Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Writing Blog" might initially seem like a
straightforward task, considering the abundance of information available online. However,
delving into the intricacies of the topic reveals a myriad of challenges that make the process more
complex than meets the eye.
Firstly, the dynamic nature of the blogging landscape adds an extra layer of difficulty. The
evolving trends, algorithms, and user preferences in the digital realm demand an up-to-date
understanding of the blogging environment. This requires extensive research to grasp the latest
strategies for effective essay writing within a blog context.
Furthermore, the demand for creativity and uniqueness in the blogosphere intensifies the

2. Feminist Literary Criticism By Joanne Rowling
When Joanne Rowling was planning her book publishing, it was suggested to her
that she take on the pen name J.K. Rowling, in order to make sure boys weren t
turned off from reading her books (J.K. Rowling). Later on in her career, she chose
the name Robert Galbraith for a different series of books. When letting her publisher
know it wasn t Robert who wrote the book, but that it was she, he was astonished that
a women wrote the book he just finished (About Roger Galbraith). These are recent
events in our history, and incidents like this are the reason feminist theoryin literary
criticism exists. Feminist literary criticism is defined as, literary analysis that arises
from the viewpoint of feminism, feminist theory and/or feminist politics
(Napikoski). There are a number of aims that feminist literary theory fights for.
One is teaching readers to see things from a woman character s point of view in a
written work, as many readers are not taught inherently how to do so. Another is to
help find lost works that were either not published due to being written by women,
or works that were hidden for years under a male s name, despite having been
authored by women. Still another aim is to expand libraries and school book lists to
include more work written by women (Gillespie). Though feminist literary theory
has been challenged for being political, it is important to follow through with this
work so an accurate version of history is portrayed, and so generations to come will

Consumer perception process
Part 1a
This is about the way consumers perceive a product or a brand. This recognition of a
product or brand is based on two different things: Learning and Perception. These two
phrases mean something completely different, but are in fact closely connected when
it comes to consumer perception.

A recent poll by Vancouver based Ipsos Loyalty has found that nearly half (49%) of
Canadians say they are either strongly or somewhat influenced by brand or product
recommendations made by members of their online social network.
The findings are based on an online survey of 844 Canadians conducted in the first
quarter of 2011.
Not surprisingly, the influence of social network recommendations is significantly
stronger for online Canadians 18 34 (56%) than it is for older online Canadians 55+
(40%).
The study also found that 48% of online Canadians using an online social network
follow or like a minimum of one brand. Nearly 60% of younger Canadians follow at
least one brand and an average of five, while only 30% of older Canadians follow a
brand, and are likely to follow just one.
These results show that social networks influence impressions and ultimately the
bottom line, said Ipsos Loyalty vice president Dave Pierzchala in a release.
Online relationships with brands are also likely to be tenuous, with 28% of
Canadians saying they have unliked or stopped following a brand or company.
Younger Canadians are particularly fickle, with 41% having unliked a company

INTRODUCTION
The following research paper is about how General Motors (GM) new leadership
help bring the company out of bankruptcy and into profitability. This paper will
explore the different styles of leadership of the various CEOs and Executives that
contributed to the restructuring of the organization and brining GM back to
profitability. Can different leadershipstyles affect a organizations revenue?
BACKGROUND/ RESEARCH
In 2009, GM filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was actively seeking financial
assistance from the federal government. The following year it returned with a $4.7B
profit and underwent changes in its corporate governance. The first step was to
replace the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the time, Rick Wagoner, as part
of the bailout deal (King Stoll, 2009). Wagoner was criticized for his stubbornness to
be adaptable in the automotive industry where the market constantly shifts from cars
to trucks. This meant that he was relaxed and did not challenge the changing market,
but instead when along with the market and continued to play along. He was also
ridiculed for not pushing his employees to come up new ideas to challenge the
market. Because of this Wagoner allowed GM to fall into complacency, and
eventually leading to the organizations bankruptcy (Baldoni, 2009). Wagoner s
unwillingness to connect with his employees and unwillingness to challenge the
market lead to the bankruptcy of GM, also his lack of experience in the automotive
industry or

Evaluation Essay
Poetry is not turning loose from emotion, rather it is an escape from emotion. It is
a chance to be out of your body and express feelings from a third person
perspective. Poetry is a surplus of emotion and power that is taken to paper to share
with those who can relate. When you have nothing to say or don t know how to say
it it is poetry. It can be as simple as explaining an ocean set landscape, to as
complicated as explaining how you feel from the inside out. Sylvia Plath effectively
expresses her complicated emotions in a form that is bizarre to some. Leaving the
reader in curiosity, she uses the stroke of a pen to capture the people who can not
capture themselves. Sylvia Plath effectively captivates her readers appeal through her
poetry by using emotional appeal, powerful language, and profound and developing
structure.
Sylvia Plath had a past that represents the type of hell that is unimaginable by a
normal mind. Her birth by the seed of her educated parents was on October 27th,
1932. Her relationship with her father never fully developed as he died when she
was only eight years old from a complication of diabetes. This death confused her
psyche and destroyed her innocence at a young age, further creating a precedent of
insanity and depression. Her creativity and ambition for success started with her
daily journal that she kept from the age of eleven. As she grew to her teenage she
posted her writings in regional magazines and newspapers which
8. Jesus, The Son Of Man
For numerous believers, the question remains curious of why the term Son of Man
was used by Jesus in self representation. Particularly intriguing is Jesus use of this
identification since God s attributes are not fully comprehended in scope or of nature
in their entirety, save what has been revealed to us in Scripture. Therefore it is
humbling to realize that Jesusmakes such a firm association with mankind. Combined
with Jesus humanity there still remains distinctive from His title, the means which
He uses to address (Moule, 1978) Himself.

There is some dispute over the nature of Jesus mission with how (Van Aarde, 2005)
future events would be shaped by Christ.
Scholars have divided themselves into three camps. Some say Jesus was a wisdom
teacher and, according to these scholars understanding 5, it seems that wisdom
excludes an apocalyptic mind set. Others disagree 6. But there is also a third option 7.
According to these scholars, both presence (immanence) and future (eschatology)
exist within the spectrum of Jesus vision. This complexity is interwoven with the
problem pertaining to the continuity and/or discontinuity of the son of man sayings
by Jesus and those by the Jesus groups after his death.
I believe that the Daniel 7 linkage to Jesus use of Son of Man will justify an
apocalyptic inclusion, these facts do not disbar Jesus present or future activities.
Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek?
The case of whether or not Hebrew or Aramaic was used by Jesus in the utterance
of Son of Man is difficult to ascertain since Hebrew was used simultaneously in
worship while Aramaic was used in other daily living areas. Aramaic is considered
the common language evidenced by the findings of documents or fragments which
proved to be items of textual contracts plus other written documents of everyday life.
Consequently, all of these findings have been found to be written
9. Professionalism in Nursing
There are many fields and professions in which professionalism is of the highest
reputation, and nursing is among them. In the area of nursing, there is much
importance to be placed with the improvement of professionalism within the
profession. Nursing is a profession that depends on practitioners to perform in a
way that characterized the goodness of the wider discipline, as all nurses are in a
position of accountability and responsibility. This essay will further look into the
topic of professionalism in nursing, the role of a registered nurse, and having
competence in relation to this role. Furthermore, this will also discuss how a
registered nurse demonstrates professional practice in relation to the New Zealand
Nursing Council (NZNC)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nurses should also ensure that they have the experience, skills, and training needed to
carry out the task that they are expected to implement with evidence based research.
These qualities are included in the second domain which is the management of
nursing care. For example, a nurse should have an understanding of the theoretical
frameworks which shape the nursing over the years. Such as an understanding of
Jean Watson s Theory of Care and its influence on the development of nursing
practice. Furthermore, patients approach nurses due to physical or mental conditions.
Thus, nurses should give the best care to address the needs of the patients. With
effective communication skills and willingness of patient s involvement, this
relationship will continue to nurture with time as long as there is readiness to listen
and harmony from both parties. This relates to the third domain which is
interpersonal relationship. Another factor for being professional is collegiality. This
connects to the fourth domain which is inter professional health care and quality
improvement. Collegiality is the relationship between colleagues who seek the
requirement of respect, mutual trust, and cooperation between team mates (Lorenz,
2013). It is the duty of a nurse to maintain healthy relationships with their team to
ensure the patient s wellbeing. This involves critical teamwork skills particularly
when it comes to referrals,

The district nursing team were now to be responsible for the wound care of an
ulcer on the sole of her right foot on her impending discharge. She had previously

Due to a change in circumstances, she was now clearly housebound for the near
future due to mobility issues. Prior to an arranged visit, the patient had called the
nurse to advise her that she was pyrexial and was experiencing a pain in her right
foot that was different from her normal neuropathic pain, which was often
problematic. She was also finding it difficult to mobilise and was disinclined for
diet but was taking oral fluids. ASSESSMENT The author read Mrs. X s medical
notes prior to their initial consultation to afford herself the knowledge she required

her medical notes that there were a few considerations to take note of before
commencing any treatment, such as her medical history, drug history and allergies.

11. Plato s Theory Of Form
Plato coined the term Socratic questioning to encourage the open discussion of
philosophical theory for the purpose of improving said theory. Aristotle took
advantage of the practice of Socratic questioning to inquire about Plato s theory of
Form and its explanation of causality in comparison to Aristotle s own theories of
causality and being. Aristotlecriticizes Plato s theory of Form because it only
accounted for a one dimensional explanation of what things are made up of and what
identifies them. Aristotle offers his own explanations of causality and being through
his four causes and his categories of being in an attempt to rectify Plato s perceived
failures.
In Metaphysics 1.3 and 1.6 Aristotle criticizes Plato s theory of forms, specifically his
accounts of causality. In order to understand why Aristotle disagrees so
wholeheartedly with Plato s theories it is important to understand Aristotle s own
theories on causality. Aristotle claimed that there were four causes that explain what
something is, what made it exist, and why it exists. The first is the material form
which accounts for the materials a thing is made of, next is the efficient form which
is the force that pushes the thing into existence, the third is the formal form which is
the essence or function of the thing in question, and the last is the final form which is
the purpose for which the thing in question exists. In the example of a house the
material form is the wood, concrete, and insulation that
12. Voting In Canada
Voting on Election Day is a crucial aspect of Canadian democracy and the most
visible way for citizens to participate in Canada. As the most visible way for citizens
to engage in political participation, it can be measured. Official voter turnout in
Canada, is calculated as the number of votes cast divided by the number of registered
voters. Historically, electoral participation was the highest in the general electionof
1958 at approximately 79%. During the 1960s, voter turnout was relatively high
fluctuation between 75% and 79%. ( Estimation, 2012) Since then Canada has seen
an overall decline in voter turnout, now fluctuating between 60% and 65%, only
dipping below 60% for the 2008 general election by two points. (Dyck, 2011, p. 148)

In particular, the disengagement of young Canadians from politics as a whole is
concern as Young Canadians tend not to vote. This makes sense because young
Canadians are typically in a relatively care free stage of life. (CRIC, 2001, p. 20)
Therefore they do not see how elections could affect their interests or lives.
However, the reason of disinterest or lack of motivation is not limited to young
people, but true to people of all ages. In fact, after the 2011 election, a poll revealed
that 30% of participants cited that they were uninterested in voting. ( Federal Election,
2011) Though the older a person is the less likely they are to cite this as the main
reason why they do not vote. This lack of motivation that people have towards
politics is directly related to the lack in interest towards politics. If a person does
not have an interest in something, then they do not go out of their way to seek out
more information about it. Thus do not become educated or realize the importance
of voting to their lives and democracy. This lack of education points to a decline in
the importance that politics plays in people s everyday lives. Canadians have
become complacent, and their complacency leads them to the belief that their vote
will not count towards making a difference. People are more likely to vote if they
believe that their vote counts. (CRIC, 2001, p. 7) However, there are those who
13. Cohabitation With A Community Or Family
Introduction Society is always changing on what should and should not be
accepted in a community or family. However as much as many may disagree on
cohabitation before marriage couples are opting for this option due to many
reasons, for most living with someone before being married gives them the
opportunity to see if they are really willing to spend the rest of their lives with such
person. This will give them the opportunity to learn from each other and if they are
fit in such relationship. In other views we can see that many disagree because they
are disobeying good wish for a couple to be united in marriage. With that they
continue to argue about how this affects relationships and children. Furthermore, I
think that one should be able to decide what is best for oneself and cohabitation
should not be a problem if ones agrees to it. In this paper I will be examining three
different articles on the topic of cohabitation with the information that is provided
by the authors, I will critique their effectiveness in certain areas and see if a reader
is able to attain adequate statist. I will first focus on a website article, As Marriage
and Parenthood Drift Apart, Public is concerned about Social Impact by Cary Funk.
The second that I choose from a magazine article is Unmarried, with Children by
Barbara Kantrowitz from Newsweek. The third and last article that I will review is

I usually don t like to spoon feed my audience, because I grew up idolizing story
tellers who tell stories using symbolism, so it was in my nature to do the same
(The Weeknd, brainyquote.com). Symbolism is a large part of past and current
day writings. Many people look past the pure importance of a symbol whether it s
just one object or a scenery of such things. Some say that symbolism can be
confusing for a reader to begin to dissect, however, I say that Frost and Whitman use
sullen symbolism in multiple ways to convey an emotional, in depth writing style in
order to cast an effect on the reader. Furthermore this helps set up a multi layer poem
with many themes involved. Robert Frost s first poem, The Road Not Taken, is about

With the literary devices he uses, he may actually be talking about the loss of
someone he very much loved, appreciated and admired. Although not everyone can
necessarily relate to this theme, it still applies to the prevailed use of literary
devices to display a theme. The theme presented will resurface in more of his
poems, we will also further discuss this theme used in another one of Whitman s
poems later on. Striking again, Robert Frost isn t only known for using symbolism
in The Road Not Taken, but also in plenty of other poems. In the second poem we
will be dissecting today, symbolism plays big part in the composition. The Red
Wheelbarrow. If any of you have ever seen this poem, most of you know that it is
only a few lines long, not nearly close to the length of other pieces. Along with this
short poem though can come a whirl of many things. For instance, in the first line, he
uses the word depends which makes us think that this wheelbarrow is very important.
So much depends

ABOUT MY RESUME
I have enormous respect for tradition, but occasionally it creates barriers to success.
For example, recapping 20+ years of responsibilities, achievements, purposeful skill
development, and complex contributions in two pages doesn t do justice to recruiters,
hiring managers, employers, or people changing careers. And Applicant Tracking
Systems (ATS) add more restrictions and nuances to the process.
The resume I ve submitted attempts to summarize my most relevant experience based
on the job description, but the chances are good that you ll be looking for things that
didn t make the cut. Rest assured, if it s related to retail, leadership, management,
general business acumen, operations, training, communications, sales, or customer
service, I probably have in depth experience. But even if I don t, I ll figure it out
quickly, guaranteed.
WHY ME?
My resume just covers the highlights.

20. The Benefits of Genetically Modified Crops Essay
For the last several decades, the world has been plagued by widespread starvation and
poverty. Economies are failing in numerous countries, and developing nations
struggle to feed their inhabitants. As a result of the world s mounting overpopulation,
food has become scarce and resources are rapidly dwindling. However, modern
science has provided a solution: agricultural biotechnology. Genetically engineered
crops represent the bright future of agriculture. Crops like cotton, corn, and soybeans
can have genes inserted or deleted into their cell membranes; this modification
facilitates pest and virus resistance, drought tolerance, and even provides nutritional
enhancement. Genetically altered crops produce much higher... Show more content on

However, these risks are purely speculative: 81 separate studies costing
approximately $65 million have been conducted by the European Commission
alone and have shown no evidence of any risk linked to GM foods (1). Indeed, the
U.S. has concluded that the risk of GM crops is minimal. As a result, in the U.S.,
genetically altered crops accounted for 93% of planted soybeans and cotton and
86% of corn in 2009. (2). Considering the success and benefits of GM crops in
America, developing countries have followed suit. In 2009, India planted 84,000
square kilometers of genetically modified cotton, and Brazil planted 214,000
square kilometers of GM soybeans, a 26% increase from the year before (3). Like
the U.S., these countries conducted a risk benefit analysis and concluded that the
economic, health, and food surplus benefits of GM crops offset the unproven risks
(4). Thus, agricultural biotechnology is being implemented in farming techniques
throughout the world. One of the biggest advantages of agricultural biotechnology
lies in its economic efficiency. GM crops are financially beneficial to both the
farmer and the consumer. Due to their resistance to pests, viruses, and adverse
climates, genetically altered crops produce much larger yields than organic or
conventional crops. For example, studies show that if no insecticide is used, a GM
crop known as Bt maize has a 48% higher yield than non modified maize varieties
21. Theories Of Comparative Advantage
1.4.2.2 Comparative Advantage:
Smith s assumption of invisible hands of the market was subjected to criticisms from
the second half of the nineteenth century. Some of the critics were related to the
situation in which two countries might benefit from trade with each other although
one holds an absolute advantage over the other in the production of all goods. The
explanation of this situation became known as the theory of comparative advantage .
According to Ricardo if a country does not have an absolute advantage in any good,
this country and all other countries would benefit from international trade, in which
each country specializes in the production of those goods in which they have the
greatest absolute advantage or the least absolute disadvantage (Husted Melvin, 2007,
pp. 60 61).
1.4.3 Neo classical Theories:
Neo classical theories developed during the second half of the nineteenth century.
According to neo classical economics, there are suggestions that the price of a
commodity is not determined only by the cost of production but also by the utility
obtained by the consumer.

One idea that has received increasing attention by economists is the role of increasing
returns to scale in the production process. When allowing for increasing returns to
scale, firms will have incentives to expand their output. The expansion by some firms
will eventually force others to exit the market, causing the number of firms in the
market to decline. In monopolistic competition, there are many firms, and entry into
the industry is free, unrestricted and each producing a variety of differentiated goods.
So, opening up trade between two countries in monopolistic competition models
results in the decline in the number of firms on the market, while the remaining firms,
and output increases, exploiting economies of scale (Brobely, 2006, pp.
22. Dental Piercings Research Paper
If you are considering getting your tongue or lip pierced, then may have nothing on
your mind other than how great you think it will look. While this piercing may fit
well with your personal style, you need to know how it will affect your dental
health, so you can make an informed decision on whether you feel the health risks
are worth going under the needle. Here are three ways dental piercings can affect
your oral health in a negative fashion.
Oral Piercings Can Cause Irreversible Gum Recession
About 30 percent of people who have one or more oral piercings experience gum
recession, and it can occur as soon as just a few weeks after getting the piercing.

Also, once gum tissue is gone, the only way to replace it is with a gum graft. It

Tongue Jewelry Can Cause Cracks in TeethThat Lead to Cavities
While you may already know that tongue jewelry can lead to cracked or broken
teeth if you bite on it accidentally while eating or take a blow to the face during an
accident that knocks the jewelry into your teeth forcefully, you may not know that
even you take care to avoid any serious accident, just the act of the jewelry moving
around in your mouth on a daily basis can cause tooth fissures, which are tiny
scratches in your tooth enamel.
Since they start so small, you will likely have no idea you are getting these tiny
cracks and scratches until oral bacteria decides they are great places to breed and
cavities begin developing. While cavities can be filled, remember that they are still
permanent tooth damage. The average tooth colored filling only lasts for five to
seven years, so they will need continuous replacement throughout your life due to the
damage caused by your decision to obtain an oral

with reference to three specific examples of terrorist campaigns.
This essay will endeavour to give an historical analysis of contemporary terrorism
and its changing nature by focusing on three specific terrorist campaigns over the last
thirty years. The essay will begin by first presenting a definition of terrorism and will
move on to provide a brief account of the geographical shift in terrorism by
discussing the movement from territorial based terrorism to more ideological focused
campaigns. In addition, it will give a concise discussion on the theory of globalisation

Due to rapid expansions in both transportation and communication technology,
terrorism has become an international threat and is now a serious global risk. Beck
(2002: 9) states that the risk of terrorism exponentially multiply with technological
advancement. With the technologies of the future genetic engineering,
nanotechnology and robotics, we are opening a new Pandoras box . This suggests
that as more sophisticated technology is introduced new terror risks proliferate at an
exceedingly fast pace. For Cronin (2002), international terrorism is not only a
reaction to globalisation; globalisation is also a facilitator of international terrorism;
suggesting that globalisation is a vital component in the structure and mechanisms of
international terrorism. With advances in technology and particularly transportation,
terrorist activity is no longer restricted to particular geographical jurisdictions.
For many academics, a new form of terrorism has emerged over the last thirty years,
not only has the locality of terrorism changed so too has the number of casualties.
Since the late 1960s, the number of casualties at the hands of terrorist attacks has
increased considerably; from 1968 through to 1979 the average amount of casualties

26. The Seven Books in The Chronicles of Narnia
The seven books in The Chronicles of Narnia series contain tales of a fantasy
world with talking mythical animals. Does this fantasy series for children hold a
deeper meaning? The C.S. Lewis series The Chronicles of Narnia may not be a
direct parallel to Christian symbolism, but the stories and characters of Narnia do
contain parallel biblical truths. Lewis The Magicians Nephew and The Lion, The
Witch and The Wardrobeboth hold Christian allegory, revealing a variety of religious
prophecies such as Christ creating earth, Jesus dies for humanity s sins, and
temptation in the world.
In both novels, Aslan represents the figure of Christ. The Magicians Nephew has
Christian parallels, reflecting particular aspects of The Book of Genesis, such as
the creation of earth and Aslan creating Narnia. In The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe, Aslan is a Christ like figure who suffers a death of expiation for
Edmund s sin, and resurrects much like the way of Christ s crucifixion and
resurrection. Not only does the infrastructure of these two novels shed light on
stories from the bible, using characters to do so, the characters themselves also
have similar qualities to the people in the bible they represent. Similar to the
Trinity of the Holy Church, during the series of novels, Lewis writes about the
Emperor Beyond the Sea , Aslan, and Aslan s breath. Aslan s father is known as the
Emperor Beyond the Sea, just as God is Jesus father, as well as Aslan s long warm

External Hiring As I mentioned before, it was part of my strategic plan to promote
from within when plausible. I hired externally for entry level positions and most
mid level positions. I usually promoted internally for upper level jobs, but
occasionally hired externally to acquire employees with a fresh perspective. I
consulted the staffing report to view projected available positions in each level to
determine promo ability. Overall, I hired more external employees because the
majority of the available jobs were in entry level positions. I chose not to hire any
employees in the first quarter because I was not sure of the simulation and used that
quarter to see the difference between projected resignations and actual without
making any decisions. In quarter 6 I chose not to hire for budget reasons. The

Cars
Recently, I gave a research proposal, the main topic of which was the conservation
of natural resources by the introduction of automobiles running not on fossil fuels,
but on electricity. My research will deal with the advantages and working of all
electric vehicles in detail and will justify how they are a lot beneficial and how
they play a great role in reducing the consumption of natural resources and
pollution. One source I am considering for my research is an article titled Building
Better Batteries for Electric Cars by Jim Witkin which was published in The New

verify that it is credible enough to be used in my research.

aspects by citing the quotations of various experts. For example: Compared with the

credibility in my research.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that source is credible, because of an experienced author, a well
known newspaper, recent publishing date and the writing style. But I may also have
to consider other sources mainly because it does not explain all my
29. The Irreversible Rate Of Biodiversity Loss Facing...
The irreversible rate of biodiversity loss facing societies and companies is a key
environmental challenge. Conservation of bio diversity is crucial to ensure the
continuous supply of ecosystem services such as seed dispersal, nutrients product,
waste decomposition and water and nutrients production, which support life and
human activities. Other sectors such as farming, forestry, fisheries and tourism may
be affected by habitat loss and local ecosystems (Pickering and Hill, 2007).
Biodiversity conservation thus ensures the long term sustainability of the sectors.
Activities by some organization can be detrimental to biodiversity. For example, a
mining operation that are situated in areas with crucial species habitats contributes to
diversity loss. The studies by Fisher et al. (2011) have documented the impact of
logging and timber operations on biodiversity. The government should impose
increased taxes and levies on companies that pollute the environment.
Government taking action against pollution
The UK government has continually taken action against environmental challenges
through policies and enforcement of laws. For example, on July 16th, 2015, the
European Parliament s Environment Committee voted in support of a broad measure
to fight air pollution and strengthen laws to reduce emissions for member states. A
report that came out the same period showed that the death rate caused by air
pollution was at 10, 000 per year twice the rate that was previously known

Anesthesiology. If someone were to look closely at the statue, they would see that
there is no name listed because there is no one Father of Anesthesiology.
There is general, regional and local anesthesia. In general anesthesia, one is
unconscious and has no awareness or other feelings. There are a number of general
anesthetic drugs such as gases or vapors inhaled through a breathing mask or tube
and medications introduced through an IV. In regional anesthesia, the
anesthesiologist makes and injection near a cluster of nerves to numb the area of the
body that requires surgery. The patient may stay awake, or may be given a sedative,
either way they do not see or feel the actual surgery taking place. There are several
kinds of regional anesthetics. The two most common are spinal anesthesia and
epidural anesthesia. In local anesthesia, the anesthetic drug is usually injected into the
tissue to numb just the specific location of the body requiring minor surgery. No
matter what anesthetic is received the patient will not have feeling during the surgery.

Star crossed lovers are meant to be split apart. In the tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, by
William Shakespeare, one can witness how severe mistakes were neglected and left

families Romeo and Juliet come from two different sides of the spectrum, yet fall
deeply in love, but emerging from the conflict of the families do both Romeo and
Juliet die. Their death is caused not so much by their flaws, but by numerous
obstacles in their path, which are created by other characters. To that end, the
characters that most dramatically and critically affected the circumstances that led to
the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are Tybalt, the Nurse, and Friar Laurence. First,
Tybalt contributed to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet by appearing intelligent, as he

of his speech was And what have we to oppose them? Shall we try argument? The
explanation is that the Colonist don t really have anything to defend themselves
against the British but to fight them. Sarcastically, he asked them if they wanted to

climate because of its vast environmental impact. In the article, There Is No Such

main sources of pollution due to the production of coal is methane emissions and
particular matter emissions (2). Not only is the burning of coal harmful to the
environment, the coal transportation after it is mined also poses a huge threat. The
NRDC clarifies that diesel burning trucks, trains, and barges that transport coal
spew dangerous chemicals into the earth s atmosphere (2). Not only is it harmful to
the atmosphere, but also to the land and water if it happens to be spilled. The EPA
states, truck records indicate that truck accidents near streams are likely over the
long period of mining operations (19). The addition of these toxic emissions to the
earth will greatly influence the issue of global warming on our planet and could
potentially become irreparable which would make life much harder for future
generations.
Coal mining Alaska will also negatively affect its abundant wildlife. The mining of
the coal will ultimately force the wildlife out of the area, which will cause major

Qantas situational analysis (SWOT) is the first step in the marketing process whereby
the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the airline are identified. The
airline s strengths include: Being part of the Oneworld alliance, having a high safety
record, being a globally recognised airline through the use of branding and the flying
kangaroo logo, purchasing the latest aircraft thus updating technology and staying
level with international competitors and the final strong success of Qantas has come
by operating out of some of the world s major air travel hubs such as Los Angeles
International Airport, London s Heathrow Airport, Singapore s Changi Airport and
Sydney Kingsford Smith International providing an excellent range of customers.
Qantas main weaknesses come from the high risk nature of airlines (possibility of
crashes and large scale incidents), the complexity of the aircraft they buy which
could lead to costs of re training pilots to fly that particular aircraft and may lead to
higher labour and the recent string of incidents have undoubtedly hindered Qantas
image. One of the most recent incidents occurred while a reasonably new Qantas

problems forcing it to hastily turn back and make an emergency landing in Singapore.

Beauty
American Beauty, released in 1999, was a tragic comedy, created by Sam Mendes.
The movie had audiences questioning the ideal American family. You see the usual
midlife crisis that most people go through but watching further uncovers a deeper
conflict of feeling oppressed with what society considers a normal life. The movie has
many connecting themes through plot, characterization, and cinematography and
these themes carry well throughout the movie. The main themes are listed
accordingly, appearance versus reality, loneliness versus feeling connected, denialand
repression, and beauty.
A theme that is consistent throughout the movie is of empty promises of materialism.
From afar the Burnhams seem to have the American Dream: a nice house in the
suburbs, children, cars and good jobs. The Art Culture Film website describes them
as trapped by the ideology of the American Dream (Structural 1). Carolyn Burnham
unnaturally obsessed with materialism and other s opinions of them (Newman 8).
She has an obsession with her material items that she owns and to her they equal

that it is not just a couch, but one that cost $4,000 and is upholstered in Italian silk. In

reports of copper being found in Michigan was in 1667 by Claude Allouez, a

considered a turning point of mining history in the Keweenaw, even though it was

exactly happened that grim Christmas Eve night. All we know is that it was a man

39. Neo Conservatism In The 1960 s
A former Republican Irving Kristol , is often called the God father of
Neoconservative in the United States, because of his involvement and movement
that lead to His articulation and defense of conservative ideals against the dominant
liberalism of the 1960s , who influenced generations of intellectuals and
policymakers and contributed to the resurgence of the Republican Party in the late
1960s and its electoral successes in the 1980s. He was the quintessential organizer
and spark plug of the movement, which took on various organizational forms over
the years, and which he best summed up as a persuasion. His theories centered
around the limits of public interest and welfare programs of the 1960s and 1970s,
which he claimed only worked in theory,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of his essays were on the history ideas. Most neocons believe that the US has
allowed dangers to gather by not spending enough on defense and not confronting
threats aggressively enough. One such threat, they contend, was Saddam Hussein
and his pursuit of weapons of mass destruction. Since the 1991 Gulf War, neocons
have advocated for Hussein s removal. Most neocons share unwavering support for
Israel, which they see as crucial to US military sufficiency in a volatile region. They
also see Israel as a critical piece of democracy in a region ruled by dictators. They
believe that authoritarianism and theocracy have allowed anti Americanism to
flourish in the Middle East, neocons advocate the democratic transformation of the
region, starting with Iraq. They also believe the US is unnecessarily hampered by
multilateral institutions such as the United Nations, which they do not trust to
effectively deal with threats to global
40. Descriptive Essay About My Home
Whenever I hear the word home, I immediately think about a small town about an
hour northeast of Madison. I was born and raised in this small town and hope to
return to or near it after college. Even though I live in Madison now, home to me is
Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. My idea about what home is has changed over time due to
different life events, such as hard times and going to college to continue my
education. The one thing that hasn t changed though is the place that I consider my
home. My entire life I lived in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. When I was about two years
old, my familymoved out into the country, a move that I don t recall, but have seen
pictures of. One of my favorite pictures from the move is of me sitting in a box full
of white packing peanuts, smiling from ear to ear at the camera. The house we
moved into in the Hammer Hills neighborhood was and still is what I consider my
home. The first thing that people notice about our house isn t even our house at
all. It is the towering pine trees lined up in two long rows that run the length of our
property line in front of our house. In total, there are approximately 24 pine trees.
My parents decided to plant the rows of pine trees to act as a wind block to help
with blowing and drifting snow in the winter. The only problem was that it would
take several years for the trees to finally serve their purpose. When they were
planted, they were only whips, as my parents call them, just a few inches tall and
about the width of
41. Ken Price s Sculpture Bro
Page 1 Ken Price Bro In Ken Price s sculpture Bro, he uses form to create a 3D
sculptural image of abstract lines. Bro is a very abstract sculpture in shape and
form, as it does not attempt to portray reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using
shape, form, and texture. The form of the sculpture is smooth, full, and
asymmetrical. The shape of bottom half of the sculpture is wide and thick, creating
a sense of balance in the artwork. Expanding up and out of the bottom of the
sculpture is two tall, straight lines. The lines are thick and smooth, and at the top of
both lines they curl into an O shape, causing them both to resemble the number nine.
Significantly, Ken Price uses these lines to create a feeling of movement in the
sculpture. Also, Ken Price uses differing scales and proportions for each of the two
lines, as one is thicker and taller than the other.... Show more content on

The color scheme for Bro, is a warm shade of rusty red with black etched into
abstract cracks, giving it a sense of decay that conflicts with the sculpture s
modern form. To be more specific, the paint creates a look of rusty metal. Overall,
the sculpture looks like something one might find in a factory, as its form
resembles rusted metal. One of Ken Price s main influences was a Mexican curio
shop near his home in Southern California. He was very inspired by some of the
unusual and abstract objects he found in it. Ken was also very inspired by nature, as
he lived near the Santa Monica Mountains. In the
42. NOPD Organizational Behavior
The NOPD is a bureaucratic, quasi military organization. The Department is
complex, performing many tasks to carry out its mission. These tasks are handled by
different divisions in the NOPD. The Department has a division of labor among its
employees. The NOPD has a rank structure with duties delegated from top to bottom.
The Department has a chain of command and information flows according to it. The
NOPD has written rules and regulations. Anyone interested in joining the Department
can choose from several career paths. Officers wear uniforms, have military style
designations, and are legally authorized to carry weapons, use force, and deprive
individuals of their liberty. These characteristics complicate policework.
The DOJ s investigation and findings report found systemic deficiencies that caused
or contributed to the NOPD s patterns and practices of unconstitutional conduct,
including field supervision.
The Justice Department found that the NOPD had deficient field supervision
policies. For example, policy allowed for too large a span of control that prevented
adequate supervision. In management, a span of control of no more than 1:10 is
generally accepted and 1:5 is recommended. However, an NOPD sergeant ... Show

For example, there were failures in first line supervision. There was a pattern of
flawed arrest and use of force reports that had been approved by supervisors.
Sometimes arrest reports appeared to have not been reviewed at all and use of
force reports to have been written by the officers involved instead of supervisors.
Some reports were signed days after the incidents or not at all. Supervisors did not
always respond to the scene of a use of force incident or conduct investigations of
uses of force. Daily Activity Reports were not accurately or consistently filled out
and counseling and corrective action did not occur. Some supervisors did not ensure
that officers stayed
43. Global Temperature And Climate Change
Global Temperature
The Earth atmosphere energy cycle is a structure of coordinating atmospheric
components. The Köppen classification system is a simple format for generalizing
climate patterns, partitioning the planet into malleable regions by average
environmental conditions. Terms to describe the atypical fluctuations in the Earth s
climate include both global warming and climate change. While global warming
denotes an average escalation of temperature, climate change suggests a shift in the
overall pattern. Climatic zone instabilities, temperature variation, and other deviations
that may interrelate with climate are described as global change. The state of global
climatic equilibrium can be discerned through focusing on observable imbalances
such as positive radiative forcing by atmospheric gasses, temperature fluctuations,
weather phenomena and anthropologic influences.
The rate of energy change per unit area of the globe is gauged by radiative forcing.
The net gain of energy is positive radiative forcing, with the opposite being negative
forcing (SEI GGMI, 2011). According to the National Weather Service (2012), solar
energy absorbed by the atmosphere is typically offset by energy released. Positive
radiative forcing by atmospheric gasses may amplify imbalances in the global
climatic equilibrium.
Unbalanced absorption ratios signify functional discrepancies in the Earth
atmosphere energy cycle. Proportions fluctuate, but carbon dioxide (CO2) methane,
ozone, nitrous

SOMERSET PA (AP) A. Wolf took the stand today in his own defense. This
shocked and stunned the media who predicted that he would not testify in the
brutal double murder trial. A. Wolf is accused of killing (and eating) The First
Little Pig, and The Second Little Pig. This criminal trial is expected to be followed
by a civil trial to be brought by the surviving Third Little Pig. The case has been
characterized as a media circus.
His testimony is transcribed below:
Everybody knows the story of the Three Little Pigs. Or at least they think they do.

cheeseburger just lying there. I was feeling a little better. But I still didn t have my

are you in? He yelled back. Go away wolf. You can t come in. I m shaving the hairs

I had just grabbed the doorknob when I felt another sneeze coming on. I huffed. And I

45. The Headgear Debate On Women s Lacrosse
The Headgear Debate In Women s Lacrosse
In the beginning of the season, the Sherwood High School girl s lacrosse team had
enough to field two teams, a JV and a Varsity, but by the end of the season, there was
only enough to field one team. At one point in the season the team had 8 out of 26
girls out with concussions Team statistics such as this, have the lacrossecommunity in
an uproar over whether or not to mandate helmets for all levels of women s lacrosse
teams. The debate has arisen out of an increase in concussions and the recent
research which has provided more insight to the science of the brain and its injuries.

Florida s decision brought a lot of outcry within many high school teams and even
US Lacrosse. A mandate in only 1 state had US Lacrosse in a bind because they
could not all of the sudden mandate headgear across the country, and they could not
force Florida to repeal the decision as it was a statewide vote. Not only did they
mandate a helmet, that they had not tested they had changed the rules in all of
Florida to be more lax on the yellow card rule ( Why Women s ). This new headgear
was a 10 millimeter thick headband that had to be worn under the girl s goggles.
Many of the high school players spoke out against these protective headbands
saying that all they were doing was creating distraction (Pennington). It got in the
way of their goggles, was flimsy, and continually fell off during game play which
caused discontent from officials as well. These headbands have been criticized
because they only cover a very small portion of the girls head and have not been
very successful in decreasing the number of concussions. In fact, some argue it
could even have made the rate of concussions rise. Ann Carpenetti, Vice President of
lacrosse operations at US Lacrosse, called the headgear decision in Florida
irresponsible and continued by saying that Florida s

The soldier s hands shake, his eyes dart around the room, sweat is dripping down
his brow. Suddenly there is a screech of tires and yelling. He raises his gun and
shoves the muzzle of the gun against the head of his target. BANG! The police
officer kicks down the door, seeing the veteran holding a gun against his own head.
He lowers his arm, takes the weapon, and escorts the veteranhome. Unfortunately,
situations like this happen often but many don t end as happily. Most people believe
veteran depression, comes from trauma suffered in combat, but in actuality the
majority of veterans experience feelings of being out of place and lost after the war

The silence grew long. Finally, Williams turned to look at Barton. Speechless was
not a word most people could imagine applying to Jim Barton. His energy and
outspokenness as head of the Loan Operations department made him one of IVK s
most dynamic executives, a key player and a likely CEO someday of a different
company, if not this one. But the news Williams had conveyed moments before had
left Barton silent, dumbfounded. A few minutes earlier Barton had rushed to William
s office, summoned for his turn with the new chief. All morning, leadership team
members had marched down that hallway one at a time, each after receiving a
phone call, each on a journey to discover his or her fate. As the executive assistant
greeted him courteously and waved him in, Barton allowed himself some optimism.
Most likely, he thought, he was about to receive a promotion. He d done a good job,
been a big contributor as the company had grown to its present size. Something like
Chief Operating Officer would fit him quite nicely. 1 The Hero Called to Action
On the other hand, to hear that he was being asked to leave would not have
enormously surprised him. He hadn t done anything to warrant such treatment. But
unexpected things happen when companies are in crisis. The logic behind executive
appointments, retirements, resignations, and п¬Ѓrings was rarely transparent.
Sometimes, Barton thought there was little logic to it at all. The timing of his
meeting gave Barton reason
48. Text Messaging
Text messaging is a very controversial subject in our society, possibly even in other
cultures. Some complain that texting is overused and abused while others praise
the most recent developments and upgrades of texting. The pervasive use of text
messaging in today s society has many facets; however, the bad is said to outweigh
the good. Any individual s perspective on the issue will most likely depend on their
age group or social class. For example, a fifteen year old would appreciate the
convenience and speed of text messagingbut a fifty year old would most likely not
need the texting function on their cell phone; therefore, the speed and convenience of
text messaging would become irrelevant. Mobile based coordination, as Ling calls...

The scarcity of understanding among the groups can cause tension, fighting, and
even resentment. The majority of text message conversations are built on forming
a response as soon as you can. No one really notices that the hidden idea behind this
general statement can actually lead to a need for instant gratification. Not only
does this necessity cause severe impatience, it also causes an absence of attention
to many things such as school or one s communal life. When I text during a math
or science class where something has to be explained in steps, I lose all of my
focus and do not understand what the teacher is explaining. This most likely occurs
in other types of situations such as business meetings or even dinner dates. Texting
while driving has become the most prevalent cause of traffic accidents in America
today. The general finding here is that the mobile telephone increases reaction time
and that it demands that better could be afforded driving (Ling 49). Those who take
the risk of texting and driving have a subconscious belief that they can avoid a car
accident even though they are more focused on the cell phone rather than driving.
This belief has killed approximately 2,600 people a year and caused six percent of all
traffic accidents (txtresponsibly.org). Lawmakers saw the consequences of these
actions and banned texting while driving in Washington D.C. and 34 states.

World War One has ended, and the world is almost in a state of chaos because of
the devastation. Many people are turning away from religion, family, and their own
country because they cannot count on them to help or give hope amidst times of
uncertainty. It is hard to believe that peace can be achieved. Although, some
governing bodies propose ideas that would help towards world peace, such as
Woodrow Wilson, they soon found out that world peace is just a dream. Wilson was
the president of the United Statesduring World War One and guided the Allies
towards victory. He is seen as an optimist, and does want to achieve world peace.
Thus, he created The Fourteen Points, in which he gave in a speech to Congress. His
speech included ways that would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His credibility can come from his stance in the government and the role he played
during World War One which was helping the Allies defeat the Central Powers.
Because he was the president of the United States, one of the world s strongest
superpowers, he would not be ignored when offering suggestions. In Wilson s early
childhood, he had seen the horrors of war towards the end of the Civil War, which
gives him insight into how peace could be achieved before he was interested in
being president. Wilson attended Princeton, University of Virginia Law School, and
John Hopkins University, thus giving him more credibility because he is very well
educated on multiple topics ( Woodrow Wilson. The White House.). During his
speech, he was very fair minded and suggested solutions to problems that all
countries faced, and not just what would benefit a single country. As an example,
Wilson believes that nations should live its own life [and] determine its own
institutions , which backs up the statement that he wants every nation to be its own
and respected by other countries (American Rhetoric: Woodrow Wilson The
Fourteen Points). The Fourteen Points speech was entirely about peace negotiations
and this allows him to show his morals throughout the speech. His morals being that
he does not want any more fighting, and he believes that the world should be a safe
place for all humans and nations to coexist with one another. In fact, Wilson and his
secretary of state wanted to base their foreign policy on moral principles rather than
selfish materialism ( Woodrow Wilson: Foreign Affairs. ). This in turn builds up his
ethos because the citizens of America knows that he follows morals that most
Americans follow as
50. The Impact Of Internet Marketing On Business Progress
Essay
Success, Failure, Prosperity all these are inevitable parts of business. You win one
day, you taste the failure on the other. It is a continuous process and everyone is in
the search of minimizing the rate of failure and enhancing profitability. Well,
utilization of modern and advanced technology can help you out regarding this.
When we are talking about utilization of modern facilities for business progress, the
context of internet marketing will arrive quite obviously. Asking for the helps of
internet has become undoubtedly an effectual process to create a buzz and do a
solid publicity of your service and in turn invite more and more people to visit your
site. Once it is made certain that the website contains all those information that
prospective visitors would love to search for, a high rate of conversion can be
expected. But is it really that easy as it sounds? No, my dear friend, practically it is
not that easy. Without competing and winning with your competitors, how would
you establish your distinctive presence in the business fields? You must have noticed
that there are so many companies dealing with the same service, but only a few get
worldwide recognition and others get lost in the crowd. You take the example of
Reebok, Nike (in the sporting equipments segment) or Samsung, Nokia (in the field
of mobiles and gadgets). Why they are distinguished than their regular contenders,
because they have been successful to establish their unique presence to the global

The children s inclination for the appearance or taste of four different brands of
chocolate biscuits, breakfast biscuits, and breadsticks is what needs to be
investigated. The accomplishment would be to determine the visual and taste
fondness of three gluten free commercial products. This study would help nurses
during patient teachings to make recommendations of gluten free products and it
would help nurses in the appearance of foods being served to patients. Kildegaard
et al. have presented that the way the food looks will define if the child will eat it
or not. Cooke Wardle found that girls select healthier foods than boys at all ages.
Thirty children ,22 females and 8 males, age range 6 12 years, with diagnosis of
celiac disease from more than 2 years were selected to do this study. The
independent variables are the four different brands of three gluten free products, and
the dependent variable is the high preference of appearance test. The children used
the 5 point hedonic facial scale to evaluate the different foods. The visual tests always
showed higher scores in the 5 point scale than the taste liking rating. The taste test
showed that children s anticipations were lower than expected. It is important to
make the food given to patients have a nice appearance so they can at least try the
food and not reject it without tasting it first. A limitation is that the children must ve
been diagnosed within two years with celiac disease. Manufacturing companies
53. How Did The Grow Of The Hawaiian Kingdom Unjustified
Overthrow of The Hawaiian Kingdom The Overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom was
on January 17, 1893 when the government s power fell in the foreigners hands who
supported annexation. The Annexation Club focused on overthrowing the Queen and
seeking annexation to the United States. This was caused by the McKinley Tariff Act
by the United Stateswhich the Reciprocity Treaty on tariff that helped protect both
United States and Hawaiisugar growers was now removed and the Hawaiians had a
huge disadvantage because of the tariffs the Hawaiians need to pay. This was
horrible for the foreigners because now that there was no more reciprocity treaty,
the Hawaiians had to pay for the tariffs once again. The overthrow was unjustified
for the Hawaiians because of John Stevens actions and the Hawaiian League.
Firstly, The Overthrow was unjustified because Minister John L. Stevens actions.
His actions were illegal because according to Pat Pitzer who wrote Overthrow of
the Monarchy , Minister Stevens called the U.S.S. Boston to send troops to protect
his committee. This is illegal because Minister Stevens have no power that he could

54. The Downfall Of The Romanov Dynasty
In a burgeoning climate of autocracy, the Romanov dynasty was firmly established
in the societal framework of early 20th century Russia. Having been in varying
degrees of absolute political control over an approximate time period of four
hundred years, their eventual undoing marked a power shift polarising the imperial
regime laid out by countless Tsars beforehand. Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia
, is recognised to have a degree of personal responsibility for the downfall of the
Romanovs, yet the extent to which his decision making skills can be held
accountable is questioned by some historians. Despite this, multiple political, social,
and military facets of Nicholas II s reign were handled with instability, and his
perceived lack of legitimacy due to this poor decision making ultimately was a major
causative factor to the downfall of his family s vast dynasty.
Various aspects of Nicholas II s political decisions reflected his clear unsuitability
for the role of Tsar, and these decisions form a preliminary basis for both his own
legacy of incompetency the eventual undoing of the Romanovs. In comparison to
rulers preceding, Nicholas was ill prepared for the role: his father, Alexander III,
failed to adequately develop his son s understanding of civil state responsibilities
before his death in 1894, under the guise that he would live long enough to teach
Nicholas of these affairs. Upon his consecration as Tsar, Nicholas spoke in his diary
of his apprehensiveness
