Informative Essay On Healing Time
We really surprised you with the first set of surprising facts that you didn t know about piercing
in our part one article, and we have finally returned with part two! Piercings are a body mod
trend that is sweeping the nation, and is only becoming more popular. We have finally brought
to you the top eight most surprising facts that everyone should know about piercing! Number
Eight: Healing Time Because of the differences in skin thickness and blood flow in various parts
of the body, the healing time for each type of body location is likely to fluctuate. Because ear
lobes, tongues, and lips have an increased blood flow in comparison to the rest of the body, they
will heal the fastest and be least likely to become infected. Number Seven: The Healing Balance
While it is important to keep a pierced area clean, it is also important not to over clean it. Over
cleaning can result in intense drying out of the wound (which requires moisture to heal), improper
healing or prolonged healing, and increased risk of infection. The professionals recommend a light
cleaning about twice a day, and to avoid harsh chemicals such as iodine. Number Six: Go Ointment
Free It is often assumed that applying antibiotic ointment to a piercing would aid its healing
process, as it would to a cut. However, these healing ointments can actually... Show more content on

The action of piercing is not federally regulated, and only regulated on a state level in a handful
of areas. Tattoo artists need a license to open up shop, but literally anyone could start up a
piercing parlor. Therefore, it is highly important to do your research on a parlor and its
sterilization procedures before making a potentially disastrous decision. One of the best ways to
assure your medical safety is to ask for a walk through of the location s sterilization procedures and
equipment storage; if they refuse, it s best to find another

Marxism In The Grapes Of Wrath
The Grapes of Wrath tells the bitter story of the Joad family as it struggles to survive and to
maintain its dignity in the middle of the Great Depression. But it is also the story of the social
class of people like the Joads, tenant farmers who have lost their land and decide to move to
California in hope of finding a better life. John Steinbeckwrote The Grapes of Wrath, in 1939, amid
the Great Depression, in response to the enduring he saw of individuals with disadvantages. He
wrote regarding Oklahomans that were incapable to continue farming since of the disastrous
climate conditions. Particularly, he wrote about the Joad family having to emigrate to California.
Steinbeck composed the novel from a Marxist point of view. Steinbeck is supporting Marxist
thoughts by delineating the distinction of individuals included in capitalism, as the owners take
advantage of the helpless.
In the Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, Steinbeck uses Marxist beliefs to plot the long battle
experienced by the Joad family. The Joads encounters illustrate that the Bourgeoise mishandle their
control in order to control the Proletariats, estranging and abusing their ... Show more content on

The Chart Above Displays The Known Ancestors Of John...
The chart above displays the known ancestors of John Bigony Rex. The Bigony, Rex, Knauss
and Tibben lines reaches the furthest back in time to European births in the 1600 s. The circles
represent roots of the American dream, when men and women alike risked all to journey across
an ocean to a distant land called America. It was a time of kings, war and persecution. Our brave
forefathers were farmers, blacksmiths, fishermen and laborers. Regardless of their humble start,
they became the building blocks for what will become a shining beacon of hope that transformed
our world. John Bigony Rex grew up with the fading grandchildren of a group of Revolutionary

Henry Tibben represented hundreds of farmers growing up along the Dutch and German border
in independent Bentheim county. He firmly believed that hard work, religious freedom and the
spirit of man could create a superior world for all people. To that aim, he took full advantage of
his schooling, mastering not only reading, but writing and accounting. Optimism filled his soul
like the fresh paintings hanging in the museums. He expected the future will harbor better things
than just quiet farming. In that spirit, he never accepted the limits of digging peat or milking
cows, or practicing a religion he did not profess to. His exploring mind always asked questions,
often to the annoyance of his mentors, building a dream for himself and his descendants that only
America could foster. A test of Henry s grit came during the 1670 s when a dark spirit spread
across Holland. French King Louis sent legions of horses, cannons and nights across the Rhine
River into the flat, peat fields of the Dutch frontier. Other Catholic allies soon joined in the rampage,
sending Protestants into a panic. Rape, pillaging and infernos followed their movement north
toward the Tibben farm; the unprepared Dutch armies retreated or surrendered. His Dutch
neighbors called 1672 the The Year of Disaster. The Tibbens worshiped in a church that many
Catholic leaders despised, The Dutch Reform Church. The Tibben farm resided along the Dutch and

Tropidoderus Kids Essay
Tropidoderus childrenii, more commonly known as Children s stick insect belongs in Kingdom
Animalia. As a member of Animalia, this specie is multicellular eukaryote like other members of
the kingdom. It reproduces sexually between male and female, creating unique individuals, and it is
a heterotroph that relies on plants for its survival.
Children s stick insect can be classified farther into Class Insecta in Phylum Arthropod. Like the
other species of insects, children s stick insect also has the characteristics that all insects of
Arthropoda share. First, it has something called exoskeleton which is external skeleton that helps
arthropods to protect from hazards as well as helping them to support themselves. Second,
arthropods have bodies divided into segments, but insects can be distinguished from other
arthropods because they have bodies divided into 3 major regions: the head with antennae,
thorax, and abdomen. Third, arthropods have jointed legs which are flexible and soft, allowing
them to move even with rigid and hard bodies. This allows Tropidoderus childrenii to crawl with
its 6 legs, as well as using their wings to fly. Last, arthropods have open circulatory system, which
is different from closed circulatory system found in humans. In open circulatory system, blood

These insects can reproduce sexually by males fertilizing females eggs (about 1500 per time)
through mating. However, the females of some Phasmatodea can also reproduce asexually through
a process, parthenogenesis, which does not require male fertilization, this results all the offspring of
asexual reproduction to be female. Therefore, females are more common than males in this order. In
addition, Tropidoderus childrenii can reproduce all around the year due to the constant warm

The Federal Reserve System
The Federal Reserve is a federal system enacted to help balance the monetary system of America.
Overall, the system is meant to encourage economic growth. However, there are some flaws of the
system that result in economic chaos, such as stealing and inflation. It s vital to understand the
biblical principles that are overstepped by the Federal Reserve to determine if it is a system that
aids Christian practices. Thus, one can observe the important role that the system plays, but also the
problems that its flaws can create by overstepping Christian principles.
The Federal Reserve system was created to help maintain a balance for the monetary system in
America. Not only does it help regulate the flow of currency, but it also oversees banks and
therefore influences Americans on a personal level with their finances. Evidently, the system is
deeply webbed into the federal system and everyday American life that it is now the system that is

The Main Problem Of Drinking Alcohol
The main problem of drinking alcohol is that it causes intemperance. Intemperance is having an
excessive amount of something, instead of having it in moderation. The document states that
intemperance is an issue because it causes men to become irreclaimable in their habits, without
suspicion of danger (Major problems in the early republic). It states that men that drink an
excessive amount of alcohol aren t aware of their habits, and that some of their habits may cause
danger without them realizing it. The document describes alcohol as being a crime, and says that
drinking an excessive amount of alcohol causes theft and falsehood. This is not the main issue
though, the main problem is intemperance. Intemperance causes temptation, and when alcohol is
first consumed it usually starts out as prudent use, and later becomes addicting, and turns into a
negligent habit. Once intemperance takes place relationships can be affected, and even ruined, as
well as the society. Alcohol can corrupt the society in many different ways. It can cause poverty,
and suffering, as well as take money away from supporting things that are important like schools,
colleges, and the government. Instead of supporting schools, and colleges a huge portion of the
entire capital of the nation is mortgaged for the support of drunkards (Major problems in the early
Republic). Instead of using money to support things that will affect everyone positively, money is
being used to take care of people that

Archduke Franz Ferdinand s Role In World War 1
The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was a major provoking factor for World War 1.
The heir to the Austro Hungarian Empire, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was under fire for the
decision to annex the Balkans. This decision infuriated Serbian nationals there who believed they
should be allowed to join Serbia who was newly independent; the decision also strengthened Serbian
nationalist groups. Franz Ferdinand was in Sarajevoto inspect his troops there on the day he was
assassinated. The Black Hand Gang was responsible for the death of the Archduke and his wife.

More specifically, the role of women in society changed. While men were away at war, women
often took over business operations. In fact, by 1918, nearly three million women were
employed in the textile, food, and war industries. Many restrictions on women s participation in
these industries were torn down during World War 1. Women slowly started gaining more social
responsibilities. They started working as streetcar conductors and radio operators; they also
worked in logging camps and steel mills. During the war, they not only had to support their
households, but also the war effort. After the war, their labor was far from over. It was now
more socially acceptable to continue working. In addition, many men died in the war and
women had to work single handedly to support their family. The public view of war changed after
World War 1. Before the war, the public had seen war as it was in the 1800s with large armies
attacking each other in open fields in battles that rarely lasted for more than a day. However, new
technology and tactics made warfare much more gruesome. One tactic became known as trench
warfare. When the British released a realistic film about the Battle of the Somme, a battle fought
by Britain and France against Germany, the public was shocked. Soldiers no longer participated
in distinct battles; they could be attacked at any time of day. This constant state of fear had
obvious psychological effects. The public became disillusioned about war due to the large body
counts as well. Pacifism became more popular as a result. The growth of independence movements
was another important effect of the war. In territories controlled by Russia and England in
particular, independence movements became common. The colonies had been largely neglected
over the four years the countries were at war, and they finally saw their opportunity to rise up.
During the war, the colonies had quietly become less reliant on

Theme Of Friendship In The Outsiders
A Story About Friendship, Courage, and Empathy The functions of intellect are insufficient and
useless if you are without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy, says a quote by
Dean Koontz. Throughout S.E. Hinton s book The Outsiders, there are many themes that she
conveys in the book as she narrates the experiences of a greaser named Ponyboy who is a
member of the Social group (Socs). Ponyboy meets many people and witnesses many difficult
situations throughout the book. This inspirational book teaches the reader crucial lessons that
are very important for everyone, even if their lives are not anything like Ponyboy s. Three
important themes in the book include friendship, courage and empathy. Friendship is mandatory
to be able to trust and rely on one another. Hinton writes about troubles that Ponyboy goes
through and how his friends have a great impact on these experiences. For example, Johnny
killed Bob who was a member of the Socs, because he saw that Bob along with other Socs were
trying to drown Ponyboy. He knew that he d be in trouble, and he could have just left then and
there. Instead, he killed Bob because they were hurting Ponyboy. Another situation where the
author shows the theme of friendship is when Ponyboy got jumped and his whole gang came to
help him. They were always ready to help a member of their group. Also, the situation when the
church was on fire and Dally went to try and save Johnny, shows friendship as well. In chapter 6,
Jerry, who Ponyboy thinks is one of the school s teachers, says, We think the towheaded kid is
going to be all right. He burned one arm pretty badly, though, trying to drag the other kid out of
the window, (pg. 95). This tells us that Dally, who at first wouldn t help the children in the
church, helped Johnny get out because he was his friend and he cared about him. This shows
how Dally demonstrates his friendship. Courage is crucial to be able to overcome obstacles and
help others. Courage is a big theme in The Outsiders. For example, Ponyboy showed a lot of
courage when he decided to fight in the rumble. He wasn t in good shape as he had lost weight
and was very tense. However, he fought in the rumble regardless to show his gang that he

The Family Medical Leave Act The Family Medical Leave Act was passed in 1993 and updated in

unpaid leave. The provision of the law would allow employees who have worked for one year and
have worked at least 1,250 hours to use the unpaid leavefor family or medical reasons (DeCenzo

a conservative indicator, according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , given that the assets

Liquidity ratio = Cash + accounts receivable + marketable securities divided by Current liabilities

To Kill A Mockingbird Book Vs Movie Essay
When a novel is turned into a movie, the movie director usually to changes or cuts certain scenes.
The To kill a Mockingbird movie wasn t able to elaborate on certain characters that Harper Lee
wrote about. Why did the movie extract what scenes they did? The book is revolved around the
children Scout, Jem, and Dill to a certain extent. The movie focused on big name actor actor
Gregory Peckwho played Atticus. In order to make more money, the movie conveyed Atticus as
the focal point . Because of this, Scout had few lines. The beginning of the book starts out kind
of slow and allows the reader to get accustomed to each character. The movie skips through most
of that in order to hook the viewers in. For example, the movie shows Scout rolling in the tire
without even telling the backstory of the Radley s and telling you who Boo is. The movie cut
the scenes with the fire at Miss. Maudie s house, and the incident with Ms. Dubose and Jem. The
movie didn t really mention Boo as much as I was expecting it to. These changes were most
likely made because the director chose to have the movie revolve around the trial. Atticus says it is
a sin to kill a mockingbirdat the diner table. The books says this after the children receive airsoft
rifles. The children never receive airsoft rifles in the movie. Therefore, the director was forced to

NAPOLEON S INFLUENCE ON MODERN WESTERN MILITARY ARMIES

Throughout history, military leaders have immortalized their legacies by vanquishing their enemies
in the battlefield against overwhelming odds. Soldiers and historians have revered their
accomplishments by studying their mastery in the art of warfare with the hopes mimicking their
accomplishments. Of them all, Napoleon Bonaparte is considered the best military leader in the
history of the Western World and has been the most influential with the development of modern day
Western armies. According to Knox, military revolutions are changes in the nature and purpose of
war itself. 1 Napoleon s military tactics and strategy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the control of constantly larger and more widely dispersed forces. 5 According to Lynn, by
subdividing his army into corps, Napoleon enhanced command and control. It improved logistics,
since several corps operating along separate lines of advance could supply themselves more easily
than could a single large army operating along a single route. 6 In addition to the forming of corps
and divisions, Napoleon created brigade and army levels of commands. This unique military
organizational structure allowed him to effectively move his large armies and outmaneuver his
enemies.
Like the French, the U.S. Army s military organizational structure consists of armies, corps,
divisions, brigades, and battalions. The only exception is the regional commands that it uses. Each
command level organization consists of a robust staff that assists commanders with developing
plans and executing orders. This organizational structure provides an efficient method of
commanding and controlling from the lowest to the highest level of commands.
The transformation of the French military organizational structure provided better command and
control for large armies. However, its use of combined arms allowed the French to annihilate their
enemies in the battlefield. The French had pioneered the use of combat division, combining

HIV Testing
Fatality, death, or stigma is just a few words that come to mind when people think of HIV. HIV
testing should be mandatory in our society. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a serious,
incurable disease that attacks the immune system. HIV is spread through innumerable ways, such
as blood, breast milk, having unprotected intercourse, or sharing needles. If people do not get
treated for HIV, over time the disease progresses until the immune systemis too inadequate to
defend against life threatening infections and cancers. Once this starts to happen, the person now
has AIDS, which is the last and the worst state of the HIV infection. According to AIDS.gov, more

Some people may feel that getting tested for HIV is a violation of their privacy and rights.
According to, HIV/AIDS Tests (www.hrw.org) human rights are inextricably linked to the spread
and impact of HIV on individuals and communities around the world. Some people are more
vulnerable to contracting HIV because they are unable to realize their civil, political, and social
rights. For instance, individuals who are denied the right to freedom of association and access to
information can be prohibited from important issues, such as HIV, and taking preventative
measures to protect themselves from the fatal HIV virus. Additionally, the rights of infected HIV
people are also violated because of their HIV status, making them suffer not only from the virus
but from the loss of their rights. Even though getting tested for HIV may violate individual s
rights, not knowing about the virus can be very deadly and people s lives are far more important
than a person possibly feeling discrimination. It is impossible to stop the spread of the HIV
infection if people are unaware they have it. These infected people can unintentionally infect their
loved ones, including children, therefore it is safer to get tested for

Bed Bath And Beyond Essay
During the time of the case Bed Bath Beyond (BBBY) was on top of the competition with never
missing earnings estimates and constant store expansions. Both their top line and bottom line
growth was impressive, especially when compared to competitors. Their expansions were being
financed with a large percentage of cash and a small percentage of debt. The debt they did incur
was payed off rather quickly leading to high cash accounts in their books. However, this created a
problem for BBBY, as many analysts and investors considered the pile of cash to be rather
unproductive. Analyst stated that the growing cash position was deteriorating the firms return on

Boston from 1850 to 1900 Essay

Boston from 1850 1900 There was no time in Boston that was most emphasized, than the 1850 s to

It was the same with the omnibus that was created in 1826, because it moved slowly and didn t
hold many people. The steam railroad was another form of transportation that was introduced in
1835 and it was a better form of transportation because it moved quicker and could hold many
more passengers, but it was also expensive and didn t always take the people to where they wanted
to go because it didn t stop very often, and only went one route.
There were land changes that occurred during the second half of the 19th century such as the South
End and the Back Bay. The South End was almost entirely taken up by houses in 1880 and then
went to the Back Bay that was almost completely taken up by houses in 1900. Only the rich could
afford to live on these pieces of land, because they were so expensive. Street railways were created
and they were the most aggressive expansion in the 19th century. From the 1880 s to the 1890 s
street railways took up at least six miles from City Hall in Boston. The service of the first railway
began in 1852. The first street railway in Boston would go between Harvard Square, Cambridge,

Odysseus Gaining Wisdom In Homer s Odyssey

Bittersweet Wisdom Confucius once said, By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by
reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which
is the bitterest. Confucius explains three ways to acquire wisdom : by reflection, imitation, and
experience. This quote can be connected to Homer s, The Odyssey, where Odysseus uses his
experience to gain wisdom. In the beginning of The Odyssey, Odysseus, a champion and king, is
called to adventure. Odysseus must embark on a new journey in order to return to Ithaca and retake
his throne. During his travels, he faces many obstacles that prolong his homecoming but in return
he gains permanent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Odysseus does not tell his men many things and he keeps those secrets to himself. In one
example of the Odyssey, Odysseus is given a gift from the god of the winds, Aiolos. The gift, a
bag of winds, takes all the stormy winds and conceals them inside a cowskin bag. Odysseus
crew, curious about what is in the bag, decides to open the bag and check what is inside.
Thinking that there is gold and silver inside, they greedily open it emanating a windy gale.
Odysseus describes the opening of the bag saying, A scandalous motion, but it was passed. They
opened the bag, the winds leaped out; at once a gale caught them, and carried them off to sea
tearing their hair as they left their native land behind. (Homer 113). A very scandalous motion
indeed for the island of Ithaca was visible to Odysseus and his me. Odysseus is punished for his
poor leadership. He does not tell his crew that there are the stormy winds inside the bag, leaving
his crew inquisitive. Odysseus also, fell into a deep sleep... (Homer 112) which gives the crew
freedom because there is no supervision. This flaw gave Odysseus the wisdom of responsibility.
Odysseus acts as the leader and tells his men what to do. Unfortunately, Odysseus s men still
disobey him on Thrinacia. The men take all of Helios cattle and they feast on them although
Odysseus had already warned the men. Odysseus, having learned from poor leadership, said, My
friends, we have food and drink in the ship, so we must keep our hands off these cattle or we
may suffer for it. (Homer 144). Odysseus learns but his crew does not gain any wisdom.
Odysseus tries to take leadership by warning his crew but they were all too greedy. Under the
circumstances, Helios called upon Zeus and terror struck upon Odysseus men leaving only
Odysseus alive. Odysseus gains the wisdom of responsibility after learning from his flaw of poor

The Theme Of Restorative Justice In The Kite Runner
Restorative justice, a key factor in today s society that allows us to function in a orderly way can
be portrayed in many ways such as the loyalty towards one friend or the redemption from despair
and pain.In the story The Kite Runner restorative justice is the leading factor in the role of the main
character Amir and is quest of redemption. Restorative Justiceitself can only be achieved through
hard work along with the willingness to change and because of this I feel as though the movie (The
Kite Runner) had less of an impact showing the struggle of redeeming oneself unlike the actual
book. This being said having the opportunity to watch the film and read the book both greatly
impacted how I now view restorative justice. It made the theme of redemption being something you
only achieve with hard work and willingness to change oneself clear to me as the reader.
Now, likewise to what I said earlier watching the movie and reading the book did in fact make
the theme clear to me. The movie, to a certain extent showed how redeeming oneself requires
hard work and effort. This can be shown in the scene where Amir literally had to fight in order to
take Sohrab from Asself. In addition this can be read in the book when Amir says My memory of
the fight with Assef is amazingly vivid in stretches... .In like manner, both adaptations of the story
showed how change is necessary for redemption such as how Amir told Soraya of his wrong doing
that happened so many years ago. This

Neptune, The Ice Planet
Neptune:the ice planet
When was Neptune discovered? Neptune was the very first planet to be discovered by using math!
(mathematics). After the discovery of Uranus in 1781, astronomers noticed that the planet was
being pulled a little bit out of its normal orbit. John Couch Adams of Britain and Urbain Jean
Joseph Leverrier of France, used math to figure out that the gravity from another planet beyond
Uranus was affecting the orbit of Uranus. They figured out not only where the planet was, but also
how much mass it had. A young astronomer, Johann Gottfried Galle, decided to search for the
predicted planet and observed Neptune for the first time in 1846. http://coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu

corresponds to this description. Written in free verse, the poem tells about chocolate, but it has a

personification, and metaphors to compare chocolate to love. Stanza five demonstrates an
evident relation of chocolate to Rita s lover, claiming, For a taste of you/any woman would

man, whom Dove loves. Indicating that any woman could crumble to ruin in order to be with

The Principals Of Operant Conditioning
The principals of operant conditioning, teaches how having certain coping techniques can
reward certain undesirable behaviors. Conditioning human behavior has been studied for many
years, Psychologists Edward Thorndike and B.F. Skinner, have dedicated the majority of their
lives to the study. Thorndike s theory Law of effect. Thorndike suggests that certain stimuli and
response become connected or dissociated from each other. His experiment worked by placing
a cat in a box, then observing its behavior as it tried to escape and obtain the food on the other
side. He studied several cats and plotted the time it took for them to escape from the puzzle box.
The challenge to get out of the box remained the same, but the amount of time to get out of the
box decreased, and while the animal may have not realized what it was doing, but knew what he
had to do to receive the food. He concluded that animals learn from reward and punishment or trial
and error. The theory of B.F. Skinner is based upon the idea that learning is about change in
behavior. Operant conditioningis learning by consequence. To put it simply, an action which he
rewarded is likely to be repeated along with an action that is punished is less likely to be
repeated. B.F. Skinner introduced a new term into the law of effect known as reinforcement.
Behavior that is reinforced tends to be repeated while behavior which is no reinforced tends to

and electrons in the Mega electron Volt range. In this model, carrier removal rate of the base layer
and damage coefficient of minority carrier diffusion length in each sub cell are considered as
radiation degradation parameters. In addition, this paper will present the status of high radiation

Persuasive Essay On Fast Food
As time has passed, Americans have become downright lazy and inconsiderate when it comes to
preparing their meals. They substitute fresh, nutritional, balanced meals for a big mac on their
way to work. Since Americans have become so lazy, the emphasis is on quick service rather
than the quality of the food. Open 24/7! It takes two hands to hold a whopper! There s fast food,
then there s KFC! Your way, right away! As Americans continue to fill their bodies with fatty,
processed, fake food, people around the world starve, and their access to clean drinking water is
limited. So how is America to help? Now, when I state this, know it is not for my own gain. I am
not starving, malnourished, nor am I grossly obese. This is simply a gain for the world, so that
we may help those in need. In order for fast food chains to shut down, we would need to get rid
of the obese people. How do we do this in a civil manner? Feed them to the malnourished. Now I
know what you re thinking what is considered obese? Some people work out excessively, and a
healthy 400 pound male that can lift that weight has a higher BMI because of the muscle. I
mean to say the large ones, made entirely out of excess fat, the meat ready to slide off their bones
the way it slides off of Colonel Sander s chicken. By feeding these overweight people to the
malnourished, we not only will solve world hunger, but this will solve overpopulation. People
over the BMI of 30 + will be put to death, and for a reasonable, redeeming cause. Those who are
18 will receive the meat of the generous donors. Those in the healthy range will continue to eat
the way they do, while being monitored by a doctor, of course, so we can watch their eligibility
for being overweight. Those who are overweight put on a watch list. The lower the BMI on the
overweight side, the less you are to be harassed by the government. If you re teeter tottering on
the obese line, you are put in a hospital, so that as soon as you can be put to slaughter, it s done.
Not only will this solve world hunger and overpopulation, but America won t need volunteers to go
over to these underdeveloped, third world countries, which will spare our time and supplies. Why
would we waste our precious

This is because of their global manufacturing facilities and the duplicity of the manual data entry
processes. When the raw material is received, at the loading dock, the material is manually
compared to shipping documents that a supervisor has against a schedule of incoming orders. Once
comparisons have been finished, the receiving team will unload the trucks and move the raw
material into the material holding area located on the factory floor. At the end of each day, the
supervisor gives the receiving logs raw materials unloaded and the associated truckers shipping
documents to an inventory clerk. The inventory clerk takes all of the related information from the
raw materials receipts and enters them into the inventory system. The data includes the type of
material received, the vendor the material was purchased from, and the quantity of material. The
raw material located on the factory floor is used during the various manufacturing operations. The
amount of raw material that gets used during the day is manually written on the raw material usage

My Career Path For My Life
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was eight years old. I noticed that the first
three letters of Arthritis spell art . To me, art is the creative outlet that has made me the person I
am today. My artistic abilities have helped me choose my career path in film that I want to
peruse for the rest of my life. I have used my real life obstacles, career goals, accomplishments
and personal background to write lyrics, scripts and create art. I am an artist and I know that
with the talents I have, will help me accomplish anything I set my mind to. I am the second
oldest of four children and the second person in my family to go to college. Neither of my
parents had the opportunity to college, so I had to work hard in school to get into a four year
university. There is a lot of pressure on me to be a good role model and set a good example for
my younger siblings. I treasure my education due to the fact my parents were not able to have
one. Due to my parent s education level, my dad is the only one who was able to find a job to
provide for a family of six. He barely makes enough to maintain my family with the daily
necessities. My family also has to put my medical expenses first over my education expenses.
My parents do not have any left over money to help me pay my cell phone, school supplies,
textbooks, or housing. Since, I am the second person going to college from my family and I will
have to fund my education on my own just as my older brother did. My financial

Debating Gender Inequality In The United States
Summary The article discussed the debate between governor Romney and President Obama. The
article brought out how both candidates focused on womens labor as a family issue. The sociology
aspect of gender discrimination and workplace inequality is emphasized as well. The author states
at the latter part of the article that: both candidates need to be better informed on the complex
factors that produce workplace inequality (Debating GenderWorkplace Inequality).
Overview
One of the unsettled issues when it comes to gender workplace inequality has to do with education.
Women are earning slightly more degrees, yet they must accelerate their educational achievements
substantially in order to earn the same pay. Women face limits in education... Show more content

This transformation has diversified careers, family life, and gender roles (Work and Family in
the 21st Century). Women find it challenging to manage arduous jobs and a busy family life.
The conflict between work and family has become a social problem. The combination of roles
have created problems as these roles are assumed to be different based on gender. Work and
family conflicts has become a social problem. Certain views treat work and family as in
competition for a persons time, energy, and attention (Work and Family in the 21st Century).
The article also discussed how employers are actively engaged in putting forth the effort to
beware of employee s work and family concerns. It also talked about how employer s are also
looking into their policies to aide in addressing these issues. These two articles relate well to the
main article because it reverts back to the idea about how when it comes to work for women the
viewpoint gets shifted back to family responsibilities and how a woman has to balance between her
responsibilities to her job and her family, and this continues to have a bearing on workplace

Christmas, 2009 Essay
Since I was a child I have always been very excited and waiting patiently for Christmas to arrive
because I always thought on Christmas as an occasion when the family gets together. And this past
year (2009) was not different from the others; I was very excited waiting for Christmas. Especially,
because I was going to spend this holiday in Mexico with my grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins,
but all that emotion did not take me to a Christmasfull of joy as the past years. Christmas was very
important to me because it was Camila s (my daughter) first time in Mexico, but after this holiday,
the way I appreciated and treated my familychanged. After Christmas 2009, I learned to value my
mom and dad; I also learned to understand how important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When I saw my brothers and mom boarding the plane, it felt to me as if a piece of my heart was
leaving with them, in the same plane. However, in the midst of this feeling, there was also some
comprehension because I knew that there was no other option to prevent this separation. I saw
the three of them walking heading to the plane with destination to Colorado; far, very far away
from me and the rest of my family. During their walk to the plane, each one of those steps they
gave were like laughs of joy that were leaving out with the rhythm of their steps. So, step after
step were just as less and less joy, until I could not see my mom and brothers anymore and that was
when I let my sadness came out accompanied with tears. That moment completely changed the
emotion with which I expected Christmas. It was as if the girl who waited impatiently for
Christmas had disappeared along with the laughter of joy that disappeared following the rhythm of
the footsteps of my mom and brothers walking to board the plane.
Christmas evening! Another lesson that this holiday taught me was to value more my mom and
my dad because it was so hard to feel how life is without my parents. I say this because in
Christmas day I decided to stay with my grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins from my mom s side,
but my dad told me that he was going to spend this holiday with his mom and the rest of his
family. When I heard those words coming out of his mouth was like if his words

The Paradoxes Of Abrahamic Religions
In the beginning, God said let there be Abrahamic religions. And it was so. Ancient Israelites carried
many traditions molded by the conditions in which they found themselves. Monotheism was a very
different ideology at this time in world history and lead to cultural clashes between the Israelites
and other regional powers. Their soteriology and religious practices eventually became the
foundations on which modern Christianitystands. However, time causes great change in many
things and Christianity is no exception. With these theological and fundamental changes arose
a number of paradoxes. It is easy to just accept the discourse of a religion, but when one or a
group of people start to truly analyze the principles of a faith, many times conflicts arise in truly
knowing what cannot be know. What is life like after ones death. Metaphysical idea with really
not evidence to support them. It is only with the insights and work of theologians and writers like
Dionysus, Origen, Augustine and Dante that these paradoxes were further analyzed and resolved.
In an ancient world embedded in polytheism, the views of the ancient Israelites was arguably a
radical one for the time. This radicalism in a modern view seems practical and completely normal,
yet during the time of the ancient Jewish people this factor brought with it a great deal of hardship.
The cosmos of the semitic world world was that of heaven above, the earth in the middle, and the
netherworld below (McDannel 1). The

Educational Achievement In Pima County
Educational attainment within Pima County is referencing the highest level of schooling, on
average, that the population in the county achieves.
In the most general form, the data will include people who are 25+ years old, whether they do or
do not have a high school diploma, and who out of this age group went on to obtain a higher
degree. As seen in Figure 5, close to 49% of people, aged 25 and older, in Pima County received a
high school diploma and 38% of this population obtained a higher degree. To be more specific,
when looking at the percentages of male versus female education attainment they do not vary by
much. When referencing Figure 6, it can be seen that males had a greater percentage than females

The first category of school that is provided are many district schools. These schools are public and
include schools for a range of ages. Some of the districts in this category are Ajo Unified (PK 12th
grade), Marana Unified (KG 6th), and Sunnyside Unified (KG 12th). The next category of schools
provided are charter schools. These schools are tuition free state funded public schools, made by
legislation in 1994, that contract with the State Board of Education and the State Board for Charter
Schools (Arizona Department of Education, 2016). Some charter schools in Pima County include
La Paloma Academy (KG 8th), Lifelong Learning Academy (KG 8th), and Nosotros Academy (KG
12th). Next, there is the private school option which is a school that is supported by the care taker
of the child through tuition. Some private schools include Casas Christian School (KG 8th), Desert
Christian High School (9th 12th), and Faith Community Academy (PK 6th). Most of the private
schools in the Pima County are Christian faith based schools. Also, there is the fourth category,
homeschooling. To have the ability to homeschool a child, there are many laws and requirements
that need to be followed. In general, homeschooling is nonpublic school ran by the parent, guardian,
a person in custody of the child, or by instruction from one of these three (Pima County School
Superintendent, 2014a). An Affidavit of Intent that articulates the child is being homeschooled
must be filed with the county school superintendent and have the child s name, birth certificate,
address that it will take place, etc. (Pima County School Superintendent, 2014a). Along with these
things, the parents doing the homeschooling are accountable for their curriculum but must teach the
child the subjects of math, reading, grammar, science, and social studies (Pima County School
Superintendent, 2014a). As for the diplomas and certificates,

Status Symbols
Social class is best described as a large group of people close to one another in property, power,
and prestige. (227) These three things effect our lives more than anyone gives them credit for.
They also mainly go hand in hand with one another. Property is exactly what you think it is. It is
the house you own, the land you have but it is also the jewelry you have, your bank accounts.
When you add up the value of someones propter and subtract their debts you are left with what is
called wealth. (227) With that being said sometimes wealth and income are confused, wealth is
the value of the things you own while income is your flow of money, and they can differ greatly at
times. A good example used by our sociology book is that a famed has all of his land and animals
yet has a dry season and cannot sell his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prestige is the respect or regard someone or something has. Jobs have prestige from more pay,
they required more education, involved more abstract thought, and offer greater independence.
The people who hold jobs with higher prestige also gain prestige. These rankings are constant not
only in America but across the globe. Status symbols are things that people buy to outwardly
show how much money they have to gain them prestige with others. Status symbols are not only
things you can wear, it can be the place you gained your education. How everyone prefers name
brand foods over say great value brand is a form of status symbolism. It is important to try and
fully understand the inter workings of social class in the U.S. because we are confined to social
classes. A good comprehensive understanding of the class system is to understand why people do
certain things, what situations they are faced with, and the opportunities they have. These social
classes not only affect our wealth it effects our health, family lives, education and even religion.
This social stratification is what has led to the break down into

Childhood Obesity Analysis
Parents Child Caretakers Obesity in America is literally a growing problem, affecting every age
group. Children are the most venerable group because they have no control over where they
have dinner or how often they have fast food. Parents and guardians make decisions about food
and are responsible for the health of children. Childhood obesity has more than doubled in the
last twenty years. This is concerning because Type Two diabetes is a horrible, crippling disease
that is affecting children and teens dramatically whereas the disease was primarily seen in adults.
Children are said to have a shorter life span than their parents for the first time ever. In the United
States sixty six percent of adults are overweight and one in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, childhood obesity effects more than
9 million children and teenagers between the ages of 6 19 in the United States with another 8
million considered at risk of becoming obese. These staggering figures have cause groups to form
all across the country and organize their efforts to prevent this disease. One such organization is the
Leadership for Healthy Communities, which is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation (RWJF). The RWJF holds summits nationwide events calling on policy leaders
nationwide to advance healthy eating and active living options in their communities. According to
the RWJF, a special emphasis has been placed on collaborative state and community policy
approaches that address childhood obesity among vulnerable populations disproportionately
affected by the epidemic. The RWJF also has a panel, which consists of its chairmen, doctors,
lawyers, but more importantly politicians on the state and federal level who are taking childhood
obesity head on and working with organizations like the RWJF to promote healthy, cost effective
change in communities nationwide. Arkansas, as well as many other states, has adopted legislation
preventing the sale of fatty foods within its public schools. Arkansas Act 1220 was adopted and
immediately implemented in 2003, creating the state s first Child Health Advisory Committee,

Singer s Treatise on a Changing World
Singer s Treatise on A Changing World Introduction For all of human history, wealth has
governed the balance of man s power just as the absence of wealth has dictated individual and
collective suffering. The central premise of the landmark 1971 piece by Peter Singer is that this
sharp contrast in the human experience is implicated by consider moral obligation. Singer s piece
offers an important statement of global responsibility on the part of the world s wealthiest citizens,
calling for action to end the economic suffering of others. Goal On its surface, the primary goal of
the Singer article appears to be to create a push for more action on the part of the world s wealthy
elite to come to the aid of those enduring the Bangladeshi refugee crisis. However, its implications
carry far greater importance even than resolving a single humanitarian crisis. Instead, Singer s goal
is to invoke a shift in perspective on the part of those nations in the industrialized world with the
means to alleviate human misery not just in the Indian Bangladeshi crisis but in the face of all
future humanitarian crises. Argument Singer makes the argument that many western nations,
without great pain or deprivation to themselves, have the economic capacity to save the lives of the
9 million Bengal refugees suffering displacement and starvation. Because they have this capacity,
Singer contents, they also have the moral obligation to act on said capacity. Singer notes that many

Native American Mascot Controversy
Native American mascot controversy Chiefs, Braves, Redskins, and more have been the mascots
for schools, and sports teams for over 60 years. Countless universities throughout the U.S withhold
Native American logos, whom many take offense to, while others believe it s an honor. Current
Events magazine (Doc 1), Oregonlive.com article (Doc 5), and Dan Snyder (video) all come to a
consensus that Native American mascots represent and glorify rather than slur and insult. With
this, The best approach to this situation is to allow the sports teams and schools to choose their
mascots for themselves. Schools, team members, fans, and more should have the choice to keep
their symbol. Currently, more than 2,500 schools around the country use Native... Show more

disrespectful or derogatory towards the targeted group of individuals, schools should be able to
choose any symbol they d like. In the big picture, Current Events magazine, Oregonlive.com, and
Dan Snyder s video all contribute to defending the continued use of Native like mascots. With the
approval of a group of Native Americans; Chiefs, Redskins, Braves, and more, can not only thrive,

  • 2. Informative Essay On Healing Time We really surprised you with the first set of surprising facts that you didn t know about piercing in our part one article, and we have finally returned with part two! Piercings are a body mod trend that is sweeping the nation, and is only becoming more popular. We have finally brought to you the top eight most surprising facts that everyone should know about piercing! Number Eight: Healing Time Because of the differences in skin thickness and blood flow in various parts of the body, the healing time for each type of body location is likely to fluctuate. Because ear lobes, tongues, and lips have an increased blood flow in comparison to the rest of the body, they will heal the fastest and be least likely to become infected. Number Seven: The Healing Balance While it is important to keep a pierced area clean, it is also important not to over clean it. Over cleaning can result in intense drying out of the wound (which requires moisture to heal), improper healing or prolonged healing, and increased risk of infection. The professionals recommend a light cleaning about twice a day, and to avoid harsh chemicals such as iodine. Number Six: Go Ointment Free It is often assumed that applying antibiotic ointment to a piercing would aid its healing process, as it would to a cut. However, these healing ointments can actually... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The action of piercing is not federally regulated, and only regulated on a state level in a handful of areas. Tattoo artists need a license to open up shop, but literally anyone could start up a piercing parlor. Therefore, it is highly important to do your research on a parlor and its sterilization procedures before making a potentially disastrous decision. One of the best ways to assure your medical safety is to ask for a walk through of the location s sterilization procedures and equipment storage; if they refuse, it s best to find another ... • 3. Marxism In The Grapes Of Wrath The Grapes of Wrath tells the bitter story of the Joad family as it struggles to survive and to maintain its dignity in the middle of the Great Depression. But it is also the story of the social class of people like the Joads, tenant farmers who have lost their land and decide to move to California in hope of finding a better life. John Steinbeckwrote The Grapes of Wrath, in 1939, amid the Great Depression, in response to the enduring he saw of individuals with disadvantages. He wrote regarding Oklahomans that were incapable to continue farming since of the disastrous climate conditions. Particularly, he wrote about the Joad family having to emigrate to California. Steinbeck composed the novel from a Marxist point of view. Steinbeck is supporting Marxist thoughts by delineating the distinction of individuals included in capitalism, as the owners take advantage of the helpless. In the Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, Steinbeck uses Marxist beliefs to plot the long battle experienced by the Joad family. The Joads encounters illustrate that the Bourgeoise mishandle their control in order to control the Proletariats, estranging and abusing their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. The Chart Above Displays The Known Ancestors Of John... The chart above displays the known ancestors of John Bigony Rex. The Bigony, Rex, Knauss and Tibben lines reaches the furthest back in time to European births in the 1600 s. The circles represent roots of the American dream, when men and women alike risked all to journey across an ocean to a distant land called America. It was a time of kings, war and persecution. Our brave forefathers were farmers, blacksmiths, fishermen and laborers. Regardless of their humble start, they became the building blocks for what will become a shining beacon of hope that transformed our world. Henry Tibben represented hundreds of farmers growing up along the Dutch and German border in independent Bentheim county. He firmly believed that hard work, religious freedom and the spirit of man could create a superior world for all people. To that aim, he took full advantage of his schooling, mastering not only reading, but writing and accounting. Optimism filled his soul like the fresh paintings hanging in the museums. He expected the future will harbor better things than just quiet farming. In that spirit, he never accepted the limits of digging peat or milking cows, or practicing a religion he did not profess to. His exploring mind always asked questions, often to the annoyance of his mentors, building a dream for himself and his descendants that only America could foster. A test of Henry s grit came during the 1670 s when a dark spirit spread across Holland. French King Louis sent legions of horses, cannons and nights across the Rhine River into the flat, peat fields of the Dutch frontier. Other Catholic allies soon joined in the rampage, sending Protestants into a panic. Rape, pillaging and infernos followed their movement north toward the Tibben farm; the unprepared Dutch armies retreated or surrendered. His Dutch neighbors called 1672 the The Year of Disaster. The Tibbens worshiped in a church that many Catholic leaders despised, The Dutch Reform Church. The Tibben farm resided along the Dutch and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Main Problem Of Drinking Alcohol The main problem of drinking alcohol is that it causes intemperance. Intemperance is having an excessive amount of something, instead of having it in moderation. The document states that intemperance is an issue because it causes men to become irreclaimable in their habits, without suspicion of danger (Major problems in the early republic). It states that men that drink an excessive amount of alcohol aren t aware of their habits, and that some of their habits may cause danger without them realizing it. The document describes alcohol as being a crime, and says that drinking an excessive amount of alcohol causes theft and falsehood. This is not the main issue though, the main problem is intemperance. In fact, by 1918, nearly three million women were employed in the textile, food, and war industries. Many restrictions on women s participation in these industries were torn down during World War 1. Women slowly started gaining more social responsibilities. They started working as streetcar conductors and radio operators; they also worked in logging camps and steel mills. During the war, they not only had to support their households, but also the war effort. After the war, their labor was far from over. It was now more socially acceptable to continue working. In addition, many men died in the war and women had to work single handedly to support their family. The public view of war changed after World War 1. Before the war, the public had seen war as it was in the 1800s with large armies attacking each other in open fields in battles that rarely lasted for more than a day. However, new technology and tactics made warfare much more gruesome. One tactic became known as trench warfare. When the British released a realistic film about the Battle of the Somme, a battle fought by Britain and France against Germany, the public was shocked. Soldiers no longer participated in distinct battles; they could be attacked at any time of day. This constant state of fear had obvious psychological effects. The public became disillusioned about war due to the large body counts as well. Pacifism became more popular as a result. The growth of independence movements was another important effect of the war. In territories controlled by Russia and England in particular, independence movements became common. The colonies had been largely neglected over the four years the countries were at war, and they finally saw their opportunity to rise up. • 13. Theme Of Friendship In The Outsiders A Story About Friendship, Courage, and Empathy The functions of intellect are insufficient and useless if you are without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy, says a quote by Dean Koontz. Throughout S.E. Hinton s book The Outsiders, there are many themes that she conveys in the book as she narrates the experiences of a greaser named Ponyboy who is a member of the Social group (Socs). Ponyboy meets many people and witnesses many difficult situations throughout the book. This inspirational book teaches the reader crucial lessons that are very important for everyone, even if their lives are not anything like Ponyboy s. Three important themes in the book include friendship, courage and empathy. Friendship is mandatory to be able to trust and rely on one another. Hinton writes about troubles that Ponyboy goes through and how his friends have a great impact on these experiences. For example, Johnny killed Bob who was a member of the Socs, because he saw that Bob along with other Socs were trying to drown Ponyboy. He knew that he d be in trouble, and he could have just left then and there. Instead, he killed Bob because they were hurting Ponyboy. Another situation where the author shows the theme of friendship is when Ponyboy got jumped and his whole gang came to help him. They were always ready to help a member of their group. Also, the situation when the church was on fire and Dally went to try and save Johnny, shows friendship as well. In chapter 6, Jerry, who Ponyboy thinks is one of the school s teachers, says, We think the towheaded kid is going to be all right. He burned one arm pretty badly, though, trying to drag the other kid out of the window, (pg. 95). This tells us that Dally, who at first wouldn t help the children in the church, helped Johnny get out because he was his friend and he cared about him. This shows how Dally demonstrates his friendship. Courage is crucial to be able to overcome obstacles and help others. Courage is a big theme in The Outsiders. They arrive at Boy Willie sister s house and he is eager to get inside to see her, for it has been 3 years. While Boy Willie is only there to grabbed the piano, Lymon has other plans to stay in Pittsburgh. While in the house, Willie continues to yell for Beatrice while the entire familyis still sleeping. I was kind of shocked to see how upset Beatrice was and how quickly she wanted them to leave once she saw him. What Beatrice doesn t know is that Wille plans... A few days later, Willie and Lymon are still selling water melon and seem to be having some trouble. The truck used to transport the water melon keeps breaking down which will make it difficult for them to make money. Not only do they have to fix the truck but they also need to find a way of transportation. Boy Willie finally talks about how he has found someone who will purchase the piano, but is having a hard time getting the approval from Beatrice. Doaker then ends up telling them how the piano came to be theirs. During the slave era, this instrument was traded for two slaves. The book ends rather disappointing, Willie is now saying his goodbyes and this is when you realize that his determination to sell that piano didn t pay off. Character Formation Give Your Full Attention to Character Formation 10th June 2010, Chennai, India For some time now, I have been deeply thinking about the reason for the slow progress of abhyasis, and in some cases even about the lack of their progress total lack of progress. Of course, some are progressing well, but that too is perhaps more because of the personal attention that the Master gives them rather than by their own effort, and I am not referring especially to their spiritual practice but to their lifestyle. You know, in Sahaj Marg we are always talking of the Master giving the inner spiritual condition, which for him is a matter of a second, whereas character formation is the responsibility of the abhyasi. You remember the old story of the man who was so besotted with a girl that when she went out of town, he followed her. There was a river to cross, and the river was in flood. He did not know what to do and then he found something like a log of wood. He took that log of wood and went across the river; and then he found a light burning in the house on the first floor. He said, That must be my beloved s room. And he saw to his surprise a thick rope hanging, and he said, Oh, she loves me so much that she has left a rope for me, and he climbed up using it. And when he entered the room, the girl was stunned. She said, How did you come? He said Oh, there was a boat, you know, there was a log of wood; I crossed the river. And you have left this rope for me. And to their horror, they found that the log of wood was a human corpse and the rope was a python! • 36. Persuasive Essay On Fast Food As time has passed, Americans have become downright lazy and inconsiderate when it comes to preparing their meals. They substitute fresh, nutritional, balanced meals for a big mac on their way to work. Since Americans have become so lazy, the emphasis is on quick service rather than the quality of the food. Open 24/7! It takes two hands to hold a whopper! There s fast food, then there s KFC! Your way, right away! As Americans continue to fill their bodies with fatty, processed, fake food, people around the world starve, and their access to clean drinking water is limited. So how is America to help? Now, when I state this, know it is not for my own gain. I am not starving, malnourished, nor am I grossly obese. This is simply a gain for the world, so that we may help those in need. In order for fast food chains to shut down, we would need to get rid of the obese people. How do we do this in a civil manner? Feed them to the malnourished. Now I know what you re thinking what is considered obese? Some people work out excessively, and a healthy 400 pound male that can lift that weight has a higher BMI because of the muscle. I mean to say the large ones, made entirely out of excess fat, the meat ready to slide off their bones the way it slides off of Colonel Sander s chicken. By feeding these overweight people to the malnourished, we not only will solve world hunger, but this will solve overpopulation. People over the BMI of 30 + will be put to death, and for a reasonable, redeeming cause. Those who are 18 will receive the meat of the generous donors. Those in the healthy range will continue to eat the way they do, while being monitored by a doctor, of course, so we can watch their eligibility for being overweight. Those who are overweight put on a watch list. The lower the BMI on the overweight side, the less you are to be harassed by the government. If you re teeter tottering on the obese line, you are put in a hospital, so that as soon as you can be put to slaughter, it s done. Not only will this solve world hunger and overpopulation, but America won t need volunteers to go over to these underdeveloped, third world countries, which will spare our time and supplies. To me, art is the creative outlet that has made me the person I am today. My artistic abilities have helped me choose my career path in film that I want to peruse for the rest of my life. I have used my real life obstacles, career goals, accomplishments and personal background to write lyrics, scripts and create art. I am an artist and I know that with the talents I have, will help me accomplish anything I set my mind to. I am the second oldest of four children and the second person in my family to go to college. Neither of my parents had the opportunity to college, so I had to work hard in school to get into a four year university. Due to my parent s education level, my dad is the only one who was able to find a job to provide for a family of six. He barely makes enough to maintain my family with the daily necessities. My family also has to put my medical expenses first over my education expenses. My parents do not have any left over money to help me pay my cell phone, school supplies, textbooks, or housing. However, in the midst of this feeling, there was also some comprehension because I knew that there was no other option to prevent this separation. I saw the three of them walking heading to the plane with destination to Colorado; far, very far away from me and the rest of my family. During their walk to the plane, each one of those steps they gave were like laughs of joy that were leaving out with the rhythm of their steps. So, step after step were just as less and less joy, until I could not see my mom and brothers anymore and that was when I let my sadness came out accompanied with tears. That moment completely changed the emotion with which I expected Christmas. It was as if the girl who waited impatiently for Christmas had disappeared along with the laughter of joy that disappeared following the rhythm of the footsteps of my mom and brothers walking to board the plane. • 43. The Paradoxes Of Abrahamic Religions In the beginning, God said let there be Abrahamic religions. And it was so. Ancient Israelites carried many traditions molded by the conditions in which they found themselves. Monotheism was a very different ideology at this time in world history and lead to cultural clashes between the Israelites and other regional powers. Their soteriology and religious practices eventually became the foundations on which modern Christianitystands. However, time causes great change in many things and Christianity is no exception. With these theological and fundamental changes arose a number of paradoxes. It is easy to just accept the discourse of a religion, but when one or a group of people start to truly analyze the principles of a faith, many times conflicts arise in truly knowing what cannot be know. What is life like after ones death. Metaphysical idea with really not evidence to support them. It is only with the insights and work of theologians and writers like Dionysus, Origen, Augustine and Dante that these paradoxes were further analyzed and resolved. In an ancient world embedded in polytheism, the views of the ancient Israelites was arguably a radical one for the time. This radicalism in a modern view seems practical and completely normal, yet during the time of the ancient Jewish people this factor brought with it a great deal of hardship. The cosmos of the semitic world world was that of heaven above, the earth in the middle, and the netherworld below (McDannel 1). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Singer s Treatise on a Changing World Singer s Treatise on A Changing World Introduction For all of human history, wealth has governed the balance of man s power just as the absence of wealth has dictated individual and collective suffering. The central premise of the landmark 1971 piece by Peter Singer is that this sharp contrast in the human experience is implicated by consider moral obligation. Singer s piece offers an important statement of global responsibility on the part of the world s wealthiest citizens, calling for action to end the economic suffering of others. Goal On its surface, the primary goal of the Singer article appears to be to create a push for more action on the part of the world s wealthy elite to come to the aid of those enduring the Bangladeshi refugee crisis. However, its implications carry far greater importance even than resolving a single humanitarian crisis. Instead, Singer s goal is to invoke a shift in perspective on the part of those nations in the industrialized world with the means to alleviate human misery not just in the Indian Bangladeshi crisis but in the face of all future humanitarian crises. Argument Singer makes the argument that many western nations, without great pain or deprivation to themselves, have the economic capacity to save the lives of the 9 million Bengal refugees suffering displacement and starvation.
