The history of transport evolved with the
development  of  human  culture.  Long  distance  walking
tracks developed as trade routes in Paleolithic times. For
most of human history the only forms of transport apart
from  walking  were  using  domesticated  animals  or
transport in small boats.
The history of rail transportation dates
back nearly 500 years, and includes systems with man
or horse power and rails of wood (or occasionally
stone). This was usually for moving coal from the
mine down to a river, from where it could continue by
boat, with a flanged wheel running on a rail. The use
of cast iron plates as rails began in the 1760s, and
was followed by systems (plate ways) where the flange
was part of the rail. However, with the introduction of
rolled wrought iron rails, these became obsolete.
Modern rail t ransport syst ems f irst appeared
in England in t he 1820s. These syst ems, which
made use of t he st eam locomot ive, were t he f irst
pract ical f orm of mechanized land t ransport , and
t hey remained t he primary f orm of mechanized
land t ransport f or t he next 100 years.
A  SOLAR TRAINis an electric vehicle powered completely or significantly by
direct solar energy. Usually, photovoltaic (PV) cells contained in solar panels convert the sun's
energy directly into electric energy. The term "solar train" usually implies that solar energy is
used to power all or part of a vehicle's propulsion. Solar power may be also used to provide power
for communications or controls or o other auxiliary functions.
So, it can be concluded as the
solar trains can reduce up to more than
65% of electric and greenhouse effect
and current. This reduces pollution
makes our globe healthier !!!
ELECTRIC CAR
An electric car is
an automobile that is propelled by one electric
motor or more, using electrical energy stored
in batteries or another energy storage device.
Electric motors give electric cars instant torque,
creating strong and smooth acceleration.
Benefits of electric cars over
conventional internal combustion engine automobiles include a significant
reduction of local air pollution, as they do not emit tailpipe pollutants, reduced
greenhouse gas emissions from the onboard source of power, depending on the
fuel and technology used for electricity generation to charge the batteries, and
less dependence on foreign oil, which in several countries is cause for concern
about vulnerability to oil price volatility and supply disruption. Widespread
adoption of electric cars faces several hurdles and limitations, however,
including the higher cost of electric vehicles, the lack of recharging
infrastructure (other than home charging) and the driver's fear of the batteries
running out of energy before reaching their destination (range anxiety) due to
the limited range of most existing electric cars.
