Advantages And Disadvantages Of Singlehood
Singlehood, which is defined as the state of being single and especially unmarried, is a rapidly
increasing relationship state in America. In fact, Statistics show that the 102 million single
people in the country make up about 44 percent of the entire population and those numbers are
steadily rising, (Garder, 2013). Though depending on what type of environment a person grew
up in, they may think being single is a waste or a sad situation, but they re just unaware of the
benefits of that type of life. Based on both research and my personal experiences I can conclude
that singlehood, while it may have its drawbacks, can defiantly benefit people in many ways.
While most teenage girls would beg to differ with the particular insight of the advantages of
being single outweighing the disadvantages, they cannot argue with the facts. There are a
number of studies that have found that being single can actually contribute to success in many
parts of one s life. For one, people who are single tend to stay in touch with their families and
socialize with the neighbors more than married people do and it s said that they also get the
most out of life. A great deal of single people stated that they feel as if their life has been a
continuous process of learning, changing, and growth and that they think it is important to have
new experiences that challenge how you think about yourself and the world. When comparing
that to the constant complaining and regret voiced by married individuals, one can t really help
but admit which situation is preferable. Singlehood also gives an individual more time to
accomplish personal tasks, such as shopping, volunteering or merely relaxing after a long day at
work. Single people aren t, for lack of a better word, chained down, to anyone, so if they need to
spend more time focus on their career or personal enjoyment, they can. Due to this, single people
usually do become more successful and productive in their jobs because they don t have to
stress or compromise the quality of their work as those who have a partner or family do. These
individuals are also able to manage their money more carefully and when they only have their own
expenses to worry about, it s easier to get ahead of bills

`` Wrong Headed Victory `` By Michael Le Page
On his journey through his local Wal Mart, Bob stops to examine two ears of corn. The size, price,
and nutrition facts are the same. The only difference between them is on their labelling: Natural
and Genetically Modified. Bob, like many other people, instinctively chooses the natural option
without much thought.
Michael Le Page admits in his article Wrong Headed Victory, that he would unconsciously make
the same choice as Bob. He does not think it should be that way though. Through his article, he
effectively describes how to overcome the opposition of genetically modified food, and not through
the removal of labels.
Le Page s article starts by describing an ideal world, where in which people could always choose
if they wanted to consume genetically modified food products or not. He then argues that this is
not a perfect and ideal world, where billions of people are starving because there is not enough
food. Le Page also pronounces that this number will continue to grow as the earth s population
continues to increase and farming becomes more expensive. He then claims that farming is
contributing to global warming and the world needs a more efficient method of producing food.
Le Page enlightens the reader that the technology needed to accomplish that task already exists
through genetically modified food, but there are multiple reasons why it has not been fully utilized
yet. One of the problems is that the poorer countries do not have the money to afford these better

The Irony Of The Sinner
While traveling through Hell, Dante the pilgrim encountered numerous sinners on each level, all
prepared to tell their tales of misfortune and transgression. However, though some ask Dante to
remember them or tell their stories on Earth, most of them speak for their own gain, not simply to
educate Dante on the penalties of their sins. Each sinner appears to wallow in the past, isolating
themselves in their sinand occasionally ignoring Dante as a person entirely. Even when these
sinners find themselves physically trapped together with another soul, they remain lonely and
miserable in their suffering: they have deprived themselves of the forgiveness and love God
offered them and now must find something else to love. As they have rejected God, these sinners
still seek to fill that void of emptiness to which they have forever condemned themselves. In Dante
Alighieri s Inferno, the irony of the sinner s contrappaso reflects the irony that, even in the suffering
they have brought upon themselves, they have a misplaced love in their sin in place of the love
God offered them.
In Canto V, Dante encounters the Francesca and Paulo, who have thrown away their chance for
heaven for one another, yet enjoyed the action of sinning itself more then each other s company.
As soon as Dante the pilgrim comes upon the pair, Francesca relates the tale of their sin,
explaining how this one, who never shall be parted from me, while all his body trembled, kissed
my mouth....that day we read no

A Night At The Pink Poodle
The use of a journey narrative as both an archetypal plot device, and a technique that facilitates and
informs character development, is an enduring literary trope, likely as old as literature itself. The
mere fact that journey narratives have persisted in literature, without inherently being regarded as
overused, outdated, or clichГ©d, is indicative of the impact and influence this technique has when
executed effectively. Additionally, this is testament to its adaptability, and capacity to complement
and integrate within various styles and genres. Conventional journey narratives often follow a basic
structure, contributing to reader expectation that a vast, far reaching journey should be inherently
reflected by vast emotional progress, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It will therefore argue that, while journeys undoubtedly have cultural significance and personal
implications, and inner journeys influence the nature, trajectory, and perception of outer journeys,
and vice versa, the manifestations of these journeys do not necessarily reflect one another in a
traditional sense. To demonstrate this, the necessity of these characters undertaking journeys, and
thus the personal implications of these journeys, will be analysed. Further, the influence of culture
on Icarus and Damon s respective journeys will be detailed and investigated. Finally, Damon and
Icarus internal and external journeys, as well as their awareness of, and ability to actively or
passively participate in these journeys, will be compared and contrasted. Ultimately, such analyses
will establish that journey narratives are subjective, complex, and nuanced, and even between two
comparable pieces of literature can vary greatly in conception, application, and influence. In order to
understand the deeper meanings and implications of Damon and Icarus respective journeys, it is
imperative to first understand the personal motivations driving these journeys, and the necessity of
undertaking them. Although Icarus rarely explicitly refers to his physical journey, focussing instead
on his internal journey, it is predominantly borne out of his cruelty to Tin Head, and a subsequent
search for redemption and

Narrative Essay On Franks
The scream could be heard from miles away. Giselle was walking home from work when the
most beautiful thing she had ever seen presented itself in front of her. It sparkled on the floor,
glistening in the sun. It s purple color made it pop out from the plain gray sidewalk. Once Giselle
spotted it, she couldn t help herself. She had to let out all of the joy she felt inside by screaming
as loud as she could. She plucked the dazzling purpleglasses from the dangerous, scratchy ground
and inspected them. They were as clear as a freshly installed window. She wondered if she should
try them on, but figured it would be too risky. Her fur might stick to it, which would take away
some of it s beauty, and she could not bear to feel that guilt. Instead,... Show more content on

The Death Of A Soft Sigh
With a soft sigh, the teenaged rebel rests his back against the rough tree and twirls the green piece
of hay between his lips. An elderly woman and a child around seven pass under the branch,
completely unaware that they are being watched. A smirk crosses the brunette youth s face as the
small child runs off the path and into the woods.
Maniko! Boy, get back here! The woman scolds her giggling grandson.
The grumbling duo eventually continue their way down the road towards Ba Sing Se. After they re
out sight, the young man gracefully jumps to the ground. He takes a deep breath before whistling a
series of notes loudly, before beginning to count and leaning his back against the thick tree.

Okay, Jet. The three nod before turning away and silently heading back to the camp.
Squeezing his eyes shut, Jet collapses onto the ground and drops his blades. He sits there for over

Smellerbee takes a bite of the bread roll, then sets it in front of her all while watching Longshot

Antisocial Personality Disorder And Psychopathy
What is Antisocial Personality Disorder?
Antisocial Personality Disorder is a disorder that is characterized by a long standing pattern of
disregard for other people s rights, often crossing the line and violating those rights. A person with
Antisocial Personality Disorder often feels little or no empathy toward other people, and doesn t
see the problem in bending or breaking the law for their own needs or wants. The disorder usually
begins in childhood or as a teen and continues into adulthood. Individuals with Antisocial
Personality Disorder frequently lack empathy and tend to be heartless, distrustful, and
condescending of the feelings, rights, and sufferings of others. They are also known to be

The British Government And The European Union
The British government is the process of negotiating reforms before it holds a referendum about
whether Britain should remain a member of the European Union or withdraw. While reforms are
demanded publicly in four areas, there are issues behind those demands that are seldom pronounced
openly.
The demand for change in economic governance, competitiveness, immigration and sovereignty
have been already put in the public domain. In economic governmance, London does not want to
concede more powers to Brussels, to join the euro and to be part of the ever closer union in Europe.
Britain believes that excessive regulation by Brussels has reduced European, particularly British
competitiveness. Therefore it would like to see the European Union s power to regulate diminished.
It also wants to exercise greater control over its border and impose certain restrictions on the
welfare payment to new migrants in Britain from Europen Union members. And it wants to return
some of the powers to the British parliament that were conceded to the union.
The British cabinet, businesses, and people are divided on the issue. The division in the cabinet is
so deep that Prime Minister Cameron, who supports remaining in a reformed EU, has allowed his
ministers to choose their side without the fear of losing their jobs. For instance, the foreign
secretary support Cameron s position while the defence secretary doe not.
Although most businesses seem to support staying in the European Union, a minority

Justification Is Defined As An Act Essay
Justification is defined as an act in which God declares all those who accept Him as their
personal savior as being righteous and the penalty of sin is removed from their lives by Him.
God removes a person who has faith in Him from a state of sin to a state of righteousness. It is
stated in the book of Corinthians 5:21 that, For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin
so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. The term is derived from the Greek
word dikaiosis which is a legal term that means to make a person righteous . The council of
Trent, view justification as a change in a person from being a child of Adam to being adopted by
grace, to be among the heirs of God through the second Adam who is JesusChrist (Denzinger, 1524
pg 115). In the New Testament, Paul declares that the law and prophets in the Old Testament
are
witnesses to how God s is right in justifying those who are righteous at heart. In saying so, Paul
declared that justification is an aspect that is clearly visible in the Old Testament. Although
justification is not brought out as a subject in the bible, its mention or aspect in the biblical
account serves as evidence of God s purpose for His people. (Surburg 129)
Two aspects constitute Justification include the human sinful ways and their divine grace found in
them. The two are evidenced ever since creation of man in the book of genesis took place. This
biblical account of creation states that upon completion of the universe, in the

Islamic Finance Within Compliance Of Sharia Law
Introduction
Islamic finance within compliance of Sharia law form the core of Islamic banking and have
become one of the fastest growing segments of the financial industry, operating in over 75 countries
(Cihak,Hesse2008). Islamic finance initially was concentrated in the Middle East and South East
Asia, but is now found globally. The roots of Islamic finance stemmed from the efforts of Islamic
scholars to identify alternatives to the interest based system that is prohibited and condemned by
Allah within the Quran. Islamic finance also prohibits the practice of lending money for
investments in tobacco, alcohol, gambling and weapons per Sharia law. In the wake of the global

create exposure to the real sector and must ensure efficient risk management (citation needed). The
second principle revolves around the profit and loss sharing concept, where any financial
transaction must share both risk and reward so excessive losses and profits are minimized. The
third principle prohibits uncertainty and/or speculation. Uncertainty in contractual terms and
conditions is forbidden, however, risk taking is allowed only when all terms and conditions are
clearly outlined to all participating parties. The last principle requires the use of asset backing,
where each financial transaction must relate to tangible and/or identifiable underlying assets that
ensure Islamic banks remain connected to the real economy. A better understanding of Islamic
finance is called for in all respects.
Islamic Finance Historical and Religious beginnings
Islamic finance took its roots at the beginning of the 7th century when the Prophet Muhammad
claimed to have received revelations directly from God (Allah). At the time of these revelations the
current standards/rules of financial operations were derived from the Quran and the Sunna,
however, since then there has been a continuing process of coordinated adjustment

Generals Die In Bed Analysis
The harsh reality of war distinguishes the leaders that exert power and the followers that can t.
In the novel, Generals Die In Bed by Charles Yale Harrison, Harrison outlines the hardships of a
soldier s life. As the story progressed the soldiers learned the bitter truth of war when they
realized how small of a saying they had in the grand scheme of things. The soldiers had no control
over their own decisions as their lives are exploited for the benefits of others.
The soldiers were victims of the manipulative actions by their officers. In the war, the generals
manipulated the soldiers thoughts and emotions and used them as their pawns. An example is when
one of the generals delivered the news to the soldiers about the Germans torpedoing a hospital ship,

Trobriand Islands Summary
Through his fieldwork in the Trobriand Islands, Malinowski was trying to prove that the native
people had same levels of cognitive reasoning as civilized societies. Primitive man was much
more rational and pragmatic than previous anthropologist had perceived them to be. The
traditional practices of the Trobrianders was a significant part of the functioning of the
community. They also played an important role in the trade system and social stability of the
Trobrianders as well. The Trobrianders participated in magic rituals to help them assuage their fear
and get on with the duties required of them, especially situations beyond their control. Magic
helped the psychological well being of the native people in order for individuals to participate...

Malinowski established the theory of functionalism to describe and explain the Trobriand Islands
culture and the many different beliefs and rituals of magic that connect to satisfy the social and
psychological needs of individuals within the community. Evans Pritchard analyzes the Azande
belief and ritual system of witches and witchcraft as a means to explain the society s structure and
how they function as a whole. Similarly, both anthropologists argue against stereotypes and
presumptions about primitive societies. However, Evans Pritchard tries to give the local people s
point of view; understand their consciousness and behaviors through their own reality. Rather than
a scientific approach to anthropological fieldwork, he has more of a humanist one. He uses the
ethnographic data from his fieldwork to compare the social structure of the Azande in place with
civilized societies. And unlike Malinowski who did not use historical methodology in his
ethnography, Evans Pritchard stepped into the Zande people s shoes in order to understand their
logic and moral systems that structured their society. Malinowski showed how the belief in magic
and rituals was fundamental to the basic needs of the Trobrianders in order to function in society,
thus focused more on the individual participants. Evans Pritchard, however, focused on the entire
social structure of the Azande in order to understand primitive logic. Overall, Malinowski s
ethnography on primitive man, the Trobrianders, explains the biological and psychological needs
and functions of the individual within the community whereas, Evans Pritchard s ethnography on
primitive society, the Azande, explains the sociological and structural systems in place to enable the

Descriptive Essay On The Mountains
Going and taking micro adventures to the mountains which were fairly close to my house was a
bit of a semi common thing, however going with only friends of mine was a thing I didn t do at
all. When the suggestion to go up by my friend Alex was made, Jesse and I quickly agreed to go
along with this plan. We then proceeded to make our way to the mountain and as we were driving
up I decidedto chime in and make a suggestion, saying We should climbup from the base of the
waterfall everybody else quickly agreed since that seemed to be a nice little leisure activity for a
group of teenagers. With the weather slowly warming melting the snow on the mountains
causing water flow the scenery was just gorgeous, with many rocks having a bright reflective
look caused by the sun and water interacting. This scenery was just perfect for a climb up the fall.
As we climbed we all took notice of just how pretty the mountain was. Seeing trees, rocks, water
spiders, and many other things we don t see every single day. As we continued up the mountain
we eventually got this amazing area with some more reflective brown gorgeous rocks that were
similar to a bunch of tiny steps. With all the water running down the rocks my dark brown
Sperry s I decided to wear started to show why they were called boat shoes this is because they
were quite good at sticking to surfaces without slipping. Even though highly unorthodox with
my shoes for some reason they seemed to work quite well except for coming untied more times
than I would have enjoyed. As we continued to climb we took a few group pictures as well as
making a fair amount of jokes to help ease our minds off of the physical work we were putting
into climbing up this mountain. After we climbed up for about fifteen minutes much of the
rocks that had places for our feet to go into and cradle providing full support were gone and
being left with solely smooth rocks that if you wanted you could slide down with relative ease.
So the rate at which we were scaling these rocks had to slow, however not terribly but our speed
was crippled by being a little more cognizant and careful. Never the less we continued to climb up,
eventually a few more these rocksteps showed up and of course we

The Power and Genius of Alexander Pushkin’s The Queen of...
The Power and Genius of Alexander Pushkin s The Queen of Spades
In Alexander Pushkin s The Queen of Spades, many aspects of the short story have made for
considerable debate among scholars. Pushkin fills an integral role in Russian literary history, and
there are abundant research sources to use in analyzing and interpreting his texts. Pushkin is often
referred to as the Father of Modern Russian Literature, but until just recently much of the criticism
on Pushkin focused on Pushkin himself as the author, the innovative simplicity in his prose, or the
political relationship between Pushkin and the Russian aristocracy. Pushkin s personal life was
often the subject of public debate among his readers and the Russian aristocracy, ... Show more

Evelyn Bristol reviewed Greenleaf s book and determined the thesis stated that Pushkin s works
were endeavors to define and express himself in segments or fragments in romantic style (Bristol
127). In another review by Caryl Emerson, Greenleaf s argument is defined as a complete
opposite of Bristol s interpretation. From Greenleaf s investigation, Emerson expounds that
Pushkin attempted to portray nothing of himself in his writing for fear of the honor code that
dictated everyday life. It is described as pre psychological age of Russian literature in that Pushkin
did not at all illustrate any characteristics of himself in his writing including personal documents
and correspondence with family and friends. The inverse deductions of Greenleaf s thesis are
hardly sporadic. New scholars are unable to determine the best sources of intellectual research
when the research that is available is contradictory. Neil Cornwell s Pushkin s The Queen of Spades

Don Siegel cunningly and cleverly utilizes film grammar and the mise en scene to promote a

Dirty Harry and its controversial political message. Some believe that the filmis a visual
embodiment of how the Warren Court went too far in regulating the way police officials do their

held that statements obtained through interrogation were valid only so long as it could be
demonstrated that the suspect had willingly waved his fifth amendment right not to incriminate his

that the evidence against Scorpio is inadmissible and consequently he can go free. First, Callahan

Environmental Scanning And Key Risk Indicators
Indeed, there are multiple tools that can be utilized to determine organization risk, such as Risk
Analysis Questionnaire, Financial Statement Method, Flowchart Method, On Site Inspections,
Environmental Scanning, and Key Risk Indicators (Fraser Simkins, 2010). Ultimately, I chose to
use Environmental Scanning and Key RiskIndicators to assess The Kroger Company s risk.
Comparatively, each tool offers unique advantages and viewpoints of the organization s operations,
current risk, and perceived future risk.
So, why did I choose Environmental Scanning and Key Risk Indicators as the tools to identify
risk within Kroger? First, the decision had to made as to the type of risk to identify, such as
environmental, regulatory, political, or technological. Then, the determination was made as to who
or what would be impacted by the risk, so there were questions to be asked, such as:
What is the business risks within Kroger s market or industry?
What impact would be caused as a result of changes in market conditions, such fluctuations in
prices, interest rates, and exchange rates?
What would happen as a result of operational risks associated with internal system failures because
of mechanical problems or human errors?
What legal risks could occur from failure to meet contractual obligations? (Risk, 2009).
After determining the risk to be identified, I reviewed each tool to choose the one that best
diagnosed risk exposure. Thus, the Risk Analysis Questionnaire is a checklist

Jamestown Vs Plymouth Plantation Essay
The Jamestown and Plymouth Plantation were big acts to our history today. Both plantations were
similar and different in many ways. Jamestown was uniquely harsh, and I could somewhat say the
same about the Plymouth plantation as well. In a matter of fact, the Jamestown and Plymouth
plantation caused a ruckus in their towns/state, enough ruckus to maintain it s name and strength of
time. Starting with Jamestown, it was a scarce plantation. Sailors got what they called better paid
due to the ships staying for a longer. They weren t paid in money, but they were paid with bread,
which was a good item to sell, barter, and love etc. There was something established called the
surprise attack. This attack included Smith unexpectedly returning, the Spaniard greedily desiring
gold, and Smith gets shot in the thigh. Jamestown s plantation was violent, and deceiving. Leading
to the Plymouth Plantation, although the ships were very compact, they had an abundance of
things accomplished. There were a lot of sicknesses and cursing. They were very religious with
their beliefs. For example, they were against cursing, indecisive manners and such. Their sails were
very calm and undergoing, yet they ship wasn t that sturdy. There were some rough... Show more

The Legal Drinking Age At The United States Of America
Vinny Messina Professor Newell ENC 1102 03 May 2015 Time to Look at the Facts There have
been many recent debates on the subject of the legal age to drink alcoholic beverages in the
United States of America. Some otherwise intelligent people want to lower the legal drinking
age to eighteen rather than keep it at twenty one, the current federally mandated drinking age. In
Time Magazine Mary Cary, author of Time to Lower the Drinking Age, puts forth the position
that lowering the drinking age would actually be beneficial to society. Though lowering the
drinking age to eighteen may lead to solutions to underage drinking, many other, more
dangerous issues may arise from teenagers who begin to drink earlier in life; this is the greater
matter that and it should not be overlooked on this issue. According to Mary Cary, lowering the
drinking age would not increase drunk driving and the deaths associated with it. She believes
that the issue of drunk driving has already been addressed and that the problem no longer exists.
She states that, Thanks to MADD, drunken driving isn t the problem it used to be, and she
mentions that this is the case because, we now throw the book at drunken drivers in this country
(Cary). While both of these issues may be true, she does not connect these two facts to lowering
the drinking age. Lowering the drinking age may, in fact, increase the risk of drunk driving since
alcohol will be more readily available to young people who have a reputation

The Outbreak Of Ebola Virus
The Ebola virus is a pandemic that is of much concern around the world, lately. It was not always
a concern of this magnitude. Ebolavirus is the etiologic agent. It is a relatively new virus,
introduced just in 1970. It was first discovered in Sudan and Zaire (it was named after the Ebola
river is Zaire). The first outbreak occurred in Sudan infecting about 284 people, with a mortality
rate of 53% (Waterman, 1999). Just a few months later, the second strain of the Ebolavirus (Eboz)
became prevalent in Zaire. It had a much higher mortality rate than the strand in Sudan (Ebola
Sudan) of 88% and is still to this day the strain of Ebola with the highest mortality rate. It
infected 318 people during the outbreak of Zaire. Two more strains of this deadly virus were
discovered in 1989 and in 1994, but the mortality rate of those not as high as their predecessors.
Most of the Ebola cases throughout history were located in western and southern Africa in
countries such as Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria (CDC, 2014). Recently, within the
last month, Senegal and the US have seen their first cases of the virus. The new cases have

Langston Hughes Equality
As we age we gain more knowledge, experience, and become wiser individuals. Your views on a
subject may change because of your new found knowledge or experience. A clear example of this
is Langston Hughes and his change in attitude towards racial equality in America as expressed
through three of his poems, I, Too, Sing America , Let America Be America Again , and A Dream
Deferred . Langston Hugheswrote this first poem, I, Too, Sing America , when he was in his 20 s
and still very young. The theme of this poem is that blacks will soon get equal rights. Hughes set
a confident and bold tone in this poem because it sounds like he is demanding equality. In the
poem, he starts by talking about how African Americans are discriminated against, then he states
that tomorrow he will be eating with the whites and they will be ashamed of themselves for ever
discriminating against blacks after the whites see their true beauty. Due to the tone, the speaker
seems young and charismatic. The speaker of the poem also plays a major role on the perspective,
because the speaker represents how Hughes felt about the subject. In the poem, the speaker is...

Hughes contrasts his hopes for America with the reality of life of being a minority. He even talks

losing but still has hope for America. At the start of the poem, Hughes is begging for the American
dream to become reality. But by the end he starts talking about how we must take back America to
make it great again. The change in tone from negative to positive leads the reader to still believe in

Descriptive Essay On A Walk In The Park
A Walk in the Park A ways away from a town that I call home, I found a happy place. I often find
myself walking through the park by myself. The beautiful trees, the way the yellow and red
leaves crumple under my feet every step I take. When the flowers bloom and how it s the most
spectacular sight you could ever imagine seeing, all the different colors that appear. When you
breathe in and you get this smell of purity, you feel free and alive. Sometimes I like to sit on the
old wooden bench where the bench frame is a little rusted, and I get rid of my thoughts and my
eyes search the sky. In the winter the icy breeze makes me shiver, and the cold air I take in, is like
sitting in front of an air conditioner and breathingin. Some mornings the sunbeams across the sky,
which is not quite blue yet, but the sun has almost fully risen. When the wind blows, it grazes
over the blades of grass. Some days I just stand and take a deep breath in and I can taste the
spring. When summer comes around, and the bees are buzzing, and the hot sun beats on the
back of my neck, I lay on the soft grass and listen, to the birds chirping a beautiful song, and the
kids playing in the park. The sky is the bluest view in sight. Walking through the trail full of mud
and leaves always made me think about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and
get things off my mind. Looking around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like
butterflies, all different colors. When they stopped, they immediately died and they were not
coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled up under trees and children ran and jumped on them
like they were pillows. These trees tripled the height of humans with numerous branches holding
hundreds of leaves. While walking the river flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun
shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds chirping and floating through the smooth water
puts a joy to my face. I found a rest area with a bench and by it was a fountain. The ripple of
water and the singing that the birds formed made it peaceful to sit there and study the fountain. Just
appreciating the little things in life and realizing what all I have and have overcome is what the
park helps me

Risk Management Plan For A Company
Risk Management
The process that helps project managers follow when they need to calculate, identify, and
manage risk in a company is defined as Risk Management. When a company faces risk, risk
management would be the ideal solution to use that to solve the known and unknown risks. Risk
management plans should be ready to help reduce and prevent those risks because most risks in a
company are uncertain. When a company is facing risks that are uncertain, these risks come up
very fast and they could be potentially harmful. They should be treated right away. Of course the
work must be performed first as long as they are not of sever threat. Perform the work as planned
keeping in mind those uncertain risks.

This can ensure that employees are focused on their jobs and not getting distracted. Another
prevention method could be moving dangerous equipment s to a different side of the factory
where special safety precautions are implemented. Performing necessary maintenance on factory
equipment can also reduce the likelihood of an accident. (Larcker and Miller, 2014). Having
regular safety meeting with employees can reduce factory accidents. Managers have to be
involved to make sure employees are safe at the workplace. These are some of the precautions we
can take to prevent the likelihood of a risk.
There are prevention methods available for companies to use, these are: risk management
techniques which include risk avoidance, loss control, risk retention, and risk transfer, risk
mitigation plan, risk analysis, mitigation plan implementation, risk assessment table, and risk matrix.
Areas of Risk Management
There are many areas to focus on when it comes to risk management, depending on your company s
infrastructure; risk management is going to be different. The areas of risk management will include
compliance risks, financial risks, operational risks, and strategic risks.
Compliance risks will involve industry standards and regulatory and statuary standards. Financial
risks will include loss of revenues, exchange rate losses, purchasing practices, performance and
schedule, and lawsuits for facility injuries.

Essay On The Impact Of Technology On World War 1
The effect of weapon technology had a big impact on World War One. World World I was the most
important turning point of the 20th century. It destroyed most of Europe and destroyed four
empires while also creating many new nations. It triggered the Russian Revolution and set the bases
for Balkan Middle Eastern conflicts that remain unresolved. World War Iwas the war fought mainly
in Europe and the Middle East, between the Central Powers and the Allies. World War I occurred
on July 28, 1914 and ended on November 11, 1918, with the collapse of the Central Powers.

Able carry greater bomb loads over far longer distances than early aeroplanes, they were soon
employed by the Germans to carry the war to Britain itself. Most aggressive nations used airships
mainly for exploration and observation missions, but today it is the attack of the German
Zeppelins that are best remembered. In the days leading up to World War I, when aeroplane flight
had been possible for only 10 years, there existed a large body of opinion that the future of military
flying lay as much with lighter aircraft.
The career of Peter Strasser parallels the story of the German airship service. Promoted Leader of
Airships in 1913, he led the first strategic bombing campaign in history. The defences eventually
mastered the Zeppelin threat, but as Germany s defeat loomed near in August 1918 Strasser led
another raid. His chosen craft the powerful Zeppelin built.
To prosecute a war on such a scale meant, for the British in particular, continuous and guaranteed
movement of men and many materials which, demanded full control of the sea. Through this it was
possible also to effectively deny the sea to the enemy. Close blockade, as practiced during the early
19th century, had been rendered impracticable by the submarine, the torpedo s and the mine, so this
front line function of the battleship had

The Current State Of The Cambodian Traditional Music...
Although the scholarly research is able to see the current state of the Cambodian traditional music
revival and the large impact of cultural music education, it fails to see the external benefits of this
music that promotes a culture of peace, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and
its contribution to sustainable development.29 This cultural benefit is one of the biggest answers to
the question of why this musiceducation and the survival of traditional music is important. Despite
the lack of coverage this element receives from most scholarly research, it has been widely
recognized by United Nations, the NGOs working in these projects, and through regular reporting
from onlookers. First of all, UNESCO recognized the importance of traditional Khemer performing
arts and the education of those arts through several projects.30 Secondy, the NGOs who work on
teaching traditional music have reported therapeutic values that their students have gained, leading
to a more sustainable lifestyle for those affected by the trauma that has impacted Cambodia.31
Outside writers have also observed the ways in which music education and revival can positively
impact the country in the aforementioned ways.
Between 2001 2002, UNESCO, along with Japan Funds in Trust implemented a project known as
Rehabilitation of Cambodian Performing Arts: Preservation and Promotion of the Intangible

What Is The Use Of Metaphors In Film Theory
Thomas Elsaesser utilizes a variety of metaphors in his novel Film Theory: An Introduction
Through the Senses in order in to analyze and interpret an audience s perception of cinema. As
cinema serves as a mechanism for audience members to enter a phantasmatic body, the creators of
a film must appeal to the audience in order to engage their curiosity, emotions, and interest. This
allows for a viewer to develop expectations and desires, and ultimately draw a conclusion from the
filmabout the real world. Howard Hawks 1938 film Bringing Up Baby captures these diegetic
elements presented by Elsaesser, especially the comparisons of cinema as a window and frame,
eye, ear, and brain. The film defies the traditional romance formula, and instead combines screwball
comedy and classic Hollywood cinema... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hawks accomplishes this through using the screen as a barrier, and appealing to the relationships
between cinema and the window and frame, eye, ear, and brain analyzed by Elsaesser. This allows
for the characters and their motives to become identifiable, and for the audience to apply these
universal themes to real situations. The conclusion of the film is comprised of Susan delivering the
clavicle to David, and then accidentally destroying the baby of his previous relationship. As the
film does not have a clear cut resolution, the audience understands that there is a sense of
imperfection and continuous adventure associated with marriages. This implies that it is acceptable
for men and women to not abide by strict gender roles, but rather work as a team to resolve
conflicts. Because the film was successful in incorporating elements to captivated the visual, audial,
and sentimental senses of the audience, it is possible for these profound themes to resonate with
the audience members, and alter their personal views these situations in

Innocence Of Death In Macbeth
Macbeth by Shakespeare is a play about envy, greed, impatience, revenge and copious amounts of
death. Most of the death in the play was completely unjust and unnecessary. The play isn t really a
plea for peace and harmony, but more of a lesson that greed and impatience will be your ultimate
demise. Although honorable and dishonorable death is not plainly distinguished and stated, it is
very obvious. For example, when Macbethjust had to speed up the process of being crowned king,
he decided killing an innocent person was the right way to go. Macbeth s first death includes our
main character, Macbeth, and the king of Scotland. After the first prediction by the three
mythological witches (who also seem to be the source for all of the insanity), Fate, comes true
and he is Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth goes mad and decides that murdering the king will speed up
the process. He would have become king with or without the blood on his hands; he was just too
impatient and couldn t take the taunting and teasing from his wife. When the deed was done,

Explanation Of The Term Cultural Relativism

`
Cultural Relativism is a view that all ethics, beliefs, and customs an individual has within their own
social context are relative. It is an idea that is accepted amongst various modern anthropologists. In
fact modern anthropologists believe all cultures are to be observed from a completely neutral
standpoint for all cultures equally express the existence of humans. Since cultures must be observed
neutrally, it is easily seen that right and wrong are purely decided by culture specific influences. Is
is also then easy to see that culture influences themselves start to become relative. Religion is one
the biggest deciding factors when discussing good and evil within a culture. This is because ... Show

The Pros And Cons Of Nazi Eugenics
During the reign of Adolf Hitler, Europe was taken into a state of chaos. German physicians were
called to extermination camps. The reason was straightforward to them: They were called to
camps to try to unlock the secrets of genetic engineering, hands stretched out in reach to get closer
to creating the Aryan, or superior race. The use of Nazi eugenics was supported by the German
government in order to create the Aryan and to exterminate those who did not fit into their criteria.
They promoted the use of biology to accomplish their goals of racial purity, a core concept in the
Nazi ideology. Physicians were attracted to the scientific ideology and aided in the establishment of
National Socialist Physicians League in 1929 to purify the German medical community of Jewish
Bolshevism. (Grodin 371). However, today it seems they were there solely to kill camp inmates as
painfully as possible. These acts of torture were characterized by several shocking features: victims
were forced to become subjects in very dangerous studies against their will; nearly all subjects
endured incredible suffering, mutilation, and unimaginable pain, and the experiments often were
deliberately designed to terminate in a fatal outcome. The accounts for the medical exploits are
numerous, ranging from conjoined twins experiments to phenol injections, high altitude
experiments, tests of resurrections by placing humans in extreme temperatures, and artificial
insemination. The Nazi medical experiments

Thomas Paine And John Paine Essay
Introduction Thomas Paine was born to Joseph Paine and Francis Cocke Paine in January, 1737.
Paine s father was Quaker, and his mother was Anglican. The religious controversies haunted
Paine throughout his life. His personal life ended in divorce and destitution. After barely avoiding
debtor s prison in 1774, a mutual friend introduced Paine to Benjamin. This introduction would
change the course of Paine s life. Franklin was immediately impressed with Paine and wrote a
letter of introduction for him. Paine suffered physical illness on his journey that very nearly killed
him, but he managed to survive the trip and arrived in Philadelphia September of 1774. After this
new start, Paine began his career of publishing articles and pamphlets in the colonies. His first
published essay was African Slavery in America. This article argued that slavery was unjust and
inhumane. Paine also wrote and co edited the Pennsylvania Magazine. He used this format to
express new ideas and learn about his audience. In January of 1776, Paine published Common
Sense, which would unite his fellow colonists on a path to either freedom or high treason. Paine
continued to publish throughout the ensuing revolution. He published a series of essays titled the
American Crisis Papers. These sixteen papers flamed the embers kindled by Common Sense; they
urged the colonists to fight against their perpetual enslavement by Great Britain. Although Paine s
early works often sold out, his contemporaries later

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Singlehood Singlehood, which is defined as the state of being single and especially unmarried, is a rapidly increasing relationship state in America. In fact, Statistics show that the 102 million single people in the country make up about 44 percent of the entire population and those numbers are steadily rising, (Garder, 2013). Though depending on what type of environment a person grew up in, they may think being single is a waste or a sad situation, but they re just unaware of the benefits of that type of life. Based on both research and my personal experiences I can conclude that singlehood, while it may have its drawbacks, can defiantly benefit people in many ways. While most teenage girls would beg to differ with the particular insight of the advantages of being single outweighing the disadvantages, they cannot argue with the facts. There are a number of studies that have found that being single can actually contribute to success in many parts of one s life. For one, people who are single tend to stay in touch with their families and socialize with the neighbors more than married people do and it s said that they also get the most out of life. A great deal of single people stated that they feel as if their life has been a continuous process of learning, changing, and growth and that they think it is important to have new experiences that challenge how you think about yourself and the world. When comparing that to the constant complaining and regret voiced by married individuals, one can t really help but admit which situation is preferable. Singlehood also gives an individual more time to accomplish personal tasks, such as shopping, volunteering or merely relaxing after a long day at work. Single people aren t, for lack of a better word, chained down, to anyone, so if they need to spend more time focus on their career or personal enjoyment, they can. Due to this, single people usually do become more successful and productive in their jobs because they don t have to stress or compromise the quality of their work as those who have a partner or family do. These individuals are also able to manage their money more carefully and when they only have their own expenses to worry about, it s easier to get ahead of bills ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. `` Wrong Headed Victory `` By Michael Le Page On his journey through his local Wal Mart, Bob stops to examine two ears of corn. The size, price, and nutrition facts are the same. The only difference between them is on their labelling: Natural and Genetically Modified. Bob, like many other people, instinctively chooses the natural option without much thought. Michael Le Page admits in his article Wrong Headed Victory, that he would unconsciously make the same choice as Bob. He does not think it should be that way though. Through his article, he effectively describes how to overcome the opposition of genetically modified food, and not through the removal of labels. Le Page s article starts by describing an ideal world, where in which people could always choose if they wanted to consume genetically modified food products or not. He then argues that this is not a perfect and ideal world, where billions of people are starving because there is not enough food. Le Page also pronounces that this number will continue to grow as the earth s population continues to increase and farming becomes more expensive. He then claims that farming is contributing to global warming and the world needs a more efficient method of producing food. Le Page enlightens the reader that the technology needed to accomplish that task already exists through genetically modified food, but there are multiple reasons why it has not been fully utilized yet. One of the problems is that the poorer countries do not have the money to afford these better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Irony Of The Sinner While traveling through Hell, Dante the pilgrim encountered numerous sinners on each level, all prepared to tell their tales of misfortune and transgression. However, though some ask Dante to remember them or tell their stories on Earth, most of them speak for their own gain, not simply to educate Dante on the penalties of their sins. Each sinner appears to wallow in the past, isolating themselves in their sinand occasionally ignoring Dante as a person entirely. Even when these sinners find themselves physically trapped together with another soul, they remain lonely and miserable in their suffering: they have deprived themselves of the forgiveness and love God offered them and now must find something else to love. As they have rejected God, these sinners still seek to fill that void of emptiness to which they have forever condemned themselves. In Dante Alighieri s Inferno, the irony of the sinner s contrappaso reflects the irony that, even in the suffering they have brought upon themselves, they have a misplaced love in their sin in place of the love God offered them. In Canto V, Dante encounters the Francesca and Paulo, who have thrown away their chance for heaven for one another, yet enjoyed the action of sinning itself more then each other s company. As soon as Dante the pilgrim comes upon the pair, Francesca relates the tale of their sin, explaining how this one, who never shall be parted from me, while all his body trembled, kissed my mouth....that day we read no ... • 6. A Night At The Pink Poodle The use of a journey narrative as both an archetypal plot device, and a technique that facilitates and informs character development, is an enduring literary trope, likely as old as literature itself. The mere fact that journey narratives have persisted in literature, without inherently being regarded as overused, outdated, or clichГ©d, is indicative of the impact and influence this technique has when executed effectively. Additionally, this is testament to its adaptability, and capacity to complement and integrate within various styles and genres. Conventional journey narratives often follow a basic structure, contributing to reader expectation that a vast, far reaching journey should be inherently reflected by vast emotional progress, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It will therefore argue that, while journeys undoubtedly have cultural significance and personal implications, and inner journeys influence the nature, trajectory, and perception of outer journeys, and vice versa, the manifestations of these journeys do not necessarily reflect one another in a traditional sense. To demonstrate this, the necessity of these characters undertaking journeys, and thus the personal implications of these journeys, will be analysed. Further, the influence of culture on Icarus and Damon s respective journeys will be detailed and investigated. Finally, Damon and Icarus internal and external journeys, as well as their awareness of, and ability to actively or passively participate in these journeys, will be compared and contrasted. Ultimately, such analyses will establish that journey narratives are subjective, complex, and nuanced, and even between two comparable pieces of literature can vary greatly in conception, application, and influence. In order to understand the deeper meanings and implications of Damon and Icarus respective journeys, it is imperative to first understand the personal motivations driving these journeys, and the necessity of undertaking them. Although Icarus rarely explicitly refers to his physical journey, focussing instead on his internal journey, it is predominantly borne out of his cruelty to Tin Head, and a subsequent search for redemption and ... • 7. Narrative Essay On Franks The scream could be heard from miles away. Giselle was walking home from work when the most beautiful thing she had ever seen presented itself in front of her. It sparkled on the floor, glistening in the sun. It s purple color made it pop out from the plain gray sidewalk. Once Giselle spotted it, she couldn t help herself. She had to let out all of the joy she felt inside by screaming as loud as she could. She plucked the dazzling purpleglasses from the dangerous, scratchy ground and inspected them. They were as clear as a freshly installed window. She wondered if she should try them on, but figured it would be too risky. Her fur might stick to it, which would take away some of it s beauty, and she could not bear to feel that guilt. Instead,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An elderly woman and a child around seven pass under the branch, completely unaware that they are being watched. A smirk crosses the brunette youth s face as the small child runs off the path and into the woods. Maniko! Boy, get back here! The woman scolds her giggling grandson. The grumbling duo eventually continue their way down the road towards Ba Sing Se. After they re out sight, the young man gracefully jumps to the ground. Squeezing his eyes shut, Jet collapses onto the ground and drops his blades. He sits there for over an hour, trying to regain his temper and slow his breathing. Sure, Jet hates Fire Nation with a burning passion, but he hates himself more. Smellerbee takes a bite of the bread roll, then sets it in front of her all while watching Longshot out of the corner of her eye. A quiet sigh exhales and he pushes his plate away. What s wrong? She asks in a whisper. The only response she gets is a shrug, causing a frown to cross her round face. Is it Jet? Are you worried about him? This time he nods before leaning his elbows on the table and covering his face. It s okay. So am I. Somebody s just gotta knock some sense into him. The British Government And The European Union The British government is the process of negotiating reforms before it holds a referendum about whether Britain should remain a member of the European Union or withdraw. While reforms are demanded publicly in four areas, there are issues behind those demands that are seldom pronounced openly. The demand for change in economic governance, competitiveness, immigration and sovereignty have been already put in the public domain. In economic governmance, London does not want to concede more powers to Brussels, to join the euro and to be part of the ever closer union in Europe. Britain believes that excessive regulation by Brussels has reduced European, particularly British competitiveness. Therefore it would like to see the European Union s power to regulate diminished. It also wants to exercise greater control over its border and impose certain restrictions on the welfare payment to new migrants in Britain from Europen Union members. And it wants to return some of the powers to the British parliament that were conceded to the union. The British cabinet, businesses, and people are divided on the issue. The division in the cabinet is so deep that Prime Minister Cameron, who supports remaining in a reformed EU, has allowed his ministers to choose their side without the fear of losing their jobs. For instance, the foreign secretary support Cameron s position while the defence secretary doe not. Although most businesses seem to support staying in the European Union, a minority ... • 13. Justification Is Defined As An Act Essay Justification is defined as an act in which God declares all those who accept Him as their personal savior as being righteous and the penalty of sin is removed from their lives by Him. God removes a person who has faith in Him from a state of sin to a state of righteousness. It is stated in the book of Corinthians 5:21 that, For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. The term is derived from the Greek word dikaiosis which is a legal term that means to make a person righteous . The council of Trent, view justification as a change in a person from being a child of Adam to being adopted by grace, to be among the heirs of God through the second Adam who is JesusChrist (Denzinger, 1524 pg 115). In the New Testament, Paul declares that the law and prophets in the Old Testament are witnesses to how God s is right in justifying those who are righteous at heart. In saying so, Paul declared that justification is an aspect that is clearly visible in the Old Testament. Although justification is not brought out as a subject in the bible, its mention or aspect in the biblical account serves as evidence of God s purpose for His people. (Surburg 129) Two aspects constitute Justification include the human sinful ways and their divine grace found in them. The two are evidenced ever since creation of man in the book of genesis took place. This biblical account of creation states that upon completion of the universe, in the ... Malinowski established the theory of functionalism to describe and explain the Trobriand Islands culture and the many different beliefs and rituals of magic that connect to satisfy the social and psychological needs of individuals within the community. Evans Pritchard analyzes the Azande belief and ritual system of witches and witchcraft as a means to explain the society s structure and how they function as a whole. Similarly, both anthropologists argue against stereotypes and presumptions about primitive societies. However, Evans Pritchard tries to give the local people s point of view; understand their consciousness and behaviors through their own reality. Rather than a scientific approach to anthropological fieldwork, he has more of a humanist one. He uses the ethnographic data from his fieldwork to compare the social structure of the Azande in place with civilized societies. And unlike Malinowski who did not use historical methodology in his ethnography, Evans Pritchard stepped into the Zande people s shoes in order to understand their logic and moral systems that structured their society. In Time Magazine Mary Cary, author of Time to Lower the Drinking Age, puts forth the position that lowering the drinking age would actually be beneficial to society. Though lowering the drinking age to eighteen may lead to solutions to underage drinking, many other, more dangerous issues may arise from teenagers who begin to drink earlier in life; this is the greater matter that and it should not be overlooked on this issue. According to Mary Cary, lowering the drinking age would not increase drunk driving and the deaths associated with it. She believes that the issue of drunk driving has already been addressed and that the problem no longer exists. She states that, Thanks to MADD, drunken driving isn t the problem it used to be, and she mentions that this is the case because, we now throw the book at drunken drivers in this country (Cary). While both of these issues may be true, she does not connect these two facts to lowering the drinking age. Lowering the drinking age may, in fact, increase the risk of drunk driving since alcohol will be more readily available to young people who have a reputation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Descriptive Essay On A Walk In The Park A Walk in the Park A ways away from a town that I call home, I found a happy place. I often find myself walking through the park by myself. The beautiful trees, the way the yellow and red leaves crumple under my feet every step I take. When the flowers bloom and how it s the most spectacular sight you could ever imagine seeing, all the different colors that appear. When you breathe in and you get this smell of purity, you feel free and alive. Sometimes I like to sit on the old wooden bench where the bench frame is a little rusted, and I get rid of my thoughts and my eyes search the sky. In the winter the icy breeze makes me shiver, and the cold air I take in, is like sitting in front of an air conditioner and breathingin. Some mornings the sunbeams across the sky, which is not quite blue yet, but the sun has almost fully risen. When the wind blows, it grazes over the blades of grass. Some days I just stand and take a deep breath in and I can taste the spring. When summer comes around, and the bees are buzzing, and the hot sun beats on the back of my neck, I lay on the soft grass and listen, to the birds chirping a beautiful song, and the kids playing in the park. The sky is the bluest view in sight. Walking through the trail full of mud and leaves always made me think about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and get things off my mind. Looking around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like butterflies, all different colors. When they stopped, they immediately died and they were not coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled up under trees and children ran and jumped on them like they were pillows. These trees tripled the height of humans with numerous branches holding hundreds of leaves. While walking the river flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds chirping and floating through the smooth water puts a joy to my face. I found a rest area with a bench and by it was a fountain. The ripple of water and the singing that the birds formed made it peaceful to sit there and study the fountain.
