The pleasant suburb is recommended for families, young couples, professionals, singles,
retirees, hipsters, country lovers, and tourists because of its pleasant and peaceful
neighbourhood. The population density is not high so it s not crowded like the residential areas
in the city proper. Its cost of living is also moderately affordable. Anyone can easily feel at home
here because the locals speak languages other than English such as German, Greek, Italian,
Macedonian, and Cantonese. All the houses are separate from each other which give you a
bigger space of your own to customise your surroundings and backyard. The clean air and the

Reflection Of The FilmPaper Man, By John Kahrs
The short film, Paper man , by John Kahrs is a genuine reflection on his world. The way this is
depicted is through his exploration use of magic, the amazing symbolism of the colour used and the
service of sound. The representation of these allows, the audience to be more thankful to this film
and understand its diversity in the world that it once was.
Paper man , is presented in a reflection of the world through the exploration use of magic. This is
best illustrated through the world of 2012 because of how black and white the world was. This
film was created explaining and unfolding the world to a black and white film which gives it a
sense of a romantic genre. As the use of magic is portrayed, the audience get a feeling of hope
and happiness as we too feel the realistic emotions as the main character in this short film. Three
quarters if the way through, when things are looking down and sad, the little spark we call Disney
starts up and help two people rekindle the love at first sight. The use of magic makes the audience
feel as though nothing is as it seems, that things can get better and to always, always, believe in
yourself and never give up. Nonetheless, this film represents the world at the time through the use
of magic!
This films diversity and reflection of the world has dramatically changed based on the range of
colour this film offers. The portrayal of the film is based on the way colour has genuinely
symbolised the significance. The little bit of

How To Stop High School From Stifling Creativity Analysis
Creativity is the base of human development. School s were first created to help their people to be
skillful and mentally capable to endure all problems. Times have changed and the morals of
education have altered as well. In today s world students from the U.S. are taught and pushed to
memorize information instead of being pushed to learn how to think critically through it. Professor
s should emphasize more on the importance of ingenuity, than the importance of getting a good
grade. The beginning stages of person s life is when one is at their highest potential for developing
creativity. Kyung Hee Kim, an educational psychologist, discovered that between the grades of

Tristan de Frondeville, consultant for PBL associates, called the time that students spend dozing
off in class as dead time . Dead time starts from one student and tends to spread because other
classmates would get the impression that full participation is unnecessary. By not acting on the
dead time , students reinforce the idea of memorization and cramming instead of understanding
the information. Eliminating dead time , expands the valuable time classes have, puts both the
student and the teacher s time to correct use, and helps students use each part of their brains to
learn more skills. In the article, How to Keep Kids Engaged in Class , there are said to be four
different levels that categorized the four different students. The first level is the highest level
which make up the students who actively participate in class, but as well as out of class, the
second level are the responsible students, the third level are the students who pass the class by
doing the bare minimum, and the last level are the students who do everything to not have to put in
any effort into the class. Activities other than lectures or straight memory drilling techniques will

Civil War began, two companies dominated the competition for lucrative government contracts the

secured contracts with both the Navy and Wardepartments by late 1861. Two years later the New

19th century the social ranking of an individual is what set them apart from others. An example
of something that would show a high social rank would be one s jewelry. Back in the Victorian
age the most precious thing an individual could have was jewelry. John Plotz says, On the one
hand, through jewelry one establishes a sense of personal worth and identity. On the other hand,
jewelry s very elegance lies in its impersonality (Plotz 26). Anything that could easily be

Scarlet Letter Rhetorical Analysis
To depict Hester Prynne s inner turmoil, Nathaniel Hawthorne uses many different types of
rhetorical devices, such as pathos, simile, and metaphor. He also uses an abundance amount of
syntax, irony and tone. Hawthorne uses metaphors and similes often in chapter five, to exaggerate
Hester s chaos inside. The arrangement of words and phrases Hawthorne uses makes the reader
think and try to understand Hester s tension. Hawthorne describes that Hester feels like the chain
that bound her here was of iron links, and galling to her inmost soul. This doesn t mean that she is
bound by actual chains, but instead it means that she feels as if she is stuck in Boston, and ends up
staying in a cottage on the outskirts of the town. He then continues with, although she hid the secret
from herself, and grew pale whenever it struggled out of her heart, like a serpent from its home. In
these statements Hawthorne is using the metaphor and simile to give the reader a view into Hester
s inner turmoil.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He describes that, the very law that condemned her....had held her up through the terrible ordeal
of her ignominy. This makes zero sense, how could something, or someone, that convicted you,
hold you up through your trials? Hawthorne uses this to give the reader a look into the depth of
Hester s thoughts. Later Hawthorne writes that, her needlework was seen on the ruff of the
Governor; military men wore it on their scarfs, and the minister on his band; it decked baby s
little cap; it was shut up, to be mildewed and molder away, in the coffins of the dead. There s irony
in this statement, because before this Hawthorne points out that as Hester walks out of the prison
she thinks to herself how she would become the general symbol at which the preacher and moralist
might point, and in which they might vivify and embody their images of woman s frailty and sinful

genomes refer to the digital footprints of people in the society [1]. Since the birth, we interact with
various social entities include government, businesses, and individuals. Traces of our social

methods, population informatics answer questions about the society, make forecasting of future
changes and provide insights for politics and business decisions. Problem to address Population
databases are scattered across various organisations, and their presentations are continuously
changing alongside the evolving of the organisations. To form a social genome with comprehensive
information, techniques are needed to link dynamic data across different population databases for
each natural being. Data quality has significant influence on the performance of the system [2], and
appropriate data linkage techniques can improve data quality, enrich data, and reduce costs in data

Benefits Of A New School Year
Starting a new school year is a joy for most students, as they take pleasure in moving up to a
higher grade level and given more academic and sports opportunities to show off their

when they re forced out of summer vacation mode, into a daily routine of having to get up early,
expected to follow school rules again and given a daily dose of homework. Yet, regardless of
how one may view the start a new school term, it is indeed a great opportunity to start over,
make new friends, work harder either on the field or in the classroom and become the best
student possible. To ensure your little one(s) have a successful school year, here are some

Racism In The Kite Runner
Racism and discrimination were incredibly prominent in Afghanistan at the time of the writing
/publishing of The Kite Runner and is still prominent today, not only in some parts of Afghanistan
but also around the world. No matter how much the modern world molds their views to become
more and more open and tolerant, people still discriminate against others due to their looks and
beliefs. Hosseini portrays these conditions of racism and discrimination in The Kite Runner through
interactions between Amir and his servant friend Hassan, and also through interactions between
Hassan and others, who is often the victim of racist actions and dialogue. The socioeconomic
conditions in Afghanistanduring this time show the inequality between the majority (Sunni
Muslims/Pashtuns in this case) and the minority (Shi a Muslims/Hazaras) and how people
discriminate against each other based on how they look and what their religious beliefs are.
Amir, at the beginning of the book, has a decent life. He is the young son of a wealthy man and
has a great friend in a boy named Hassan. He is a Sunni Muslim and a Pashtun, both being the
majority in Afghanistan where he lived. Hassan, though, was not so lucky. He was born from a
Hazara mother and father, the minority during this time. His father, Ali, was a servant to Amir s
father, Baba, meaning that like Ali, Hassan was destined to have the same fate as his father and
work as a servant to Amir for the rest of his life. Although Amir believes that

Descriptive Essay About Oxygen

The Great Purges
To begin with, it can be assumed that Stalin was an irrational leader because he was
simultaneously also a very paranoid individual. He was constantly concerned that people in his
own territory and those abroad were going after him to destroy him. As a result, he was ruthless
in making sure his enemies would be punished. One of his most ferocious acts of terror was The
Great Purges between 1934 and 1939. During those five years, Stalin executed and imprisoned
even his own admirals and Red Army officers. The terror had no boundaries and nobody was safe
from Stalin s punishment. With the help of the Soviet secret police (NKVD), Stalin aimed to

During World War II, the United States experienced approximately 405,000 fatalities whereas the
Soviet Union neared 20 million (Jansson 72). Stalin was aggravated as he believed the majority of
Soviet deaths was due to betrayal from his Western Allies. Thus, paranoia in the idea that the many
deaths were intentional led him to dislike the West even more. He wanted to spread his sphere of
influence, the only true mentality, as well as protect Russia. Stalin decided that no other war should

with the interrogator and suspect. Throughout the passage the author uses multiple extended
metaphors to express the thought process of suspect in an interrogationroom. In the passage it

top of the long wall. The open window is the escape hatch, the Out. The author uses the window to

Because of the passing of the Volstead Act in 1920, production and distribution of alcohol became
an extremely profitable business. With this also came a noticeable rise in organized crime in
many of the big cities. Even worse, the crimes committed by members of these gangs became more
violent. Soon prisons were overcrowded and were merely hold facilities.
No correction was in mind for these prisoners. Convicts filled the empty hours with talk, mostly
about the crimes they had committed and ways they could beat the law. Drug addicts and other
petty offenders were mixed with killers and robbers. Young felons, who had taken to crime for
no more than sheer pleasure or pride on a dare, came out of prison with no job skills but with
plenty of advice from more experienced criminals. In 1933, J. Edgar Hoover was made the director
of the recently established FBI agency.
Hoover had plans to crack down on these criminals. The problem Hoover faced was that, no sooner
were the criminals locked up than the crime organizations would bust them out. With this major
problem in mind, the Justice Department began looking into a maximum security prison that was
not easy to access and therefore inescapable. When they came across Alcatraz, it was almost too
good to be true. By April of 1934, work began on Alcatraz to make the current cell house more
secure by replacing soft iron square bars on the cells with new,

The As A Member Of Ancient Roman Society
As a member of Ancient Roman society there are many things I have to look forward to. There s
always music being played, people gallivanting in the street, beautiful things being built, and
wonderful art work popping up all over the place. One other thing I always get to look forward to is
that today someone will die. I know it seems a bit morbid to say that but it s my job. If people
didn t die I wouldn t make money out of it. I m a mourner. I get paid by families of the deceased
to make a scene, so to say, at a funeral. Each and every day when I wake up the first thing I do is
go to the crier to find out if anyone has died. Once I find out the name of the deceased I find their
family and discuss with them if they need my service or not. It s not every single time I have to
search for the dead. There have been multiple occasions where the family knows that I m a
mourner and they seek me out while their loved one is on their deathbed and once that person dies
they come back to me and tell me it s time that they need my services. It s very rare that I get
turned away. Even the poorest of the poor families want at least one of us. It is believed that by
us causing such a fuss that someone has died that it will keep the spirit happy and they won t
haunt the world of the living. If the family decides to hire me, and it s very rare that they don t, I
get the information I need about when the service will be held and I return home to get ready. Once

Essay Comparing Pleasantville And Fahrenheit 451
Although rebels are looked at as agitators, eventually, people in the book and novel aid society
into evolving for the better. In Pleasantville and Fahrenheit 451 there are certain people who go
against society. These revolutionists are dominated by society for their personal perspectives. Both
the book and film seem to have a common theme consisting of outsiders. Being a social outcast in
the film and or movie eventually brought a new perspective for the society.
These two particular worlds have different attitudes and ideas of a flawless and excellent life. An

Dionysus in Grecian Myth Essay
Dionysus in Grecian Myth
The god, Dionysus, fills an integral role in Grecian Myth. According to Euripides Bacchae,
Dionysus represents the animalistic and mystic life force that connects humanity to its innate
earthy roots #8212;roots that are illogical, chaotic, and instinctual. In this paper I will be
discussing this aforementioned mystic life force and its existence in ancient Greece s supremely
logical society. Being as completely logical as the ancient Greeks tended to be, they needed some
sort of release valve that kept them from all going crazy in their otherwise rigid existence. The god,
Dionysus, provided this release in their world through the manifestations of wine, women, and song.
Without these simple earthy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women were reported as performing weird fantastic things, what miracles and more than
miracles while under Dionysus influence (665 66). Each one of those different mystical acts they
performed represented a different aspect of Dionysus divinity. The women struck the ground and
wine sprang forth for them to drink, they tore live cattle limb from limb, and flew among other
things. The wine was representative of Dionysus gift of wine to mortals. The animals were a
reminder of Dionysus love for raw animal flesh. The women flying were simply examples of
Dionysus awesome powers and the things mortals can do when under the mystical high you
experience under Dionysus control. These awesome acts were spread far and wide by the shepherds
who witnessed them first hand. The stories they told of the miracles performed instigated a
powerful and destructive curiosity in Pentheus. His curiosity was born out of his attempts to
suppress his human side that was all Dionysus represented. Pentheus became so focused on denying
his irrational and animalistic values that they eventually became his obsession. What should have
been a natural human high turned into a perversion of the normal mortal experience with Dionysus.
Pentheus manic desire to view the acts of the women on the mountain was the manifestation of his
perverted sense of pleasure. This voyeuristic desire could only be satisfied through experiencing

Self Realization in Yeats An Irish Airman Foresees His Death
An Irish Airman Foresees His Death was written by William Butler Yeats in memory of Major
Robert Gregory who was killed in action on January 23, 1918 while fighting on the Italian front
during World War I (Ellmann and O Clair, fn. 154). Yeatswas close with the Gregory family, but
particularly with Lady Gregory due to their partnership in establishing the Irish National Theatre.
Although Major Gregory is never explicitly mentioned in this poem, it is a commonly held belief
that the airman in the poem is supposed to be him (Stock 118). This poem is not considered an
elegy, but has been referred to as a tragic soliloquy (Ramazani 84). It is termed thus because the

The airman is not affected by this propaganda, though, as he claims that Nor law, nor duty bade
me fight, / Nor public men, nor cheering crowds (9 10). The airman does not enter the war with
any personal dreams of helping his own people. He is of the opinion that, no matter what way
the war turns out, his people will not be affected too much one way or the other. This feeling is
expressed when he says, My country is Kiltartan Cross, / My countrymen Kiltartan s poor, / No
likely end could bring them loss / Or leave them happier than before (5 8). The Irish airman does not
enter the war hoping to bring about any significant change for his own people.
In many ways, he is very aloof and separates himself from the whole situation. A. G. Stock agrees
with this interpretation, saying that the airman...is presented as a type: he is Robert Gregory,
but also he stands for the lonely aloofness which was part of Yeats ideal (118 119). The airman
does not seem to care about the politics behind the war. He seems to enter the war on a whim,
out of desire to do something exciting and reckless with his life. He is going to fight in the war
in order to prove to himself that he can do it. He says that it was A lonely impulse of delight
/ Drove to this tumult in the clouds (11 12). The language itself [of the poem], bleakly indifferent,
inexorably denying all public or private causes, encloses,

Freud s Psychosexual Stages Of Development
Sigmund Freud was an Austrian neurologist born on the sixth of May in 1856. He began his
researches of the human mind in 1881, while America and Europe reformed insane asylums and
became more fascinated with unnatural psychological states. He first studied nervous diseases
examining fish and simultaneously attaining his degree at the University of Vienna, and in the late
nineteenth century and early twentieth century, Freud explored the human psyche far more than
other neurologists during his time, which earned him the title of the founding father of
psychoanalysis. Eventually he explored conflicts from a person s adolescence and how they had an
astounding effect on adulthood and created what became known to be his Psychosexual Stages of
Development.
Freud s psychosexual stages of development is a concept derived from the belief that any problems
that occurred through adulthood were the primary result of experiences in early childhood
matriculation. He gathered that the human species went through five stages of psychosexual
development, and that during each stage of this development, experienced a sense of euphoria in a
particular body part more than others. The areas of our bodies that felt this sensation were known
as erogenous zones, which were specific parts of the human anatomy such as the mouth, the anus,
and the genitals, that contained vigorous pleasure emitting qualities at specific stages of
development in accordance with personality development focused on the

I read the book, Voices in the Park , by Anthony Browne for this assignment. I recreated a scene

important to the text because it illustrates the free spirit of the youngsters. In fact, playing in the
park symbolizes freedom from their parents. Charles and Smudge s are able to run wild, escaping
their parent s negativity. The mediums I used when creating my artwork are magic markers,
colored pencils, crayon, and pastels. First, I sketched the picture in the upper left with magic
markers. I used thin markers, so I was able to add detail to the drawing. In fact, the elements in the

The Effects Of Uv Light Protection On The Microbial...
A small amount of research has been conducted on air as a habitat compared to other environments
such as soil, water, and sediments (1). Air makes up the atmosphere and is composed of
approximately 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, .93 % argon, and .038% carbon dioxide (http:/
/www.space.com/17683 earth atmosphere.html). In addition, air carries dust particles, pollutants
and plant grains. Air presents a hostile environment for the sustaining of metabolically active and
reproducing microbes. The air is composed of UV radiation, which results in the development of
UV light protection in the microbial populations that reside in this environment (1). Due to the
conditions of air, microbes that inhabit air are capable of adapting to wider pH ranges. They are
also capable of living in a wide range of temperatures due to varying altitudes (1). A majority of
microbes that inhabit the air are in the Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Actinobacteria phylum.
These microbes include, Pseudomonas syringae, Pantoea agglomerans, Propionibacterium acnes,
Agrobacterium tumefaciens and Sphingomonas echnoides (2).
A majority of the diversity of air is misunderstood by ecologist. Yet, the limited amount of research
conducted on the diversity of the atmosphere supports that air is highly diverse. Samples taken
from the atmosphere were dominated by plant and bacteria related sequences, indicating a highly
variable 16sRNA gene diversity (2). When samples are taken from the atmosphere, there is a trend

Implementing Generic And Generic Drugs
INTRODUCTION
Over the last few years, the United States Supreme Court has struggled to determine when a
manufacturer is liable, and should be held accountable, for violating the duty to warn consumers
about the dangers associated with brand and generic drugs through their labeling. Further, the Court
has grappled with determining which channels are available to consumers when a drug
manufacturer breaches their duty. With the swarm of inconsistencies set forth by the Court in each
newly decided case, and a proposed rule regarding generic changes being effected preparing to take
effect Fall 2015, it is difficult to determine if the necessary guidance for drug manufacturers and
consumers has been provided.

Second, laws such as the learned intermediary doctrine state, and courts have widely held, that a
prescription drug manufacturer s duty to warn runs to the physician, the learned intermediary , not
directly to the patient. Only one state, New Mexico, has rejected the doctrine calling it outdated
due to the recent increase in direct to consumer marketing. The Court has struggled to define the
distinction, if any, between generic and branded drugs in terms of state tort liability and failure to
warn claims. In Wyeth v. Levine, the Court decided that the FDA s drug labeling requirements for
brand drugs do not preempt state tort claims related to the dissemination of safety information. In
essence, brand name manufacturers will be held liable for failure to update their warning labels in
an effective and efficient manner. Just two short years later, the Court contradicts its decision in
Wyeth, and defines a distinction for generic drug products, which applies federal preemption
principles in Pliva v. Mensing. Finally, in Mutual Pharamceutical v. Bartlett, the Court effectively
barred generic failure to warn, and defective design claims in state courts. Currently, under state law,

State Anxiety And Anxiety Disorders
Evaluation.
Since the 1980 s there has been a major increase in research on anxiety. Ever since, special clinics
have been introduced in order to help deal with anxiety disorders. It is suggested that the growth in
research is due to anxiety being regarded as one of the most prominent and pervasive emotions,
causing distress and negatively affecting large numbers of people. As stated by Rachman (2004),
anxiety is described as the experience of unpleasant feelings and the unsettling anticipation of a
threatening but vague event. Anxiety can be experienced in many different ways, such as feeling
tense, uncertain, and perhaps, fearful at the thought of a particular phenomenon or event. There are
two main types of anxieties; state anxiety and trait anxiety. Endler Kocovski (2001) have
explained that state and trait anxiety both result from mental assessments of a potential threat.
Unlike trait, state anxiety is described as a temporary condition, where once the perceived
threatening object or event goes away, the individual no longer experiences the symptoms of
anxiety. Individuals who exhibit state anxiety will normally feel anxious when going to job
interviews, speaking in front of large crowds or sitting exams. State anxiety is considered to be
useful at particular times, by making us more alert and enhance our performance, thus creating a
fight or flight response (Rachman, 2004). However, in some cases where the feeling of anxiety is
too overwhelming, it can have the

The Poems Advice For My Son By J. Peter Meinke And Daddy
The poems Advice to My Son by J. Peter Meinke and Daddy by Sylvia Plath are the closest to
polar opposites in regards to father figures. The father in Advice to My Son seems to be very
loving and concerned about his sons future, while the father in Daddy is quite the opposite.
Sylvia Plath paints her father in a very evil, overbearing light. Her words ooze with disdain and
hate for her father. The juxtaposition of these two poems shine light on the authors personal
relationship with their fathers. J. Peter Meinke s Advice to my Son is a very beautiful poem. By
his words, he seems to be guiding his son through life. We get little to no information about the
son in this poem. However, based on Meinke s word usage, I would have to say this poem was
written in a critical time in his son s life. A time when a poem like this wold have had a large
impact. Meinke seems to be using everything he s learned in his life to better his son through this
poem. My favorite lines of this poem comes from the very beginning. The trick is, to live your
days as if each one may be your last. This should resonate deeply in anyone who reads this. Life
truly is short and through these lines, I believe Meinke is telling his son to do what makes him
happy. Live life to the fullest is what he is saying. Then later on he slips some irony in by saying
that life also goes slow. Life goes fast for the young man, but slow for the old. So Meinke tells his
son to plan ahead for old age. All in

An Unwinnable War
As America find herself in today s War on Terrorism, one can easily find a number of similarities
between today s situation and the war in Vietnam. As the Taliban steadily loses control and power
over Afghanistan, it becomes exceedingly important to discuss potential replacement governments.
Afghanistan is, like Vietnamin the 50 s and 60 s, a very volatile country full of a variety of people
speaking different dialects and practicing different religions. It is very important, then, that the
government that is installed is one that is capable of maintaining some type of control or authority

Of course the irony is that Diem took steps to prevent the 1956 unification election, which is
normally a prerequisite for a democracy (Starr 39). He did stage an election for himself, but it was
certainly rigged being that Saigon with roughly 405,000 registered voters, somehow cast 605,000
votes for Diem (Starr 39).
Diem was therefore determined to be the best man for the job of preventing communism in S.
Vietnam. One reason is most likely because he was Westernized being that he lived for some
time in the Mayknoll Seminaries in New Jersey and New York State (Genesis 116). He quickly
gained the approval of American Catholics such as Cardinal Spellman, which certified Diem as an
important anti Communist (Scheer 116). Some Americans were skeptical of Diem at the time, but
as Secretary John Foster Dulles simply stated, the United States could simply not find a better man
to carry out its designs and Diem is only means US sees to save South Vietnam and counteract
revolution. US sees no one else who can (Gettleman 133). This is, however, a little unsettling being
that it sounds as though the U.S. merely settled on Diem in lieu of a better candidate.
The American people then, perhaps influenced by the media, agreed with their government s
approval of Diem. In the June 29, 1959 edition of Newsweek, Diem was deemed one of the ablest

Four Dimensionssions Of Film Sound In The 1960 s Film Psycho
Answer 1:
There are four dimensions of film sound that can be found in this clip from the 1960 s film Psycho,
these are rhythm, fidelity, space, and time. When directing this scene Alfred Hitchcock had to make
a lot of decisions regarding sound in it. Each of these choices has different implications and will
affect the audience differently.
Let s start with fidelity, I believe Hitchcock purposely implemented a lot of fidelity in this scene. I
think he used common and familiar environmental sounds in the background while Marion was
completing mundane tasks before entering the shower. This is apparent when Marion ripped a
piece of paper out of a notebook, tore it up, and then flush it down the toilet. Hitchcock chose to
allow the audience to hear these sounds for a few reasons. First, it provides the viewer with a more
complete experience. Second, it keeps the viewer s attention more present because the scene is
more realistic and natural. Lastly, Hitchcock used these sounds as the camera followed Marion to
the shower, this allows time and action to continue smoothly over a series of shots making the
temporal duration rhythmic.
Next is space and how sound affects the viewer s perspective of it. While in the shower the loudest
noise is the water falling, after a few seconds the viewer gets used to the tranquil sound of the
water falling. By making the sound of the water so loud it makes the viewer feel like they are
close, maybe even in the shower. Loudness is related to

The Influx Of Children From Central America
The influx of children to the United States from Central America and how the U.S. is handling it
Between 1st October, 2013 and 31 July, 2014, the United States Customs and Border Protection
reported that likely 63 thousand unaccompanied children, most of them coming from the Central
America region, crossed into the United States through the southern border. The figure is a
representation of double the total number of children who immigrated to the US in similar period
on the previous years, 2012 (Greenhill). The increasing number of children immigrants into the US
has revitalized a rancorous nationwide debate regarding the US policies on immigration. President
Obama s critics have been proposing for major immigration reforms to curb the increasing number
of children immigrants into the US (Lightfoot). They argue that the situation has stretched the legal
and social services receiving the migrants which in turn incurs costs on the tax payers money. The
issue of influx of children into the US comes from Central America comes at a time when the
authorities at the southern body record a historic lowest overall detentions of undocumented
immigrants.
Some people have termed the increasing influx of children into the US has been termed as a

Precious in terms of her physical, cognitive, social and moral development? Provide very specific
examples.
Precious mother exhibit s extremely authoritarian parenting style and some aspects of neglectful
parenting. Her authoritarian parenting comes in the form of her need to always be in control
and exerts that control on Precious. She always wants things to be done her way and does not
give precious a chance to have a say in anything. She tells Precious she should not go to school
but rather rely on welfare checks. She wants precious to cook for her whenever she wants. She

Finally, she had people who understood her and were willing to listen to her. She had people
who believed in her, stood by her when she had her baby. The girls were not perfect, she had
some not so good moments with them but even in their imperfections, they were people she
could relate with. Being able to read her story to them, and hear their story, gave her a sense of
belonging. When Ms Rain asked her how she feels participating in class she said I feel here . This
is an indication of a sense of belonging.
4. Which structure of Freudian personality theory would best describe Precious? Her mother?
Freud s Id is the most appropriate personality theory for Precious mother. Her actions were
irrational, selfish, and impulsive, although totally conscious. She transferred her anger and
aggression towards her daughter, throwing things at her, hitting her, being inhumane towards her
and her own grandchildren. Her actions were motivated by sexual drives and the desire not to lose
her man. Precious on the other hand has some similarities with Freud s ego . She has been through
a lot in her young life. Although she has unconscious thoughts that she uses to escape reality, avoid
pain and unpleasant situation, she uses all that energy and drive to make reality better. She
developed her cognitive skills because she imagined herself as becoming famous and a well
admired person. Her self esteem improves overtime. Whenever negative emotions, anxiety and

Casino Gaming In Atlantic City
Over the years, casino and gaming has made major developments in the hospitality industry. With
this growing trend we ve seen full service hotels, retail, and entertainment offerings involving more
gaming entertainment. On the American Gambling Association website, there is an article on
Casino Gaming in Atlantic City. In 1978, New Jersey legalized gambling, and Atlantic City has
become America s second largest gambling city. With all the buzz in this big gambling town there
are positive and negative effects to the community.
Casinos in Atlantic City have brought in incredible amounts of revenue. Casino gaming has
generated $9.3 billion in tax revenue for essential services. This money has supported programs for
the local school budget, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But it has some draw backs as well. Although numerous amenities are available to guests who are
staying in the hotels, many don t venture out like most tourists. As article by The Atlantic reads,
Casinos don t encourage non gaming businesses to open nearby, because the people who most
often visit casinos do not wander out to visit other shops and businesses. A casino is not like a
movie theater or a sports stadium, offering a time limited amusement. It is designed to be an all
absorbing environment that does not release its customers until they have exhausted their money.
And even though revenue in the city is booming, the rest of New Jersey doesn t benefit much at
all. Professionals claim that no one should look to the gambling industry to revive cities, because
that s not what casinos are meant to do. Which is interesting because this is the reason why
gambling was legalized in Atlantic City the first place, because of its dwindling economy.
When neighboring states started to allow gambling in 2006, Atlantic City became less of a hot spot
and within the past two years has shut down four casinos in the community. On top of that,
residents complain about traffic, crime, and noise and air pollution, blaming the city life that
casinos bring in. Running a business of this type is risky when the competition is high. And these
days regional gaming is all about convenience and appeal, which Atlantic

The Ku Klux Klan (KK)
The Ku Klux Klan( K.K.K.) is a domestic terrorist organization established during the
Reconstruction era. Slavery was no longer a legal business during this time period but freedom
was hardly available to millions of newly freed blacks. The membership of the hate group was
dominated by lawmakers, more specifically republicans from Pulaski, Tennessee. White men and
women dressed in white robes and cone shaped masks and often rallied at night to terrorize black
communities. The mindsets of Klan members were centered on black and white no metaphor.
They felt that the white race was superior and blacks were inferior. In the southern states black
people were being murdered and terrorized by the thousands and because the Klan had direct
influences with the local police forces, judges, and medical professionals, there was no justice for
black victims.
The American government has a greater concern with combatting foreign terrorism than it does
with combatting domestic terrorist groups such as the KKK. Osama Bin Laden was a Saudi
Arabian Muslim extremist, who orchestrated multiple well planned attacks against America on
September 11, 2001. The 9/11 attack was one event that captured the entire nation but, the KKK has

Existentialism In In The Waiting Room And The Daydreams Of...
In both Elizabeth Bishop s In the Waiting Room and Clarice Lispector s The Daydreams of a
Drunk Woman , we are exposed to speakers who, through an epiphany of their role in existence,
discover a sense of self. With the geographic difference between Bishop and Lispector, and yet such
similar themes, it could be contended that their writings are evidence that both existentialismand
exploration of the image of one s self are major themes in twentieth century literary writing and
thought. Existentialism, a philosophical ideology conceptualized by Jean Paul Sarte, encapsulates
most thought processes where the individual is obliged to make a choice as though he were
choosing for all mankind (Arnold, Jean Paul Sarte: Overview). Put simply, Sarte s concept of
existentialism is the thought process by which humans find themselves existing, and the analysis
of their existence itself (Tulloch, Sartrian Existentialism). This analysis of existence found itself
in many writings during the twentieth century, and acts a driving force in both Bishop s In the
Waiting Room and Lispector s The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman . Elizabeth Bishop is a poet
native to Worcester. Her mother was widowed when Elizabeth was merely eight months old, and
as a result, slowly fell into a string of mental issues that would cause her to be institutionalized
until the end of her life. This resulted in Elizabeth moving in with her grandparents in Nova Scotia
at the age of eight before briefly moving back

Essay On Xoxy Paine
Created to help grow recognition of the Museum, the project of Modern Sculpture Initiative
collected identifiable sculptures in the Kansas City Sculpture Park at the Nelson Atkins Museum
(Paine 15). This park holds pieces from Henry Moore and the duo Claes Oldenburg and Coosje
Van Bruggen. As a gift to retired Martin Friedman, who was the advisor of the Modern Sculpture
Initiative and director of the Walker, he got to commission a work by the artist of his choosing
(Roxy Paine s), 2010). With help from the Hall Family Foundation, a dendroid installation called
Ferment by Roxy Paine was the newest addition in 2011 (Paine 17). Since Paine has 24 dendroid
sculptures spread across North America, it is an honor to have one that gave excitement and
quality to the park (Roxy Paine s, 2010). Curator Jan Schall expressed, Roxy Paine is one of the
most important young sculptors today. Ferment will be the reigning monarch on that hillside. It is
an outstanding addition to the collection that will enlighten, perplex and delight everyone who sees
it. ( Roxy Paine s , 2010) When a person goes to the Nelson Atkins Museum, they may see a tall,

Uncontrollable Human Desires In We By Yevgeny Zamyatin
The plot of the novel We by Yevgeny Zamyatin has a lot to due with the theme of uncontrollable
human nature being driven by desires. In the dystopian society the novel portrays, life is
drastically different from contemporary society. In short, the world went into a large war and
99.8 percent of the entire population was exterminated, and the survivors of the war created a
new society. This new society is highly totalitarianistic and controls all aspects of the citizens
lives , people are given numbers for names and almost all aspects of life are controlled by the
government. The rulers of the society are known as the United State, whose leader is known as
the Well Doer. The United State has a firm belief that all desires are irrationalities and are
mercessily targeted. And though desires are considered illegal in the society the narrator of the
story and main character D 503 experiences the overwhelming desire of love. D 503 is a well skilled
engineer, yet an unconventional individual who is constantly afraid of his uncontrollable sexual
impulses, caused by his humannature. Arguably the entire novel s plot is created because of D
503 s uncontrollable sexual feelings for the character I 330, who is a member of the
underground resistance. She leads him to join the resistance for a while, before he finds out he
has a disease called Imagination that all in all had caused him to fall in love for I 330, One word

Justice And Justice In Roscoe Pound s A Theory Of Justice
III. JUSTICE WITH AND WITHOUT LAW
Legal films narrate stories that have been made dramatic by invoking the audience s sense of
justice and injustice. Since the early Greek tragedies, justice betrayed or denied, sought and
vindicated, has been a central element of drama . But what does justice truly mean? Rawls (in his A
Theory of Justice) equates justice with fairness, while Dworkin (in Justice for Hedgehogs) talks of
justice encompassing equality, liberty and most importantly being inseparable from law. More
recently, Roscoe Pound (in his Justice According to Law) highlights the possibility of both justice
with law and justice without law.
Pound states that there was justice even before the law came into being, and even now, the laws
are amended or moulded for every unique situation that presents itself to the system. So, while a
certain measure of justice may be achieved by following the law since it is uniform, ... Show more

sense that while revolutionaries apply force to overthrow an established order and create a new,

December, 1986 after the Government of Bangladesh allowed the private sector to operate in
the insurance sector in 1984 to carry on the business of insurance in the Private Sector. A brief
explanation as to the growth of life insurance business in Bangladesh is in order here.
Bangladesh declared independence from the Pakistani rules on March 26, 1971 following which
she had to witness a bloody liberation struggle with the occupation forces lasting for 9 months
before they were defeated. Insurance business which was exclusively carried on in private sector
before independence was nationalized after liberation in 1972 primarily to address the emerging
situation of eroding public confidence in the industry that was left staggeringly short of resources
in the face of huge losses caused by the war of liberation. After a series of experimentation, a state
owned body, namely Jiban Bima Corporation (JBC), established in May, 1973 for transacting the
life insurance business, took over the assets and liabilities under life portfolios of all erstwhile
private insurance companies and started business in its own name. However, things did not improve;

her with arm. The males then climb on the females back, the female is to allow this happening
while the male starts this process. The hectocotylus is inserted under the females mantle and
spermatophores are let into the female s oviduct. The female then lays between 50 100 eggs and

planktonic paralarvae. The female then dies as she cannot eat while she guards her eggs. The

The Abstract Latent Factor ( Lf ) Models

Southern University at New Orleans
Abstract I will discuss the basis of an organizational theory as it applies to the criminal justice
system. I am discussing and giving a clear understanding of the criminal justice system as an
organization of a bureaucratic management system with hierarchies and processes of inputs,
processes, and outputs within one aspect of the criminal justice system i.e. police, within one city. I
will also discuss how New Orleans Police Department was created throughout history and what
organizational theory has been implemented. This is a brief history of the New Orleans Police
Department and why a bureaucratic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After being admitted into the Union, New Orleans created a police force organization that
resembled a small army. The main reason for this type of policing was to control the slave
populations that outnumbered the white population.
Throughout the years the police force evolved and the New Orleans Police Department was
created in 1852. This allowed for a consolidation of independent police jurisdiction and was apart
of a reform of all city government levels. To create an atmosphere of internal honesty a hierarchy
was put in place to hold employees accountable and to crack down on local offenders of the law.
This organizational structure added to the control of employees and held the hierarchy accountable.
With the control, clear policy and procedures and consistency in organizing rules it helped the
police department to fashion a bureaucracy in action.
Conclusion
The Organizational theory of Bureaucracy management as explained by Webber, creates controls of
internal accountability that has levels of supervisory control. This is one aspect that to aid in the
processes of inputs and outputs that streamline the process from one criminal justice sector to
another. The New Orleans Police Department is an example of bureaucracy as an organizational
theory. As the

As the development of the world, sustainable development is becoming more and more remarkable
among the public. Meanwhile the environmental impacts on worldwide mega sport events are
catching an increasing attention. However the environmental impacts are complex and difficult to

and economic legacies (Collins, Jones, Munday, 2009). In the recent decade, several significant
mega sports events took place which related to issues of environmental impacts, sustainability and
greening events, such as several Olympic Games, Rugby World Cup, and FIFA World Cup. Since
the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad defined the Beijing

The way this is depicted is through his exploration use of magic, the amazing symbolism of the colour used and the service of sound. The representation of these allows, the audience to be more thankful to this film and understand its diversity in the world that it once was. Paper man , is presented in a reflection of the world through the exploration use of magic. This is best illustrated through the world of 2012 because of how black and white the world was. This film was created explaining and unfolding the world to a black and white film which gives it a sense of a romantic genre. As the use of magic is portrayed, the audience get a feeling of hope and happiness as we too feel the realistic emotions as the main character in this short film. Three quarters if the way through, when things are looking down and sad, the little spark we call Disney starts up and help two people rekindle the love at first sight. The use of magic makes the audience feel as though nothing is as it seems, that things can get better and to always, always, believe in yourself and never give up. Nonetheless, this film represents the world at the time through the use of magic! This films diversity and reflection of the world has dramatically changed based on the range of colour this film offers. The portrayal of the film is based on the way colour has genuinely symbolised the significance. The little bit of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How To Stop High School From Stifling Creativity Analysis Creativity is the base of human development. School s were first created to help their people to be skillful and mentally capable to endure all problems. Times have changed and the morals of education have altered as well. In today s world students from the U.S. are taught and pushed to memorize information instead of being pushed to learn how to think critically through it. Professor s should emphasize more on the importance of ingenuity, than the importance of getting a good grade. The beginning stages of person s life is when one is at their highest potential for developing creativity. Tristan de Frondeville, consultant for PBL associates, called the time that students spend dozing off in class as dead time . Dead time starts from one student and tends to spread because other classmates would get the impression that full participation is unnecessary. By not acting on the dead time , students reinforce the idea of memorization and cramming instead of understanding the information. Eliminating dead time , expands the valuable time classes have, puts both the student and the teacher s time to correct use, and helps students use each part of their brains to learn more skills. In the article, How to Keep Kids Engaged in Class , there are said to be four different levels that categorized the four different students. The first level is the highest level which make up the students who actively participate in class, but as well as out of class, the second level are the responsible students, the third level are the students who pass the class by doing the bare minimum, and the last level are the students who do everything to not have to put in any effort into the class. Moon Stone Research Paper Shelton Hawkins Jr. English 3 Pd. 5 Mrs. Ermanni 12 May 2017 Moonstone In mostly all of the 19th century the social ranking of an individual is what set them apart from others. An example of something that would show a high social rank would be one s jewelry. Back in the Victorian age the most precious thing an individual could have was jewelry. John Plotz says, On the one hand, through jewelry one establishes a sense of personal worth and identity. On the other hand, jewelry s very elegance lies in its impersonality (Plotz 26). Anything that could easily be transported was also very important to the Victorians. Victorians were the first people to so closely identified with their belongings (Cohen 38). • 14. Scarlet Letter Rhetorical Analysis To depict Hester Prynne s inner turmoil, Nathaniel Hawthorne uses many different types of rhetorical devices, such as pathos, simile, and metaphor. He also uses an abundance amount of syntax, irony and tone. Hawthorne uses metaphors and similes often in chapter five, to exaggerate Hester s chaos inside. The arrangement of words and phrases Hawthorne uses makes the reader think and try to understand Hester s tension. Hawthorne describes that Hester feels like the chain that bound her here was of iron links, and galling to her inmost soul. This doesn t mean that she is bound by actual chains, but instead it means that she feels as if she is stuck in Boston, and ends up staying in a cottage on the outskirts of the town. He then continues with, although she hid the secret from herself, and grew pale whenever it struggled out of her heart, like a serpent from its home. In these statements Hawthorne is using the metaphor and simile to give the reader a view into Hester s inner turmoil.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This makes zero sense, how could something, or someone, that convicted you, hold you up through your trials? Hawthorne uses this to give the reader a look into the depth of Hester s thoughts. Later Hawthorne writes that, her needlework was seen on the ruff of the Governor; military men wore it on their scarfs, and the minister on his band; it decked baby s little cap; it was shut up, to be mildewed and molder away, in the coffins of the dead. There s irony in this statement, because before this Hawthorne points out that as Hester walks out of the prison she thinks to herself how she would become the general symbol at which the preacher and moralist might point, and in which they might vivify and embody their images of woman s frailty and sinful ... Research Proposal Yichen Hu Yichen.hu2@gmail.com u5986120 Project Title: Developing statistical algorithm for linking dynamic data with temporal information Introduction Social genomes refer to the digital footprints of people in the society [1]. Since the birth, we interact with various social entities include government, businesses, and individuals. Traces of our social interactions aggregately indicating what kind of social being we are, analogously as how our genomes indicating what kind of biological being we are. Population informatics is informatics on social genomes, it is an emerging multidisciplinary field involves social science, statistics, data science and others. By analysing population databases with computational tools and quantitative methods, population informatics answer questions about the society, make forecasting of future changes and provide insights for politics and business decisions. Problem to address Population databases are scattered across various organisations, and their presentations are continuously changing alongside the evolving of the organisations. To form a social genome with comprehensive information, techniques are needed to link dynamic data across different population databases for each natural being. Data quality has significant influence on the performance of the system [2], and appropriate data linkage techniques can improve data quality, enrich data, and reduce costs in data acquisition [3]. Racism In The Kite Runner Racism and discrimination were incredibly prominent in Afghanistan at the time of the writing /publishing of The Kite Runner and is still prominent today, not only in some parts of Afghanistan but also around the world. No matter how much the modern world molds their views to become more and more open and tolerant, people still discriminate against others due to their looks and beliefs. Hosseini portrays these conditions of racism and discrimination in The Kite Runner through interactions between Amir and his servant friend Hassan, and also through interactions between Hassan and others, who is often the victim of racist actions and dialogue. The socioeconomic conditions in Afghanistanduring this time show the inequality between the majority (Sunni Muslims/Pashtuns in this case) and the minority (Shi a Muslims/Hazaras) and how people discriminate against each other based on how they look and what their religious beliefs are. In addition, air carries dust particles, pollutants and plant grains. Air presents a hostile environment for the sustaining of metabolically active and reproducing microbes. The air is composed of UV radiation, which results in the development of UV light protection in the microbial populations that reside in this environment (1). Due to the conditions of air, microbes that inhabit air are capable of adapting to wider pH ranges. They are also capable of living in a wide range of temperatures due to varying altitudes (1). A majority of microbes that inhabit the air are in the Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Actinobacteria phylum. With the swarm of inconsistencies set forth by the Court in each newly decided case, and a proposed rule regarding generic changes being effected preparing to take effect Fall 2015, it is difficult to determine if the necessary guidance for drug manufacturers and consumers has been provided. Second, laws such as the learned intermediary doctrine state, and courts have widely held, that a prescription drug manufacturer s duty to warn runs to the physician, the learned intermediary , not directly to the patient. Only one state, New Mexico, has rejected the doctrine calling it outdated due to the recent increase in direct to consumer marketing. The Court has struggled to define the distinction, if any, between generic and branded drugs in terms of state tort liability and failure to warn claims. In Wyeth v. Levine, the Court decided that the FDA s drug labeling requirements for brand drugs do not preempt state tort claims related to the dissemination of safety information. In essence, brand name manufacturers will be held liable for failure to update their warning labels in an effective and efficient manner. Just two short years later, the Court contradicts its decision in Wyeth, and defines a distinction for generic drug products, which applies federal preemption principles in Pliva v. Mensing. Finally, in Mutual Pharamceutical v. Bartlett, the Court effectively barred generic failure to warn, and defective design claims in state courts. Currently, under state law, generic drug product ... • 37. State Anxiety And Anxiety Disorders Evaluation. Since the 1980 s there has been a major increase in research on anxiety. Ever since, special clinics have been introduced in order to help deal with anxiety disorders. It is suggested that the growth in research is due to anxiety being regarded as one of the most prominent and pervasive emotions, causing distress and negatively affecting large numbers of people. As stated by Rachman (2004), anxiety is described as the experience of unpleasant feelings and the unsettling anticipation of a threatening but vague event. Anxiety can be experienced in many different ways, such as feeling tense, uncertain, and perhaps, fearful at the thought of a particular phenomenon or event. There are two main types of anxieties; state anxiety and trait anxiety. Endler Kocovski (2001) have explained that state and trait anxiety both result from mental assessments of a potential threat. Unlike trait, state anxiety is described as a temporary condition, where once the perceived threatening object or event goes away, the individual no longer experiences the symptoms of anxiety. Individuals who exhibit state anxiety will normally feel anxious when going to job interviews, speaking in front of large crowds or sitting exams. State anxiety is considered to be useful at particular times, by making us more alert and enhance our performance, thus creating a fight or flight response (Rachman, 2004). • 38. The Poems Advice For My Son By J. Peter Meinke And Daddy The poems Advice to My Son by J. Peter Meinke and Daddy by Sylvia Plath are the closest to polar opposites in regards to father figures. The father in Advice to My Son seems to be very loving and concerned about his sons future, while the father in Daddy is quite the opposite. Sylvia Plath paints her father in a very evil, overbearing light. Her words ooze with disdain and hate for her father. The juxtaposition of these two poems shine light on the authors personal relationship with their fathers. J. Peter Meinke s Advice to my Son is a very beautiful poem. By his words, he seems to be guiding his son through life. We get little to no information about the son in this poem. However, based on Meinke s word usage, I would have to say this poem was written in a critical time in his son s life. A time when a poem like this wold have had a large impact. Meinke seems to be using everything he s learned in his life to better his son through this poem. My favorite lines of this poem comes from the very beginning. The trick is, to live your days as if each one may be your last. This should resonate deeply in anyone who reads this. Life truly is short and through these lines, I believe Meinke is telling his son to do what makes him happy. Live life to the fullest is what he is saying. Then later on he slips some irony in by saying that life also goes slow. Life goes fast for the young man, but slow for the old. So Meinke tells his son to plan ahead for old age. All in ... As the Taliban steadily loses control and power over Afghanistan, it becomes exceedingly important to discuss potential replacement governments. Afghanistan is, like Vietnamin the 50 s and 60 s, a very volatile country full of a variety of people speaking different dialects and practicing different religions. Of course the irony is that Diem took steps to prevent the 1956 unification election, which is normally a prerequisite for a democracy (Starr 39). He did stage an election for himself, but it was certainly rigged being that Saigon with roughly 405,000 registered voters, somehow cast 605,000 votes for Diem (Starr 39). Diem was therefore determined to be the best man for the job of preventing communism in S. Vietnam. One reason is most likely because he was Westernized being that he lived for some time in the Mayknoll Seminaries in New Jersey and New York State (Genesis 116). He quickly gained the approval of American Catholics such as Cardinal Spellman, which certified Diem as an important anti Communist (Scheer 116). Some Americans were skeptical of Diem at the time, but as Secretary John Foster Dulles simply stated, the United States could simply not find a better man to carry out its designs and Diem is only means US sees to save South Vietnam and counteract revolution. US sees no one else who can (Gettleman 133). This is, however, a little unsettling being that it sounds as though the U.S. merely settled on Diem in lieu of a better candidate. • 42. Four Dimensionssions Of Film Sound In The 1960 s Film Psycho Answer 1: There are four dimensions of film sound that can be found in this clip from the 1960 s film Psycho, these are rhythm, fidelity, space, and time. When directing this scene Alfred Hitchcock had to make a lot of decisions regarding sound in it. Each of these choices has different implications and will affect the audience differently. Let s start with fidelity, I believe Hitchcock purposely implemented a lot of fidelity in this scene. I think he used common and familiar environmental sounds in the background while Marion was completing mundane tasks before entering the shower. This is apparent when Marion ripped a piece of paper out of a notebook, tore it up, and then flush it down the toilet. Hitchcock chose to allow the audience to hear these sounds for a few reasons. First, it provides the viewer with a more complete experience. Second, it keeps the viewer s attention more present because the scene is more realistic and natural. Lastly, Hitchcock used these sounds as the camera followed Marion to the shower, this allows time and action to continue smoothly over a series of shots making the temporal duration rhythmic. Next is space and how sound affects the viewer s perspective of it. While in the shower the loudest noise is the water falling, after a few seconds the viewer gets used to the tranquil sound of the water falling. By making the sound of the water so loud it makes the viewer feel like they are close, maybe even in the shower. Loudness is related to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In both Elizabeth Bishop s In the Waiting Room and Clarice Lispector s The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman , we are exposed to speakers who, through an epiphany of their role in existence, discover a sense of self. With the geographic difference between Bishop and Lispector, and yet such similar themes, it could be contended that their writings are evidence that both existentialismand exploration of the image of one s self are major themes in twentieth century literary writing and thought. Existentialism, a philosophical ideology conceptualized by Jean Paul Sarte, encapsulates most thought processes where the individual is obliged to make a choice as though he were choosing for all mankind (Arnold, Jean Paul Sarte: Overview). Put simply, Sarte s concept of existentialism is the thought process by which humans find themselves existing, and the analysis of their existence itself (Tulloch, Sartrian Existentialism). This analysis of existence found itself in many writings during the twentieth century, and acts a driving force in both Bishop s In the Waiting Room and Lispector s The Daydreams of a Drunk Woman . This allowed for a consolidation of independent police jurisdiction and was apart of a reform of all city government levels. To create an atmosphere of internal honesty a hierarchy was put in place to hold employees accountable and to crack down on local offenders of the law.
