them? It is not
all that simple. Messages are delivered via symbols amongst other factors such as
speech, written documents, etc. They help an individual assign meaning to the
society around them. With that, a message can mean multiple things depending on
the listeners and how it is conveyed. In my case, as a Communicationmajor, I have
learned about messages via speechgiving, readings from Communication textbooks,
and in class notes. My public speaking course (Speech 105), is probably the class,
within my major, that taught me the most about delivering messages. For instance, in
the class, the first speech assigned was an impromptu speech. The other students and

I could stop watching a television show about astronomy and physics, for the
reason that I find it too complex. Even so, outside of the astronomy case, many
complex messages can be made simpler. This is true of a multitude of day to day
interactions. Depending on a person s words, gestures, etc., a whole message can be
altered drastically and made up of many layers. The layering of messages is a concept
that was talked about in this Sophomore Seminar class (Communication 295). Much
like an onion, messages can have a multitude of layers. Listeners and/or receivers,
depending on the method the message is delivered in, may interpret a message
differently. Interpretation may even depend on combining multiple meanings to
construct a final connotation. Furthermore, the way one understands a message,
depends mostly on the way the message is received to begin
7. Pros And Cons Of Elgin Marbles
Based on your course study and the summary found at About.com European History
...what is your opinion? Should the Elgin Marbles stay in Britain or be returned to
Greece? There is a debate between the modern Britain and Greece about the Elgin
Marbles. These Marbles are pieces of stone that were removed from the Ancient
Greek Parthenon, during the nineteenth century by Thomas Bruce, Seventh Lord
Elgin. They are now located in the British Museum. Therefore, the Greece
government demands for their Elgin Marblesor the Parthenon Sculptures to be send
back to their rightful home, Greece. In the modern days the argument has arisen
about weather or not they should return the Elgin Marbles to Greece? In my opinion,
I think that it should remain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, I think it is best for this art to be distributed or be kept in Britain, so it
can educate people about the culture of Greece. This way, we can see the
phenomenal of other cultures in a short distance instead of traveling to that region.
For example, Cyrus Cylinder or Cyrus Charter is a piece from the old Persian
Achaemenid which is in a British museum. Many Iranians people want this piece
to return back to Iran; however, I personally am against this movement, because I
know if this piece returns to Iran it might not be taken care of in a proper way at
this time of a day (this might not be true in the near future). By not having this piece
of art in Iran just like the Elgin Marbles not being in Greece, many people have a
chance of learning about the historical aspects of these ancient arts by a near
experience, by visiting the museum in Britain. Another reason that I think Britain
should keep the Marbles is that by moving them to Britain, the Marbles were saved
from getting ruined. In my opinion, Lord Elgin had good intentions by sending the
Marbles to Britain, because they were already extensively damaged and was entirely
neglected, as the Parthenon was in the hands of the Ottomans. Which in conclusion,

8. Abuse Power In The Crucible
Another lesson I learned from reading The Crucible, is to not abuse power.
Abusing power is using power to an advantage in a bad way. Good leaders use their
power to influence people in a positive way, while bad leaders use their power
mainly for personal benefits. In the play, many of the characters with power
abused it. They took complete control of situations influencing other characters to
do bad things. One character from the book that abuses his power is Judge
Danforth. Danforth ran all the trials for the witches , and was completely unfair.
He made it basically impossible for an accused witch to be innocent. He also didn t
allow suspects to have lawyers or anyone give information that disagreed with him.
He considered different opinions as contempt of court . When Mr. Nurse was
clashing with Danforth over the issue, Danforth said, do you know who I am, Mr.
Nurse? (Act lll, Scene l) This shows that Danforth has the cocky mindset that he is
above everyone. Good leaders should be able to listen to critics. Danforth believed
that everyone accused was a witch; so he didn t even bother giving them a fair
chance. Many people died under his signature. He used his power to contribute to
the destruction of the town and many lives. Another example from the book deals
with the ringleader of the group of girls caught in the woods; Abigail Williams.
Abigail happened to be the leader of the group, and was completely evil. Abigail was
able to influence a whole group of girls to
9. Judges 11 30-31 Analysis
After reading Judges 11:29 40 and Judges 19, women are being portrayed as
objects designed to be used only once and then abandoned. The fact that the
strangers lives are worth more than of their own daughters/wives also makes them
objects of hospitality. The friendliness, and entertainment of guests, visitors or
strangers is far more important because women have always been seen as inferior
to men and are therefore seen as objects. As we read the stories, there is no real
sympathy shown in the tone. It just tells the story of these two woman without really
focusing on them. We are not to be impressed by the native men s desire to protect
the strangers, even at the expensive of their daughters/wives, because over the course
of the years we can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a way, it can be seen as an objective tone, an unbiased view. We can say that the
objective of these two stories are to show how one has to have faith in the Lord,
after seeing how Jephthah failed to so, and how it is probably better to wait and
think before doing something, after seeing how the Concubine s husband failed to
do so. With this, one can say that the tone is objective because it lacks sympathy
towards the women, being able to leave personal judgements aside. We are not to
be impressed by the native men s desire to protect the strangers, even at the
expense of their daughters/wives because we can see how women have been taken
advantage of, over the course of the years. As we can see in Every Two
Minutes:Battered Women and Feminist Interpretation, that All day long, everyday,
women are verbally intimidated, battered, injured, and killed by the men they live
with (Thistlethwaite 96) We are not to be impressed by the native men s desire to
protect the strangers, even over the expense of their own daughters/wives because
they have always been seeing as inferior to men and from Judges 11:29 40 and
Judges 19 we can see how women are portrayed as objects. They are portrayed as
objects of hospitality and as expendable. Both women were used and later abandoned.
Just like Trible said Indeed, They are tales of terror with women as victims...an

Recently, it has been said that an eighth continent has formed, but this is no ordinary
landmass, instead it is made entirely out of manmade trash. In the Pacific Ocean,
between the coast of California and the Hawaiian Islands, lies a so called patch of
waste, mainly consisting of plastic (Transoceanic Trash). It is called the Great Pacific
Garbage Patch, also known as the Pacific Trash Vortex. The patch extends over a vast
area in the North Pacific Ocean, its true size today is still considered undetermined
because it estimates vary greatly, no estimates are exact due to the changing wind
and ocean currents, as well as the growing volume of debris (Great Pacific Garbage

These plastic bits are so small it is almost impossible for fish and other marine life
to distinguish them between plankton, which many fish and other larger animals
such as whales eat (Great Pacific Garbage Patch). Many animals are consuming
this trash ultimately leading to their death. For example loggerhead sea turtles it is
common for them to mistake plastic grocery bags as their favorite food, which is
jellyfish (Great Pacific Garbage Patch). Many other larger mammals and water
birds have been strangled in plastic rings that holds canned drinks together (Great
Pacific Garbage Patch). Many birds will commonly fly over the Pacific Garbage
Patch, including the albatross, and unfortunately many mistake the garbage as food
(The Great Pacific Garbage). A shocking number of 200,000 to 500,000 chicks that
were born died, many of them having trash in their stomachs, not only plastics but
also bottle caps and various items were found (The Great Pacific Garbage). It has
been predicted that about 100,000 marine mammals will die from trash related
deaths per year, many pieces of plastic and garbage has been found in deceased
animals digestive systems (Great Pacific Garbage Patch). Rusty Brainard, working for

previous years and it continues to see this growth in the future years. Globalisation
has played a major role in all walks of life including business. Due to globalisation
there are more and more players emerging in the market which has resulted in the
globe becoming smaller and smaller, when it comes to business. The competition in
the worldwide market is really intense which asks for the companies to be way
better than their competitors. The companies in today s world really have to fight it
out really hard to have a good standing in the market against their competitors. They
should always work towards retaining their customers or else their customers will
change their preferences which will in turn result in the company losing their market
share and the competitive edge. The companies should always come up with some
good strategies to stay on par with their
12. Mass Production Of Unhealthy And Non Nutritional Foods
Speeches, articles, newscasts, billboards, and t.v. shows all tell us to Feed our
growing population! Which, this statement is very true, there are starving people all
over America, and the rest of the world, butch at we put in our bodies is what matters
most. When there is a greater demand on food, there is mass production of unhealthy
and non nutritional foods, made with added chemicals, sugars, artificial flavors, and
fructose. We live in a day where flavored food rules over nourishing foods.
In our country, we have been faced with growing health issues and problems. Some
of the problems that we have been facing include: high blood pressure, diabetes,
heart disease, cancer, and obesity. A big question that most people have is Where
do these health issues come from? Its simple, have you ever heard the saying, You
are what you eat? Well basically that is true. Most food industries had decided to
cut out fat in foods so that it wouldn t be fattening. Well, when you take out the fat
in foods, it doesn t taste very good. So in order to keep the sweet flavor in foods,
other harmful chemicals and artificial flavoring and sweeteners have been added to
foods so that people will continue to buy their products. The food industry in the
U.S. in 2014 is worth approximately $5.27 trillion dollars and is on the rise towards
$6 trillion dollars. According to the USDA s Center for NutritionPolicy and
Promotion, the average expenditure for a low cost meal plan for a
13. Prescription Medication
In taking any medication there are always positives and negative side effects.
Overprescribing medication and over diagnosing different disease in children has
caused these effects to become increasingly prevent in society today. An increasing
number of children and teenagers are being prescribed drugs as a quick fix rather
than treating the root problem. For example, in Nicholas DuPerret s case his
parents opted not to put him on medication, seeing it as just a quick fix that did not
treat what was wrong with their son in the long run. Meanwhile, Noelle Demo was
put on medication and her grades increased while her aggressive behavior
decreased; this was seen as a godsend by her parents. However, doctors sometimes
use medication to treat the symptoms of an illness rather than treating the root cause
of it. This could be why doctors a prescribing more and more medications to children.

Often, after being on a medication for so long, people can become dependent on
them later in life and not know how to function properly without them. For
example, a person that is prescribed Adderall may become dependent on it to focus
and stay awake in school or work and without it their productivity and motivation
levels may plummet. This could potentially be part of the reason why we see so
much of an abuse of it in schools and high stress work environments; people are
reliant on it and feel they need it to remain competitive. Prolonged use of certain
medications can lead to the development of other illness in not only children but
adults as well. Certain medications are hard for your body to filter and can cause
organ damage; such as liver damage. In addition, some behavioral modification
medicines can cause increases or decreases in body weight. In extreme cases it can
lead to obesity or the development of an eating disorder that can form lifelong eating
14. Opec And The Oil Field
Before really understanding OPEC and the oil field, it is important to understand
how they both began and what is currently occurring in the oil market. The
production of oil has been around since the mid 1800 s here in the United States.
In the late 1850 s, the first drilling rig made specifically for oil drilling was created
by George Bissel and Edwin L. Drake. It was named the Drake well. Keep in mind
that although this was the first oil drilling rig made, this is not the first time that
someone had hit oil while drilling. In the other instances, the persons drilling were
in search of salt or drinking water, and hit oil pockets as a side effect. After this
significant event in history, the oil field has experienced many ups and... Show more

It was founded by Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia. Its sole purpose
is to enact policies that set production limits for its member countries. Its goal is to
maintain order among the countries. This would create fair prices for all of those
countries who produce oil, as well as a steady supply to those countries who consume
the oil. OPEC does not have complete control over the price of oil as the actual
market influences that also (OPEC Fast Facts). These policies, production cuts and
production increases also rely on the honor system between the countries. When
production quotas are set, the countries all agree to abide by those quotas. If one
country does not abide by the rules, there are no penalties that the country could face.
On the other hand, countries will not produce very much over the quota in fear of
being banned from OPEC.
In the 1960 s, OPEC came into existence with the five original founding members. By
the end of this decade, it had grown to ten members, which now included Qutar,
Indonesia, Libya, United Arab Emirates and Algeria. By the 1970 s OPEC s power
and influence over the price of oil had grown immensely. It was at this time since
OPEC had been in effect that we had really observed an increase in the price of oil
per barrel. In 1973, the Yom Kippur War occurred against Israel, led by Egypt and
Syria, which were part of the Arabian countries. The Arab s struck back and enacted
an embargo against any country who
15. Nfl Performance Essay
A study led by Berry (2005) observed the place kicks for the 1998 NFL season. He
considered the kick taker, the distance of the kick being taken, the result of the take
kick and the accuracy of the kick in measuring goal scoring abilities. Furthermore,
Berry mentioned in his study that the NFL presently only rank the kick takers by
their successful percentage of kicks taken rather than an overall measure of their
kicking performance which should include the distance of the kick. If we look at the
parameters included and the parameters excluded there is a potential difference to the
accuracy measurement of Berry s goal kicking model. He himself stated that he
excluded the wind, rain, snow and blocked kicks. Another study conducted in the

For example, results from a study set out by Csatalijay et al., (2011) revealed that in
each of the 4 periods of play, different performance indicators explained how
winning teams differentiated from the losing team. In addition, they described that
winning teams possessed higher intensity plays and had a superior shot
performance. While the other factors are not relevant in this regard, they explained
why winning teams outperform losing teams in a basketball match. Another study
by Lopez et al., (2011) which examined only shot attempts showed that not all shots
can be classified as equally difficult because of the location and conditions of the
taken shot. How players can improve in this area was discussed by Miller Bartlett
(1996). They stated that players should be tasked with trying shots from a number
of locations on the court in order to help their shooting. In other words, one of the
conditions could be the defensive pressure applied by the opposing team. For
example, in Chang et al., (2014:2) conference paper they explained that defender
distance can have a varying and significant impact at various parts of the

The purpose of this study is to examine written language produced by typical
developing children in Grades 2 through 4. The researchers examined two common
academic discourse genres, narrative and expository by analyzing, microstructure and
macrostructure of student writing samples. Overall, the researchers are examining
the progression of linguistic elements and expository writingdevelopment in school
age children s narratives. Speech language pathologists have a duty to analyze and
assess clients who might have a writing disorder. This study applies to communication
disorders because in order to know what abnormal is a therapist must study from
typical language developing children. By creating baselines and normative data the
therapist can then compare and contrast the client to his or her peers. This study will
help both clinicians and educators understand the fundamentals of the developing
writer and validate, reliable assessment methods. The study will examine
microstructure and macrostructure in narrative and expository writing samples
produced by elementary school students. This study extends from previous studies
and will add onto the existing literature. The study looks at the development and
relations among typical writers while looking at microstructure and macrostructure of
a child s writing separately in two different discourses. A total of 93 students initially
recruited but by the end of the study only 89 completed the study. The four students

17. What Are The Major Changes Of The Sui Tang And Song
Dynasty
Major changes in political structure, social and economic life define the Sui, Tang,
and Song dynasties. Each period laid the foundation for the next, with changes and
improvements to create a new order. China is one of the world s richest historical
countries boasting of ancient civilization. China has a mysterious and long history,
about 5,000 years. China traces her culture to a blend of small tribes like any other
great civilizations of the world. These small original tribes expanded to what is China
today. The history of China records that Xia Dynasty is the oldest dynasty with
Yuanmou man being the oldest hominoid in China. The country also documents a
number of eminent people who contributed to the nation s enrichment and
development experienced today. However, this essay seeks to discuss the major
changes in political structures, social and economic life that occurred during the Sui
dynasty, the Tang dynastyand the Song dynastyin China. The Sui dynasty reigned
from 581 618 A.D. The emperor built monasteries for both Buddhism and Daoism
throughout the land, and appointed Buddhist monks as his key advisors. The Han
system of examination based on the Confucian classics were revived. Taxation was
reformed, and a census was introduced to create equitable tax collection. Also, a
land grant was given to every taxable male. Once a male turned 60 years old, part of
the land was returned to the government, the rest could be passed on to his heirs.

19. The Link Between The Cerebellum And Autism
Exploring the Link between the Cerebellum and Autism With the rate of autism
being diagnosed on the rise, the amount of research and interest in the disorder has
risen as well. Some research suggests that over the past two decades the occurrence
of autism has increased from approximately 2 5 per 10,000 births to about 1 5 per
1,000 births (Acosta Pearl, 2004; Fatemi et al., 2012). Still others report that the
occurrence is as high as 1 in 150 kids (Amaral, Schumann, Nordhal, 2008). Even
though the spectrum of autistic disorders has been studied since 1943, there have
still not been any consistent nor persuasive causes or markers, either biological or
clinical, identified with autism and its range of disorders (Santangelo Tsatsanis,
2005). In fact, even with all of the advancements in genetic research technology
and the increasing interest in autism, researchers can still only account for
approximately 5 15% of autistic cases (Rogers et al., 2013). One of the reasons
why autism is so difficult to study is that it is a very heterogeneous disorder
(Acosta Pearl, 2004; Fatemi et al., 2012; Kates et al., 1998; Mitchell et al., 2009;
Rogers et al., 2013; Santangelo Tsatsanis, 2005). This means that the disorder has
a wide variety in both symptoms and severity. There is such a wide range because the
disorder can be caused by as few as 2 10 genes or by over 15 (Santangelo Tsatsanis,
2005). Making the pathology even more difficult to discover is the fact that in

21. Modern Day Society And Creative Industries
Scriptwriters and Their Role in Modern Day Society
What would Hollywood and its producers do without scriptwriters? A person with
a camera can only do so much on their own; without a script there is no story to
build a movie up from. Essentially, an excellent script is the foundation for a
brilliant movie. Furthermore, scriptwriting has been an interest of mine since my
seventh grade year in middle school, which was when I was first exposed to drama.
I was not a huge fan of getting up on a stage; however, I greatly enjoyed the writing
aspect of the class. I connected with the idea of telling somebody a story without
having to look them directly in the eyes, and I still feel this way today. Due to this
feeling, I sense that I would make a decent scriptwriter. Carrying on, this paper
further examines the substantial role of the scriptwriter in modern day society and
creative industries. According to the National Careers Service, a career search
website based in the United Kingdom, scriptwriters are writers who create
screenplays (2015). Constructing characters, shaping dialogue, and writing an
engaging plot are all part of a scriptwriter s profession (AllAboutCareers Ltd, 2015).
As a screenwriter, one might expect to develop their own original ideas through
writing and words to sell to producers. Some producers may even commission a
scriptwriter to create a screenplay based on an idea or true story. Additionally,
scriptwriters are often asked to adapt an existing

existence and, in many ways, sets the pattern for the genre, neatly fitting the
definition of a primary epic (that is, one that grows out of oral tradition).
In The Odyssey, Homer employs most of the literary and poetic devices associated
with epics: catalogs, digressions, long speeches, journeys or quests, various trials or
tests of the hero, similes, metaphors, and divine intervention.
Homer composed The Odyssey in a meter known as dactylic hexameter, which gives
the epic its elevated style. Each line has six metrical feet. The first five feet may be
made up of either dactyls and/or spondees. A dactyl is a metrical foot consisting of
a long sound followed by two short sounds (BEEEEAT beat beat). A spondee has
two long sounds (BEEEEAT BEEEEAT).
23. The Importance Of Plagiarism In Writing
Choices Plagiarism is when you take any form of writing and make it your own
without giving proper credit to the owner. You can also be plagiarizing if you use
some of your old work without the teacher knowing you did so. In universities across
America about Вѕ of people are involved in some kind of academic dishonesty
(Heckler, Rice, and Bryan 229). Many students have different reasons as to why
they had to cheat on an assignment and they range from not having enough time,
not getting the sufficient information from the teacher or for the assignment, and
sometimes some students also say that the teacher almost gives them no choice
(Puka). RO In The Words [Be sure this text is properly titled in your writing] the
main character is struck with an important realization; that his writing will never
be as good as the owner of the manuscript he found. In a simple confusion between
him and his wife he makes a split moments decision and decides that he will take
ownership of the manuscript. His wife pushes him to show it to someone and he
ends up giving it to a publisher. Months pass by since he has given it and he almost
forgets about it until the publisher comes back and tells him he loves the book and
he wants to publish it. Years pass by and the man is now very well known author
and has made a name and money off of someone else s manuscript and no one but he
knows what he has done. One day this old man confronts him about what he has done
and the man starts feeling guilty
24. How Did Star Wars Influenced Pop Culture
When George Lucas first pitched the idea of Star Wars, a space western, to movie
executives back in the 1970 s; he probably never imagined it to be the cultural
phenomenon that it turned out to be. The original Star Wars trilogy (Star Wars
Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi), earned more two billion dollars, after adjusted for
inflation in North America (IMDB). Then sixteen years later the next three Star
Wars movies were released (Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars
Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith), and
earned more than 1.5 billion dollars at the box office in North America, adjusted
for inflation (IMDB). Not only were the movies box office hits, the movies were
also critically acclaimed. Episode VI was nominated for 11 Oscars: including Best
Picture, and also won seven Oscars, including a special achievement award (The
Academy Awards). The prequels were also nominated for a total of five Academy
Awards (The Academy Awards). With all of that aside Star Wars is more than all of
that, the franchise has influenced movies and how audiences get involved with
movies. Star Wars was not the original blockuster, Episode IV came out two years
late to get that title, that title goes to Jaws. Jaws, much like Star Wars, caused the
shift from the film industries typical, personal filmmaking, to a much faster paced,
big budget movies, aimed towards

Adolf Hitler vs. Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Adolf Hitler and Dietrich Bonhoeffer have some similarities and some differences.
They both are two particularly interesting members of Germany s historical history.
Since they are both German, they both have similarities based on home country, but
differences in background history. Examining these two important historical people
will enable the ability to find similarities and differences in WWII. According to The
Jewish Virtual Library, Adolf Hitlerwas born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau am Inn,
Austria. He was a resentful, dishonest child. He was often grumpy, lazy, and had
unpredictable dispositions. He was deeply hostile towards his strict, authoritarian
father and strongly attached to his indulgent, hard working mother, whose death from
cancer in December 1908 was a shattering blow to the adolescent Hitler.
Biography.com states that when Hitler was 3, His family moved from Austria to
Germany. Because of his brother s death in 1900, Hitler became detached and
introverted. His father did not approve of his interest in fine art rather than business
because of Hitler s interest in art and his additional interest in German nationalism,
rejecting authority of Austria Hungary. This early interest of nationalism would
eventually lead to what Hitler became famous for about two decades later. Sources
confirm that Dietrich Bonhoeffer, born on February 4, 1906 in Wroclaw, Poland,

For example, earlier this fall the University held a video conference event for

same building where presidents stayed, and Martin Luther King Junior gave a speech,
the University showed the overly sexual and disturbing movie Sausage Party , or held

University does put on numerous educational events for both the community and
students; the William Pitt Union Student Center sees its fair share

The analysis reflects on how ICloud became successful. The investigation was very
successful in establishing the attackers, and their motive evidenced different people
pleading guilty for the attack. The access of ICloud continues to increase with a
number of cases being reported after the 2014 instance. The hackers managed to
access the ICloud by convincing the users to log in by opening a specific email that
is purported to be either from Google or Apple companies. The hackers emphasize
the account security is likely to be compromised and the user need to act swiftly. The
various photos that have surfaced on the various internet is a clear indication as to
why the users act swiftly to the email. The ICloud is using to save photos, and this
has led to people saving videos and their nude photos (Revolvy, 2014). In the event
an email arises purporting the security will be compromised makes them act very
quickly only to enable the hacker to attain the various credential that is fundamental
to accessing the ICloud such as the passwords. The celebrities purpose to protect
their image, and this makes them vulnerable to this issue of ICloud photo leak. The
attacker is able to convince them to login in order to upgrade their security to avoid
their nude photos and videos to leak. In the attempt to comply and heighten their

30. The Function Of Critical Reflection In Social Work
Critical reflection is both a theory and a process that involves engaging and
understanding the interconnections between assumptions, emotions, thoughts,
reactions, meanings and values (Fook Garnder, 2007). Critical reflection in social
work can challenge assumptions, values and beliefs either from our own upbringing
or stemmed from societal attitudes and perceptions (Agglias et al., 2010).
From my placement experiences, I had related a lot to adolescents because we were
so close in age. One of my strengths that I had identified early on in placement was
that I could be naturally empathetic and adapt my communication style with this
target group with ease. By working closely with adolescents in my supervisor s
caseload and building rapport with them, I could see firsthand the impacts of what
placement breakdowns had on them, and how this affected their self esteem and
confidence. For this reason, I am very passionate about working with adolescents and
working towards change which ultimately impacts my practice.
However, I found that from professional experiences, within the CP agency context,
advocating for adolescents was a challenging task.
There was an incident on placement where I did not agree with how a high school
wellbeing coordinator responded to a disclosure about sexual harassment and assault
occurring on school grounds on behalf of a young person. In summary, this
wellbeing coordinator questioned the validity of the experience stating that
sometimes girls make malicious comments against other students , as well as
saying that it was child protection s responsibility despite it occurring on school
grounds. When fed this back this to my team, I was told to write the conversation
in a case note, and to carry on to another task. This did not stop there as I took this
to the team manager who sat down with me and wrote a complaint to the
department of education. In terms of this paper, and relevance, I believe there needs
to be collaboration across the sector. This experience alone allowed me to reflect on
the importance of advocacy is in social work, and how one difference of one person
can make an impact. Drawing from Gardner s model, what I have learnt from this
which impacts on this
31. Women s Role In The American Corrections System
The American corrections system has many facets to it as well as many challenges
that each and every individual within its system must learn to cope with. Not
everyone who is in some sector of the corrections system can deal with what
corrections entails because the life that they led outside of the correctionssystem isn t
always the same. This can especially be said for women who find themselves part of
the corrections system simply because of the role that women generally face within
their homes.
Corrections is defined as, the variety of programs, services, facilities, and
organizations responsible for the management of individuals who have been accused
or convicted or criminal offenses (Clear, 2013). This includes corrections officers, ...

corrections system. There were three principles found to be of importance for this
time of prison reform and they were, (1) separation of women prisoners from men,
(2) provision of differential care, and (3) management of women s prisons by
female staff (Clear, 2013). Basically the concern was female prisoners to be house
separately from the male prisoners in a facility ran by female staff.
In state prisons it is estimated that women account for nearly twenty five percent of
the workforce (Clear, 2013). However in the Federal Bureau of Prisons it is estimated
that women only account for approximately thirteenth percent of the officers (Clear,
2013). Out of the total population of prison inmates, only approximately seven
percent are female whereas the population of female jail inmates is approximately
twelve percent.
An issue that is of concern is the safety of female officers when working within a
male prison facility. In 2013, a female officer at the Arizona State Prison Complex in
Winslow was brutally beaten by two inmates to the point of being placed in the
hospital. Officer Benavidez was escorting 50 unrestrained male inmates when two of
them inmates proceeded to brutally attack her. According to a statement from her
boyfriend, the first one hit her and knocked her out. He climbed on top of her and
continued to pound her head. There was another one, and

interactive, more Ritualism than Ritualization. The manager sees his leadership as
most important to make Akiko realize her behavior.
36. Justice In Medieval Europe
All through history, many complex and non complex questions come about. Many
of these questions like, what is justice? These questions are very complex and are
hard to answer. This is because the answers change because of many factors like
time, evidence, place and ideas. For example, your idea of justice may be different
then someone from a different culture or place as you. Although, overall there is no
definite answer to the questions. The answer may be generally the same. For
example, what is justice? Justice is the maintenance or administration of what is just
especially by the impartial adjustment of conflicting claims or the assignment of
merited rewards or punishments. This can differ from person to person based on
their beliefs, but overall be generally the same. Justice in Medieval Europe is

These documents helped resolve conflicts and establish order, but also showed
inequalities of some of the systems. Medieval European law was based on old
Germanic ideas and customs, but it was also influenced by the ancient Roman law
system, these ideas are very complex and consisted of horrible punishments.
Justice in Medieval Europe started from the fall of the Western Modern Empire, it
became very difficult to manage law and order situations in the smaller kingdoms
initiated by the Barbarians. The spread of religious movements of Christianity and
Islamism made it even more challenging. To give protection of the kingdom, kings
transferred power to knights and barons. The lower class of ordinary people like
peasants and serfs accepted their rule to attain protection against invaders and rival
kingdoms. This gave rise to feudalism and their overall justice system. European
Feudalism was made from elements of the roman Regine. Roman villas and their
land were granted to military leaders on a temporary basis as a reward for their
loyalty to Rome and the

Particularly in three groups, the first relates to the Academic area, the second aspect
deals with the Practice area and the last focuses on the Research area. By combining
these three groups in a vertical manner, each space within the design relates to the
Gastronomic Practice area. Spaces such as the changing rooms, ateliers, precooking
kitchen, access to raw materials and other kitchens, assist in the development of a
strong interconnection between the spaces, people and the food being consumed in a
direct way.
At a distance the building shows the different levels that gives the composition a
unique character. Comparing its scale to the buildings of the Technologic Business

aromatic plants, which almost neutralize the effect of the building towards the closest
semi detached housings.
From a conceptual perspective, formulating the design composition is based on the
scale work between the iconographical image (piled up dishes) and the building itself.
The artist Robert Therrien (Chicago 1947) handles daily kitchen objects as dish
services, pots and uplifts them into artistic objects, by means of accumulations, along
with scale multiplication. The plane character of these objects takes contrast with
their iconographical presence when they assume their new dimension.
The same strategy has been taken to the exterior volume definition of the building,

38. Essay Comparing The Yellow Wallpaper And A Doll s House
Throughout the nineteenth century, gender assumptions were made stating that
women were the substantially and intellectually the weaker sex. Due to this
mindset, it was believed that women must always serve under male control. This
belief caused most women in the nineteenth century to bask in an aura of
oppression and repression. Feministic views commence from the awareness of the
inequality of treatment that women faced. Many stories such as, The Yellow
Wallpaper written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman , and the The Story of an Hour
written by Kate Chopin , demonstrated the oppression that women endured and
expressed women s regression. However, only The Yellow Wallpaper and the The
Story of an Hour are attributable to the play A Doll s House through it s use of
symbolic symbols. In A Doll s House, Henrik Ibsen symbolic use of the letter box,

In chapter three of Mudhouse Sabbath, Lauren Winner talks about mourning. When I
looked up the definition of morning in the dictionary, it basically said that mourning
is the act of grieving and showing sorrow, often by wearing the color black. The
ways Christians and Jews morn are different. For Christians, those first few weeks
after the deathof someone, the members of the church and other friends or family
are there for there for the people who are morning. For example, if the mother of
Sally died, the friends and family of Sally would visit her the first few weeks after the
funeral. Her friends and family might spend more time with Sally while she is
morning and bring food and ask how Sally is doing. Then after a few weeks, the

However, if Sally was Jewish, things would be different.
According to Lauren Winner, Judaism understands mourning as a discipline, one in
which the mourner is not only allowed, but expected, to be engaged (Winner, 28).
In Judaism, friends, family and members of the church are more involved when
someone is morning. During time of morning, there are four spaces or stages. The
first stage is called aninut. This stage occurs after the death of someone but before
their funeral. During this time, mourners focus on getting things ready for the
funeral and they do not have to go to prayer services or welcome any guests at their
homes. Also during this time, the people in the Jewish community are not

40. Similarities Between Kepler And Kepler s Platonist...
According to the common belief during the Middle Ages, the universe was comprised
of many nested celestial spheres, or orbs. According to M.S. Mahoney, an
astronomical researcher at Princeton University, Johannes Kepler, in his physics
research, regarded the spheres as the geometrical spatial regions containing each
planetary orbit rather than physical bodies as in preceding Aristotelian celestial
physics . Kepler provided mathematical evidence to this theory, including the fact that
the eccentricity of each planet s elliptical orbit and its major and minor axes defined
the lengths of the radii of the inner and outer limits of its celestial sphere and,
therefore, its thickness. The role of these geometrical spheres in Kepler s Platonist
geometrical cosmology was to determine the sizes and ordering of the five Platonic
polyhedral within which the spheres were supposedly spatially embedded (Mahoney).
Although each sphere rotated uniformly, the combination of their separate
revolutions prompted the discovery of the appearance of the irregularity in the
motions of the sun and the plants as astronomers viewed from the Earth. The notion
that the planets were celestial three dimensional spheres rather than concrete two
dimensional objects contributed to the naming of Pythagoras s theory, known as the
Harmony of the Spheres. The Musicof the Spheres, also known as Musica Universalis
, originated from the Greek philosopher, Pythagoras. During his time, the celestial
spheres
41. Mr Quiring In The Novel Analysis
All appearances of characters in novels have their different roles developed, even if
they are minor. Mr. Quiring in the novel, a complicated kindness, is no exception to
this convention. Although Mr. Quiring rarely appears in the novel, he plays a crucial
role in making the readers understand more about the protagonist, Naomi.
Mr. Quiring s knowledge and behavior has an impact on the protagonist, Naomi.
Mr. Quiring is described as an English teacher who always prepares carefully before
his classes. The readers can perceive this through the observation of his student,
Naomi, who recognizes that he practices what he plans to do in class, noting that
every story must have a beginning, middle, and end (Toews 243). Moreover, due to
his vast knowledge, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Quiring in a complicated kindness is guiding Naomi to stop her internal struggle. The
essay which Mr Quiring gave to Naomi is a metaphor of her problem, with which she
is struggling to find its ending. According to Heath, the whole novel is an assignment
that she had difficulty in what to write, especially in its ending (223). In the
beginning of the novel, she got problem with ending, he helped Naomi
acknowledged how to come up with the ending that is quite out of the writer s
control, which people just know when it happens (Toews 1). Moreover, the author
also let Mr. Quiring assist Naomi to solve her ending in her real life. It can be
explained when she takes time to stuck in the way to finish her schoolwork, to say
goodbye to her town, and especially to live in her way, Mr. Quiring tries to guide
her to find the answer by asking her to imagine what will happen when she closes
her eyes. In other words, he lets her draw her dream future her ending she desires.
Finishing the ending of her essay simultaneously opened her endings for her family.
That is a reason why she said Mr Quiring provided her family with ending (Toews,
243). Therefore, providing Naomi s ending is one of the most indispensable role of
Mr. Quiring in the
42. Essay On Cyberpunk
While science fiction was once primarily about science, it has since evolved into a
far reaching field that encompasses a variety of subgenres. в¦Ѓcyberpunk: The
cyberpunk genre emerged in the early 1980s; combining cybernetics and punk, the
term was coined by author Bruce Bethke for his 1980 short story Cyberpunk. The
time frame is usually near future and the settings are often dystopian in nature and
characterized by misery. Common themes in cyberpunk include advances in
information technology and especially the Internet, visually abstracted as cyberspace
and artificial intelligence. в¦ЃTime travel: Time travel stories have antecedents in the
18th and 19th centuries. Time travel continues to be a popular subject in modern
science fiction, in print, movies, and television episodes of Stargate SG1 and the
BBC television series Doctor Who. в¦ЃAlternative history : Alternative history stories
are based on the premise that historical events might have turned out differently.
These stories may use time travel to change the past, or may simply set a story in a

Subsequently, humans ever expanding capitalist needs lead them to another planet
where they are at risk of making modernity s same mistakes. In Avatar, Cameron
shows us an Eden like world, untouched by destructive human qualities, almost a post

values and reinvent themselves to cohabitate respectfully and harmoniously with their
environment and each other. It is not innocent that Cameron chose to call this world

which will unleash the worst in humans as they seek to mine its sacred
43. Literary Analysis Of Randall Jarrell
Almost as important as the content, is the form an author chooses to express their
stories. From poetry to novels, writing form helps shape a reader s experience. The
Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , is the perfect example of how a poem s form
reinforces its content. The author, Randall Jarrell, leaves much to the readers
imagination. Jarrell is descriptive and vague at the same time. This style is no
accident and helps convey more to the readers than the surface level of the text.
Making the readers think and question the truth behind any war and telling a story
people aren t used to reading. 1
In class, we ve discussed Kate McLoughlin s ideas for how to write the best war
literature. Kate McLoughlin helped write and edit The Cambridge Companion to War
Writing. In her writing, McLoughlin discusses the difficulties of war literature, and
how words can t capture the true complexity of war. McLoughlin describes war as
a massive and complex phenomenon and goes on to say literature of any type
cannot accurately capture war. This is especially true of war on a global scale that
spans years. To solve this problem, McLoughlin suggests that writing less and leaving
certain aspects to the reader s imagination can be beneficial. 2 Randall Jarrell s style
seems in line with McLoughlin s views on how to write proper war literature. This
lack of detail is what made his poem, one of the more compelling readings so far.
Leaving the reader to imagine what the gunner is experiencing
44. Conventions In A Christmas Carol
Explain how Charles Dickens uses the conventions of a ghost story to create a dark
and suspense filled tale in A Christmas Carol
Recently we a have been reading A Christmas Carol which was written by Charles
Dickens in 1843. The book is about a man named Ebenezer Scrooge who is cold
hearted accountant in London who hates everyone, especially children. Scrooge
hates poor people and refuses to give any money to help them. He gets visited by
three ghosts who teach him to care about people and to not be so tight with his
money. The story starts off with Scrooges deceased partner Jacob Marley appearing to
him on Christmas Eve and warning him that if he does not change his ways when he
dies he will spend the rest of eternity as a ghost roaming the Earth with tons of chains
dragging him down. Marley also warns Scrooge of the three ghosts that would appear
to him over the next three nights. The ghosts appear to him and show him his
Christmas past, present and future which convinces him to become a nice and
charitable person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author writes The bells ceased as they had begun, together. They were
succeeded by a clanking noise deep down below as if some person were dragging a
heavy chain over the casks in the wine merchants cellar. In ghost stories they often
use noises that are unexplainable and that you can t tell where the noise is coming
from. This gives a mysterious and suspenseful effect. The words clanking and
dragging makes the story sound gritty and unpleasant. This makes the story a dark
and suspense filled
45. Political Turncoatism
Introduction To be a party to an organization is to be identified to that organization
and renunciation of the other party. However, in the Philippine case politicians freely
and gracefully shift from one party to another, the other changed his mind and do the
same. Party switching had been a common scenario in the Philippine politics. Its
occurrence is usually at election times or at times when there is a need to resolve a
certain conflict involving a political issue or question and during times of revolutions
and People Power. True enough the party system of the country seems to resemble
chameleons of politicians going from one party to another.

I kept on thinking about something that is obviously a problem but of which its

I decided to think of the wrongs and liabilities of the political dynamics in the
Philippines. I just can t get over the rampant party switching of different politicians
for their own convenience and in my perspective, how the people just take that for
granted and has it considered as a common Filipino political culture. And then, I get
to ask what kind of PARTY system do we have?
So that was it, I m going to study the root of POLITICAL TURNCOATISM, all
about these political butterflies and the Party System of the country that seems to be
arbitrariness of its existence.
At first, since I wasn t able to appreciate public administration and that I wasn t able

watching and reading news, continuous researching and several informal discussions
with classmates, elderly and some people with authority to the subject matter, what I
have to do with my research becomes clearer and more interesting.
I can actually say mine s a good topic. It is very much political and indeed has social
relevance. It concerns the society as a whole and
46. Comparing Beowulf And The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Fellowship of the Ring is a story written by author J. R. R. Tolkien. His story
loosely based around Anglo Saxon mythology much like the epic of Beowulf.
Beowulf is a much older story than The Fellowship of the Ring, but they share
some key details. Furthermore, one could easily compare the two stories for their
epic like elements. Both stories contain epic elements, but how does The
Fellowship of the ring fit the definition of an epic? Where does it lack? If you
watch the film, the first example of an epic element is presented when Bilbo
Baggins and Gandalf the the Grey are in Bilbo s home (Jackson, The Fellowship of
the Ring). The element is presented after Gandalf finds out that Bilbo s been
harboring the ring for a long time (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). When
this is revealed, Bilbo gives a long speech about the ring s powers and how it has
been affecting him in a great way. Notably, the ring brings many good things to
Bilbo, like youth and health. In fact, outwardly he hasn t aged for sixty years, but he
humbly recognizes there s an underlying darkness to the ring that brings great
temptation to the bearer (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring).... Show more content

He leaves everything he owns, including the ring, in his adopted heirs possession.
Bilbo s departure provokes the next epic element, which is a long and dangerous
journey. After Bilbo leaves, Gandalf clearly states the dangers of the rings to
Frodo, the heir of Bilbo s possessions (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring).
Gandalf tells Frodo to leave with the ring immediately and it ends up being a very
long journey. Frodo has no idea that this journey will result in him crossing multiple
nations, which is also an epic
47. Ray Kroc Research Paper
Ray Kroc revolutionized the way Americans and fast food chains handle french
fries. Perfecting the french fry was a hard task that required a lot of experimenting.
If the fry was too rich in sugar, for example, the outside would become too crispy,
whereas the inside would not be fully cooked. The perfect french fry is crispy,
golden brown and filled with a fluffy inside. Kroc had turned a simple potato into an
inexpensive snack that was easily mass produced. French friesare slowly killing
Americans. More specifically, the fats that the potato gets fried in is harming its
consumers and is extremely unhealthy. McDonald s went from using beef tallow, an
animal based oil, as their prime frying liquid to vegetable oil after health concerns.

1. What is the r value for the relationship between Hamstring strength index 60В°/s
and the Shuttle run test? Is this r value significant? Provide a rationale for your
answer.
ANSWER: The obligatory r value is 0.149 and this r value is not significant since the
p value for this correlation coefficient or r is 0.424 which is extra than 0.05 or 0.01
and henceforth at 5% and 10% both level , the null hypothesis of insignificance
cannot be rejected and the assumption is the r value is not significant.
2. Consider r = 1.00 and r = в€’1.00. Which r value is stronger? Provide a rationale
for your answer.
ANSWER: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

absolute r value.
9. The researchers stated that no significant relationship could be described between
Hamstring strength indices 60В°/s and functional stability. Given the data in Table 5,
explain why not.
ANSWER: It is correct as the p values for Hamstring strength indices 60В°/s and all
variables remained grander than 0.05. The p values were 0.08, 0.06, 0.424, 0.506,
and 0.802. These p values do not suggest significance at the 5% level. The r values
among Hamstring strength indices 60%/s and functional solidity all are not
significant at 0.05 and 0.01 both significant level. Therefore, suggests no significant
connection and because of this cause, this can be conclude that not any significant
connection possibly will be defined among Hamstring strength indices 60%/s and
functional solidity.
10. Consider the relationship reported for the Quadriceps strength index 120В°/s
and the Hop index (r = 0.744**, p = 0.000). What do these r and p values indicate
related to statistical significance and clinical importance?
ANSWER: These r and p values specify a stout constructive statistical significance,
as the r value is nearby to 1.0, and the p value is 0.0 0.05. Clinically this displays
that as Quadriceps strength index 120В°/s increases in the same manner the Hop
index. It is very vital to instruct patients regarding the significance of strength
teaching and workout. The r value

Sacrifice to succeed Sacrifice is mandatory to be successful. In order for anyone to
get away from poverty, they must sacrifice most of the items that they want for some
of the items they actually need. The novels Scratch Beginnings, 30 Days, and Pursuit
of Happiness all show examples about the importance of sacrifice. In the novel
Scratch Beginnings, by Adam Shepard, Adam had to sacrifice most of the everyday
expenses he wanted in order to get things he needed. On Adam s first night he had
to walk eight miles through a not so nice neighborhood to the homeless shelter
rather than paying a fee for the bus. In order to save even more money Adam lived
in the homeless shelter for the first two months of his year. Adam had to wake up

50. Irish Immigration To Canada Essay
Irish Immigration to Canada
The Irish began immigrating to North America in the 1820s, when the lack of jobs
and poverty forced them to seek better opportunities elsewhere after the end of the
major European wars. When the Europeans could finally stop depending on the Irish
for food during war, the investment in Irish agricultural products reduced and the
boom was over. After an economic boom, there comes a bust and unemployment was
the result. Two thirds of the people of Ireland depended on potato harvests as a
main source of income and, more importantly, food. Then between the years of
1845 and 1847, a terrible disease struck the potato crops. The plague left acre after
acre of Irish farmland covered with black rot. The failure of the ... Show more content

both North America and Britain. It also called for an urgent political change in the
Irish system (the Irish Republic resulted).
When the first ships arrived on the ports of Canada, quarantine shelters that were
prepared for emigrants became so overcrowded that military tents outside shelters
were used temporarily. The tents were often floored with wooden boards and
patients were supplied with cots. These tents provided adequately during fine
weather, but provided insufficient protection when it was cold and damp.
Gradually, as more emigrants arrived, even the tents became overcrowded and
emigrants were forced to sleep without shelter on bare ground with no cover except
for the clothes they wore. The desperate need for accommodation prevented their
immediate removal from quarantine vessels. Their confinement on board caused
emigrants to contract more disease that was spread further as a result of lack of
ventilation and lack of medical aid on ships as doctors and nurses were desperately
needed at hospitals. The overcrowded sheds were unsuitable for hospital services,
and, despite the number of complaints about the conditions of quarantines, nothing
could be done. More hospitals were built, but remained unfinished, as carpenters
refused to complete construction for fear of disease. Yet more emigrants who already
suffered from disease were suffering from
