AI in Healthcare: Finding the Right Answers FasterHealth Catalyst
Health systems rely on data to make informed decisions—but only if that data leads to the right conclusion. Health systems often use common analytic methods to draw the wrong conclusions that lead to wasted resources and worse outcomes for patients. It is crucial for data leaders to lay the right data foundation before applying AI, select the best data visualization tool, and prepare to overcome five common roadblocks with AI in healthcare:
Predictive Analysis Before Diagnostic Analysis Leads to Correlation but Not Causation.
Change Management Isn’t Considered Part of the Process.
The Wrong Terms to Describe the Work.
Trying to Compensate for Low Data Literacy Resulting in Unclear Conclusions.
Lack of Agreement on Definitions Causes Confusion.
As AI provides more efficiency and power in healthcare, organizations still need a collaborative approach, deep understanding of data processes, and strong leadership to effect real change.

HealthXL Artificial Intelligence Working Group ReportHanna Phelan
In 2017, the promise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform the healthcare industry is as bold as ever, despite growing confusion over the state of progress, adoption, and competition in this rapidly growing field. HealthXL recently commissioned a brief exploration on this topic as part of its Big Data & AI Working Group.
The Case for Healthcare Data Literacy: It's Not About Big DataHealth Catalyst
While many people are looking to Big Data to solve a lot of healthcare’s data problems, Big Data won’t offer a lot of solutions for a while to come. For one, healthcare doesn’t have “Big” data; there just isn’t the volume, velocity, or variety seen in other industries such as banking where Big Data has been used successfully. For another, Big Data seems to be the answer to almost every question from cancer to Alzheimer’s, and that’s blinding us to the reality of healthcare analytics. A big way toward answering healthcare’s problems would be to improve data literacy among not only consumers, but physicians and administrators as well. Learning to ask the right questions about the data and learning how to read data correctly will get us further down the road to improvement than the latest buzzword (in this case, “Big Data”) ever will.

Classmate 1 The case of Enron is one that seems like it wa.docxmccormicknadine86
Classmate 1:
The case of Enron is one that seems like it was only one company at first, but it takes many moving parts to move so smoothly. As a trading company, they wanted to stay ahead of every curve predicting what could happen. Even when bad occurred the company made it seem as though they gained. This happens to many of the deal they took part in. When the time came again to where they needed to make their number, every single time they met them with extra. With all of this success, coming back from a never-ending tunnel into the light, no one really asked why. This is ironic because their slogan was “ask why”. As long as the people were getting their money some how where it had come from was never really thought of. Some people got curious but could not pinpoint what it was. They could see that something was going on or the numbers just did not make sense. As an accounting major, there was a lot of ethical decisions that as an accountant you would have to think about.
When hiring someone outside of the company you would usually think that you will get an unbiased opinion but that is not close to what they did. A big example shown in the movie was how they handled California. They had just used the people to get their money and when they did Enron wanted more by manipulating the power plants to get prices to increase. These traders never really wanted to help the people besides the words the company said to help the people. This was just for themselves this is not a good method of treating people, in their position they should have been stewards to the people with energy. With a reasonable price and not shifting the energy around that did not make sense when you have a surplus amount that could be supplied to the people with little mishaps.
Another is a work environment, they had said it plenty of times if I have to step on your throat to get ahead I will trample you. This type of environment does not promote good work cooperation it is just a stressful situation. This would be a good time to promote the common good, the method is not just used outside but also in the workplace. You would want good for all of your coworkers when they do good you do as well. You wouldn’t want someone to crush all over you to get to a position or use your work to get what they want eventually getting you fired from the job since it looks like you have not been contributing.
There is so much to this company and everyone else that you could talk about trying to analyze their behavior. A big one to me is, in the end, knowing full well what they have done they stuck to an ID conscience, all just for the money. Lower-level people felt as if they were doing good because they are not high enough to know the rest of the information or maybe some knew because they contributed in the wrong. For many who didn’t know they lose everything to this company and because of the name of the company, it would follow them because the ...

The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics

From an early age, he was involved in sports, particularly basketball. which played a significant role in his physical development. His athletic pursuits continued into college. where he attended the University of Southern California (USC) on a basketball scholarship. This early involvement in sports laid a strong foundation for his physical health and disciplined lifestyle.
Transition to Acting
Selleck's transition from an athlete to an actor came with its physical demands. His first significant role in "Magnum P.I." required him to perform various stunts and maintain a fit appearance. This role, which he played from 1980 to 1988. necessitated a rigorous fitness routine to meet the show's demands. setting the stage for his long-term commitment to health and wellness.

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.
New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Editor's Notes
You want to empower a healthy, high-performing workforce. But it’s easier said than done, right?
Once you identify your health focus areas, develop a holistic plan that incorporates all these spheres. Essentially, you want to create an approach that elevates health in every area that touches your people.
Sometimes it takes an incentive to get people to take action. And the longer the action takes and the less desirable it is to do, the more important the incentive becomes. Bottom line, make sure your approach fits your culture, leadership style, and history. And note that consequences (takeaways for people who fail to take action) will become more common in the future.
Think about how you can revitalize your work environment to make it healthier—whether it be incorporating health into daily job functions, offering healthier foods in the cafeteria and vending machines, putting engaging messages and visuals in the stairwells, and the like. This video shows one example to spark ideas for you.
Today there are more than 100 million active gamers spending more than 215 million hours gaming every day in the U.S. Wow! With health, gamifying solutions is not just turning health into games. It’s applying gaming elements to health initiatives that make learning and behavior change simple, accessible, and engaging. Here’s an example of NextJump’s success with gaming.
Our research shows that most consumers know what to do to be healthy—like eat right, exercise, and not smoke—but we obviously don’t always do these things. There are lots of barriers, one being that our health care world can be mysterious and complex. One way to demystify it is to use a virtual learning environment like this one to display presentations, documents, and forms in a more experiential way.
With the explosive growth of mobile devices, they are our best avenue for reaching people at any time, any place, on any subject—including health. Building sites in a responsive design, promoting the best apps, using opt-in texts, and exploring augmented reality are some engaging ways.
It’s important to be using social media, but as social media was intended—in grassroots, interactive ways versus as a direct mouthpiece for the company. Facebook, custom social sites, and Pinterest are just three of many ways.
In a perfect world, we’d personalize every piece of communication that goes to our people. Not going to happen any time soon, right? In reality, we can personalize some critical communication pieces. Then we can use techniques like attitudinal segmentation to understand the values and behaviors of our people and tailor versions to specific segments.
Often in HR we lead with the technical details. However, behaviorally we as humans process information emotionally first and content-wise second. Plus, health is such a personal and emotional topic. So humanizing it can effectively engage people as long as we use the right tone, array of media, and grassroots involvement.
