 Currently connecting over 20 million teachers and
students
 Frequently used district and school wide
 Also includes a mobile and tablet platform

 Create a comfortable classroom environment online.
 Facilitate Discussions
 Monitor Student progress
 Assign and collect homework
 Create quizzes and polls
 Award badges
 Download Applications: picture
editing, schooltube, flashcard applications, common core
applications etc.

5. How Edmodo services a 21st Century Classroom
 Allows students to interact with a variety of different
medias- video, blogging, images, recordings etc.
 Allows a student to publish their work to different
audiences (peers, parents, or just the teacher)
 Allows the teacher to connect communicate with other
educational institutions and teachers.
 Allows for multiple collaborators (co-
teachers, administration etc.)
 Reduces the need for paper, can act like a drop-box for
collecting assignments.
 Privacy settings are effective and student identity can be
concealed.

6. My Edmodo: Summer Book Club
 Five students: Henry, Brady, Timmy, Chloe and
Molly.
 Two books: reading is planned throughout the
summer on the group calendar.
 Discussions, polls, quizzes and assignments
 Shared folders with a variety of resources about the
authors and books.
