Open Axel
OpenAxel connected over 10,000 ICT companies through a network and sourced around 1300 startup applications, selecting 18 startups overall. The selected startups received world-class mentoring, individual coaching, and a business trip to Silicon Valley. OpenAxel also published a white paper on best practices for corporate startup cooperation.
European Innovation Council
The European Innovation Council (EIC) is being established to better support market-creating innovations in Europe. The EIC will start as a pilot program from 2018-2020 to test preparatory measures like targeting high-risk innovations, easier proposal access, and blended financing. A full-fledged EIC may be proposed for the next research framework program FP9 based on the pilot's experience. The EIC aims to boost Europe's ability to foster disruptive companies that can create new industries and global markets.
Dealroom 2016 Venture Capital Report
