This document outlines the research objectives, focus, design, and methods for a study examining the relationship between educational outcomes, health, and fertility. The study aims to investigate how women's schooling impacts decision making power and whether these effects vary by community or individual influences. It will also examine if the relationships between education, health, and fertility are changing over time and differing impacts for the poor versus less poor. The research design involves interviews and focus groups with young married men and women to understand how education shapes women's agency, empowerment, and experiences with confidence, decision making, and domestic violence. Qualitative data will be analyzed using Atlas-TI software.
