WHAT IS EDUCATION?
 The knowledge or skill obtained or developed by a learning
process.
 The field of study that is concerned with the pedagogy of
teaching and learning.
 The act or process of educating or being educated.
WHAT IS ENTERTAINMENT?
 Entertainment is a form of activity that holds the attention and
interest of an audience or gives pleasure and delight.
 The action of providing or being provided with amusement or
enjoyment.
 An activity that diverts or amuses or stimulates
What does edutainment mean?
 The act of learning through a medium that both educates and entertains.
 A wide variety of formats can be used to present edutainment, ranging
from books to guided tours of zoological parks.
 One key thing to note is, the word edutainment is a combination of
entertainment and education. Specially games that are designed to
educate.
 Edutainment makes the learning process more enjoyable and engaging
which is key to effective learning.

TRADITIONAL TEACHING METHOD
Direct instruction is the most common form of instruction. This
is the lecturing method of teaching. Many teachers use this
teaching method almost exclusively, as it is considered the
simplest, and you can cover large amounts of material in a short
period of time. However, this is not the most effective teaching
method to reach all students, especially younger ones, who
often need a more engaging, hands-on strategy in order to learn
effectively.
TRADITIONAL TEACHING METHODS(CONT.)
 This is “one way flow” of information.
 Teachers often continuously talk without knowing students
response and feedback.
 There is insufficient interaction with students in the
classroom.
 There is more emphasis given on theory without any practical
and real life time situations.
 Learning from memorization but not understanding
-Marks rather than result orientated.
INNOVATING TEACHING METHOD
 Inquiry-based learning is a teaching method which is rapidly
gaining popularity. Inquiry based learning is mainly involving
the learner and leading him to understand. Inquiry here
implies on the possessing skills and attitude of yours, which
allows you to ask questions about new resolutions and issues
while you are gaining new information.
 Inquiry is seeking knowledge, information, or truth through
questioning.
SOME FEATURES OF INNOVATIVE TEACHING
 There is a participation between students and
teacher.
 Teacher and students use technology in learning
process i.e IPAD, TABLET etc.
 No difference between work and play.
 Students are put in groups to attain target.
