Erectile Dysfunction
It refers to the inability of a male to sustain erection consistently and repeatedly. It is a common
problem and is reported that it affects around 18 30 million men. It exerts considerable effects on
the quality of life. Most of the time people are reluctant to talk about it to others even to doctors.
This is why it is important to address this problem openly.
What are the mechanics of erectile dysfunction?
The penis contains two cylinder shaped chambers called corpora cavernosa which runs along the
length of the penis. They contain arteries which bring the blood to the penis and veins which take
the blood away from the penis. When there is sexual stimulation either physically or mentally our
brain sends a message to the nerves in the penis to cause the relaxation of the penile arteries. This
increases the blood flow to the penis making it stiff and hard, thus achieving erection. There is
simultaneous contraction of specialized muscles located in the penis which compresses the veins
and reduces the outflow of blood from the

Contemplative Importance
The Importance of Contemplative Practices in an Academic Environment (pt. 1)
Contemplative practices can take several forms, including meditation, prayers, and certain physical
exercises such as yoga. Before taking Education in the USA, I had spent very little time
participating in these practices except for the occasional yoga session my former tennis coach
would instruct me to attend. However, these were cases of me superficially participating in that
practice. Since participating in our Wednesday discussions which include a 5 to 10 minute period of
meditation, the what s present/what are we experiencing? exercises, and occasionally, the
placement of different objects and words in the center of the room I have become increasingly
aware of the importance of these practices in relation to both the material we are covering in
lectures as well as our individual beings. In my opinion, the respective purposes of these different
contemplative practices have been to cultivate a sense of mental calmness while taking a break
from our busy lives, identify the importance of fully embracing the present moment, and expose us
to different viewpoints and reactions regarding certain topics, ultimately forcing us to think
critically and respond constructively to them. The meditation portion of our Wednesday discussions
allows us to take a step away from the rigorous classwork and constant worrying about due dates by
instead focusing solely on our breathing. Since arriving at

Symbolism In The Invisible Man
1. The chief difference between Wyeth s painting and Wall s photography is that the former acts as
a complement to aid the readers understanding of the general story, while the latter acts as that of
the protagonists life, in the point of view of the protagonist (in this case,) himself. As the text says,
the former, though more popular than the text itself, becomes less meaningful without the original
documents, because the synthesis of the Literature and the illustration is what provides the readers
with the full experience of the book to imagine and be entertained by a story that does not usually
happen (393). To go further, the reader cannot live in it; the reader can only use it as to help one s
imagination/experience of the said fiction... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I generally agree with the comments of the MoMA s critique that Wall opened an entirely new
way of illustration, in that Wall s approach was so inviting to the audience. The focal point of the
picture is to the protagonist of the novel, the Invisible Man , and such emphasis does draw some
eyes to the protagonist. However, at the same time, the whole picture is overwhelmed by the
number of the lightbulbs above the man. Though everything is in real life sizes, the amount of the
lightbulbs acts as a hyperbole, as the text suggests (394). Such override of the focus provides the
audiences with more depth of cognition of the situation, and many times, it is not frequently
possible in two dimensional settings, such as (comparatively) plain illustrations like those of
Wyeth. In that sense, I think Wall s photographyhas opened a new way of the illustration. However,
at the same time, I think his brilliancy is solely due to his use of the medium of photography. In
other words, I think his only contribution to the illustration industry is the use of the film, which
conveys different sets of images and cognition. Films could always do that, and perhaps thousands
of the photographers have used such techniques in their work; there is nothing new about the
technique itself. So the only difference Wall made was his synthesis of the film and the Literature
to illustrate that specific

Hypocrisy In To Kill A Mockingbird Analysis
Hypocrisy in To Kill a Mockingbird In her coming of age novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper
Lee explores how the precocious protagonist, Jean Louise Scout Finch, struggles to fit into her role
as a lady and has a difficult time coming to terms of the cruelty as well as the injustice her Southern
town displays through discrimination. Scout resides with her family in Maycomb County, Alabama
in the 1930s a town severely divided by color. She goes through a breathtaking metamorphosis
throughout the novel when her father Atticus defends a Negro man accused of rape, exposing her
to the true roots of human behavior. Through the use of settings, characterization, and ironies, Lee
implies that hypocrisy is a tragic act to be involved in; it can... Show more content on

Another hypocritical scene occurs in the novel when the people of Maycomb make untrue
judgements about the Radley Place and its inhabitants. For instance, Scout states, The shutters
and doors of the Radley house were closed on Sundays, another thing alien to Maycomb s ways:
closed doors meant illness and cold weather only (11). It is duplicitous of the townspeople to
scrutinize the Radleys based solely on town gossip and the appearance of their home. The
Radley home is intentionally used as an excuse by the townspeople to isolate the Radleys since
their way of living is not considered normal in their eyes. Overall, numerous reasons can be
found why people tend to be hypocritical; it is evident as to why many possess this quality in
Maycomb. Lee uses characterization, a crucial literary device, to display to readers the lethal
effects of hypocrisy in society. As Miss Maudie said, Mockingbirds don t do one thing but make
music for us to enjoy. They don t eat up people s gardens, don t nest in corncribs, they don t do
one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That s why it s a sin to kill a mockingbird (119). Despite
his innocence and role of a mockingbird, Tom was condemned guilty of rape and shot 17 times.
Mayella herself believes in beauty in an ugly world yet her heinous actions caused her to be a part
of that ugliness. Humans often appear to be hypocritical when they attempt to prove a point, yet

Abstract
This article provides a brief introduction to behavioral finance. Behavioral finance encompasses
research that drops the traditional assumptions of expected utility maximization with rational
investors in efficient markets. The two building blocks of behavioral finance are cognitive
psychology (how people think) and the limits to arbitrage (when markets will be inefficient).
The growth of behavioral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is especially true when one is dealing with a large market, such as the Japanese stock market in
the late 1980s or the U.S. market for technology stocks in the late 1990s. Arbitrageurs that
attempted to short Japanese stocks in mid1987 and hedge by going long in U.S. stocks were right
in the long run, but they lost huge amounts of money in October 1987 when the U.S. market
crashed by more than the Japanese market (because of Japanese government intervention). If the
arbitrageurs have limited funds, they would be forced to cover their positions just when the relative
misvaluations were greatest, resulting in additional buying pressure for Japanese stocks just when
they were most overvalued!
2. Cognitive Biases
Cognitive psychologists have documented many patterns regarding how people behave.
Some of these patterns are as follows:
Heuristics
Heuristics, or rules of thumb, make decision making easier. But they can sometimes lead to biases,
especially when things change. These can lead to suboptimal investment decisions.
When faced with N choices for how to invest retirement money, many people allocate using the
1/N rule. If there are three funds, one third goes into each. If two are stock funds, two thirds goes
into equities. If one of the three

Summary Of Immigrants And Crime Statistics
This article has brought up the truth when it comes to immigrants and crime statistics. With the
upcoming American elections, the topic of immigrants is widely debated and discussed upon.
Statistics which are given indicate that crime rates for immigrants are increasingly high. This
instills moral panic in communities when there is no reason evident reason to be afraid. The crime
statistics of immigrant crimes are exaggerated and emphasized upon. Crime rates as the article
mentioned are low. Immigrants are not solely responsible for committing crimes. Moral panic
occurs since the elections and Donald Trump is creating fear and hostility towards immigrants. The
presentation of crime statistics is heavily weighed upon. In order to validate a claim, statistics are
used. This is what this article indicates. Mr. Trump is using dated statistics to support his claim of
dangerous immigrants. These accusations can evidently make immigrants feel as if they are
targeted by politicians which in turn, can result in marginalization. The correlation of immigrants
and crime rates is a myth. The media portrays immigrants to be dangerous and responsible for
crimes. This is not the case; not all individuals are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
American officers argue that they do not racially profile individuals. This is not a case, for
instance, the Arizona SB1070 would show occurrences of racial profiling. If this bill went
through it would allow officers to pull over and question anyone that resembled a Mexican
appearance . This can include anything from how the individual is dressed and their physical
appearance. Arizona officers argued that this was not racial profiling and they would use different
means to question individuals. Clearly this was not the case, this bill was meant to allow for racial
profiling. This would be considered a myth for the reason that officers argue that they never racially
profile, but this bill would argue

International Space Shuttle Essay
The Columbia essentially faced a strike to its left wing when it was taking off. A piece of foam
fell and struck the left wing, potentially damaging it on its way into space. When Columbia was
attempting to reenter, abnormal readings from the left wing appeared. They could not get a
temperature gauge on the left wing, and shortly after the temperature disappeared so did the tire
pressure readings. It was discovered later on that a hole formed from the foam strike upon entry into
space, so when the Columbia was later trying to return, the hole allowed atmospheric gases to seep
into the shuttle. These gases essentially overheated when it reached the hot, fiery part of the
atmosphere, causing the temperature pressure, the tire pressure, and... Show more content on

The decrease in funding was great. The creation of the International Space Station (ISS) took the
biggest hit in the aftermath of Columbia, making its need for funding to go up from $24 billion to
$30 billion, but the actual funding itself stand still, if not decrease. The budget for NASA was now
seen as a burden, or a waste in resources, and the billions of dollars that were going to them were
starting to dwindle away. Because of this, Shuttle Discovery and Atlantis, which were supposed
to fly much sooner, took longer to fund and get up into space. The plan for these four shuttle
expeditions ended up taking 30 years and billions of dollars, when that was typically not the
original plan. Things were set to a halt because of the Challenger and the Columbia failures, but
essentially NASA was still able to accomplish all they desired to, just in a much larger time
frame. NASA now focuses on expeditions to sound, singular locations such as the Moon and
Mars, and that is where they are planning on putting most of their budget and resources for the
time being. While there may have been a funding decrease due to the Columbia and its failure,
support from government officials such as George W. Bush allowed NASA to rebuild their
budget while still explaining the importance of space travel and exploration. The NASA we have
today is not held in as much importance as it was back in the 80 s and

High School To College
Transitions from high school to college was one of my stressful adjustment ever. It was all a
long process which started in my counselor s office at my high school. Applying for college,
getting accepted, tuition and moving on campus. It was definitely a long journey, driving 11
hours from Florida to Alabama was when I realize that I m going far away from home. First thing
I notice when I got at the school was the beautiful buildings and the environment. It looks more
different from what I saw online. First day was very busy then I though. I had to go to admission,
financial aid, business and housing, making sure all my papers and payments was done before my
parent leave to Florida. I honestly thought high schooland collegewill be almost the same, but
college is a lot different from what I thought. High school help build my foundation and got me
ready for college. On the other hand, college is an institution of higher education. But when all the
first day process was done I was happy to get the keys to my room. Almost every freshman had
plan to design and organize their room. I was one of those freshmen. I plan to design my dorm
room just like my room at my house. Reason because I felt that it will make me more comfortable
and feel like home. Without doubt, though, that didn t help, still got home sick like every weekend.
I was hoping to get a roommate but my roommate that they assign to my room didn t show up. So,
I had the room to myself. Although my hope for a

The Impact Of Arena On The Beginnings Of The Civil War
First, thank you very much for following the advice set out in my last memo. Through a
coordinated media campaign focussed on clarifying the role of ARENA in the beginnings of the
civil war, we ve been able to secure a small but consistent advantage over our FMLN opponents.
However, according to the research that my team and I have conducted, this advantage is very
fragile. While El Salvadoran voters have communicated to us that they do not blame ARENA for
the start of the conflict, there is more confusion about the role of the party during the height of the
war in the 1980s. Therefore, this memo will be divided into three parts: first, a surface level history
of the conflict through the 1980s; second, potential academic explanations for... Show more content

MagaГ±a s Presidency took an active and purposeful role in opposing the FMLN guerrillas
through attacks on the group s primarily peasant base and support network. From 1981 to 1983,
it is estimated that at least 18,000 civilians were killed by government forces. Many of these
deaths were the result of air force bombings of peasants trying to flee across the Honduras border
or massacres committed by government infantry groups against FMLN friendly villages such as
El Mozote in December 1981. Paramilitary death squads were also incredibly active during this
time period, at one point killing six members of the opposition Christian Democratic Party (PDC),
resulting in a condemnation of the MagaГ±a government by PDC leader JosГ© NapoleГіn Duarte.
The second phase of the conflict, following the election of Duarte and the PDC in the 1984 5
elections, resulted in a reduction in government violence against civilians and attempts, although
ultimately unsuccessful, to reach a peace between the FMLN and government. The US backed
Duarte, who defeated ARENA leader Roberto d Aubuisson amid allegations of electoral fraud,
became the first civilian President in forty years. Political murders declined significantly during his
administration, although there were still civilian deaths in combat zones and mass displacement
concerns amounting to around 1500 deaths per year. Peace

Aerobic vs Anaerobic Exercise
Aerobic VS Anaerobic Exercise

ABSTRACT Being in the military has caused me to become a better athlete than I have been
before. Running is one of our main focuses and in my personal life I have strived to become
better at it since I know that I despise running but need to improve on it. One of the things that I
have learned is that in order for a high performance runner to reach a level that is desired to help
max out their run time for military standards, the individual needs to have a focused training,
training with an objective.
The obesity rate in America has continually spiked over the years as well. More than 30% of
Americans do not do any kind of physical exercise. By implementing some kind of ... Show more

If someone is trying to quit smoking the more aerobics they do the less their cravings are to occur
plus their lung function is greatly improved. For people that may feel stressed or are combating
depression according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services research aerobics
helps lower these by raising the self esteem and physical awareness.
I perform both types of training several times a week; therefore, I can describe what my body
feels like after each training session. When I finish an anaerobic training, I feel my legs are
heavier and numb after all the effort that I have put in on the exercises along with the body aches
which are a result of the lactic acid produced by my muscles; however I can breathe perfectly well
after 5 minutes. After an aerobic training, I feel my muscles are looser and weaker along with my
lungs feeling stretched and my recovery can last up to an hour depending on the distance that I have
run.
An individual that wishes to improve their run should do both aerobic and anaerobic training to
balance out their workout; we shouldn t choose only one because they are equally important to
grow as a competitive runner and to reach that goal of maxing out the military standards for their
age bracket. For society as a whole in the U.S., I strongly think that aerobic exercise of any sort,
even if it is just going for a walk or a slight jog, will help increase their lifespan and

Malpractice Communication
Communication is an often overlooked aspect of the physician patient relationship. According to
one study in the Journal of the American Medical Association which compared primary care
physicians with no malpractice claims to those with claims, those with no claims against them spent
more time with patients on routine visits, used more humor with patients, and spent more time
orienting patients in regard to their health. The study clearly demonstrates that communicationis a
critical aspect of caring for patients and a lack thereof can potentially be the root cause of
malpractice claims. My communication skills, along with my maturity and empathy, which I have

Volunteering in the surgery waiting room at Redlands Community Hospital gave me the
opportunity to cultivate maturity and understand the role of empathy in communicating with
patients and their loved ones. On my very first day volunteering I made a thoughtless assumption
and mistakenly marked down the spouse of a homosexual patient as a friend on my list, forcing him
to clarify the dynamics of his relationship to me. This faux pas, albeit unintentional, only happened
once: I quickly realized that sensitivity, specifically through avoiding cultural assumptions, was
paramount to protecting the dignity of everyone I came into contact with. On another occasion, I
found myself on the wrong end of a heated conversation with some visitors, who were frustrated
that their patient s surgery time was pushed back due to the doctor being called away to perform an
emergency surgery. It was a frustrating experience after all, I was there to serve them but my own
experience with stress and uncertainty from my father s battle with Guillain BarrГ© syndrome
enabled me to empathize with their situation and handle the circumstance with understanding and

The Heart Of Blood Vessels
There are 2 primary circulatory loops in the human body which include pulmonary circulation loop
and the systemic circulation loop. The pulmonary circulation transport deoxygenated blood from
the right side of the heart to the lungs. During pulmonary circulation blood picks up oxygen and
returns to the left side of the heart. The right atrium and the right ventricle support the pulmonary
circulation loop. The systemic circulation carries highly oxygenated bloodfrom the left side of the
heart to all of the tissues of the body. During systemic circulation it then removes wastes from body
tissues and returns deoxygenated blood to the right side of the heart. The left atrium and the left
ventricle of the heart support the systemic circulation loop.
Fig 1.1 Structure of the Heart
Blood Vessels
There are three main types of blood vessels, the arteries, capillaries and veins. Blood vessels are
responsible for the blood to flow dynamically from the heart to every part of the body and then
back to a continuous cycle which takes about one minute (Tim Taylor, 2014). The size of the
blood vessels correlates with the amount of blood that passes through the vessel (Tim Taylor,
2014). The hollow area of the blood vessel is called the lumen which can either be thin or thick
depending on which organ it flows through (Tim Taylor, 2014). A thin layer of squamous
epithelium, known as endothelium, is a thin lining in the blood vessels that allow blood cells to

clients requirements, and so keeping clients satisfied. This system of fast fashion also helped
Zara to produce more effective styles. This included the production of 11,000 items, while in
case of rivals we find that Gap produced only 4,000 items, and H M produced only 2000 items.

William Blake Allusion
William Blake was a visionary English poet who lived from 1757 1827. He is now considered one
of the most important figures of the Romantic Age. His works of poetry have become more
important in the 21st century than anyone would ve thought many years ago. Much of his poetry
has obvious biblical references.
In the poems, The Lamb, The Poison Tree and The Tyger, Blake uses many techniques including
symbolism, apostrophe, metaphors, rhetorical questions, repetition, allusions and alliteration.
At the outset of The Lamb, we see the use of alliteration. He begins the poem with Little lamb and
repeats it throughout. He then introduces rhetorical questions, and the combination of these literary
devices creates a childlike picture of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though there is no reference to a tree until the last line of the poem, Blake alludes to the Garden
of Eden where Adam and Eve ate fruit from the Tree of Knowledge by using words such as
garden, apple and tree in the poem. And into my garden stole, Till it bore an apple bright, My foe
outstretched beneath the tree (Blake 1794/2007 p.807).
Blake uses repetition in his poem by repeating I was angry with, in the first stanza. I was angry
with my friend; I told my wrath, my wrath did end. I was angry with my foe: I told it not, my wrath
did grow (Blake 1794/2007 p.807).
Written in Songs of Experience, The Tyger, by William Blaketells about the evil in the Bible. Not
only does it include references to the Bible, it includes references to its sister poem, The Lamb.
William Blake uses personification to show stars in the sky throwing spears and their tears filling
Heaven. When the stars threw down their spears And water d heaven with their tears (Blake 1794
/2007 p.1072).
Blake also uses imagery in the poem. He paints a picture of God hammering out the body of a
ferocious tiger on an anvil. What the hammer? What the chain, In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp (Blake 1794/2007 p.

Analysis Of The Movie Silver Linings Playbook
A life interchanging from high to low, happy to sad, to the brink of exploding with euphoria to
the lowest low, is the life of a human living with Bipolar disorder. This roller coaster of emotions
is inevitable and almost unlikely to cure in terms of later onset. Living with any personality
disorder puts strain and hardship on your loved ones and is more then anyone would want to
deal with in their short lifetime. These disorders are more common than we know and the way
they are treated will determine the individual s psychological outcome. The movie Silver
Linings Playbook does a great job depicting a character with Bipolar disorder and the struggles
the main character Pat faces on a day to day basis through his road to recovery. Silver Linings
Playbook displays many types of psychological disorders that include Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder, Bipolar disorder, and a slight sexual disorder. Bradley Cooper does an exceptional job
playing the role of Pat Solitano, a bipolar patient who has just been released from a psychiatric
ward after almost killing another man for sleeping with his wife. He plans to relive his past and
thinks that nothing has changed since he has been gone, a common occurrence of a subject with
bipolar disorder. On his journey he is set up with the character Tiffany, played by Jennifer
Lawrence. She is a recently widowed woman that uses sex as a way of coping with her loss. These
two characters connect throughout the movie and develop a relationship

Alcoholic Beverages an introduction
Alcoholic beverages have been around for thousands of years, some Stone Age beer jugs show that
fermented beverages were being produced as early as 10,000 B.C.[Hanson, David J. 1997]. In
the past beer was used as a substitute to drinking water, it was considered safer due to the
unsanitary ways that water was delivered, as the process boiled off any bacteria [Cahill, Mero M.
There are many different types of alcoholic beverages on the market, these are classified into the
following groups beer, wine and spirits (Alcoholic Beverages).
Beer According to [Motarjemi, Yasmine Moy, Gerald Todd, Ewen. 2014] beers are alcoholic
beverages brewed from germinated barley (malt), hops, yeast and water. It is also stated that beer
can be dated back to 9500BC, making it one of the worlds oldest prepared beverages.
Wine According to [Motarjemi, Yasmine Moy, Gerald Todd, Ewen. 2014] wines are alcoholic

Cellphones Have Become A Huge Part Of Everyday Life
Think about it. If one was to walk into an airport right now, what are the chances of spotting a
person without a cell phone in their hand or a computer on their lap? Very slim. In the modern
culture, technology has become a huge part of everyday life. This is replacing social interactions
with social media and love letters with messaging and genuine friends with far away strangers. Over
the course of technology development, social and communicationskills have greatly decreased due
to dependence on such devices, thus being a direct effect. For American teen s, cellphones have
become a vital social tool and texting the preferred communication method. Anywhere you go,
you are most likely to observe the exact same scenario. A group of friends are sitting together,
supposedly meeting up for a bite to eat and a time to catch up. Yet, all you notice is not only are
they not speaking, they all have their noses buried in iPhones and eyes solely focused on the
bright screen. It is disheartening to think that we could be so attached to such small piece of
technology that we can t put it down. They have become the center of our lives, replacing
important people and moments. According to a study from the Kaiser Family Foundation,
children and adolescents of 8 to 18 spend more than seven and a half hours a day on computers
and phones, compared with less than six and a half hours five years ago (Lewin, If Your Kids Are
Awake ). With phones and computers being so easily

The Legendary Dolly Parton
Without a doubt there is one major performer that certainly stands out within our pop culture
world. The name of this very famous American icon is, Dolly Parton. Dolly has surpassed any
rags to riches story that ever lived. She has touched the lives of so many individuals over many
decades through her many talents. Dolly started her career at a very young age and continued
fulfilling her life endeavors through country music, pop music, and even acting. This American icon

that she also had an overwhelming gift for acting. Through having her own variety show and
appearing on television specials, even more people began to love her vivacious personality. She
was able to capture more hearts in the entertainment world because of her loving character. Dolly
starred in many movies throughout her career as well as being a voice in many animated films.
She has written and sang many of the songs that are played during films. Once again this wasn t

her even greater opportunity for showing how talented she is through starring in even bigger

The Patient Will See You Now
HMO Book Report Poster: The Patient Will See You Now
Summary:
The book, The Patient Will See You Now, by Eric Topol, withholds an extreme amount of
educational value and discusses how the vast world of medicine can combine with the ever
expanding world of technology to make things such as medical information, diagnoses, treatments,
and even prescriptions at our fingertips. This book takes the point of view from Dr. Eric Topol, a
cardiologist who is trying to better the world of medicine while increasing the convenience of it at
the same time. The goal that Dr. Topol is trying to establish is that in this day and age, there is
absolutely no need for one to have to wait so long to see a doctor. In fact, why should the general
population have to wait what feels like hours in a waiting room, or even days for an appointment
to be made when everything can be presented right in front of us? Medicine is advancing at such
a fast rate that now scientists and doctors can find cures to diseases in a matter of months, or
sometimes even days after they are discovered. Since we have such high advances in the fields of
science and medicine, people all over the world (more than just doctors and nurses) should have
access to know what these diseases do and how to cure them the second that they are discovered.
This concept seems something that would be nearly impossible to achieve, but thanks to
breakthroughs in new technology and silicon, this dream can surely turn into a reality.

Reflection Paper On Japanese Garden
The Japanese gardens is going to be the basis of my reflection paper with regards to the topic on
reconnaissance. The Japanese gardens are small gardens with a certain unique landscape found
especially in eastern japan. The Japanese gardens apart from being archaic, are existent to date. In
major countries in the world today, it is next to impossible to find practices that have existed to
date bearing in mind the speedy population growth (Harry). Moreover, japan being one of the most
industrialized countries in the world, one would think that the population should be thinking of
more industrial expansion for the benefit of economic growth. Japan has however defied the odds
by preserving their gardens not only for this generation but also for the generations to come. This is
something in my opinion that is of keen interest. There are certain elements that are depicted in the
reading that are depicted that makes it stand out as compared to the other three genres that were
provided. First, their religious beliefs are automatically depicted in their environment.... Show more

The art employed in its design is something that leaves a lot to be asked. The symbolism
employed in its design such as the three stones to represent Buddha and the raked sand to
represent water flow is something that brings out the aesthetic value of the gardens. Beauty in its
general meaning is not just something or someone that looks good on the face of it. Beauty
should be able to speak for itself in a way that can be understood not by anyone but only by those
whom it is designed to communicate to leaving the rest of the world guessing. The Japanese
gardens have not failed under this definition. They speak a lot on the Japanese culture but only the
Japanese understand it. The rest of the world only marvel at its uniqueness while at the same time
understanding close to nothing on the very meaning of the Japanese gardens. That to me is

The Dynamic Role In Music During The Romantic Period

The dynamic role of Women in Music during the Romantic Period.
Usually when people judge romance they assume of dating, but the Romantic Period was not about
dating, it was a time of great emotion, creativity, imagination, adventure, and was a time of political
revolution. Romanticism originated in Western Europe in the second half of the 18th century, and
gained much strength during the Industrial Revolution. This era was a time of great change, and
unlike the Classical era, the Romantic era allowed artistic creativity, freedom, and experimentation.
The Romantic Period brought a flood of women who began writing and expressing themselves
through literary works. Women increased recognition during the romantic era. They devolved into
music teachers, composers, singers and performers. Although they were still in the opposition of
music professions, the women in this era opened the doors for opportunities in the future. A few
dominant impacts were Pauline Viardot, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, and Clara Schumann. They
even had some of their works published. (Young: 235 237)
Women have been active participants in the musical world since antiquity, but discussions of their
efforts have traditionally been neglected in favor of those of male musicians. Beginning in the
romantic era, encouraged by the flourishing feminist movement, scholars began to investigate the
musical activities of female musicians in

Homosexuality In Ancient Greek Culture
Many ancient and classical societies influenced developing new cultures. Greek, Egyptian, and
Roman people had similar political and societal ideals that they adhered to, eventually inspiring
the modern societal world we live in today. Without the ancient and Greek cultural influences,
the Roman societal beliefs of sexuality would not be what is characterized as uniquely Roman.
As a matter of fact, it was believed in Roman culture that homosexuality was not alone
inappropriate, but it was the role of a male acting submissive that was considered shameful. Men
are to be seen as superior in strength, as illustrated before in the Greek culture with the Olympic
Games (Sayre, 118). While women were to be inferior and passive in nature. Due to one man
having to be passive and the other dominant over him, this makes a man weak and no longer
deserving of respect. The article references the epic of Gilgamesh as an ancient societal acceptance

The women were covered by darkness as a part of their submissive role. This depiction of women
was also the same in Greek sculptures, like the ones dedicated to the goddess Athena (Sayre,
120). The female sculptures are fully clothed in beautiful gowns and the hair is delicately
braided, but on the other hand Greek society celebrates the male nude body as the most exquisite,
as painted on pottery and in sculpture (Sayre, 118). To add, the Olympics were a crucial part of
Greek culture. At that time, men were only allowed to compete in the athletic games while
completely nude (Sayre, 118). Women were not permitted to attend the games, nor compete due to
their inferior role, and they women could not partake especially in the nude games. The female
ideal within Roman society took root from the Greek ideal of

Good Earth Greed Quotes
Greed was a common characteristic in The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. The characteristic
drew people to do selfish things like join a band of robbers or continuously ask for money, but
don t we have greed in our society today? The Good Earth was set around 1930, or earlier, and
Wang Lung, the main character, lives for about 70 years. Wang Lung is followed through his life in
The Good Earth. What does greed in 1930 s China have in common with greed in today s 2018
society, and what is different?
The characteristic greed in The Good Earth plays a big role in Wang Lung s life. Wang Lung s
uncle is the perfect example of greed because he is always asking for more. He goes as far as to
join The Red Beards, a well known band of robbers, to gain wealth. Another person with a lot of
greed in The Good Earth is Lotus. Lotus is very greedy because she is always asking for money
to spend on luxuries. Another example is Wang Lung himself. Wang Lung never fully
acknowledges the fact that Olan is primarily responsible for his wealth because she stole the
jewels from the rich people in the south. One final example is the gateman at the House of Hwang
in the beginning of the book. He takes advantage of Wang Lung and takes money from him for an
entrance fee that didn t exist. Also, the gateman joined the Red Beards when ... Show more content

Healthy Tacos Research Paper
Tacos are a delicious way to enjoy Mexican cuisine. They re quick, filling, and flavor packed. The
lightened recipe turned up the heat, but kept the calorie count low. This project was a good way to
start a fresh/new healthy lifestyle.
The process to make delicious healthy tacos was not very complicated. There were very few
bumps on the way but in the end, the meal was exquisite. First, I had to convince my parents to
take me to a local grocery store (also known as Coborns) to buy some of the ingredients. Some of
the ingredients were low price, but others were a pretty penny. Afterwards, when we got home, I got
to start the cooking right away. Other than burning the tomatoes, the process went pretty marvelous.
My mother had to help me grill the chicken and measure the amounts of ingredients it was needed
to make a meal for three. After the chicken, salsa, and guacamole was ready to serve, my parents
and I sat down at the table and served each plates.
Some elements that were challenging to make was the chicken and the salsa and finding the right
spices (especially for the chicken). One reason the chicken had its complications was because while
it was grilling, I had to check to see if the inside of the chicken was not raw and was fully cooked.

Still Alice Analysis
I decided to do my review on the movie Still Alice. The movie started off with Alice giving a
speech in an auditorium to hundreds of people when all of a sudden she forgot part of her
speech. At first, she is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer s at the age of 50. But later on,
things start to get worse, she began to forget things more and more; she was officially diagnosed
from a doctor with dementia later on. The movie itself was very saddening and showed how
Alzheimer s can affect one s family, friends, and everyday life traumatically. From the aspect of the
caregiver, the symptoms of dementia are disheartening.
Dementia itself is a progressive decline in memory, learning, and thinking abilities. In terms of
education, people with Alzheimer s have the intelligence of people who are about 10 years old in
grade school. For the sociological aspect of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people view Alzheimer s patients in a negative way and don t treat of them as a normal
thinking person. Many people believe people with this disease are confused. Some research
indicated that traits like fun and happy were at the bottom of how someone would describe a
person with dementia. In the movie, not everyone viewed people with dementia with respect,
mostly loved ones gave the most respect to Alice throughout the movie. I think that the title of the
movie Still Alice brings up a good point. When someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer s, how
much of their identity do they still have left? It is disheartening to think about because this
genetic disease affects so many families around the world. In spirit, Alice is still there throughout
the movie. But her memory and social skills have slowly dismantled who she truly is as a person.
Dementia takes over someone s life so rapidly it is frightening. I have learned from this movie to
never take any moment for granted and to enjoy your time with loved

Obstacles In The Glass Castle
Think back to your own childhood. Could you imagine being a child, and not having a care in the
world, but then, as quick as the snap of a finger, that all changes because of a thoughtless mistake
made by your parents? In The Glass Castle it is revealed that as Jeannette grew up, she endured
hardships inflicted upon her by her own parents. However, if Jeannette had not gone through these
things, she never would have gained the characteristics that she values present day. Although
Jeannette Walls faced hardships and endured suffering during her childhood, these obstacles
formed her into a self reliant woman who proves that just because you do not have as much money
as other families, you can still achieve success in your life.
Throughout her life, starting from childhood, Jeannette Walls suffered through multiple hardships
that could lead her away from a successful adult life. Since she was young, her parents put her
through things that a child should never be exposed to, which could lead her to make these same
mistakes as she grew older. For example, her father was an alcoholic, and from this many problems
sprouted. Furthermore, her mother never wanted to be tied down, and loathed the idea of family
life, as she did not want the responsibility of raising a family. Rose Mary was depicted as self
centered in the novel, and did not think of her children, as she only thought of her own needs. This
can be shown when she keeps the diamond ring her children found for herself.

My Experience At Connecticut College
When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain point on the floor, it s to enjoy each step
along the way. (Wayne Dwyer) There is no description or analogy more accurate to describe my
experience both watching and performing dance this past semester at Connecticut College. As a
freshman, it was difficult to move forward with dancein a new environment since I have had the
same dance experience for 15 years. I found myself equating movements and steps to styles more
known to me; I was searching for comfort among the abundance of unfamiliarity. The challenge
was to embrace modern dancing for everything it entailed. Through watching both professional
dancers and other students, as well as improving my personal technique, I certainly feel that I have
found a new appreciation for dance. Of all the dance performances this semester, my favorite was
the Department Concert. Even though all of the artists were extraordinary to watch, I was able to
connect with the dancers most during the Department Concert. Watching Connecticut College
students perform gave me a different feeling than the other shows. I could relate to the performers
better because I have had conversations with them outside of dance and they have been there as
mentors to me and the other freshmen. This feeling of inclusion was only possible because of the
atmosphere of the department; everyone, regardless of class year, is genuinely welcomed. I also
believe that seeing students perform the work was

3.3. Porter s Generic Strategy
The company pursues what Porter (1980) calls a differentiation strategy (See Exhibit 4) since the
technological core competency distinguishes BYD s electric automobiles from other brands. The
energy cost of electric automobiles could be only 1/8 of that of the traditional fuel automobiles,
for which it has attracted extensive public attention. Moreover, adapting Fe Battery permits E6 to
be capable of be driven 300 km as a nominal range, and can be charged in household power supply.
Beyond that, the environmentally friendly has gained the governmental support in the form of
subsidy, which decreased the price of F3DM by almost 50% (From 16980, 000 Yuan to 898,000
Yuan).
However, as mentioned above, BYD Auto reduces its cost to a large extent by supplying itself the
car components. Apart from its electric automobiles, the traditional cars are set at a very low price.
Therefore, although being focused on differentiation as its primary strategy, BYD Auto also
employs a cost leadership strategy

Research Paper On Gay Marriage Discrimination
Discrimination Against Gay Marriage is the Voice of Ignorance
Marriage is one of the fundamental establishments of the United States. As a young person, one
looks forward to many goals in their lifetime: career success, a good life, and very often marriage
to the person they love and a family together. This is one of the biggest parts of our American
life and culture. Very few heterosexuals would be willing to put their right to marry on a ballot
for voter approval, or even in their wildest dreams [nightmares?] have to consider doing that.
However, in the past ten years that is a prospect gay men and women are facing all over our United

A homosexual still gets up in the morning and goes to work or to school. They still have dinner

they still hold stable relationships, just like a man and women would, they still go through the ups
and downs of a relationship, facing the same joyous moments, and same hard times with an
individual they love. The homophobia that has spread through our country like wildfire since the
outing of homosexuals became more common and acceptable undermines these common
variables between homosexual and heterosexual couples. One of the largest differences for a
homosexual is living a life of fear. Along with all of their day to day activities that mirror any
heterosexual, they must also deal with the stress of being different and being unacceptable to the
society which they are a part of. They must know the places they are welcomed as an outted gay

Summary Of The Book By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Chapter 1 5 The book opens with a description of people founding a new colony, later revealed to
be Boston, and setting aside parts for a cemetery and a prison. The prison is described as ugly
and weather stained. Also pointed out is the presence of a rose bush in front of the prison gate
that has somehow been kept alive. A rose is offered to the reader on the basis that it could
symbolize a moral blossom or relieve the darkening close of a human frailty and sorrow
(Hawthorne 42). After this brief description, the story begins with a crowd gathering in front of the

Oprah, they are. Gandhi was a man who wanted to end racial justice in all parts of the world,
while Harriet Tubman wanted to help guide the slaves from the South to the North so that they can
live a free life. However, instead of taking a more direct approach, Oprah Winfreyused a public
method. These three passionate individuals stood up to enact change by fighting for human rights
and staying persistent and determined. Mahatma Gandhi enacted change by striving to end racial
injustice. He did this to show that anyone of any race or religion should have equal rights.
According to Satyagraha: Gandhi s Legacy , it states, Gandhi developed his philosophy of
Satyagraha, or resistance through non violent civil disobedience to defend his rights and the
rights of all Indians and non whites (Studysync Editors). Gandhi himself had been faced with
discrimination. However, instead of ignoring the situation, Gandhi took a stand and did what
was right to ensure equality among all people. The Studysync Editors stay, As had been the case
in the southern United States, Indians and other non white people were forced to ride at the
back of trains, use separate facilities, and were treated as second class citizens. Gandhi believed
that this was wrong . With his opinions in mind, Gandhi decided to get his beliefs out by starting
non violent protest. As the leader he was, he lead many protests that included: unfair taxes and
oppressive discrimination, as well as alleviating poverty, helping in the women s liberation
movement, and ending caste discrimination. Studysync Editors wrote, Gandhi s work inspired
large scale global change. Resistance to British involvement in South Africa and in India helped
to inspire a movement of decolonization all over the world. Several political and spiritual leaders
were inspired by Gandhi s work... . Gandhi s influence to the civilization was a huge turning point
for those of the non white race. By his assiduous act and hope of impact, Gandhi didn t just catch
the eye of the discriminated but also the attention of others. Mahatma Gandhi is remembered today
as one of the most

Struggles for Release
The two American short stories, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin and Young Goodman Brown
by Nathaniel Hawthorne both portrays a similar theme. The two protagonists in both short stories
suffer mental or emotional torture and was trap in a literary cage. In addition, both characters in the
stories meet death in the end, and that death symbolizes their freedom from the world and society
that was grasping on to them. A main topic of American short stories that constantly shows up since
the earlier years, and is presented throughout history is the emphasis on society and how it creates
emotional and mental tortures in an individual, and imparts them with a different perspective of the
world. The society that people live in has an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During Chopin s childhood, she experienced the years of the Civil War in St. Louis, and during that
time, many federal soldiers invaded the privacy of homes and carried off neighbors for
incarceration (Bonner 111). Therefore, Bonner insist that, With the war as context, it is easy to see
how Chopin the writer could see the violation of home and community as parallels for the violation
and restriction of the self in the institution of marriage (111). Through the writings of Kate Chopin,
such as in The Story of an Hour, the readers, especially in modern times learn of the height that the
women s right movement has reached since the 19th century. In addition, modern readers also
obtain the knowledge and understand the perspective that women in the 19th century have and
what freedom meant for them. As people compare and contrast the differences of the rights women
had in the 19th century to the present 21st century, there has definitely been a massive change.
Women certainly lost much more freedom in the past rather than today, when they start a marriage
and marriage was conceived in a different manner in the past. Though America has gotten very far
into the movement of women s rights and there have been many changes towards freedom that an
individual has, these cages that Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour present still somewhat exists
in the modern society. Though individuals have

John F. Kennedy s Civil Rights Speech
Does everyone deserve civil rights? John F. Kennedy believed so during the Civil Rights
Movement. The Civil Right Movement began around 1950 and ended around 1970. A few of the
major leaders were Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and John F. Kennedy. The purpose of the
Civil Rights Movement was to end discrimination and prejudice among whites and blacks. Many
African Americans did not have the same rights as Caucasians mainly due to their skin being a
different color. A famous speech delivered by John F. Kennedy
was The Nation Faces a Moral
Crisis Regarding Race on June 11, 1963 at Washington D.C.. A major theme of John F. Kennedy
s speech was racism. In The Nation Faces a Moral Crisis in Regard to Race , John F. Kennedy
inspires his intended audience during the Civil Rights Movement by using the rhetorical devices
of tone and repetition. Kennedy advocates greater civil rights for African Americans. Because of
increasing violence and chaos between whites and blacks, Kennedy felt the need to address the
nation concerning racism. In John F. Kennedy s speech, The Nation Faces a Moral Crisis in
Regard to Race, Kennedy hoped his audience would consider and support equal rights for all men
I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience
about this and other related incidents [...] This nation was founded by men of many nations and
backgrounds [...] It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights

Causes And Treatment Of Erectile Dysfunction Causes and Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction By Michael Guralnik | Submitted On October 28, 2013 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Share this article on Facebook Share this article on Twitter Share this article on Google+ Share this article on Linkedin Share this article on StumbleUpon 1 Share this article on Delicious Share this article on Digg Share this article on Reddit Share this article on Pinterest Erectile Dysfunction It refers to the inability of a male to sustain erection consistently and repeatedly. It is a common problem and is reported that it affects around 18 30 million men. It exerts considerable effects on the quality of life. Most of the time people are reluctant to talk about it to others even to doctors. This is why it is important to address this problem openly. What are the mechanics of erectile dysfunction? The penis contains two cylinder shaped chambers called corpora cavernosa which runs along the length of the penis. They contain arteries which bring the blood to the penis and veins which take the blood away from the penis. When there is sexual stimulation either physically or mentally our brain sends a message to the nerves in the penis to cause the relaxation of the penile arteries. This increases the blood flow to the penis making it stiff and hard, thus achieving erection. There is simultaneous contraction of specialized muscles located in the penis which compresses the veins and reduces the outflow of blood from the ... • 3. Contemplative Importance The Importance of Contemplative Practices in an Academic Environment (pt. 1) Contemplative practices can take several forms, including meditation, prayers, and certain physical exercises such as yoga. Before taking Education in the USA, I had spent very little time participating in these practices except for the occasional yoga session my former tennis coach would instruct me to attend. However, these were cases of me superficially participating in that practice. Since participating in our Wednesday discussions which include a 5 to 10 minute period of meditation, the what s present/what are we experiencing? exercises, and occasionally, the placement of different objects and words in the center of the room I have become increasingly aware of the importance of these practices in relation to both the material we are covering in lectures as well as our individual beings. In my opinion, the respective purposes of these different contemplative practices have been to cultivate a sense of mental calmness while taking a break from our busy lives, identify the importance of fully embracing the present moment, and expose us to different viewpoints and reactions regarding certain topics, ultimately forcing us to think critically and respond constructively to them. The meditation portion of our Wednesday discussions allows us to take a step away from the rigorous classwork and constant worrying about due dates by instead focusing solely on our breathing. Since arriving at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Symbolism In The Invisible Man 1. The chief difference between Wyeth s painting and Wall s photography is that the former acts as a complement to aid the readers understanding of the general story, while the latter acts as that of the protagonists life, in the point of view of the protagonist (in this case,) himself. As the text says, the former, though more popular than the text itself, becomes less meaningful without the original documents, because the synthesis of the Literature and the illustration is what provides the readers with the full experience of the book to imagine and be entertained by a story that does not usually happen (393). To go further, the reader cannot live in it; the reader can only use it as to help one s imagination/experience of the said fiction... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I generally agree with the comments of the MoMA s critique that Wall opened an entirely new way of illustration, in that Wall s approach was so inviting to the audience. The focal point of the picture is to the protagonist of the novel, the Invisible Man , and such emphasis does draw some eyes to the protagonist. However, at the same time, the whole picture is overwhelmed by the number of the lightbulbs above the man. Though everything is in real life sizes, the amount of the lightbulbs acts as a hyperbole, as the text suggests (394). Such override of the focus provides the audiences with more depth of cognition of the situation, and many times, it is not frequently possible in two dimensional settings, such as (comparatively) plain illustrations like those of Wyeth. In that sense, I think Wall s photographyhas opened a new way of the illustration. However, at the same time, I think his brilliancy is solely due to his use of the medium of photography. In other words, I think his only contribution to the illustration industry is the use of the film, which conveys different sets of images and cognition. Films could always do that, and perhaps thousands of the photographers have used such techniques in their work; there is nothing new about the technique itself. So the only difference Wall made was his synthesis of the film and the Literature to illustrate that specific ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Hypocrisy In To Kill A Mockingbird Analysis Hypocrisy in To Kill a Mockingbird In her coming of age novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee explores how the precocious protagonist, Jean Louise Scout Finch, struggles to fit into her role as a lady and has a difficult time coming to terms of the cruelty as well as the injustice her Southern town displays through discrimination. Scout resides with her family in Maycomb County, Alabama in the 1930s a town severely divided by color. She goes through a breathtaking metamorphosis throughout the novel when her father Atticus defends a Negro man accused of rape, exposing her to the true roots of human behavior. Through the use of settings, characterization, and ironies, Lee implies that hypocrisy is a tragic act to be involved in; it can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another hypocritical scene occurs in the novel when the people of Maycomb make untrue judgements about the Radley Place and its inhabitants. For instance, Scout states, The shutters and doors of the Radley house were closed on Sundays, another thing alien to Maycomb s ways: closed doors meant illness and cold weather only (11). It is duplicitous of the townspeople to scrutinize the Radleys based solely on town gossip and the appearance of their home. The Radley home is intentionally used as an excuse by the townspeople to isolate the Radleys since their way of living is not considered normal in their eyes. Overall, numerous reasons can be found why people tend to be hypocritical; it is evident as to why many possess this quality in Maycomb. Lee uses characterization, a crucial literary device, to display to readers the lethal effects of hypocrisy in society. As Miss Maudie said, Mockingbirds don t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don t eat up people s gardens, don t nest in corncribs, they don t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That s why it s a sin to kill a mockingbird (119). Despite his innocence and role of a mockingbird, Tom was condemned guilty of rape and shot 17 times. Mayella herself believes in beauty in an ugly world yet her heinous actions caused her to be a part of that ugliness. Abstract This article provides a brief introduction to behavioral finance. Behavioral finance encompasses research that drops the traditional assumptions of expected utility maximization with rational investors in efficient markets. The two building blocks of behavioral finance are cognitive psychology (how people think) and the limits to arbitrage (when markets will be inefficient). The growth of behavioral ... This is especially true when one is dealing with a large market, such as the Japanese stock market in the late 1980s or the U.S. market for technology stocks in the late 1990s. Arbitrageurs that attempted to short Japanese stocks in mid1987 and hedge by going long in U.S. stocks were right in the long run, but they lost huge amounts of money in October 1987 when the U.S. market crashed by more than the Japanese market (because of Japanese government intervention). If the arbitrageurs have limited funds, they would be forced to cover their positions just when the relative misvaluations were greatest, resulting in additional buying pressure for Japanese stocks just when they were most overvalued! 2. Cognitive Biases Cognitive psychologists have documented many patterns regarding how people behave. Some of these patterns are as follows: Heuristics Heuristics, or rules of thumb, make decision making easier. But they can sometimes lead to biases, especially when things change. These can lead to suboptimal investment decisions. When faced with N choices for how to invest retirement money, many people allocate using the 1/N rule. A piece of foam fell and struck the left wing, potentially damaging it on its way into space. When Columbia was attempting to reenter, abnormal readings from the left wing appeared. It was discovered later on that a hole formed from the foam strike upon entry into space, so when the Columbia was later trying to return, the hole allowed atmospheric gases to seep into the shuttle. The decrease in funding was great. The creation of the International Space Station (ISS) took the biggest hit in the aftermath of Columbia, making its need for funding to go up from $24 billion to $30 billion, but the actual funding itself stand still, if not decrease. The budget for NASA was now seen as a burden, or a waste in resources, and the billions of dollars that were going to them were starting to dwindle away. Because of this, Shuttle Discovery and Atlantis, which were supposed to fly much sooner, took longer to fund and get up into space. The plan for these four shuttle expeditions ended up taking 30 years and billions of dollars, when that was typically not the original plan. Things were set to a halt because of the Challenger and the Columbia failures, but essentially NASA was still able to accomplish all they desired to, just in a much larger time frame. NASA now focuses on expeditions to sound, singular locations such as the Moon and Mars, and that is where they are planning on putting most of their budget and resources for the time being. While there may have been a funding decrease due to the Columbia and its failure, support from government officials such as George W. Bush allowed NASA to rebuild their budget while still explaining the importance of space travel and exploration. However, according to the research that my team and I have conducted, this advantage is very fragile. While El Salvadoran voters have communicated to us that they do not blame ARENA for the start of the conflict, there is more confusion about the role of the party during the height of the war in the 1980s. From 1981 to 1983, it is estimated that at least 18,000 civilians were killed by government forces. Many of these deaths were the result of air force bombings of peasants trying to flee across the Honduras border or massacres committed by government infantry groups against FMLN friendly villages such as El Mozote in December 1981. Paramilitary death squads were also incredibly active during this time period, at one point killing six members of the opposition Christian Democratic Party (PDC), resulting in a condemnation of the MagaГ±a government by PDC leader JosГ© NapoleГіn Duarte. The second phase of the conflict, following the election of Duarte and the PDC in the 1984 5 elections, resulted in a reduction in government violence against civilians and attempts, although ultimately unsuccessful, to reach a peace between the FMLN and government. The US backed Duarte, who defeated ARENA leader Roberto d Aubuisson amid allegations of electoral fraud, became the first civilian President in forty years. Running is one of our main focuses and in my personal life I have strived to become better at it since I know that I despise running but need to improve on it. One of the things that I have learned is that in order for a high performance runner to reach a level that is desired to help max out their run time for military standards, the individual needs to have a focused training, training with an objective. I perform both types of training several times a week; therefore, I can describe what my body feels like after each training session. When I finish an anaerobic training, I feel my legs are heavier and numb after all the effort that I have put in on the exercises along with the body aches which are a result of the lactic acid produced by my muscles; however I can breathe perfectly well after 5 minutes. After an aerobic training, I feel my muscles are looser and weaker along with my lungs feeling stretched and my recovery can last up to an hour depending on the distance that I have run. An individual that wishes to improve their run should do both aerobic and anaerobic training to balance out their workout; we shouldn t choose only one because they are equally important to grow as a competitive runner and to reach that goal of maxing out the military standards for their age bracket. • 14. The Heart Of Blood Vessels There are 2 primary circulatory loops in the human body which include pulmonary circulation loop and the systemic circulation loop. The pulmonary circulation transport deoxygenated blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs. During pulmonary circulation blood picks up oxygen and returns to the left side of the heart. The right atrium and the right ventricle support the pulmonary circulation loop. The systemic circulation carries highly oxygenated bloodfrom the left side of the heart to all of the tissues of the body. During systemic circulation it then removes wastes from body tissues and returns deoxygenated blood to the right side of the heart. The left atrium and the left ventricle of the heart support the systemic circulation loop. Blood vessels are responsible for the blood to flow dynamically from the heart to every part of the body and then back to a continuous cycle which takes about one minute (Tim Taylor, 2014). The size of the blood vessels correlates with the amount of blood that passes through the vessel (Tim Taylor, 2014). The hollow area of the blood vessel is called the lumen which can either be thin or thick depending on which organ it flows through (Tim Taylor, 2014). The Patient Will See You Now HMO Book Report Poster: The Patient Will See You Now Summary: The book, The Patient Will See You Now, by Eric Topol, withholds an extreme amount of educational value and discusses how the vast world of medicine can combine with the ever expanding world of technology to make things such as medical information, diagnoses, treatments, and even prescriptions at our fingertips. This book takes the point of view from Dr. Eric Topol, a cardiologist who is trying to better the world of medicine while increasing the convenience of it at the same time. The goal that Dr. Topol is trying to establish is that in this day and age, there is absolutely no need for one to have to wait so long to see a doctor. In fact, why should the general population have to wait what feels like hours in a waiting room, or even days for an appointment to be made when everything can be presented right in front of us? Medicine is advancing at such a fast rate that now scientists and doctors can find cures to diseases in a matter of months, or sometimes even days after they are discovered. Since we have such high advances in the fields of science and medicine, people all over the world (more than just doctors and nurses) should have access to know what these diseases do and how to cure them the second that they are discovered. This concept seems something that would be nearly impossible to achieve, but thanks to breakthroughs in new technology and silicon, this dream can surely turn into a reality. ... Usually when people judge romance they assume of dating, but the Romantic Period was not about dating, it was a time of great emotion, creativity, imagination, adventure, and was a time of political revolution. Romanticism originated in Western Europe in the second half of the 18th century, and gained much strength during the Industrial Revolution. This era was a time of great change, and unlike the Classical era, the Romantic era allowed artistic creativity, freedom, and experimentation. The Romantic Period brought a flood of women who began writing and expressing themselves through literary works. Women increased recognition during the romantic era. They devolved into music teachers, composers, singers and performers. Although they were still in the opposition of music professions, the women in this era opened the doors for opportunities in the future. A few dominant impacts were Pauline Viardot, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, and Clara Schumann. They even had some of their works published. (Young: 235 237) Women have been active participants in the musical world since antiquity, but discussions of their efforts have traditionally been neglected in favor of those of male musicians. Beginning in the romantic era, encouraged by the flourishing feminist movement, scholars began to investigate the musical activities of female musicians in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Greek, Egyptian, and Roman people had similar political and societal ideals that they adhered to, eventually inspiring the modern societal world we live in today. Without the ancient and Greek cultural influences, the Roman societal beliefs of sexuality would not be what is characterized as uniquely Roman. As a matter of fact, it was believed in Roman culture that homosexuality was not alone inappropriate, but it was the role of a male acting submissive that was considered shameful. Men are to be seen as superior in strength, as illustrated before in the Greek culture with the Olympic Games (Sayre, 118). While women were to be inferior and passive in nature. The characteristic drew people to do selfish things like join a band of robbers or continuously ask for money, but don t we have greed in our society today? The Good Earth was set around 1930, or earlier, and Wang Lung, the main character, lives for about 70 years. Wang Lung is followed through his life in The Good Earth. What does greed in 1930 s China have in common with greed in today s 2018 society, and what is different? The characteristic greed in The Good Earth plays a big role in Wang Lung s life. Wang Lung s uncle is the perfect example of greed because he is always asking for more. He goes as far as to join The Red Beards, a well known band of robbers, to gain wealth. Another person with a lot of greed in The Good Earth is Lotus. Lotus is very greedy because she is always asking for money to spend on luxuries. Another example is Wang Lung himself. Wang Lung never fully acknowledges the fact that Olan is primarily responsible for his wealth because she stole the jewels from the rich people in the south. The lightened recipe turned up the heat, but kept the calorie count low. This project was a good way to start a fresh/new healthy lifestyle. The process to make delicious healthy tacos was not very complicated. There were very few bumps on the way but in the end, the meal was exquisite. First, I had to convince my parents to take me to a local grocery store (also known as Coborns) to buy some of the ingredients. Some of the ingredients were low price, but others were a pretty penny. Afterwards, when we got home, I got to start the cooking right away. Other than burning the tomatoes, the process went pretty marvelous. My mother had to help me grill the chicken and measure the amounts of ingredients it was needed to make a meal for three. After the chicken, salsa, and guacamole was ready to serve, my parents and I sat down at the table and served each plates. Some elements that were challenging to make was the chicken and the salsa and finding the right spices (especially for the chicken). The movie started off with Alice giving a speech in an auditorium to hundreds of people when all of a sudden she forgot part of her speech. At first, she is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer s at the age of 50. But later on, things start to get worse, she began to forget things more and more; she was officially diagnosed from a doctor with dementia later on. The movie itself was very saddening and showed how Alzheimer s can affect one s family, friends, and everyday life traumatically. From the aspect of the caregiver, the symptoms of dementia are disheartening. Dementia itself is a progressive decline in memory, learning, and thinking abilities. I think that the title of the movie Still Alice brings up a good point. When someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer s, how much of their identity do they still have left? In The Glass Castle it is revealed that as Jeannette grew up, she endured hardships inflicted upon her by her own parents. However, if Jeannette had not gone through these things, she never would have gained the characteristics that she values present day. Although Jeannette Walls faced hardships and endured suffering during her childhood, these obstacles formed her into a self reliant woman who proves that just because you do not have as much money as other families, you can still achieve success in your life. Throughout her life, starting from childhood, Jeannette Walls suffered through multiple hardships that could lead her away from a successful adult life. Since she was young, her parents put her through things that a child should never be exposed to, which could lead her to make these same mistakes as she grew older. For example, her father was an alcoholic, and from this many problems sprouted. Furthermore, her mother never wanted to be tied down, and loathed the idea of family life, as she did not want the responsibility of raising a family. Rose Mary was depicted as self centered in the novel, and did not think of her children, as she only thought of her own needs. This can be shown when she keeps the diamond ring her children found for herself. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Wayne Dwyer) There is no description or analogy more accurate to describe my experience both watching and performing dance this past semester at Connecticut College. As a freshman, it was difficult to move forward with dancein a new environment since I have had the same dance experience for 15 years. I found myself equating movements and steps to styles more known to me; I was searching for comfort among the abundance of unfamiliarity. The challenge was to embrace modern dancing for everything it entailed. Through watching both professional dancers and other students, as well as improving my personal technique, I certainly feel that I have found a new appreciation for dance. Of all the dance performances this semester, my favorite was the Department Concert. Even though all of the artists were extraordinary to watch, I was able to connect with the dancers most during the Department Concert. Watching Connecticut College students perform gave me a different feeling than the other shows. I could relate to the performers better because I have had conversations with them outside of dance and they have been there as mentors to me and the other freshmen. This feeling of inclusion was only possible because of the atmosphere of the department; everyone, regardless of class year, is genuinely welcomed. As a young person, one looks forward to many goals in their lifetime: career success, a good life, and very often marriage to the person they love and a family together. This is one of the biggest parts of our American life and culture. Very few heterosexuals would be willing to put their right to marry on a ballot for voter approval, or even in their wildest dreams [nightmares?] have to consider doing that.
