The document summarizes research that optimized a water distribution network using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) with different inertia weight functions. Eight inertia weight functions were tested to study their effect on network cost. The minimum cost solution of Rs 419,000 was obtained using a logarithmic inertia weight function with a swarm size of 50 over 15 runs. Results closely matched those from a previous study that optimized the same benchmark network, validating the developed PSO program.
For aircraft or launch vehicles, its carrying capacity is defined as a Payload. It is usually measured in weights. For a rocket, payload can be satellite or scientific instruments. The design of the payload is a challenging task as it has to withstand space environment and launch loads. Due to launch vibrations, there are possibilities of failure of design of payload so it is very important to reduce these vibrations by alternative techniques.
This paper studies the effect of different materials on the natural frequency of payload which helps in the reduction of the natural frequency of the payload and for safe functioning of satellite.

This Paper is an attempt to develop the expansion-planning algorithm using meta heuristics algorithms. Expansion Planning is always needed as the power demand is increasing every now and then. Thus for a better expansion planning the meta heuristic methods are needed. The cost efficient Expansion planning is desired in the proposed work. Recently distributed generation is widely researched to implement in future energy needs as it is pollution free and capability of installing it in rural places. In this paper, optimal distributed generation expansion planning with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA) for identifying the location, size and type of distributed generator for future demand is predicted with lowest cost as the constraints. Here the objective function is to minimize the total cost including installation and operating cost of the renewable DGs. MATLAB based `simulation using M-file program is used for the implementation and Indian distribution system is used for testing the results.
A New Transistor Sizing Approach for Digital Integrated Circuits Using Firefl...VLSICS Design
Due to the fact that, the power consumption and speed of a VLSI circuit are dependent on the transistor
sizes, efficient transistor sizing is a new challenge for VLSI circuit designers. However, evolutionary
computation can be successfully used for complex VLSI transistor sizing which reduces the time to market
and enables the designer to find the optimized solutions for a non-linear and complex circuit design
process. In this paper, a new digital integrated circuit design approach is proposed based on the firefly
artificial intelligence optimization algorithm. In order to justify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm
in the design of VLSI circuits, an inverter (NOT gate) is designed and optimized by the proposed algorithm.
As the simulation results show, the inverter circuit has a very good performance for power and delay
parameters.
Determining the Complex Permittivity of Building Dielectric Materials using a...IJECEIAES
This paper presents a technique to determine the Dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the building dielectric materials using propagation constant measurements. The material sample is loaded in an X-band (8.5GHz12.5GHz) rectangular waveguide and its two port S-parameters are measured as a function of frequency using a Vector Network Analyzer without TRL Calibration. The results obtained from samples of dielectric materials (Air, Cellular concrete and Wood) on the X-band frequencies show the validity of the proposed technique to determine the complex permittivity of the building dielectric materials on the X-band frequencies.
GWO-based estimation of input-output parameters of thermal power plantsTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
The fuel cost curve of thermal generators was very important in the calculation of economic dispatch and optimal power flow. Temperature and aging could make changes to fuel cost curve so curve estimation need to be done periodically. The accuracy of the curve parameters estimation strongly affected the calculation of the dispatch. This paper aims to estimate the fuel cost curve parameters by using the grey wolf optimizer method. The problem of curve parameter estimation was made as an optimization problem. The objective function to be minimized was the total number of absolute error or the difference between the actual value and the estimated value of the fuel cost function. The estimated values of parameter that produce the smallest total absolute error were the values of final solution. The simulation results showed that parameter estimation using gray wolf optimizer method further minimized the value of objective function. By using three models of fuel cost curve and given test data, parameter estimation using grey wolf optimizer method produced the better estimation results than those estimation results obtained using least square error, particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithm, artificial bee colony and cuckoo search methods.

intelligent selection of transmit power in a communication to
achieve the better performance within the system. Cross-layer
is used to sharing the information between the layers. CLD
using LOADPOWER (LOADPOW) control protocol is reduce
the overall end-end delay in transmission power. So many
power control schemes are dealt in network layer but this
work Power control protocol was done in MAC layer and it
plays a vital role. A MAC approach to power control only does
a local optimization whereas network layer is capable of a
global optimization. Simulation was done in NS-2 simulator
with the performance metrics as throughput, and energy
consumption and end-end delay. The key concept is to improve
the throughput, saves energy by sending all the packets with
optimal transmit power according to the network load,
transmission power was given, when the network load is low,
higher transmission power gives lower end-end delay and viceversa.

This paper presents a model for calculation of torsion capacity of the reinforced concrete beams using the artificial neural network. Considering the complex reaction of reinforced concrete beams under torsion moments, torsion strength of these beams is depended on different parameters; therefore using the artificial neural network is a proper method for estimating the torsion capacity of the beams. In the presented model the beam's dimensions, concrete compressive strength and longitudinal and traverse bars properties are the input data, and torsion capacity of the reinforced concrete beam is the output of the model. Also considering the neural network results, a sensitivity analysis is performed on the network layers weight, and the effect of different parameters is evaluated on the torsion strength of the reinforced concrete beams. According to the sensitivity analysis, properties of traverse steel have the most effect on torsion capacity of the beams.
Identification of isomorphism and detection of distinct mechanism of kinemati...eSAT Journals
Abstract The problem of isomorphism among kinematic chains and of these derived mechanisms has been a hot area of research being done from last several years. The researchers so far have proposed many methods which are mainly based on characteristic polynomial and on some code based method to test the isomorphism among kinematic chains. In the present communication a new structural invariant based on link-link path distance (shortest) has been developed for a kinematic chain. Each link of kinematic chain is assigned as a unique label using the invariant. The set of link labels are combined in the form a numerical label of kinematic chain, called kinematic chain label (KCL). KCL is proposed as unique identifier for detection of isomorphism among kinematic chains, and also used to find distinct mechanism of a kinematic chain. Method is tested on several cases of single degree of freedom plannar kinematic chain successfully with simple joints. Keywords: - Isomorphism, Kinematic chains, Mechanism, Invarient labeling, Distinct mechanism, path distance matrix.

Assessment of wear rate is an inseparable section of the saw ability of dimension stone, and an essential task to optimization in the diamond wire saw performance. This research aims to provide an accurate, practical and applicable model for predicting the wear rate of diamond bead based on rock properties using applications and performances of intelligent systems. In order to reach this purpose, 38 cutting test results with 38 different rocks were used from andesites, limestones and real marbles quarries located in eleven areas in Turkey. Prediction of wear rate is determined by optimization techniques like Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) and hybrid Genetic algorithm –Artificial neural network (GA-ANN) models that were utilized to build two estimation models by MATLAB software. In this study, 80% of the total samples were used randomly for the training dataset, and the remaining 20% was considered as testing data for GA-ANN model. Further, accuracy and performance capacity of models established were investigated using root mean square error (RMSE), the coefficient of determination (R2) and standard deviation (STD). Finally, a comparison was made among performances of these soft computing techniques for predicting and the results obtained indicated hybrid GA-ANN model with a coefficient of determination (R2) of training = 0.95 and testing = 0.991 can get more accurate predicting results in comparison with MLP models.
Optimization of Corridor Observation Method to Solve Environmental and Econom...ijceronline
This paper presents an optimization of corridor observation method (COM) which is an applicable optimization algorithm based on the evolutionary algorithm to solve an environmental and economic Dispatch (EED) problem. This problem is seen like a bi-objective optimization problem where fuel cost and gas emission are objectives. In this method, the optimal Pareto front is found using the concept of corridor observation and the best compromised solution is obtained by fuzzy logic. The optimization of this method consists to find best parameters (number of corridor, number of initial population and number of generation) which improve solution and reduce a computational time. The simulated results using power system with different numbers of generation units showed that the new parameters ameliorate the solution keep her stability and reduce considerably the CPU time (time is minimum divide by 4) comparatively at parameterization with originals parameters.
COMPARISON OF HIERARCHICAL AGGLOMERATIVE ALGORITHMS FOR CLUSTERING MEDICAL DO...ijseajournal
Extensive amount of data stored in medical documents require developing methods that help users to find
what they are looking for effectively by organizing large amounts of information into a small number of
meaningful clusters. The produced clusters contain groups of objects which are more similar to each other
than to the members of any other group. Thus, the aim of high-quality document clustering algorithms is to
determine a set of clusters in which the inter-cluster similarity is minimized and intra-cluster similarity is
maximized. The most important feature in many clustering algorithms is treating the clustering problem as
an optimization process, that is, maximizing or minimizing a particular clustering criterion function
defined over the whole clustering solution. The only real difference between agglomerative algorithms is
how they choose which clusters to merge. The main purpose of this paper is to compare different
agglomerative algorithms based on the evaluation of the clusters quality produced by different hierarchical
agglomerative clustering algorithms using different criterion functions for the problem of clustering
medical documents. Our experimental results showed that the agglomerative algorithm that uses I1 as its
criterion function for choosing which clusters to merge produced better clusters quality than the other
criterion functions in term of entropy and purity as external measures.
Fuel emissions correlation assessment of indoor pollutants from different hou...IAEME Publication
Air is rendered impure for respiration of man due to combustion of coal, gas, oil, traffic and manufacturing processes that give off dust, fumes, vapors and gases. The common indoor air pollutants are CO, NOX, SOX and particulate matter (PM10, PM2.5 and PM1.0). The present work is on exposure assessment of indoor air pollutants in different households for five different fuels i.e., Kerosene, Biomass, LPG, Cow dung cakes and Coal. Sampling stations were considered in and around Mysore city. Indoor concentration of NO2, SO2, SPM, RSPM and CO for all the fuels were monitored using Handy sampler, personal sampler and Gastec precision gas detection system respectively. Sampling before, during and after cooking was carried out for 2 hours. Higher NO2 indoor concentrations during cooking were found to be 223.45µg/m3 in households where coal is used as fuel, while min concentration of 158.34 µg/m3 was found to be in LPG households using LPG. SO2 was found to be as high as 167.34µg/m3 in coal used households while low concentration was observed in LPG using households. SPM and RSPM were found to be high in biomass households (1438.5.µg/m3 and 1484.89µg/m3). High CO concentration of 30ppm was found during cooking period in coal used households. Pearson’s correlation values for most of the parameters were found to be significant at 0.01 level. It was concluded that indoor air pollutants CO and RSPM are very closely correlated in most fuels, and have the impact on human health

Combination of urea-Sn+2 in SCP solution was examined as a corrosion inhibitor for concrete reinforced steel by potentiodynamicpolarization, surface synergist parameter and cyclic voltammetry methods comparing with urea–Zn+2 combination. A synergism parameter (SI) indicated a synergistic effect between urea and Sn+2was exist. Polarization study revealed that formulation consisting of 300 ppm urea+50 ppm Sn+2 in SCP solution provided inhibition efficiency (IF) of 85.93% while 300 ppm urea +50 ppm Zn+2 provided 82.3% IF, and this combination acts as anodic type inhibitor. Cyclic voltammetry curves showed that the steel samples immersed in this formulation has low tendency to pitting corrosion. From these results it can be concluded that urea – Sn+2 inhibitor formulation is a good corrosion n inhibitor for concrete reinforced steel, it can maintain stable passive film on steel surface even in the presence of aggressive chloride ions so it can be used instead of the high toxicityZn+2 inhibitor to improve the corrosion inhibition of urea fertilizer inhibitor.

Distribution network reconfiguration for loss reduction using PSO method IJECEIAES
In recent years, the reconfiguration of the distribution network has been proclaimed as a method for realizing power savings, with virtually zero cost. The current trend is to design distribution networks with a mesh network structure, but to operate them radially. This is achieved by the establishment of an appropriate number of switchable branches which allow the realization of a radial configuration capable of supplying all of the normal defects in the box of permanent defect. The purpose of this article is to find an optimal reconfiguration using a Meta heuristic method, namely the particle swarm optimization method (PSO), to reduce active losses and voltage deviations by taking into account certain technical constraints. The validity of this method is tested on a 33-IEEE test network and the results obtained are compared with the results of basic load flow.
This paper presents a novel approach for static transmission expansion planning and
allocation of the associated expansion costs to individual market entities in a restructured power
system. The approach seeks the optimal addition of transmission lines among the possible candidate
transmission lines minimizing the overall system costs and at the same time satisfying the system
operational and security constraints. Novelty of the approach lies in applying a widely known
technique used for overload security analysis to an area such as Transmission expansion planning.
Transmission expansion costs are allocated using distribution factors to the individual entities in a
fair and transparent manner. The results for modified Garver Test system demonstrate that the
approach with the advantage of its simplicity can be applied to transmission expansion planning and
cost allocation in restructured power system

APPLICATION OF PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION TO MICROWAVE TAPERED MICROSTRIP LINEScseij
Application of metaheuristic algorithms has been of continued interest in the field of electrical engineering because of their powerful features. In this work special design is done for a tapered transmission line used for matching an arbitrary real load to a 50Ω line. The problem at hand is to match this arbitray load to 50 Ω line using three section tapered transmission line with impedances in decreasing order from the load. So the problem becomes optimizing an equation with three unknowns with various conditions. The optimized values are obtained using Particle Swarm Optimization. It can easily be shown that PSO is very strong in solving this kind of multiobjective optimization problems.

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
