Essay On Checks And Balances. ECONOMICS 101: CHECKS amp; BALANCES PROJECT
1. Essay On Checks And Balances
Writing an essay on the topic of "Checks and Balances" can present both challenges and
opportunities for exploration. On one hand, the concept itself is integral to the functioning of
democratic systems, providing a rich field for analysis and discussion. However, navigating
through the historical context, the theoretical frameworks, and the practical applications of
checks and balances requires a careful balance.
One difficulty lies in finding the right depth of analysis. It's essential to cover the historical
origins of the concept, its philosophical underpinnings, and its real-world implications. Striking
the right balance between breadth and depth is crucial, as delving too deeply into specific
aspects may lead to an overly specialized essay, while staying too broad might result in a lack of
substance.
Furthermore, synthesizing information from various sources, including political theories,
constitutional texts, and real-world examples, adds another layer of complexity. It requires not
only a thorough understanding of the subject but also the ability to critically evaluate and
connect diverse perspectives.
Additionally, crafting a coherent argument that effectively communicates the importance of
checks and balances in maintaining a healthy political system is a challenge. This involves
structuring the essay logically, supporting claims with evidence, and addressing potential
counterarguments. Ensuring a smooth flow of ideas while maintaining clarity can be demanding.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Checks and Balances" necessitates a careful
blend of historical, theoretical, and practical analysis. The challenge lies in navigating the
intricate details of the concept while maintaining a clear and compelling narrative. However,
with diligent research, thoughtful organization, and a nuanced approach, it is possible to create
an insightful and engaging essay on this crucial aspect of political governance.

there are 400,000 deaths that were caused by diseases that come from Obesity. Ok
now lets start with the diseases that I suffer from, starting with High Blood Pressure
or Hypertension well you see this disease is commonly known widely for the elderly
but Obesity takes a step forward gives it to ya in any age and the risk to develop such
diseases is really high for Obese people than for normal people. You might ask how
does it occur well the heart s job is to pump blood through arteries and veins to help
organs do their job. You see when a person is obese definitely their is alot of fats in
his body so these fats are scattered around the body and the fats that are next to the
arteries apply pressure to the blood flow thus making the heart pump out more
blood and faster which is known as high blood pressure.Second type 2 Diabetes well
I don t really suffer from diabetes but I do have it in my genetics and its present in
my body but in order to have it I have to reach level 7.2

shows that Nisa received the account of not sharing meat as an insult and would

6. Due Diligence in Business Regulation
Due Diligence in Business Regulation
Introduction
Due diligence is an important concept in the realm of business regulation. The law
seeks to govern various aspects of business activity including product quality and
safety, quality of business information and employee safety. In many of such
instances, due diligence may be the single most important as well as the most
challenging defence available to employers against any litigation brought against
them by an employee or any other party.
This paper discusses the concept of due diligence in the regulation of workplace
safety and health by law. The discussion is based on the specific regulation pertaining
to industrial processes. Recent news reports illustrating the need for due diligence are
highlighted. Major challenges encountered by employers in claiming due diligence in
workplace safety and health regulation litigation form the essence of this essay.
Due Diligence in Business
Due diligence refers to the reasonable amount of care that is necessary in business.
Due diligence affects several areas of business activity such as sale transactions,
mergers and acquisitions, product research and risk management. This essay focuses
on a particular area where due diligence is extremely important and directly affects
the safety of employees.
Each organization is required to exercise due diligence to ensure that employees
work in a safe environment that does not put their health or safety in any foreseeable
danger. The issue of due

When a Car is More Than Just a Car The first time I heard the song, Fast Car by
Wyclef Jean, I really liked it because it was catchy. After listening to it a few more
times, I realized there was a lot of meaning to it. To me, the main goal of this song
is to teach the young listeners a difficult lesson to be careful before they do
something that could potentially ruin their lives. Also, Jean is showing his listeners
there is help out there and tomorrow is not promised everybody needs take
advantage of their available resources so they do not harm themselves. Basically,
Jean wants everyone to be careful with the life that they currently have rather than
wasting time here on earth. Jean explains his story by using a type of music that...

The first half is, you don t got to be no billionaire, to get a ticket up to the moon.

Basically, Jean means everybody goes to the moon, or heaven, one day. However,
a person does not have to be rich to take a trip up there. We all know people who
have passed away and gone to heaven; it is never easy to say goodbye to people
who leave Earth. He wants everyone to know that there is plenty of help on Earth.
Jean does not want anybody to mess up their life to the point that it isn t worth it to
fix it. This part of the song has the most symbolic meaning. Cars symbolize the
journey of life from birth to death, just as they help you travel from one place to
another. Jean uses the verses to show literal meanings of why we need to be
careful with cars; he uses the chorus to show the symbolic meaning associated with
fast cars and why they have the ability to be so dangerous. Also, he prefers not to
have any hardships to control his listeners lives either. The verse goes on to say,
...to help you see clearly now. Jean wants to be the helping hand for everybody.
Why die, when you could fix your problems and live as a happy individual? The
whole purpose of the song is to be smart and not let our cars or problems control us.
The bridge of the song emphasizes the dangers of cars. A person might be drinking
or not in the right mental state to drive, however if they pick

There is a cruel contribution to the animal overpopulation of companion pets,
specially the ones living on the streets. People are well known to always be
dissatisfied with their pets for many reasons so it is easy to find animals left in the

This hierarchy is most often displayed as a pyramid. The lowest levels of the
pyramid are made up of the most basic needs, while the more complex needs are
located at the top of the pyramid. Needs at the bottom of the pyramid are basic
physical requirements including the need for food, water, sleep, and warmth. Once
these lower level needs have been met, people can move on to the next level of
needs, which are for safety and security
As people progress up the pyramid, needs become increasingly psychological and
social.
Soon, the need for love, friendship, and intimacy become important. Further up the
pyramid, the need for personal esteem and feelings of accomplishment take priority.
Maslow emphasized the importance of self actualization, which is a process of
growing and developing as a person in order to achieve individual potential.
Types of Needs
Maslow believed that these needs are similar to instincts and play a major role in
motivating behavior. Physiological, security, social, and esteem needs are deficiency
needs (also known as D needs), meaning that these needs arise due to deprivation.
Satisfying these lower level needs is important in order to avoid unpleasant feelings
or consequences. Maslow termed the highest level of the pyramid as growth needs
(also known as being needs or B needs). Growth

Gone With The Wind is classic a 1939 movie about the pre civil war to post civil
war era. It was a major step in the movie industry many people loved what the
movie resembled and how it related to the events that occured during that era. The
movie is famously known for the scene where Rhett tells Scarlet Frankly my dear, I

reveals he has been listening the whole time.
The war quickly follows. Scarlett agrees to marry Charles Hamilton and holds the

informing her of Charles s death in the war. Scarlett travels to Atlanta to stay with
Melanie and her aunt, and while there she meets Rhett again. Now a cynical war

13. Anorexia Essay
The Causes and Effects of Anorexia
When I think of anorexia, a few things come to mind. I think of really bad episodes
of Beverly Hills 90210 and Baywatch in which females, ususally teenagers, starve
themselves and take diet pills. The eating problem is always resolved within the
timespan of one 30 minute episode. From the research I ve done thus far on
anorexia, I now know that this is a very unrealistic representation of what is actually
a very serious disease.
The purpose of this study is twofold. First, I have done extensive research on the
causes and effects of anorexia. Secondly, I will produce a survey that asks basic
questions about anorexia. I will give these to ... Show more content on

Another widespread misconception about the disease of anorexia is that it is a new
disease. Actually, doctors say that anorexia has its roots centuries ago. Through
different time periods, people have fasted for a number of reasons, they say. People
fasted in Biblical times to pay reverence to God or just to exercise self discipline.
Anorexia has been around almost as long as man.(Deth and Vandereycken, 1990)
Basically, anorexia is spread as easily as any other disease. The disease in itself is
not contageous, of course; it is spread through society and the media. For example,
what is known as the quot;Barbie doll syndrome quot; is the main cause of such a
mental disease. People starve themselves so that their bodies will match their
fashion role models. One strong example of this is the quot;waif quot; look that
came into mainstream fashion a few years ago. The quot;in quot; style was to like
like Kate Moss, and girls would do what they had to do to accomplish this
look. Usually, this meant cutting a few meals out of the day.
Fashion, music, movies, television, and radio all contribute to the spread of
anorexia.(Bruch, 1979)
The start of anorexia in a particular patient can be difficult to pinpoint. It tends to
begin during childhood, and it is usually sparked by some sort of change. These
changes can be: going away to camp, switching
14. Factors That Affect Resilience
In my term paper, I would like to talk about Resilience which I believe is a
prerequisite for an effective leader. Life has ups and downs and adversities are
inevitable. Things can beyond our control, it is impossible for us to prevent
unpleasant circumstances from happening. Difficulties and problems come out of
nowhere, the stress and anxiety associated with adversity may knock us down if we
cope with them inadequately. Chronic stress can lead to mental collapse if we still
cannot manage them well, which is definitely undesirable for a leader because it can
affect the cooperation with others as well as the team morale.
First of all, I would like to define what resilience is. Major scholars believe it is the
process to recover from trauma, or the ability to respond to adversity. According to
Sergeant and Laws Chapman (2012), resilience refers to the ability to adapt to
adverse conditions while maintaining a sense of purpose, balance, and positive mental
and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several factors can contribute to and affect resilience, are as follows:
1) Personal attributes
I believe it is one of the major determinants of resilience. Having personal attributes
such as calm, patience and adventurous will facilitate us to become a more resilient
person. We will not become panic stricken and lose control of ourselves when we
encounter adversity. Other positive traits such as cheerful and optimistic can also
conduce to resiliency. It can help us to find positive meanings in our lives despite
adversity. On the contrary, negative traits such as pessimistic, impulsive and
emotionally unstable can affect our resiliency and also our well being.
2) Family cohesion and relationships
It is also a key factor affecting resilience. A positive, supportive and cohesive family
relationship can promote our resiliency. Relatives are the important props to support
us when we are experiencing adversity.
3) External

On page twenty five of Shakespeare s comedic play Merchant of Venice, Portia
demonstrates her dislike of the suitors through dialogue and the ambiguity of her
diction in order to demonstrate her feelings of unhappiness. In Act one Scene two,
Portia discusses her true feelings about the suitors in prose to Nerissa. She begins
by telling Nerissa her true thoughts about the German suitor: When he [the German
suitor] is best he is a little worse than a man, and/ when he is worse he is little better
than a beast (I ii 88 89). Through her dialogue to Nerissa, Portiauses diction to
demonstrate her strong hatred towards the German suitors. By comparing him to a
beast, Portia uses a vulgar metaphor to describe her suitor. The metaphor in her

Also, through dialogue, Portia again demonstrates her dislike towards the German
suitor by saying to Nerissa: I will do/ anything, Nerissa, ere I will be married to a
sponge [before I marry the German suitor] (I ii 98 99). In this way, through her
dialogue, Portia uses a hyperbole in her dialogue to Nerissa to demonstrate that
she strongly dislikes the German suitor. Portia s exaggeration that she would
rather be married to a sponge indirectly shows that she is unhappy with her
restricted love life. Portia wants to marry practically anything before she marries
the German suitor, demonstrating she is unhappy with her suitors and the game
for her love. The dialogue is in prose, suggesting that Portia s remarks about the
suitors such as the German one are too dirty and inelegant to be in verse. This is
supported by her use of phrases such as she would rather be married to a sponge
which seems like a rude things to say to a suitor, but also the rudeness of her words
demonstrate her unhappiness with the fact that she has suitors and cannot choose for

Dynamic Nature of MIS infrastructure

Agile methodology. According to McRoberts (2016), companies are employing new

This option includes infrastructure as a service, software as a service, and platform as
a service. Third, virtualized computing, creating multiple virtual machines on a single
physical machine to maximum its usage.
Many suppliers of cloud computing are working hard on sustainability. For example,
Google data center experiments with different cooling technology and found that
having server rack that is buddied with an air conditioning unit, helps cool down
the servers. Moreover, the cooling mechanism is a series of coils with water. As
hot air rises from the servers, the water absorbed the heat thereby cooling down the
serves. The warm water gets cooled down when it flows outside the data center, and
the cool water flows into the server room to cool down the racks again. Innovation is
prevalent at Google data center, and it aims to reduce carbon offsets.
Amazon is another example powering its data centers with renewable energy, by
buying the energy generated by a wind farm in Indiana, which will generate 500,000
megawatt hours of energy (enough to power over 40,000 homes a year) to run its
current and future Cloud data centers (Cheeseman, 2015). As a third example,
Microsoft and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) partner together on
research to improve facility sustainability by engineering more green technology,
bringing technology, economics and commercialization to create a smart intelligent
energy system to reduce the environmental footprint of data
17. Attitudes Toward Nature In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Mary Shelley exemplifies the Romanticism ideas of the love and reverence for nature
in the excerpt from her novel, Frankenstein. The narrator of the excerpt, Victor
Frankenstein, employs naturalistic imagery, abstract diction, and cumulative
sentences to convey his attitude that nature is rejuvenating and restoring. The
narrator utilizes naturalistic imagery to illustrate his attitude towards nature. As
Frankensteinis travelling through the mountains he describes the scene around him.
He describes the vast mountains and icy wall of the glacier, which creates the image
of the solemn silence of nature. That image provokes the feeling of reverence and
awe for nature because in silence the narrator can take in all the sounds and beauty of
what is around him. Frankenstein then goes on to say how these scenes gave him the
greatest consolation, which reveals his attitude towards nature and how he believes it
is rejuvenating because it is lifting his spirits and comforting him when it is implied
he is upset over something. Furthermore the narrator reflects on all the images he
took in on his day of travelling, the unstained snowy mountaintop, the glittering
pinnacle, the pine woods, the eagle. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abstract diction such as sublime, magnificent, tranquillised, and majestic portrays the
feeling that one cannot fully comprehend or describe nature, but that the mood when
one is surrounded by it is of awe and love for it. The narrator s usage of these abstract
words also highlight his own attitude toward nature. As he gazes on the sublime and
magnificent scenes around him, he is serene and rejuvenated by them, depicting his
attitude of the restorative effects that nature has on people, because one can imply
from the text that the narrator was melancholy over something, but being out in
nature has restored his
18. Three Ohmic Contact Metallization Schemes
Abstract:
Three ohmic contact metallization schemes to n type GaN (n GaN) namely Ti/Al/Ni
/Au, Ti/Al/Mo/Au and Ti/Al/Re/Au are compared with respect to their contact
resistance, root mean square values of surface roughness, annealing temperature and
the mechanism of ohmic contact formation.
Introduction:
Gallium nitride (GaN) is a binary III/V direct bandgap semiconductor with a bandgap
of 3.4 eV commonly used in light emitting diodes since the 1990s. GaN has a low
sensitivity to ionizing radiation which makes it a suitable material for solar panels
on satellites. Various military and space application also benefit from the usage if
this radiation hardened material. Besides the wide bandgap, high breakdown field
and high saturation velocity of GaN make it very promising for high power, high
speed and high temperature electronic devices. GaN devices offer five key
characteristics: high dielectric strength, high operating temperature, high current
density, high speed switching and low on resistance. These characteristics are due to
the properties of GaN, which, compared to silicon, offers ten times higher electrical
breakdown characteristics, three times the bandgap, and exceptional carrier mobility.
Low resistance Ohmic contacts with a smooth morphology, and good edge acuity and
thermal stability are imperative in the successful implementation of all these devices,
particularly high power devices which require high power conversion efficiency and
heat management. The

20. Sports and Pediatric Physiotherapy
For the purpose of this assignment Compare and contrast the role of the
physiotherapist, the skills required and the contemporary challenges faced by
physiotherapists in two different clinical specialities I have chosen the fields of
Sports Physiotherapy and Paediatric Physiotherapy to discuss. These two branches of
physiotherapy use different skills and techniques to help their patients. Paediactric
physiotherapy is the treatment any childhood condition whether acute or chronic
which threatens physical development and therefore may hinder potential in
adulthood . While Sports Physiotherapy is the specialised branch of physiotherapy
which helps deal with injuries and issues related to sports people like muscles, joints
and bones injuries. I will be drawing from clinical examples from my observational
placement in Temple Street Children s Hospital with a Paediatric physiotherapist.
Sports physiotherapists mainly deal with musculoskeletal injuries as many sports
injuries are of this nature. Athletes normally require high level performance and
demand is placed upon their body, which stresses their muscles, joints and bones to
the limit. Sports physiotherapists help athletes to recover from sporting injuries, and
provide education and resources to prevent problems . They work directly with
clients to help relieve pain caused by fractures, muscular sprains and broken bones,
which are sustained during sports and exercise. They also focus on preventing sport
related injuries.
21. Strategy Change at Minnesota Bio Labs
Abstract Organizational change occurs when a company makes a transition from its
current state to some desired future state. Managing organizational change is the
process of planning and implementing change in organizations in such a way as to
minimize employee resistance and cost to the organization while simultaneously
maximizing the effectiveness of the change effort. This paper will present a case
study of Minnesota Biolabs, a company that supplied rabbits to the producers of
injectable devices and their move from injectable rabbits to SepsisDetection Test
(SDT). Instead of conducting tests in live rabbits, SDT used blood extracted from
horseshoe crabs for the tests. After extraction, the crabs were returned to the ocean

That general manager was typically left alone to operate his or her unit autonomously.
Corporate headquarters set annual growth goals for the units and measured their
profit and loss. As long as the units performed according to those goals, the managers
were paid a bonus and mostly left alone. Strategies, product decisions, and
acquisitions were determined by corporate executives in the States and communicated
to these country managers. MB s CEO frequently said that he liked this approach to
management because it delineated clear lines of authority and responsibility. Country
managers also preferred this autonomy. They were allowed, they believed, to decide
on local strategies that best served their customers while maintaining good relation
ships with the national regulatory agencies to which they needed to respond. MB s
exceptional history of sustained, profitable growth reinforced the belief of managers
that this was a well designed organization. The Search for an Alternative tests, in the
early years of the 21st century, MB began to look for an alternative method of testing
for sepsis infection in injectable products. As animal rights became increasingly
important, MB sought a methodology that would leave the animals alive. Because
most of MB s growth over its history had come from acquiring other businesses and
integrating their products into the company s offering, that is what MB executives
sought to do now. An opportunity arose when a small, Rhode

MSN Capstone Project Executive Summary Reducing Emergency Department (ED)
Overcrowding Through mHealth (Mobile Health Technology) Introduction The
emergency department in the modern hospital is one of the most complex clinical
settings to operate. According to Johnson, Sensei, Capasso (2012), this department
is an intersection of the diagnosis and treatment of emergency cases. As a result, it
experiences immense volumes of patients every day. However, in most hospitals,
patients visit the facilities with an indication of what they might be suffering from.
Specifically, they use their iPhones to get a list of conditions that they might be
having (Boncana, 2016). This method of detection has come to be known as
mHealth. In this regard, mHealth, rather mobile health, is a method that patients
use to enhance their health and medical practices via the use of mobile technology.
The cell phones used in this approach are equipped with medical/health software, a
personal digital assistant (PDA), and patient monitoring devices. MHealth has been
proved a good measure of reducing overcrowding in the emergency department.
However, some ED nurses and other healthcare workers are still unaware of how
the mHealth operates as well as its benefits. Some of those are found in Mayo Clinic
Health System (MCHS) in Waycross, Georgia. This executive summary will provide
more information to the ED nurses in Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) about
how it helps to reduce ED overcrowding. Further,
23. Reflection Of Melancholic Depersonalization
Melancholic Depersonalization Today begins the same as every day before it. An
alarm going off at six o clock in the morning. The sound of it s violent whispers,
daring me to unlock the heavy coffin that is my eyes. It taunts me, but I realize it is
better than the horrific images of the previous night. As my body remembers the
functions of yesterday I feel the anxiety entering my bloodstream. It starts with my
toes, quickly flowing through me. I can see it now, so similar to the black ink
dropping in the water. Slowly it will consume the water, creeping into the depths
of it s memories. Just as the anxiety will consume me. I realize it is time to cleanse
my body of the dirt covering me. I raise myself from the bed. The air is sharp,
stabbing my throat each time I breathe. I can feel my lungs entering the state of
hypothermia. The combination of the frigid air and the anxiety tear me away from
the grasps of the warm, false comfort I crave. The screams of the alarm echo in my
mind as I look into my peripheral vision. I can hear another familiar voice in the
distance. I fight the urge to look into the abyss. I can feel every vein in my eye
strain as they break. The temptation was too great. I lose the battle. My eyes
reluctantly look into my conflicted reflection, it has caught me. I question myself.
Can the mirror see the emptiness inside of me? Why does it reveal the disgusting
largeness of my body? I panic at the reflection that mimics me. Quickly, I run to a
drawer adjacent from the mirror. I look inside. There it is, the snake that wraps
around my waist strangling my internal organs. I let it slither slowly across my
body. It reads to me the numbers, mocking my inadequacy to be thin. Each digit
another entry wound, my daily dose of poison. I am then released from my
confinement, ready to go the bathroom. I exit my bedroom into the otherworldly
dimension. The darkness surrounds me and I am reminded of everything that lives in
this plane. I enter the bathroom and immediately turn the lights on. Again, the mirror
mocks me. I seek out music to comfort my lack of security. The comfort of hearing
another voice of a human who is feeling emotions that I yearn to feel again. I hear the
sound waves charming my

brings up the free market and asks those reading whether or not the free market is
fair. He asks if we should be able to sell anything we have on our body to sell, or
that we shouldn t due to moral reasons such as selling body parts, or sex. Why is it
that donating a kidney is looked at with with praise while some argue selling your
kidney is seen as morally wrong, Is selling body parts or even sex for payment
unethical or ethical, at what point do we cross the line between immoral and
moral. I agree, though with some reservations. For instance only allow the selling
of certain body parts if the body is born with a pair of it for instance kidneys. Both
kidneys are healthy and you can spare one without damaging your own health. Even
liver transplants won t damage your health as the liver heals fairly quickly and
leaves nothing but a scar, bone marrow transplants are also safe since bone marrow
and liver are regenerative. Selling of body parts would need to be heavily regulated

the role that they, African Americans played in history. The month of February was
chosen to be dedicated to black history month because of Abraham Lincoln and
Fredrick Douglas birthdays. I feel that black history month is a very important time
of the year because we get the chance to learn how poorly and unfairly Africans
were treated by Caucasians. Africans did not have the same rights to education,
voting, health care etc. They were also mistreated by many Caucasians because of
their skin colour. The racism was extremely bad and there was nothing you could do

Elijah McCoy grew up in a huge household, he had a total of 11 siblings! Since his

was raised on a farm and went to school for black children. Can you believe that even
in Canada during the 19th century it was still this segregated? When McCoy was
young he had an interest in mechanics. During his spare time, he often took apart
household items and put them back together. He also fixed many household
appliances and was successful most of the time. In 1847 the McCoy s returned to the
United States (U.S.).McCoy won the credentials of a master in mechanics and

apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, with the support of his parents. The
reason McCoy had to travel halfway around the world to Scotland was because in
Canada and the U.S. they did not offer training at that comparable quality for
Africans. While McCoy was in Scotland, civil war in the U.S. broke out and the
American slaves were free. When McCoy first returned to Michigan he was unable
to find work due to racial barriers. The racial barriers included that no Africans were
allowed to hold a professional position no matter how qualified or skilled they were.
Later on in 1870, McCoy accepted a position as a fireman and oiler for the Michigan
Central Railroad. As a fireman, he
27. The Uses Of Human Biological Remains
The use of human biological remains can tell us quite a lot about how past
civilizations lived. One is able to deduce from the findings whether groups of
people were transient or stationary by examining findings from a midden. Refuse
stashes also tell us much of what a specific group consumes in terms of diet or
housing materials. One is able to discover how long ago an individual lived by using
dating measurements such as radio carbondating or argon dating. The use of human
biological remains is the most beneficial and educational resource for archeologists in
the field and in the laboratory.
There are many ways to determine antiquity with archeological findings that fall
under two main categories, relative dating and absolute dating. Relative dating uses
techniques applied by the archeologists themselves and produce a general
understanding of the age of findings while absolute dating can provide an exact date
the biological remains were alive and uses much more elaborate and in depth
laboratory testing techniques. Absolute dating techniques such as dendrochronology,
radiocarbon dating, and argon dating are the most effective and wide spread methods
for dating human biological remains to provide a detailed analysis of antiquity.
Radiocarbon dating is the most widespread and commonly used technique for dating
human remains in archeology. It is known that all living things contain carbon and
upon death carbon breaks down at a specific and steady rate once. By

things concerning drug use. I think there should be laws against specific drugs
because many abuse them for wrong reasons. Many people are already experiencing
the sting of drug addiction and abuse , while taxpayers are left to foot the bill for
treatment. The United States is made up of three branches of government. They are
legislative, executive, and judicial. Each branch has an important job to do. The
Legislative branch makes the laws, the executive branch carries out laws, and the

29. Diary Of A Mad Black Woman Essay
Afrocentricity is based on the ideology that African Americans need to re assert a
sense of agency in order to achieve sanity. Agency refers to the capacity of
individuals to act independently and make their own choices. Afrocentricity looks
at the history of the agents and the people that they interact with rather than
economic status. This theory is about the black perspective of society opposed to
the white perspective that society has deemed the one and only way to view
things. The afrocentric theory had five characteristics: a phenom must be studied
and analyzed in a relationship in to psychological time and space. Phenomena is
diverse and in motion, so the person must be able to locate and record the
phenomena and where they stand in that process. This theory is a form of cultural
criticism, this allows for intersection of actions and ideas. The theory seeks to
unmask the rhetoric of power and privilege. Lastly, the theory locates the
imaginative structure of a system of economics (Asante, 2009). Diary of a Mad

Remember the Titans is a film from 2000 displaying a true story of a racially
divided football team from the 1970s. The movie highlights the relationships of the
black and white people, and how they learned to interact with each other in a time
when this was not the way of life. It brings up a number of questions throughout, of
what is right and what is wrong, and really challenges the characters, making it a
very interesting movie to watch. I have seen this movie many times, and each time I

The text explains that, They may label each other as enemies, view their own
group as morally superior, draw the boundaries between themselves and their
opponents more firmly, and, under extreme conditions, may come to see the
opposing group as not even human (Baron Branscombe, 2012). I would not say
that the characters in the movie took this idea as far as the text explains, but there
were many examples of this happening. The first example would be between the
coaches. Coach Boone was given Coach Yoast s coaching position, and offers him
an assistant position for the team. Coach Yoast accepts the position, only for his
players, but ensuring that his old assistant gets a job as well. Now that the teams
have integrated, there really is not enough room for all the coaches, and it seems
like each group is looking out for their own. Coach Boone also has his assistant
working with him, so now this makes four different coaches for T.C. William s
football team. With all of this happening the two white coaches and the two black
coaches are not 100% getting along. They do not agree with one another s ideas and
have clear prejudices about one another, displaying the realistic conflict theory. They
all want to be doing the same thing but there were not enough spots, so they think
negatively of each other and often butt heads. This same idea moves onto the
players. Each player, black and white, had their spot on their old team where they

Going to a university where football is taken as serious as it is here at Arizona is
an affair of it s own. Personally, I had only experienced various high school
football games, until September 3rd, 2015 when I decided to attend The
University of Arizona vs. UTSA here at our home stadium. The school spirit, pride
and student section, also known as the ZonaZoo, are all such huge contributions to
the experience itself. Although football games are only one part of the community
here at the U of A, they bring out the comradery in our student body as U of A
students love to watch their school succeed against opponents. The clock struck
3:30pm as I walked into my apartment on Thursday the 3rd after my MIS class. I
proceeded to unlock my bedroom, put my bag down and get into my UA Wildcat
gear in preparation for the first game. My fraternity brothers and I were all meeting
over at our house shortly so we could all walk to the stadium together. I then
proceeded down the elevator, out to Park Avenue, and started my walk to the
house. The minute I stepped outside I overheard a group of girls talking about the
football game. I m so excited to finally get back to the Zoo, one said. Football

32. Comparing The Methods Using Products And Services
M2: Compare the methods used to distribute products and services.
For M2, I will compare the different distribution channel for two different product
which is food and clothing. I will examine how retailer distribute food and clothing
and what s required to ensure the product is at good condition before it reach to
customers.
Food
The distribution of food is different from clothing as suppliers will need to bear in
mind how to appropriately handle food products, example, and health inspection in
storage room to avoid transmissible disease. The food distribution is short to ensure
that the food is fresh and will not go out of date. This is why many food retailer like
Tesco mainly source their product in UK than overseas. Food like fruits are
perishable therefore retailers need to take in consideration to how they will handle
the product, transport they are going to use, preservation of product and how it s
going to be packaged before they sell it to customers. Perishable food like fresh
strawberries or frozen food are both time and temperature sensitive. This is why
business like Tesco usually temperature in their storage room is at optimum
temperature range to maintain quality and freshness of the food like fresh
strawberries.
On the other hand, Tesco also packaged their food like fresh strawberries in a plastic
container to ensure that it s not going to smash. This also enables customers to
purchase the product easier as the fruit is already packaged for them.

reading the articles, each person captured the attention of their audience, with
validating arguments and examples on social and group pressures. In society
today, I see individuals all the time switch their way of thinking, body movements,

Group Minds, The Power of Situations, and Opinions and Social Pressure it forced
me to face a reality that wasn t realized until now. In high school, you don t realize
how much being accepted by your peers is important, a nonentity wants to feel

be damaging to an individual. In Group Minds , Doris Lessing brings forth an issue
of children, teenagers, and adults on a global situation, that will not have a tendency

have a neutral viewpoint on different personalities they may come in company
35. Analysis Of Diction And Figurative Language Hemingway
Alcohol makes the human mind short sighted. I witnessed my own mother attempt
to drink her problems away until I was no longer one of them. She cared more
about her next gulp of the sinful syrup than her children. Alcohol gives us an ego
boost and a feeling that subsides the negative situation we are dealing with, including
sadness. In this passage, Hemingway expresses the pessimistic feel through his
imagery, diction, and figurative language. The diction in this excerpt displays a
monotonous mood through personal point of view. The characters survive in the
ambience of a melancholy moment. The sour smell of drunkenness and bodies
conceives the idea of low spirit the area has. The characters seem to not be able to
escape the drunk

38. Gardening And The Life Cycle Of A Plant
I did my project with Taylor McNeil and we decided to focus our world on
gardening. When we were assigned this project, we brainstormed some different
ideas that our world could revolve around. The first idea that we had was the
season of Fall. We thought that it would be a great idea to revolve our world
around fall because it was the season that we are currently in but then we decided
to do something different. Some of our other ideas included birthdays, recycling,
and gardens. We then narrowed it down between two choices, gardening and
recycling. Both of us are passionate about our environment and so these topics were
extremely intriguing. We then decided that we were the most interested in
gardening and selected it to be our world. Gardening is a pretty broad topic so we
focussed more on the reason behind gardening and the life cycle of a plant. When
looking at all the Common Core Standards there were many standards that could be
incorporated into a lesson about gardening, so many that we chose six of them. The
first one we chose was CCSS.ELA LITERACY.RL.2.1. In this standard, students
would ask and answer questions demonstrating that they understand the text. A way
to incorporate this into a classroom would be to ask students questions, about
gardening and plants, before you read aloud a book about gardens to them. Instead of
having the students answer the questions right away, have them think about these
questions while you read aloud the book. After you finish reading
39. School Of Choice Is The Most Important For Children
Education
School of choice is the most important to children education. School of choice may
mean better education, environment, and quality of teachers. However, some parents
have time to drive their children to a better school district based on where the
children parent s employer is located or educational institution on the parents morning
commute. The environment plays a key role in children education. Therefore, all
parents want their children in a clean and healthy environment far as the classrooms,
lunchroom, and bathrooms. Some neighborhoods school doesn t provide a clean and
healthy environment for our children.
Therefore, the quality of children education and also being a successful student is
limited at their local school district; where the family weren t able to make the school
of choice. For instances the family that may have a gifted child, is stuck in a poor

40. The Bluest Eye, By Toni Morrison
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, presents the reader with some of the strong racial
imbalances present in the African American communities in the United States. The
novel, The Bluest Eye, addresses many themes such as, feminism, rape culture,
repetition in rupture, abjection, oppression, racism and the innocence of youth
(Morrison 1970). The evident issue in the novel is the way that the African American
people oppress not only themselves but others, to the standards of the white
American standards of things such as beauty. The characters, Pecola and Pauline, are
the major characters in the novel and are, as written by Morrison (1970), the ciphers
of the way African Americans treated each other and themselves in a time of racial
oppression... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the community in which the Breedloves find themselves, light skin is better
and blue eyes makes you beautiful (So also thought and believed by Pecola). In
their society, the Black women who look the most beautiful have an almost white
skin (Inggris 2009:10). According to Inggris, the character Maureen Peel is envied
less for her wealth than for her skin colour. Just as Pecola tries to conform and
assimilates values of self worth from the white world, Pauline receives her education
in self hatred from the films that she watches, where she is introduced to White
physical beauty. Pauline works for the Fishers, a white family, where she adopts their
lifestyle and values because for her they are more meaningful than her
41. The Definition of Success and How to Be Successful
Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as
by the obstacles which he has overcome , Booker T. Washington, spoke that success
is not measured in the riches and status of a person, but by the hard work and
commitment they made to reach their goals while conquering challenges along the
way. Washington states a brilliant point, although there are others who would
disagree, instead viewing materials as a measurement of success. Since when did
success start being acquisitively measured? Modern day society has force fed people
through television, social media, and iconic celebrities that being successful has all to
do with the materialistic items, luxuries, money and fame that a person has. On the...

Through her difficult childhood, Oprah became a courageous woman, who went on
to pursue her dreams by earning herself a scholarship to Tennessee State University.
Her career then started, beginning as a news anchor and now owning her own
television network OWN. She has given back to thousands of people with her
television show The Oprah Winfrey Show and her school for girls in South Africa
Oprah s Leadership Academy. She is an icon to millions of people all over the world
for her generous and philanthropic personality. Life handed Oprah strenuous and
unpleasant obstacles in her early years, but through conquering these obstacles and
dedicating her life to what she believes in, she has become an icon of success.
Another ideal example would be renowned actor, Johnny Depp. Depps is known for
his prosperous acting career starring in award winning movies such as Titanic,
Pirates of the Caribbean, and Sweeney Todd. He holds fame and luxuries most
people can only dream of, but he is not a successful man for being famous, he is
successful for the challenges he has faced and fought on his journey to the big
screen. Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky as the youngest of four children.
To accommodate his father s job as a civil engineer, the family was forced to move
frequently, making a stable childhood for Depp impossible. He became withdrawn
from people and began to experiment with drugs and self harm at 12 years old due to

42. Elderly Driving Test
SHOULD ELDERS HAVE TO TAKE A DRIVING TEST EVERY YEAR?
Elders are great people, but their driving skill may not be too great. Elders should
take a driving test every year, for one reason there would be a decrease in car
accidents. Many people have been killed by the lack of the elderly peoples driving
skills, also because elders should be reminded how to drive because of their fragile
health.
One reason elderly people should have to take a driving test every year is because
there will be a decrease in car accidents, also because there will be less elder related
car accidents. And the elders will be able to learn how to stop elder related car
accidents. Also people will be able to stop elder related car accidents before they even
occur. And fifty eight percent of car accidents are caused by accidents on the road,
and elders taking a driving test every year will help that percentage. Family of elders
want their family to stay safe and will encourage them to learn how to drive better.
And families of elders can help by encouraging people to make a law saying elders
should be required to take a driving test every year. ... Show more content on

One reason people have been accidently killed by elderly people is because elders
get easily distracted by what other drivers are doing. Another reason people have
been killed or injured by elders is that a pedestrian will cross and to think fast the
elder will mistake the gas for the brake. And some elderly people will get too
caught up on what other drivers are doing and pay less attention to what they are
doing. People have also been killed by the elderly because many elders have not
taken a driving test in many years and should be reminded how to drive. Lastly,
driving expectations may have changed from when they have learned how to
43. Personal Finance Midterm Analysis
Personal Finance Midterm
Having financial goals is very important. I personally have three goals that are
important to me. Following a budget is something I want to follow for the rest of
my life. I think it is important to have a budget so you can manage and control the
money you spend. Right now, I don t have very much to budget, but soon I will be
taking loans out for school and hopefully getting a stable job. To complete this goal,
I plan on making a budget each month and stick with it. Another financial goal of
mine is to start an emergency fund. I chose this goal because I think it is important to
be ready for anything. In my case I would want around two thousand dollars in mine.
For this to happen I must budget out money each month and ... Show more content on

I keep track of everything I buy and make sure it is necessary. Something my friend
does is spend less than she earns. I think this strategy is smart because if you
always spend less than you earn you will always have some money left over,
hopefully if I start now by doing this I will have good spending habits down the road.
My ideal job is to become a registered nurse. I like the idea of becoming a nurse
because it means I get to do one of my favorite things which is help people. The
world will always need nurses and doctors so with a nursing degree I will always
have a place to work. A registered nurse makes around 60,000 a year. To achieve
this I, must continue going to school and start focusing on classes that will help me
in this career field. Something else that I want to do is an internship program at a
hospital or something so I can get a feel on what it s like to be an actual nurse.
My credit score is basically none existent right now because I don t have any credit
cards or loans out right now. But in the future, I plan on having good credit for the
rest of my life. I m going to have good credit because I know what needs to be done. I
am going to pay my bills and credit cards on time. Another thing I am going to do
once I get a credit card is keep the balance on it
45. Television And Behavioral Analysis
Television is one of the most widely used forms of communication today; it is used
for broadcast purposes on entertainment, education, and information to people from
all around the world. There are a number of different genres a person can choose to
watch on television, all without taking a step out of their front door. Criminal
televisionshows classify as one of these genres and are one of the most popular. Most
of the time, the production of a criminal television show is where an author examines
an actual past crimeand then uses re enactments to help draw in their audience; some
common ones that are usually heard of, in the United States specifically, are CSI,
Law Order, Criminal Minds, NCIS, etc. As incorporated in the title, Criminal... Show

It is said that the harshness and brutality of this genre is crossing the borderline
and not giving exact reenactments like it s supposedly assumed to. In fact, Georgia
Hakin, in Artifice Magazine, states that, The leader of the FBI s Behavioural
Analysis Unit on Criminal Minds, Jason Gideon, departed the show after season
two for reasons revolving around familiarity of these dark scenarios, a stance
written to appear almost as art imitating life . This actor, Mandy Patinkin, had
complete access to seeing everything layed out before even put behind screen, but
still felt that this show was too dark and he should have taken into more thought on
what he was getting himself into. Instances arising out of this situation were negative
comments on the content that was showed in Criminal Minds specifically; some
people saw it as too harsh and even sick. A few of the substances that these remarks
were made off of were things like rape, abduction, hostage, torture, and the murdering
of victims. The debate at hand is whether or not this material is civilized enough for
watchers to access.
Furthermore, it is pointed out that viewing violence and then later performing violent
behavior has been proven to have a high correlation. In order for people to acquire
a knowledge of aggressive behavior, they have to be exposed to it first. According to
Steven F. Messner on JSTOR, ...residents in communities with high levels of
exposure to television violence might be less likely than those in communities with
lowers levels of exposure to report criminal incidents to the police. From past
researches, it was said that this is because of the possible fear and mistrust which is
connected with television
46. Mrs. Ruble-Personal Narrative
I recently stumbled upon a box while I was rummaging through my closet filled
with at least ten different aprons and folders from baking camps I had done at my
old school. My mind flashed all the way to sixth grade, specifically my English
teacher, and how much I had changed since then. When she walked in with her
long blonde hair tied up nicely in a tight bun with an enthusiastic expression on her
face, I knew this English class was going to be a slow one. Everyday I would
slowly trudge into her class and place my books on the empty desk near the door.
Why was English even a subject? would run through my head at least 20 times per
class. Mrs. Ruble would waltz into class everyday; diet Sunkist in hand, with that

The exhilaration of doing something new was uncharacteristic of me and I loved
every second of it. She smiled and continued icing next to me as we worked together
in silence. The simple repetitive motions of decorating these cupcakes left me with a
sense of accomplishment and contentment. I found it odd that I was having fun
doing something I had convinced myself not to do. Ms. Ruble pushed me out of my
comfort zone with something as simple as a piping bag and dessert. This enthusiastic
English teacher, who had a natural passion for baking, seemed to know exactly what
to do in terms of working with my uncomfortable
47. Fedex Express At The Fedex Corporation
In 1978, the FedEx Corporation sent out its annual report noting that Federal
deregulation, recapitalization, and public offering were credited as the impetus for
record sales and earnings (FedEx Corporation, 1978). At the close of the report, the
chairman of the board credited the employees as the most important factor in such
favorable outcomes. Nearly 40 years later, the message and tone of the FedEx
Corporation (2015a) Annual Report was again boasting a transformative year, and
crediting its employees. But the success of FedEx Corporation, and specifically its
air cargoand freight services (known as FedEx Express), does not rely solely on the
hard work of people. Instead, success is the result of a vision, philosophy, approach,
and perhaps simply some good fortune; all of which can be found in closer look at
the making of FedEx Express.
A Brief History of FedEx Express
In 1965, while attending Yale University as undergraduate student, a young Fred
Smith submitted a term paper detailing his vision of how the economic and
logistical challenges facing delivery of time sensitive shipments could be resolved
using a simple, yet revolutionary, approach (Reichert, 2000). At the time, air freight
was primarily transported via air passenger flights. The thesis was that the problem
was air freight service being an add on to air passenger service, and the solution was
to create an air freight industry (Reichert, 2000). Although it was 50 years ago that
Fred Smith received
