My Reading and Writing History pt.1
Just like with many aspects of myself many things helped in the contribution of my
reading and writing skills. It was a bit difficult in the beginning learning to read
and write in English since I learned to read and write in Spanish first. Both
languages being pretty similar kind of screwed me up as a child so it took me
longer to learn to read and write in English. Which in turn is why I was put in the
ELD for many years. I did eventually test out of it before starting middle school, but
that s when my dislike for reading and writing started. Being in those programs they
made us read and write even more than the normal students would. I would think
now that all that work should have made me better at reading and writing but in
turn it made me resent those very things and not any better at them. Another thing
that made it worse was my family status, things in my home were complicated to
say the least, but the way I was affected academically was because neither of my
parents really cared for my education, so I was never made to read or write at home.
Those two main things are where my dislike for both things originated. Since I never
thought they were important other than to just get a grade in a class. All these things
helped contribute to the type of reader and writer that I am today.

islands similar to these two? Well, it is the living organisms found there. Millions
of different species of insects, plants, and animals are all part of one of the major
similarities the island s share. The Galapagos Islands are one of these islands. This
island is known for where Charles Darwinmade his theory of evolution. Darwin
studied finches to help make this theory. Finches play a key role in science.
However, they also portray an important role in Harper Lee s, To Kill a
Mockingbird. In this book, birds are essentially the main characters. Several different
birds are mentioned in the story. However, mockingbirds fly above the rest. Finch
birds fly under the radar. It is evident that the characteristics of the birdis represented
through character s actions and personalities. The discovery of finch birds has shown
how they adapted to situations and that they demonstrate racism and segregation
through behavioral tendencies . By understanding the history of finches and the Finch
family, similarities become plentiful. The idea that the Finch family represents
finches comes to mind because of all corresponding personality traits and how they

It s 5 A.M. and the darkness surrounds us. The sun and the birds will rise in about
one hour. Our blue baseball caps rest next to us on the front seat of the truck. The

success. The water must be calm, clean, lukewarm, and an average depth of

To say this movie is an indictment of Communism or even of the antiquated
customs persistent in the Shaanxi province of pre WWII Northern China would
mean seeing only part of the overall picture. The panoramic shots that the movie
opens with create a sense of desolation barren hills, desert landscape, and shoddy
buildings housing poor farmers clawing their way through existence. The message
of this movie is received not just from the characters and their actions, but from the
setting and period as well. This use of the concept mis en scene achieves a certain
impact on the viewer. The soil is dry and bland; the sky often mixes with the earth
