Travelport and IBM Blockchain | Think 2019IBM Blockchain
Travel technology provider Travelport has invested significantly in a digital transformation journey over the last several years. They recognize that Blockchain can improve efficiencies in the travel distribution marketplace, making distribution more affordable to long-tail content providers like B&Bs, small local boutique hotels, Airbnb hosts, excursion providers, etc. By utilizing IBM Blockchain, Travelport’s new solution will significantly reduce costs for managing travel content so that long-tail content providers can reach their travelers more efficiently and on a larger scale. Learn how the platform will unlock the marketplace for long-tail travel content and help small businesses compete in the fast-growing global travel industry.

How to use Artificial Intelligence in Times of Crisis
In this session we will discuss three real, tangible use cases for leveraging artificial intelligence and applied machine learning models to solve problems in times of crisis. We will walk through problem discovery, design, development and deployment of solutions that can change the world.
In this talk,we will cover 3 specific use cases:
Use of open datasets to solve the world's problems – a list of open datasets will be provided that the attendees can take away
Helping Educators deliver value and engage with students (building bots for classrooms) – a free tutorial that the attendees can take after the session to get hands on experience building a classroom bot
The Power of Voice to create a simpler and hands-free interface to even the most complicated applications – a list of voice-dev resources will be provided for those who want to dive into the world of Amazon Alexa
Industry pundits are predicting up to 50 billion connected devices by 2020, generating more data than in all of human history to date and connected via ubiquitous, connectivity such as 5G, Sigfox and NBIoT. With this comes the promise of business opportunities to deploy your Internet of Things solution. Ganga will walk you through the trends in computing that you need to be aware of, how you can get started and how working with Intel can accelerate your development and time to market.
Speaker: Ganga Varatharajan, IoT & New Technologies Manager, Intel
Aspiring Data scientist with over Two years of experience in projects. Skilled and work-ready expertise in python programming, statistics, machine learning algorithms, analytics, extracting, cleansing, data visualization, and rapid model building, including Web Development Domain expertise of built 10+ production-grade websites.
The marriage of blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) is a match made in heaven. Blockchain is a distributed ledger system that is secure, transparent and immutable. AI, on the other hand, is a powerful technology that can be used to analyze large data sets and identify patterns. When you combine the two technologies, you get a powerful solution that can be used to create decentralized applications (DApps) that are secure and efficient.
Introduction to artifcial intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) is intelligence demonstrated by machines, unlike the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals, which involves consciousness and emotionality. The distinction between the former and the latter categories is often revealed by the acronym chosen. 'Strong' AI is usually labelled as AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) while attempts to emulate 'natural' intelligence have been called ABI (Artificial Biological Intelligence). Leading AI textbooks define the field as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals.[3] Colloquially, the term "artificial intelligence" is often used to describe machines (or computers) that mimic "cognitive" functions that humans associate with the human mind, such as "learning" and "problem solving"

About Potato, The scientific name of the plant is Solanum tuberosum (L).Christina Parmionova
The potato is a starchy root vegetable native to the Americas that is consumed as a staple food in many parts of the world. Potatoes are tubers of the plant Solanum tuberosum, a perennial in the nightshade family Solanaceae. Wild potato species can be found from the southern United States to southern Chile
Synopsis (short abstract) In December 2023, the UN General Assembly proclaimed 30 May as the International Day of Potato.
RFP for Reno's Community Assistance CenterThis Is Reno
Property appraisals completed in May for downtown Reno’s Community Assistance and Triage Centers (CAC) reveal that repairing the buildings to bring them back into service would cost an estimated $10.1 million—nearly four times the amount previously reported by city staff.
Working with data is a challenge for many organizations. Nonprofits in particular may need to collect and analyze sensitive, incomplete, and/or biased historical data about people. In this talk, Dr. Cori Faklaris of UNC Charlotte provides an overview of current AI capabilities and weaknesses to consider when integrating current AI technologies into the data workflow. The talk is organized around three takeaways: (1) For better or sometimes worse, AI provides you with “infinite interns.” (2) Give people permission & guardrails to learn what works with these “interns” and what doesn’t. (3) Create a roadmap for adding in more AI to assist nonprofit work, along with strategies for bias mitigation.
