I needed to teach :
The name and purpose of 40 different kitchen utensils
To a class of Entry 2 level learners.
This class had learners with a wide variety of support needs.
It included learners who:
Cannot read,
Can read and write but cannot speak
Learners with dyslexia
On autistic spectrum who were unable to ask for help when they get stuck on a question.

Because of these needs, most of the learners could not work independently and needed lots of support.

We would need to manually track the progress of each learner which was both:
Time consuming
Subject to human error

Sharing support staff meant that learners couldn’t truely work at their own pace.
We needed a way to remove some of these barriers and allow more independent learning.
