INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this assignment is to provide an analysis for Common
Ground, one of the best-run-non-profit organizations for homeless problem in
New York City, which is discussed in the case study. In particular, its spin-off
organization, Community Solutions, has been paid a lot of attention with its
revenue model. Accordingly, the organization of this assignment is structured into
three main parts. The first part aims to make an overview about the firm,
including its products and services, its awards/achievements, its success factors
and how organization changes the way to homelessness, etc. The second part
discusses about general environment segments and elements in each segment and
forces and factors in each forces to identify opportunities and threats for the firm,
along with internal factors to identify strengths and weaknesses of the firm. Last
but not least, the final part will propose a suitable strategy for the firm, as well as
some necessary solutions to implement strategy chosen.

I. OVERVIEW ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
1.1 The mission/vision
Common Ground (now namely Breaking Ground) provides exceptional
supportive and affordable housing to home less as shelters with private, safe
and affordable apartments linked with health mental care. In particular, they
has mission to:
Provide a variety of homelessness solutions and work with each
person to determine what is best for them (permanent or transitional
housing).
Meet people “where they are” - both literally and figuratively
through conducting psychiatric evaluation and sending a native
outreach worker.
Construct beautiful spaces and offering life-enriching workshops
and social events to foster strong, vibrant communities within the
buildings
Accordingly, their vision is to attain both high long-term stability rates and a
strong sense of trust in the communities in which they work. Furthermore, they
also hope to have an excellent reputation among those still living on the streets
who know of others who were once in their same predicament and are today in
housing because of Breaking Ground. Of course, they expects to contribute in
reducing the number of homeless with cost-effective.

emotional appeal of the mission rather than by organizational performance.
People will give millions of dollars to their alma maters without requiring clear
evidence of performance. Yet they may stop funding organizations delivering
demonstrable results when their personal interests shift, a phenomenon called
donor fatigue.
