Changes Between 1775 And 1990 Dbq
The American Founding lasted for 25 years from 1775 1800. During that time the United States
declared and won its independence, a gradual revolution in the economic, political, and social
landscape was begun that was not completed by 1800. There was a nominal change made politically in
America between the years 1775 and 1800. In 1791, the Bill of Rights was ratified. These 12
amendments were designed to protect the basic rights of U.S. citizens, ensuring the freedom of speech,
press assembly, and exercise of religion...etc. America was known for its democratic government but
most importantly seen for its freedom, shown in Document D, ...no man shall be compelled to

After the Revolutionary War, America s society weakened due to deficient amount of money and the
lack of being able to trade. America lost their prime trade partnership with Britain resulting in an
economic decline in American society, but this opened a huge window. Since America has now gained
its independence, they can now trade with the rest of the world. When Britain was under control
America was forced to trade only with Britain. Now that they can trade with the rest of the world set
the foundation for great change in America. Though America gaining its independence opened up
world trade for them, as a new country they had new taxes as well. As the new taxes increased, it
resulted in a national debt because they couldn t rely on Britain to pay it off anymore. America didn t
change much at all economically besides there being the new option for world trade which resulted in
the groundwork for great future change in American

Labour Strikes In The United States
Labor Strikes Labor strikes are common in the United States. You might be wondering what a labor
strike is. Well, a labor strike is when a worker or a group of workers protest by refusing to work. But,
what are they protesting? Most of the time they are protesting because of their work conditions. These
include, horrible security, not being paid enough, or they re being disrespected. I probably wouldn t go
on strike. If I did, I wouldn t do crazy things such as, breaking things or fighting people. In 2013, there
was a school bus strike in NYC. During the strike, bus drivers refused to show up and pick up the kids
for school. This affected students and parents. Kids couldn t get to school because they didn t have
rides. These kids will miss

Depression And Postpartum Depression
Postpartum Depression among Teenage Mothers
Introduction
Postpartum depression is a category of depression that can occur when a mother has a baby. The
symptoms of postpartum depression are similar to the symptoms of major depression. Postpartum
depression is often experienced during the first month that the baby is born (Bolyn 2017). Some
women experience postpartum depression during pregnancy (Bolyn 2017). A few symptoms of
postpartum depression are excessive crying, loss of appetite, feelings of hopelessness, and difficulty
concentrating (Bolyn 2017). Teen pregnancy contributes to a small percentage of women who are
diagnosed with postpartum depression (Bolyn 2017). A pregnant woman is considered a teen mom if
she is from the ages of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anemia, Low birth weight, Preeclampsia, and Premature delivery are effects of postpartum depression
during pregnancy (Mena 2016). Mothers who were going through postpartum depression during the
first three months of the child s life were seen to be irritable and less engaged (Field 2011). Inadequate
caregiving is also a major effect of postpartum depression (Field 2011). Mothers who have postpartum
depression are less likely to continue breastfeeding if it becomes difficult (Field 2011). Infant s with
sleep problems are often put into unsafe sleep practices because of a mother s postpartum depression
(Field 2011). Infants of mothers with postpartum depression are less likely to attend well doctor s
appointments (Field 2011). Safety practices are often violated when a mother has postpartum
depression (Field 2011). Some mothers have thoughts of harming their infants during postpartum
depression (Field 2011). They also can have a fear of being alone with their child (Field 2011).
Mothers with postpartum depression are also known to use harsher punishments (Field 2011).
Why it s important? It is important to receive treatment for postpartum depression because if it is left
untreated it could cause further problems. It is also important because a new mother could have a pre
existing underlying condition of depression (Stone 2014). Leaving postpartum depression untreated
can lead to a poor quality relationship with a partner

The Importance Of Public Health
Public health is defined as the overall health of a population as whole that is often monitored and
regulated by the state. Public health regulations can affect the community in their work, homes, and
overall everyday life (What is Public Health?, 2017). This can include holding health fairs, ensuring
places of employment are up to code, and vaccinations of children and elders in the given community.
Those who work in the public health field actively works to ensure the health of the public is
maintained and held to a standard that allows people to effectively live within a given community.
Personal health is the regulation and overall health of an individual separate from the community in
which they live. This differs from public health because all though the personal health can affect the
assessment of public health, public health focuses on the entire community not isolating a single
person but using all the data collected from everyone to assess and develop ways to help the entire
population. Public health interventions and seminars will be based on the data collected for the
individuals because this is how the public health workers will be able to find out the challenges they
face and how to better serve the community. For example, if teen pregnancy is higher in a certain
neighborhood resulting in many teens dropping out of school the public health workers would respond
by giving out free contraceptives and providing parents agree they may also hold safe sex lectures.

Why The Penny Should Be Abolished Essay
A penny saved is a penny earned, to quote Benjamin Franklin. Unfortunately a penny saved is not
worth a whole lot anymore. Like many other once useful things the penny has become obsolete. The
production and use of the penny in the United States monetary system should be abolished.
Eliminating the penny would not be the first time the U.S. has abolished a small denomination. For
example the half cent coin was eliminated in 1857 with little to no trouble. This was due to the half
cent s production cost exceeding its face value similar to the penny right now. Also the half cent was
deemed no longer necessary in purchases just as the penny is no longer necessary today. One reason
why the penny should be abolished is because more and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Penny candy and similar selling strategies or products do not exist anymore. Not to mention what used
to be worth one cent forty five years ago costs ten cents today. Over time the value of the penny has
depreciated with inflation rendering them useless. Furthermore, since the penny cannot function on its
own in a purchase the production of the penny is pointless.
A third reason why the penny should be abolished is because it is a time waster. When making a
purchase and an annoying penny is needed, precious seconds are wasted digging in pockets or purses.
In a culture where time is money, why is an annoyance like the penny still used. The penny is a
timewaster and its use and production should be halted immediately.
Finally a fourth reason why the penny should be abolished is because its production cost exceeds its
face value. The U.S. Mint is losing money, as it costs 1.5 cents to manufacture a one cent penny. This
results in the U.S. Mint losing millions of dollars per year. For example, in 2016, the U.S. Mint lost
$46 million dollars by producing pennies. This makes no sense logically. Why would you manufacture
a product that you can not make a profit

What Is The Narrative Techniques Used In Northanger Abbey
Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey is a bildungsroman, a coming of age story that focuses on the
psychological development, and maturity of the protagonist Catherine Morland. This essay will
analyse the language, and narrative techniques of the set extract, and discuss how this excerpt suggests
vicissitude in Catherine s priorities, within her role as Austen s female bildungsroman. In addition, it
will discuss the domestic gothic and real life abuse that prevails in ordinary situations. Furthermore, it
will argue how Austen s rhetorical techniques work to encourage reader interest, and to exercise
perception, when distinguishing between appearance, and reality. Finally, it will conclude by briefly

Written in third person limited omniscient, and filtered predominantly through Catherine. The
unknown narrator slips effortlessly into free indirect disclosure, which adopts the tone and inflection
of an individual characters voice. This technique allows the narrator to intrude into the narrative to
offer advice, or to foreshadow the characters. However, the narrator frequently breaks from
convention and addresses the reader directly.
Setting and imagery, is important in the novel, the word Abbey , represents connotations of the gothic
itself, which conjures up expectations of horror, and danger, and visions of the uncanny.
Characterisation, through dialogue and free indirect disclosure allows readers to perceive for
themselves the personality and agendas of each individual.
The word choice is rich, and the narrative construction subtle, compassionate, and credible, making
the phrasing natural, realistic, and easily understood through tone and dialogue. My dear Eleanor,
cried Catherine, suppressing her feelings as well as she could, do not be so distressed.

Absurdity And Society
Philosophy Research paper Extra credit Absurdity and Society According to Camus s philosophy of
absurdity, a person is truly happy when he or she accepts that life is meaningless. For example, there is
no fate, or anything past immediate experience. The hope of something better in the future is what
keeps people happy, which raises a question; are people truly happy? If a person cannot be happy
without finding meaning, then people must accept existence has no meaning beyond what each
individual makes of it, and by accepting a meaningless fate; people can be truly aware and therefore
happy. Religion is another form of hope. It is something to look forward to, beyond unpleasant
worldly experiences. The majority of society in the world have a religion of some sort in order to
create contentment and to disguise what Camus believes the world to be, an abyss of meaninglessness.
Therefore, it is significant to consider: without religion, if life was truly meaningless, would it still be
important to perform good deeds. It is also noteworthy for people to consider, if life has no meaning,
is it still important to love, marry, look for adventure or opportunity? Camus s perception of absurdity
can raise many questions that could transform the structure of modern society entirely. Firstly, it is
practical to question if an absurdist would fit into modern society at all. To this inquiry, Camus
answers that it is not so likely in his book The Stranger. In this book, the main character

Adolescents Are Technology Driven. They Wish To Be In Contact
Adolescents are technology driven. They wish to be in contact with others at all times. This often
leads to problematic social media use. Problematic social networking is when networking becomes an
addiction and is harmful to the individuals. The adolescent age group is between the ages of 12 and
18. To put this into reference this is the middle school to high school group. At this age, they need
eight hours of sleep to be healthy. Problematic networking causes a decrease in sleep in adolescents
and in turn, it is having a negative effect on their health resulting in issues in school. Problematic
social networking is a new phenomenon and few people have done research on. Dr. Banyai, a clinical
psychologist, is one of the few who has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dr. Woods, who also has her Ph.D. in psychology, studied how social media related to sleep quality
and a variety of other issues. The study Dr. Woods preformed consisted of 467 Scottish 11 15 year old
s completing a questionnaire in class. According to Dr. Woods, 54% of the time spent online by teens
is spent on social media (Woods). It is an issue that more than half the time students are online they
are on social media because if that time was cut down then problematic social networking would no
longer cut into the adolescent s sleep. I have noticed in my own personal life that being on social
media is a compulsion. I have closed an app because I had gone through everything and my first
instinct was to open it back up. I personally went through the compulsive part. The identification of
trends is another way people are now recognizing this is an issue. Dr. Banyai used the BSMAS scale
and found that the most at risk individuals were females who used the internet and social media for
more than thirty hours per week (7). Dr. Banyai s findings are significant because there are now trends
to be seen. Dr. Polos, a man who has his M.D. and Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology, formed a
similar at risk group in his cross sectional study. His study was looking at the impact of cell phone use
on sleep time. His study was comprised of 3139 surveys done by students. Dr. Polos introduced that
females had a higher rate of insomnia and

Music Synthesis Essay
The piece Touraman contains key structural principles associated with West African music despite the
different versions of Bembeya Jazz National and Lansana Diabate. The structural principles include an
ostinato pattern, improvisation, triple meter, ensemble stratification, and hocketing. In the Bembeya
version, the piece starts with a guitar flourish and then the test of the band comes in. The bass is
keeping the ostinato while the guitars interlock and at certain points improvise; the trumpet improvises
as well. This version also features some call and response, as the lead singer sings a line and the
backing vocals reply in unison. Diabate s version is in the traditional jeli style, so the piece is played
on traditional instruments, as opposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The traditional version is likely to be played at a patron s event or accompanying a traditional
ceremony, while the modern version is more of a social music played at dance halls/concerts. A couple
reasons for the difference are the instrumentation and sociopolitical context of each version. Diabate
uses traditional jeli instruments, which are non electric and specific to jelis, while Bembeya uses
amplified big band instrumentation. A traditional ceremony in a village is not going to use electric
guitars and bass, just as a large cosmopolitan dance hall is not going to use balas and Koran recitation.
The two places are using music as a means for different ends one as a vessel for history and one as a
stamp of modernity. This leads to the sociopolitical context; jelis are born into their profession and
have certain rules around their music, while bands like Bembeya Jazz National were formed by the
state (Guinea) to play music around the country during post independence. While state bands included
jeli musicians, the instrumentation was different and the purpose behind the music was different as
well. State bands were Sekou Toure s way to improve morale and encourage modernity during the
unstable time following independence. So, Diabate s version is meant to be traditional, while
Bembeya s version is meant to be

Analyze Rape As A Tool Of War
Analyze Rape as a tool of war under light of decisions by ICTY and the ICTR?
Rape is one of the most horrific things to happen anyone during wartime. If one studies the role of
rape in war it will include rape both as a consequence of war and method of war. Many cultures have a
stigma to rape and those who are raped are shunned by their communities. Rape is used because it
indicates dominance. Women have been victims of various forms of sexual violence over the years but
rape only became a war crime around the 1990s.The Serb forces for example raped around 20,000 to
50,000 women in the Bosnian war apart from using usual warfare methods of warfare such as
bombing the Serb forces also employed rape as a tool of war. Former Yugoslavia and Rwanda ... Show

The Hague convention respecting the customs and laws of war on land does state in part that the
family honor and rights, the life of person must be respected. Before the decisions of the ICTY and
ICTR rape was prohibited by the Geneva Convention in 1949 after the Second World War the
provisions regarding rape were meant to protect the honor of women .Rape is also especially
prohibited in 1997 Protocol additional to the Geneva Conventions. These coincided with shifting
perceptions that men did not use rape because they were deprived of female companionship during
war time but instead they used it as a war tactic. As rape was not an issue in Nuremburg trials that
played an important part in setting precedents for issues of war crimes in international law so it took a
long time for rape to be made a part of international law. Though the Article 27 of the fourth Geneva
Convention prohibited rape it was more of a symbolic gesture because the world community did not
pay sufficient attention to the issue until 1990s. With the coming of the twentieth century and
especially after the World War two human rights protection has gained much importance but rape did
receive much attention compared to other atrocities till the Bosnian war. Rape is now treated as war
crime and crime against humanity. The incidents of Rape in Yugoslavia caught the attention of the

Ethnic Cleansing And Genocide
Despite the 21st century advancements, the world is still plagued with major problems today. Each
country, region and continent is facing its own set of struggles and battles. Whether it is an economic,
political or social issue, there is always an obstruction that a country is striving to overcome. One of
the worldwide issues is ethnic cleansing and genocide. In particular, the South Sudanese civil war is
caused by differing opinions of ethnic groups and is leading to the attempt of genocide. Despite the
several laws under crimes against humanity opposing this practice, it still does not stop groups from
continuing this vile activity. South Sudan is in turmoil due to fighting between those with ethnic
differences, specifically the Dinka and the Nuer. These heinous crimes must be stopped before the
newly developed country, South Sudan, does not have an opportunity to flourish. This issue has been
common throughout history, varying in severity and affected ethnic groups. For instance, the countries
of Central Africa, Germany, Poland, Hungary and Myanmar have all been affected by this atrocity (
Fear of Genocide in the World s Newest Nation ; Keleman) . Two of the most globally recognized
instances of ethnic cleansing are the Armenian genocide from 1915 to 1920 and the Holocaust from
1933 to 1945. The current South Sudanese Civil War is between the President of South Sudan, Salva

Thesis statement: Water, food, and air that contains arsenic causes human health problems.
Background and history of Arsenic? The elemental Arsenic was discovered by Albert Magnus in 1250

Long term exposure to low doses of arsenic may change the way cells communicate, and reduce their
ability to function, according to researchers at Dartmouth University. It could play a role in the
development of diabetes, cancer, vascular disease and lung disease. The Food and Drug
Administration says that long term exposure to high levels of arsenic is associated with higher rates of
skin cancer, bladder cancer and lung cancer, as well as heart disease.
(https://www.livescience.com/23304 arsenic rice fda health effects.html). Arsenic goes into the human
body through inhalation, ingestion, and skin absorption. If the arsenic inhaled, it goes into the lung
and then goes into the bloodstream. Then liver, will filter the blood and the arsenic will be removed.
Once, the arsenic is removed, it will excreted by urine. If the arsenic was ingested it will go to the
gastrointestinal tract and be removed through human feces. There were two types of Arsenic, the
organic and inorganic. The organic is less harmful than inorganic. In acute arsenic toxicity organ
damage could occur and may lead to death. On the other hand, disfiguration of extremities due to
chronic arsenic exposure may lead to the development of malignant tumors (ww sciencedirect com.lib

dark and appearing of the warts mostly on foot, hands, and upper body. Inhaling large amount of
arsenic, especially inorganic, creates lung irritation, sore throat, and inflammation of esophagus.
Arsenic can also damage the heart such as coronary heart disease, diffuse capillary leakage, and

How Did The Polynesians Develop Their Culture
Polynesian societies and cultures have developed by living in a place hard to survive for centuries.
Throughout these years the Polynesians have developed into a group of people with a strong sense of
community. Many things have shaped the way the Polynesians developed. The country of origin for
the Polynesians heavily influenced their own traditions and culture. When the Polynesians first settled
in Polynesia their traditions most likely would have been the same as those of their country of origin.
Eventually these customs evolved into different rituals, unique to the Polynesians. Some traditions in
Polynesia include the art of tattooing and tracking their genealogies. When the Europeans first came to
Polynesia, they too influenced the way Polynesia developed. The Polynesians culture and traditions
were discouraged and it was many years before the Polynesians could safely go back to their old way
of living. Due to these influences, Polynesia became the tribal community that it is today.

Anderson (2006) points out that as the printed word and industries began to prevail they had a
homogenizing effect on all vernaculars being spoken within a region. He explains Nothing served to
assemble the different people and vernaculars more than print capitalism, which, within the limits
imposed by grammar and syntax, created mechanically reproduced print languages, capable of
dissemination through the market (Anderson 2006, p. 45). Anderson describes three distinct ways in
which print languages laid the basis for a national consciousness. First of all, print language created a

Racial Profiling and Male African Americans
What comes to your mind when you think of an interaction an authoritative figure (police, teacher,
principal)? In the African American community it is usually fear and anxiety of the motive of the
authoritative figure, especially if you are a male. The intersection of race and gender for the African
American male provides a basis for premature judgment by many authoritative figures in their lives.
African American males deserve the same equality to succeed in life as any other human being

Now consider the number of innocents that never get this chance at redemption. Currently the Federal
Bureau of Investigation is collecting racial and ethnic information and mapping American
communities based on crude stereotypes about which groups commit different types of crime and
sharing it with unknown state, local and federal agencies (American Civil Liberties Union, 2012).
Since 9/11 the operating parameters Americans expect to protect their rights to privacy have been
obliterated. The FBI can now initiate an investigation of a person without the standards of just cause
that once protected the rights of all Americans. To the African American male this is nothing new,
random searches and undue investigations have always been a part of being an AAM. From a police
prospective there are ongoing efforts to equalize the authorities governing the communities focused on
diversifying the system and gaining trust amongst the inhabitants. Jones Brown (2001) argues that to
be black and male amounts to a fatal profile for which there has been little to no judicial redress. She
cites Natapoff (2004) in noting that one in four black males 20 29 years of age is locked up, on
probation or parole, or being pressured to snitch. The research goes further to say that one in twelve in
high crime areas are snitching under duress causing a social breakdown of communities nationwide.

The Terror s Origins The nation of France following the approval of the rights of man was a country in
great turmoil. The popular revolution had received what they had so desired, that being a
constitutional monarchy with a set of bylaws that would both protect the people of France and hinder
the power of the monarch. A second revolution would take center stage and hijack the revolution and
push for more radical ideas and push for the stern punishment of the king and those around him
following his flight. The aspect of the revolution that would have the most profound impact on both
the nation and the terror, would be that of the Jacobin club coming into power in France. The
collimation of both Jacobin ideals and having the power to institute these ideas would go on to lead to

She was alone, making her way home on a beautiful summer s night. The colour filled skies and the

With every small step she took she smiled. Everything was falling in to place. Her life was back on
track, she found him. The man of her dreams. The person to make her feel alive, to show her she hadn

for his chance to strike. He followed her step by step, his breathing increasing as he got closer. She
was completely oblivious, so happy that she was left vulnerable. He inched closer and closer, his heart
pounding louder with every waft of her scent. His adrenaline growing at the thought of the
unthinkable act he was going to commit. He gripped her from behind with one arm tightly wrapped

Wozniak designed the hardware and most of the software of the Apple I. Tim Berners Lee: Berners
Lee is famed as the inventor of the World Wide Web, the system that we use to access sites,
documents and files on the Internet. Linus Torvalds: Torvalds fathered Linux, the very popular Unix
based operating system. Torvalds created the Linux kernel in 1991, using the Minix operating system
as inspiration. He started with a task switcher in Intel 80386 assembly and a terminal driver. After that,
he put out a call for others to contribute code, which they did. Currently, only about 2 percent of the
current Linux kernel is written by Torvalds himself. The success of this public invitation to contribute
code for Linux is touted as one of the most prominent examples of free/open source software. Richard
Stallman: Stallman s fame derives from the GNU Project, which he founded to develop a free
operating system. For this, he s known as the father of free software. Tsutomu Shimomura:
Shimomura reached fame in an unfortunate manner: he was hacked by Kevin Mitnick. Following this
personal attack, he made it his cause to help the FBI capture him.

Fahrenheit 451 Essay On Technology
Do you rely on technology to communicate with others? In Bradbury s book, he uses it to reach out to
readers and tell them how technology has taken over the world. His book demonstrates how
technology has changed the world and how it changes the way we communicate to others. People now
communicate with others through technology rather than in person. Technology is good for society
unless it controls it. It can take over peoples lives and affect the way they look at the world. Bradbury
uses the moral literary lens in his book to examine the moral and philosophical issues present in a
work or created during the study of work. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Bradbury uses the
moral literary lens to show the loss of knowledge and communication ... Show more content on

Society changed what the people thought, while also lying to them about what the people believed.
They fed the people these lies that books were dangerous and that having knowledge would corrupt
their minds. The firefighters attacked those who had books and burned their houses down because
they thought it was the right thing to do. Society has changed them so much that they do not
acknowledge the fact that what they were doing was wrong. The main character, Montag, however
realized that burning those houses down was a wrong thing to do. He found out that society has kept
them from gaining all this knowledge from books and wanted to change what they have done.
However, society does not want to change what they have already built so they will eliminate those
who will interfere with the change of society. This shows readers how society has control of their
lives. They have control of their minds without them realizing it. They have brainwashed the people
into believing what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear. Society distracts the people
by using the family on the screen. This also brainwashes them into thinking that life within a screen is
better than real life. This is how people interact in their society. They talk about what is on the screen
rather than talking about what is going on in their life through conversation. Society has taken away

Advantages And Challenges Of IAM
IAM must not only improve the collaboration within a group or a team, but it must also manage to
enable and improve cross sectorial work. The approaches in both Lean Construction and Lean
Production cannot be directly implemented in IAM. There are some important differences between a
production or construction project and asset management. Assets within a water and wastewater
network are more complex, one does not get to start at a clean state like in the construction of a new
building or the production of a car, but one must take over work that was done decades ago. The lack
of information from that time, as well as the difficulty to get a global overview of the system are
additional challenges that are specific to IAM. However, Lean Construction can be applied in all water
and wastewater projects with the help of tools like BIM. This is already in practice today as BIM has
become a new way of designing. What ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All work must be highly specified as to content, sequence, timing and outcome. If the work is not
specified in detail, a considerable variation in how the employees do their work will occur. This
variation will translate into poorer quality, lower productivity and higher costs. Most important, it will
hinder learning and improvement in the organization because the variation hides the link between how
the work is done and the results (Spear and Bowen, 1999). Standardizing processes within the utility
will allow all participants to understand what needs to be done. IAM has already touched this by
proposing the PDCA methodology. However, systems are becoming more and more complex, clear
indicators and objectives must be defined and be understandable by everyone (Granger et al., 2010) .
Standardizing routines like CCTV reports, inspections as well as bigger tasks like the development of
a strategic plan will make it possible to improve them and achieve a better quality of asset

He didn t know until it had happened. His arm was completely trapped under a rock that had tumbled
down after he fell through the crevasse. He was standing on a stable enough ledge, but his arm
incapacitated his movement, and he could feel the blooding dripping down his forehead from a gash
he received during the fall. Thankfully, he still had his backpack on, but since his arm was
immobilized under the rock, he knew he had to cut the backpack off his body. He pulled out his water
bottle; it was only half full. The camera he took on his hikes was still intact and working, and he had
many tools in his backpack that could be useful: a Swiss army knife, some rope, and a couple of

No matter how big or small, we as human beings metamorphose in order to survive, both physically
and mentally. This was an important part of President Obama s last State of the Union address, in
which he said, No matter what obstacles our country faces, we, as Americans, must always pave our
way to greatness together. And he s right, as Americans always have. Through the many hardships we
have experienced as a nation, the American people have had to bring forth strength and talents like
never before in order to keep our nation afloat. Adversity does not only expose qualities of
individuals, but also groups of people as a whole. This has also been seen within many civil rights
movements, such as the initial movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In regards to his
movement, Dr. King once said, We have been beaten, lynched, raped, jailed, and murdered, but do you
see us retreating? No... We are stronger than we may have led you to believe. Dr. King and the African
American Civil Rights Movement were literally almost beaten into submission by the white man in
America, but they used the strength they gained from the rage and sadness they felt in order to keep
on. Hardship within movements is especially powerful because it shows the combined strength of
those who went through the same exact persecution or discrimination. Even when these people could
not bring change by themselves, together they were more powerful than any imagined god. This is
what adversity brings forth in people, especially in

I. Problem 1 Osprey Corporation
a. Facts
Dan and Patrick Zimbrick, sole shareholders of Osprey Corporation have been required to repay
compensation to Osprey Corporation that was found by the IRS to be excessive. In order to determine
how these repayments are to be treated for tax purposes, it is important to note that in 2006 the board
of directors made up of Dan, Patrick and their uncle John, adopted a legally enforceable resolution.
The resolution stipulated that any overpayment of salary disallowed as a deduction by the IRS would
be repaid to the Osprey Corporation. In late 2010 during an audit by the IRS, ... Show more content on

In this case, the taxpayer included the excessive compensation in his return for the year the
compensation was received. Section 1341 allows a taxpayer the option to choose the more favorable
alternative. As written in the case: if the taxpayer included an item in gross income in one taxable
year, and in a subsequent taxable year he becomes entitled to a deduction because the item or a portion
thereof is no longer subject to his unrestricted use, and the amount of the deduction is in excess of
$3,000, the tax for the subsequent year is reduced by either the tax attributable to the deduction or the
decrease in the tax for the prior year attributable to the removal of the item, whichever is greater (52
AFTR 2d 83 6071, 718 F2d 193, 83 2 USTC P 9620.). If Dan or Patrick had a higher tax rate in 2007
than in 2011, this credit could result in more tax savings. Because the court had determined that the
repayment can be claimed under section 1341 in Van Cleave v. U.S., and the IRS had taken a similar
position in Rev. 69 115 1969 1 C.B. 50. Dan and Patrick can claim the repayments to Osprey
Corporation as either a credit under Section 1341 or a deduction under section 162(a).

Legalizing Drugs
Why drugs should be legal? The reason is simple to legalize drugs, this makes them a legitimate
business, and just like any legal business they, must pay taxes. Legalization would end the
exaggerated well paid drug business, and bring to the surface the existing black market. The solution
would dramatically reduce the price of drugs, the high costs of drug production, and trading which
includes prohibition.
The legalization of drugs would cause fewer homicides around twenty five percent in the United
States (According to: World Health Organization). This means that people who are addicted to these
kind of substances will not have to steal or prostitute themselves to pay the high price of these
substances. Studies have shown that when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The average life expectancy on the Reservation is 47 years for men and 52 years for women. In the

theme. Every day the Sioux are treated badly by the government and it isn t right. In this book, it talks
about all the times they were betrayed, lied to, and cheated.
In the novel, there are two big conflicts that the Sioux face. Those two conflicts are Man vs. Nature
and Man vs. Society. But four years later after the treaty had been signed, white miners were violating
the treaty, searching the rocky passes and clear streams of Paha Sapa for the yellow metal that drove
white men crazy. This is a great example of Man vs. Nature because once the rumor spread enough,

Pickering V. Board Of Education Case Study
All schools should ensure that we protect the speech rights of their staff members. In this course,
previously we learned how complicated speech rights can be, especially in this day of age, when more
people are using social media to express their concerns. As educators, we need to know when we are
protected and we also need to be careful as we express our concerns about our school s or district
policies. Usually our staff handbook has guidelines and procedures as to how we should communicate
with news media outlets.
In order to better interpret this scenario, we first need to look another case that resembles this scenario.
The case related to this scenario, Pickering v. Board of Education (1983) upheld that teachers speech,
just like that of any other citizen, is protected when the interest of the speech does not cause harm or

Overall, based on the only information we are given, this scenario refers to teachers first amendment

I would also suggest for her to truly understand her rights, as she would be walking a fine line. If her
appeal is granted, I would suggest for her to continue to build her relationship with her supervisors, so
that any future issues can be avoided. Working relations are one of the most important factor in this

Ancient Greeks And The Roman Empire
There is an old saying, Rome wasn t built in a day. However, it could also be said that, Rome wasn t
built, by the Ancient Greeks, in a day. (Crest) Ancient Greece was founded in 800 B.C. and was seen
to be the first technical, civilized society. Within this society there were large advances in art, poetry
and technology. Despite these advances Greece finally fell to the Romans in the Battle of Corinth in
circa 146 B.C. and was established as a Province of the Roman Empire. This occupation, by the
Empire of Rome inside of Greece was a symbolic moment of their history. The Romans witnessed the
success of Greece and evidence suggests that the Romans adopted the Greek culture into their Empire
with some minor changes. From a social science perspective evidence seems to suggest that Rome
adopted the Grecian systems of politics, culture, and psychological influences. Greece was the first
civilization to introduce the Polis, or City state model. A City state is where a city with its surrounding
territory forms an independent state. With the occupation of the Greeks by the Romans, they witnessed
the effectiveness and success of the City state, thus Rome rose politically based on the City state
model much like that of Ancient Greece. Along with the presence of City states in both the Greek and
Roman civilizations, copious amounts of other political advancements in these ancient societies were
so successful their systems can be seen in modern day governments. For

The Crucible And The Nazi Party
The National Socialist German Workers Party, better known as the Nazi party is perhaps one of the
most murderous and inhuman organization and later government system in history. The Nazi Party
was notorious for their brutal and devastating acts of violence, particularly towards the Jews and
communists of Germany during their reign in 1933 till 1945. Promoting extreme German nationalism
and Social Darwinism survival of the fittest as well as the idea of a master race , Adolf Hitler, chief
leader of the Nazis, led the party through a totalitarian style government and with the manipulative
concepts of mob mentality as well as charismatic leadership, showing the group s connection to the
1953 play The Crucible by Arthur Miller. The beginning of the Nazi Party can be traced back to 1919,
just a year after the end of World War 1. Beginning with a group of unemployed soldiers unhappy
about the Treaty of Versailles, the group quickly spiraled into a mass movement. In 1921, a former
army veteran by the name of Adolf Hitler joined the association and quickly became the group s
leader. Hitler soon began gaining new members as he went throughout the country advocating anti
semitism ideas and the idea that Germany would continue to suffer, unless their was a total revolution
of German life where Jews and communists were eliminated. His ideas caught the attention of many,
especially young, economically disadvantaged Germans, as they saw this as a chance to gain more

ecosystem. Through the use of disparate tones, purposes, and styles of writing, the authors of both
excerpts establish two dissimilar perspectives of the swamp. For instance, a significant factor
contributing to the evident contrast between the two works is each passage s tone. The author of the
first passage uses a factual and informative tone, unlike the author of the second passage. Relying

that hung around in my hands. I was hardly interested in the dolls and doll houses that other girls had.
My mother tells me that wherever I went (and there are pictures to prove it) I always carried a stuffed

take care of the animals that are being boarded, prep a room and/or animal for surgery, and even will
work on animals that need dental care. They are also responsible for making sure that the animals are
handled with care, and treated nicely. Both will most often work with small animals like birds, pigs,
mice, rats, sheep, and large animals that include cattle and horses. Technicians and Technologist can
choose to settle on an area of expertise like dentistry, anesthesia, emergencies, critical care, and
zoological medicine. Technologist must have a four year Bachelor s Degree in veterinary technology.
Some will work in private clinical practices, and although many will work in more advanced jobs they
will usually be under the guidance of a scientist or vet. Technicians need a two year Associate s degree
in a veterinary technology program and will generally work in a private clinical practice under the
guidance of a licensed vet. Both the Technologist and the Technician will need to undergo a
credentialing exam and must become registered, licensed, or certified (this will depend on the state
that they live and work in). It is suggested that you take high school classes in math, and sciences,
such as biology. Most states will require Veterinary Technologists and Technicians to pass the

work experience in a lab and pass the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science
examination (AALAS). In both professions you must have communication skills as you will be
spending a large portion of your time communicating with supervisors, animal owners, and other
members of staff. You also must treat animals with kindness and compassion. A vet technician or

A Glimpse Inside Alcoholics Anonymous
A Glimpse Inside Alcoholics Anonymous
Animated in the spirit of Jesus Christ, we value all individuals unique talents, respect their dignity, and
strive to foster their commitment to excellence in our work. Our community s strength depends on the
unity and diversity of our people, on the free exchange of ideas, and on learning, living, and working
harmoniously (Saint Leo University Core Values, Respect).
Introduction. I decided I wanted to visit an Alcoholics Anonymous group meeting in my local area. It
would be a new experience for me because I have never been to that type of meeting before in my life.
I had only heard of A.A. and the support groups they offer throughout the world. They offer meetings
in every state of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and in some International countries (United States
Alcoholics Anonymous). The meeting I attended consisted of about forty three people, both men and
women. The only type of meeting I had ever been to in my life was either church related or business
related. I chose to go to this type of meeting for three reasons; I wanted to get out of my comfort zone,
I have never been around anyone with substance abuse, and I wanted to see the other side of the
spectrum to gain some insights from a different perspective. I am in Human Services for the purpose
of helping others in need. I can better help people if I become knowledgeable in the areas where they
need help the most. I grew up in church my whole life and was raised in a

Milking Is A Great World Leading Milking Technology
AMS
AMS, a new era in milking is a great world leading milking technology allowing greater flexibility on
milking times as farmers do not have to focus on Dairy premises as frequently, eliminating the need to
be tied to the dairy for long periods of time and milk cows at regular set times. This frees up the
operator s time and energy and allows the operator to shift their focus to other priorities.
Automatic Milking is a big ticket investment. It has the potential to completely change the way we
milk our cows and manage our farms. The labour and the lifestyle implications are many and varied. It
s gone beyond just milking, it s more of a milking/monitoring system with the cow taking charge of its
own milking schedules.
Single and multi box robots and the Automatic Milking rotary (AMR) enables for full voluntary cow
traffic, remote supervision and milkings to be distributed through the 24 hour day. Hence, there
collective term, labelled Automatic Milking Systems (AMS).
Single and multi Box robots
The AMS robotic boxes were originally designed for the European small herds that are housed indoors
most of the years. Some robotic boxes include, the Delaval VMS (Voluntary Milking System), Lely
Astronaut, GalaxyStarline AMS and Merlin AMS. FutureDairy research has proven single boxes can
operate effectively in Australia s pasture based system, achieving both high pasture utilisation and
acceptable AMS unit utilisation. However are best suited to milk 60 to 70 cows per day as

Criminals Should Not Have Guns
Convicted Criminals Should Not Own Guns First off, gun control is one of the most stunning and
intriguing topics discussed in the United States today. Gun control should only be for criminals they
should not take guns away from innocent people. Criminals should not be allowed to carry guns in
public as protection because they may harm others, use it for illegal purposes, and with no federal law.
Also, by citing this amendment the supreme court had upheld the right of states to govern firearms
(Masters). In 2008, the decisions were confirmed that an individual right to keep and bear arms, had
outlawed handguns and to lock them in their homes and for them to be disassembled in Washington,
D.C. (Masters). The U.S. has the highest rate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also add that the system has holes in it (Volokh). Another problem is the laws of carrying guns
vary enormously (Volokh). The case was basically about reading the criminal state and made sure that
the criminal will not go to prison unless the government proves the requirements (Volokh). Gorsuch
and his associates argued that the 10th circuit should have turned the decision that failed around earlier
(Volokh). A felon can regain his gun rights under federal law if the state where he got convicted
restores four things (Volokh). the first and second ones are his gun rights under state law their right to
vote (Volokh). The third and fourth ones are the felons right to serve on a jury their right to hold office
(Volokh). Lastly, no criminals should be allowed to carry guns as protection in public. Gun control
should only apply to criminals who have used guns as a weapon. One reason that criminals should not
be allowed is because they used it to harm another person. Also, a few others would be that they used
it illegally or there is no federal law. Of course they have certain restrictions on felons or criminals
who have used guns as to harm

the countries it holds. Between the late 1800s and early 1900s Africa faced many military annexations
and diplomatic conquests. The impact of colonialism has influenced the conflicts in Liberia that
happened in the late 1900s. Liberia s civil wars held a responsibility for the devastation that is
implicated in its racial stance. Social Darwinism gave support for the superior rule over Africa. Liberia
s conflicts play a notable role in how westernization of education and race are viewed throughout
Africa. Liberia s education system emerged because of these conflicts. Colonizing Africa began
between the 1870s 1900. An important tragedy of colonization is the stripping of ethnicities. Modern
Africa is a product of European imperialism, not African heritage and tradition. Once the profits of the

During that time the United States declared and won its independence, a gradual revolution in the economic, political, and social landscape was begun that was not completed by 1800. There was a nominal change made politically in America between the years 1775 and 1800. In 1791, the Bill of Rights was ratified. These 12 amendments were designed to protect the basic rights of U.S. citizens, ensuring the freedom of speech, press assembly, and exercise of religion...etc. America was known for its democratic government but most importantly seen for its freedom, shown in Document D, ...no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry...but that ... Well, a labor strike is when a worker or a group of workers protest by refusing to work. But, what are they protesting? Most of the time they are protesting because of their work conditions. These include, horrible security, not being paid enough, or they re being disrespected. I probably wouldn t go on strike. If I did, I wouldn t do crazy things such as, breaking things or fighting people. In 2013, there was a school bus strike in NYC. The symptoms of postpartum depression are similar to the symptoms of major depression. Postpartum depression is often experienced during the first month that the baby is born (Bolyn 2017). Some women experience postpartum depression during pregnancy (Bolyn 2017). A few symptoms of postpartum depression are excessive crying, loss of appetite, feelings of hopelessness, and difficulty concentrating (Bolyn 2017). • 6. The Importance Of Public Health Public health is defined as the overall health of a population as whole that is often monitored and regulated by the state. Public health regulations can affect the community in their work, homes, and overall everyday life (What is Public Health?, 2017). This can include holding health fairs, ensuring places of employment are up to code, and vaccinations of children and elders in the given community. Those who work in the public health field actively works to ensure the health of the public is maintained and held to a standard that allows people to effectively live within a given community. Personal health is the regulation and overall health of an individual separate from the community in which they live. This differs from public health because all though the personal health can affect the assessment of public health, public health focuses on the entire community not isolating a single person but using all the data collected from everyone to assess and develop ways to help the entire population. Public health interventions and seminars will be based on the data collected for the individuals because this is how the public health workers will be able to find out the challenges they face and how to better serve the community. For example, if teen pregnancy is higher in a certain neighborhood resulting in many teens dropping out of school the public health workers would respond by giving out free contraceptives and providing parents agree they may also hold safe sex lectures. ... • 7. Why The Penny Should Be Abolished Essay A penny saved is a penny earned, to quote Benjamin Franklin. Unfortunately a penny saved is not worth a whole lot anymore. Like many other once useful things the penny has become obsolete. The production and use of the penny in the United States monetary system should be abolished. Eliminating the penny would not be the first time the U.S. has abolished a small denomination. For example the half cent coin was eliminated in 1857 with little to no trouble. This was due to the half cent s production cost exceeding its face value similar to the penny right now. Also the half cent was deemed no longer necessary in purchases just as the penny is no longer necessary today. One reason why the penny should be abolished is because more and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Penny candy and similar selling strategies or products do not exist anymore. Not to mention what used to be worth one cent forty five years ago costs ten cents today. Over time the value of the penny has depreciated with inflation rendering them useless. Furthermore, since the penny cannot function on its own in a purchase the production of the penny is pointless. A third reason why the penny should be abolished is because it is a time waster. When making a purchase and an annoying penny is needed, precious seconds are wasted digging in pockets or purses. In a culture where time is money, why is an annoyance like the penny still used. The penny is a timewaster and its use and production should be halted immediately. Finally a fourth reason why the penny should be abolished is because its production cost exceeds its face value. The U.S. Mint is losing money, as it costs 1.5 cents to manufacture a one cent penny. This results in the U.S. Mint losing millions of dollars per year. For example, in 2016, the U.S. Mint lost $46 million dollars by producing pennies. This makes no sense logically. Why would you manufacture a product that you can not make a profit ... In addition, it will discuss the domestic gothic and real life abuse that prevails in ordinary situations. • 9. Absurdity And Society Philosophy Research paper Extra credit Absurdity and Society According to Camus s philosophy of absurdity, a person is truly happy when he or she accepts that life is meaningless. For example, there is no fate, or anything past immediate experience. The hope of something better in the future is what keeps people happy, which raises a question; are people truly happy? If a person cannot be happy without finding meaning, then people must accept existence has no meaning beyond what each individual makes of it, and by accepting a meaningless fate; people can be truly aware and therefore happy. Religion is another form of hope. It is something to look forward to, beyond unpleasant worldly experiences. The majority of society in the world have a religion of some sort in order to create contentment and to disguise what Camus believes the world to be, an abyss of meaninglessness. Therefore, it is significant to consider: without religion, if life was truly meaningless, would it still be important to perform good deeds. It is also noteworthy for people to consider, if life has no meaning, is it still important to love, marry, look for adventure or opportunity? Camus s perception of absurdity can raise many questions that could transform the structure of modern society entirely. This often leads to problematic social media use. Problematic social networking is when networking becomes an addiction and is harmful to the individuals. The adolescent age group is between the ages of 12 and 18. To put this into reference this is the middle school to high school group. At this age, they need eight hours of sleep to be healthy. According to Dr. Woods, 54% of the time spent online by teens is spent on social media (Woods). It is an issue that more than half the time students are online they are on social media because if that time was cut down then problematic social networking would no longer cut into the adolescent s sleep. I have noticed in my own personal life that being on social media is a compulsion. I have closed an app because I had gone through everything and my first instinct was to open it back up. I personally went through the compulsive part. The identification of trends is another way people are now recognizing this is an issue. Dr. Banyai used the BSMAS scale and found that the most at risk individuals were females who used the internet and social media for more than thirty hours per week (7). The structural principles include an ostinato pattern, improvisation, triple meter, ensemble stratification, and hocketing. In the Bembeya version, the piece starts with a guitar flourish and then the test of the band comes in. The bass is keeping the ostinato while the guitars interlock and at certain points improvise; the trumpet improvises as well. The traditional version is likely to be played at a patron s event or accompanying a traditional ceremony, while the modern version is more of a social music played at dance halls/concerts. A couple reasons for the difference are the instrumentation and sociopolitical context of each version. Diabate uses traditional jeli instruments, which are non electric and specific to jelis, while Bembeya uses amplified big band instrumentation. A traditional ceremony in a village is not going to use electric guitars and bass, just as a large cosmopolitan dance hall is not going to use balas and Koran recitation. The two places are using music as a means for different ends one as a vessel for history and one as a stamp of modernity. This leads to the sociopolitical context; jelis are born into their profession and have certain rules around their music, while bands like Bembeya Jazz National were formed by the state (Guinea) to play music around the country during post independence. While state bands included jeli musicians, the instrumentation was different and the purpose behind the music was different as well. The approaches in both Lean Construction and Lean Production cannot be directly implemented in IAM. There are some important differences between a production or construction project and asset management. Assets within a water and wastewater network are more complex, one does not get to start at a clean state like in the construction of a new building or the production of a car, but one must take over work that was done decades ago. The lack of information from that time, as well as the difficulty to get a global overview of the system are additional challenges that are specific to IAM. • 30. Pickering V. Board Of Education Case Study All schools should ensure that we protect the speech rights of their staff members. In this course, previously we learned how complicated speech rights can be, especially in this day of age, when more people are using social media to express their concerns. As educators, we need to know when we are protected and we also need to be careful as we express our concerns about our school s or district policies. Usually our staff handbook has guidelines and procedures as to how we should communicate with news media outlets. In order to better interpret this scenario, we first need to look another case that resembles this scenario. The case related to this scenario, Pickering v. Board of Education (1983) upheld that teachers speech, just like that of any other citizen, is protected when the interest of the speech does not cause harm or create false statements. In case, the school was just trying to push her out, and this was an opportunity for them to do that. Overall, based on the only information we are given, this scenario refers to teachers first amendment and freedom of speech. I would side with the teacher and I would encourage her to appeal her transfer. I would also suggest for her to truly understand her rights, as she would be walking a fine line. If her appeal is granted, I would suggest for her to continue to build her relationship with her supervisors, so that any future issues can be avoided. • 32. Ancient Greeks And The Roman Empire There is an old saying, Rome wasn t built in a day. However, it could also be said that, Rome wasn t built, by the Ancient Greeks, in a day. (Crest) Ancient Greece was founded in 800 B.C. and was seen to be the first technical, civilized society. Within this society there were large advances in art, poetry and technology. Despite these advances Greece finally fell to the Romans in the Battle of Corinth in circa 146 B.C. and was established as a Province of the Roman Empire. This occupation, by the Empire of Rome inside of Greece was a symbolic moment of their history. The Romans witnessed the success of Greece and evidence suggests that the Romans adopted the Greek culture into their Empire with some minor changes. From a social science perspective evidence seems to suggest that Rome adopted the Grecian systems of politics, culture, and psychological influences. Greece was the first civilization to introduce the Polis, or City state model. A City state is where a city with its surrounding territory forms an independent state. With the occupation of the Greeks by the Romans, they witnessed the effectiveness and success of the City state, thus Rome rose politically based on the City state model much like that of Ancient Greece. Along with the presence of City states in both the Greek and Roman civilizations, copious amounts of other political advancements in these ancient societies were so successful their systems can be seen in modern day governments. • 33. The Crucible And The Nazi Party The National Socialist German Workers Party, better known as the Nazi party is perhaps one of the most murderous and inhuman organization and later government system in history. The Nazi Party was notorious for their brutal and devastating acts of violence, particularly towards the Jews and communists of Germany during their reign in 1933 till 1945. Promoting extreme German nationalism and Social Darwinism survival of the fittest as well as the idea of a master race , Adolf Hitler, chief leader of the Nazis, led the party through a totalitarian style government and with the manipulative concepts of mob mentality as well as charismatic leadership, showing the group s connection to the 1953 play The Crucible by Arthur Miller. The beginning of the Nazi Party can be traced back to 1919, just a year after the end of World War 1. Beginning with a group of unemployed soldiers unhappy about the Treaty of Versailles, the group quickly spiraled into a mass movement. In 1921, a former army veteran by the name of Adolf Hitler joined the association and quickly became the group s leader. Hitler soon began gaining new members as he went throughout the country advocating anti semitism ideas and the idea that Germany would continue to suffer, unless their was a total revolution of German life where Jews and communists were eliminated. His ideas caught the attention of many, especially young, economically disadvantaged Germans, as they saw this as a chance to gain more than they ever had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two passages provide information about the swamp, and although they feature the same subject, both works articulate two directly contrasting viewpoints about the ecosystem. Through the use of disparate tones, purposes, and styles of writing, the authors of both excerpts establish two dissimilar perspectives of the swamp. For instance, a significant factor contributing to the evident contrast between the two works is each passage s tone. The author of the first passage uses a factual and informative tone, unlike the author of the second passage. Relying mainly on logic and facts, the author of the first excerpt produces ... If you were a boy it was probably little toy cars (and we all carried around a blanket at one point in our life). But for me it was always stuffed animals that hung around in my hands. I was hardly interested in the dolls and doll houses that other girls had. My mother tells me that wherever I went (and there are pictures to prove it) I always carried a stuffed animal around. Our community s strength depends on the unity and diversity of our people, on the free exchange of ideas, and on learning, living, and working harmoniously (Saint Leo University Core Values, Respect). Introduction. I decided I wanted to visit an Alcoholics Anonymous group meeting in my local area. It would be a new experience for me because I have never been to that type of meeting before in my life. I had only heard of A.A. and the support groups they offer throughout the world. They offer meetings in every state of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and in some International countries (United States Alcoholics Anonymous). The meeting I attended consisted of about forty three people, both men and women. The only type of meeting I had ever been to in my life was either church related or business related. I chose to go to this type of meeting for three reasons; I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, I have never been around anyone with substance abuse, and I wanted to see the other side of the spectrum to gain some insights from a different perspective. I am in Human Services for the purpose of helping others in need. I can better help people if I become knowledgeable in the areas where they need help the most. Milking Is A Great World Leading Milking Technology AMS AMS, a new era in milking is a great world leading milking technology allowing greater flexibility on milking times as farmers do not have to focus on Dairy premises as frequently, eliminating the need to be tied to the dairy for long periods of time and milk cows at regular set times. This frees up the operator s time and energy and allows the operator to shift their focus to other priorities. Automatic Milking is a big ticket investment. It has the potential to completely change the way we milk our cows and manage our farms. The labour and the lifestyle implications are many and varied. It s gone beyond just milking, it s more of a milking/monitoring system with the cow taking charge of its own milking schedules. Single and multi box robots and the Automatic Milking rotary (AMR) enables for full voluntary cow traffic, remote supervision and milkings to be distributed through the 24 hour day. Hence, there collective term, labelled Automatic Milking Systems (AMS). Gun control should only be for criminals they should not take guns away from innocent people. Criminals should not be allowed to carry guns in public as protection because they may harm others, use it for illegal purposes, and with no federal law. Also, by citing this amendment the supreme court had upheld the right of states to govern firearms (Masters). In 2008, the decisions were confirmed that an individual right to keep and bear arms, had outlawed handguns and to lock them in their homes and for them to be disassembled in Washington, D.C. Another problem is the laws of carrying guns vary enormously (Volokh). The case was basically about reading the criminal state and made sure that the criminal will not go to prison unless the government proves the requirements (Volokh). Gorsuch and his associates argued that the 10th circuit should have turned the decision that failed around earlier (Volokh). A felon can regain his gun rights under federal law if the state where he got convicted restores four things (Volokh). the first and second ones are his gun rights under state law their right to vote (Volokh). The third and fourth ones are the felons right to serve on a jury their right to hold office (Volokh). Lastly, no criminals should be allowed to carry guns as protection in public. Gun control should only apply to criminals who have used guns as a weapon. One reason that criminals should not be allowed is because they used it to harm another person. Also, a few others would be that they used it illegally or there is no federal law. Of course they have certain restrictions on felons or criminals who have used guns as to harm ... • 40. The Colonization Of Africa Is A Significant Reason Why The... The colonization of Africa is a significant reason why the educational system in Africa is split between the countries it holds. Between the late 1800s and early 1900s Africa faced many military annexations and diplomatic conquests. The impact of colonialism has influenced the conflicts in Liberia that happened in the late 1900s. Liberia s civil wars held a responsibility for the devastation that is implicated in its racial stance. Social Darwinism gave support for the superior rule over Africa. Liberia s conflicts play a notable role in how westernization of education and race are viewed throughout Africa. Liberia s education system emerged because of these conflicts. Colonizing Africa began between the 1870s 1900. An important tragedy of colonization is the stripping of ethnicities. Modern Africa is a product of European imperialism, not African heritage and tradition. Once the profits of the slave trade collapsed, because of its abolition, European markets were looking for ways to keep a steady way to make profits. Traditionally, Africa had been divided into groups by tribe, family, clan and lineage. During the process of colonization these characteristics were social, economic and political. Colonial state formation caused new values, institutions and operational principles to take place. The African colonization required the taking of territories that were unknown to the political world. The old views on who would run each group were diminished by the new rulers ...
