2. Pros And Cons Of Grand Jury
In America s justice system, a grand jury is a group of citizens called to decide
whether probable cause exists to believe that a suspect committed the crime with
which she or he has been charged (Gaines G 4). In the Central District of California,
prospective jurors who report and are not excused or postponed, the JuryClerk will
use a computer program to randomly select 23 members and ten alternates for each
grand jury. A grand jury designated investigatory meet for a 12 month term, while a
grand jury designated accusatory meets for a 6 month term. A grand jury has 23
members and meets once a week, always on the same weekday. Grand juries do not
meet on weekends or Mondays. The average workday is 5 hours. Absences for
medical appointments, vacations, graduations, etc. may be accommodated, but 16
members must be present for the grand jury to conduct business. The grand jury
serves the United States District Court, Central District of California. In contrast, a
trial jury is asked to reach a verdict based on the evidence presented during a civil or
criminal trial; a grand jury meets in secret to consider whether there is sufficient
evidence to justify a formal criminal charge against someone. That formal criminal
charge is called an indictment(Central).
San Bernardino County grand jury plays a distinctively different role in the judicial
system. It is composed of 19 persons (or 23 in counties with over 4 million residents)
selected from a group of 30 citizens

4. Inca And Aztec Empires Similarities
The Aztec and Incan religions were similar and different in many ways. For one,
both empires and their religions consisted of polytheistic values. Both empires
participated in human sacrifice. Both empires worshipped a sun god or deity. Both
empires used religion to unify societies and access authority over citizens. Both
kings of these empires were considered angelic. Both religions believed in gods and
sacrifice. A very important role in the religionof these empires was agriculture. Both,
the Aztecand Incan empires, believed in many gods. They believed that without the
gods, their crops would wither, and soon die.
The Aztec religion believed that several worlds existed before the world that we
live in today. The called this series of world the Four Suns , and believe that the
one that we currently live is considered to be the fifth sun. The Aztecs believe that
2 beings were the basis for all actuality and existence. One consisted of how the
gods originated. One god was Ometecuhtli, who was considered to be the lord of
duality. There was also Omeciuatl, who was considered to be the lady of duality. The

However, the empires had different names for their gods and goddesses. The Aztecs
believe that Huitzilopochtli, god of the sun, was condiered the most important god or

considered to be the most important. The most prominent deities in the Aztec religion
included Tezcatlipoca (a powerful creator god), Quetzalcoatl (god of learning and
patron of priests), Tlaloc (an ancient central Mexican rain god) and Huitzilopochtli,

5. Symbols In The Metamorphosis
At some point in our lives, we encounter obstacles, problems and big changes in the
way we live our lives. Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis tells the story of Gregor
Samsa had not only undergone a big transformation physically, but also emotionally
and mentally as an insect. Reading behind the lines uncovers hidden meanings,
imagery, and symbols that may seem inconspicuous to a normal reader. As this
literature may be understood through the lines, and texts that blend in the story.
Throughout The Metamorphosis, symbols, imagery, and settings are used to develop
Kafka s messages. In the light of this, it may be said that no matter how simple this
novel may seem, it can cover extensive imagery and symbols that comprises its true
identity and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The family gradually rejected Greg s new life as a Vermin. Once the family
realized that Greg was no longer able to provide for their living, they found him
useless and refused to care for him. The anger and shame Mr. Samsa has for his
son can be evidenced by the force the apple was thrown at Gregor. Then the
realization only struck Gregor when he was hit by the apple as thrown by his
father Mr. Samsa, the collision brings forth this sudden realization within Gregor
and his family, that could also be symbolized from the Bible, by the apple Your
eyes shall be opened (Genesis 3:5, NIV). Gregor can already painfully see that his
life has been completely changed, he no longer holds the position as the son; he is
not useful because he cannot earn money anymore, he is just a gigantic vermin
that is taking up space in the house. To the father, this can be similar to exile
because he is leaving the comforts of his home and work. Furthermore, this apple
becomes a realization to readers that the family did not really treat Gregor as their
own son even before he became a Vermin. They failed to realize that Gregor has
transformed from the son to the bank account. Before, the Samsa family does not
see the metamorphosis because Gregor s physical appearance did not differ, but now
they were forced to take notice . Now, the symbolism of the rotting apple is the guilt
he faced after the incident. It

HISTORY OF STATISTICS
The history of statistics can be said to start around 1749 although, over time, there
have been changes to the interpretation of the word statistics. By the 18th century, the
term statistics designated the systematic collection ofdemographic and economic data
by states. In the early 19th century, the meaning of statistics broadened to include the
discipline concerned with the collection, summary, and analysis of data. Today
statistics is widely employed in government, business, and all the sciences. Electronic
computers have expedited statistical computation, and have allowed statisticians to

7. The Molly Maguires
Who were the Molly Maguires? Did they really exist? These are questions asked by
many people today. Some historians wonder if the Molly Maguires really did
bring their secret society from England to the United States, or if the incidents
blamed on them were just random accidents on which officials needed to place a
blame. We may never actually know... There are many ideas about how the Molly
Maguires got their name. One of the most popular is that Molly was a poor widow,
who was evicted from her home after the landlord s agent apparently, severely
abused her and her daughter . The group adopted this name in homage to the Molly
and her bravery. Another theory is that Molly s home was used as the first meeting
place of this new secret... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These crimes were then blamed on the Mollies in order to, hopefully, suppress their
extreme resistance. Many mine owners intimidated miners into complying with what
they wanted by maiming and murdering those suspected of union activism. The trials
for those who were believed to be involved with the Molly Maguires were merely
protocol. Society, the government, and the Catholic Church had already convicted
them. The man who acted as the state prosecutor in some of the cases is quoted to
have said, The name of a Molly Maguire being attached to a man s name is sufficient
to hang him . In many of the trials, the evidence was circumstantial at best and the
witnesses were supplying obviously false information. According to information
recently gathered by historians, the men charged were by no means absolutely guilty,
although it cannot be proved they were completely innocent. Throughout labor
history, there were many strike, as well as many acts of violence committed by both
the miners and the mine owners and bosses. Interestingly enough, none of this history
is taught in many schools across the country. In A History of the United States , a
tenth grade history textbook, there is only one paragraph stating: Miners in the
eastern Pennsylvania coal fields organized a secret
8. The Accounting Principles And Procedures
When a company reports its financial reports, the information is expected to be
reliable, verifiable, consistency, and comparability when applying accounting
principles and procedures. The accounting principles and procedures directly affect
the company s balance sheet and it financial statement by depending on hot it s
prepared and interpreted. If there are any changes in the accounting principles and
procedures when preparing the financial statements, it should be notified and
documented any changes that made to the company s accounting practices.
Therefore, this paper is going to address about a company that has decided to change
its accounting method of depreciation to a declining balance method and weather its
decrease net income or not, results of changes in principle or estimate, importance of
choosing the accounting methods, and the influence of errors and corrections in the
financial statements.
Changing Depreciation method to a Declining Balance Method The straight line
method has always used by the company, but recently the company decided to change
its method of depreciating long term assets to be consistent with major competitors,
which use a declining balance method. However, this change will cause past
expenses to be higher and income to be lower. It is important to remember that net
income from continuing operations will decrease at the time of recognition; meaning
in the future depreciation expense will decrease, but in a long run it will increase

The De Beers Company is one of the wealthiest companies in the world. De Beers
leads and dominates the diamond industry in diamond mining, diamond trading, and
industrial diamond manufacturing. In 1871 a South African man named Cecil Rhodes
created De Beers. Rhodes rented water pumps to miners then invested his profits by
buying up small mining operations. In 2011 the De Beers Group sold their
remaining stake to Anglo American for $5.1 billion in cash. (DeMarco, 2011).

These stockholders do a great job planning on how to keep the company making
big profits. This gives these stockholders lots of control. De Beers has done a great
job expanding their markets and making sure those places have high demand for
their product. In an article on Telegraph.co.uk, Josephine Moulds states De Beer s
sales in the Middle East, India and Asia drove pre tax profits up 74% to $1 billion in
the first half (Moulds, 2011).
The governments in the diamond industry have a lot of control what the companies
can do. When mining diamonds many of land and resources are used. Governments
have to take the interest of their people and also take into account what impact the
diamond industry has on the local environment. In the country of Angola diamond
mining has had a huge impact. Brilliantearth.com states irresponsible diamond
mining has caused soil erosion, led to deforestation, and forced local populations to
relocate (Brilliant Earth, n.d.). Governments also have to regulate labor laws for their
country. In some countries diamonds are mined by small children in unsafe
conditions. These responsibilities fall under the local government to protect the land
from these mining companies. Local governments can write laws and regulations
require diamond mining companies to take extra precautions in order to operate.
This could require the diamond company to decide is it worth it to follow these
regulations or find a cheaper place to mind

11. The Matrix And Neuromancer Comparison
Neuromancer came up with a novel approach towards science fiction, and was
instrumental in spawning multiple movies of similar genre. One of such movie is
The Matrix . The reason I chose this movie for the review is the very concept of
stimulated reality in this movie being quite analogous to the one slowly budding
towards the end in the Neuromancer.
The Matrix is a sci fi heavily reliant on the theme of cyber culture and cyber punk.
Like Case, Neo too is a computer hacker, but the similarity ends there. While Case
is clearly an anti hero, Neo flies pretty close to being an ideal hero. Neo which is
also an anagram of One is the one prophesied by the Oracle to bring in the destruction
of the matrix and usher in the freedom of mankind. While ... Show more content on

Personally, I found the issue of free will most pervasive throughout the movie. Like
Neuromancer, in the Matrix, it is the AI who are calling all the shots. But unlike
The Matrix , free will is not particularly significant in Neuromancer. Mostly,
because people are yet to imagine a world in its absence. Even the characters
reaction to their respective universe is quite distinct. Though Case seemed like an
anti establishment character, he follows the orders given by the AI, Wintermute
without much hesitation. In Contrast to this, except when hacking, Neo is a
perfect law abiding citizen who pays his taxes. Yet, he is the one who subsequently
leads revolution against the AI. Free will seems almost pivotal to the overall
delivery of The Matrix . Even though Neo had already made up his mind to explore
the truth as soon as he decided not to get out of car, there is a famous scene with
Morpheus and the pills. The scene is particularly significant as it reinforces the
view that choice is everything. Morpheus provided Neo with two pills. The red pill
would allow him to explore the truth while the blue pill would make all this
complications disappear. Even though Morpheus truly believed that Neo was the
only one who could save mankind, he gave Neo a

1.Hook: A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor Franklin D Roosevelt. Introduce
Topic: Juan Cabrillo had mapped out the California coasts, discovered a port and
named it San Miguel until it was named San Diego later on. Background info:
Cabrillo was a Portuguese soldier who lived in Spain and later explored the coasts of
California. The point of Cabrillo s exploration was to find treasures on the California
coasts and to claim land for the Spanish Government. Thesis: Cabrillo accomplished
three things; discovering San Diego bay, mapping the coasts of California, and
claiming land for Spain.

Cabrillo accidentally discovered San Diego Bay as he was trying to map out coasts of
California. He called it a very good enclosed port . Example: On September 28, after
three months of sailing, Cabrillo brought his ships into a bay which he called a
very good enclosed port. He named it San Miguel, and claimed the land for Spain.
Today it is San Diego Bay. Cabrillo s was the first known landing of a ship on the

14. Analysis Of Strictly Ballroom
Strictly Ballroom employs the dance medium to effectively create characterisation,
the plot and a clash of cultures. Dance is used to explore character s feelings and
struggles at a point in time to further enhance the plot. It is used to show attributes
and emotions of characters and provides examples of clashing cultures though dance.
Dance is the focus of Strictly Ballroom as the film follows young ballroom dancer
Scott Hastings who is going through a personal struggle to stick to regulation steps,
and therefore dance is integral to the plot. Dance is the focus of the film it
explores the characters, for instance Scott uses dance to advance as a character. In
the beginning, he tries to break free through dance, then as he dances on the rooftop
with Fran he breaks free to an extent. Dance is used to as a device for characters to
use to help set them free form their troubles as this is used the plot is advanced.
Dance is the characters lives the different styles in the movie represent different
emotional states they are in and this further continues the plot as they face their
personal struggles.
The film strictly ballroom encourages the viewer to relate to the journey experienced
by Scott and Fran in the film. The viewer relates to the non conformity, self
expression and individuality that dance creates which enhances characterisation.
Scott is short tempered and stubborn and this shown in his dancing at the beginning
of the film. His dance sticks to regulation steps

Public Goods
The goal of my research is investigate differences in the value homeowners place on
neighborhood local public goods. I define local public goods as either non
excludable or non rivalrous neighborhood amenities such as open space, school
quality, and public transportation, and disamenities such as crime. Previous research
has focused on estimating the average value or willingness to pay for these types of
goods. However, just as most preferences can vary by income level, so can the
preferences for local public goods. From a public policy persepctive it is important to
understand this heterogeneity so that local governments can better serve their
residents. For example, if low income households value public transportation more
than the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Assuming higher income households purchase more expensive homes, we can

acquired data on neighborhood amenities and disamenities from several sources.
This fellowship would allow me to purchase even more detailed data on open
space, nearby public infrastructure and amenities, and crime rates. It would also
allow me to focus more of my time in geocoding houses, open space, roadways,
crime, and census data to get more precise measures of local public goods and
account for any spatial correlation between houses. For several decades researchers
have used hedonic theory to estimate the effect of various local public goods on
house prices. These studies have examined the value households place on a countless
number of neighborhood amenities and disamenities, including open space, school
quality, crime, air quality, and nearby public infrastructure. Understanding households
willingness to pay is paramount for local governments, city planners, and
policymakers in determining the optimal provision of various public goods and
services. A quick survey of the hedonic literature finds that the effects of certain
public goods on housing prices often vary in their significance, magnitude and
direction. In fact, cite{sirmans2005composition} review over
17. Diversity Of Diversity At The Workplace
In this week s integrated article, review, I am focusing on diversity at the workplace.
This is a topic very relevant and important for any organizations success. Diversity at
the workplace refers to any characteristic that makes people different from one
another.
Today s workforce is a diverse mix in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, generational
attitudes. It is important for an organization to adopt diversity management practices
to bring this diverse mix together into a stable productive unit.
The marketplace is more global driven by advances in communication and
technology. For many organizations, managing diversity at the work place is an
integral part of their culture. Management of diversity makes every employee
sensitive to the needs and differences of others. In the first article, Diversity
management practices do they make a difference 1 a study was conducted on
diversity management practices adopted by local governments in recruiting, hiring
and retaining a diverse workforce.
I found this article interesting because it reviews how diversity is managed from the
grassroots level in a government setting. It was suggested that a diversified
workforce could solve problems in a better way due to their diverse perspectives and
skills and thereby increase organizational performance.
A study was conducted to examine the effects of diversity management at the local
government and was categorized into two types. In type A Diversity management

18. Criticism In Dorian Shelley s The Player And Dorian Gray
Monika and Lord Henry are the opposite of The Player and Dorian Gray, driving the
plot to fit their intention of changing the protagonist to fit some ideology. Their
archetype is the Puppet Master, exerting control by manipulating others. Without
Monika s epiphany (Team Salvato) in realizing that she is just a side character, but
wanting more, or Lord Henry fascination of Dorian Gray s aura of innocence, the
plot of the stories would be quite dull and would not have been notable pieces of
rhetoric. When sharing poems in the day part of Doki Doki Literature Club,
Monika states that her writing has changed, telling The Player You can say I kind
of had a sort of epiphany lately. She later adds a file into the game files that say I
did not do anything dangerous... All I did was untie the knot (Team Salvato).
Monika has a mentality that the other character s actions are their own, and that
she is not at fault for the events resulting of her influence. This mentality directly
correlates with Lord Henry s idea of Dorian s change in expression after he shared
his intense views of vanity and life. Lord Henry observes He [Lord Henry] was
amazed at the sudden impression that his words had produced... He had merely shot
an arrow into the air. Had it hit the mark? How fascinating the lad was! (Wilde, 22).
Though Oscar Wildequickly hints that there is something deeper to his novel by
writing the reader as omnipotent, Team Salvato preferred to make the reader a
character. The team subtlety hints that there is something strange occurring in the
game, saving their big reveal that Monika is the Puppet Master until the Good
Ending. This difference shows another aspect of how archetypes have withstood
time, the ability to adapt to what the author needs out of the archetype. Oscar Wilde
wanted his audience to know who was the Puppet Master from the start of the novel
to set his novel apart from other Victorian era novels; on the other hand, Team Salvato
used the Puppet Master archetype to first seem like a standard dating simulator until
the ending, shocking The Player more than if they revealed Monika s intentions in the
beginning of the game. The archetype stays true to role they play as manipulation of
other
19. Comparing Bugs Dimed And Rabbit Plays Tug-Of-War
The episode of Bugs Bunny watched for this assignment featured Bugs Bunny and
Yosemite Sam. The video starts out with Yosemite Sam pointing a gun at Bugs
Bunny. Bugs, immediately challenges him by turning his gun and saying You can t
talk to me like that, those are fighting words! Bugs then provokes Sam by drawing
lines in the sand and daring Sam to step over the lines, which he does, and
inevitably leads to him to falling off a cliff. A chase ensues, with bugs in the lead,
using several forms of trickery to stay one step ahead of his opponent. Eventually,
Bugs convinces Sam that the best way to handle the dispute is with a game of gin
rummy, with the loser having to leave town. Of course Bugs wins the game but
after packing all of Sam s belongings and pushing Sam on the train, he realizes that
the train is full of beautiful woman and decides he will be the one leaving town.
There are several different influences that can be noted when comparing Bugs
Bunny to Native American lore. First, in the stories The Trickster Tricked and
Rabbit Plays Tug of War it shows the repeated use of the rabbits as one of the leading
characters. In both stories and Bugs Bunny, the rabbit is portrayed as arrogant,
mischievous; yet humorous,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

20. The Effects Of Workplace Stress On The United Kingdom
Courts
This study examined workplace stress in a random sample of litigated cases heard in
the United Kingdom courts. The majority of claims related to clinical depression. The
alleged causes of workplace stress most commonly cited in litigation included:
excessive workload, followed by poor management practices, organisational,
economic or technical change, aggressive managementstyle, and bullying by co
workers. The presence of effective workplace stressmanagement policies were
important interventions that played a particularly significant role in avoiding legal
action and reducing the detrimental experience of employees. A significant finding
was that 94 per cent of the cases were found in favour of the employer as the
defendant. Implications for managerial practice are suggested. This analysis of
seventy five cases between 2002 2014 will shed valuable light on the nature of
workplace stress claims litigated in the courts and the likely chance of success in
such cases.

21. The Five Stages Of Grief
The five stages of grief according to Linda Pastan are denial, Acceptance,
Bargaining, anger and depression, these poem was written in the year 1978 by
Linda Pastan. She was born in May 27 1932. She was a poet and novelist, she lived
in New York City. This poem the five stages of grief is self explanatory, it talks
about the stages a person goes through when they lose someone or something they
lose. Grief of Mind is a poem written by Edward Dave about grief which is the theme
of five stages of grief. The song Chasing Pavement by Adele also has traces of grief
and also portrays the same message which is the denial, acceptance, bargaining anger
and depression as the poem. Mona Lisaby Leonardo Da Vinciis also a painting that
portrays on dying love and grief over a loved one. All four pieces of literature/art
have a tenebrous setting. In her book The Five Stages of Grief, Linda Pastan
combines concrete and delicate imagery as she records her feelings about the steps
in the gradual acceptance of death. Each stage is represented by its own group of
poems; each group has its unique voice, speech, and dimension of feeling. Although
the images peculiar to the different stages do lie over something else, they are
utilized in different contexts and so stimulates varying emotions. The book cover
shows a winding staircase whose upper steps cannot be seen, though the balcony is
in partial view and the lower steps are in full view. The reader is invited to ascend in
22. Differences In Cinder And Cinderella
Although Cinder and Cinderella are very different they stayed strong. There are many
similarities and differences in both Cinder and Cinderella. When comparing both
stories it is clear that there is more differences than similarities. The main conflict is
basically the same, but the details are not. Cinder and Cinderellaare not only two
different stories, but they re also two different characters. The differences in
Cinder are: She s a cyborg, she s immune to letumosis, she s a lunar, she s a
mechanic, one of her step sisters is nice to her, and the story is based on the future.
Cinder was in a hover accident and was required to be transformed into a cyborg.
She s also a lunar which makes her immune to letumosis. Cinder is close to
23. The Rail Line Extension Of The Metro Bus System
Minneapolis has been ranked as one of the worst areas in the United States when it
comes to traffic. Drivers in the Twin Cities spend an average of 63 hours per year
stuck in traffic according to a 2015 survey done by TomTom, a GPS navigation
company. In hopes of solving the traffic problem, the first rail line in Minnesota
opened back in 2004. Since then there has been a Green Line extension from St.
Paul to Minneapolis. The original Blue Line provided 10.6 million rides as of last
year and the Green Line has provided 12.4 million rides. Both lines have contributed
to the decrease to the overall ridership of the Metro bus system. Due to the success of
the Minneapolis light railsystem there has been plans to expand it even further.
In May 2010, a southwest Green Line extension was finally approved. The southwest
light rail would extend the green line fourteen and a half miles. Adding sixteen new
stations beginning in downtown Minneapolis and running through St. Louis Park,
Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Eden Prairie. The total estimated cost for the project is
$1.858 billion, costing the state of Minnesota a total of $30.3 million. The rest of the
funding comes from various sources such as Counties Transit Improvement Board,
Hennepin Country Regional Railroad Authority, Metropolitan Council, in kind land
transfers, and other local contributions. Construction is set to start in 2017 and end
by 2021 if light rail is allowed to continue. This costly project has been approved and
24. The Face Of Decline Of The Coal Mining Industry
The Face of Decline proceeds with the chronological coverage from the start of the
mines/mining industry to the decline of the mines/mining industry. First, the book
gave a very clear and concise description of the different topics that would be
discussed. Also, they discuss how many people s lives were affected from the mining
industry. According to the many different details listed throughout the book, the book
focused generally on the importance of the coalmines, the employees, and the hard
times that everyone went through during the rising and declining on the mining
regions. Next, the book focuses on how being in the mines led to many health
problems and even death. Many health problems led to black lung which is caused
from inhaling the fumes and dust from being in the coal mines. The integration of the
personal input and interviews about how their lives were directly affected by the coal
miningindustry was a very effective strategy.
The coal mining and anthracite region faced many challenges throughout the
years, and still faces many struggles today. The coal mining and anthracite region
was a very bumpy road for everyone. The levels of coal within the industry have
varied over time and with the help of new technology, more coal was being found.
The coal was now being used for other sources, specifically moving the coal around
the world by trains and ships. Also, there were many ways that coal was found, and
the ways that it has developed over time
25. Analysis Of The Circle By Dave Eggers
Technology in the last few decades has revolutionized the way life continues on a
day to day basis. Computers have gotten smaller and it is now possible to have one
that fits into one s palm and back pockets with ease. It has never been easier to use
technology to do a plethora of things, such as socializing, shopping, doing
schoolwork, or even applying for a job. Yet, the very technology that helps enhance
everyday human life can also be extremely detrimental to society and one s private
lives. This topic is seen throughout the book The Circle by Dave Eggers, as it is one
of the book s central themes. The main character, Mae Holland, believes that all
people show complete and total transparency, however this thought is very dangerous.

People have always wanted there to be less crimes, and the internet is helping aid
government officials stop criminals in their tracks. Consequently, with the growth
of the internet, the government can keep more records of citizens than they once
could. Eamon Bailey, one of the founders of The Circle within the book, he
introduces a new type of mini camera that is designed to aid others in a plethora of
ways. One such way is helping law enforcement and cracking down on crime.
Bailey states, In a world where bad choices are no longer an option, we have no
choice but to be good (Eggers 292). His speech opens up the discussion on how the
government would be able define what is a good choice and what is a bad choice.
Thus, it will allow the government to turn from a democratic to totalitarian society,
where it gets to dictate all parts of everyone s lives. Bailey s suggestion is not far
off from what could possibly be the future of the world if technology reigns supreme.
The Circle can be viewed as a precautionary tale. Mae s transformation into a cyborg
at the end of the book is a prime example that technology can have humans lose the
very qualities that define them. Though the rise of technology is not complete, it is
not too late to prevent the extreme invasion of privacy through the internet. People
can combat this by making sure to keep their private lives as private as they can.
Otherwise, technology can create a dangerous environment in which society and
humanity is

Negative Publicity Rains Upon AAMC Hired in 1998, Ephonia M. Green was
hired to work at Association of American Medical College as an administrative
assistant employee. Ms. Green s yearly salary earned her approximately $56,000 a
year however she is charged with stealing more than $5 million from AAMC over
a period of 12 years until the fraud was discovered in July 2013. Ms. Green s access
to submitting invoices for payments through AAMC allowed her to create a scheme
that would catapult her well over her yearly salary. Ms. Green created company
names that were similar to legitimate vendors of AAMC in which she then registered
those trade names with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation. She
then created fictitious invoices for those companies as actual vendors of AAMC.
Using the names that she created, she then opened bank accounts at several local
banks. These financial institutions would serve as personal businesses used to
receive payment in which she would personally profit from. As an employee of
AAMC, Ms. Green reviewed the false invoices and signed off on them which
indicated to the accounting department those invoices were approved for payment.
Ms. Green also advised with each invoice that the checks generated to pay the invoice,
should be returned directly to her versus mailing them out to the fictitious vendor.
The accounting department had no way of knowing the vendors
27. Summary Of The Net Imagery In Oresteia
In the Oresteia, revenge drives the characters to act. Although they call it justice, it
is not. Aeschylus uses net imagery to symbolize faith and destiny. When
Clytemnestra murders Agamemnon and Cassandra, the net imagery acts as a
symbol of terrible fate. However, then fate reverse. Now, Orestes is caught in
Apollo s net and kills his own mother. Lastly, Athene changes the meaning of the net
from one of chaos to that of order and justice. These uses of the net imagery help the
reader focus on a crucial theme in the play: the superiority of a formal justice system
to one based on the individual quest for revenge by progressively altering the nets
meaning and its affect on those around it.
Clytemnestra s use of the net imagery focuses the reader on the drawback, that is,
collateral damage, of a justice system that is based on the individual quest for
revenge by emphasizing the collateral damage associated with revenge. As she stands
over the bodies of Agamemnon and Cassandra she says: I wrapped in a great net not
a fish could have slipped from the shoal (69). Involving the shoal in Clytemnestra s
speech explains that with every revenge quest there are innocent people who suffer
the repercussions. An avenger does not consider the bystanders surrounding the guilty
person. Clytemnestra states that the net was so large that the fish could not escape
the shoal. If the fish s fate is to be caught in the net yet it cannot escape the shoal, that
means the shoal suffers the same
28. Overview Of The Socio-Cultural Cognitive Theory Of Lev...
The socio cultural cognitive theory of Lev Vygotsky emphasizes children s cognitive
development cannot be understood apart from cultural settings, and social
interactions and activities shape their ways to construct knowledge (Jahoda, Dagnan,
Stenfert Kroese, Pert, Trower, 2009; Santrock, Mackenzie Rivers, Pangman, 2017;
Woolfolk, Winne, Perry, 2016). The notion of the zone of proximal development
(ZPD) is a well known concept of his theoretical framework (Santrock, Mackenzie
Rivers, Pangman, 2017; Woolfolk, Winne, Perry, 2016; Ylvisaker Feeney, 2009). In
the follow paragraphs, I will brief explain this concept, clarify how it closely relates
to individual daily life, and discuss the limit of this notion with reflect on my
personal experience.
Vygotsky s concept of ZPD refers to the range of difficulties which children are
unable to master alone, but they could solve independently if adults or more mature
peers provide the appropriate support (Jahoda, Dagnan, Stenfert Kroese, Pert,
Trower, 2009; Santrock, Mackenzie Rivers, Pangman, 2017; Woolfolk, Winne,
Perry, 2016). In teaching, the ZPD typifies the theoretical space between what
students already knew and what students are not ready to learn (Santrock,
Mackenzie Rivers, Pangman, 2017; Woolfolk, Winne, Perry, 2016). Two borders of
this space are represented as the lower limit of ZPD (e.g. the difficulties which
children are able to master alone, what students already knew), and the upper limit of
29. The Success Of Luxury Brands
Luxury brands should be able to effectively create some emotional connection with
its customers and should not strive to please mass markets, but specifically to only
those customers whose beliefs align with the brands. Beliefs go further to establish a
connection than just brand values; they are more specific and consequently lead to
higher diversification (Keller et al, 2008). Ferrari provides a good example of this.
An Italian luxury sports car manufacturing company, according to BrandFinance it is
the 9th most powerful brand in the world (Global 500, 2015). It has strong beliefs in

Like Chanel, luxury brands should strive to achieve as broad a spectrum of icons
associated with their brand as possible (Peterson, 2014).
The place(s) in which the brand is sold is a vital aspect of luxury branding success. If
a brand can create an atmosphere that is aesthetically and emotionally pleasing, then
it evokes luxury to its customers. One example of this is men s bespoke shirt maker,
Charvet Place VendГґme, often referred to as simply Charvet. Situated in the one of
the hГґtels particuliers (the French equivalent to a grand British townhouse) that
surrounds the Place VendГґme in Paris. The Charvet store operates across seven
floors within this building. This store epitomises elegance and grandeur and as such,
Charvet have created a temple like store, for which their customers can enjoy their
products, allowing for a deeper more emotional connection to the brand itself (Mr
Porter, 2015).
Customers are pulled towards brands with the promise of becoming part of an
exclusive community. This creates a sense of great desire to purchase luxury
branded products. For example, Hermes, which specialises in leather, lifestyle
accessories, fragrance, ready to wear clothing as well as other luxury goods, will not
allow customers to buy their iconic handbags until they have formed a long term
relationship with the brand itself (Grigorian and
30. Ender s Game Literary Analysis Essay
The Psychological Aspect of Ender s Game
Mass genocide is normally something people can avoid doing in their lifetime, but
in Ender Wiggin s case, there was no way around it. Ender Wiggin is a young,
intelligent boy who was manipulated into committing mass genocide to an alien
species nicknamed the buggers . Ender was under the belief he was playing a
simulation of the battles. He was under command of Colonel Graff, Mazer Rackham,
and other authority members who told him exactly what games to play and when.
Ender knew following these orders is essential to his survival and possibly the
survival of the human race. Ender Wiggin, psychologically, should not be held at fault
for committing mass genocide. The novel Ender s Game illustrates Ender ... Show

training Ender aren t looking out for him, they re shaping Ender to be the next
commander. They put Ender through various tests to prove his loyalty,
commitment, and perseverance, all which put a toll on Ender. They want Ender to
be fearful of his future, and therefore willing to lead an army. This fear is a product

founder. He is also the founder of creative followership. He is driven by
influencing people that are interested in advancing their careers and wants to share
his experiences and wisdom with them. Mr. collins was willing to share some of
his stories and experience with us. Not all of the stories were happy endings or the
pretty picture we sometimes try to portray to people. He stressed the importance of
telling your own story. When you tell your own story, you are able to do it with
passion and emotion. You can feel it out for those listening. I have always been
somewhat afraid of telling people my whole story, because I never know how they
will react or treat me after. But, the reality is, my story has power, the power to
influence. My story is my own, and no one can change it. I was inspired by how
transparent Mr. Collins was with telling his story, he was inspiring and
motivational. As Christians, it is our job to witness and love others, our stories
have power and they are one of the easiest ways to relate to others and build God s
kingdom. Mr. Collins shared the best career advice he had ever received. He found

32. Plot in Their Eyes Were Watching God by Hurston Zora
All of this takes place in a rural town of West Florida called Eatonville in the early
twentieth century. I was amazed at the story, symbols and images that this novel
creates. The symbolism and metaphorical language used also brought interest and
an urge to want to read more. In the novel Their eyes were watching God by
Hurston Zora, Janie Crawford is a black middle aged woman who has an intriguing
story to tell. She has been away from her home town for few years and comes back
to be welcomed by harsh and barely near factual gossip and criticism. In life,
criticism is inevitable like death, whether it s positive or negative. What I found
interesting is how Janie brushes off and takes no offense to the harsh gossip from
her neighbors when she returned. The reason for that is because Janie left and
found herself, she has lived life, got married a couple of times and know what life
is outside of her town. She knew what love was and also knew what it felt like to
be happy and hurt. Janie Crawford experienced things that any of the females who
gossiped about her hasn t. The story of her life begins to unfold as she sits with
Phoebe Watson, her friend for decades that brought her some mullato rice. I think
Phoebe shows signs of hypocrisy because although she defended Janie when the
other women spoke badly about her, prior to Janie s arrival she accompanied these
women daily as they gossiped about other people. Sheep don t stay in the presence

33. How Gaming Saved My Future
Hello, My name is Marcus Paige. This is my essay on how gaming saved my
future. I discovered gaming through watching television. One show in particular
that caught my attention, was called Nick s Video Arcade . I would really get into
that show because during that time I did not own my a console of my own. So, this
was the best I could do at the time. I would also pick up gaming magazines from
time to time. I could see what was new in the gaming scene and read about future
consoles coming out. I also became a huge fan of the readers section of these
magazines, since you could send in questions and have them answered. Another
thing that got me into gaming was a family friend. I can remember as a child I
would always go along with my mother to visit one of her good friends. While I
was there, her son and I would always end up playing games the whole time I was
visiting. By getting into gaming, I feel that it has helped me out in many different
ways. For example, back in high school I wasn t the smartest student. I didn t apply
myself much . You could say I was stuck inside a spiral going down wards. I would
notice that things weren t going so well, but I really didn t bother to try or turn
myself around . During my downward spiral, I would find myself constantly making
bad decisions. I would go out and party when I knew I should be at home studying,or
doing my homework assignments. I was also hanging out with people who had no
care about my academic

Alcatraz is a prison that is famous for holding the most notorious criminals in the
United States of America. Alcatraz was a maximum security federal prison on a
island on the coast of San Francisco in California. Those who were a danger to
society were the ones that would be sent to Alcatraz to be isolated from society. The
prisonhas made history and has affected our current prison system that we have now
in the United States. Today the prison is no longer a prison, it is now a national park
where many can visit and tour around the old facility.
Alcatraz started as a lighthouse service back in 1854 to guide ships into the San

Everything the inmates did outside of their cells was a privilege, even the
simplest things like working in the prison yard, receiving and sending mail, and
having visits from friends and family were some of the privileges of the inmates.
The only way to gain such privileges was earned from good behavior. If inmates
broke any rules or had any bad behaviors in the prison then they would lose their
privileges for a few weeks. Those who were chosen to work for the facility like the
laundry room or the bakery, would create more of a friendly bond with each other.
This was the only physical interaction the inmates would have with other prisoners
while being incarcerated in the prison. Of course they are still under heavy
supervision while doing their jobs so that they are not planning to take over the
prison. Inmates were allowed to watch movies two times a month only if inmate
behavior was an exception to the facility the staff. Due to inmates having an
individual cell, most of the inmates would become bored of staying in the same place
for 23 hours. This then made inmates to create their own language in the prison that
the guards cannot understand, this is also known as prison argot. The prison argot is
still never cracked from anyone else till this day even after the prison is not longer
operational. Inmate life in Alcatraz may seem much restricted and challenging, but

Paris
Introduction:
Calcined gypsum (calcium sulphate hemihydrate, CaS04 1/2H20), often known as
plaster of Paris, is used extensively in the production casts to immobilize parts of the
body and for making moulds used in the make of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
Plaster models and casts have several advantages, and a few disadvantages.
Everywhere available, plaster is inert, adequately stable dimensionally, for the use at
hand, and it is low price. Its key disadvantage involves the time required for it to dry
enough so that it may be modified and used for the forming orthoses and prostheses.
Casting over a residual has allowed immediate rehabilitation with the help prosthesis.

Removal of the cast requires destroying the cast itself ,the process is generally
noisy, and needs making use of a special oscillating saw that can easily cut the hard
cast material but has difficulty cutting soft material like cast padding or skin. Even
though the removal is often painless, this can be distressing process for the patient,
especially for children. A cast saw can cut, abrade, or burn skin, but those cases are
very rare. Additionally, plaster of Paris casts break down if patients get them
36. Maslow, An American Psychologist
Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist, created the pyramid of human needs
to depict the subconscious priority system that we all possess. According to this
pyramid, people must fully meet the needs of the lowest level physiological needs,
such as breathing, food, and water before moving up to any of the following levels.
The idea behind this process is that a person will continue to move up the pyramid as
they fulfill each individual level, until ending with the final level, which is self
actualization. This is the goal of all humans, their innermost desire: to reach self
actualization and become all that they are capable of becoming. However, the
majority of the human racelives their lives based on reaching commercial and
economic success, rather than happiness and higher values. Modern economic theory
measures wealth in a strictly monetary sense, resulting in motivation stemming from
the promise of money, not from the promise of possible self fulfillment. This theory
stifles the natural motivation within people to reach a higher value, therefore stifling
the potential of all people in an economic, social, and individual sense. As shown
through different readings about oppressed women or races, different pieces of
literature, and personal experiences, self actualization leads to a life filled with more
meaning and purpose. Because all people have a fundamental impulse to self
actualize, an economic theory based on recognition of these aspirations, rather than
one
37. Richard Cory And Boey s Poetry
In Edwin Arlington Robinson s poem Richard Cory and in T.R. Hummer s poem
Glass Ceiling, the theme of people shielding themselves and others from reality for
social reasons is exemplified in both works of poetry. Both famous American
poems illustrate how humans interact with each other and the familiar relationships
we have. We can interpret the idea of masking ourselves and hiding from reality
from these two poems. Such examples are found in the following poems. In the
poem by Edwin Arlington Robinson, he had portrayed his main character, Richard
Cory, as a very fine gentleman who was perfect in every way possible. The speaker
of the poem is only known to be of lower social and economic status when the speaker
had mentioned Cory going down town, the speaker mentioned that We people on the
pavement looked at him, indicating that the speaker is a part of a subordinate
community and when the speaker says So on we worked, and waited for the light,
And went without the meat, and cursed the bread, the speaker reveals that the
community that s/he lives in is struggling and is desperate for help. Although, the

In Richard Cory, Cory can be taken as some sort of an archetype of people who
don t project their true emotions and are under a mask that shields them from
reality. What made the death of Richard Cory all the more surprising is that every
reader had expected him to be the absolute greatest person to be and we must strive
to be like him. When the grandmother of the speaker had died in Glass Ceiling, the
speaker couldn t help, but deny the reality that is that his grandmother or mother had
died and therefore shielded himself from reality. These two poems parallels our
everyday life and how we shield ourselves upon the reality bestowed on

There are many types of bacteria. Bacteria are a large group of unicellular
microorganisms that have cells walls but lack organelles and an organized nucleus.
Some bacteria can cause diseases that are becoming resistant to antibiotics. One of
these bacteria is Escherichia coli. If garlic can prevent the growth of E. coli, a special
of rod shaped, facultative anaerobic bacteriain the large intestine of humans and other
animals, it might prevent the growth of other bacteria (WebMD, 2010). E. coli is

coli, then the bacteria cluster would be killed because garlic contains allicin,
which is an antimicrobial substance. Allicin was discovered in 1944 by Cavallito,
who first noted its potent antimicrobial activity. To maintain the antibacterial
properties of garlic, it must be consumed or applied as raw garlic because cooking
will destroy the allicin (www.allicin.com, 2013). E. coli can be grown easily at
room temperature in a petri dish. The petri dishes are usually filled with sheep blood
agar, a nutrient culture medium that is enriched with whole blood and used for the
growth of certain strains of bacteria. Bibliography

Premature ejaculation (PE) is a frequent and under treated problem for males and
their sexual partners. PE is the most common sexual dysfunction problem for men,
with an estimated 14 30% of males ages 18 years and older reporting PE globally.
However, the prevalence of PE is difficult to determine because of the ambiguity
surrounding the definition of clinically relevant PE as well as the reluctance of
sufferers to report their condition . Yet, most previously published clinical trials use
the DSM IV TR definition of PE, defined as : A.Persistent or recurrent pattern of
ejaculation occurring during partnered sexual activity within approximately 1 minute
following vaginal penetration and before the individual wishes it (Note: Although
the diagnosis of PE may apply to individuals engaged in non vaginal sexual
activities, specific duration criteria have not been established for these activities)

C.The symptom in Criteria A causes clinically significant distress in the individual.
D.The sexual dysfunction is not better explained by a nonsexual mental disorder or
as a consequence of severe relationship distress or other significant stressors and is
not attributable to the effects of a substance/medication or another medical
41. Similarities Between Hard Rock And Hard Rock Music
Hard rock and heavy metal, not a solid mineral or a substance on a periodic table,
but music. Heavy metal and hard rock, both categories of the expansive rock genre.
Even though rooted in the same tree, these subgenera s have expanded to an
indistinguishable sounds, and both have cemented names into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame. Their origins were not different. Starting in England, landed a
multitude of large groups rising the post war industry of 1960s. Bands such as Led
Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest formed to combat feelings of
angst as a low income factory workers, and to express thoughts counterculture that
brewed in England. This was the time period when it was just rock . The music
coincided with many feels of the lower class youth of England, and slowly grew to
the British and American top charts. ( Factory Music: How the Industrial
Geography and Working Class Environment of Post War Birmingham Fostered the
Birth of Heavy Metal ) However, as they grew, groups such as Led Zeppelin and
Black Sabbath changed their art style and subject matter to their own directions, this
consequently created a void between the hard rock and heavy metal groups that is
known today. Style is everything, and this is where both groups separate at the fork.
Hard rock s style as stated by Allmusic, Hard rock generally prizes big, stadium ready
guitar riffs, anthemic choruses, and stomping, swaggering backbeats...hard rock has
remained exuberant, chest thumping
42. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to
realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms,
it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. In 40 plus states, the
math and English guidelines determine the knowledge students have to master by
the end of each grade, what they ll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how
teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released
(Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be
reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No
Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State Standards math and
reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the
students should know by the end of the schoolyear. The reforms also evaluate teacher
performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe
educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and
others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the
truth is educational reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students
throughout the country should all have the same high quality standards. Issues and
Controversies states, All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that
American youth are
43. Surah 17
Sura 17 of the Qur an embodies our theme of conquest and resistance. This Sura
explains that people will resist the truth of the Qur an, therefore resisting God s
will; however, people must conquer their own corrupt desires in order to follow the
right path that God has laid out for them. If people are unable to comply with God s
will the guidelines in the Qur an they will be punished; however, this Sura, like all the
Suras, reminds the listeners of the Qur an that God is merciful. The Qur an
consistently reminds its readers that God is merciful before every Sura. His power
and mercy is exemplified in Sura 17 regarding the Children of Israel. The Children of
Israel betrayed their God s commandments and became corrupt; therefore, God
punished... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sura 17 specifically epitomizes the theme for our semester, conquest and resistance.
This Sura embodies the phrase here I am as Professor Cremins proclaimed in his
lecture, because of its straightforwardness in the ideas of conquesting one s own
desires and complying, rather than resisting, the
44. What Does It All Matter Thomas Nagel Chapter Summaries
Kaylee Padron Philosophy is different from science and from mathematics. Unlike
science it doesn t rely on experiments or observation, but only on thought...It is
done by asking questions, arguing, trying out ideas and thinking of possible
arguments (Nagel 4.) In Thomas Nagel s book, What Does it All Mean? he
wrestles questions everyone has once thought to themselves. Each chapter answers
a new question and causes the reader to meditate on what past philosophers have
once thought. Faced with questions like, How do we know anything? , Are we
living in a dream? , and What is the meaning of life? Every reader is forced to
become a philosopher of his or her own in order to provide an answer for him or
herself. Chapter 2 Am I real? Do I have a brain if I have never seen it? Is this
physical world I see made up? Does anything exist outside of my own mind? These
are questions brought up my Thomas Nagel as he begins to explain the theory of
solipsism. According to Nagel, solipsism is a view that argues your mind is the
only thing that exists (Nagel 11.) Although he is not a solipsist himself, he explains
how you, the subject of experience, are the only thing that exist, and there is no
physical world at all (Nagel 11.) How is one able to... Show more content on

Are things determined in advance? When I am faced with decisions that can either
benefit or damage me, how do I know what to always choose? In Nagel s book, What
Does it All Mean? He discusses a basic life decision of what to eat for dessert. Should
one eat the peach that is healthier and will benefit us or the piece of chocolate cake
filled with calories and sugar? Every day we are faced with decisions, both easy and
challenging ones. We are faced with decisions we do not even realize we are
making, like brushing your teeth in the morning. In our lifetime we are also faced
and with life altering decisions like making a big move to a new transfer
45. Positive Influences
People become who they are based on the people around them. Whether it is
family, friends, teacher, or somebody from sports these people have an effect on
other s lives and help shape these people into the person they are today. The most
influential person in somebody s life should be a positive influence and therefore
teach them a valuable lesson. I have had many influences on me, but my biggest
influence came from my hockey coach, Glenn Rinyu. It was the beginning of last
season and the Plainview Hawks, my hockey team, had just finished their practice.
While the team was in the locker room, Coach Glenn asked James Surless and me to
go speak to him outside of the locker room. Coach Glenn told us that he was making
decisions on whom to make... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the puck hit the ice the game started and Plainview got off to a good start.
Danny forced one of the Massapequa players to turn over the puck behind their net
and Danny passed it to me near the top of the right faceoff circle in the offensive
zone. I waited for James and Danny to get in front of the net and saw an open lane
to James stick. I passed the puck, but it deflected off a skate from a Massapequa
player and went into the net. I scored the opening goal within the first shift of the
game and we used this momentum throughout the rest of the game and comfortably
won 12 1. Throughout the game, the team skated with intensity and played as a
46. The Biased Media and Its Effects on American Interest...
The Biased Media and Its Effects on American Interest Towards Politics In
America we value the freedom of the press. The press is the one place where most
Americans go to get educated on issues facing their community, state, and most of
all nation. Everyone knows that the media plays a major role in Americans lives;
however their role of gatekeeper is not completely understood. The press decides
which issues to report and how to report them. In order to improve the nation and
world, the media should present their unbiased findings to allow people to make up
their own minds. However, this is not the case. The media often shows its bias. Their
widespread exposure enables them to communicate their ideas to the public,
regardless of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that many Americans do not even know their Senators or House
Representatives name. On the other hand, it would be very difficult to find
someone who does not know anything about the recent presidential election.
Everyone knows about the Florida ballot disputes only because the media has
placed so much emphasis on them. There is so much media coverage in politics
today that in order to be elected one must be appealing to the public. Years ago the
only way people could find out about candidates and the issues they stood for was
by reading a newspaper or listening to the radio. Today, anyone can turn on the
television or go to a web site on the Internet and see the candidates themselves
talking about their issues. With almost all American homes having at least one
television, a candidate must possess a good personality, plans and ideas. Now,
more than ever Americans place excessive importance on appearance. This means
that a candidate has to appear successfully, competent and inspire confidence.
When was the last time a president was elected based on appearances? It was
probably in the 1800 s with the election of Abe Lincoln. History shows what a great
president he was. It sounds very superficial, but unfortunately this is true of our
society. Candidates have to appeal to the public as much as possible, and appear
comfortable on camera. However a candidate s appearance is not the only thing that
plays a major role in getting them elected. In 1984,

The Chemical Earth
Part A:
The mixtures that will be discussed in this report will be a using a concoction of
sand, salt and water. This mixture will be separated into solids of different sizes,
solids and liquids, different liquids and solids dissolved in different liquids. A second
mixture that will be examined is water which would be separated into different gases.
This report will summarise the different separating techniques in thorough detail and
how it employed in the two different mixtures.
The method that was used to separate from solids and liquids, was filtration.
Filtration is the process in which the solution is passed through filter paper lining the
sides of a funnel, the liquids is able to permeate through but the solids ... Show more

In my opinion, I believe iron smelting is an efficient way of extracting iron as it has
many companies working with/against each other in finding the best way to make
this process cost efficient, fast, safe and environmentally friendly (as much as
possible).
4.Identify the product(s) of separation and their uses
The product of smelting iron ore is pig iron. Alone, pig iron has limited uses, these
include: basic metal utensils, pot metals, fencing or railing, decorative metal pieces
and pig iron pellets or ingots that can be loaded into a plane for a balanced flight.
Pig iron can also be converted to wrought iron and steel and the uses of these include:
Wrought Iron: railings, hooks, chains, rivets and railway couplings.
Steel: construction, transport, energy, packaging and appliances and industry
5.Discuss issues associated with wastes from the industrial separation processes used
The smelting of iron utilises vast amounts of energy and thus creates greenhouse gas
emissions. Large amounts of gangue (slag) are also a problem produced as a waste
product that needs to be disposed
48. 1820 Dbq Essay
The United States was dramatically changing; starting from 1820 to 1848. It was
changing in two very distinct ways; economically and politically. The changes will go
on to impact American ideals and policies. Furthermore, with industrial innovation,
the core concept of the American artisan will mature to an american worker. In other
words, during the time period of 1820 to 1848, politics and industry will start to
transform American society into systems and practices that will affect the future of
the United States. To begin with, the American political system developed into a
more involved citizen base. According to Document 6, the pattern of voter turnout
rose exponentially from in 1828. We also saw another great increase in voting in
1840. This rise in participation can be accredited to the domestic issues that impacted
America during the 1820s [Document 1]. One can also point out that the increase in
voter participation can be directly linked to women s suffrage. Women were
oppressed during those times; they ached for equality [Document 7].... Show more

They seeked to work with men in various different trades, professions. and commerce
[Document 7]. In addition to women changing the American industrial landscape,
manufacturing revolutionized it. At the beginning of the time period, artisanship was
mainly how people manufactured goods. They would use their skill from the comfort
of their home, with their family [Document 5]. Rising out of innovation, however,
was the birth of large manufacturing plants [Document 5]. This produced a cheaper,
and faster way to manufacture products; at the expense of weaker, more limited and
dependent workers [Document 2]. With this new work class coming to lead the
American industrial system, it increased inequality between the worker, and the
49. Differential Equations Of A Nonlinear System
5.1 Linearization
It can be seen clearly by the system s equation that the model belongs to a nonlinear
system. Normal differential equations can be created by the conversion of the
system into state space model format. When a control law is designed, Lagrange
equations of motion (9) are reformatted. To be able to carry this out, a state vector is
introduced which is as follows. x= (Оё Оё М‡ )^T
To be able to apply the LQR technique on the system, linearization is important.
Therefore the nonlinear model of the system turns into: Оё М€= D^( 1) CОё М‡ D^(
1) G+D^( 1) Hu (14)
After putting the variables of the system matrices in the above generalisation and
their derivatives, the system equation is as follows: x М‡=(в– (0 I@0 D^( 1)
C))x+(в– (0@гЂ– DгЂ—^( 1) C))+(в– (0@D^( 1) H))u (15)
Where I and 0 are identity and zero matrices respectively.
The system equation can be rewritten as: x М‡=f(x)+g(x)u (16)
Where
f(x)=(в– (0 I@0 D^( 1) C))x+(в– (0@гЂ– DгЂ—^( 1) C)) (17) g(x)=(в– (0@D^( 1)
H)) (18)

50. Case Study Chipotle
Chipotle has been a successful company in the United States ever since Steve Ells
launched the business in 1993. The business started in Colorado and has since has
expanded and grown to be successful to restaurants all over the U.S. Since it has been
so successful in the U.S, it is likely that it can be profitable in other nations around the
world. However, there are certain rules, regulations and implications that Chipotle
needs to explore before the business expands into global markets. Many businesses
jump to the conclusion of thinking that if a company can be successful in one area,
that it can be just as successful in another. Before making this assumption, businesses
need to expand on potential challenges that they might encounter
