Instructors should lead the course Instructor should be present and available at different times throughout the day Instructor must act as a facilitator Students shouldn’t feel that they are without guidance – know where and when they can seek help
Classes should be focused around the student – not the instructor Instructor acts as a guide Student is in charge of their own learning Challenging and relevant assignments are present in the course
Collaboration throughout course Assignments involve cooperation and teamwork among classmates Through collaboration, class community is formed
Flexible but structured learning environment Flexibility as to when students have to work on an assignment Clear deadlines for when projects should be completed
21st Century Skills Technology improvement Communication skills Critical thinking skills Teamwork and collaboration
Class format, expectations, and instructions are defined Clear expectations provided for students Grading is well-defined Rubrics are provided for assignments
