Aim: The aim of the experiment is to show how varying the concentration of sucrose
solution affects osmosis by changing different molar solutions of sucrose and water
and how it affects the potato. Introduction: In this investigation I will be exploring the
effect of varying concentration of sucrose sugar solution on the amount of activity
between the solution and the potatoes.
Osmosis is the movement of water molecules across a partially permeable membrane
from a high water concentration to a low water concentration. Osmosis can be

The potato cells, took in, or gave out the water depending on the concentration of the
solution it is surrounded in.
The results were fine and by looking at the mass measured before the experiment,
you can see that there is no reading which seems to be out of the line. As the weights
before the experiment range between 2.31g and 2.46g, this tells us that the potato
pieces were cut well, and I believe accurate enough.

As the sucrose solution increased, the mass decreased, and as the sucrose solution
decreased, the mass increased
Evaluation: I followed the plan correctly; I believe I gained accurate and sufficient
enough results to conclude the experiment, and to prove my prediction.

Sweatshops were first well known to the public eye when several major corporations
exploitation of workers were revealed during the late twentieth century. Sweatshops
generally are factories that provide workers with socially unacceptable working
conditions, especially dealing with clothing items. With the expanding apparel
industries around the world, more and more corporations are using sweatshop
factories to their advantage. Numerous companies claim that they are not
responsible for actions of those factories from which they purchase from because it
is not part of their corporation. However, action needs to be taken by the government
and individual corporations to improve the working conditions in sweatshop
factories. Due to the harsh working environment, insufficient pay, and other factors
that cause inhumane treatment of workers in sweatshops, the US government
should improve working conditions for workers, have stricter regulations on
sweatshops, and strive to improve the treatment of sweatshop workers across the
globe. Sweatshop proponents argue that even though sweatshops may not provide
the best working conditions for workers, it at least provides a job for those who are
in desperate need of one. In a way, a sweatshop may even benefit the workers. The

Abstract In order to synthesize our metal complexes, we were able to make both
Copper and Ruthenium metals. From this, we combined each metal complex with
DMSO by refluxing the compound. The metal complexes were analyzed through
their melting point and IR spectroscopy to determine whether the metal bonded to a
Sulfur atom or an Oxygen atom of the DMSO. After analyzing the IR spectrum, it was
determined that S=O shifted to a lower wavenumber in CuCl2~2DMSO and that S=O
shifted to a higher wavenumber in RuCl2~4DMSO.

When analyzing the IR spectrum of Ruthenium complex with DMSO, the prominent
peak is presented at 1105.54 cmв€’1. This peak indicates that S=O bonded in
DMSO. For DMSO, the frequency is around 1050 cmв€’1. From our spectra
obtained for DMSO where the S=O peak is at 1017.65 cmв€’1. Since the bond
appears at a higher frequency, this shows that the bond is strengthened by the
reaction. This indicates that when the copper metal was combined with DMSO, it
bonded with the Sulfur atom. Combining ruthenium with sulfur atom caused it to
donate a pi electron as a back donation.
27. Conclusions From both experiments, we were able to detect which Sulfur and
Oxygen atom bonded to the metal. Copper metal was added to DMSO to bond with
the oxygen by weakening the S=O therefore lowering the IR spectrum. As for
Ruthenium metal, it was added to DMSO to bond with the sulfur compound,
strengthening the S=O therefore increasing the IR spectrum. Based on the IR

This paper will expand beyond the typically light and hopeful analysis of the
American dream instead, I will focus on the American reality, or the American dream
as it actually affects our daily lives. In this paper I will analyze the manifestation of
the American dream across the twentieth and into the twenty first century. The
American dream is little more than an American nightmare it is destructive and
consuming. In my exploration of this topic I read four novels, each representing a
different time period in the United States of America. In my first chapter I will
evaluate the usage of the American Dream in Bret Easton Ellis American Psycho, and

Abstract The technique of Collaborative Filtering is especially successful in
generating personalized recommendations. Collaborative Filtering is quickly
becoming a popular technique for reducing information overload, often as a technique
to complement content based information filtering. More than a decade of research
has resulted in numerous algorithms, although no comparison of the different
strategies has been made. In fact, a universally accepted way of evaluating a
Collaborative Filtering algorithm does not exist yet. In this survey, we explain
different techniques found in the literature, and we study the characteristics of each
one, highlighting their principal strengths and weaknesses. This Paper Present a new
user similarity model to improve the recommendation performance to calculate the
similarity of each user. The model not only consider the local context information of
user rating but also the global preferences of user behavior.
