Essay On Disrespect
Crafting an essay on the subject of disrespect can be a challenging endeavor, as it necessitates a
delicate balance between expressing one's opinions and maintaining a coherent and respectful
tone. The difficulty lies in addressing the topic with the seriousness it deserves without
succumbing to a tone that might inadvertently contribute to the very disrespect being discussed.
To begin with, defining disrespect and its various manifestations requires a nuanced exploration
of cultural, societal, and personal perspectives. This demands extensive research to understand
the historical context, societal norms, and psychological factors that contribute to disrespectful
behavior. Juggling these different facets while maintaining a clear and organized structure poses
a significant challenge.
Moreover, tackling the emotional aspect of disrespect is another hurdle. Writing about the impact
of disrespect on individuals and communities involves navigating sensitive topics that may elicit
strong reactions from readers. Striking the right balance between empathy and objectivity is
crucial, but it's no small feat to convey the gravity of disrespect without resorting to
inflammatory language or biased viewpoints.
Additionally, considering the evolving nature of language and social dynamics, staying current
with the latest trends in disrespectful behavior adds another layer of complexity to the essay.
Addressing contemporary examples and issues related to disrespect requires constant vigilance
and up-to-date information.
In conclusion, writing an essay on disrespect is a formidable task that demands a thoughtful and
thorough exploration of the topic. It requires the writer to navigate a minefield of potential
pitfalls while maintaining a tone that fosters understanding rather than perpetuating the
negativity associated with disrespect.

Colin Kaepernick s Essay What Is Too Far
What do you think about professional athletes protesting? It shouldn t matter there
people too, just like you and me. Although did you ever think that once their
professionals things are different? Take in consideration how coaches or their team
looks after a player protest. It looks horrific but as a free country the people are titled
to their own opinion. Overall, professional athletes should be able to protest against
current events in the world even with their athletic status. Many professional sports
figures have taken a stand to end racial, class and violence no matter the given
consequence after. For example, there was a time when National Football League
(NFL) quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem. During
the given moment people wouldn t have understood the reasoning behind Kaepernick
not standing but then you have people like Gregg Popovich. Popovich the Antonio
Spurs head coach said, The important thing that Kaepernick... Show more content on

The protesters want you to understand their opinion from their point of view and take
it beyond the reasoning they additionally need. In the article What Is Too Far it says,
I do not question someone s First Amendment right to express their views but I do
question the venue these athletes have chosen. I also question their target. By
protesting the national anthem, they are protesting America. The quote is from a
writer who seen the (NFL) quarterback Colin Kaepernick refuse to stand for the
national anthem. At the time this took place there was discussion about race, class
and violence not to add that it was election year. However, athletes don t only protest
against political or racial events. The National Basketball Association (NBA) had
Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul take stage and talk
to some fellow kids. The primary topic was how to help kids become more socially
Team Gemstone Research Paper
Team Gemstone was a great experience for me. I thoroughly enjoy my time in the
challenge/adventure course. First, we split off into our teams and completed
different team building activities. My team, team WALK, completed the lava
challenge. We were given eight wooden blocks and had to get our entire team to
the opposite side with out touching the ground or leaving blocks unattended.
Overall, we completed the challenge successfully and felt good about our
teamwork experience. Next, we moved onto the ropes tower. Here, we had the
option of climbing to the top of the tower while attached to a harness and rope. This
was also a fun experience for me, and hopefully everyone else involved. My favorite
component of the experience was the team activities.
Narvaeza Analysis
Imagine meeting someone from halfway around the World. You probably wouldn t
have too many things in common. How would you be able to communicate and
understand their way of life? This was one of the main struggles for Cabeza and his
crew throughout his entire journey. Through the struggles they found ways to adapt
and try to understand the people whom they have not communicated with in 12,000
years. In today s world we are able to connect with anybody at anytime, anywhere in
the world. Were able to use google translate allowing us to virtually speak and
understand any language. Unfortunately back in the 1500 s cabeza and all other
people during this time did not have google translate. This made miscommunication a

The Spaniards also had a very strong faith. After two devastating hurricanes in back
to back years the Spaniards decided to build churches to protect themselves from
these attacks. The Spaniards thought of hurricanes and other events as such an act
of the devil . Religion started to spread quickly. Look at today s world try to
comprehend all of the different religions there are. The numbers are astounding.
Nowadays most religions are well respected and in America, everyone is allowed
to follow whatever religion they choose. In the last 50 years many thing have
changed. In the time of Cabeza many religions were discriminated and frowned
upon. Over time as more people and different types of religions started to come to
the new world, the spread of christianity grew, giving new options of religion to many
Military Tactics
Goals and Tactics of the military In the military, effective leadership is on a
contingent amongst several performance capabilities. More complex relationships
among power, influence tactics and influential outcomes do exist. (Wisecarver,
Schneider, Foldes, Cullen, 2011) Hard influence tactics such as pressure, coalitions,
and legitimating are more likely to result in compliance. On the other hand, softer
tactics such as rational persuasion, inspirational appeals, and consultation result in
more people joining the military. These tactics are also more effective at influencing
others. Researchers suggest that using multiple influence tactics can be useful, but
have not yet delineated the best approaches. (Friestad Wright, 1994) There
Hopelessness Theory Of Depression
Hopelessness Theory of Depression. The hopelessness theory of depression
(Abramson et al., 1989), which is a based on the reformulated theory of
helplessness and depression (Abramson, Seligman, Teasdale, 1978), provides a
conceptualization for the underlying vulnerability in the proposed integrative
biopsychosocial etiological model discussed in this review. The hopelessness theory
of depression is a cognitive diathesis stress model that outlines a series of three
cognitive inference tendencies that interact with each other and negative life events
to contribute to the etiology of MDD (Abramson et al., 1989). These three cognitive
inference tendencies include: (1) inferring stable and global causes for the event, (2)
inferring negative consequences of the event, and (3) inferring negative self
characteristics as a result of the event (Abramson et al., 1989). The hopelessness
theory of depression hypothesized that the depressogenic inferential style was one
that included all three of the cognitive inference tendencies (Abramson et al., 1989).
Furthermore, the theory posited that the objective severity of the negative event
required to result in an episode of MDD was inversely proportional to level of the
depressogenic inferential style, such that the higher the cognitive vulnerability, the
lower the objective severity of the triggering life event, and vice versa (Abramson et
al., 1989). The cognitive diathesis stress model of the hopeless theory of depression

The Asean Regional Centre For Biodiversity Conservation
I.Introduction
Since its formation in 1967, the member states of The Association of Southeast Asian
Nations (ASEAN) have struggled with transboundary environmental challenges.
Unsustainable logging, haze pollution, and the illegal wildlife trade are but a few of
the crises facing the biodiverse region. Although formed to promote cooperation
between member states, ASEAN s ability to effectively coordinate member states to
manage these urgent problems has been called into question (Leviter, 2010).
Criticisms include that ASEAN s commitment to consensus building and non
interference in other member states domestic affairs known as the ASEAN way
makes implementation of policy too slow, causing ASEAN to take a reactive, rather

The definition encompasses ideas such as open access, open collaboration, citizen
science, research efficiency, and research understandability (OECD, 2015); this
paper will largely focus on the aspect of open science that relates to open data, in
which data is available to the public (Pampel Dallmeier Tiessen, 2014; OECD, 2015).
The main rationale for open science is that the sharing of information will increase
transparency in data collection and analysis, communication, and collaboration,
thereby increasing education and innovation (OECD, 2015). Open science platforms
are becoming more commonplace as digital technologies improve, but there is very
little information on: 1. potential successes and pitfalls of open science in the context
of conservation, and 2. how these platforms could be modified to suit regional
realities and needs, resulting in enhanced engagement by local populations and better
informed decision making. Borneo Hub
Borneo Hub is an open science platform for transboundary information sharing across
the Southeast Asian island of Borneo, which is divided between the nations of
Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei Darussalam. Developing innovative means of
promoting sound conservation practices in this region described as the last remaining
place where the Indo Malaysian forests of Southeast Asia can be conserved on a scale
large enough to be permanently viable is a major concern (Hardiono, Alfred and
WWF Malaysia, 2005). The

The president of Cold Moo Ice Cream Company, a chain of ice cream stores in the
Midwest, was unhappy with the actual six month profit figures for the company
recently prepared by the CFO. The president asked the CFO for a profit
breakdown, by store, of the actual six month results. When the president received
the report, he was extremely upset and called the CFO into his office. The president
stated, These reports show that each store in the chain is profitable, but our
company results are unprofitable! How can this be? The CFO pointed out that each
store was allowed to set prices for ice cream based on its cost structure. However, the
stores cost structures did not include headquarters costs or the costs of advertising
and delivery of products.
What are the three characteristics for operating a successful responsibility accounting
system?
Consider whether the accounting system at Cold Moo Ice Cream Company includes
the three characteristics of a successful responsibility accounting system. How could
the responsibility accounting system at Cold Moo be improved?
Three characteristics of the successful operation of a responsibility accounting system
include: Budgets are created for each responsibility center, measures the performance
of each responsibility center, and preparation of timely performance reports.
Nursing Attire
Trust between the physician and patient will help to increase the chance for a good
outcome. The article Taking a uniform approach to nursing attire (Fogle,C., Reams,
P., 2014)claims that professional dress was found to impart confidence in the
wearers ability and knowledge (Fogle, C., Reams, P., 2014). If the patient trusts the
health care team they will be more inclined to comply with the physician s plan of
care. Patients will listen to the education the nurse is providing to help prepare them
for discharge. If the ability to gain the patients trust is lost patients will not comply
with the plan of care which may result in the patient returning to the hospital or not
returning at all. Nurses find it important to have the ability
The Cause Of The Great Potato Famine
It s 1845 and our country, Ireland, is in extreme poverty and starvation. This is
getting called on the streets the Great Famine or Potato Famine. Our crops are dying
due to a disease that has been spreading through our fields. The cause of this disease
is Phytophthora infestans or, as it more widely known, the potatoblight. This is a
fungus that originated from the highlands of central Mexico. It can infect all the
potato crops in a field over the course of 3 days, which can cause losses that can be as
high as 100%. The faminehas left a devastating impact on our island. People are
dying and fleeing the country. Our population is decreasing at a rapid pace and we
re losing hope, but we can t let that happen. There are a few options left
Dr King Jr Kings Letter Analysis
My emotions as I read Dr. King, Jr s letter are anger and sadness. It makes me
angry the way the Negro communities were treated; all they wanted was to have the
same rights as white people. It makes me sad because we are in the 21st century
and so much racism and injustices still exist. This letter reminds me of the way
certain people feel about illegal immigrants. I am not condoning the way they come
in the U.S, but I do know that they come here for a better future. Many presidents
have made promises after promises that they will change the immigration law, but
those promises are always broken. My latest experience that reminds me of Kings
letter is when Mexican people were called rapist. It offended me because I come from
a hard working Mexican
Comparing Imagery in Frost s Acquainted with the Night...
Imagery in Frost s Acquainted with the Night and Sexton s Her Kind
In order to maximize meaning and overall total effect of a piece of work, writers use
various literary devices. These techniques enhance the author s work and add a
dimension that results in higher reader satisfaction. Throughout the poems I have
read this quarter thus far, I have discovered the use of imagery as a prominent source
of literary embellishment. In particular the image of night is used in poems
Acquainted with the Night, written by Robert Frost, and Her Kind, written by Anne
Sexton, to portray a dark and lonely tone. All through both poems there is a dark
feeling due to word selection and associations to evil ... Show more content on

In the poem Her Kind, by Anne Sexton, the same feeling of loneliness is achieved
through association with the night. The image of night has the same quality of
being rejected by society, and outcast because of the disconnection with people.
Night is seen by the world as a time to sleep and be within ones own thoughts and
dreams. For the speaker to be up and about signifies that she is alone while the
world sleeps. Therefore she must be lonely. Using night as the setting but not
totally describing every little detail, creates a sense of unknown. The witch in this
case is spooky and misunderstood and is unable to participate in daily activities so
she must take shelter of the night in order to do her evil business. Night allows the
concept of a witch to take its full affect. Witches are almost always associated with
the night. Especially when it is a wicked witch. Witches are ugly so they must travel

Genie Case Study Psychology
After Genie was rescued at the age of 13, she was part of a study on brain
development. Scientist and therapists helped to teach Genie how to speak. Genie
learnt lots of words, but because she was cognitively deficient, she was unable to
make up sentences, and didn t have any sense of grammar. On Genie s 18th Birthday,
she moved back in with her mother, in the house that she was isolated and neglected
in. But after only a few weeks, it became clear that her mother could not cope.
Therefore, Genie was moved into state care, with terrible consequences. Those
consequences were that Genie was moved from house to house, who were mainly the
therapists she worked with, and then she deteriorated. The scientists who had worked
with her, tried to warn the state, and tried to inform them that she needed comfort and
attention, as this is what she laced while growing up, but they did not listen, which
resulted in Genie... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Genie wasn t spoken to, the left side of her brain was not getting stimulated.
Genie s brain shrank, and became less functional, which lead to the left side of her
brain becoming disconnected, as it wasn t being stimulated. Her brain had not
developed the capacity for language. When Genie was found, she was a teenager,
and at this age, due to lack of brain stimulation, she never developed her language.
Other factors that affected her speech regression, was that she was locked in a
room, the same room every day, so she didn t see anything else, to stimulate her
brain function. Researchers were never able to determine fully, whether Genie had
suffered from pre existing cognitive deficits or not. When Genie was an infant, a
paediatrician had identified her as having some type of mental delay. Researchers
were therefore, left to wonder whether she had suffered from cognitive deficits,
caused by being born with some degree of mental retardation, or if it was caused by
years of
Theoretical Perspective Analysis
Theoretical perspectives are important to understand in order to understand different
people s beliefs regarding how they perceive the world. The Functionalist perspective
speaks about how society maintains stability through interconnected parts. The
Conflict perspective looks at the current way the world looks, and looks to see if
power and resources are distributed properly. On the other hand, the Feminist
perspective looks at the role that genderplays in our society, and fights for equality
between men and women. Lastly, the Internationalist perspective works to understand
society as one unit. Personally, the theoretical perspective that I support of these four
would be the Feminist perspective. I favour this perspective because it
Essay on Bracero Program
The Bracero Program
The Bracero Program was a temporary contract labor program initiated in 1942 by
the United States and Mexico. Designed originally to bring a experienced Mexican
agricultural laborers to harvest sugar beets in Stockton, California, but soon spread
to most of the United States and to the railroad industry. Although the railroad
program ended in 1945, after World War II the agricultural program continued until
1964. Originally, the program was designed to protect the illegal migrant workers
against the exploitation by American farmers. However, it was criticized and was
viewed as a failure from the humanitarian point of view. Workers in the Bracero

The United States wielded the power of negotiations with both the Mexican
government and the Mexican people. Mexico lost all real bargaining power in the
1950 s. Along with opposition from Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, the United
States determined that the program was no longer vital to the American s; it
discontinued the program in 1964. Chavez and Huerta fought the program because
it undermined American workers and exploited the migrant workers. Nothing says
it more obvious than the account from Walt Edwards (as cited in Dillin, 2006),
When we caught illegal aliens on farms and ranches, the farmer or rancher would
often call and complain [to officials in El Paso]. And depending on how politically
connected they were, there would be political intervention. That is how we got
into this mess we are in now. (Dillin, John, 2006) By the end of the program, farm
labor unions began to form which eventually led to the abolishment of laws stating
it was illegal to organize farm labor. This lead the way to the grape strikes in
California and the boycotts in stores, lead by Filipino farm workers. After the first
strike several various organizations began to form and led similar movements around
the country. Through the 1960s to the 1980s, Cesar Chavez was a major inspiration
to such movements and organizations. One of the most notable protests was when
Chavez and the UFW marched from the Coachella Valley to the Mexican
The Education Of The United States Essay
The purpose of education in the United States has been designed to meet the changing
needs of society, though never quite fast enough to fully reflect those changes. In its
early history, American education reinforced the religious doctrines of the Puritan
settlers. During the era of our founders, the purpose of educationshifted to crafting
democratic citizens. During the Industrial Revolution schoolbecame more about
preparing students to be future workers, punching out students on a pedagogical
assembly line. Many of these early ideas persist into the 21st century, though there is
a greater diversity than ever in educational epistemology. Largely though, the
perceived purpose of education in contemporary public schools is to prepare
students to become future citizens who participate in the democratic process, to
become skilled workers who contribute to the American work force, and/or to help
students to become critical thinkers. The purpose of schooling in the United States is
and always has been political, and therefore closely intertwined with the values of
Capitalism and the American economy. As a result, the prevailing philosophies of
education have been reactionary and not progressive. To fully prepare students for a
future we cannot foresee, education must break beyond these limited boundaries. The
swift progression of technology over the past century has proven that we cannot
simply teach students a set of skills to prepare them for what lies ahead. In The
Volunteering At Food Bank
I feel like people could benefit from volunteering at places like food banks because
it can show them how much they have to be thankful for, like to be in a family well
off enough to provide for themselves. Seeing as it s so easy to forget sometimes how
fortunate we really can be. Volunteering at the foodbank will show and remind you
of those things that seem so normal to us, but we really should be thankful for
having. Through your volunteering you would meet new people, all with different
backgrounds and stories. Furthermore, the feeling of helping others is always a good
one. Knowing that you made a positive difference in someone s life and that you are
one of the reasons they smiled today can make all the difference. Additionally, it

Tanguy s Painting The Earth And The Air
The earth and the air is an oil painting by the French Surrealist Yves Tanguy. It is
one of the modern art paintings in the Cone Collection, in the Baltimore Museum
of Art. It is created by Tanguy in 1941. It is about 30 x 40 wide with a wooden
frame. The background colors divide the piece into mainly two sections, the top and
the bottom part. The top part is about 3/5 of the whole piece. It is painted in blue
and white, like a watercolor like sky without any subject matters. It has a dreamy
feeling because the colors blend smoothly.
There is no clear horizon line in the painting but it is still possible to separate the
ground and the sky by the background colors or the compositions. The top part is in
mainly blue and white while the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The larger pieces are in the front while the objects in the back are smaller. Also the
cast black shadows of the objects are distinct with clear edges and more than one
light spots are found in the painting. Therefore there are several light sources coming
from the right hand corner of the painting and shine to the objects.
It is assumed that the main focus of the painting is the bottom part because the
objects are placed there and they draw viewers attention first. They are realistic but
abstract and evenly distributed on the page. They look like modern sculptures not
only with alien shapes but also innovative colors. There are a group of building like
shapes on the most front of the painting. They are connected at the bottom part so
they can be described as a group. They have different dimensions and one of them
has a very sharp part pointing upwards to the melting land between the ground and
the sky. There are several alien objects around the main group, which some of them
are really tiny but still are painted precisely. There is a transparent object in between
the middle ground and the background on the left hand side of the painting. The
whole shape blends into the background because of its transparency. Also it is
because there is not enough light shinning to the object to make it easily visible. One
of the interesting about the painting is there are two super tiny spots near the
transparent object. They are painted clearly and you can see them only on closer

Outcome 1 understand specific communication needs and factors affecting them.
1.1 Explain the importance of meeting an individual s communication needs?
Individuals that have communication problems need help and support to enable them
to express themselves in the way they want, it s important that you find out the best
way for the individual to communicate for example it may be through sign language
or writing what they want to say down on paper, you must respect their preferred
method of communication as it is everyone s human right to communicate and not
allowing them to do so is stopping them from expressing their options and rights.

You may be working with doctors or speech therapists.
2.2 contribute to identifying the communication methods or aids that will best suit
the individual.
As some peoples communication can change day to day due to medical or physical
conditions you can help to identify the best methods to suit them by monitoring them
and reporting what you find to your manager they can then put in place aids or
different methods that will best suit the individual. Also they will be able to set up
meetings with the appropriate people e.g. speech therapist.
2.3 Explain how and when to access information and support about identifying and
addressing specific communication needs.
You can access the service users care plan this will help you to identify any specific
needs that they may have, you can then give them the support that is needed to
deliver the best possible care
Outcome 3 Be able to interact with individuals using their preferred communication.
3.1 Prepare the environment to facilitate communication.
You can find out how the individual feels more comfortable, it could be one to one
or they may prefer to be in a group. Make sure there is not a lot of background noise
and distractions have a good seating arrangement where you can see and hear each
other without having things in the way and so you don t have to shout to hear each
Whole Foods Vs Trader Joe s
The natural and organic food industry are in no doubt the most dynamic and diverse
in recent years; traditional supermarket chains such as Kroger Company, Costco, and
Wal Mart have also begun undertaking in the natural and organic food market
offering competitive prices (Sonya Bells, Whole Foods Market after Fiscal 2015: the
Whole Story, marketrealist.com). However, to me, the two brands that resonate the
most in this service sector, at least locally here in Columbus, Ohio are Whole Foods
Market, Inc and Trader Joe s.
Whole Foods was founded back in 1980 in Austin, Texas and led the industry for 20
years by focusing efforts on selling quality fresh, local, and organic produce. At
Whole Foods, they consider quality the highest form of value, which means strict
standards that take into account such things as artificial food preservatives,

The company later grew bigger in size and popularity. Immediately after, to
differentiate from the rest, it started packaging innovative, hard to find, great tasting
foods under the Trader Joe s name. In their website, they offer quality ingredients, no
artificial flavors, no artificial preservatives, the use of colors derived only from
naturally available products, no MSG, no genetically modified ingredients, no
partially hydrogenated oils (artificial trans fats), no marketing costs, tasting panel

Essay about Frankenstein
What qualifies a creature to be a monster? When the movie Frankenstein came out,
monsters were usually big and scary animals that terrified everyone that walked in
their path. They were creatures that generally behaved monstrously, doing things that
were against society norms and had no consideration for the safety of others. Perhaps
looking beyond the physical appearanceof a monster and just looking at their actions
one might see Dr. Frankensteinas a monster himself. Frankenstein was a story about
a man who created an individual which led his life to failure and death, because of
his desire to play which nature, and attempting the role of God.

He is therefore responsible for his creation and all of the actions that his monster
commits.
In the long lived debate between nature verses nurture, Dr. Frankenstein s creation is
a prime example of nature. Frankenstein s greatest flaws in his attempt to create a
being, is that he does not even nurture his creation as a parent would for his own
child. Frankenstein himself grew up in a loving family who was still concerned about
his actions till the end. Yet Frankenstein decides that he doesn t like the monster after
he had completed it. He rejects the monster, and in turn the monster rejects him.
Frankenstein sees the creature s physical appearance only, not attempting to look
beyond his looks. The monster is treated as though he is an animal and not a living
human being, and because of this he is shown no love or affection from his creator
and society as a whole. Making the monster feel isolated and hated, causing him to
seek vengeance over his creator. The monster therefore becomes Frankenstein s
shadow. Initially, the monster was not filled with the hate and rage that he would
exhibit later in the movie. It was in many ways a helpless baby, only wanting
someone to love him and teach him. However, Victor Frankenstein was so afraid of
him, as were the townspeople, that he did not get this love or education. The monster
was forced to defend himself from the start.
Dr. Frankenstein s creation was looked at by the village as a feared and hated
The Testing Of Salivary Biomarkers
Introduction: Although the testing of salivary biomarkers has yet to take hold in
clinical settings, the research surrounding this science is promising. Ideally, in the
future, patients will be able to submit saliva samples to their doctor or dentist to be
tested for a variety of conditions which can be detected based on particular proteins
or enzymes, et cetera. The hope is that these tests could lead to early disease
detection and treatment. In this report, you will find the ways in which saliva can
be gathered, as well as the known biomarkers for specific diseases, and the
shortcomings and hopes for research in this field.
Saliva Composition and Function: In this article, author Karthikeyan Murthykumar
discusses the composition of saliva, as well as its ability to protect the mouth, and aid
in digestion. The study performed identified the following details regarding saliva
composition and function: Saliva is excreted through three different glands: parotid,
submandibular, and sublingual. It is comprised of about 99% water, but contains a
mixture of ions and proteins, such as sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride,
magnesium, bicarbonate, phosphate, albumin, and some polypeptides. Before saliva
is excreted through the glands, it is isotonic to blood plasma. However, once it exits
the ducts of the glands, it is hypotonic. It is this hypotonicity that allows us to
perceive flavor, by then mixing with ions and dissolving gustin. Gustin is a salivary

Kaitlyn Mabe Professor Cat Gleason Theatre 1100 7 October 2015 Romeo and
Juliet Costume Design Romeo and Juliet, one of the most beloved classics in the
world, is a story of two young people who fall desperately in love with one another.
Unfortunately, their true love for one another proved to be forbidden by both their
families. If not for the tragic end, this play may have even been described as a fairy
tale. In this production Of Romeo and Juliet, the Missouri Theatre did a
magnificent job in recreating the lavishly ornate costumes characteristic of this
Renaissance period. From Lady Capulet, to the servants, the eye catching costumes
offered a tantalizing depiction of these characters social status. Lady Capulet s
costume was the most impressive detailed and beautiful, and represented her
character and personality the best. The first character that I analyzed in Romeo
and Juliet, was the young Lady Capulet. She is the wife of the sixty year old Lord
Capulet, and the mother of the young and beautiful Juliet. Lady Capulet has a
rather distant and benign relationship with Juliet, treats her as if she is still a child.
Her relationship with Lord Capulet is strained as well, as she makes fun of his age
in front of others, disrespects him, and acts as if she has authority over him. In
contrast to her husband and daughter, Lady Capulet has a rather close relationship
with her nephew, Tybalt. Upon finding out about Tybalt s death, Lady Capulet
grieves twice as hard over
The Merits And Benefits Of Keiretsu In Japan
Introduction
Zaibatsu, the prevailing form of business declined after the Second World War,
followed by an economic reform, a new business management form has emerged,
which is the Keiretsu system. It continued to be the dominant form of business in the
second half of 20th century, yet, the economic recession of Japan in1990s has made
people realize the incapability of the old Keiretsu system, reforms of it is needed for
revitalizing Japan s once flourish economy. This paper will examine the role of
Keiretsu system in Japan s economy in detail and discuss the future development of
the system.

The intimate relationships between Japanese firms and the main banks has made
internal cash position less of a constraint to the firms, as they could continue their
investments and growth even when they are facing a shortage of cash (Wu et al,
2000). Also, the keiretsu system protected the firms from market failure and reduced
the potential financial risks (McGuire Dow, 2005). The keiretsu system contributes
significantly in evening financial burdens in the face of crisis and in merging the
goals of profit maximization within the corporate community (Kawai, 2007). The
equalizing function immunes firms from the risks of uneven and unbalanced
economic improvements of the member firms within the keiretsu system, as both
firms acquire the same financial access under the system. Meanwhile, the system also
reduced the costs for the firms, as the system allowed firms to form alliance with
inter firm agreements which would lower transaction costs such as coordinating
costs, risks of broken contracts and searching costs (Ozkan,
The Demographic Environment Of Telstra
Demographic The Demographic environment relates to the structure of populations
(Oxford Dictionaries | English, 2017). The factors that contribute to the demographic
environment relevant to this report are location and density of the population. The
telecommunications coverage in rural and regional areas in Australia has
monopolistic characteristics. Telstra has a competitive advantage over Optus with
99.3% coverage of the population compared to Optus with a 98.5%, this is equivalent
to an estimated 192,000 more potential customers. Although Telstra has this
competitive advantage they claim that the revenue received from their rural base
stations does not cover the cost of development and maintenance.3. The Australian
competition and consumer commission commenced an inquiry looking into Telstra s
rural monopoly in September 2016(4). They concluded that giving service providers
roaming capabilities off the Telstra network may have an adverse effect on price
levels and there was no evidence that there would be a decrease in Telstra s pricing
through more competition. Currently rural and regional customers benefit from the
high competition in metropolitan areas because the industry has consistent Australia
wide pricing schedules for their consumer services (5). This demographic macro
environmental has given Optus an opportunity to invest in regional areas. Optus chief
executive officer Allan Lew recently announced that Optus will invest 1 billion
dollars into 500 new base
Chest To Glove Theory
Pitching mechanics are one of the most controversial and complex things in all of
sports. In the roughly 1.5 seconds that it takes for the pitcher to deliver a pitch, the
pitcher uses almost every muscle in his body in a variety of ways. That is what
makes it so difficult and also why it is so important that it is done correctly. There
are many different ways of throwing a ball sixty feet six inches. Two of the main
ones are chest to glove, and gloveside disconnect. The chest to glove theory is exactly
what it sounds like, the pitchertries to bring his chest to his glove in hopes of getting
a further release point. Gloveside disconnect is a little bit more tricky. With this
method the pitcher either points his glove towards the catcheror... Show more content

One of these negatives is that pitchers can lose lots of trunk rotation by trying to
bring chest to glove. A quote that supports this is by focusing too much on getting
your glove out and bringing your chest forward you often tend to block yourself off
(The Importance of Good Glove Arm Action). Blocking off means that the pitcher is
not fully able to get over their front foot and is unable to follow through correctly .
This causes them to lose trunk rotation which is a very important part of high
velocity pitching mechanics (How to efficiently change pitching mechanics). While
this seems to contradict that the chest to glove method gives more angular trunk
velocity, the two are actually different. The difference is that angular trunk velocity
is the speed at which the trunk is moving while trunk rotation is the amount of
movement, not necessarily how fast it is going. Another negative is that chest to
glove can lead to no follow through. The less trunk rotation there is, the less a
pitcher is going to be able to follow through, which is vital to deceleration. Proper
deceleration is also extremely important to injury prevention. No follow through will
often lead to throwing pitches high, which is not good. Not following through leads
to a further back release point. The further back their release point the more likely it
becomes that the ball will fly out early. These are the negatives of the chest to glove
King Kong Entertainment Of The Masses Analysis
King Kong: The Entertainment of the Masses It s money and adventure and fame.
It s the thrill of a lifetime and a long sea voyage that starts at six o clock tomorrow
morning (King Kong, Carl Denham). As Carl Denham (Robert Armstrong) drags
King Kong to Broadway, he makes ten thousand dollars in just one night for the
exhibition of the Eighth Wonder of the World. Thousands of New Yorkers paid
twenty dollars per ticket, or the equivalent to three hundred sixty nine dollars in
today s currency, to gaze at a prehistoric ape. This gaze found in King Kongis the
imperial gaze developed against foreigners in early Hollywood travel films. Ann
Kaplan comments on early travel films in Hollywood, Science and Cinema: The
Imperial and the Male Gaze in Classic Filmand states that: They [travelers] mainly

Right after the audience gazes and criticises Kong for the first time, Denham asks
the press to take the first photographs of Kong and his captors. As the sixteen
photographers begin to take pictures, Kong roars in fury. Since Denham is only
interested in the profit that can be generated from the press, he quickly calms the
audience and tells the photographer to capture a photo of Ann (Fay Wray) and
Driscoll (Bruce Cabot). A closeup of the flashing cameras is shown and then Kong
gets out of control. It is worthy to mention that Kong had not roared as loud as in this
scene (not on stage at least) to notice that the flash was what triggered Kong to act in
a savage manner. It is then clear that the use of technology enraged Kong because he
felt estranged and threaten. The camera symbolizes how the white traveler
dehumanizes the foreign individual and reproduces this visualization to the rest of the
Feral Children In Lord Of The Flies
In the Lord of the Flies the whole plot is centered around these boys who can be
seen as feral children. A feral child is a human child who has lived isolated from
human contact. Most of the time these children will have no experience regarding
human care, social niceties, or language. Therefore, most of the time these
children will not be able to speak or even stand up straight. They could also be
unable to use facilities. Another problem a feral child would face is being unable
to learn at a normal speed depending on how long they were isolated this is due to
their lack in interest in human activity around them. This also causes these
children to not be able to create bonds with other people. With this, these children
have little to no morals to keep them in check because they are willing to do most
anything to justify what they or someone else does. This is the same way for the
island boys because they were on their own on this deserted island with no adults
to tell them what to do or what not to do. Over the course of time these boys began
to lose themselves and not even have the same morals as they did before the plane
crashed. It can be argued that the reason the boys became feral on while on the island

start of the book they all still had their morals from their parents and had not been in
a situation where they needed to break them. However, they are now beginning to
face more impactful decisions and situations. One could also look at it as there are
now more things threatening the survival of the boys which cause them to make
riskier decisions. The choices that they choose is what makes the boys more
instinctual. Not the choices themselves but what comes out of their decision and not

Theme Of Love In A Rose For Emily And Andre Dubus s
Killings
Cause of Death: Love William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and Andre Dubus
Killings both explore themes of passion, crime, and morality. The violence
committed in both stories is deployed with both the threat of love and longing for
love. Killings portrays a father s love for his child and the desire to avenge his death.
However, the crime he has committed lef to self destruction and some sort of self
murder. The characteris an ironic position, since he was confronted with the fervent
desire to seek revenge and the guilt that guilt that came with it. Anger and
righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for
Emily portrays love as the main reason for the crime. In this story, the father
suppressed his daughter from seeking a husband, which eventually led to her killing
her love to find eternal love. These two stories are the same in some aspect in terms
of the theme which revolves around passion and crime. However, the character differs
greatly on the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings, the character felt
guilt and a sort of self death. The character in A Rose for Emily on the other hand,
died with no remorse for what she committed. The story of Killings by Andre Dubus,
centers on the theme of vengeance. The main character, Matt Fowler, plotted revenge
on the young man, Strout, who killed his son. The act of killing was more of a
private vengeance
The Truth About the Music Industry Essay
Music is universally known as an expression of emotion, rebellion against the man, a
way of life, a random collection of sounds, an annoying thing kids listen to, or even
a vacation from everything, but in reality music is free of all definition. The industry
involved in buying, selling and recording of music has grown so old, treacherous, and
ignorant that it can not figure out the steps it needs to evolve with the rapidly
expanding music industry. Musicians and fans alike are screaming about the dire need
of some modern day innovation in the market. Sadly the monstrous corporations that
dominate the market have put a lid on the competitive edge, stopped the innovative
changes any smaller companies can make.

As a band we have done some research of studio time and what it costs to have a
record published and sold in stores. I understand that music is hard to make a
living off of because its hard enough to just pay for the things your band needs and
that record labels lose a lot of money in trying to finance an album that has such a
high chance of failure. But major Record labels are creating a monopoly of the music
industry which limits the innovation and advancement other minor labels or
musicians could provide by taking away competition. The market is dominated by the
Big Three (Sony, Warner Music Group, and Universal Music Group) who
continuously buy out competition and all have many smaller companies who
have front names to cover up the fact that they are owned by the larger corporation.
Ten years ago there were five major companies that controlled the market place, in
the beginning of 2005 Sony and BMG, Bertelsmann Music Group, decided to form
a 50/50 partnership that would spread worldwide. Together they controlled a vast
majority of American music and the only place in the world that was not apart of
this corporation was Japan because the business would be affected too much. Then
in 2008 BMG announced that they were not going to renew the contract because
of falling sales which would have been really bad for Sony financially, so they
decided to buy BM s portion of the company for 1.2 billion, which included all of
BMG s record
The Phillips Curve Essay
The Phillips Curve
Economists agree that unemployment and inflation are two of the major
macroeconomic problems of the twentieth century. If a relationship between the two
existed then this would be a major break through for the macro management of the
economy. Phillips work was empirical started with evidence and worked towards a
theory. The causation for the Phillips theory was that the level of unemployment
caused the rate of change in money wages to be what it was.
What economic theory lies behind this?
As unemployment decreases the available pull of labour goes down. This means that
resources become increasingly scarce and workers can push for higher wage rates.
Or as unemployment decreases more people have

They held that it was the government s duty to achieve the correct level of demand
by manipulating its own spending and tax receipts, or in other words, to have an
active fiscal policy. This policy required the government to spend more than it
received if the economy had less than full employment. As a consequence, aggregate
demand would rise through a multiplier effect and unemployment would fall. The
inflation controversy Demand Pull or Cost Push?
Keynesian economists were divided into two camps. Some believed that inflation
was caused by too much demand for goods and services, or excess demand i.e.
Demand Pull Inflation. Such economists were very enthusiastic about the Phillips
curve because it seemed to provide strong evidence for their views. The second camp
of Keynesian economists believed that inflation was caused by cost pressures arising
from high wage settlements gained by strong trade unions and from increases in
import prices i.e. Cost Push Inflation. They were doubtful about the usefulness of the

evidence of the Phillips curve they thought that wage inflation and unemployment
could be traded off against each other, that policy makers could decide to have a bit
less unemployment in exchange for accepting a bit more wage inflation or vice

A.What are the advantages of the Starbucks Card to the company?
The most obvious advantage of the card to Starbucks is the guaranteed income.
Once people load money on the card it can only be spent at a Starbucks location. It
also makes tracking customer purchasing habits and preferences readily available.
Then there is the case of the forgotten or lost cards that never get used that equate
to pure profit. One last advantage is that with the card they have also created a
secondary market for sales by placing the cards in stores like Giant Eagle where
people that wouldn t come into the stores can buy the cards as a gift.
B.What are the advantages of the Starbucks Card to the customers?
The consumer can control their spending with the card. By loading the card with the
amount they allocate for coffee they can track their spending more effectively

Examine some of the key principles of the argument for the existence of God based
upon religious experiences
Religious experiences are experiences we have of the divine or God. These
experiences may be Mystical experiences, conversion experiences or revelatory
experiences. Paul Tillich states that religious experience is a feeling of ultimate
concern , a feeling that demands a decisive decision from the one receiving it. He
describes it as an encounter followed by a special understanding of its religious
significance.
The argument for religious experiences is based on 3 premises. Premise one states
that the experience of X indicates the reality of X. One problem with this premise is
that the experience of X does not always indicate ... Show more content on

The problems with premise three can also be highlighted by looking at the religious
experience of Mosses when he saw God in the burning bush. When God came to
him, Mosses had just killed a man and run away into the desert. Therefore he could
be experiencing extreme guilt which could cause him to have an illusion. Also if he
is in the desert then he was most likely dehydrated which again could cause an
illusion. Therefore other factors may be used to explain religious experiences.
Another example to support premise three, and one that addresses the problem of the
subjective nature of religious experiences, is corporate religious experiences. This is
when large numbers of people all have the same religious experience at the same time.
The fact that they are experienced by many leads to the fact that they can be
objectively tested and the accounts validated adding further support for the argument.
Those that argue that religious experiences are proof of the existence of God usually
argue inductively. This means that they look at the subjective testimonies of
individuals who claim to have had religious experiences in order to find similar
characteristics and then draw the general conclusion that the experiences can only be
explained in terms of the existence of God. For example Swinburne argued
inductively supporting
Essay on Emerson And Thoreau
amp;#8220;Dance to the beat of your own drummer: ; A piece of advice that I have
been told my whole life, and have tried my hardest to follow. The words were taken

companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. ;
Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreauchanged our lives. How? Well, the
answer is not so simple as the statement. To understand fully how they affected our
lives, we have to understand the philosophy of Emerson and Thoreau, and the
relationship between the two. So let amp;#8217;s begin with the relationship between
Emerson and Thoreau.

Many people claim that Thoreau amp;#8217;s ideas were simply taken from
Emerson amp;#8217;s, in fact, some critics call Thoreau Emerson amp;#8217;s miror.
And although their philosophies greatly reflected one another, they differed in many
ways as well.
Emerson amp;#8217;s writing focused on nonconformity and individuality. In his
essay quot;Self Reliance, quot; he wrote, quot;Nothing is at last sacred but the
integrity of your own mind, quot; and, quot;Whoso would be a man, must be a
nonconformist. quot;
Emerson writings were also more focused on the self; philosophy of humanism and
Independence from society are all things that Emerson wrote on frequently. Thoreau,
while focusing on matters of the self in many of his essays, tended to have more of a
political overtone to his writing.
In amp;#8220;Civil Disobedience ;, Thoreau amp;#8217;s most famous social
protest, He explains that it is our civil right to disagree with laws. He believed that
people must be free to act according to their own idea of right and wrong, without
government interference. In quot;Civil Disobedience quot;, he said that people
should refuse to obey any law they believe is unjust. Thoreau practiced this type of
passive resistance when, in 1846, he refused to pay poll taxes. He did so to express
his opposition to the Mexican War. Thoreau spent one night in jail for his refusal.
Who Was The Most Responsible For Macbeth s Downfall
In 1603, William Shakespeare wrote a tragedy that took place in 1066, called
Macbeth. A tragedy is when a good man brings about his own downfall due to a
tragic flaw. The play is about an ambitious man, willing to do anything to get to the
top. This man goes by the name of Macbeth. Macbeth comes up with the idea to kill
the King with the help of some people. The witches were the first people to plant the
idea of becoming king in his mind and Lady Macbethmanipulates Macbeth into
killing Duncan. Although Lady Macbeth and the Witches played a huge part in
Macbeth s downfall, Macbeth was the one in the end who gave the orders to kill the
people and is the most responsible for his downfall. Some character that caused the

Bridge have been making their way around the city of Sylvania for years, being

inconspicuous but with some digging, it is revealed that this bridge has many
stories attached to it. The bridge itself was built in 1923, and is located on Gibbs Road

According to the story, there was a nasty car accident that occurred on the bridge
during that time in which some local students were killed. Now it is said that those
who lost their lives in that horrific crash haunt the bridge, if you visit the bridge at
night the sounds of screeching tires, breaking glass, and oddly enough laughter
can be heard. Also, dark, shadowy figures are said to chase people off the bridge if
they walk across it. Another quite popular legend that is often told is called
Xanadu. This story claims that a young man was decapitated by two of his friends
who attempted to play a prank on him. The young man s friends strung fishing line
across the bridge and waited for the man on the motorcycle to cross. His body
ended up crossing the bridge, but his head did not. He was decapitated by the
fishing line and is now said to haunt the bridge. In keeping with the legend if the
participant goes to the bridge at night and flashes their headlights three times a
motorcycle headlight will appear out of nowhere as well as the sounds of a
motorcycle followed by a man screaming. Many other stories are told about the
bridge, including; a girl hanging herself due to an unrequited love, a young girl
getting hit by a car, an angry farmer chasing people off the bridge with his truck or
shooting at them, and like any good haunted location the bridge is a popular site

Standard Scores
2. What is a standard score?
A standard score is a scores that enables us to refer to the performance of an
individual pupil in relation to the whole population where the mean is 100 and the
standard deviation is usually 15. It also allows schools to base their assessments
per school year. This is due to standarised scores taking into account the age of the
pupil. A pupil in year 9 that has a date of birth of September would generally be
expected to get a higher raw score than a pupil born in July, both pupils being in the
same academic year. However, when calculating the standard scorethe age will be
taken into account. This ensures that relevant interventions/arrangements can be put
in place for pupils based on the standard score.

One standard deviation is usually represented by 15 points from the mean. 2 standard
deviations are calculated usually by 30 points from the mean.
One standard deviation away from the mean in either direction represents around 68%

represent 95% of the population.
8. What is reliability? What reliability should we choose when selecting a test?
Reliability of a test is measured by how accurate and consistent that test is when
measuring a target skill. For a test to be reliable it must have reliability of 0.8 or
over. A reliable test should give us a consistent score every time it is completed,
i.e. if it a pupil was to complete the same test that was delivered by 2 different
assessors on 2 different days, a reliable test should still give us the same outcome on
both tests on both days.
9. What is validity? Name and describe the three mains types of validity.

Greek Art Period and Comparison of Kroisos from,
Anavysos...
Greek art took many ideas from Egypt and Mesopotamia however as the years
passed they started to develop and create their own unique style. This style was
more realistic and natural visually. One of their goals was for the viewer to believe
they are seeing a moment standing still in time. You can see this when you
compare Kroisos from, Anavysos Greece, and Doryphorus from Pompeii, Italy.
These pieces are roughly dated 80 years apart however the difference between the
two forms are so remarkable. This paper will be discussing and addressing the
evolution of a more naturalistic art form, from the statue of Kroisos compared to
the statue of Doryphorus during the Greek art period. At a first glance of the
statues you may not see the dramatic differences between the two however they
were both approached in different ways to be created. They have different
meanings yet both were created to be more naturalistic than what came before it.
In Anavysos, Greece a statue of a Kouros was discovered dedicated to Kroisos.
Kouros statues were male figures also known as youths that were erected on graves
as a gift for the gods and as a marker for these graves. None of the statues were
identical however you could see that the all had the same base image to be formed
from. This particular one was in honor of Kroisos who died a very noble death in
battle in the front lines so his family erected this statue. This piece is dated circa
530BCE and is 6 4 high carved from marble. This

The city of Ancient Rome was a major center for the regional and international
trade of goods. Rome was colonized in the 8th century BC that expanded and soon
became one of the largest empires during the time and is still one of the most
famous cities in the world. In the beginning, the empire was only a small town
located on the Timber River, which was used for trade. Over time, the city
expanded over most of the territory around the Mediterranean Sea and was made up
of more than one million people and grew into a trading post. By being centrally
located in the middle of Italy, the empire had the ability to build from the Atlantic

Trade was a vital aspect of life in Ancient Rome, and to trade, there is a need to
produce your products. Agriculture was an essential part of the trade industry
because the wealthy owned large portions of land to accommodate for their needs
and the city required a surplus of goods and food supply to compensate for the
steadily growing city and military. The expanding city allowed for more territory to
be taken across the region and allowed for more farmland that could be used to help
produce things like cereals, wine, and olives, and contribute to paying for the urban
growth. The production industry also allowed for more jobs to be provided and
continued the social class structure, while investing into the commercial industry
during the period. By having self sufficient agriculture played a significant role in the
region s developments, capitalism, labor, cultivation, and breeding, which all
encouraged trade.
As most of the world at this time used water sources as the primary form of trade
routes, Ancient Rome was celebrated for the vast system of roads, which allowed
for worldly products from far off places to be continually exchanged amongst
nearby regions. Due to the placement of the city, with its central location and close
access to waterways, they could receive resources from all areas of the world in an
easy and affordable way. By road access, there were always possible routes for trade

love through technology and then the electronic companies flourish due to the
sale and popularity of these electronic devices. If a person wants to listen to music
they can turn on a stereo or TV, choose a CD or DVD to play, or listen to a songs
downloaded in ITunes. All of these devices are proof to show how technology is
used to record, play, and change the way music is heard. A look through history will
show how far society has come in music alone. The development of technology has
changed the way the music industryoperates and the way society hears and purchases
music today.
It started off with humming, then singing. People sang in church choirs, in the ...

Edison believed that the phonograph would have a positive effect on business,
culture, and education. Out of the invention of the phonograph, three distinct
qualities were discovered of recorded music: portability, affordability, and
repeatability. Thanks to the phonograph and its portability, Americans could hear
the classics through recordings since professional musicians never ventured to the
rural areas. Portability would have meant nothing if not for its affordability. In
1890 the cost of the phonograph was $40, and by the 1900 s it was reduced down
to five dollars. Poor blacks could also afford the phonograph, and in their minds it
was a way to try and achieve equalities among whites by listening and learning their
culture. Repeatability was believed to serve two main functions: to single out the
good music versus the bad and to help listeners to appreciate the art of the classics.
Due to the fact that recording music had a maximum of three to four minutes,
musicians had to drastically cut the time of their music to make more money. The
phonograph was later called a gramophone and then it was known as the wax
cylinder. The phonograph went out of style when the FM radio was invented and
spread throughout American homes.
In 1933, what thought to be just a dream, became a reality. Edwin Armstrong
invented the
Homecoming Parade Float
The idea of doing a float for the homecoming parade as a way of demonstrating
already known leadership and technical skills in conjunction with using the
leadership skills and techniques that we have learned over the last weeks was a
great idea. Not only was this classroom knowledge that was learned but it was also
applied and showed how we as individuals could use this knowledge on such
projects as a parade float or on other projects that we might have in the future. For
most classes all the educationis applying and testing book smarts and not digging
into any street smarts at all and with this project it did the exact opposite and
allowed people to truly show their places when it comes to completing a project from
coming up with an idea, to creating a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought it would be a float that would be pretty easy to put together and simple
but as we dove into it I realized that wasn t the case and required a lot more work
than what originally thought. Throughout the process of the float from start to
finish I felt I was an active participant from helping in class, after class by helping
build and gather materials, participating in the parade and helping tear down the
float in order to return the trailer. I felt I helped out quite a bit in all these phases
from thinking of ideas when we were in the design phase, thinking of supplies and
making a list when we were trying to figure out what we needed to build the ship,
helping build the ship from the frame to putting cardboard on the plywood and
standing the mass, to at the end participating in the homecoming parade holding
the flag on the back of the ship to helping tear it apart at the end. Although I felt like
I was an active participant I didn t feel like everyone played a major role or pulled
their weight in the whole process. I feel like some people helped in some parts and
then coasted in
Strength In My Writing
One strength in my writing is research support because it proves to the reader that
you can
back up statements with accurate facts. Another strength is memorable conclusions
because I
restate my thesis in a similar way and leave the reader with something to ponder
about. Good
vocabulary is displayed in my paper because it is better to keep the reader interested in
the paper
and to demonstrate variety of vocabulary words. My body paragraphs prepares the
reader to stay
engaged in the writing and as well provides them what to look for just from the thesis
statement.
Overall, to improve my current strengths is to continue to write my paper down
before typing it
and do more essays.
A weakness in my writing is
The Legend Of The Magician
Merlin the Magician in an important fictional character throughout legends and
history. He is known as a powerful sorcerer and a mentor for the future King Arthur.
His magical abilities include shapeshifting, spells, and foresight.
According to legend, Merlin was born during the rule of King Vortigern, a 5th
century warlord, in Carmarthen, Wales. He was given the name Myrddin Emrys, or
Ambrosius, by his mother, the princess of Dyfed, whose father was a sub king (King
s second in command). Merlin isn t just a character from the Arthurian Legends,
Writer Geoffrey of Monmouth is credited with creating Merlin in his 1136 A.D.
work, Historia Regum Britanniae The History of Kings of Britain. While a large
portion of Historia Regum Britanniae is a historical account of former kings of
Britain, Merlin was included as a fictional character (although it is likely that
Geoffrey intended for readers to believe he was a figure extracted from long lost
ancient texts). (Ancient Origins, The legendary Origins of Merlin the Magician) This
places his first appearance in the early 10th century, since then Merlin has been in
several different stories other than the Legend of King Arthur.
Merlin was derived from several different people scattered through history and
legend. These include the Myrddin Wyllt, a madman, Romano, a British war leader,
and trickster Ambrosius Aurelianus, for who Merlin was named. There are three
people who share the exact same story. They were the welsh Myrddin,
Mackie s International Marketing Strategy
The Possibilities of Expanding the Business into New Overseas Markets
As international marketing consultant of Mackie s of Scotland, the ice cream maker,
it is my duty to consider the possibilities of expanding the business into new overseas
markets, successfully. The Scottish ice cream market will be researched thoroughly.
The UK target market of
Mackie s will be analysed. Finally a suitable country will be chosen to market the
product to. The countries that will be selected from will be Saudi Arabia, Germany
or Ireland.
The UK ice cream market is estimated to be worth ВЈ1.25 billion.
Mackie s of Scotland have been making ice cream in Aberdeenshire since the 1960 s,
although they have been farming since before the turn of ... Show more content on

Organic Strawberry is available in only 500ml tubs and is packaged with red orange
and black colours. Organic ice cream costs roughly ВЈ2.99 for a 1 litre tub. Other
flavours are cheaper at about
ВЈ2.40 for a litre tub.
Mackie s would want to expand internationally for a number of reasons.
The UK market is relatively congested with a number of different companies
competing for the highest share of the market. Wall s ice cream is the branded
leader in every segment in the market. They have been producing ice cream for 38
years longer than Mackie s, and therefore have been able to firmly establish
themselves as the UK s favourite ice cream company, as well as in other developed
and developing countries. Wall s has a share of 31% of the UK ice cream market.
Hagen Dazs controls 19% of the market. Ben and Jerry s have
15% of the market. Mackie s, as previously mentioned controls a respectable 11% of
the market. Mars Ice Cream has 7% of the market.
Tonitto has 4% of the market and other ice cream manufacturers make up
13 % of the market. Mackie s have to look to foreign markets that have not been as
clinically tapped as the UK. Countries where the ice cream market has not been fully
realised, are the same countries that budding ice cream companies like Mackie s can
expose, exploit and profiteer in. Reasons to expand into foreign markets would
include the rapid boom in technology which means that communication over long
distances is no longer a

  • 1. Essay On Disrespect Crafting an essay on the subject of disrespect can be a challenging endeavor, as it necessitates a delicate balance between expressing one's opinions and maintaining a coherent and respectful tone. The difficulty lies in addressing the topic with the seriousness it deserves without succumbing to a tone that might inadvertently contribute to the very disrespect being discussed. To begin with, defining disrespect and its various manifestations requires a nuanced exploration of cultural, societal, and personal perspectives. This demands extensive research to understand the historical context, societal norms, and psychological factors that contribute to disrespectful behavior. Juggling these different facets while maintaining a clear and organized structure poses a significant challenge. Moreover, tackling the emotional aspect of disrespect is another hurdle. Writing about the impact of disrespect on individuals and communities involves navigating sensitive topics that may elicit strong reactions from readers. Striking the right balance between empathy and objectivity is crucial, but it's no small feat to convey the gravity of disrespect without resorting to inflammatory language or biased viewpoints. Additionally, considering the evolving nature of language and social dynamics, staying current with the latest trends in disrespectful behavior adds another layer of complexity to the essay. Addressing contemporary examples and issues related to disrespect requires constant vigilance and up-to-date information. In conclusion, writing an essay on disrespect is a formidable task that demands a thoughtful and thorough exploration of the topic. It requires the writer to navigate a minefield of potential pitfalls while maintaining a tone that fosters understanding rather than perpetuating the negativity associated with disrespect. Although did you ever think that once their professionals things are different? Take in consideration how coaches or their team looks after a player protest. It looks horrific but as a free country the people are titled to their own opinion. Overall, professional athletes should be able to protest against current events in the world even with their athletic status. Many professional sports figures have taken a stand to end racial, class and violence no matter the given consequence after. For example, there was a time when National Football League (NFL) quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem. By protesting the national anthem, they are protesting America. The quote is from a writer who seen the (NFL) quarterback Colin Kaepernick refuse to stand for the national anthem. At the time this took place there was discussion about race, class and violence not to add that it was election year. However, athletes don t only protest against political or racial events. The National Basketball Association (NBA) had Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul take stage and talk to some fellow kids. • 3. Team Gemstone Research Paper Team Gemstone was a great experience for me. I thoroughly enjoy my time in the challenge/adventure course. First, we split off into our teams and completed different team building activities. My team, team WALK, completed the lava challenge. We were given eight wooden blocks and had to get our entire team to the opposite side with out touching the ground or leaving blocks unattended. Overall, we completed the challenge successfully and felt good about our teamwork experience. Next, we moved onto the ropes tower. Here, we had the option of climbing to the top of the tower while attached to a harness and rope. This was also a fun experience for me, and hopefully everyone else involved. My favorite component of the experience was the team activities.

How would you be able to communicate and understand their way of life? This was one of the main struggles for Cabeza and his crew throughout his entire journey. More complex relationships among power, influence tactics and influential outcomes do exist. (Wisecarver, Schneider, Foldes, Cullen, 2011) Hard influence tactics such as pressure, coalitions, and legitimating are more likely to result in compliance. On the other hand, softer tactics such as rational persuasion, inspirational appeals, and consultation result in more people joining the military. These tactics are also more effective at influencing others. Researchers suggest that using multiple influence tactics can be useful, but have not yet delineated the best approaches. • 6. Hopelessness Theory Of Depression Hopelessness Theory of Depression. The hopelessness theory of depression (Abramson et al., 1989), which is a based on the reformulated theory of helplessness and depression (Abramson, Seligman, Teasdale, 1978), provides a conceptualization for the underlying vulnerability in the proposed integrative biopsychosocial etiological model discussed in this review. The hopelessness theory of depression is a cognitive diathesis stress model that outlines a series of three cognitive inference tendencies that interact with each other and negative life events to contribute to the etiology of MDD (Abramson et al., 1989). These three cognitive inference tendencies include: (1) inferring stable and global causes for the event, (2) inferring negative consequences of the event, and (3) inferring negative self characteristics as a result of the event (Abramson et al., 1989). The hopelessness theory of depression hypothesized that the depressogenic inferential style was one that included all three of the cognitive inference tendencies (Abramson et al., 1989). Furthermore, the theory posited that the objective severity of the negative event required to result in an episode of MDD was inversely proportional to level of the depressogenic inferential style, such that the higher the cognitive vulnerability, the lower the objective severity of the triggering life event, and vice versa (Abramson et al., 1989). The cognitive diathesis stress model of the hopeless theory of depression has been

Unsustainable logging, haze pollution, and the illegal wildlife trade are but a few of the crises facing the biodiverse region. Although formed to promote cooperation between member states, ASEAN s ability to effectively coordinate member states to manage these urgent problems has been called into question (Leviter, 2010). The main rationale for open science is that the sharing of information will increase transparency in data collection and analysis, communication, and collaboration, thereby increasing education and innovation (OECD, 2015). Open science platforms are becoming more commonplace as digital technologies improve, but there is very little information on: 1. potential successes and pitfalls of open science in the context of conservation, and 2. how these platforms could be modified to suit regional realities and needs, resulting in enhanced engagement by local populations and better informed decision making. Borneo Hub Borneo Hub is an open science platform for transboundary information sharing across the Southeast Asian island of Borneo, which is divided between the nations of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei Darussalam. It makes me angry the way the Negro communities were treated; all they wanted was to have the same rights as white people. It makes me sad because we are in the 21st century and so much racism and injustices still exist. This letter reminds me of the way certain people feel about illegal immigrants. I am not condoning the way they come in the U.S, but I do know that they come here for a better future. Imagery in Frost s Acquainted with the Night and Sexton s Her Kind In order to maximize meaning and overall total effect of a piece of work, writers use various literary devices. These techniques enhance the author s work and add a dimension that results in higher reader satisfaction. Throughout the poems I have read this quarter thus far, I have discovered the use of imagery as a prominent source of literary embellishment. In particular the image of night is used in poems Acquainted with the Night, written by Robert Frost, and Her Kind, written by Anne Sexton, to portray a dark and lonely tone. All through both poems there is a dark feeling due to word selection and associations to evil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the poem Her Kind, by Anne Sexton, the same feeling of loneliness is achieved through association with the night. The image of night has the same quality of being rejected by society, and outcast because of the disconnection with people. Night is seen by the world as a time to sleep and be within ones own thoughts and dreams. For the speaker to be up and about signifies that she is alone while the world sleeps. Therefore she must be lonely. Using night as the setting but not totally describing every little detail, creates a sense of unknown. The witch in this case is spooky and misunderstood and is unable to participate in daily activities so she must take shelter of the night in order to do her evil business. Night allows the concept of a witch to take its full affect. Witches are almost always associated with the night. Especially when it is a wicked witch. Witches are ugly so they must travel at night

Genie learnt lots of words, but because she was cognitively deficient, she was unable to make up sentences, and didn t have any sense of grammar. On Genie s 18th Birthday, she moved back in with her mother, in the house that she was isolated and neglected in. But after only a few weeks, it became clear that her mother could not cope. Therefore, Genie was moved into state care, with terrible consequences. Those consequences were that Genie was moved from house to house, who were mainly the therapists she worked with, and then she deteriorated. Researchers were therefore, left to wonder whether she had suffered from cognitive deficits, caused by being born with some degree of mental retardation, or if it was caused by years of
  • 14. Theoretical Perspective Analysis Theoretical perspectives are important to understand in order to understand different people s beliefs regarding how they perceive the world. The Functionalist perspective speaks about how society maintains stability through interconnected parts. The Conflict perspective looks at the current way the world looks, and looks to see if power and resources are distributed properly. On the other hand, the Feminist perspective looks at the role that genderplays in our society, and fights for equality between men and women. Lastly, the Internationalist perspective works to understand society as one unit. Personally, the theoretical perspective that I support of these four would be the Feminist perspective. I favour this perspective because it

Designed originally to bring a experienced Mexican agricultural laborers to harvest sugar beets in Stockton, California, but soon spread to most of the United States and to the railroad industry. Although the railroad program ended in 1945, after World War II the agricultural program continued until 1964. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The United States wielded the power of negotiations with both the Mexican government and the Mexican people. Mexico lost all real bargaining power in the 1950 s. Along with opposition from Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, the United States determined that the program was no longer vital to the American s; it discontinued the program in 1964. Chavez and Huerta fought the program because it undermined American workers and exploited the migrant workers. Nothing says it more obvious than the account from Walt Edwards (as cited in Dillin, 2006), When we caught illegal aliens on farms and ranches, the farmer or rancher would often call and complain [to officials in El Paso]. And depending on how politically connected they were, there would be political intervention. That is how we got into this mess we are in now. (Dillin, John, 2006) By the end of the program, farm labor unions began to form which eventually led to the abolishment of laws stating it was illegal to organize farm labor. This lead the way to the grape strikes in California and the boycotts in stores, lead by Filipino farm workers. After the first strike several various organizations began to form and led similar movements around the country. Through the 1960s to the 1980s, Cesar Chavez was a major inspiration to such movements and organizations. One of the most notable protests was when Chavez and the UFW marched from the Coachella Valley to the Mexican
  • 16. The Education Of The United States Essay The purpose of education in the United States has been designed to meet the changing needs of society, though never quite fast enough to fully reflect those changes. In its early history, American education reinforced the religious doctrines of the Puritan settlers. During the era of our founders, the purpose of educationshifted to crafting democratic citizens. During the Industrial Revolution schoolbecame more about preparing students to be future workers, punching out students on a pedagogical assembly line. Many of these early ideas persist into the 21st century, though there is a greater diversity than ever in educational epistemology. Largely though, the perceived purpose of education in contemporary public schools is to prepare students to become future citizens who participate in the democratic process, to become skilled workers who contribute to the American work force, and/or to help students to become critical thinkers. The purpose of schooling in the United States is and always has been political, and therefore closely intertwined with the values of Capitalism and the American economy. As a result, the prevailing philosophies of education have been reactionary and not progressive. To fully prepare students for a future we cannot foresee, education must break beyond these limited boundaries. The swift progression of technology over the past century has proven that we cannot simply teach students a set of skills to prepare them for what lies ahead. In The

There are several alien objects around the main group, which some of them are really tiny but still are painted precisely. There is a transparent object in between the middle ground and the background on the left hand side of the painting. The whole shape blends into the background because of its transparency. Also it is because there is not enough light shinning to the object to make it easily visible. One of the interesting about the painting is there are two super tiny spots near the transparent object. They are painted clearly and you can see them only on closer

Making the monster feel isolated and hated, causing him to seek vengeance over his creator. The monster therefore becomes Frankenstein s shadow. Initially, the monster was not filled with the hate and rage that he would exhibit later in the movie. It was in many ways a helpless baby, only wanting someone to love him and teach him. However, Victor Frankenstein was so afraid of him, as were the townspeople, that he did not get this love or education. The monster was forced to defend himself from the start. Dr. Frankenstein s creation was looked at by the village as a feared and hated
  • 23. The Testing Of Salivary Biomarkers Introduction: Although the testing of salivary biomarkers has yet to take hold in clinical settings, the research surrounding this science is promising. Ideally, in the future, patients will be able to submit saliva samples to their doctor or dentist to be tested for a variety of conditions which can be detected based on particular proteins or enzymes, et cetera. The hope is that these tests could lead to early disease detection and treatment. In this report, you will find the ways in which saliva can be gathered, as well as the known biomarkers for specific diseases, and the shortcomings and hopes for research in this field. Saliva Composition and Function: In this article, author Karthikeyan Murthykumar discusses the composition of saliva, as well as its ability to protect the mouth, and aid in digestion. The study performed identified the following details regarding saliva composition and function: Saliva is excreted through three different glands: parotid, submandibular, and sublingual. It is comprised of about 99% water, but contains a mixture of ions and proteins, such as sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, magnesium, bicarbonate, phosphate, albumin, and some polypeptides. Before saliva is excreted through the glands, it is isotonic to blood plasma. However, once it exits the ducts of the glands, it is hypotonic. It is this hypotonicity that allows us to perceive flavor, by then mixing with ions and dissolving gustin. Gustin is a salivary protein which

Romeo And Juliet Costume Design Essay Kaitlyn Mabe Professor Cat Gleason Theatre 1100 7 October 2015 Romeo and Juliet Costume Design Romeo and Juliet, one of the most beloved classics in the world, is a story of two young people who fall desperately in love with one another. Unfortunately, their true love for one another proved to be forbidden by both their families. If not for the tragic end, this play may have even been described as a fairy tale. In this production Of Romeo and Juliet, the Missouri Theatre did a magnificent job in recreating the lavishly ornate costumes characteristic of this Renaissance period. From Lady Capulet, to the servants, the eye catching costumes offered a tantalizing depiction of these characters social status. Lady Capulet s costume was the most impressive detailed and beautiful, and represented her character and personality the best. The first character that I analyzed in Romeo and Juliet, was the young Lady Capulet. She is the wife of the sixty year old Lord Capulet, and the mother of the young and beautiful Juliet. Lady Capulet has a rather distant and benign relationship with Juliet, treats her as if she is still a child. Her relationship with Lord Capulet is strained as well, as she makes fun of his age in front of others, disrespects him, and acts as if she has authority over him. In contrast to her husband and daughter, Lady Capulet has a rather close relationship with her nephew, Tybalt. Upon finding out about Tybalt s death, Lady Capulet grieves twice as hard over

  • 26. The Demographic Environment Of Telstra Demographic The Demographic environment relates to the structure of populations (Oxford Dictionaries | English, 2017). The factors that contribute to the demographic environment relevant to this report are location and density of the population. The telecommunications coverage in rural and regional areas in Australia has monopolistic characteristics. Telstra has a competitive advantage over Optus with 99.3% coverage of the population compared to Optus with a 98.5%, this is equivalent to an estimated 192,000 more potential customers. Although Telstra has this competitive advantage they claim that the revenue received from their rural base stations does not cover the cost of development and maintenance.3. The Australian competition and consumer commission commenced an inquiry looking into Telstra s rural monopoly in September 2016(4). They concluded that giving service providers roaming capabilities off the Telstra network may have an adverse effect on price levels and there was no evidence that there would be a decrease in Telstra s pricing through more competition. Currently rural and regional customers benefit from the high competition in metropolitan areas because the industry has consistent Australia wide pricing schedules for their consumer services (5). This demographic macro environmental has given Optus an opportunity to invest in regional areas. Optus chief executive officer Allan Lew recently announced that Optus will invest 1 billion dollars into 500 new base
  • 27. Chest To Glove Theory Pitching mechanics are one of the most controversial and complex things in all of sports. In the roughly 1.5 seconds that it takes for the pitcher to deliver a pitch, the pitcher uses almost every muscle in his body in a variety of ways. That is what makes it so difficult and also why it is so important that it is done correctly. There are many different ways of throwing a ball sixty feet six inches. Two of the main ones are chest to glove, and gloveside disconnect. The chest to glove theory is exactly what it sounds like, the pitchertries to bring his chest to his glove in hopes of getting a further release point. Gloveside disconnect is a little bit more tricky. With this method the pitcher either points his glove towards the catcheror... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of these negatives is that pitchers can lose lots of trunk rotation by trying to bring chest to glove. A quote that supports this is by focusing too much on getting your glove out and bringing your chest forward you often tend to block yourself off (The Importance of Good Glove Arm Action). Blocking off means that the pitcher is not fully able to get over their front foot and is unable to follow through correctly . This causes them to lose trunk rotation which is a very important part of high velocity pitching mechanics (How to efficiently change pitching mechanics). While this seems to contradict that the chest to glove method gives more angular trunk velocity, the two are actually different. The difference is that angular trunk velocity is the speed at which the trunk is moving while trunk rotation is the amount of movement, not necessarily how fast it is going. Another negative is that chest to glove can lead to no follow through. The less trunk rotation there is, the less a pitcher is going to be able to follow through, which is vital to deceleration. Proper deceleration is also extremely important to injury prevention. No follow through will often lead to throwing pitches high, which is not good. Not following through leads to a further back release point. The further back their release point the more likely it becomes that the ball will fly out early. These are the negatives of the chest to glove

A feral child is a human child who has lived isolated from human contact. Most of the time these children will have no experience regarding human care, social niceties, or language. Therefore, most of the time these children will not be able to speak or even stand up straight. They could also be unable to use facilities. Another problem a feral child would face is being unable to learn at a normal speed depending on how long they were isolated this is due to their lack in interest in human activity around them. This also causes these children to not be able to create bonds with other people. With this, these children have little to no morals to keep them in check because they are willing to do most anything to justify what they or someone else does. This is the same way for the island boys because they were on their own on this deserted island with no adults to tell them what to do or what not to do. Theme Of Love In A Rose For Emily And Andre Dubus s Killings Cause of Death: Love William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and Andre Dubus Killings both explore themes of passion, crime, and morality. The violence committed in both stories is deployed with both the threat of love and longing for love. Killings portrays a father s love for his child and the desire to avenge his death. However, the crime he has committed lef to self destruction and some sort of self murder. The characteris an ironic position, since he was confronted with the fervent desire to seek revenge and the guilt that guilt that came with it. Anger and righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for Emily portrays love as the main reason for the crime. In this story, the father suppressed his daughter from seeking a husband, which eventually led to her killing her love to find eternal love. These two stories are the same in some aspect in terms of the theme which revolves around passion and crime. However, the character differs greatly on the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings, the character felt guilt and a sort of self death. The character in A Rose for Emily on the other hand, died with no remorse for what she committed. If a relationship between the two existed then this would be a major break through for the macro management of the economy. The causation for the Phillips theory was that the level of unemployment caused the rate of change in money wages to be what it was. What economic theory lies behind this? As a consequence, aggregate demand would rise through a multiplier effect and unemployment would fall. The inflation controversy Demand Pull or Cost Push? Keynesian economists were divided into two camps. Some believed that inflation was caused by too much demand for goods and services, or excess demand i.e. Demand Pull Inflation. Such economists were very enthusiastic about the Phillips curve because it seemed to provide strong evidence for their views. The second camp of Keynesian economists believed that inflation was caused by cost pressures arising from high wage settlements gained by strong trade unions and from increases in import prices i.e. Cost Push Inflation. They were doubtful about the usefulness of the Phillips curve. On the Nicholas Perry evidence of the Phillips curve they thought that wage inflation and unemployment could be traded off against each other, that policy makers could decide to have a bit less unemployment in exchange for accepting a bit more wage inflation or vice versa. Examine some of the key principles of the argument for the existence of God based upon religious experiences Religious experiences are experiences we have of the divine or God. These experiences may be Mystical experiences, conversion experiences or revelatory experiences. Paul Tillich states that religious experience is a feeling of ultimate concern , a feeling that demands a decisive decision from the one receiving it. The problems with premise three can also be highlighted by looking at the religious experience of Mosses when he saw God in the burning bush. When God came to him, Mosses had just killed a man and run away into the desert. Therefore he could be experiencing extreme guilt which could cause him to have an illusion. Also if he is in the desert then he was most likely dehydrated which again could cause an illusion. Therefore other factors may be used to explain religious experiences. Another example to support premise three, and one that addresses the problem of the subjective nature of religious experiences, is corporate religious experiences. This is when large numbers of people all have the same religious experience at the same time. The fact that they are experienced by many leads to the fact that they can be objectively tested and the accounts validated adding further support for the argument. Those that argue that religious experiences are proof of the existence of God usually argue inductively. This means that they look at the subjective testimonies of individuals who claim to have had religious experiences in order to find similar characteristics and then draw the general conclusion that the experiences can only be explained in terms of the existence of God. For example Swinburne argued inductively supporting

  • 44. Music And Technology Aid A Another Music and technology aid one another. In a way a person can capture music they love through technology and then the electronic companies flourish due to the sale and popularity of these electronic devices. If a person wants to listen to music they can turn on a stereo or TV, choose a CD or DVD to play, or listen to a songs downloaded in ITunes. All of these devices are proof to show how technology is used to record, play, and change the way music is heard. A look through history will show how far society has come in music alone. The development of technology has changed the way the music industryoperates and the way society hears and purchases music today. It started off with humming, then singing. People sang in church choirs, in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edison believed that the phonograph would have a positive effect on business, culture, and education. Out of the invention of the phonograph, three distinct qualities were discovered of recorded music: portability, affordability, and repeatability. Thanks to the phonograph and its portability, Americans could hear the classics through recordings since professional musicians never ventured to the rural areas. Portability would have meant nothing if not for its affordability. In 1890 the cost of the phonograph was $40, and by the 1900 s it was reduced down to five dollars. Poor blacks could also afford the phonograph, and in their minds it was a way to try and achieve equalities among whites by listening and learning their culture. Repeatability was believed to serve two main functions: to single out the good music versus the bad and to help listeners to appreciate the art of the classics. Due to the fact that recording music had a maximum of three to four minutes, musicians had to drastically cut the time of their music to make more money. The phonograph was later called a gramophone and then it was known as the wax cylinder. The phonograph went out of style when the FM radio was invented and spread throughout American homes. In 1933, what thought to be just a dream, became a reality. Edwin Armstrong invented the

Homecoming Parade Float The idea of doing a float for the homecoming parade as a way of demonstrating already known leadership and technical skills in conjunction with using the leadership skills and techniques that we have learned over the last weeks was a great idea. Not only was this classroom knowledge that was learned but it was also applied and showed how we as individuals could use this knowledge on such projects as a parade float or on other projects that we might have in the future. For most classes all the educationis applying and testing book smarts and not digging into any street smarts at all and with this project it did the exact opposite and allowed people to truly show their places when it comes to completing a project from coming up with an idea, to creating a... I thought it would be a float that would be pretty easy to put together and simple but as we dove into it I realized that wasn t the case and required a lot more work than what originally thought. Throughout the process of the float from start to finish I felt I was an active participant from helping in class, after class by helping build and gather materials, participating in the parade and helping tear down the float in order to return the trailer. I felt I helped out quite a bit in all these phases from thinking of ideas when we were in the design phase, thinking of supplies and making a list when we were trying to figure out what we needed to build the ship, helping build the ship from the frame to putting cardboard on the plywood and standing the mass, to at the end participating in the homecoming parade holding the flag on the back of the ship to helping tear it apart at the end. Although I felt like I was an active participant I didn t feel like everyone played a major role or pulled their weight in the whole process. I feel like some people helped in some parts and then coasted in

Another strength is memorable conclusions because I restate my thesis in a similar way and leave the reader with something to ponder about. Good vocabulary is displayed in my paper because it is better to keep the reader interested in the paper and to demonstrate variety of vocabulary words. My body paragraphs prepares the reader to stay engaged in the writing and as well provides them what to look for just from the thesis statement. Overall, to improve my current strengths is to continue to write my paper down before typing it and do more essays. A weakness in my writing is
  • 47. The Legend Of The Magician Merlin the Magician in an important fictional character throughout legends and history. He is known as a powerful sorcerer and a mentor for the future King Arthur. His magical abilities include shapeshifting, spells, and foresight. According to legend, Merlin was born during the rule of King Vortigern, a 5th century warlord, in Carmarthen, Wales. He was given the name Myrddin Emrys, or Ambrosius, by his mother, the princess of Dyfed, whose father was a sub king (King s second in command). Merlin isn t just a character from the Arthurian Legends, Writer Geoffrey of Monmouth is credited with creating Merlin in his 1136 A.D. work, Historia Regum Britanniae The History of Kings of Britain. While a large portion of Historia Regum Britanniae is a historical account of former kings of Britain, Merlin was included as a fictional character (although it is likely that Geoffrey intended for readers to believe he was a figure extracted from long lost ancient texts). (Ancient Origins, The legendary Origins of Merlin the Magician) This places his first appearance in the early 10th century, since then Merlin has been in several different stories other than the Legend of King Arthur. Merlin was derived from several different people scattered through history and legend. These include the Myrddin Wyllt, a madman, Romano, a British war leader, and trickster Ambrosius Aurelianus, for who Merlin was named. There are three people who share the exact same story. They were the welsh Myrddin,

Mackie s International Marketing Strategy The Possibilities of Expanding the Business into New Overseas Markets As international marketing consultant of Mackie s of Scotland, the ice cream maker, it is my duty to consider the possibilities of expanding the business into new overseas markets, successfully. The Scottish ice cream market will be researched thoroughly. The UK target market of Mackie s will be analysed. Finally a suitable country will be chosen to market the product to. The countries that will be selected from will be Saudi Arabia, Germany or Ireland. The UK ice cream market is estimated to be worth ВЈ1.25 billion. Organic Strawberry is available in only 500ml tubs and is packaged with red orange and black colours. Organic ice cream costs roughly ВЈ2.99 for a 1 litre tub. Other flavours are cheaper at about ВЈ2.40 for a litre tub. Mackie s would want to expand internationally for a number of reasons. The UK market is relatively congested with a number of different companies competing for the highest share of the market. Wall s ice cream is the branded leader in every segment in the market. They have been producing ice cream for 38 years longer than Mackie s, and therefore have been able to firmly establish themselves as the UK s favourite ice cream company, as well as in other developed and developing countries. Wall s has a share of 31% of the UK ice cream market. Hagen Dazs controls 19% of the market. Ben and Jerry s have 15% of the market. Mackie s, as previously mentioned controls a respectable 11% of the market. Mars Ice Cream has 7% of the market. Tonitto has 4% of the market and other ice cream manufacturers make up 13 % of the market. Mackie s have to look to foreign markets that have not been as clinically tapped as the UK. Countries where the ice cream market has not been fully realised, are the same countries that budding ice cream companies like Mackie s can expose, exploit and profiteer in. Reasons to expand into foreign markets would include the rapid boom in technology which means that communication over long distances is no longer a
