EFFECTIVE BODY LANGUAGE
IN CLASSROOM
Before we proceed I would like you to
remember your favorite Teacher….
Feel Relax …and Enjoy …
• Are you all well…..feeling comfort……..
• Are you Interested to have something on
this topic…
If yes Then here
is something
interesting for
you……..
Do not simply recall the name but think about
the teacher “ Your FAVOURITE Teacher”
….. Is it because they
……..taught you the favourite subject
Or ……..they were lenient to your home work?...
thenen
What is the particular reason you specially recall
these teachers over other……
Well the answer is very simple…
These teachers did
not used a
blackboard and a
book in hand to
teach in class ….
There presence
made
you feel
GOOD
Generally it is teachers’ Body
Language that greatly contributes
to the impact they have on us.
There simple
smile and an
approving nod
give you a great
sense of
encouragement.
BODY
LANGUAGE
So, teachers… A body language of teachers too
plays an important role when they are teaching.
Let us first understand that what the body
language exactly is….
It is a non-vital, yet powerful form of
communication that every individuals
denotes via his/her gesture, attitude or
facial expressions.
Basically we not only
response positive or
negative to spoken words
of individual
but
Also react to that person’s
body language…………..
A Teachers body language
impact a strong long
lasting impression on students.
It is the body language of the
teacher that that will often dictate
the presence and the students will
respond accordingly.
This same principal applied to Teachers and students
relationship also in classroom. You know…
7% is that that
…speaking which
impact to students .
And the other
38% is the way teachers use there
voice, tone, pitch..etc
55% is
the Body
Language,
means your
way of
teaching.
Body Language on the
other hand, will almost
always be taken at face
value.
And
Hence Body language plays a positive
role not only in classroom teaching but
also in shaping students character too.
Now here is a short list
that a teacher can use
BODY LANGUAGE
to build a great rapport
with students…
BODY
POSTURE
This being the first impression of the teacher , it
should be very appealing, .
Walking tall, with body erect and shoulders
straight …..
….it gives confidence
which eventually helps to be an effective leader.
EYE TALK
“Eyes are the windows of the soul”
Looking straight to the students eye
creates a positive relationship
between them.
Teachers can especially maintain a
good eye-contact while emphasizing
on an important topic.
Eyes can give much information about
the thoughts running inside a person's
mind. Looking to the left and down
while talking signifies that the speaker
is either recollecting facts.
FACIAL
EXPRESSION
• This one is easy SMILE (As it costs nothing …rather
improves face value) Smile a gently makes the
communication easier and more persuasive.(winning)
• It’s a mood changer and will evoke warm feeling in
both …
VOICE MODULATION
• Teachers can produce a
variety of vocal intonations
while presenting topic…..
• For Ex. Loud and soft (pitch)
voice can be used while
explaining.
Like
‘big’ and ‘small’ “Above and Below”
“In and Out” “inside and Outside”
POSITIVE
FORCE FIELD
This last one is
actually a
collection of
positive body
language that
Lowers
students
anxiety and
boots their
motivation.
There is an old adage (saying/proverb) that….
• Tell Me and I Forget
• Teach Me and I may Remember
:: Most Important ::
Involve Me
and
I LEA R N
So the last part of saying…
Involve Me and I LEARN
Will definitely produce well-deserved goodwill
between student and Teacher.
We Take the
im
Out of impossible
