
WHAT IS ENVIRONMENT?
DEFINATION :- The sum of total of all
surroundings of a living
organism including natural forces and
other living things, which provide
conditions for development and growth
as well as of danger and damage.
AIR POLLUTION
AIR POLLUTION comes from a wide variety
of sources. Some of the most excessive
sources include.
 Forest Fire
 Building Construction
NOISE POLLUTION
A form and level of environmental sound that is
generally considered likely to annoy distract
or even harm other people.
 Traffic
 Air-Port
 Construction Side
WATER POLLUTION
WATER POLLUTION can occur in
oceans, rivers, lakes and underground
reservoirs. Causes of water pollution include.
 Increased sediment from soil erosion.
 Improper waste disposal and littring.
SOIL POLLUTION
The SOIL POLLUTION pertains to the
contamination of the soil due to man- made
chemicals such as hydrocarbons, heavy
metals, solvents and the like. Soil Pollution
sorces include.
 Waste and sewage spills.
 Heavy use of inorganic pesticides.
RADIOACTIVE POLUUTION
RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION refers to the
contamination and degradation of the
environment through nuclear waste. It is the
physical pollution of air, water and land.
RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION comes from
 Nuclear power plant accident or leakage.
 Improper Nuclear waste disposal.
THERMAL POLLUTION
THERMAL POLLUTION occurs in lakes when
heated waste is put into the lakes and also
into the rivers. Thermal pollution solutions
would be to cool the water down.
 Power plant.
 Urban sprawl.
 Deforestation.
