A Report On The Automotive Industry Essay
1. INTRODUCTION
The automotive industry in India is one of the largest automotive markets in the world, previously one
of the fastest growing markets globally. It started out as a small venture in the 1940s but witnessed a
rapid growth with the entry of some big manufacturers like Mahindra Mahindra and Maruti in mid and
late 1900s. In 2000, this industry became an important sector of the Indian economy and a major
foreign exchange earner for the country.
The Shiv group was one of the largest industrial groups in India at this time established in the early
1900s. With the ownership of 20 companies and a turnover of US $1 billion, they were market leaders
in the sectors like tea, auto parts, electronics, finance, pharmaceuticals etc. In 2000, Shiv industry was
going through a rough phase experiencing a continuous loss. The key reasons were its inability to cope
up with the changing needs and competitive scenario due to internationalization of this market. The
challenges of quality based competition in high tech product market and price based competition in
low tech product market became a big concern for Shiv s management.
2. PROBLEM STATEMENT 1
Globalization of automotive industry
Although Shiv industries excelled in automobile industries, but the changing global trends in this
industry was a key concern for Shiv s management. Due to internationalization of this market, the
foreign auto manufacturers were rapidly replacing the local suppliers in terms of

The Pros And Cons Of The Internet
World Wide Web a phrase that has revolutionized our period of time; without the internet there would
be no place where we would get to watch videos, look at images of cats, and most importantly cry on
the stylish clothes that one may never get. Many individuals tend to stay at home on this phenomenon
for more than eight hours straight, visiting numerous of sites. However, imagine those services being
on one platform which means everything one enjoys doing on multiple websites: watching
movies/videos, viewing images, or buying clothes. Amazon, a multimillionaire private company,
happens to solidify this imagination. The corporation believes the internet is evolving towards a
greater good of every individual doing everything online; mainly shopping. They believe technology
has made it easier for many people to access an online store through the World Wide Web. However,
Amazon has become an empire in such a short amount of time and will not stop growing. Due to the
contrary, Amazon is obviously becoming too powerful. As said previously, Amazon.com is a privately
owned corporation which is basically the internet s online supermarket filled with various items
ranging from fresh apples to the board game, Monopoly to zebras skin clothing. Crazy items? Well,
Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, believes that Amazon should be an everything store as
he told Fortune Magazine in 2012. He may have taken everything to a literal standpoint as the
company stands retails various

Background Check
When seriously considering a candidate for an open position, it is very important to consider
conducting a background check. Background checks can offer employers potentially valuable benefits
of hiring well qualified candidates such as, reducing turnover and related expenses, and limiting
claims of negligent hiring. A background check should be completed as soon as a formal job offer has
been made. Drug testing should also be completed during this time as a part of the background check
requirements. The job offer needs to be communicated as conditional offer of employment upon
successful completion of a criminal background check and drug test. In a competitive job market
candidates are more likely to embellish or hide their history to make them appear to be the ideal
person for the job. The truth would not be discovered unless a complete criminal background check is
performed. A background check should include educational and work history, along with a criminal
background check to verify clearance depending what type of employment the candidate is seeking.
Background checks can also be useful for obtaining driving history and a credit report. All background
checks require consistency. If the business plans on having the requirements for one employee then
every employee should have the same requirements. Businesses sometimes skip corners to save ...

X Opoly
Case Analysis
X Opoly, Inc.
1 Summary
The text deals with the topic of developing and producing a board game, called X Opoly. The game is
similar to the famous game Monopoly . It was the idea of two students. Their business has grown
rapidly. This year they are expecting that they will sell 50,000 units. Over next 5 years the sales will
grow 25 percent annually.
The order of the game has to be differentiated in ordering a new game and ordering a game, which
was already produced. For every new game one employee of the art department and the client have to
set the design. The required time can vary because it depends on the customer s specification. The
next step is printing. In the printing department the design of the ... Show more content on

200days x 7.5h0.18h x stations = 8,333 units for 1 station = 50,000 units for 6 stations
= 158,333 units for 19 stations
Capacity per day = Capacity p.a. / 200days = 791,67units for 19 persons
Number of theoretical workstations:
NT = ∑task time / cycle time = 650108 = 6.02 select 7 workstations
The line s maximum capacity amounts to 791.67 units per day assuming that it is operated for 7.5
hours. Assuming that X Opoly operates 200 days per year, the capacity is 58,333 units per year.
Compared with the expected demand the capacity is three times higher than the demand (50,000
units). Therefore there is an overcapacity of more than 100,000. One consequence could be a falling
price and the production of waste. A fall in the price would lead to a decline of the return on
investment as well as the cash flow. That is why it is necessary to use fewer stations in order to save
resources.
In the calculation it can be said that they only 7 stations are needed. With this number of workstations
one could achieve the highest efficiency at this moment. But the company will grow rapidly. Therefore
they had to add new stations every year.
However, the company expects that its sales will grow 25 percent annually for the next five years. As
illustrated in Table 1 the demand after 5 years will be approx.

The mining industry in developing nations often lacks the enforcement of ethical principles, laws and
regulations. I therefore believe developing nations are better off without large mining companies
operating within them. Mining majors can use force to get there way and this often includes political
involvement and corruption. Mining companies often overlook the artisanal miners, that use the mine
as their lone source of income, and move them out from the mines. The impact on locals is not usually
not taken into account when a new mine is set up. Mining companies often disregard the citizenship,
fairness and dignity principles of the Global Business Standards Codex to improve profits. Mining
majors will go to great lengths to make profit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As corruption is seen as a cheaper alternative to fixing the problem. I believe that developing nations
are better off without mining majors in operation within them because of the possibility for
government corruption. Developing nations are better off without mining majors because the country
is seen as a target for large revenue gains, the Global Business Standards Codex and fair treatment of
local people can often be disregarded at the expense of profits. Artisanal miners live in or around
mines and generally do all of their work by hand, including the extraction of ore, to make a living. As
these people live on the mine, if a company wants to buy the mine then they have to move the whole
town elsewhere. In accordance with the fairness principle, which has always been involved with
ethical thought (Paine et al. 2005), the mining company should provide housing for the artisanal
miners. However, by doing this, the company is taking the miners away from their source of money
and livelihood, which creates an imbalance. An example of this is the Canadian mining company in
Essakane, Burkina Faso (Siegel 2013). As global mining companies seek new avenues of revenue they
are increasingly turning to the developing world. In developing countries mining is used by locals as a
source of income when farms fail, which is becoming increasingly common with global warming. The
increasing number of artisanal miners causes

Summarize Findings The most reactive substance in this lab was the crushed liver core, it produced
the most amount of heat, bubbles, and the biggest flame during the glowing splint test. The manganese
dioxide and the liver core were also very reactive and they both produced a flame during the glowing
splint test. Next, the potato core produced a slight reaction, but it was not as extreme as the other
substances. Finally, just the hydrogen peroxide and the boiled liver core had no reaction and did not
produce a flame during the glowing splint test.

What effect would adding HCl or NaOH to the liver or potato have? Clearly explain your reasoning. It
would change the pH of the liver or potato as HCl is very acidic and NaOH is very basic. Changes in
pH can denature the protein in the enzymes which could result in no reaction. For most enzymes, they
require a very specific pH, so when a solution becomes too acidic or too basic, no reaction can occur
as the enzyme will become denatured by the abrupt change in pH.
6. What effect would slightly cooling or heating the test tube have? Slightly cooling or heating the test
tube could also result in the proteins in the enzymes becoming denatured by the changes in the
temperature. Enzymes also require very specific temperatures to function properly, so if the
temperature changed too dramatically no reaction would occur. If the change in temperature was not
dramatic, it could just affect the rate of reaction, so it might slow down the reaction, but the reaction
would eventually occur.

Women s Day Advertisement Of The Frog Prince
This Women s Day advertisement inspires Women to become the person they dream of being.
Alluding to the timeless fairy tale The Frog Prince with a toy frog wearing a crown, the ad plays on
youthful innocence. The classically magical tale recounts the events of a girl who is not suited for
royalty becoming a princess, which a majority of American and British women were exposed to in
their youth. Therefore, the frog is a happy reference to a time period that every woman has had or will
have where they relate to the girl in the story and feel capable of becoming a princess . Because fairy
tales never follow the prince or princess in the story after becoming such the responsibilities and life is
left to the interpretation of the reader. This promotes imagination in children and may nostalgically
remind Women of the previous ambitious of their childhood. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

associated with soldiers. Targeting Women who have been exposed to The Frog Prince, the intended
audience is broad and probably part of the reason that the advertisement as a whole is left mostly to
interpretation. While very indirect, this ad uses association and self reflection to remind Women of

Competitive Analysis L.L. Bean is currently in a market where there are few stores that dominate.
They face competition from companies such as Columbia, North Face, REI Timberland. In some cases
these companies may offer a wider range of products, more appealing design and higher quality.
Where L.L. Bean stands out is there in country manufacturing and Discovery School classes. Not only
are they selling outdoor gear they are offering outdoor classes as well. The way I look at it is, they
offer a product and a way to test it out at the same time so you know whether you are buying a good
quality product. But this however may still not be enough to succeed. Below I have included a list of
L.L. Bean s competitors. Columbia Columbia Sportswear may not be one of L.L. Beans strongest
competitors as they do not offer equipment but they do have a strong presence in apparel and offer a

Columbia is family owned but traded on public stock exchange. Columbia Sportswear takes pride in

Women In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Rough Draft
One of the last Shakespearean works of Elizabethan England, A Midsummer Night s Dream is laced
with a progressive line of feminism, which is coupled with an air of sexual freedom that would have
been very much in line with the views of the ageing monarch, and may have been written as a tribute
to her rule. Although such a feat would be considered remarkably progressive at the time, Shakespeare
s conservative plebeian audience still obligated him to include a more traditional ending.
As argued by Joyce Moss and George Wilson, the queen s majesty is even directly mentioned in the
play when there is talk of a fair vestal throned by the west (Midsummer Night s Dream, 2.1.158),
which is almost certainly a reference to the virgin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

diversification in Hawaii s economy. The fourth week we talked about price, inflation and costs of
living in Hawaii. During this week we learned about different factors that causes Hawaii s high cost of
living. For this major report, I wanted to explore more in death about Hawaii s high cost of living. The
reason why I wanted to explore this topic more into detail is because I ve living in Hawaii my whole

this topic because it is very important to understand the different factors that causes the high cost of

Saks Fifth Avenue vs. Neiman Marcus
I am writing to analyse the company s current balance sheet and income statement. Particularly, I will

recommendations on how to improve its financial position.
Neiman Marcus department stores offer luxurious and high quality men s and women s apparel and
accessories. The Neiman Marcus Group operates 35 stores in nearly 20 states. The 2004 net income
was an impressive $204 million and revenue was $3.5 billion. More importantly, their gross profit was

Unfortunately, the accounts payable outweighs the cash account, but nevertheless, the net receivables
account is at $560 million. After receiving that amount and including the cash, they will be able to pay
off their entire accounts payable, as well as short term and long term debt. Lastly, the long term debt is
at a mere $324 million. This is only 13% of their total assets, meaning that the company owns most of
their assets.
Again, in comparison to Saks, Neiman Marcus is far better managed. Saks s total assets are an
impressive $4.7 billion, but current assets make up only 44% of it. Most of their money is valued in
power plant and equipment $2 billion. Also, Saks has high current liabilities of $966 million and an
even higher $1.1 billion in long term debt. They are not able to pay off these liabilities with their cash.
Recommendations based on the balance sheet are little, since the company is performing so well.
Firstly, we can increase cash meaning, make more sales and have more discounts to attract buyers.
Furthermore, increase service sales. Introduce a dry cleaning line or a tailor service. Secondly,
increase property more stores. We see that we are performing well and with more stores, we will
increase assets. By doing so, we increase our collateral and gain more financial status. Overall, the
company is performing very well

Human Emotion And Its Effect On Human Consciousness
The purpose of life, to some degree, is to seek happiness and to seek out other people to achieve that
happiness. Sigmund Freud developed this idea, which is known as the pleasure principle, claiming to
explain that the human consciousness and subconsciousness revolve around this idea. If someone is
isolated, then they will try to alleviate that suffering in one way or another. Human emotion is reduced
to extremely simple terms, unlike what they truly are, which is extremely complex. The idea of
reducing humans to such a simple understanding seems unfair, but it carries a sense of truth to it.
Every person on Earth is seeking for pleasure, and it carries truth because no person appreciates the
feeling of unpleasantness. Isolation is a defense method against the world to seek pleasure and to
avoid unpleasant feelings in life. Freud believes that everyone attempts to get away from things that
cause us pain and suffering and that everyone feels suffering as a result of society, but the way people
attempt to alleviate this suffering defines us as a person.
Two people could be faced with the death of a close relative, but the one who alleviates his suffering
through drugs is very different from the one who alleviates his suffering through burying himself in
his work. The exploration of Freud s ideas through different characters of the two stories, Sonny s
Blues and Ceremony, reveal that Freud s principles regarding human nature are not the basis for all
human life. Sonny s

The Mozart s Effect Theory Of The Mozart Effect
There are numerous theories as to what factors may affect one s ability to perform adequately. The
Mozart Effect theory was established by Rauscher, Shaw, and Ky (1993). The Mozart Effect refers to a
set of research results indicating that listening to Mozart s music may stimulate a short term
enhancement on the enactment of certain assignments. This theory supported that listening to music
composed by Mozart would increase their ability to perform accurately on a both mathematical
operation and spatial reasoning test. The researchers proposed that music lacking complexity or that is
repetitive may interfere with your ability to execute the task effectively, rather than enhance, abstract
reasoning (Rauscher, Shaw, Ky). Rauscher, Shaw, and Ky from the University of California Irvine
conducted an experiment where they aimed to find a correlational relationship amongst music intellect
and cognitions pertaining to abstract mathematical operations and that of spatial reasoning. This
experiment was conducted on December 1993 and revolved around three different conditions, the
Mozart sonata for two pianos in D major, a relaxation tape, and silence as the control group. A control

Corn Vs Corn Essay
America grows a lot of corn. Of all the different grains grown here more than 95% of it is corn. While
corn is grown in most every state, most corn is grown in the Heartland, which is what the middle of
the country is sometimes called. Illinois and Iowa, two states in the Heartland, produce 30% of all
corn in America.
Do you enjoy corn of the cob in the summer time? Most of us do, but do Americans eat all this corn
that they grow? No, we do not eat it all, but we do eat quite a bit of it. Sometimes we eat corn without
realizing it!
Corn on the cob or corn in your dinner are obvious ways to eat corn. There are less obvious ways, too.

Corn can also be made in to cereal, grits, or flour. Grits are kind of like oatmeal, but made with corn.
The corn is dried and ground up. Then, the grits can be mixed with water or milk. Many people enjoy
a bowl of warm grits at breakfast. Flour is made in a similar way to grits but is ground to be very fine,
like regular flour. Americans rely on corn in their diet.
Farmers and other people in agriculture also rely on corn. A lot of corn is used to feed cows and other
animals like pigs and chickens. How much corn that livestock is fed depends on the cost. Farmers may
choose to feed their animals something different if corn costs too much. Or, they may choose to feed
their livestock something different if there is not enough corn for the animals. In some years, not
enough corn is grown to meet all the needs that we have.
Lastly, corn is used to make a fuel. This fuel is called ethanol. In some places ethanol is mixed with
gasoline to run cars and other vehicles. Next time you are at a gas station, look at the gas pump to see
if it says that the fuel contains ethanol. If it does, then you are putting corn into your

Analysis Of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is a classic piece of children s fantasy literature that was
published by the English author C.S. Lewis in 1950. It vividly portrays the fictitious lives of four
young siblings, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy during the time period of World War II. The reader
travels along with the siblings, as they discover the magical land of Narnia that extends beyond an
enormous wardrobe. The children within the story develop as a result of their experience within
Narnia, and ultimately grow as individuals based on the struggles they face. The reader travels along
with them while contemplating issues of good versus evil, problem solving, moral reasoning and
identity development. A literary element from this text that helps shine multiple lights onto the same
story, is the third person omniscient narrative. Within the novel, the narrator makes extensive use of
the omniscience. Through the eyes of a child: An introduction to children s literature notes that when
writing from the omniscient point of view, the author is not restricted to the knowledge, experiences,
and feelings of one person; the feelings and thoughts of all characters can be revealed. (Norton, 98).
Specific to this novel, the reader is sometimes receiving messages and focusing exclusively from
Lucy, such as when she made her first trip into the wardrobe. Lucy felt a little frightened, but she felt
very inquisitive and excited as well. She looked back over her shoulder and there,

The Federal Sentencing Guidelines And The Equal Protection...
Women are twice as likely as men to avoid incarceration if convicted of a crime. Whether or not this is
fair, though, is highly debated. Some politicians argue that women s prisons be abolished all together,
while Men s Rights Activists push for equal sentencing for comparable crimes. It has been proven that
judges tend to give women less time in prison, or no incarceration at all, and the reasons for this
support the imbalance in sentencing. Though many view women s tendency to receive lighter
punishments as unfair, it is justified that women receive this treatment because of legal rules that
surround the subject, the statistics that show women commit less serious and violent crimes, and how
women being incarcerated impacts those around them. Laws like the Federal Sentencing Guidelines
and the Equal Protection Clause were created to allow equal sentencing and treatment for all, but have
proven to allow for women to be given lighter sentences. The Federal Sentencing Guidelines are
designed to encourage the uniform and proportional treatment of defendants based on legally relevant
factors (Doerner, Jill K., and Stephen Demuth). What has evolved to be legally relevant though, does
not include gender. The guidelines allow for some discretion through the use of departures, which
enable factors such as family ties and responsibilities to be considered (Doerner, Jill K., and Stephen
Demuth). This further allows extralegal factors to be considered when a judge determines the

Health And Social Care For The Delivery Of Patient Care Essay
Sawbridge and Hewison (2015) believe that compassion is important to the delivery of patient care.
However, professionals are working in environments that are increasingly targeted which can take the
professionals away from delivering compassionate care (Baverstock and Finley 2016). This
assignment aims to discuss how important and how realistic it is for health and social care leaders to
balance compassion with effective and efficient service delivery. It aims to do this by exploring what
is meant by the term compassion and the influence that it has on patient care. The author will then
move on to discuss the impact compassion has on service delivery, considering if professionals need
to balance compassion with effective and efficient care delivery including the if compassion is in fact
required to deliver effective care. Within literature, Compassion has been described in many ways
though very few descriptions have agreed on how it is best identified (Volpintesta 2011). Crowther et
al (2013) describe compassion as a deep emotion that is felt by the individual practitioner allowing
them to understand what the patient may be experiencing. Nussbaum (2003) argues that compassion
goes beyond just understanding and identifying that emotion, it requires the practitioner to produce a
response to the feeling or emotion in order to improve the situation. Dewar (2011) points out that
compassion is not only about the recognition of the patients suffering but includes small

Rise Of Rarlo Trujillo
Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina was the President of the Dominican Republic. He ruled the country as
a dictator. In order to maintain his power, he eliminated people who disagreed with him by dismissing
them from their jobs or even murdering them. He also put his family members in positions of power in
the economy. Rafael Trujillo was a dictator that stopped at nothing in order to maintain his power over
the Dominican Republic. On October 24, 1891, Rafael Trujillo was born in San Cristóbal, Dominican
Republic. He lived with his lower middle class parents and 10 siblings. During his childhood, Trujillo
s education consisted of schools that were held in different villagers homes. He was only taught basic
principles in these schools. Rafael Trujillo got his first job when he was sixteen years old but
subsequently lost his job after he joined a gang and committed various crimes, including forging
checks. Trujillo eventually gave up his life of crime after he married his first wife, Aminta Ledesima,
and they had two daughters (Biography.com). Rafael Trujillo s rise to power began on January 11,
1919 when he took his oath to become an officer in the Constabulary Guard. Trujillo quickly rose
through the military ranks and by 1925 he was the commander in chief of the Northern Department of
the Guard (Historic World Leaders). His shot at becoming president came when the then President of
the Dominican Republic, President Horacio Vásquez, was forced to resign because of a revolt

Betlie s Multiple Times Corrie Ten Boom
This attitude takes center stage at various points in the novel, especially during the sisters stays at the
prison and concentration camps. Multiple times Corrie hears Betsie speak of how sorry she felt for the
German soldiers and how she wishes she could help them see the err of their ways. Betsie s
compassion towards her captors, assaulters, and enemies profoundly illustrates her love for the human
race and the desire she has that all know Christ. While in the Vught concentration camp, Betsie states,
Corrie, if people can be taught to hate, they can be taught to love! We must find a way, no matter how
long it takes... . Betsie sees the potential for goodness in everyone she meets despite their actions.
Overall, these three themes contribute to the central message of the novel. No matter how desperate a
situation or the severity of tribulation, the love of God is greater still and His love provides hope in
times of need. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a whole, the novel contains a few weaknesses. The first weakness arises from the time difference
between the events and the writing of the novel. Corrie ten Boom wrote THE HIDING PLACE twenty
years after the fact. It is extremely likely that the events depicted in the novel are shades of what
actually occurred. Memories fade and time distorts the reality of the past and because of this, I feel
that the book would have been more factually accurate had Corrie ten Boom written it much sooner.
Another weakness in the book derives itself from ten Boom s heavy reliance on her Christian faith. As
I read the book, I felt that some of the circumstances were glossed over and events were chocked up to
being merely miracles. However, I do agree with Corrie ten Boom s major premise throughout the
novel that religion can play a crucial role during tough

The Planned Parenthood Debate
The U.S. Senate blocked a bill to defund Planned Parenthood and channel federal dollars to other
health care providers and community health centers that do not perform abortions on Monday.
The bill calling for defunding of Planned Parenthood was introduced by Freshman Senator Joni Ernst,
R Iowa, who ran an anti abortion campaign last year.
The American taxpayer should not be asked to fund an organization like Planned Parenthood that has
shown a sheer disdain for human dignity and complete disregard for women and their babies, she said
on Monday in a floor speech.
The vote on the bill was 53 46, 7 votes short of the 60 votes required to proceed and for debate to open
on the bill. The votes fell mostly along party lines.
Planned Parenthood provides health care services besides abortion like cervical cancer screenings,
contraception, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and birth control counseling to approximately
2.7 million women a year at over 700 affiliated health centers across the country. It receives more than
$500 million a year in Medicaid reimbursements and $60 million in grants for family planning

Analyze The Role Of Naturalization In America
World War I military draft cards are another resource that could assist you in determining time of

By 1825, the number of Jews was roughly 4500 in America, but the number of German Jews
immigrating was on a steady increase. Cincinnati, Ohio experienced a large growth of these people
and became a center for Reform Judaism in America. These Jews created communities in small towns
of the Midwest, West, and South. Though land was plentiful in the Ohio Valley, the Jews were
unaccustomed to the ways of farming and chose to settle in populated areas.
Jewish population growth in America exploded in 1880 through 1924 with close to two million Jews
coming from Russia, Poland, Austria Hungary, and Romania. After their arrival at Castle Garden (and
later Ellis Island), the immigrants often settled in some of the poorer neighborhoods of major cities ...

the certificates were granted by the Secretary of State for Canada. Petitions for citizenship were

The Anti-Hero In The Quiet American
How do you measure the life of one person against the greater good? Can it ever be the right thing to
sacrifice an innocent person? And how do you know what the greater good really is? (Amy Engel, The
Book of Ivy). The greater good is a concept that Thomas Fowler, the protagonist of The Quiet
American , uses to justify his part in the murder of an innocent man. Thomas Fowler embodies none
of the qualities typically assigned to an protagonist, being a man whose failings from being an
adulterer, an opium addict, and ultimately a murderer by choice that draws him into the defined role of
the anti hero. The anti hero in a story, like Fowler, is branded by the imperfect, and experienced nature

Fowler, a citizen of a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy, has sympathies towards
the communist party in Vietnam. He would later use this political mindset to explain partly his reason
for assisting in the assignation of the democratic Pyle. This is even a darker, and more twisted event,
when Fowler admits that not only are his actions motivated by his political and moral ideals, but also
that he will recover his young lover, Phuong, from Pyle. Alden Pyle died because Fowler justified his
part in the assassination through his ideals of war, and the cost of the innocent, his political
sentiments, and the repossession of a woman. He convinces himself that he is the hero of the scene by
saving Vietnam from the brashness of the American Pyle, while also receiving the bonus of Phuong in

After receiving the three applications, the government spent over three years evaluating the proposals

whole society was shocked because that means HKTV, which is considered as the most competitive

Even though Gregory So, Secretary of the Commerce and Economic Bureau and CY Leung, Chief
Executive of Hong Kong SAR explain the decision, citizens found the reasons are not acceptable. A

Prescription and over the counter drugs. If you asked the vast majority of people in the US if there a

The wars of the twentieth were primarily fought on dry land, in Europe, however, in the twenty first

maritime. Maritime including the sea, air, and outer space, because ever since the aircraft carriers and
satellites were put into use, the air and outer space have become interconnected with naval warfare

this reason, Chinese observers have called the South China Sea the second Persian Gulf . China s state

resources in the South China Sea and has already taken steps to extract these natural resources. In
2014, China placed the Haiyang Shiyou 981 oil rig in contested waters, near Vietnam. The Chinese oil

Vietnam claim. The rig is currently in an overlapping area between the Hainan Island (China)

lead to many conflicts. China is also desperate for new sources of energy, as China consumes 10
percent of all oil produced while only producing 1.1 percent. The resources in the South China Sea

Several children with Morquio disease are detected with orthopedic disorders containing: scoliosis,

conditions are present at birth and can be treated when the child is very young.
Depending on your child s needs, orthopedic specialists from our Spine Program, Hip Disorders

Cognitive function is typically usual in patients with Morquio syndrome. Bone deformities can cause

The Vietnam War And The Long Arms Of American History
The Vietnam War is a sore spot in the long arms of American History. Nearly 60,000 Americans died
and estimated millions of Vietnamese. It was considered to be the longest war in American history as
well. Many questioned the motives and causes of the war calling it an atrocity. Others say that it may
have been a terrible effort to defend a noble cause, the spread of communism. The years precluding
the Vietnam war, there was a war taking place in Vietnam. It was known as the Indochina War, where
the Vietnamese waged war against the colonial rule of France. The French were defeated in the battle
of Dien Bien Phu. Following this defeat, there was a peace conference in Geneva, which resulted in
Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam to receive their independence. The Geneva Accords officially divided
Vietnam into North Vietnam and South Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh and his communist forces led the
North. A French backed emperor led the south until elections in 1956. These elections were supposed
to reunify Vietnam. United State s Cold War policy was beginning to come into play by this time. The
U.S. was concerned with the domino theory, which believed that the communist overtake of North
Vietnam would cause other countries in surrounding regions to adopt the ideology. In the interest of
the U.S. to support South Vietnam, they back an anti communist politician named Ngo Dinh Diem. In

AP-Suffrage In England
Describe the steps taken between 1832 and 1918 to extend the suffrage in England. What group and
movements contributed to the extension of the vote? Several groups, movements and reform bills
passed between 1832 and 1918 extended the suffrage in England. The process took many years and
the voting rights were first given to the wealthier and more distinguished men, then later to the less
wealthy men, and finally to women. The major reform bills that extended the suffrage in England were
the Reform Bill of 1832, 1867, and 1884, and the Qualification of Women Act in 1917. (Mazour,

Another problem with the voting system was the lack of a private vote. Employers could influence the
way their employees voted by threatening to punish them if they failed to vote for their preffered
candidate. This problem was fixed in 1872, when William Gladstone s government passed the Ballot
Act which guaranteed a secret system of voting. Although the immediate results of the reform act were
not earth shattering, the country had taken, as Lord Derby said, a leap in the dark. Strikes, union
advances, and labor organization were powerful forces for change in the final years of the century.
William Gladstone was elected as Prime Minister of England for the second time in 1880 and the most
important legislative action that took place during his second ministry was the Reform Act of 1884.
The reform act was rejected the first time it was presented to the House of Lords, but accepted the
second time because it was accompanied by a redistribution act, which had the following implications.
(i) seventy nine towns with populations smaller than 15,000 lost their right to elect an MP; (ii) thirty
six with populations between 15,000 and 50,000 lost one of their MPs and became single member
constituencies; (iii) towns with populations between 50,000 and 165,000 were given two seats; (iv)

Aussie textiles are a medium sized organization which produces quality garments located at
Queensland. As there was a huge competition for imported goods at a cheaper price, the organization
had decided to establish a manufacturing plant and import goods from one of the three countries
namely Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam. This report will be focusing on how Vietnam could be a
potential country for setting up an entirely new manufacturing plant to produce quality textiles and
export back to Queensland. Further adding on to the report, it attempts to analyze the pros and cons,
followed by the industry overview and analysis. In the next paragraphs, the market for the textile
industry will be analyzed using the industry data. In addition to this, tools such as porter five forces

Over the course of little more than a decade, Vietnam has become a significant exporter of garments to
the EU and Japan, and now to the Australia too. Textiles are a vital component of Vietnam, presently
accounting for nearly half of the country s manufactured exports. As clothing is some of the most

INTRODUCTION The automotive industry in India is one of the largest automotive markets in the world, previously one of the fastest growing markets globally. It started out as a small venture in the 1940s but witnessed a rapid growth with the entry of some big manufacturers like Mahindra Mahindra and Maruti in mid and late 1900s. In 2000, this industry became an important sector of the Indian economy and a major foreign exchange earner for the country. The Shiv group was one of the largest industrial groups in India at this time established in the early 1900s. With the ownership of 20 companies and a turnover of US $1 billion, they were market leaders in the sectors like tea, auto parts, electronics, finance, pharmaceuticals etc. In 2000, Shiv industry was going through a rough phase experiencing a continuous loss. • 3. The Pros And Cons Of The Internet World Wide Web a phrase that has revolutionized our period of time; without the internet there would be no place where we would get to watch videos, look at images of cats, and most importantly cry on the stylish clothes that one may never get. Many individuals tend to stay at home on this phenomenon for more than eight hours straight, visiting numerous of sites. However, imagine those services being on one platform which means everything one enjoys doing on multiple websites: watching movies/videos, viewing images, or buying clothes. Amazon, a multimillionaire private company, happens to solidify this imagination. The corporation believes the internet is evolving towards a greater good of every individual doing everything online; mainly shopping. They believe technology has made it easier for many people to access an online store through the World Wide Web. However, Amazon has become an empire in such a short amount of time and will not stop growing. Due to the contrary, Amazon is obviously becoming too powerful. As said previously, Amazon.com is a privately owned corporation which is basically the internet s online supermarket filled with various items ranging from fresh apples to the board game, Monopoly to zebras skin clothing. • 4. Background Check When seriously considering a candidate for an open position, it is very important to consider conducting a background check. Background checks can offer employers potentially valuable benefits of hiring well qualified candidates such as, reducing turnover and related expenses, and limiting claims of negligent hiring. A background check should be completed as soon as a formal job offer has been made. Drug testing should also be completed during this time as a part of the background check requirements. The job offer needs to be communicated as conditional offer of employment upon successful completion of a criminal background check and drug test. In a competitive job market candidates are more likely to embellish or hide their history to make them appear to be the ideal person for the job. The truth would not be discovered unless a complete criminal background check is performed. A background check should include educational and work history, along with a criminal background check to verify clearance depending what type of employment the candidate is seeking. Background checks can also be useful for obtaining driving history and a credit report. All background checks require consistency. A fall in the price would lead to a decline of the return on investment as well as the cash flow. That is why it is necessary to use fewer stations in order to save resources. I therefore believe developing nations are better off without large mining companies operating within them. Mining companies often overlook the artisanal miners, that use the mine as their lone source of income, and move them out from the mines. I believe that developing nations are better off without mining majors in operation within them because of the possibility for government corruption. Developing nations are better off without mining majors because the country is seen as a target for large revenue gains, the Global Business Standards Codex and fair treatment of local people can often be disregarded at the expense of profits. Artisanal miners live in or around mines and generally do all of their work by hand, including the extraction of ore, to make a living. As these people live on the mine, if a company wants to buy the mine then they have to move the whole town elsewhere. In accordance with the fairness principle, which has always been involved with ethical thought (Paine et al. 2005), the mining company should provide housing for the artisanal miners. However, by doing this, the company is taking the miners away from their source of money and livelihood, which creates an imbalance. An example of this is the Canadian mining company in Essakane, Burkina Faso (Siegel 2013). As global mining companies seek new avenues of revenue they are increasingly turning to the developing world. It would change the pH of the liver or potato as HCl is very acidic and NaOH is very basic. Changes in pH can denature the protein in the enzymes which could result in no reaction. For most enzymes, they require a very specific pH, so when a solution becomes too acidic or too basic, no reaction can occur as the enzyme will become denatured by the abrupt change in pH. 6. What effect would slightly cooling or heating the test tube have? Slightly cooling or heating the test tube could also result in the proteins in the enzymes becoming denatured by the changes in the temperature. Enzymes also require very specific temperatures to function properly, so if the temperature changed too dramatically no reaction would occur. • 14. Human Emotion And Its Effect On Human Consciousness The purpose of life, to some degree, is to seek happiness and to seek out other people to achieve that happiness. Sigmund Freud developed this idea, which is known as the pleasure principle, claiming to explain that the human consciousness and subconsciousness revolve around this idea. If someone is isolated, then they will try to alleviate that suffering in one way or another. Human emotion is reduced to extremely simple terms, unlike what they truly are, which is extremely complex. The idea of reducing humans to such a simple understanding seems unfair, but it carries a sense of truth to it. Every person on Earth is seeking for pleasure, and it carries truth because no person appreciates the feeling of unpleasantness. Isolation is a defense method against the world to seek pleasure and to avoid unpleasant feelings in life. Freud believes that everyone attempts to get away from things that cause us pain and suffering and that everyone feels suffering as a result of society, but the way people attempt to alleviate this suffering defines us as a person. Two people could be faced with the death of a close relative, but the one who alleviates his suffering through drugs is very different from the one who alleviates his suffering through burying himself in his work. The exploration of Freud s ideas through different characters of the two stories, Sonny s Blues and Ceremony, reveal that Freud s principles regarding human nature are not the basis for all human life. • 22. The Federal Sentencing Guidelines And The Equal Protection... Women are twice as likely as men to avoid incarceration if convicted of a crime. Whether or not this is fair, though, is highly debated. Some politicians argue that women s prisons be abolished all together, while Men s Rights Activists push for equal sentencing for comparable crimes. It has been proven that judges tend to give women less time in prison, or no incarceration at all, and the reasons for this support the imbalance in sentencing. Though many view women s tendency to receive lighter punishments as unfair, it is justified that women receive this treatment because of legal rules that surround the subject, the statistics that show women commit less serious and violent crimes, and how women being incarcerated impacts those around them. Laws like the Federal Sentencing Guidelines and the Equal Protection Clause were created to allow equal sentencing and treatment for all, but have proven to allow for women to be given lighter sentences. The Federal Sentencing Guidelines are designed to encourage the uniform and proportional treatment of defendants based on legally relevant factors (Doerner, Jill K., and Stephen Demuth). What has evolved to be legally relevant though, does not include gender. As can be seen in the example provided it is clearly noted that Myer was a Naturalized citizen. By 1825, the number of Jews was roughly 4500 in America, but the number of German Jews immigrating was on a steady increase. Cincinnati, Ohio experienced a large growth of these people and became a center for Reform Judaism in America. These Jews created communities in small towns of the Midwest, West, and South. Though land was plentiful in the Ohio Valley, the Jews were unaccustomed to the ways of farming and chose to settle in populated areas. Jewish population growth in America exploded in 1880 through 1924 with close to two million Jews coming from Russia, Poland, Austria Hungary, and Romania. Petitions for citizenship were forwarded on to the Secretary of State from the local judicial courts. • 29. The Anti-Hero In The Quiet American How do you measure the life of one person against the greater good? Can it ever be the right thing to sacrifice an innocent person? And how do you know what the greater good really is? (Amy Engel, The Book of Ivy). The greater good is a concept that Thomas Fowler, the protagonist of The Quiet American , uses to justify his part in the murder of an innocent man. Thomas Fowler embodies none of the qualities typically assigned to an protagonist, being a man whose failings from being an adulterer, an opium addict, and ultimately a murderer by choice that draws him into the defined role of the anti hero. The anti hero in a story, like Fowler, is branded by the imperfect, and experienced nature whose flaws both humanizes and horrifies. Fowler, a citizen of a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy, has sympathies towards the communist party in Vietnam. He would later use this political mindset to explain partly his reason for assisting in the assignation of the democratic Pyle. This is even a darker, and more twisted event, when Fowler admits that not only are his actions motivated by his political and moral ideals, but also that he will recover his young lover, Phuong, from Pyle. Alden Pyle died because Fowler justified his part in the assassination through his ideals of war, and the cost of the innocent, his political sentiments, and the repossession of a woman. He convinces himself that he is the hero of the scene by saving Vietnam from the brashness of the American Pyle, while also receiving the bonus of Phuong in the process. In the end, it is very clear that Fowler is an anti hero, which is made accurately well defined, by his proof of intent in the murder of an innocent man for the greater good of himself, and ... After clashes with Vietnamese vessels, China briefly removed the oil rig, but it was placed back near the Gulf of Tonkin on January 16, 2016. The Vietnamese government strongly protested against the presence of a Chinese oil rig in contested waters that both China and Vietnam claim. The rig is currently in an overlapping area between the Hainan Island (China) continental shelf and Vietnam s continental shelf. The presence of this oil rig caused worry and has lead to many conflicts. • 35. The Vietnam War And The Long Arms Of American History The Vietnam War is a sore spot in the long arms of American History. Nearly 60,000 Americans died and estimated millions of Vietnamese. It was considered to be the longest war in American history as well. Many questioned the motives and causes of the war calling it an atrocity. Others say that it may have been a terrible effort to defend a noble cause, the spread of communism. The years precluding the Vietnam war, there was a war taking place in Vietnam. It was known as the Indochina War, where the Vietnamese waged war against the colonial rule of France. The French were defeated in the battle of Dien Bien Phu. Following this defeat, there was a peace conference in Geneva, which resulted in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam to receive their independence. The Geneva Accords officially divided Vietnam into North Vietnam and South Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh and his communist forces led the North. A French backed emperor led the south until elections in 1956. These elections were supposed to reunify Vietnam. United State s Cold War policy was beginning to come into play by this time. The U.S. was concerned with the domino theory, which believed that the communist overtake of North Vietnam would cause other countries in surrounding regions to adopt the ideology. Several groups, movements and reform bills passed between 1832 and 1918 extended the suffrage in England. The process took many years and the voting rights were first given to the wealthier and more distinguished men, then later to the less wealthy men, and finally to women. The major reform bills that extended the suffrage in England were the Reform Bill of 1832, 1867, and 1884, and the Qualification of Women Act in 1917. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another problem with the voting system was the lack of a private vote. Employers could influence the way their employees voted by threatening to punish them if they failed to vote for their preffered candidate. This problem was fixed in 1872, when William Gladstone s government passed the Ballot Act which guaranteed a secret system of voting. Although the immediate results of the reform act were not earth shattering, the country had taken, as Lord Derby said, a leap in the dark. Strikes, union advances, and labor organization were powerful forces for change in the final years of the century. William Gladstone was elected as Prime Minister of England for the second time in 1880 and the most important legislative action that took place during his second ministry was the Reform Act of 1884. The reform act was rejected the first time it was presented to the House of Lords, but accepted the second time because it was accompanied by a redistribution act, which had the following implications. (i) seventy nine towns with populations smaller than 15,000 lost their right to elect an MP; (ii) thirty six with populations between 15,000 and 50,000 lost one of their MPs and became single member constituencies; (iii) towns with populations between 50,000 and 165,000 were given two seats; (iv) larger towns and the country constituencies were divided into single member constituencies (http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/PR1885.htm).
