The Current Scope Of The Cba
At this stage, the CBA analysts should decide the geographical scope of the CBA. Decide
whether analysis should be carried out on local, regional, national, or global level. Standing
determines whose benefits and costs will be counted. Identify and make a list of interest groups or
stakeholders that are likely to be affected by each project alternatives also an important part at this
step.
According to the business case, from the objectives and the costs and the benefits of the project, it
can be seen that the costs and benefits count from the local and state perspective. The travel time
impacts, for example, will significantly influence to the people who live along the corridor and
others who pass the road along the corridor. The project also count from the point of view of the
ACT government as the project is part of the ACT government commitment to improve the ACT
public transport system, and from businesses perspective as it will provide economic benefits. From
the global standing, environmental benefits such as lower pollution and greenhouse effects also
taken into account. Therefore, the business case presents a clear whose costs and benefits taken
into account.
However, it would be better if the analysts make a list of interest groups/stakeholders that are likely
to be affected by the project. In general, consider the following groups: consumers, firms,
government and NGOs. Point out interest groups that get the benefits and who bear the costs.
At this step, the CBA

Long-Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls
Long Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls
Undra Parker
Wayland Baptist University
Abstract
Parental divorce can result in devastating effects on children. These children suffer tremendous long
term consequences as a result of an event that is not their doing. This paper reviews literature and
opinions concerning the long term effects of divorce on adolescents. The paper outlines four major
areas of interest: aggression as a result of parental conflict and the different types associated with
boys and girls, depression in the lives of boys and girls in its various forms, the choice boys and
girls make to marry or not later in life and the possibility of adolescents expressing parental
alienation. The results of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a study published in 2007, Sarrazin and Cyr claim that aggression is more rampant if the child
is left in the custody of the less dominant parent. If the child identifies him or herself with the less
dominating opposite sex or the dominating same sex parent there could be increased problems of
aggression. If the father is the dominant figure then boys show fewer problems and vice versa
for girls if the mother is the dominant figure [ (Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. The father figure is
very important especially to adolescent boys because when father is absent they react more
aggressively than girls [ (Dreman, 2000; Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. Portnoy [ (2006) ] stated
that 20 percent of divorced fathers do not see their children at all during their high school years [
(p. 76) ]. Oftentimes when boys are placed in the custody of the mother these mothers identify sons
with their ex spouse which results in the child exerting more aggression either towards the custodial
parent, non custodial parent or others [ (Dreman, 2000) ].
Research has identified different types of aggression to include instrumental, reactive, relational,
bullying aggression (Berger, 2008; Merrell, Buchanan, amp; Tran, 2006; Cappella amp; Weinstein,
2006) and social aggression [ (Merrell, Buchanan, amp; Tran, 2006; Cappella amp; Weinstein,
2006) ].

Flexible Schedule Essay
Why is it important for children to experience a consistent yet flexible schedule?
Children like consistent because they feel comfortable and know what to expect. Children also
need flexible so they are able to understand that change happen. However it is how we deal as adult
with the change that they view.
What are the benefits for including active and quite times in a child s schedule (you do not need to
list every benefit, but can list two benefits of physical activity/active play and two benefits of rest
and relaxation).
Having physical activity and play helps with less of rough and tumble play and there is less
mistaken behavior. Benefits of rest and relaxation is that children some don t get enough of sleep

looking at all the sample I though they all look relative similar, however the first grade schedule
was to me a little confusing because the way it was set up from the rest of the samples.
Comparing other primary class I was confused on the separation on Low group, medium and
high. How these groups are form and if a sub was coming in I would be confused on what
activities or lunch come first. I think this schedule should be label out. I think the having label out
what each adult should be doing is a good idea (ie teacher, assistant and independent worker)
especially in a teacher schedule, but there is not any buffer activities that I could tell to reduce

Examples Of Individualism In Anthem
Anthem: A Scuffle with Collectivism Anthem / anTHem / noun 1. A rousing or uplifting song
identified with a particular, body, or cause. Ayn Rand has changed and manipulated the definition of
Anthem. Anthem by Ayn Rand tells the story of a street sweeper named Equality 7 2521 that
discovers individualism in a collectivist society where individualism is strongly discouraged.
Throughout the novel, Anthem conveys themes of governmental monopoly and the loss of
individual identity. A theme explored by Anthem is the loss of individual identity and the struggle
to find his individualism. The time he found his own identity was when he ran into the forbidden
forest discovered the forbidden word I and he said I am, I think, I will. Rand (pg 94).... Show more

At the beginning of the book, Equality 7 2521 told the reader The laws say that men cannot
write unless the council of vocations bid to do so. Rand (pg 17). He was advising that the
writing of this book is illegal by the council. When you read this you see that he is breaking a
major law and how you can t write information or express your feelings, but only read things
approved by the council. It makes the reader as if they are constrained to reading bias information
rather from many other viewpoints. When Equality 7 2521 and The Golden One went to the world
council to display his invention of the lightbulb and they ordered him; It must be destroyed! Rand
(pg 74). The World Council told him that he couldn t be smarter than his brothers just because he
was a street sweeper and that with this invention, it would the candle department. It makes the
reader think about why the government would want to shield an innovative invention to the public
and not let them choose whether they would want to use candles or lightbulbs. When Equality 7
2521 was 10 years old he witnessed the public execution of the Transgressor of the Unspeakable
Word. He figured out about individualism and referring to himself as I rather than We . He died
with no pain because he was happy when because he found out about individualism, something the

Japanese Internment Camps During Ww2
During WW2 many efforts were performed to make the Japanese American internees and
American POWs in Japan feel invisible. There was more than 140,000 prisoners of war, and
about 120,000 Japanese that were put in internment camps, during WW2. Although, they were
made to feel invisible, each group found a way to resist the efforts. The POW s were made to feel
invisible by they had no contact home, they were made to feel that they lost their dignity, and they
were beaten and starved. The Japanese put in internment camps were innocent people that were
made to feel invisible by they had to leave their houses, other belongings, and they were
disconnected from the outside world. Louie Zamperini who was a POW in Japan describes his

For example, The bird tried to know Louie down;Louie wobbled but wouldn t fall....Other
prisoners warned Louie that he has to show deference or the Bird would never stop. Louie
couldn t do it. (Hillenbrand) Louie wouldn t let the Bird destroy him and never gave up or let him
win which helped him avoid feeling invisible. The Japanese put in internment camps resisted the
efforts by making the best of the situation. For example, We would play things like hopscotch, but
mostly we were just running around. Also, they did have church there. I didn t go, I went to
Sunday school though. (Sato Hashizume) The Japanese would distract themselves from the
situation, by playing games with other people in the camp, and going to church and school. The
Japanese knew they were being made to feel invisible and resisted the efforts by making the best
of the situation and distracting themselves from what was going on. POW s were made to feel

The Characters Of Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee
Introduction: Matt Berman from Common Sense Media commented, This richly textured
novel, woven from the strands of small town life, lets readers walk in the shoes of one fully
realized character after another. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, one of the major
messages is identity. Harper Lee lets the people look into the perspectives and identity of some of
the characters that make it seem very life like. In the novel, many characters possess both
admirable and dislikable qualities which are shown through their actions. With the nurturing of her
father, Scout contains the charming qualities of being courage and mature for her age. The father
that instilled these characteristics in Scout, is Atticus Finch. While dealing with the stressful case
of Tom Robinson, Atticus maintains to keep the likable aspects of sympathy and strong will.
The antagonist in this novel fighting against Tom Robinson is Bob Ewell. Bob Ewell has
instilled, in him, the terrible qualities of cruelty and racism. These life like characters that Harper
Lee illustrates gives people a clear vision of who the characters portray. Body Paragraphs: Scout
was raised in a time with racial prejudices going on around her. This instilled in her the admirable
qualities of courage and maturity. Her father, Atticus Finch, was fighting for the freedom of the
opposing side, the one everybody despised. This caused her to be put in many dangerous and hate
filled situations in public which included school and the

However, the American Heart Association (AHA) reports that cigarette smoking is responsible for
440,000 deaths each year. MedlinePlus reports that both cigarettes (smoking tobacco) and chewing
(smokeless) tobacco are bad for your health, and cause multiple and often fatal health problems.
Cardiovascular Disease
One negative effect that tobacco and nicotine addiction has on the health of the body is
cardiovascular disease. AHA reports that cigarette smokers are two to three times more likely to
develop cardiovascular disease than people who do not smoke. Also according to AHA, of the
440,000 deaths each year caused by cigarette smoking, 135,000 are due to smoking related
cardiovascular diseases. Nicotine in tobacco products causes an increase in blood pressure and
heart rate, and a narrowing of the arteries. Carbon monoxide that is inhaled when tobacco is
smoked decreases the amount of oxygen carried by the blood to feed the body s tissues. The
AHA reports that carbon monoxide and nicotine damages the artery walls, which leads to the
deposition of fat and narrowing of arteries, which further increases blood pressure. Damaged
vessels and high blood pressure are all risk factors for heart failure. Furthermore, smoking tobacco
causes the blood to clot more easily, which may cause a heart attack or stroke. see survivor stories

Civil War Dbq
The civil war was an ugly fight between the North, which was called the Union, they were against
slavery, and the South who were called the Confederacy, they were for slavery. During the civil war
both the south and north needed African American to serve in many things such as, helping build
fortifications, to put artillery in place and meet other military needs. This connects to my learning
by saying that the military needed help building forts and putting things together. The Northern and
Southern armies had very different views of African Americans military service in the Civil War.
One way that we know this is by looking at two recruitment posters. A confederate recruitment
poster from 1862 shows that the south viewed blacks as laborors.

Bior Recognition Memory
This study is important for our understanding of the relationship between social inhibition of return
(SIOR) and recognition memory. SIOR is defined as the impact of a person s action on the
observer, which can result in slower responses to the same repeated location. This research
hypothesizes that SIOR has an effect on recognition memory. An experiment was set to examine
this inhibition of action response to recognition memory, participants were influenced by SIOR and
biased in recognition memory test (RMT). This experiment has been conducted in the standard
SIOR paradigm and a RMT to determine whether SIOR inhibits retrieval of memory. Twenty six
participants were recruited in this experiment. A pair of participants were sitting opposite... Show

Posner and Cohen (1984) found that an inhibition showed when a participant responded to the
previous cued location in a relatively long cue target time interval whereas facilitation showed
when a participant responded to the previous cued location in a short cue target interval. The
reason for the absence of inhibitory effect is that a larger facilitation masked the inhibitory
effect at the short cue target stimulus. Posner and Cohen (1984) discovered an IOR using a
simple cuing paradigm, which is to measure IOR through central and peripheral cued boxes that
aid to generate IOR either in endogenous or exogenous signals. In the classical experiment,
participants were asked to fixate at the central box and then responded to one of the two
peripheral brightening boxes, which was a cue to summon participants attention. Higher
probability of target was then presented as a dot with probability of 0.6 in the central box to
withhold the participant s attention. Participants were then asked to make a manual respond to
target box quickly. The result showed an early facilitation and late inhibition of the cued side and
a reduction of RT was observed in the uncued side. In the cue side, a reduction of RT was similar
to the uncued side before 250 msec. However, an increase of RT occurred after approximately 250
msec. Posner and Cohen (1984) suggest that

for the period in history when it was written. Let s take a look at what religion has accomplished
in the twenty first century. Meet Cardinal Bernard Francis Law, former Archpriest of the Basilica
di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome from 2004 to 2011. Cardinal Law was appointed by Pope John
Paul II, considered in the Catholic Religion to be the Vicar of Christ on earth (earthly
representative of Jesus). Before his appointment by the Popein 2004, Cardinal Law was the

supervisory figures, the Archpriests, then up to the Cardinals, and finally the Pope. And where
has this money gone? To the families to silence them from letting you know of the rape and
torture of your children at the hands of Catholic priests. To simply say or hear the word rape,
assuming a priori that you understand what those children endured is part of the problem. You

Color Guard Reflection
Sophomore Iman Hearing swings her flags gracefully over her shoulder and takes her place in
line. As one of six, she marches down to the football field in front of the band, chin lifted and
smiling big.
[In Color Guard], I get to go out and show people what I can do, said Iman, who has been on the
team for one year. That s really fun for me.
Color Guard is the visuals of the band, hence why they are sometimes called the Visual Unit. Every
time the marching band performs, the Color Guard is right there with them. They march with the
band during pregame, perform at halftime, and even perform at Bandtasia.
Only about half of the girls on the team had any kind of background relating dance or Color
Guard before they joined the team. Each and every team member started with a blank canvas.
They all had to pick up skills associated with Color Guard as they went. Many of the girls had to
learn how to do flag tosses and spins at the Color Guard auditions.
I didn t have anything relating to [dance or Color Guard] in my background, Iman said. It wasn t
super hard to pick up or learn how to do.
But Color Guard is in no sense easy; it is tricky for the Color Guard to handle their props. Junior
and captain Abby Stritzinger knows first hand the difficulties with props.
Someone got too close to me with their flag and actually hit my head, said Abby, who has been on
the team for three years. It s never fun when you get hit in the head with a flag. Color Guard uses
four different flags, one for pregame and one for each of the three songs at the halftime show. The
pregame flag is green and white and is of a usual size, which means its pole is six feet long. The
flag used for the first song in the halftime show, Eleanor and Rigby, is the regular size, too, and it
fades from pink to a yellowish orange color. The flag used for the third song, Bohemian
Rhapsody, is like the one used for the first but instead of the fade of colors, the flag is the
yellowish orange color with white streaks across it.
The flag used for the second song, Wishing You Were Here, is special and different than the other
three flags. It is called a swing flag. This means that is has a shorter pole that is more flexible and
bends easier

The Blue Whale project was another successful action for community involvement. The Jacobs

Later the Museum began to exchange stock with the Azorean Maritime Heritage Society and was

Overview of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, otherwise
known as ADHD, is a very common brain disorder that is predominantly found in children but can
continue through adulthood (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2012). It prevents
individuals from focusing their attention, and individuals often have trouble with their conduct due
as well (hyperactivityto hyperactivity or , impulsivity). Brain imaging studies have revealed that
the brain matures normally in youth with ADHD, but it is delayed an average of 3 years. The delay
is most profound in the brain region involving planning, thinking, and paying attention. More recent
studies have found that the outer layer of the brain showed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These treatment guidelines are helpful for clinicians to determine which treatments parents are
likely to initiate for their children (Robert, 2013). The primary care physician should initiate an
evaluation for ADHD for any child 4 through 18 years of age, who presents with academic or
behavioral problems and symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity. To make a
diagnosis of ADHD, the primary care clinician should establish that the DSM 5 criteria have been
met; information should be obtained from reports from parents, teachers, and other school or
mental health clinicians involved in the caretaking of the child (Robert, 2013). During the
evaluation for ADHD, the primary care doctor should include assessment for other co existing
conditions, including emotional, developmental, behavioral, and physical problems. The primary
care physician should inform the parents or guardian that ADHD is a chronic condition because
it does not typically go away. If a child is diagnosed with ADHD, they will more than likely
experience it in adulthood as well. However, it is possible for children to out grow some of the
behaviors. As children mature, symptoms usually become less prominent. By late childhood and
early adolescence, signs of excessive activity are less common, and hyperactivity symptoms may be
confined to jitteriness or an inner feeling of restlessness (John M.

Fourth, I want my patients to feel that I am a competent nurse. When I come into the room, I don

The Battle Of The Gettysburg
Today, the Battle of Gettysburg is considered one of the most important battles of the American
Civil War. However, with 23,049 casualties on the Union side and 28,063 on the Confederate side,
it can also be considered one of the bloodiest (Civil War Trust). Such heavy losses naturally rattled
the entire nation and Americans on both sides began to question the war and what it stood for. As
Americans gathered together at the consecration ceremony of the Gettysburg National Cemetery,
the much acclaimed orator and politician Edward Everett delivered what was meant to be the
Gettysburg Address. Yet, today, it is not Edward Everett s Gettysburg Address that the world
remembers, but Abraham Lincolns, who was invited to the ceremony almost as an afterthought.
Lincoln s 272 words helped remake America by giving hope to its citizens at a time when they
were at their lowest.
For Everett, the Battle of Gettysburg was a parallel to the ancient Battle of Marathon and his
moment up on the stage delivering his Address was his Pericles moment. The nineteenth century
was a time of Greek revival for America, a time when America came to be considered the second
Athens. This Greek revival manifested itself in everything from architecture to courses at
universities, but perhaps most importantly, in orations at the time. Everett played a significant role
in this Greek revival as he was not only a Greek scholar but also a proponent of classicism. With
his Gettysburg Address, Everett hoped to

The Contributions Of Pragmatism In The Hellenistic Period
It was only after Alexander s conquest of the Greek homeland that classical ideas were put under
pressure by a changing political climate and social disruption, eventually causing the expanding
Greek world to turn to pragmatism and realism. The ensuing Hellenistic period saw a move
towards practical applications of scientific knowledge and art styles reflecting the more complex
emotions familiar to Hellenistic Greeks. However, despite changing attitudes, the ingenuity and
technical proficiency of Greek individuals was generally undiminished. In mathematics, for
example, Euclid (365 300 BCE) wrote 13 groundbreaking books on geometry that continued to be
used until the late 19th century and virtually invented classical (Euclidean) geometry as we know it
(Mastin, pars. 3). Archimedes, a 3rd century BCE mathematician from Syracuse, made significant
practical advances in the field of physics, inventing the compound pulley and the Archimedean
screw; he famously stated, give me a fulcrum, and I ll shift the Earth, affirming his faith in applied
science (Cary, 349). Early biologists and naturalists of the Hellenistic periodincreasingly sought
applications in medicine, which vastly improved medical care (Cary, 351). Astronomy also saw
advances in practical knowledge from figures such as Eratosthenes, who calculated the
circumference of the Earth, and Hipparchus, who determined the length of the moon s orbit to
within one second (Violatti (a), pars. 9). Architecture, once held up

Building A Successful Business Empire
INTRODUCTION;
All businesses aim to be successful and well off; but this does not just happen by the snap of your
fingers, rather needs to be organized in each possible step.
One of the main steps to this is; management. Thus, I shall begin by defining and explaining what
management itself is.
Management according to Management Innovations, 2008, is the process of reaching

MANAGEMENT PHILOSOPHIES; these are different strategies that leaders choose to use to lead
their group, so that they would be motivated to work and how each employee should be treated. The
main function of management philosophy is to make the decision making process fast and
efficient. (Management Philosophy, Business Dictionary, 2015)
A couple of management philosophies are classical management, behavioral management,
quantitative, systems, contingency and quality.
I will talk about 2 management theories and also about their advantages and disadvantages (pros
and cons).
1)BEHAVIOURAL APPROACH;
This is also known as human relation movement. In this type of school, the theorists believe that
they should try to understand the different factors that may influence the human behavior of an
employee at work. (School of thought management, 2011)
There are some theorists who have investigated onto this theory. one of them is; Elton Mayo; he
believed that workers were not just motivated by they pay they get, but would be more motivated if
their social needs are satisfied alongside working. He concluded by saying that employees work
better in groups, and they are motivated by the good available communication between themselves
and their managers. (Behavioral Management, Cliff Notes, 2015)
Advantages;
a)Work satisfaction; it will motivate them to work hard and will be satisfied since they will be
getting benefits alongside the pay.
b)Increased self

The Dumb Generation Dumb Analysis
The younger generation is well known for being the generation distracted by social media. Mark
Bauerlein believes that a paradoxical and distressing situation is upon us because the youngest
generation disregarding literature, is self absorbed, and is attached to pop culture media. For adults
to call this generation dumb simply because they do not understand the technology that most teens
do, is the ignorant component of today s society. Instead of insulting this generation, elders should
embrace this new phase of innovation and creativity that will create new jobs, new technology, and
a new way of thinking. Silicon Valley located in the southern portion of the San Francisco Bay

Crypto Wars Case
Case Synopsis
The Crypto Wars is the name for the U.S. government s attempts to limit the public s and foreign
nations access to cryptography strong enough to resist decryption by national intelligence
agencies.1 U. S. Government law enforcement officials want tech companies to give them a
backdoor into encrypted cellphones and other devices. Tech companies object to it. There have
been bills drafted in Congress on this issue. Apparently, I will object to a bill to require tech
companies to provide a backdoor because it infringes the privacy rights of smartphone users. This
is the ethical challenge about privacy behind the Crypto Wars. However, this is a Right vs. Right
issue since under specific circumstances, such as kidnapping and terrorism, it is necessary to have
the access of a backdoor into encrypted mobile devices. This issue ... Show more content on

Government Law Enforcement Officials Claim
In October 2014, FBI Director James Comey is asking Congress to force cellphone developers
into building backdoors into all devices for law enforcement surveillance as the response to new
customer data encryption standards adopted by Apple and Google.3 U.S. government law
enforcement officials argued that the new encryption standards of Apple and Google would make it
easier for bad guys to evade arrest since it is hard for the police to track data under unused
encryption. Comey asked Congress to update the 1994 Communications Assistance for Law
Enforcement Act, which mandates telephone companies wiretapping digital and Internet
communications.
This year on June 1st, two lawmakers are urging Comey to drop his pursuit of decrypting
smartphone communications since it is impossible without weakening device security.4 At present,
the bureau has not drafted legislation to address this issue yet. These sources for the facts of this
case are very reliable because they are all from regular channels like The Washington Post,

The Consequences Of Discipline In Children By Ray Bradbury
Jim Rohn once said, Discipline is the foundation upon which all success is built. Lack of
discipline inevitably leads to failure Ray Bradbury would agree with this notion as he addresses
the consequences of not disciplining your children. Ray Bradbury shows the conflict of Lydia
and George, wealthy parents who live in a futuristic society, of not spending enough time with
their spoiled and entitled children Wendy and Peter. The conflict between the parents and the
children is the harms of technology. The author uses motifs, conflicts, and allusions to suggest
that a healthy family unit is parents disciplining their children and spending time with them. Ray
Bradbury uses various motifs in the nursery to warn the audience of the impending fate of Lydia
and George for not disciplining their children. The nursery consisted of lions so real, so
feverishly and startlingly real that you could feel the prickling fur on your hand and the couple s
screams after which they realized why those other screams had sounded so familiar. (Bradbury 3,
14). The description of the lions provides the reader with a clear sense of how real the nursery
looks; the couple s screams foreshadow the downfall of the couple in the nursery. These items show
how the parents allowed the kids to become spoiled and attached to the nursery and gave the love
for their parents to the nursery, and we see this with the motifs. The nursery shows the relationship
between the children and the parents. The nursery

The Harmful Effects Of Child Labour
Abstract:
Child labour has many repercussions for the children, for their families and for the society as a
whole. The harmful effects of child labour can be seen in inadequate physical development,
various illnesses and deformities, damage to their central nervous system, impoverishment of
their mental faculties and indulgence in immoral acts. Family of the working child suffers the
economic loss in the long run and loses social bonds and ties within family which may ultimately

The incidence of earning money from childhood generates a feeling of independence among
children due to which they like to behave freely and promiscuously and do not like to be
subjected to control and discipline by other family members and are seen in many cases, even
before marriage indulging in sexual acts. Thus the family not only suffers the economic loss in the
long run but also becomes subjected to lose social bonds and ties within the family, and at times,
even family disorganisation occurs. This survey study empirically investigates into dimensions of

REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Khandekar and Naik (1972) observed that since the early years are meant to equip oneself with
knowledge, techniques and skills for one s different adult roles in the society, having to take up
a job at a young age to earn a living, is bound to affect the very process of growing up.
Chakraborty (1991) found that wage rate of child labourers was nearly 69.43 percent and 64.48
percent of adult male wage rate in 1984 85 and 1986 87 respectively. But the man days of
employment for adult males in agriculture and all other occupations were 242 and 257 and for
children there were 307 and 315 respectively in 1984 and 1987. He has advanced the argument that

Gun Ownership And Gun Related Homicides
Abstract
Several peer reviewed studies on the subject of gun ownership and gun related homicides were
identified and reviewed. During the research phase it was noted that there are opponents and
proponents of gun control that present logical sounding arguments, but there have been several
research studies conducted that suggest that there is a positive correlational relationship between
gun ownership and gun related deaths, particularly gun related homicides. This paper will review
many studies that have been conducted on the correlation between gun ownership and availability
and the rate of gun related homicides. The majority of the studies focus on comparing the United
States to other countries since it has been found that the United States has a disproportionate
amount of gun related deaths when compared to other countries of comparable economic and
political status.
The Relationship between Gun Ownership and Gun Related Homicides
The Second Amendment states that A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a
free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. It is likely that no
other single statement has created more debate between people in the United States. Some people
believe that the Second Amendment was written with the intention of allowing citizens of the
United States to individually keep and bear guns for their safety and defense. Other people argue
that the language of Second Amendment

The Current Public Education System
Better Schooling
The current public education system claims to have the student s best interest as a top priority, but
in reality, it is actually harming the students. Almost all are short changed the way education is set
up now. Boys and girls learn in different ways. They are not different merely because of how they
are treated in society, but because of how their brains function. However, when teachers try to teach
different genders at the same time, the majority of the time, it just will not work. Badly needed are
teachers that understand the differences between, and how to teach, boys and girls. Coed schools
hurt more than they help, not allowing children to reach their potential. Single sex schooling is
more beneficial to the student s learning.
Many claim that by separating young girls and boys, gender stereotypes are being enforced. In
2013, UCLA put together findings of pros and cons to single sex education. Among the downsides,
a common fear was that this undermines gender equality. The thought is, because girls and boys
are in different schools, this means one can t do what the other can. Generally, this means girls can
t be as competitive, or independent, and boys can t be as caring, or artistic. These stereotypes are in
the current society, men holding higher paying jobs, and women being mothers or teachers, the
more nurturing jobs. But, today s men and women who fall into this common stereotype have
grown up to become how they are through coeducation. A new

Comparing The Characters In Ray Bradbury s The Paterson...
In Ray Bradbury s fictional novel about the horrifying future, he discusses topics that, politically
and socially, can relate to Judith Ortiz Cofer s short story; The Paterson Public Library. These two
pertain to each other because both Bradbury s and Cofer s characters are afraid of situations that
involve books. Though they do compare in many ways, there are also differences between the
stories.
Cofer says that every trip to the library would be a dangerous one because of the black girl
Lorraine. It took me through enemy territory, says Cofer. Bradbury s character Montag was
afraid of being seen with books because they were illegal and he was afraid that he would be
burned for having them. In a similar manner, Cofer was afraid of being in a situation on her way
to get her books. She was afraid that the older bully would hurt her.
Montag is more hostile when he takes action in Bradbury s novel. Cofer does not take action, she is
a tutor for her bully and she cannot get through to the bully. Bradbury s bully, it turns out, is one of
Montag s friends. Beatty is a friend of Montag in the beginning of Bradbury s novel, later in the
story, though; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cofer preserves her intelligence and gains intelligence through the use of books. This could

hints at the way we used books in our society and abuse them today. We do not appreciate the
way that they are mistreated and basically left to rot in the unused libraries. Since we treat books
very wrong and don t use them to gain knowledge and explore the depths of our imagination,

Characteristics that sets Marvin Gaye Apart from Popular Recordings:
What set Mr. Gaye apart from other popular recordings of the time was that his controversial

violence of the Vietnam War, which he and Motown did not see eye to eye, however the single

. Before the short story begins, Hemingway simply tells the story of a leopard s skeleton that is
said to lie at a high altitude on the slope of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is up to the reader to decide
how to relate this tale to the rest of the short story, but it is obvious at this point that death will
play an important role in the story. The main storyline develops around the deadly infection of
Harry s leg after suffering from a thorn scratch. He talks about death in the very first sentence of
the short story, saying The marvelous thing is that it s painless, that s how you know when it
starts (Hemingway 4). As the story develops, Harry frequently mentions his wish to die or thee
way he feels that death is very close now: You can shoot me. You re a good shot now
(Hemingway 4). and I don t want to move, there is no sense in moving now except to make it
easier for you (Hemingway 8) and Can t you let a man die as comfortably as he can without
calling him names? (Hemingway 8) and Don t be silly. I m dying now (Hemingway 8). It
sounds as if Harry is giving up, not necessarily because he is a coward, even though his wife calls
him that, but more because he feels that it is more comfortable for him at this point to lay down
and die instead of waiting for a truck or airplane that will probably never arrive: I

stubbornly for her independence. Her determination and power are manifested when the doctor,

However, the ironic power of her attempted suicide is reflected in the sudden action she inspires in
Jack. The moment that Jack sees Mabel in the water he is strangely

The Law Determining Who Is A De Facto Director Essay
Assignment
QUESTION 1:
Critically examine the view that the law determining who is a de facto director is unclear.
Introduction
Directors may be of three kinds: de jure directors, that is to say, those who have been validly
appointed to the office; de facto directors, that is to say, directors who assume to act as directors
without having been appointed validly or at all; and shadow directors who are persons with
whose directions of instructions the directors of the company are accustomed to act (cite Re
Hydrodam). De Jure directors are easy to recognize as they have officially been appointed as a
director and there is no uncertainty that they are a director of the company. This is not the case
with de facto and shadow directors. Although de facto and shadow directors appear mutually
exclusive, there is some overlap and it can be a difficult task proving that a person is a de facto or
a shadow director. As these persons may be liable for making negligent decisions in the management
of the company it is important that the law is clear in identifying them. The Trinidad and Tobago
Companies Act s.85 provides that An act of a director or officer is valid notwithstanding any
irregularity in his election or appointment, or any defect in his qualification. It is not necessary for
a director to be validly appointed for their actions to be valid therefore making their actions liable
for any malfeasance perpetrated by their instruction. This essay is solely interested

U-Boat Tactics in World War II
In September of 2012, Germany s last surviving U Boat captain who helped sink dozens of U.S.
and British ships has been honoured by the modern military in his homeland seven decades after
he was twice decorated by Hitler for bravery. It may seem grim to honor a person who referred to
American shooting season as his hobby during the war, but it is important to recognize the
contributions of U Boat commanders like Reinhard Hardegen. German submarines had been an
engineering vision since 1465, and preliminary German submarines were being manufactured as
early as 1850 with Sebastian Wilhelm Valentin Bauer s Brandtaucher design. The Brandtaucher
was much improved upon during the Industrial Age, which represented the peak of Kaiserdom in
Germany. With its financial coffers relatively full, the Kaiser was able to fund designs such as
those by Vogel in 1870 and Howaldt in 1891. However, Gustav Zede designed the Forelle (named
after the much beloved German trout fish) and it was the first truly successful German submarine
and was launched in 1903. From these early submarines evolved one of the world s most evocative
killing machines, the U Boats. Leading up to the development of the U Boat were a series of
military escalations, culminating in the start of the Great War. Throughout modern German history,
military technologies like the U Boat have been integral to strategic planning. Even when decisions
regarding U Boat development and deployment seemed senseless, as it

God And Classical Theism
The term theism, obtained from the Greek theos, or god , typically refers to belief in God, the
notion that all finite things are dependent on one supreme, self existent reality who is spoken of as
having personal essence or identity. God is widely regarded to have attributes that human beings
are also capable of emulating. In classical theism, Godis described as having attributes such as
goodness, love, grace, compassion, and other personal attributes that are common to human beings
as well. Attributes which can be enhanced through our determination and responsibility (Mackie,
1983). Classical theism can be identified by its fundamental articles of faith: First, it includes a god

Alternatively, the theist s more typical assertion is that God does not have a creator. The assertion
that there exists an entity who is the author of all things, should also be regarded with the
distinction other than himself. Secondly, the theist is not making the assertion that God is the
inventor of prime numbers, interpropositional relations or concepts. Some concepts, notions or
ideas exist as a direct result of a need that is simply based on logic. Things which exist as a
matter of logical need do not typically exist in tangible form and that they exist cannot be the work
of any creator; as they exist simply because they are (Robinson, 1963). The opinion that God solely
causes everything is known as occasionalism. Occasionalism is a version of Cartesian metaphysics,
that thrived in the last half of the 17th century, based on the belief that all communication between
mind and body is arbitrated by God. Occasionalism suggests that mind and body do not interact
directly, however, the impression of direct communication is sustained by God, who drives the
body on the mind s urging and who places suggestions in the mind when the body meets other

Innovation Report for Instant Coffee
Instant coffee, or soluble coffee, which is a beverage in liquid form made from coffee and can be
soon reconstituted by adding water, has been a popular product for decades (Allwords, n.d.).
People has gradually become so used to drinking instant coffee that some even did not know what
the fresh brewed coffeetastes like which was found as a result of tastes tests made by at least one
manufacturer (Stacey, Blachford Cengage, 2002). It would seem that the innovation of instant
coffee could make a considerable contribution to economy and people s daily life. The aim of this
essay is to analyze the innovation of instant coffee. It will firstly examine the history of coffee

where has originally been covered by other local beverage products. Instant coffee had to consider

challenge, especially in China, from Nescafe which has been recognized as the world leading

According to Chen (2008), China, a world of tea, where drinking tea had been part of people s

Rite Of Initiation In Araby By James Joyce
Rite of Initiation
Rite of initiation, sounds like something frightening, but in literature a rite or story of initiation
does not refer precisely to something of terror. The protagonist of Araby faces experiences for
which his previous experiences had not prepared him. In this case the main character enters a new
stage of his life (an evolutionary stage), from childhood to adolescence. For this reason, Araby, by
James Joyce, should be considered a story of initiation.
The protagonist, and at the same time the narrator of this story is a child that all the experiences
he has had are based on school and play with his friends. He lives in a small, quiet neighborhood,
where day to day life is monotonous. However, the protagonist loses interest in the games, since
something else catches his attention: the sister of his friend Mangan. This boy spends hours
looking at this girl and does not understand the sensations and feelings that she causes, feelings that
come to his life for the first time to make him discover love.
The protagonist has not lived before a similar situation since it is the first time that falls in love.
This first experience represents a discovery. This child does not understand the feelings
discovered and the state in which he is. (...) I myself did not understand (...) I thought little of the
future. I did not know whether I would ever speak to her or not or, if I spoke to her, how I could
tell her of my confused adoration (par. 5). The protagonist

Decide whether analysis should be carried out on local, regional, national, or global level. Standing determines whose benefits and costs will be counted. Identify and make a list of interest groups or stakeholders that are likely to be affected by each project alternatives also an important part at this step. According to the business case, from the objectives and the costs and the benefits of the project, it can be seen that the costs and benefits count from the local and state perspective. The travel time impacts, for example, will significantly influence to the people who live along the corridor and others who pass the road along the corridor. The project also count from the point of view of the ACT government as the project is part of the ACT government commitment to improve the ACT public transport system, and from businesses perspective as it will provide economic benefits. From the global standing, environmental benefits such as lower pollution and greenhouse effects also taken into account. Therefore, the business case presents a clear whose costs and benefits taken into account. Long-Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls Long Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls Undra Parker Wayland Baptist University Abstract Parental divorce can result in devastating effects on children. These children suffer tremendous long term consequences as a result of an event that is not their doing. This paper reviews literature and opinions concerning the long term effects of divorce on adolescents. The paper outlines four major areas of interest: aggression as a result of parental conflict and the different types associated with boys and girls, depression in the lives of boys and girls in its various forms, the choice boys and girls make to marry or not later in life and the possibility of adolescents expressing parental alienation. The results of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a study published in 2007, Sarrazin and Cyr claim that aggression is more rampant if the child is left in the custody of the less dominant parent. If the child identifies him or herself with the less dominating opposite sex or the dominating same sex parent there could be increased problems of aggression. If the father is the dominant figure then boys show fewer problems and vice versa for girls if the mother is the dominant figure [ (Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. The father figure is very important especially to adolescent boys because when father is absent they react more aggressively than girls [ (Dreman, 2000; Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. Portnoy [ (2006) ] stated that 20 percent of divorced fathers do not see their children at all during their high school years [ (p. 76) ]. Oftentimes when boys are placed in the custody of the mother these mothers identify sons with their ex spouse which results in the child exerting more aggression either towards the custodial parent, non custodial parent or others [ (Dreman, 2000) ]. Research has identified different types of aggression to include instrumental, reactive, relational, bullying aggression (Berger, 2008; Merrell, Buchanan, amp; Tran, 2006; Cappella amp; Weinstein, 2006) and social aggression [ (Merrell, Buchanan, amp; Tran, 2006; Cappella amp; Weinstein, 2006) ]. ... Anthem by Ayn Rand tells the story of a street sweeper named Equality 7 2521 that discovers individualism in a collectivist society where individualism is strongly discouraged. Throughout the novel, Anthem conveys themes of governmental monopoly and the loss of individual identity. A theme explored by Anthem is the loss of individual identity and the struggle to find his individualism. The time he found his own identity was when he ran into the forbidden forest discovered the forbidden word I and he said I am, I think, I will. Rand (pg 94).... When you read this you see that he is breaking a major law and how you can t write information or express your feelings, but only read things approved by the council. The World Council told him that he couldn t be smarter than his brothers just because he was a street sweeper and that with this invention, it would the candle department. It makes the reader think about why the government would want to shield an innovative invention to the public and not let them choose whether they would want to use candles or lightbulbs. When Equality 7 2521 was 10 years old he witnessed the public execution of the Transgressor of the Unspeakable Word. He figured out about individualism and referring to himself as I rather than We . To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, one of the major messages is identity. Harper Lee lets the people look into the perspectives and identity of some of the characters that make it seem very life like. While dealing with the stressful case of Tom Robinson, Atticus maintains to keep the likable aspects of sympathy and strong will. The antagonist in this novel fighting against Tom Robinson is Bob Ewell. Bob Ewell has instilled, in him, the terrible qualities of cruelty and racism. Cardiovascular Disease One negative effect that tobacco and nicotine addiction has on the health of the body is cardiovascular disease. AHA reports that cigarette smokers are two to three times more likely to develop cardiovascular disease than people who do not smoke. Also according to AHA, of the 440,000 deaths each year caused by cigarette smoking, 135,000 are due to smoking related cardiovascular diseases. Carbon monoxide that is inhaled when tobacco is smoked decreases the amount of oxygen carried by the blood to feed the body s tissues. The AHA reports that carbon monoxide and nicotine damages the artery walls, which leads to the deposition of fat and narrowing of arteries, which further increases blood pressure. SIOR is defined as the impact of a person s action on the observer, which can result in slower responses to the same repeated location. This research hypothesizes that SIOR has an effect on recognition memory. An experiment was set to examine this inhibition of action response to recognition memory, participants were influenced by SIOR and biased in recognition memory test (RMT). The reason for the absence of inhibitory effect is that a larger facilitation masked the inhibitory effect at the short cue target stimulus. Posner and Cohen (1984) discovered an IOR using a simple cuing paradigm, which is to measure IOR through central and peripheral cued boxes that aid to generate IOR either in endogenous or exogenous signals. In the classical experiment, participants were asked to fixate at the central box and then responded to one of the two peripheral brightening boxes, which was a cue to summon participants attention. Higher probability of target was then presented as a dot with probability of 0.6 in the central box to withhold the participant s attention. Participants were then asked to make a manual respond to target box quickly. The result showed an early facilitation and late inhibition of the cued side and a reduction of RT was observed in the uncued side. As one of six, she marches down to the football field in front of the band, chin lifted and smiling big. [In Color Guard], I get to go out and show people what I can do, said Iman, who has been on the team for one year. That s really fun for me. Color Guard is the visuals of the band, hence why they are sometimes called the Visual Unit. Every time the marching band performs, the Color Guard is right there with them. They march with the band during pregame, perform at halftime, and even perform at Bandtasia. Only about half of the girls on the team had any kind of background relating dance or Color Guard before they joined the team. Each and every team member started with a blank canvas. They all had to pick up skills associated with Color Guard as they went. Many of the girls had to learn how to do flag tosses and spins at the Color Guard auditions. I didn t have anything relating to [dance or Color Guard] in my background, Iman said. It wasn t super hard to pick up or learn how to do. But Color Guard is in no sense easy; it is tricky for the Color Guard to handle their props. Junior and captain Abby Stritzinger knows first hand the difficulties with props. Someone got too close to me with their flag and actually hit my head, said Abby, who has been on the team for three years. It s never fun when you get hit in the head with a flag. Color Guard uses four different flags, one for pregame and one for each of the three songs at the halftime show. The pregame flag is green and white and is of a usual size, which means its pole is six feet long. The flag used for the first song in the halftime show, Eleanor and Rigby, is the regular size, too, and it fades from pink to a yellowish orange color. The flag used for the third song, Bohemian Rhapsody, is like the one used for the first but instead of the fade of colors, the flag is the yellowish orange color with white streaks across it. The primary care physician should initiate an evaluation for ADHD for any child 4 through 18 years of age, who presents with academic or behavioral problems and symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity. To make a diagnosis of ADHD, the primary care clinician should establish that the DSM 5 criteria have been met; information should be obtained from reports from parents, teachers, and other school or mental health clinicians involved in the caretaking of the child (Robert, 2013). During the evaluation for ADHD, the primary care doctor should include assessment for other co existing conditions, including emotional, developmental, behavioral, and physical problems. However, with 23,049 casualties on the Union side and 28,063 on the Confederate side, it can also be considered one of the bloodiest (Civil War Trust). Such heavy losses naturally rattled the entire nation and Americans on both sides began to question the war and what it stood for. As Americans gathered together at the consecration ceremony of the Gettysburg National Cemetery, the much acclaimed orator and politician Edward Everett delivered what was meant to be the Gettysburg Address. Yet, today, it is not Edward Everett s Gettysburg Address that the world remembers, but Abraham Lincolns, who was invited to the ceremony almost as an afterthought. Lincoln s 272 words helped remake America by giving hope to its citizens at a time when they were at their lowest. For Everett, the Battle of Gettysburg was a parallel to the ancient Battle of Marathon and his moment up on the stage delivering his Address was his Pericles moment. The nineteenth century was a time of Greek revival for America, a time when America came to be considered the second Athens. This Greek revival manifested itself in everything from architecture to courses at universities, but perhaps most importantly, in orations at the time. The Contributions Of Pragmatism In The Hellenistic Period It was only after Alexander s conquest of the Greek homeland that classical ideas were put under pressure by a changing political climate and social disruption, eventually causing the expanding Greek world to turn to pragmatism and realism. The ensuing Hellenistic period saw a move towards practical applications of scientific knowledge and art styles reflecting the more complex emotions familiar to Hellenistic Greeks. However, despite changing attitudes, the ingenuity and technical proficiency of Greek individuals was generally undiminished. In mathematics, for example, Euclid (365 300 BCE) wrote 13 groundbreaking books on geometry that continued to be used until the late 19th century and virtually invented classical (Euclidean) geometry as we know it (Mastin, pars. 3). Archimedes, a 3rd century BCE mathematician from Syracuse, made significant practical advances in the field of physics, inventing the compound pulley and the Archimedean screw; he famously stated, give me a fulcrum, and I ll shift the Earth, affirming his faith in applied science (Cary, 349). Early biologists and naturalists of the Hellenistic periodincreasingly sought applications in medicine, which vastly improved medical care (Cary, 351). Lack of discipline inevitably leads to failure Ray Bradbury would agree with this notion as he addresses the consequences of not disciplining your children. Ray Bradbury shows the conflict of Lydia and George, wealthy parents who live in a futuristic society, of not spending enough time with their spoiled and entitled children Wendy and Peter. The conflict between the parents and the children is the harms of technology. The author uses motifs, conflicts, and allusions to suggest that a healthy family unit is parents disciplining their children and spending time with them. Ray Bradbury uses various motifs in the nursery to warn the audience of the impending fate of Lydia and George for not disciplining their children. The nursery consisted of lions so real, so feverishly and startlingly real that you could feel the prickling fur on your hand and the couple s screams after which they realized why those other screams had sounded so familiar. (Bradbury 3, 14). The description of the lions provides the reader with a clear sense of how real the nursery looks; the couple s screams foreshadow the downfall of the couple in the nursery. • 27. Gun Ownership And Gun Related Homicides Abstract Several peer reviewed studies on the subject of gun ownership and gun related homicides were identified and reviewed. During the research phase it was noted that there are opponents and proponents of gun control that present logical sounding arguments, but there have been several research studies conducted that suggest that there is a positive correlational relationship between gun ownership and gun related deaths, particularly gun related homicides. This paper will review many studies that have been conducted on the correlation between gun ownership and availability and the rate of gun related homicides. The majority of the studies focus on comparing the United States to other countries since it has been found that the United States has a disproportionate amount of gun related deaths when compared to other countries of comparable economic and political status. The Relationship between Gun Ownership and Gun Related Homicides The Second Amendment states that A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. The Current Public Education System Better Schooling The current public education system claims to have the student s best interest as a top priority, but in reality, it is actually harming the students. Almost all are short changed the way education is set up now. Boys and girls learn in different ways. They are not different merely because of how they are treated in society, but because of how their brains function. However, when teachers try to teach different genders at the same time, the majority of the time, it just will not work. Badly needed are teachers that understand the differences between, and how to teach, boys and girls. Coed schools hurt more than they help, not allowing children to reach their potential. Single sex schooling is more beneficial to the student s learning. Many claim that by separating young girls and boys, gender stereotypes are being enforced. In 2013, UCLA put together findings of pros and cons to single sex education. Among the downsides, a common fear was that this undermines gender equality. The thought is, because girls and boys are in different schools, this means one can t do what the other can. Generally, this means girls can t be as competitive, or independent, and boys can t be as caring, or artistic. These stereotypes are in the current society, men holding higher paying jobs, and women being mothers or teachers, the more nurturing jobs. But, today s men and women who fall into this common stereotype have grown up to become how they are through coeducation. A new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Ray Bradbury s fictional novel about the horrifying future, he discusses topics that, politically and socially, can relate to Judith Ortiz Cofer s short story; The Paterson Public Library. These two pertain to each other because both Bradbury s and Cofer s characters are afraid of situations that involve books. Though they do compare in many ways, there are also differences between the stories. Cofer says that every trip to the library would be a dangerous one because of the black girl Lorraine. It took me through enemy territory, says Cofer. Bradbury s character Montag was afraid of being seen with books because they were illegal and he was afraid that he would be burned for having them. In a similar manner, Cofer was afraid of being in a situation on her way to get her books. She was afraid that the older bully would hurt her. • 38. The Law Determining Who Is A De Facto Director Essay Assignment QUESTION 1: Critically examine the view that the law determining who is a de facto director is unclear. Introduction Directors may be of three kinds: de jure directors, that is to say, those who have been validly appointed to the office; de facto directors, that is to say, directors who assume to act as directors without having been appointed validly or at all; and shadow directors who are persons with whose directions of instructions the directors of the company are accustomed to act (cite Re Hydrodam). De Jure directors are easy to recognize as they have officially been appointed as a director and there is no uncertainty that they are a director of the company. This is not the case with de facto and shadow directors. Although de facto and shadow directors appear mutually exclusive, there is some overlap and it can be a difficult task proving that a person is a de facto or a shadow director. As these persons may be liable for making negligent decisions in the management of the company it is important that the law is clear in identifying them. The Trinidad and Tobago Companies Act s.85 provides that An act of a director or officer is valid notwithstanding any irregularity in his election or appointment, or any defect in his qualification. It is not necessary for a director to be validly appointed for their actions to be valid therefore making their actions liable for any malfeasance perpetrated by their instruction. U-Boat Tactics in World War II In September of 2012, Germany s last surviving U Boat captain who helped sink dozens of U.S. and British ships has been honoured by the modern military in his homeland seven decades after he was twice decorated by Hitler for bravery. It may seem grim to honor a person who referred to American shooting season as his hobby during the war, but it is important to recognize the contributions of U Boat commanders like Reinhard Hardegen. German submarines had been an engineering vision since 1465, and preliminary German submarines were being manufactured as early as 1850 with Sebastian Wilhelm Valentin Bauer s Brandtaucher design. The Brandtaucher was much improved upon during the Industrial Age, which represented the peak of Kaiserdom in Germany. With its financial coffers relatively full, the Kaiser was able to fund designs such as those by Vogel in 1870 and Howaldt in 1891. However, Gustav Zede designed the Forelle (named after the much beloved German trout fish) and it was the first truly successful German submarine and was launched in 1903. From these early submarines evolved one of the world s most evocative killing machines, the U Boats. Leading up to the development of the U Boat were a series of military escalations, culminating in the start of the Great War. Throughout modern German history, military technologies like the U Boat have been integral to strategic planning. In classical theism, Godis described as having attributes such as goodness, love, grace, compassion, and other personal attributes that are common to human beings as well.
